Tonight. Manifesting your goals. Mmm, yeah, let's do some manifesting. I did an episode on this a couple of years ago, but it's one of those topics that bears repeating and repeating. Now, I've been reading a book recently called the Pleasure Trap, and I found it really interesting, especially as it relates to this topic. Now, in the beginning of the book, the author talks about this bird. It's a male bird called the gray shrike, and his instinct is to mate with a female bird. That's on a very basic, instinctive level. That's his goal. And as it is for many birds, he needs to gather stuff to make a nest, to prove to potential mates that he would make good boyfriend material. And he's wired to have a huge chemical reward in his brain when he finally connects with his future bride. But until he finds her and she accepts him, he has to gather stuff and make himself sort of worthy. But he doesn't just, like, schlump around while he's doing that, just like depressed, gathering twine and feathers and leaves, all sad and doubtful, just biding his time until Miss Perfect flies by. He is also wired to enjoy this process, to experience a type of bird happiness as he works toward his goal. And to me, that's one of the most important and secret components of manifesting. We are meant to set a goal, define some desire to which we are deeply connected. And then, like the bird, we have faith that it will happen. And we enjoy the process of getting there. We imagine it, we delight in it, and we're sort of thrilled by the journey itself before the big payoff. And when I discovered that that part of the process was in the wiring of not only us, but this bird. And it's not just some technique developed by humans. Oh, wow. It let me really relax into it, gave me permission to feel happiness on my way to achieving my goal. That. That wasn't some weird Pollyanna attitude. It's in nature. Not only is it not deluded or naive, it's the structure of our overall success as a species. Enjoying the process and manifesting, it's all really normal and natural. So tonight we're going to set a goal and enjoy our journey in achieving it. So get yourself into a safe and comfortable position and let's Begin. Just allow your eyes to close easily and gently. Oh, so nice to be here in bed, letting go. Just bring your awareness to your breathing for a moment. And you don't need to do anything interesting with your breath. We're just bringing your awareness, which has been outside of you all day in the world, exploring things, thinking things, solving problems. We're bringing that awareness back to the body, back to this moment, back to the breath. Good. And you can do that at any point, day or night, bringing your awareness back to the breath, gathering all your energy and nourishing yourself just for a moment. It's very powerful to be able to come home to yourself. Good. So bring your awareness now up into your eyelids. I'd like you to imagine that your eyelids are feeling heavy and tired and sleepy. Just imagine that they're feeling tired. And by imagining it, your eyelids are relaxing. Now, I'd like you to imagine that your eyelids are so relaxed that they simply will not open. And of course, this is a ridiculous idea. I know your eyelids could open if you want to open them. But in a moment, I'm going to ask you to test your eyelids to make sure they won't open. And I want you to fake it. You're pretending. And that may sound silly, but pretending is very powerful. So imagine now that your eyelids are so relaxed they will not open. I'd like you to wiggle your eyebrows while your eyes remain closed. Just give them a little tug. Good. Now, this relaxation that you have around your eyes, this lovely heavy feeling, is the same quality of relaxation you will soon have throughout your entire body. So let's imagine the relaxation around your eyes now spilling back into your head. Imagine this warm cascade of relaxation moving back into your brain, and it's taking over every single cell of your brain. Like your brain is soaking in relaxation and your head is suddenly feeling very, very heavy on the pillow. And you let it sink into the pill. As you allow the relaxation now to move down through your neck, down into your shoulders. And the muscles of your shoulders are softening, loosening, sort of melting into the bed. And as your shoulders are relaxing, that warmth, warm relaxation that started up around your eyes is moving down into your arms now, as your arms are becoming heavy, heavy, and the heaviness is spilling all the way down into your hands. And the palms of your hands are feeling warm and open. Perhaps the palms of your hands even tingle a little as the relaxation moves down now into your fingers. Every finger is feeling full, heavy, and totally relaxed. Totally relaxed. During this recording, you may be aware of the sounds going on around you in your environment. Sounds from other rooms, sounds from outside, sounds even from within your own bedroom. But from this moment on, no sound that you hear will bother or disturb you in any way. In fact, from this moment on, any sound that you hear, like the sound of an air conditioner or traffic on the street, or noises from another room, those sounds will actually cause you to go deeper and even deeper into relaxation. As you accept the suggestion that those sounds are taking you deeper, bring your awareness to any sounds going on around you and let them take you deeper. Good. Isn't that cool? The sounds are just vibrations. And if you decide that they're taking you deeper, they simply move through your body as you are becoming more and more relaxed. And the only sound you may pay any attention to is the sound of my voice. But even the sound of my voice is taking you deeper and deeper. And very soon, the sound of my voice will sound distant, detached, as you let go and let yourself drift and float and dream. CUT. As that lovely, warm relaxation moves down your back, all the way down from your shoulder blades down your spine into your pelvis, your sacrum, your pelvis is feeling very heavy, heavy on the bed. You notice that as your torso is relaxing, releasing, that the muscles you hold in the front of your body, your chest and your belly, they too are softening, releasing, letting the day evaporate as you open up to this space inside of you that's gently expanding as your breath deepen, drops into your belly. Now the relaxation is moving all the way down your legs. And you notice that your legs are becoming very heavy on the bed. And that's okay, because the day is done. And the relaxation moves down into the soles of your feet. And the soles of your feet feel warm to open. Perhaps they even tingle a little. As the relaxation moves down now into your toes. Every toe feeling full, heavy and relaxed, I'd like you to bring to mind a goal or an intention. You have just one. A vision of something you would love to experience in your life. It doesn't have to be perfectly clear. Maybe it shows up as an image. Maybe a word, a color, a symbol. Perhaps it's simply a sensation in your chest or your belly. Trust whatever arrives and just allow the feeling of it, the essence of it, to rise in your body. Right now. Good. Now I'd like you to imagine that you're standing at the edge of a path that winds through a forest. The ground feels solid beneath your feet. The cool air caresses your skin. And somewhere ahead at the end of this path is a treasure chest. It now contains your vision, your desire, your dream or your goal. And every step you take will bring you closer to it. You take your first step. Feel the shift in your body as you move forward. It feels good to move, good to seek your treasure. You walk for a while, enjoying the fresh air of the forest, the sounds of the birds. A lovely anticipation is building in your heart. You arrive at a tree trunk, flat and smooth like a table. And on it is a map made of parchment, glowing faintly in the waning sunlight. You touch it, enjoying its old fashioned texture. And this whole experience is feeling like a delicious adventure. As you look at the map, you experience clarity. The map is orienting you toward your goal. It is your guidance, your intuition. It helps you see the way ahead. And as you take a nice deep breath, certainty in spreading through you, steadying you, aligning you. The air feels charged with possibility, as if your treasure is already pulling you toward it. As you study the map, it relaxes you, connects you. You feel the future unfolding in your Having consulted the map, you walk on. The path is soft and welcoming. Sometimes it rises up gently and your breath quickens and then the path angles down, allowing you to enjoy the view. The closer you get to your treasure, the more relaxed you're becoming, the more you're enjoying this journey. The sun is setting now and a soft light is coming through the forest. You arrive at a large tree with a lantern hanging from one of its branches. The golden flame inside the lantern is giving off a beautiful glow. You take it down from the branch and the warmth of the lantern travels into your chest, filling you with hope. This flame is your inspiration and you feel it burning inside of you. Notice the glow radiating through your ribs, your spine, your shoulders. Feel how it lights up your heart. Every breath you take is expanding this feeling. As your chest is opening, you feel lighter, brighter, supported by the light. Carried by the light, you continue along the path, following the map and holding the lantern, feeling the light inside of you. You feel so good inside. The sky is becoming a deep beautiful blue and the crickets are chirp. And as you continue to walk, you're going deeper and deeper into relaxation. You arrive at yet another tree and see a key hanging from a nail on the trunk. It is smooth and solid. And as you remove the key from the nail, power flows into your hands and it flows into your arms and settles into your heart. This key is your power. You are already connected to your treasure, already able to unlock it. You are aligned with Your goal. And this brings joy. A ripple of joy moving through every cell, your whole body alive with creative energy as you smile, placing the key in your pocket and moving forward. Deeper into the forest. Deeper into relaxation. As the air cools down, you detect the smells of the forest, pine needles and the lovely scent of the earth. You feel present with every step, your feet connecting with the ground. And as you walk, the lamp swings and the light plays on the path. You consult your map and arrive at another tree. It has a hollow in its trunk, a natural cavity where an old limb has fallen off. The map tells you to reach inside. You feel something small and soft, like a pouch. As you touch it, you detect that it is filled with small stones or gravel. You pull it out from the hollow and see that it is a suede pouch with a leather drawstring. You tease it open and spill the contents of the pouch onto the palm of your hand. They are precious jewels, sparkling and radiant. You sit down on the floor of the forest and let the light of the lamp spill onto your hand. The gems are dazzling. And you know deep inside that everyone represents something you already possess. Life. So you consider them carefully. A ruby for love. A diamond for health. An emerald for home. An amethyst for knowledge. A sapphire for wisdom. An opal for all of your relationships, family and friends. With every gem, you feel gratitude for these things you already have. They gleam and sparkle with the richness of your life. And as you feel the weight of the gems, you feel the abundance you already possess. And a beautiful warmth spreads through you as you go deeper and deeper. You stand up, and the ground beneath you feels stronger, as if it will carry you forward. You realize you don't need to pull. Push. The path is leading you. The gratitude you feel is propelling you. And so, with the map, the lantern, the key, and the pouch of jewels, you approach a clearing in the woods. You feel drawn to it, drawn by something magnetic and inevitable. You see the treasure chest, half buried in the earth. Its wood is solid, its iron bands gleaming faintly. You kneel before it. You are relaxed, peaceful, fully present. And one by one, you place the tools around you. The map, because you always know the way. The lantern, because the light is always inside of you. The pouch of jewels, because your life is full of abundance. And you take out the key because you are already aligned with this treasure. So you slip the key into the lock. It turns easily. And the chest opens. Inside is your gold. Your vision. Your dream. See it, feel it, breathe it into your body. Now become it. Your body lightens, your heart expands. And it all feels natural, effortless. The path has carried you here, and the tools have supported you. And the treasure has been waiting all along. And now you notice that. That you're back in bed. And inside of you. Your dream is a reality already living in another layer of existence. And you are aligning with it. And it feels good, steady and peaceful. And yours. As you drift and flow and dream it, it.
