Hi, I'm Janie, and welcome back to Sleep Magic. I'm so glad you're here tonight for this journey together. Now just settle in, get nice and comfortable. Because tonight you don't have to lead, you don't have to steer. You can simply rest and be a passenger on this ride. And I'd love to thank our listeners, each and every one of you who leave comments, who leave reviews. Thank you for your interactions and for being a part of our sleepiest community. There's something uniquely calming about being a passenger, don't you think? As you can watch the world drift
by,
no responsibility to direct what comes next or where you're going. I remember being a tiny passenger in the car as my parents would drive my brothers and me from California all the way to Texas each summer to visit my grandmother.
What a drive that was.
But how glorious that steady rhythm of the car in motion felt. I just listened to the quiet hum as we rolled along the highways, a kind of steadiness that would instantly put me into a dazed and dreamy state. It felt like I was somewhere in between awake and asleep, until eventually sleep would pull me all the way in. That passenger sleep has truly been some of the deepest sleep I've ever had, and I wonder if you can relate to that. In fact, tonight you're invited to let go of control in that very same way, to release the need to manage another task or make another decision. Because right now you can just allow yourself to be driven into the deepest
rest
where you can ride as a passenger toward your favorite place in the world, wherever that is for you. I'll take you there. Now, before we begin our only AD break that makes this magic possible to go AD free, follow the link in the show notes

One thing I hear from listeners all the time is how difficult it can be to quiet a mind that never fully slows down, especially for those of you with adhd. And that's actually something we're exploring in an upcoming hypnosis episode because the racing thoughts overwhelm and exhaustion can be so real. But I also think it's important to say that sometimes relaxation, self help, or even therapy aren't the whole answer. Sometimes you need more specialized support. Talkiatry connects you with real psychiatric care so you can better understand what's going on and get a treatment and medication plan that works for you. Toxiatry is a 100% online psychiatry practice that provides evaluations, diagnoses and ongoing medication management for conditions like adhd, depression, insomnia, and more. Unlike therapy, only platforms. This is psychiatry. You're meeting with a licensed medical provider who can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication where appropriate. And because their clinicians are in network with major insurers, you you can use your existing coverage instead of paying huge out of pocket costs. Head to tokiatry.com sleepmagic to complete the short assessment and get matched with an in network psychiatrist in just a few minutes. That's toxiatry.com sleepmagic to get matched in

Okay, now it's time to let your mind begin to soften and feel yourself being driven toward effortlessly. It's time now to drift, drop and let go.
Tonight, you are simply along for the ride. And perhaps somewhere inside of you, your mind remembers this feeling. The feeling of being very young, resting quietly in the passenger seat or stretched across the back seat beneath a soft blanket while someone else takes care of the road ahead. I'll be here to guide you tonight. You don't have to make any decisions or plans. No effort, just gentle movement as you settle in deeper and allow your body to soften into wherever you're resting right now. Just feel that support beneath you and feel yourself being carried. And perhaps you can imagine the soft click of a car door closing and the muffled quietness inside. The comfort of being tucked safely within your own little world. The seat beneath you is comfortable, so feel yourself sinking into it even more.

The seed is molded perfectly around you, holding your body, every muscle, every place that no longer needs to work right now. And perhaps you pull a soft blanket up around yourself. You can feel its warmth against your shoulders, against your chest, laying over your legs as the temperature is just right. Not too warm, not too cool, just comfortable, Perfectly so. And then, very gently, you notice it. The car begins moving. A tiny shift, a barely noticeable rolling sensation. Soft, Smooth, Steady. And your body naturally understands what to do, Because bodies have known movement much longer than minds have bodies no rocking, floating, drifting. Bodies know being carried. So notice now the gentle vibration beneath you, that quiet hum, so soft and steady. It's not loud, not distracting, it's just subtly present, the tiniest vibration. And you can feel that vibration traveling up through the seat, through your legs, through your back, Like tiny waves of comfort. A constant rhythm. Steady, predictable, safe. And without any effort, your body begins syncing with it, as though every muscle naturally begins loosening with every small movement beneath you, notice that your shoulders begin to release, the jaw unclenches, Your eyes soften. Arms heavier, legs softer. And everything settling deeper. And there is something almost magical about being carried somewhere. Can you feel it? There is nothing at all you need to do here but just rest.

and feel yourself lull deeper and deeper into that calm. You might imagine yourself looking out the window now. No need to focus on any one thing. You're simply observing, watching as the scenery slowly drifts by. You might notice the street lights passing one after another, small pools of warm light, light appearing and disappearing, Appearing and disappearing, much like sleepy thoughts that simply come and go. Perhaps there are distant trees that pass in silhouettes, Gentle shapes beneath the evening sky. Perhaps there are little houses, their windows glowing softly, each of them tiny glimpses of other quiet lives, other peaceful evenings. And you simply watch them pass. There's nothing to hold on to, nothing to follow. Everything just drifts on by. And perhaps your mind remembers those long dries, perhaps from many years ago, As sleep was slowly creeping in. He watched the lights beyond the car blur as you try to keep your eyes open. But they just felt heavier and heavier and heavier, just as they do right now. Until eventually the eyes would close completely and sleep simply came. You didn't even have to try. Sleep has always known where to find you. And tonight that deep sleep recognizes you again. And it finds you right here, a passenger on this journey. And as the road stretches gently ahead, is smooth and endless. And you are in no hurry. There is no rush, No destination you need to think about. I am here to guide the journey so that you can just rest. Your only responsibility is comfort. And perhaps you notice the tires rolling over. Small little changes in the road, tiny rhythmic sensations, Soft vibrations, A gentle movement beneath you. It may feel as if you're being rocked, Or perhaps it feels as if you're floating, Or maybe like you're drifting on quiet water. Whatever you are feeling right now is so deeply serene. And the scenery beyond the car becomes even softer now, Less defined. Lights become little glowing blurs, melting into ribbons of color. And your eyes have become even heavier now. And heavier now. And heavier now. There you go. Your body temperature warms ever so slowly, slightly. Your thoughts slow and slow some more. Should one thought appear, you notice that it just rises and then drifts away. With another thought. It rises and drifts away. No need to hold them, because thoughts are just scenery too, passing by the windows of your mind. Nothing to chase, Nothing to stop. You can simply watch them pass right on by. And now the vibration beneath you becomes softer, gentler, More distant. The road is smoother, The night quieter, Your breathing slower, deeper, Nice and easy. You may begin to feel as though you're drifting somewhere between awake and asleep. That beautiful play where dreams begin, whispering softly at the edges of awareness. There is nothing to do, Nothing to think, nothing to become. Just rest, just warm, Just being carried, Driven to your deepest sleep. And as the road continues gently beneath you and the lights continue drifting quietly by, your body can surrender a little more now, and a little more. And a little more. That's right, feeling heavier now, Heavier now, Sleepier. So sleepy, More and more comfortable. So cozy. On this ride, You're just allowing the journey to continue. Allowing sleep to come naturally, Easily, Effortlessly, While the night carries you softly forward, further and further. And further. Into deep, Restful, Peaceful sleep. Deep sleep. And perhaps now, somewhere along the journey, you notice tiny drops of rain beginning to touch the windows. Just a few at first. You hear them entering your dream state, for you have already drifted into your first level of sleep. You can hear the rain pitter patter on the windows. Small silver beads arriving quietly. One and then another. Then several more tiny little trails of water, each sliding slowly across the glass. You can feel. Wonderful, wonderful rhythm of the rain coming down over the top of the core. Little rivers moving down the sides of the core. All through the night. And your thoughts drift like the rain, softening as the windshield wipers move gently back and forth. Path. And for. Slowly, rhythmically, Almost like breathing. Breathing. Back and forth, Back and forth, Clearing the window, making everything briefly, sure before the softness returns again. And with each movement you may notice your own breathing returning to a natural, comfortable rhythm. Breathing in, Breathing out. Nothing at all is forced, Just easy, natural wrath. The road stretches onward through different places, Different landscapes, Different little moments. Vast open spaces beneath the evening sky. And you're already dreaming. Drifting through magical places while the world moves outside. Your body becomes even more still and even more still. Heavier and heavier. As I count you from 20 to zero, you drift into the deepest sleep. You allow yourself to be driven to sweet slumber. At 20, your body is so heavy and relaxed. Your forehead smoothed, Your cheeks softened, The jaws relaxed completely. Night let your shoulders sink. There you go. Arms grow pleasantly heavier and heavier, soft. All while your chest rises and falls with ease. Eight. Everything settles in to the heaviness, To the comfort. Your whole body understands that there is absolutely nothing expected of it right now. 70 is 16. A feeling of safety moves through you. How wonderful that is to feel so safe. This feeling of being carried. 60. A feeling of letting go. To drift, draw and let go. And let go. 15 is 14. Notice again the gentle movement beneath you. Tiny vibrations, Soft humming. 13. Now. Every little vibration can feel like a wave of relaxation moving through your whole, whole body, Traveling upward and through your feet, your leg, Your hips, Through your stomach, Your chest, Your shoulders and your face. Tiny way, One after another. 12 is 11. Like a lullaby your body already understands. At 11, the scenery outside grows even softer still. Now. Wonderfully blurry. Lights become stars. And you're dreaming. Asleep. Arrives quietly. There's that sudden shift. 10. Floating further, deeper and deeper into sleep. Sleep. 10 is 9. The road continues, continues beneath you, endlessly smooth, Endlessly gentle. Nine now is eight, carrying you onward. While your breath slows. And your body softens. And your thoughts. Thoughts drift further apart. Long spaces between thoughts. Now. Seven quiet spaces. Six peaceful spaces. And at 5. In those spaces, sleep begins settling around you. Like a warm blanket. Sleep knows where you are. It is with you, traveling quietly within you, Pulling you in deeper and deeper. At 6, now is 5. Soft. And 4. Heavier. At 3, Sleep here. At2. Peaceful. Add1. Further now. Into d. Restored. Sleep. Good night.
