Welcome to Skin in the City. It's Casey. If you haven't listened before, welcome. If you're back, welcome back. I'm sitting here, try to. You're getting a solo episode for me because I feel like we haven't had, like a little good catch up moment in a while. As you guys know, I've been like, back to getting like, regular on the podcast, but I don't know, I'm going to probably try and finish out the next couple of like, weeks for the year, but then I might be shifting again. Shocker. If you've been following me for a while, the. The shifts have been real. The shifts keep happening. But as I tell you guys to listen to your intuition, I'm trying to tell myself to listen to my intuition even when it feels, like, really terrifying and scary. And maybe we'll get into that today. But I'm sitting here. I just tried the. You can hear my drink. If you're into asmr, then you're gonna love this. If not, sorry. This is Diet Coke with pickle juice. I don't know if you guys saw it. Like, Dua Lipa made this go viral. Like, I don't know, maybe a month ago. And yesterday over the weekend, I was like, I went out to some music events and talking with some friends and we're like, we need to try it. And I was like, oh, yesterday I like, was like, I need a Diet Coke. After, like, you know, a couple tequilas. I was gardening if, you know, you know, I was on the dance floor and like, we had a great time, but it's like, I need, I need a Diet Coke. And I was like, pickle juice. Honestly, after a couple tequilas might be like the best thing in your Diet Coke. And now I'm addicted to it. Like, so I'm drinking another one this afternoon. She also put like, jalapeno juice in hers, but I don't have any, so I need to go out and get some because I want to try that. I think, like, a little spicy would be good too. Especially yesterday when I was maybe like a little bit hungover from the tequila. And then I also have I'm just telling you some of my favorite things right now. I've really been in my tea era. I have almost completely broken up with coffee, which is such a crazy thing to think, because I was definitely one of those people, one of those estheticians that was running on, like, three cups of coffee and no food and seeing, like, 10 clients a day to now. I just, like, drink tea all day. I'm really in my tea tea era. I have this, like, passion fruit that I love to drink, like, in the afternoon. I also like to drink this, like, after I shower when I'm doing, like, my hair and, like, my skincare routine. I. Skincare routine. I just feel like it's very, like, I'm in my, like, self love era. And I don't know. The passion tea is igniting the passion. Like, it's pink, it's kind of fruity. But I have, like, a whole assortment of teas. And of course, I also have the tea for your face, which is the KB herbal steam. You can actually drink that. We created it for the steamer, like, for your facial steamer, but you can drink it as well. It's all organic. It's so good for the skin internally and externally. So if you haven't tried it before, you. I. What I recommend doing is, like, make yourself a cup of tea or, like, make your client a cup of tea with it and then also put it up, like, use it in the steamer for their face. Like, I love having it both ways, but, yeah, I'm like, okay, what. What else is going on besides my 5,000 drinks that I always have? It hasn't just been me in a while because I was just, like, in an era of, like, wanting to, like, talk to other people in the industry. And if you haven't listene to those. Any of those episodes, go back and listen to them. They're all really great. Like, I had so many great takeaways from each person. But, yeah, now I'm. I'm riding solo today, as you guys know, or maybe you don't know. Haley is, like, maybe a month away from having her second baby. So if it's. If I'm gonna have somebody on the podcast, it's gonna be a guest. I do have a couple other guests lined up for the end of the year, and then I'm shifting. I'm. I'm continuing to shift and listen to my intuition, and it's just telling me to, like, maybe not be in this space anymore. I think for a long. I've been. I've been doing this. I've been podcasting for a long time, and part of me loves it, and part of me is feeling tired. I don't know if you guys follow me on TikTok, but I posted last week. Like, I'm just, I'm kind of done educating. Like, I did the two summits. I hosted my own summit here in downtown la, and then I went to San Francisco and I did a demo with cosmetics, and I had so much fun. And, you know, I think I'm pretty good at it. There's always room for improvement, right? Like, if I continue to do it, get better. But something in my heart is telling me that, like, it's not actually the space I'm supposed to be in. Of course, like, I still have my education on the website. I've got all the tools. Like, I have blogs for days that I've written. Like, none of that is going away. And I thought the summit was going to, like, ignite me wanting to go and do other ones. And now after sitting with it, I'm just like, I, I, I don't know if it's. For me, it. Sometimes I feel like, you know, this space is so. Or feel so overly saturated with, like, estheticians educating other estheticians. And part of it just, I don't know, it just doesn't feel 100 good to me. And I thought maybe, like, if I come into the space, I can be, like, a positive, bright light and influence. But I also don't know if I want to fight this battle. You know, I don't. It's not my battle to fight. Like, I'm here to help you guys. I'm. I'm here to share. But with that being said, share is like my new word. Like, I want to just be able to, like, create and share and not have to necessarily, like, explain and educate. I, again, I think I'm a decent educator, but, like, I didn't get into this business to educate other estheticians. It just kind of fell into my lap and I, I, like, went with it. But now everything in my heart and my body is saying that I need to move in another direction. So, as always, like, when I'm here speaking to you guys, I'm really talking to myself, but maybe I'm talking to someone else out there that's like, either you don't want to be in the treatment room as much, or maybe you want to be in the treatment room more. Maybe you have a second job that you, like, been wanting to quit, but you're afraid, or maybe you Know you want to switch from facials to waxing or waxing to facials. You know what I mean? And if there's something, like, in your heart, in your gut telling you to do it, just try. You know, you don't have to do it overnight, but just start moving in that direction. There's a lot of special things happening in the world, in the universe, if you believe in energy, if you believe in astrology, if you just believe in something bigger than yourself. I really believe there's a lot of big shifts happening, and I think the shift starts with us. So, as always, I'm trying to be as honest and transparent as possible with you guys. And I'm shifting while drinking my Diet Coke with pickle juice and tea and not drinking coffee anymore. And that sounds so silly, but sometimes it starts with that. It's like, I just started, like, I. I thought I loved coffee, but, like, every time I'd say coffee, like, my stomach would just, like, hurt. And then I realized how much anxiety it was giving me, and then that, like, bleeds into, like, every aspect of my life. So I know it sounds small, but sometimes even just a small shift from, like, not drinking coffee to drinking more tea can eventually get you to a place where you're making bigger decisions in your relationships, in your friendships, and in your career, and maybe in your business. So with that being said, I did have the best time at my summit. I had a really special group of amazing women, and we had such a special day. And, of course, like, part of me, like, wants to do more. But again, I feel like there's, like, a bigger picture for me, and I'm not sure what that's going to look like. I do still have a new product coming out, but I am going to hold off on that until early 2025, because I am just in the era of, like, trusting my gut and not rushing and following, I don't know, following my. My heart, my soul, my cycle. That's another thing I've been doing. I've been. For all my ladies out there, I've been seed cycling not that long, Maybe a month and a half. And seed cycling is amazing for your hormones. And I think a lot of people. I don't know about you, but, like, I was on birth control from, like, 17 to 31. Like, that's a long time to be on synthetic hormones. And I thought, like, okay, I'm gonna go off, and, like, everything will be just, like, fine. But. And it is fine. And I've always had a regular cycle on, and off birth control, but it has affected. I can just tell it's affected just my body in general. And why not add some seeds to my cycle to improve the way I function, but also honor how I'm functioning? Hopefully you guys are still following me, but I made it really simple for myself. And so if you want to try or, like, join as well, here's what I do. I have pumpkin seed. Let me see if I can remember. Pumpkin seed and flaxseed that I ground together in a blender. And I have that, like, the first two weeks of my cycle, and then the second two weeks I rotate to sesame seed and sunflower seed. I also blend those up and I keep them, like, in a cute little jar. And I literally just do a teaspoon in my yogurt in the morning or, like, whenever I have yogurt, which is another one of my random hyper fixations. I think it's because I've been, like, on this, like, gut healing journey as well. That's why I've, like, removed the coffee. It's caused a lot of inflammation in my body and in my skin. And so I think all these things are helping, like cutting the coffee, cutting the caffeine. Like, I'm drinking caffeine free Diet Coke. I drink caffeine free tea sometimes. I still have the mushroom coffee, but that literally only has, like, a few milligrams of caffeine. And I'm having it after I eat. And I know there's so many of us that are just struggling with our inflammation in our body, inflammation in our skin, as well as fighting it with our clients. And these things have really just helped me feel better on a daily basis. But it's not a quick fix. It's not like one day I woke up and I lost £100. Do you know what I mean? It's just like, it's a very slow, consistent process. But I also damaged my body for so many years in so many different ways. So, yeah, I'm loving the seed cycling. And with the seed cycling, I'm just honoring, like, my energy levels. So there's gonna be days or even weeks where, like, I'm lower energy, and then, like, this week I'm higher energy because, like, I'm in that cycle of the month. So, like, I'm honoring that by, like, recording a few more podcasts, hopefully, like, getting some more stuff out there so that when my energy dips, like, I have the time and the space to rest. So maybe you can do that too. You know, it's like can you start planning out your life? Or even before you start planning out your life, just pay attention. Can you pay attention to your body a little bit more? Like, how is your energy level depending on the day of the month? Of course this is more for my ladies rather than my guys because men, you guys have a 24 hour cycle and you just every 24 hours, you're brand new. Where women were typically like 28ish days. But anyhow, that's just some like random side fun facts about what's been going on with me. What else? I've been singing a lot still and I think that's what's also been pushing me to shift. And I've been in this industry a long time and I love it and I love you guys, but I'm feeling called to do more and I figured why not share on here a little bit and if you want to join me on the journey of wherever I'm going next, please do. And if you don't, that's okay too. But just leaning into, you know, it started with like the holistic skin care for myself and holistic treatments in the treatment room and now is spreading to just living a more holistic life fully with breath, work and meditation and constant regular gentle movement. A lot of energy work. Again, paying attention to like my cycle, paying attention to the cycle of the moon. Just like doing all these little things that help me feel better. You know, it's like, go outside, touch some grass, look at the clouds, cut fresh roses when you want to cleanse your house, Sage, your house. Yeah, it's feeling good. It's also feeling terrifying and exciting at the same time because I don't know what this next venture is going to look like. But again, just to be completely transparent with you guys, like, I don't want to in this moment. And again, I could change my mind tomorrow because I do change my mind often. And that's another thing. Like I just allow myself to change my mind. But right now I don't want to be like another educator in this space again. I have educational content and videos that you're able to purchase, but that's not going to be what I'm sharing anymore. You know, I was like, it's so crazy. I was like thinking about it. Well, I was thinking of a couple things. First off, this song came on yesterday. It's called Wild Horses. I don't know if you guys have heard of it before and it literally took me back. I don't know if you guys ever have like a sound or A song or a smell that just, like, takes you back to something. And that happened to me last night, and it was the song Wild Horses. And I literally had a flashback. Like, I have been in the treatment room so long that, like, I had a CD and I had this, like, old CD player that I'd put underneath the treatment bed with, like, a mixed CD that someone else had made with this song on it. And I was like, wow. Like, I was in the treatment room when people were still using CD players, and it's like, well, no wonder. Like, I'm feeling like I want something different because I've been doing this a long time, and I. From the time that I was playing that CD to now, like, I have changed so much. The industry has changed so much, and I don't know exactly where I fit in anymore. And I've always, like, kind of created my own space. But with creating my own space, it's been difficult to see other people take a piece of my space that I've been so open to share and try and use it as their own, but that's just kind of like, you know, how life works, and that's okay. And of course, like, you know, I'm starting, like, a new venture with, like, singing and music and what am I doing? Of course I'm gonna, like, sing other people's songs and try and sound like other people because, like, I'm new in that space. So, like, I get it, I understand it. I respect it. But it doesn't make it any less difficult for me to, like, every time I come out with something, there's someone right behind me taking, you know, the idea. But with that said, I am really excited about my new product that no one has come out with yet. And we're gonna make a really big deal about it. We're gonna have a party. It's gonna be so fun, so stay tuned for that. But, yeah, it just. You know, I've been in that treatment room since CD players were still playing under the treatment bed, and that is just, like, not how life works anymore or looks like. Does anybody even have a CD player? I think I have one in my car still, but just. It's just. It's just wild. Oh. With that being said, I love you guys. Thank you for listening all of these years to this podcast, to my past podcast, to following me, to buying my products, to supporting me, to sending me kind words, because they. I hear you. I feel you. I appreciate you. And I'm excited to do my best to continue to share this journey with wherever I'm going, even though I'm not sure and I'm terrified and I want to throw up a little bit and I'm excited. And as always, I just want to be as like, honest and transparent as possible because like I said, maybe someone else needs to hear this too. But make sure that you're protecting yourself a little bit more. You're trusting yourself a little bit more, you're resting a little bit more. Especially, you know, from here to the end of the year, there's just a lot more energies going around. The holidays can feel a little intense. It's also like esthetician busy time of year, which is like beautiful. Just make sure that you're blocking time out for self care for a walk around the neighborhood for a little bit more sleep, a little bit more tea and a little bit less coffee. Or at least like eat something before you have the coffee so you're not burning a hole in your stomach. And I'm going to continue to show up as honest as I can. But like I said, I do have a couple guests already scheduled for the next couple of weeks and then we'll see what happens. Tell me what you want. Tell me what you want to hear. Tell me what you want to see. Tell me how you're feeling. You can always send me a dm, an email, a voice note. All are welcome. I appreciate you guys. Make sure you're following me on Instagram and TikTok AzeeBoone skincare, because as always, I'm still posting there. You can also follow my personal account if you care. It's iconic disco queen. I think I'm going to just start blending stuff life together even more because I don't want to feel. I think that's what it is. It's like I don't want to feel like I have, like, two separate lives and sometimes I kind of do. And I want to be able to kind of like merge those lives together. But I also don't want to be like, on the Internet all the time. Right. I don't want to, like, identify with, like, my life as just the parts that I'm posting on the Internet because it's so much more than that and I'm so much more than that. We all are. And I just see so many people getting so caught up in their Internet life that they're on their phones way too much. And I've just been on my phone thinking, ugh, like, I don't want to be on here. And then I catch myself being on there. So that's my cue to get off the computer and off the phone today. And yours, too. I hope you're listening to this. Either you're driving, or maybe you're taking a walk. Or you can later today. But I love you. Thank you. And I will see you or you'll hear me next week. Bye and always.
