Yes. So I pull tarot for genuinely for myself. Like, I'll do morning cards, but over Covid, I actually was like pulling for friends for fun. Even on Zoom or like after Covid, I would do it in person and it was like, I was like, oh, I'm kind of just in love with this.

You're also. I'm kind of good at this.

Well, I mean, maybe, but yeah, I've been pulling tarot for probably three years. Wow. My really good friend Dunya, who's incredible, has been pulling tarot for a while and she kind of got me into it and I was like, I don't know about this. Cause like, I've never been to a psychic before and I'm a bit of like, I don't know about this. And then when I started pulling tarot. I was like, oh, this is just something that is in your mind, you know, subconsciously. And you pull and you go, oh, that's what that thought is.

It just helped me understand things, put things into words.

Interesting, because I was. I am definitely a skeptical person.

Yeah.

I'm not an active believer in a lot of things like this, but I am also very open to, like, the possibility of stuff. And I do believe in, like. There's so much going on in my head that I don't know what that is. So it's kind of like when you flip a penny to make a decision and then it lands on the opposite thing of what you wanted. And that's how you figure out what you want.

Yes.

Kind of that vibe, so.

Exactly. And then the tarot cards can give you a sense with actual written words in there. You're like, oh. And then you have the whole day, especially if you do morning pool, which is just like one card. It's like morning pages. But then you have the whole day to be like, o. Oh, I see.

I have had tarot done before. I do want to say I'm not a skeptic, but, like, the way I was raised, just with like, African, like, my culture, we really respect witchcraft. Cause it is on and popping. So, like, I am also, like, very, like, respectful of tarot, where I'm like, oh, I don't, like, live by it. But I'm like. I'm like, yeah. You know what I'm saying? But I have had my cards pulled before. I had them pulled on the smosh pit channel, which is very fun. She said I needed to spend more time with animals. And then my first cat showed up that night. The lights went out, my cat showed up, and my life was changed. And then I also. Mm.

See, that to me is like. That to me is where tarot gets, like, really kinda cool. Cause you're like, universal. Things just happened.

Yeah, it was super wild. Cause I've never had a pet before. And then she just like, literally showed up that night. But we also made the joke of like. Oh, like the. I think her name. Emma. I wanna say her name is Emma. Or no. Irma, the tarot reader that we brought in, we were making a joke. Like, she was probably outside my house just throwing cats.

She needs to believe in me. But also, I have had the pleasure of Having Amanda pull my cards.

I have. It was what, the last day of Vidcon.

It was the last day of Vidcon in my hotel room.

Yes. And the vibes were right. Like, there was, like, background music playing. I think Harry Potter was on the tv. It was like tnt, TBS was on. And she pulled the best, coolest reading ever. And it meant so much to me. Did she cry? I don't know. And when I say she knows, who knows? I don't know. Nobody knows. But it was great. And I just think you're really great at it. And so I just feel very privileged to have that done, especially after such a long weekend. Yeah, it was really cool.

It was an amazing thing to do for you after a long weekend of Vidcon where we were, like, like, chilling, about to go home, like, so much extrovertedness. And then I pulled your cards, and it was like, voom. Like, we just zoomed in, and you were like, oh, shit. Yeah. Yes. Yes. And that was really special. Cause I didn't know what you were thinking. I didn't know the question that you asked. And it was really cool to, like, go on that journey with you. And I think that's the thing with tarot is, like, things just come to light where you're like, okay, I'll listen to that.

Yeah. You know, there's, like, a million things to think about every single day. So, like, even having, like, a little, like, push in the right direction or a direction.

[Amandalee Hankanto]

Right.

[Jackie Uwe]

Not even the right direction. A direction, I think is really cool.

Yeah. I think that's my mindset on. It is even if you're not a believer in anything spiritual, it's a nice, like, mindful exercise to do because it focuses in your thing. And when often when you're told a statement of, like, oh, you think this way. If it's wrong, that's still helpful because it kind of makes you think about what you actually think about stuff.

Yeah.

[Shane Topp]

How you actually feel about the world. And so I have actually gone to a psychic, and when I went and did it, I was very much, like, not a believer. And I. And I'm still not, like, an active believer in it, but I went and I remember doing it, and I remember walking away and feeling really good. It's kind of that. Just. Just feeling focused, feeling kind of Zen. Cause for. For an hour, you're sitting there and someone is telling you things about yourself. And some things do ring very true. And it does make you very introspective in a great way. And it was like, dare I say, enlightening. It was an enlightening experience. I didn't walk away going, oh, I know, right, right. But I did walk away going, I'm. That was worth the money that I paid and I enjoyed that. And would I go again? Yeah, like, and. But you know, like myself, I'm sure many people are viewing. Are not like active believers in that. That's okay. Like, we're not trying to convince you of anything. This is something that's important to you.

Exactly. This is just. This is something that has helped me personally. That's why, like, I don't pull tarot for people and, you know, do a business or anything. It's genuinely just for me. It's for me and my friends to pull for each other. And I think it's totally okay to be a skeptic, like, and unsure about it because I think whatever works for you, whatever helps you find enlightenment or find figure out what the fuck is going on is good for you. Like, you should do that. And for me it was tarot because I am a verbal processor and I really loved, like, understanding what was going on. Also what I like about tarot is it doesn't tell you your future. Right. It doesn't. It's not like you're gonna die in seven days. It's not the ring. But that's like, that's why I. And I still am afraid to go to a psychic. And I have not gotten my cards read by a professional that I don't know yet.

I've gotten my cards read by my friend Dunya, who's incredibly connected, just an amazing person. Also has such a great heart. And she has really helped me figure out what the cards mean. I'm like, okay, I don't really understand this card. And she like talks to me about it. So for me, I still have my skepticism. Like, I'm still afraid of specific things.

Yeah.

But I think genuinely, it's just like, what works for you doesn't always work for everybody else, you know?

Absolutely.

I will say there's nothing funnier to me than like psychics who are clearly frauds, because those do exist. Do you remember that one? There was one who was on a talk show forever ago. This is messed up. But there's a clip of this online where these parents. It's on like a. It's like a maury or a Dr. Phil type of show. Naturally, it's this old 60 year old blonde woman. Her hair is fried, she hurts, she's got just insane makeup on. And she's got cats, sure. Oh, 50. But these parents whose son had been missing came to the show, and they're like, where is our son? Like, where is our son? And she tells them face to face. She's like, your son is dead.

Oh.

The son was then found, like, a week or two later. It's like, dude, come on, at least be a better fake. Be like, it's cloudy. I. Riverbed.

Yeah, a riverbed.

Well, you know those psychics that they bring on for murders? It's like, they give them all the crime scene photos, and they're like, they're by a river, and there's.

They were probably kidnapped, murdered.

They're calling me from the dead. And you're like, dude, sorry.

You just know how crime works.

Fingerprints were found at this scene on a. And the detectives are like. And the parents are like, thank you. But I get it when you're a parent, like, oh, my God. If your child is missing, you'll ask anything. I would literally do anything.

Okay, so here's the thing. There's, like, a thing that is told with tarot that you're not supposed to buy your own deck. I've heard this before. This deck was gifted to me by Dunya, who's incredible. But I have bought my own deck, and I researched it, and it's one of my favorite decks. So I can't say if that's true. If people, like in the comments, if you guys totally believe that, that's really cool. I think you should live by that. But I have actually decided, oh, I'm gonna buy my own deck. I think it gives me more of a magical or more of connected feeling to it. So anyways, this was gifted to me. It's called the Witch's Wisdom Tarot. It's the tarot that I read for you. Have not read for you yet.

It's so cool.

So you can. They have an Instagram, which is amazing. Their Instagram. We'll link it below. But it's witches wisdom Tarot on Instagram, and Phyllis Karat does the writing, and Danielle Barlow does the art of it. And what's cool about this deck specifically is that. So tarot uses the suits, right? Swords, wands, pentacles, cups. Those are all different meanings. And then those are the minor arcana. And then the major arcana is like more of life themes, right? So, like, the star, the moon, the fool.

And when you say arcana, what does arcana mean for Shane not for me.

And D. Well, arcana is your magic intelligence.

Arcana. Arcana. To me specifically. Remember, this is all specific to my taking of this. Arcana is like magic. Like, everyday magic, everyday, spirituality, everyday. Like connection to the other world. Yeah. The unseen. Trust the universe.

That's. To me, I do believe.

Okay. And to be clear, I believe there is more stuff in the world that I do not understand than I understand. So that is exactly. And that can be called magic. That's just the unknown.

That's kind of what this is. So a major arcana, like the fool, the star. All these cards are more life themes for you. And the minor arcana with suits can be like, oh, this is a theme for you today or yesterday or this week or this month. What's cool about this is it's called the witch's wisdom. So they use earth, air, fire, water instead of suits, which is, like, pretty cool. They believe that tarot. They believe that you can find. So the original tarot decks believe that enlightenment is when you're, like, left, you know, on another plane. Like, you have to leave Earth. They believe that. Yeah, exactly. Avatar. They believe that enlightenment. No, I feel like tarot can be whatever you want it to be. They believe that enlightenment can be found right here on earth, in nature, in our bodies.

Like, maybe I, like, woke up with, like, the number five. That's just also my favorite number. Or I'll do, like, when I had my wedding, I was doing numbers of my wedding, and I was pulling the same cards all the time, which was tens, which is our completion cards. And it was like celebration, marriage, wedding. I was like, okay.

That's what the tarot lady said. Yeah. Basically, tarot could be whatever you want it to be. You can play with Uno. I'm just kidding. So the first card is my past. So how I see my past or whatever, I need to remember about that. So this deck does not do reversals. They just chill. But reversals are usually inner. Like, that's an inner thing that you're thinking about. And upright is. That's like outer world is affecting you.

So reversals is really inner. Upright is outer.

The tarot reading I got had reversals because there was a card that was upside down, and she was like, oh, that's upside down. That probably means something. And I remember at the time being like, oh, yeah, I can see why that's that way.

There's specific meanings for it. But sometimes if you just look at it and you don't have, like, a book that says all the meanings, you can just think that that's like an inner thing.
