And for the last eight years, I've been figuring out what works and what doesn't work in the world of online marketing to get organic traffic? And now I'm here to share all the things I'm learning in the trenches of SEO, copywriting, and content marketing. How does 300%, 500%, or even 12,000% more traffic in a year sound? What could your business do with that kind of traffic increase? How many more people could you help? So listen in and prepare to take note. I'm about to drop simple, actionable SEO, marketing and copywriting tips all with a Heavy dose of Jesus loving encouragement. Let's get you more traffic and more leads so you can help more people with your God given gifts. Okay, so fun fact, I'm gonna come back to the marketing aspect, don't worry. But I need to weave in some like lessons and things that the Lord is working on me with here because it all ties in together. So Christmas Eve Christmas service at church, like you know, the Christmas, the day, the Sunday after Christmas, right. We had a guest speaker at church and he's somebody that comes, you know, like around every Christmas because he comes to visit church, visit family, he pastors a church somewhere else and he's usually a guest speaker aroundish Christmas. And he taught a really good message on faithfulness and he was just really breaking down how, how important and how impactful faithfulness is and in fulfilling our God given callings and in loving those around us. Well, and I was just sitting with the Lord on this message. I've been sitting with the Lord on this message and there's definitely more to, you know, dig into there. But I really feel like for myself, one of the main goals for me in my business and in my life this year is faithfulness. And faithfulness does not always look like it's not just like not faithfulness is not just not cheating on your spouse. Okay. Faithfulness equals being diligent to the things that God has put in your hand to do. And you know, we like to use the parable of, you know, the 10 talents or the five talents, where you know, the, the master gives talents according to the servant's ability and then the servant multiplies those, doubles the talents that we're given, except for the wicked and lazy servant. And I think so often in our businesses, and I'm speaking to myself here, right, A small business owner. So often in our businesses it's really exciting to get the business going or create a new product or serve a client. But the little daily diligent details that add up to faithfulness, those can be really hard, especially if you are solo or you have a very small team or you have a very limited number of hours that you work on your business. And I check all of those boxes. So I'm going to tie this, this faithfulness idea into your content marketing for you. Because I have seen over my years, my 9ish years in content marketing that there really is a huge payoff, a huge dividend to just simply being faithful in your content marketing, to simply being consistent, to not just showing up like, hey, here's my face, but Showing up with value. So consistency and consistently delivering value in your content marketing. So if there is one thing that you can do this year to be successful in your content marketing, it's to be consistent. And how do we be consistent? Well, we have to plan now. Btw, my high school leadership teacher, student council teacher, would not believe, would not believe that I'm saying this because I am not naturally a planner. I am very naturally fly by the seat of my pants. I'm gonna show up and we're gonna have a grand old time and oh, shoot, there's no food to feed anybody here, right? Like, that's me. My husband laughs at me because he's like, I have to make sure that there's food and that everybody has pants on. And I'm like, yep, But I'm gonna make it a fun party. That's just my natural personality. And so for me to say, for me to sit down and be like, yeah, we have to actually plan this thing out to see success, that takes a lot, okay? But truly, for you to have a successful year as a content marketer, marketing your business to get more sales, serve more people, to expand your tent stakes, so to speak, as a Christian business owner, you need to plan, okay? And you need, you need to plan your content marketing. Now today I'm going to walk you through the real raw way that I actually plan my content. And it's really not as fancy as you might think, okay? I have tried lots of different methods over the years and this is really just what works. And I not only have to plan my content, but I have to plan content for clients. So I figured out a thing or two on how to do this and how to do it in a way that, you know, is still fun but is also fruitful. So I've got five. Seven. I've got. Sorry, seven. I've got seven steps for you in planning out your content marketing so that you can be consistent, so that you can be faithful, and so you can see the fruit and the increase that I believe God has for you and is calling you to in your business. Okay? So disclaimer. Do not use AI for this. Now. I love my chatty. I have Chatty G trained to be like Chef's kiff's well oiled machine. Like, my chatty is so well trained, y' all wouldn't even believe it. But when it comes to planning out content, AI just kind of sucks. I'm being real with you. And this is from a really, really well trained AI. Okay? It's not just Random, untrained AI Chatty sucks at planning out content, so I do not want you to use AI for this. I've got a series coming up on AI and how to use AI, but this ain't that, okay? We're gonna actually use our God given brains for this. Okay, so step number one in planning out your content so that you can be consistent and faithful is this. I want you to look at your launches and your life, vacation, etc and then back up from that. Okay? As business owners, we get the freedom of planning our business around our life and not our life around our work. Okay? I talked more about this in last week's episode, but your business schedule should serve your life and your family, not run right over it. So just a really easy way that I plan this practically when I'm looking at, you know, planning out my content and I'm planning out my launches, I'm like, oh, well, my husband's hunting a lot this particular month. Probably not going to plan a launch that that month. Or oh, I want to go to a bunch of barrel races or a bunch of rodeos this month because there's a lot of big ones. I'm not going to plan a whole lot of extra stuff. I'm going to be on like the bare minimum that month because I want my content and my business and my content marketing to serve, serve my life, not the other way around. Okay? So step number one is to look at your life, your, your vacations and your launches and then back up from that in planning out your content. And when I'm talking about planning out your content, I'm not talking about like today I'm going to write this Instagram post and this is exactly what it's going to say. And I'm going to use these three pictures like, no, we're not getting that granular here. We're just looking at big picture content themes and then maybe the say one stinking thing summary that you want to get across in each individual piece of content. Okay? So number two, I want you to look at what has performed well. Now this is not to be like inauthentic or only thinking about vanity metrics or anything like that, but if you want your business to grow, you can't keep beating a dead horse. Okay? So let's say that you are somebody that you want to be. You're a fitness trainer for moms with, you know, stay at home moms with little kids, right? You want it, you want to help more of those moms, but you happen to have like a Side passion of potbelly pigs. And you want to talk all about your pot belly pigs. And if that kind of content doesn't resonate with your ideal client, but you keep talking about that kind of stuff inside of your content marketing friend, you are shooting yourself in the foot. Okay? If you want your business to grow, you have to plan your content strategically. Now, obviously you need data here, okay? You don't need to get super duper nerdy on your data, but you do need to look at your data and learn. Okay? And I need you to just make note, okay? Do people consume your content in droves when you talk about a certain topic, do they click away or not click at all? When you talk about a different topic, like just make notes here, okay? And again, this is, this is absolutely not to say that you can't go rogue air quotes or follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. You can and you should follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Okay? When I recorded a podcast about Charlie Kirk, I knew that I would lose some people. And I did. But I did it anyway because I, one, felt very strongly that I should. And two, I don't care. But you do need to actually look at your data. And one thing that AI is super helpful for here is if you can down. If you can download your data and then upload it to your AI and have it comb through the data and find some trends and make recommendations, that. That is super helpful. Okay? So number three, when you have content strategically planned out, then when you sit down to create, you, one, know what you're creating. Two, you know the logic has already been thought out, and three, it removes the decision fatigue. Okay? So you need to know going into this that planning out your content in batches truly is going to save you time and make you better when you're actually creating. Okay, so step, I'm going to outline our steps again just so we don't get lost. One, we're going to look at how it launches. Two, we're going to look at what has performed well. Three, we're going to realize, remember that when we have our content strategically planned out, then when we sit down to create, we're going to be better creators. Okay? And then step number four is I need you to look over your master content list. I have an entire podcast on the number one thing that you need for your content marketing, and it's a master content list. Okay? I use a Google Doc because it's accessible from my phone or my computer. I always recommend having something, you know, digital here so that you can access it anywhere. But you're going to look over your master content list. Now, truth be told, you're not always gonna get your best ideas from there. And that's okay. Sometimes you're gonna get a ton of good ideas. Sometimes I get so many good ideas from my master content list. But sometimes you're gonna be like, meh, that doesn't really fit. What are where I wanna go. Okay. And then if you do have some good ideas on the master content list, great, let's plug em into your schedule. If you don't, hopefully that at least jogged your brain enough to be giving you some ideas for, for your individual big pieces of evergreen content. And then, my friends, is step number five. And this, I feel like, is where so many people kind of fall off essentially. And step number five is to put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. And I'll be real, real. I am as much as I am. Like, don't do it twice. Like, I want to do something once and not have to redo it. I almost always, always, always end up writing things down on paper. I've talked about this before, but there's something in the brain that, that shifts when we do things analog or pen to paper versus keyboard. And so sometimes I will walk away from my computer, bust out my whiteboard or a notebook or a scrap sheet of paper to just get ideas out of my head and written down. If you're feeling really stuck here still, then I have an episode on getting unstuck, a whole episode on getting unstuck with your content creation. And that is episode 254. But the point is you've got the ideas now you have to write it down. And I don't want you to just write down, you know, like the rough draft title of whatever you're doing. I want you, while you're in this headspace, to actually jot down the main point and supporting points. Because while you're in this headspace and you're coming up with ideas, your batch planning is what you're doing. I want you to actually write down your points or your main thoughts on that. Not to say that you won't go back and refine that later or do more research or maybe you only thought of three points, and then when you sit down to create it, you think of five points or whatever the thing is. But you need to get what you're thinking and what is in your brain when you come up with that idea. You need to get that written down with the idea. Put the pen to the Paper and get that out of your head onto paper so that when you go to actually create the content, you don't have to reinvent the wheel, you don't have to rethink of the things you can just sit down and create. Okay, so this is when I will work on a very, very, very rough outline and I'll just jot down a few points with each idea. We're talking like three very rough points or five points or whatever comes to mind and then I move on. Okay, now step number six is to do keyword research. And I say keyword research in this spot because one, I want content creation to be fun for you and for me. And I find that if I start off with keyword research, it just, you know, sucks the fun right out of it and then it's not fun to create no more. But you have this list of ideas, you have a rough outline, and now you need to make sure that people are actually searching for this idea or this concept before you spend time really fully fleshing out this idea and really fully creating this long form content. So you, this is where your keyword research is, where the rubber meets the road with the strategic part of your content marketing strategy. Now this is also where it's really important to maybe think through different ways to say something. Like maybe you're talking about, you know, changing somebody's mentality around food and really the words that they're searching for are, you know, food addictions or overcoming food addictions. And you just have to shift your language so that it fits what's being being searched. You're not trying to be inauthentic, you're not trying to be a liar mcglyr pants. But if what you're talking about doesn't matchy matchy with what people are saying and the words that they're using to search it, then nobody's going to search for what you're creating and then you're not going to get any new clients from this content. Right? So make sure that you do the keyword research. If you have not already grabbed my keyword research Kickstarter, this will be a great asset to you and your content marketing for the upcoming year and years to come. In the keyword research Kickstart, what I do is in under an hour you can learn how to do keyword research the right way, the easy way. I'm skipping around all the stuff you don't need, cutting straight to the stuff you do need inside of ubersuggest, which I've talked talked about extensively it's my favorite keyword research tool. But keyword Research Kickstart is going to give you the tools that you need to do keyword research gives you everything you need, teaches you everything you need and nothing that you don't need, so that you can get in, get her done, and get on with your life. Okay, now step number seven, ready is to schedule it out, bro. And to be honest, this is where I really suck. Which is why I have to have a visual calendar in front of my eyeballs and why I created my annual planning calendar so that I can put my content in there, I can have my content themes written out, I can have what's in promotion written out. I can have like three words of the episodes that I'm that I'm planning on written out inside of my block, inside of my like little calendar squares, like, because that way I can be like, oh yeah, I have content planned out, good to go, move on with my life, you know? But when you don't schedule it out, then you're not putting the final pieces in place to hold yourself accountable, to create that content, to be consistent in your creation and truly faithful in what you're doing in your business. Because as crazy as it sounds, the principles of faithfulness that God laid out for us in the Bible, they still work today, right? And I'll be real sometimes content marketing and faithful, consistent content marketing, it isn't flashy, it isn't snazzy. Especially when you're doing long form content marketing as your core, which you should be because it lasts so much longer. Blogging lasts so much. Your blogs last so much longer than your social media posts, but you're not getting hearts and stars and likes immediately after you post something. So it feels like this is pointless. But when you think about the long term gains, when you think about planting a tree, right, that's going to grow you fruit for years and years and years to come, then you just need to be faithful to do the planting, to do the watering, right? And let God bring the increase on what he's called you to do, right? And I'm not equating your business with the gospel, don't get me wrong. Although our, our min. Our work should be ministry, I fully believe that. But the point is the principles of faithfulness still work today, okay? So let's just all pinky promise ourselves together that we're going to be faithful with our content marketing this year and just watch how God grows, what he's given us, how he expands our tent stakes, and how he helps us to reach more people and help more people with the God given gifts that he's given us. All right y', all, I have an exciting episode coming up next all about setting goals according to the Bible. So I just pray that you'll have divinely inspired ideas as you sit and plan out content, that you would hear the Holy Spirit, that you would be obedient and not fearful to do what he's called you to do, and that you would be faithful in what he has given you to do. All right, In Jesus mighty name. Amen. Yo. Bye. Thank you so much for listening in today.
