So tonight we're going to talk about how we access the subconscious mind and how that helps you sleep. Now, if you've been listening for a while, you've probably noticed that I often ask you to do something a little unusual, like wiggling your eyebrows or imagining your eyes cannot open. And if you've ever thought, what's the point of that? You are not alone. So here's what's happening, okay? As humans, we're operating from two different minds. There's the conscious mind, which analyzes and tries to stay in control. And then you have a subconscious part of your mind which is more imaginative, more intuitive, and deeply connected to how you feel. Now, during the day, the conscious mind, that sort of controlling mind, tends to take the lead. But when we're trying to sleep, that constant thinking or controlling can actually get in the way. So what we're doing here is gently inviting that part of the mind to soften and allowing the more imaginative, receptive, subconscious part of you to come forward, because that's the part of you that knows how to relax, how to let go, how to drift. So when I'm asking you to imagine that your eyes won't open, I'm inviting your imagination forward, asking the imagination to lead. And that's inviting your subconscious mind to the forefront. Now, this isn't some weird magic. You already do this. When you daydream, when you get lost in a story or a movie, when your mind begins to wander. And that ability is incredibly powerful. It's part of how we process things, how we settle, how we return to a more balanced state. the day to let your awareness just settle on the breath, just for a moment. Your awareness is constantly moving around in the world, constantly learning and investigating and judging. And just let it settle on the breath. Imagine your awareness is like a little surfer surfing this wave of your breath, even if it's just a gentle wave, Feels nice to allow your awareness to settle down. Down just a bit, just for a moment. Good. Now bring your awareness up into your eyelids and imagine that the little muscles of your eyelids are feeling loose and limp and relaxed. And play pretend with me. And pretend that your eyelids are getting heavy, sleepy. And notice that as you pretend that your eyelids are heavy and sleepy, like a kid playing pretend, guess what? They become heavy and sleepy. Your body follows your imagination. So as your eyelids get heavier and heavier, I'd like you to accept the suggestion. Now that your eyelids are so relaxed that they simply will not open. And in a moment, I'm going to ask you to test your eyelids to make sure they won't open, just like we were talking about before. I'm going to ask you to wiggle your eyebrows

I can't open my eyes. When of course, you know you could. But you're going with your imagination. So accepting that your eyelids are so heavy they will not open, test your eyelids now to make sure they won't open by wiggling your eyebrows. Go for it. Great. Beautiful. Now, as simple and as silly as that was, you've just taken yourself into hypnosis. So now, as I make suggestions to your imagination, they move easily, effortlessly through your body. And this warm feeling of relaxation around your eyes now, this heaviness that you've cultivated, let's imagine it moving back into your head. Let's imagine your head feeling heavy, feet on the pillow, all the tension of the day spilling out the back of your head into the pillow, into your bed, into the floor, down to the earth. Let's imagine a mist of relaxation is moving throughout your Skull. Let's imagine this mist of relaxation. Tonight, let's make it pink. This mist of relaxation is taking over every single cell of your brain. That's a lot of cells, so it's really intense, infusing your brain with relaxation. To see that mist inside your head, feel that mist taking over your mind. Let yourself get drunk on this mist in your own mind. As the muscles of your face release and relax. Your face can let go now. The day is over. Good. So let's imagine this pink mist of relaxation moving down now through your neck into your chest. Let's imagine your whole torso filling with this beautiful mist of relaxation. Your whole torso feeling heavy on the bed, surrendering to this mist. All of your internal organs relaxing, resting, healing. They'll do their work throughout the night, but in sleep mode, where they quietly take care of you, renewing and replenishing your resources, healing, cleaning and strengthening your whole body. Imagine that mist of relaxation now moving down into your arms. Allow your arms to feel heavy. Heavy with relaxation. The day is done and your arms are off duty. And as they feel heavier and heavier, the mist moves down into your hands. Imagine your hands filling this pink mist of relaxation as all tension disappear. Disappear. Good. Bring your awareness now to any sounds that may be going on around you. Really let them in. And as these sounds going on around you enter your being, enter your relaxed body as vibration. They take you deeper and deeper into relaxation. Sounds that might have bothered you before are taking you deeper and deeper as you relax and let go. And become one with your environment. Good. So. So now let's imagine that pink mist of relaxation moving down into your legs. Every single cell of your legs filling this wonderful mist of relax. Your legs feel heavy on the bed, And yet the mist makes you feel lighter and buoyant inside at the same time. It's a weird paradox, but it feels wonderful. As you take yourself deeper and deeper. And that pink mist of relaxation has moved all the way down into your feet. Your feet that have worked all day, filling with relaxation like you've taken them to a spa. And as that mist moves all the way down into your toe, let every single toe release and let go. Good. Now that you've entered this place inside of you, This hypnotic place of your subconscious mind, It's a place where you can learn to explore and enjoy and expand. Your subconscious mind is the storehouse of your memory. So allow yourself to go back. Back. To a day in your life, a moment in your life when you felt really good. It doesn't have to be the Best day of your life. Just a moment when you felt content, Satisfied. Allow yourself to be in this place. Not is where you are. Are you alone or with people? What are you doing? What are you seeing? What are you hearing? What are you touching? What are you smelling? Enjoy this moment. It is inside of you for you to enjoy. Now. Allow yourself to move to another moment, Another moment of happiness, contentment, satisfaction. Just let yourself be here. Where are you? Who are you with? What are you seeing, Hearing, Touching, Smelling? You may find that now that you are in hypnosis, the details are coming more easily. Allow yourself to enjoy this moment. It's here for you to enjoy. As you take yourself deeper and deeper, You understand that the subconscious mind is also the home of your feelings. Imagine now that you you're sitting on a comfortable wooden bench on the shore of a lake. On the other side of the lake is a mountain. The water is very still today. You see the reflection of the mountain in the lake. The reflection is almost completely still. Just the tiniest, tiniest ripples emerge here and there. And with every. Every ripple you go deeper and deeper. As you look at the reflection of this mountain, you feel peace. Peace. As you close your eyes. And hear the gentle breeze. And feel the warm air against your cheeks. The mountain is still. And it connects with the stillness inside of you. You hear the birds chirp. As your body sinks back into the bench, Relaxing completely. You are practicing peace. And from now on, whenever you see a mountain, You will feel this peace inside of you. Imagine now that you get up from the bench and turn away from the lake and the mountain. You find yourself walking into a meadow. It is dawn in midsummer and the natural world is buzzing with. You hear the tweets and chirps of morning birds and the buzz of insects. You see butterflies floating from flower to flower. You feel the morning dew on your feet and smell the earth beneath you. You see the glint of the sun over the horizon as it begins to rise, As the sun becomes more golden. And its light hits your skin, Warming your body. You feel joy. As the sun rises. Joy rises in you. You feel expanded, Open. Your heart, connecting with the sun. You walk through the wildflower, Taking in their scents. And their beautiful delicate color. As they sway. In the breeze. The delicate morning mist is lifting and the sun is penetrating. And you feel joy. As the sun rises. Joy rises. Feel it move through your entire being, Notice what it is. To feel joy. Another person walks into the meadow. This is someone you love. A safe person whom you love. Relax and take yourself deeper and deeper. By relaxing, the deepest parts of you expand. Feel your inner being expand. As this part of you, this love from within you, reaches the other person. Watch them receive this warm glow. Notice how it feels to love someone. Open your arms and embrace this person. Feel the connection. Enjoy. Now it's time to go deeper inside yourself. Allow the person you love to continue to enjoy the meadow. As you notice, at the end of the meadow, an entrance to a cave. Allow yourself to enter this cave. And sit down around a small fire. It is safe and dark and contained in this cave. But warm. And it feels good. You find yourself watching the fire, Mesmerized by its flames, Taking yourself deeper and deeper into hypnosis. By connecting with this fire, your imagination ignites and create sparks. What do you want to create in this world? How do you want to feel in your life? How do you imagine yourself. In one month, In one year, In five years? By engaging with the fire of your imagination. Your thoughts become things. Because I have access to my own subconscious conscious mind. I feel joy. Because I have access to my own subconscious mind. I feel peace. Because I have access to my own subconscious mind. I create things. Because I have access to my own subconscious mind. I feel my intuition. Because I have access to my own subconscious mind. I'm getting stronger in every healthy way. Because I have access to my own subconscious mind. I love myself. And I let myself be. It's time to lie down now. And the cave becomes your bedroom. And you're now lying on a big, soft, comfortable bed, Safe and sound. In this warm bedroom. As you go deeper and deeper, As you drift. And float. It.
