So the other day I was reading this groovy book and there was a quote about the nine months that we spend in utero. And every single one of us spent those hopefully nine months in utero. And the quote is the primary characteristic of this nine month journey is what I call surrender. There was nothing for us to do. Somehow our source of being, in its infinite wisdom, was going to do it all. We and our birth mother allowed the great Dao to do what it does. The truth is that we were doing nothing. We were simply being done, unquote. I love that, I love that, I love that, I love that. And I'll tell you why. I'm not very good at willing my way to things. You know, I have about three days of willpower in me and that's about it. And weirdly, it's not even that my willpower wanes on day four. It's like I wake up and completely forgot that I even had a goal in the first place. It's as if my conscious mind and its executive function designed to oversee and control things, just isn't that strong. So intuitively I've defaulted to other more passive ways of approaching life. Because if my conscious mind wasn't going to power this car, I had to find a deeper engine. And that's good because it caused me to learn about and work with my subconscious mind. And it's been a very interesting experience. I've had to surrender some of my desires, or what I thought were my desires, and feel out where the big energy was, what did I really want, where was the energy really flowing. And instead of muscling my way to where I thought I wanted to go, the journey became about releasing obstacles that I had in my own way, letting open the floodgates and the dams that I've installed against the bigger energies of life. And in that respect, I've learned what that quote was saying. Life does me. I don't do life, life does me. So it was a real revelation to hear someone else say it. I felt really relieved and like I hadn't had this sort of cop out existence. Now you may have a very strong conscious mind and feel very confident about steering your life. And that's great, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

discovered that muscling our way to what we want or how we want to feel doesn't always work, let's practice some relaxation yet again and let life do us.

You know, we spent a lot of time here learning how to let the day go, softening the body, quieting the mind, creating that space where rest can begin. And I really believe that those things are what matter most. But sometimes a small detail can support that process. And for me, that turned out to be my bedding. I recently switched to the bamboo sheet set from Quince and I felt the difference immediately. They're incredibly soft, almost silky, but still light and breathable so you don't overheat. It just makes getting into bed feel like a softer landing at the end of the day. Quince has everything you need for a bedroom refresh, from airy sheets to lightweight duvet covers, all designed to feel light

and comfortable through the night.

And what really surprised me was the price. It feels like luxury bedding, but it's 50 to 80% less than similar brands because they work directly with ethical manufacturers and refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use.
