Shane
Hello. Welcome to Smosh Mouth. I'm Shane.
Amanda
And I'm Amanda. And we have a very special guest with us today, Arasha.
Rasha
And I'm Rasha. That's how you guys said your name, gorgeous. Oh, thank you.
Shane
That is the proper pronunciation of your name.
Amanda
Yeah.
Rasha
I think I said it the same.
Amanda
What is it?
Rasha
And I'm a Rasha.
Shane
Yeah. That's how you have to say.
Amanda
That's how you have to say it.
Shane
Saying it any way other than that it's.
Amanda
You have to say it smooth and velvet.
Shane
I'm a Rasha.
Rasha
I'm a Rasha. Although I feel like. Okay, I feel like I have to very clearly say, like, I am a Rasha.
Amanda
I'm Rasha.
Rasha
Because people are always like, oh, Rasha. Or they go, marcia.
Amanda
Marsha call you Marcia is a no.
Rasha
Yeah, they take. They take the M from I'm Marasha. And they're like, oh, Mariah, in my.
Amanda
Life would I think you were a Marcia.
Rasha
Thank you.
Amanda
No, Marsha's just the Brady Bunch.
Shane
Nobody's. Nobody's named Marcia anymore.
Rasha
They could be.
Shane
There's not a single person named Marcia.
Amanda
I can't wait to call my age.
Shane
Of under the age of 50.
Amanda
I can't wait for these comments.
Shane
I hope we have listeners who are named Marcia. That'd be so cool.
Rasha
Like the Betty's.
Shane
I think Marsha is a great name. I just don't think it exists. Sylvia, like, you know, like the. Like the Tasmanian tiger. I'm just like, that's cool. They don't exist.
Rasha
Yeah, Those are older names.
Shane
Yeah.
Amanda
They couldn't afford the Tasmanian Devil.
Shane
No, no, the Tasmanian Tiger. That's. That's extinct.
Amanda
Yeah, totally. Anyways, look how competitive we're getting because we love competition.
Shane
Nice. You did it.
Amanda
You know what I want? I want a bunch of clips of us on Smoshmouth. Just trying to put the title in perfectly.
Rasha
Oh, I see. Or the segues.
Shane
Yeah. Like our journals, where I was like, you know, what I tried to save or what I wanted to save when I had to evacuate my journal journals.
Amanda
It was so brilliant.
Shane
It was very smooth.
Amanda
I roasted it.
Shane
No, it was really bad.
Rasha
Nice.
Shane
Yeah. We're talking about competition today. The super bowl is coming up.
Amanda
Super Bowl.
Shane
And I am one of two people in this office who's excited about it.
Amanda
So do you watch sports?
Rasha
Yeah, I was actually at the game last night. What, the Clippers Celtics game?
Shane
You're like, basketball.
Amanda
I love basketball.
Rasha
I like basketball.
Shane
Yeah.
Rasha
It's definitely the sport that I find, like, most entertaining. To watch. I think I like baseball.
Amanda
Call me a weirdo. I like.
Shane
How much do you watch baseball?
Amanda
So when I brought H to the Red Sox game for his first time, it was. I used to go all the time as a kid. I like got addicted to the season. I was like watching them. I was watching the Dodgers and I was like getting really, really attached. And then I just stopped because the season is, you know, done.
Shane
Yeah.
Amanda
So I don't, I wouldn't turn on. I wouldn't be like, oh, it's a regular night, I'm gonna turn it on. But if I'm like, if I'm going to a game, like, I really like going to a game. But since I moved out of Boston, there hasn't been like a stadium or a place that I'm like really into unless I go see football. Like foodball. H and I went to like bank of California a lot and that was super, super fun. That or LA Galaxy. We really liked that.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
That I'm really into. But as far as football, like football, like America football, I don't know.
Rasha
Well, okay, I went to the, I went to the new arena last night, which I was pretty into the in the in to it dome now. No, it really is called that because.
Amanda
People are into it.
Rasha
I was into it. And guess what I ate. Guess what I ate, guys. Guess what I.
Amanda
In and out.
Shane
Hot dog.
Rasha
I got a hot dog.
Shane
That's awesome.
Amanda
Of course you always have to get a hot dog at the game.
Rasha
Oh yeah.
Shane
And I feel like food at basketball games is somehow better than football games. I don't know why, like basketball's like the food just always feels really good.
Rasha
Yeah. Yeah.
Shane
You're also in an enclosed space and so things just feel a little better.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
I don't know football. When I've gone to like stadiums, you're like outside, you're exposed. It almost feels like camping a little bit.
Rasha
I've never been to a football game. I really want tailgating.
Amanda
We used to tailgate. Cuz patriots place was 10 minutes from where I grew up. So we used to go tailgating and my mom bets on the Patriots still to this day. And we would go and you were.
Shane
In betting on them to win.
Amanda
I don't know what she's betting. I was betting on. I don't think so. I think she ended the winning part when Tom Brady left. But when you tailgate. He's retired, honey.
Shane
He's an announcer now.
Amanda
He's divorced.
Shane
Yeah.
Amanda
From Giselle.
Shane
So many things happened.
Amanda
Like he left the Patriots.
Rasha
Great but oh, my gosh. I need to read up on that.
Shane
He's only. He's all football now.
Amanda
I know exactly a place where you can go. People.com.
Rasha
God.
Amanda
On it.
Rasha
Done and done.
Amanda
But, yeah, tailgating at the Patriots was like being in an ice storm with a bunch of people you didn't know and eating, like, a lot of soup and drinking a lot of beer. You had to, like, gear up.
Shane
So east coast football fans are fully psychotic. Yeah, I know, because they show, like, footage from, like, Green Bay, Buffalo, or, like, jets and Patriots, and there's dudes just shirtless. It's like, negative 5 degrees, and they're out there fully painted, basically naked in this weather.
Rasha
Yes. I got to get into football now.
Shane
Okay.
Amanda
All right.
Rasha
I want to. I want to be shirtless.
Amanda
You can do that anytime.
Shane
Well, yeah, but I want to state.
Rasha
I want to be shirtless with, like, soup and beer.
Amanda
You can have soup and beer and be shirtless in your apartment.
Shane
You should be a Viking. That's. I think that's their entire thing.
Rasha
But I want to be shirtless with soup and beer and be around other.
Shane
Like, I think that's Germany.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
I think that's just what Germans do all the time.
Rasha
Okay. All right, I'll take that. I'd go to Germany.
Shane
Yeah. Oktoberfest, I think, is.
Amanda
Go on your own.
Rasha
What?
Amanda
No, I'm just kidding. You can go with friends. Okay, I'll go with you.
Rasha
All right. Topless in Germany in October.
Amanda
I think people would. I think Germany would all fall to their. On their face.
Rasha
I think everybody wants that.
Amanda
Like, I think the world is not ready.
Rasha
Okay.
Amanda
Know what I'm saying?
Rasha
Sure, sure, sure.
Amanda
Soup and beer.
Rasha
Maybe only one of us can go, and we have to compete for that spot.
Amanda
And that would be in the clip. Shane had no idea. Shane was like, we're gonna talk about sports, and I've got this.
Rasha
We got this.
Shane
Yeah. I mean, I. Look, I think most of our listeners probably care more about this than me talking about football.
Amanda
Who wants to see Shane shirtless eating soup?
Rasha
Lots of people. Probably.
Shane
I'm at a carnival. Like, whoa, kids are crying.
Amanda
They're like, mommy.
Shane
Okay, so. But you guys both haven't kept up with NFL this year, right?
Amanda
Definitely not.
Rasha
No. Not at all.
Shane
All right. Because I would like not to spend too much time on this, because I know most of our listeners probably don't care, but I want us to make some predictions for the super bowl, okay?
Amanda
Because right now, as we know, like.
Shane
As of recording this. As of recording this, The AFC and NFC championships haven't happened, so there's four teams in the running. So the semifinals are this weekend because.
Amanda
I know who won last year. Kansas City.
Shane
They've won two years in a row.
Rasha
Because it was reversed here.
Shane
This year's. It's. It's high stakes. It's high stakes because a team is never three peded, three peated, repeated.
Amanda
What an a.
Shane
Chiefs are going for it, right? Teams have won two Super Bowls in a row. Nobody's won three Super Bowls in a row.
Amanda
Damn. Are you sure?
Shane
Chiefs are. I'm sure. Trust me, I'm sure.
Rasha
It's staged to be that way.
Shane
The Chiefs are going for it. The Patriots almost did it twice, I.
Amanda
Think, with Tom and Gronk.
Shane
Tom and Gronk. But they're going for it. The Chiefs are. There's also the Bills, who have been a cursed organization. Right? They at one point went to the super bowl four years in a row and lost all four times. Just abysmal.
Amanda
Who is. Who is their quarterback?
Shane
Josh Allen. And he's awesome.
Amanda
You met him.
Shane
I've not. What? I've never met him.
Rasha
Is he.
Amanda
Talk to picture of both of them shirtless with soup.
Shane
That'd be awesome.
Rasha
You're forgetting the beer. That's really so.
Shane
So every year. This is also an NFL thing. Every year there is a villain and a hero. There are just. It's just a thing that happens where everyone's like, that's the hero this year. We want him to win. There's no logic to it. See, but Josh Allen. Josh Allen is the unequivocal hero. It was him and Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson lost because Josh Allen and him had to face off. And it was tragic. It was like Shakespearean. It's like our two heroes have to.
Amanda
I believe that football is Shakespearean.
Rasha
It is a story.
Shane
But Josh Allen. Josh Allen is playing the Chiefs this weekend, and the Chiefs have beaten him so many times.
Amanda
Who's the villain on the Chiefs?
Shane
He's not necessarily. He's a. He's a villain now, right? There was a time when Patrick Mahomes was the hero.
Amanda
Trina is crying, laughing, because this is all true.
Shane
Alexine is the other person who likes football.
Amanda
He's catering to us. He's doing it in a very fancy way, and I love it.
Shane
Patrick Mahomes was at one point the hero because Tom Brady was the villain. Oh. And now Patrick Mahomes has won too much, which means he's the villain. That's how sports work.
Amanda
I'm fine with that.
Shane
As soon as you win too much, you're the villain.
Amanda
People.com are talking about him too much.
Shane
This is the thing. Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league. He is. He just is. But he's really a skill that he has that people hate is he's really good at drawing penalties. He's very smart. So he knows how to like play the game where you're going to get a foul like on trying to tackle him or something. Like there was in the past game he was like running out of bounds, but right before he got out of bounds he like kind of stops. So then the guy like pushes him. It didn't get called for a penalty, but it's like it looks bad.
Amanda
Villain activity.
Shane
But he's just so smart. He's really smart.
Amanda
How old is he? Seems like a baby.
Shane
He's 29, I think.
Amanda
But he started when he was probably 24. Four years old or something.
Shane
Yeah, they start when they're like four. So anyways, there's Patrick Mahomes, there's the Buffalo Bills, there's the Eagles, who they went to the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. Didn't win. They won the Super bowl like 10 years ago. They did Hotel California and they did Hotel California.
Rasha
Those are the ones with the really crazy fans too, right?
Shane
Eagles fans are notoriously insane. They are.
Amanda
Is Philadelphia.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
Eagles is Philadelphia. Yes.
Amanda
Awesome.
Shane
Bill. Bill's is Buffalo.
Amanda
Buffalo.
Shane
Buffalo Bill. And Kansas City is Kansas City.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
Of course not Kansas.
Amanda
What?
Shane
I know the hell it's not Kansas.
Amanda
My brother in law must think I'm an idiot because he is from Kansas.
Rasha
Wait, this isn't a bit.
Amanda
No. And last year during the Super Bowl, I was like, dude, you did it.
Rasha
Oh my God.
Amanda
This is.
Shane
You went to Oz and you did it.
Amanda
This is not a bit.
Rasha
Oh no. You're going to have to make some calls.
Shane
It's okay. I mean, it's close to Kansas. No people. People in Kansas.
Amanda
He's from Kansas City, so that means he's actually from Missouri.
Shane
Are you finding out you have family in Missouri and not in Kansas? Is there also a Kansas City in Kansas?
Rasha
No, no, no, it's real. It's real.
Amanda
Okay. No, there's a Kansas City in Kansas.
Shane
Kansas City in Kansas. Also. It's confusing as shit.
Amanda
Scott is a good person and that's.
Shane
Why they win, is because nobody knows where they are.
Amanda
Okay, he's from Kansas. He's from Kansas City, Kansas.
Rasha
Are you sure?
Amanda
Positive. But he loves the Chiefs.
Shane
Yeah. That's where people in Kansas like the Chiefs.
Amanda
It's not me. It's the. It's that.
Shane
Yeah, it's the name.
Rasha
Why would they.
Amanda
So Missouri is crushing it.
Shane
Well, and Kansas, it's. You're allowed to like people. Fan bases are in multiple states.
Rasha
There were a ton of cell fans.
Shane
Kansas. The state doesn't have a team. So they.
Amanda
Okay, so Kansas City is in Missouri, but Kansas. People from Kansas are like, yeah, yeah, that. I'm into it.
Shane
That's kind of like that. That's kind of how things were. A lot of people in Utah, like, Broncos. Because, like, Utah is close to Colorado. It's like.
Amanda
Right.
Shane
You're going to find that the Broncos. Yeah, my family's all about the Broncos. And they. They got to the playoffs and they lost. The Bills beat them and they. The Broncos were not good enough to win.
Rasha
I want to drive a Bronco.
Shane
They're cool looking.
Rasha
They are.
Shane
Drive it real slow on the highway for a while anyways. Nice. The other team, the last team is the Commanders, which nobody expected to get where they are. And they have a rookie quarterback, and a rookie quarterback has never gone to the Super Bowl. Whoa. But their quarterback, Jaden Daniels, is a machine. He's really good.
Amanda
Where are the commanders from?
Shane
D.C. okay, so the.
Rasha
Washington.
Amanda
Yes. Are you a conspiracy theorist?
Shane
Washington, D.C. i just.
Rasha
I just believe all sporting events are staged. Go on.
Amanda
Okay, you're getting. Okay.
Shane
People think that they talk about.
Amanda
Okay. Commanders. Chiefs. Bills.
Shane
Eagles.
Amanda
Eagles. All right, so they're all foregoing to the Super Bowl.
Shane
Only two are going to this.
Amanda
No, no, I know that the four.
Rasha
Of them are in the semifinals.
Shane
Yeah, right. Only two of them can go.
Amanda
When do we figure out what date?
Shane
Well, the super bowl is in a couple. Is in like three weeks.
Rasha
February.
Amanda
So soon.
Shane
But this is coming out. This episode is a few days before the super bowl or about a week before the Super Bowl.
Amanda
So we will not.
Shane
But we're recording this right before, like, in a couple days, the championships that'll determine who goes. Okay, so we have four options. I think we should predict my prediction. We. About a week ago here in the office, we all wrote down predictions of who's gonna go before the first round of divisionals. And everybody lost. Almost everybody lost because everybody picked the Lions or the Rams and. Or the Vikings or something. And they just. Everybody was abysmal. I am the only one who picked the Chiefs to win because this is how. This is the. This is how it goes, I'm sorry to say.
Amanda
The Chiefs.
Shane
The Chiefs are going to win the super bowl. And I hope and I say it because I hope I get to watch this episode and go, oh, I was wrong. But I'm not going to be wrong because this is how this shit goes.
Amanda
Because it's.
Shane
It's gonna be the Chiefs and the Eagles. And the Chiefs are gonna win.
Amanda
Okay. You think it's gonna be the Chiefs and the Eagles and the Chiefs and the.
Shane
That's just how it's gonna be. It's not what I want. I want the Bills to go. I want the Bills to win, but that's not gonna happen because that's what we want to happen. And NFL and sports in general are about. Are about your dreams getting crushed.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
Any sports fan will tell you that. Any sport.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
Go over to Europe and talk to any football fan. They're like, yeah, our dreams have been crushed for 200 years. That's how football works.
Amanda
Such an awesome way to spend your time. I love that.
Shane
It's fun because. Because eventually, once in a lifetime, a miracle happens.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
And your team wins.
Amanda
The Curse of the Bambino. The Red Sox truly, like. No, I know. My grandmother cried.
Shane
Yeah. It's insane.
Amanda
And nothing happens. I don't know.
Shane
Nothing happens.
Amanda
You just move on with your day.
Shane
Move on with your life.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
I do have. So when the Broncos finally won a Super bowl when I was a kid in the 90s, they had sucked or they hadn't sucked, but they just never had won a Super bowl for like decades. And then when they finally won a Super Bowl, I wasn't like, aware of what. What mattered about it. I wasn't watching sports. But we, Our house was fully decorated with blue and orange. We had a full on party because they won the Super Bowl.
Rasha
Yeah. That's cute.
Shane
It's like insane. So as a kid, I'm like, whoa, what. What holiday is it?
Rasha
Right?
Amanda
Yeah, that makes sense to me.
Rasha
I feel like it has more to do with like an. For some reason, it feels like an individual win of some sorts. Like, I feel like you invest yourself in a team and then, you know, you kind of take on their wins and their losses for yourself. I was like, I was laughing yesterday at the game because they're, you know, obviously fans are like cheering and stuff, but there was like a guy, like, way in the back and he was just like clapping and he was like, it's all right, it's all right. And I was like, they can't hear you. But that's for him.
Shane
It's so.
Rasha
It's all right.
Shane
It's all right. It's all Right.
Amanda
Dude, it's all for them.
Rasha
It's all for them. But it. But it's so fun.
Shane
It's very fun. No, it's. You have to be aware after a game of, like, none of this matters. Like, it's never let. I will never let a loss, like, affect my day. Like, the Broncos will lose. I'll be like, that sucked anyways. Yeah, but so many people are bad.
Rasha
And I.
Amanda
When I went to the Red Sox, so many people were like, what are you doing? How dare you? Like, what the fuck are they doing?
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
I don't know what's going on with them. I don't know what's going on with them. And it's like, so you don't know these men personally, but you know what I love? I get. I get, like, ramped up.
Shane
It's hard not to get. I tell you why I get so invested is because you're watching someone and this is all sports. It's like, I feel the same way when I watch the Olympics, is I'm like, this is someone's entire goal.
Amanda
Goal.
Shane
And you're watching them.
Amanda
Yes.
Shane
Maybe achieve it.
Amanda
Yes.
Shane
And you know that, like, they probably won't. Like, the chances are never in your favor. So when they do, it's such a rush. Even if it's not your team, it doesn't matter.
Amanda
Like, addicting.
Shane
I watch the Olympics. I get so into where I'm like, we gotta fucking do this.
Amanda
I'm like, this is his last.
Shane
Gotta stick that landing.
Amanda
If he doesn't get this, look at his coach. Look at his coach. He is going to leave him. Like, it. I understand fandom for sports. Like, it is. When I start to get into it and I, like, start to follow the teams, you get so invested.
Shane
Oh, yeah.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
I love it.
Amanda
I love it. I kind of love it, too. I just. For some reason, football. I think it's because I don't exactly know. Well, I don't know how to play. And. And I've tried. My mom has tried to teach me so many times, and I. I just. My mind isn't, like, attracted to it as, like, basketball or baseball.
Shane
I also don't know how people follow more than one sport. I'm like, I got to pick one. It's too much time to pick another. I kind of lightly follow, like, basketball, but I'm like, there's not enough time.
Rasha
So what was. What was really funny about last night actually, is we, you know, the.
Shane
The.
Rasha
Into a dome was actually quite empty last night. There were a lot of empty Seats. And so security was pretty lax about being like, you know, you can move up if you want to go play. Like, yeah, get on the court. Go for it. You're into it.
Amanda
You can go into it and get into it.
Rasha
And we got into it.
Shane
Go try to dunk.
Rasha
But we. We ended up going into the wall. You familiar with the wall?
Amanda
No, actually.
Shane
Don't think I know this.
Rasha
It's like. It's this, like, Clippers fandom section only. But it was, like, very empty, so we were like, we should go in there. So we went. It was. It was me and two other people. We went down, and we were, like, walking down, and all three of us are wearing Celtics merch, and they're like, yo, like, you can't wear green. Like, you can go if you want, but, like, you have to take off, like, all of your Celtics merch. I love that. So we were like, okay, deal. So we, like, took off all our stuff, but we were wearing, like, the championship.
Amanda
Sure.
Rasha
Okay. For better seats. Sorry.
Amanda
No, this was.
Rasha
This was proud. But they were like, we have shirts that we can give you to put over it. So they just gave us these, like, white shirts that say the Intuit Dome. So we have Intuit Dome merch now. And we, like, go down, and we're like. We're sitting, like, now pretty, like, up close. But security, like, comes over, and they start, like, monitoring the wall, and they're, like, watching us for, like, when we're cheering. So now the. So the entire game, it's like, the Celtics would score. We'd be like, yeah, I'm.
Shane
So security gets out their Tasers. They're like.
Rasha
They were literally standing right near us. Or the Clippers would score, and we'd be like, yes.
Amanda
You couldn't cheer for the team?
Rasha
No.
Shane
It's so funny.
Amanda
I wouldn't have moved to the wall.
Shane
That is so funny.
Rasha
It was very heavy on, like, the Clippers brand. So it was like. That was the bit we had the entire time. We were like, intuit Dome. We love the intuitive.
Shane
We just love the dome. We're here for the dome.
Amanda
Exactly.
Rasha
And then at the end, the Celtics won after overtime, so we took off the Intuit Dome shirts, like, right in our seats, and all the Clippers fans were like, that's just rude. And just, like, purposefully, we're like, get out of here. Like, what are you doing? We were like, our bad. Our bad. And we. We got out.
Amanda
Whoa.
Rasha
Yeah, that's.
Shane
That's dive.
Amanda
You, like, went through a whole journey last night.
Rasha
Oh, yeah, my. Gotta make it exciting.
Amanda
I think I would go to the wall. I think I would be like, nah, I'll sit very far away and cheer for the Celtics.
Rasha
That's. That's loyal. I.
Amanda
We just, you know, from Boston, and I know you went to school in Boston.
Rasha
I'm from Boston, too.
Amanda
She says she's from.
Shane
Everyone's from Boston.
Amanda
She's not from Boston, but she is. She's.
Rasha
I'm from Boston. I'm in Boston. I'm in Boston.
Amanda
Rush and I go through this a lot.
Rasha
Boston, Harvard, Boston.
Shane
Okay. No, I want to move on to halftime performance really quick.
Amanda
Oh, but first.
Shane
But first, who? Just pick a team. I know you're. You're.
Rasha
You don't want to. Chiefs.
Shane
You think the Chiefs.
Amanda
And you know what?
Shane
Commanders, you're gonna go with commanders?
Amanda
Yeah. I want this rookie quarterback.
Shane
I'm gonna be real honest. There's a part of me that's like, I think that could happen. Chiefs vs I think watching the games. He's a rookie. He's, like, brand new to the NFL, and it's scary how good he is. And they show him on the sidelines in the middle of, like, these heated moments where it's like, oh, shit, the other team's up by seven. You gotta get a touchdown. And they show him on the sidelines, and he's just sitting there, like, completely unfazed. I think he was an Android built by the government to win football games.
Rasha
Arasha, I love that I am with you with that.
Shane
That's going to. Look, the technology's going to be there someday where that's going to happen. No. And there's going to be an Android that's going to be like, is. Is this one the Android that's winning football?
Amanda
I can't.
Rasha
They're all plans.
Shane
I just think he could be. Because he's too good.
Amanda
Okay, well, I think it's the Chiefs with the. With the commanders, with the human rookie.
Shane
So you think Chiefs versus Commanders.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
And the Chiefs are going to win.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
Okay. Arasha.
Amanda
Because Taylor Swift's backing them.
Shane
Because I'm saying Chief Eagles, Chiefs win.
Rasha
The Chiefs are definitely going to be in the mix because that's is just what's going to make everybody more money.
Shane
I hope we're so wrong. It's going to be so fun to rewatch this episode. If the Bills are in it, I'm going to love it. I'm going to be looking at the screen, just telling myself I'm loving it. Be like, shane, you're so Fucking stupid. You're so wrong, Shane.
Amanda
My goodness.
Rasha
I feel like America loves the coming of age story, so they've probably written the commanders in Versus versus the Chiefs so that they can get money.
Shane
So you say Commanders over Chiefs?
Rasha
Yeah, I think they're going to win, but I don't know. I don't have the script.
Shane
No, that's okay. This is all. Nobody has fun and scrapped.
Rasha
The refs do.
Shane
Okay, but the real fun prediction is halftime show.
Rasha
Do we not know who's performing?
Shane
Kendrick Lamar.
Amanda
It's Kendrick Lamar.
Shane
Okay, Kendrick Lamar. But who's going to be the guest?
Rasha
Drake.
Shane
The. That's.
Rasha
That would make them a lot of money.
Shane
It's like plus 9,000 odds right now. So you could make a lot of money if you bet on that.
Amanda
I don't know. I don't know if he'll be there. I do think a lot of beef that's in the public is not real. I think it's like to get things out there, but I don't know. Their beef might be pretty.
Shane
Their beef's pretty rough. It's not like he was just like, your music sucks. Like he. Kendrick went pretty hard on Drake. I don't think Drake wants to go out there and showcase that.
Amanda
Maybe. I think I was, you know, half kidding. Haha. So I don't know. I don't know if Drake will be in the halftime show. Let me. Let me cook on it.
Rasha
Maybe the beef was like heightened in the eye of the public and it wasn't that crazy because I agree with you too. I also think that could have been aged.
Shane
Make that prediction if it happens. That's insane. My crazy prediction, my realistic one is Lil Wayne.
Amanda
That makes sense to me.
Shane
Lil Wayne's gonna come out. That makes my crazy prediction Taylor Swift.
Rasha
No, no, no, no.
Amanda
Because when the Chiefs go, wait till it happens to the Super Bowl.
Rasha
She's.
Amanda
She's gonna be in the. She's gonna be in her box and she's going to be.
Shane
Suddenly, Suddenly the Taylor Swift cam is going to appear and she's going to be gone. And they're like, where'd she go?
Rasha
No, no, no.
Shane
Is she not here supporting Travis and all of a sudden she's on stage?
Rasha
No, she's. She said to this.
Amanda
Is that a reporter? No, her tour ended. She's tired. Actually, she's probably never tired.
Shane
I don't think she's ever tired.
Amanda
Now you're making.
Rasha
No, she's tired, but I think she's just too big for. For the Super Bowl.
Amanda
Still no Way Beyonce did the Super Bowl.
Rasha
Well, yeah, but I think she's just like, I'm pretty sure she's said nowhere near close to doing the Super Bowl. Like she wants to do that way later in her career.
Shane
Okay.
Amanda
I think it might be Shakira and JLo and they're have two polls and they're just going to get it going.
Shane
What if that happens?
Amanda
Kendrick Lamar is going to be there and Shakira is just going to be pole dancing. And I loved that. You guys remember that?
Shane
Yeah.
Amanda
No, that's not my prediction. This is me just having fun with Lamar.
Rasha
Sza.
Shane
Yeah, that's.
Amanda
That's a very.
Shane
That's a very realistic.
Amanda
That actually makes the most sense.
Rasha
It could be cool.
Shane
All right.
Amanda
SZA is look, 10 day retreat right now. Did you know that?
Rasha
No.
Amanda
Got her phone.
Rasha
What?
Amanda
Yeah, she texted me. Okay. You're not supposed to have your phone.
Shane
We're all going to be bummed when we're all wrong and it's Imagine Dragons.
Amanda
No, it is not going to be imagine.
Rasha
Listen, honestly, it kind of goes.
Shane
I'm just yelling that.
Amanda
Ok, do we think? Do we think. I think. Because was it last year when they had a bunch of people there, like, was.
Rasha
That was Rihanna?
Shane
It was Rihanna.
Amanda
No, not. Okay.
Shane
Oh, I know you're talking about a few years ago where it was like, everybody.
Amanda
So do you think it's going to be Kendrick Lamar, like maybe with one guest or do we think it's going to be.
Shane
There'll be a few, but I'm just saying, like throwing out one, like, I.
Rasha
Could see Lil Wayne as well.
Shane
Yeah, I think Lil Wayne makes sense. So I want to move on to talking more about competition here at Smosh. Now that we've gotten our predictions for the super bowl, we've gotten all that stuff out of the way.
Amanda
My goodness.
Shane
But before I get into talking about competition around here at Smosh, I wanted to bring up something. I meant to bring this up at the top of the pod. Some of our predictions have already come true. We made a bunch of 20, 25 predictions and like four of them have already happened. So first one a month in. I know.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
So our fans, it turns out they're determined more than we expected. I made a couple, like, fan request predictions. One of them was, I think I want to see a chosen at a wedding. I want someone to dress up as the chosen and go to a wedding. And I was like, this maybe won't happen. Not maybe not. Not.
Amanda
I knew it was going to happen. I was like, let's wait.
Rasha
It's not the groom, though, right?
Shane
It's not, but that would be hilarious. The bride and groom clearly approved of this, and we're like, okay with this.
Rasha
Wow.
Shane
A user on Reddit posted on our smosh subreddit independent dig9881, the chosen was at a wedding. Look at that.
Rasha
Wow.
Shane
Bride and groom right there.
Amanda
Look at that.
Shane
The chosen.
Amanda
And he has a sword.
Shane
I know. He has what looks like a real. I think he has a real sword, a real katana.
Rasha
He should have officiated the wedding.
Shane
Maybe he did.
Amanda
He knights them. Yeah.
Rasha
You guys are chosen.
Shane
So thank you for doing that. That's epic. Is how happened within a couple weeks of the year.
Rasha
Wow.
Shane
Impressive. And then also, I said, someone's going to watch Smoshmouth in Antarctica. And I was like, come on. This is not going to happen. And it did happen.
Amanda
Yep.
Shane
User RTJ all day. Robert Towney Jr. All day.
Amanda
Okay.
Shane
Posted this picture in Antarctica.
Rasha
Oh.
Amanda
Watching Smoshmouth. How sick is that?
Shane
So sick. Can't believe it. There's only, I think, at any given time, a couple thousand people in Antarctica, and you have to. You have to be invited, like, on an expedition. You can't, like, just go to Antarctica.
Amanda
I know. I don't think you can. But didn't we say when you predicted that, that we were like, no, I think there are people. There are people all over the world who watch smash.
Shane
Oh, yeah.
Amanda
But I think there are some.
Shane
You said we'd be watched in 100 countries. It turns out 129 or something like that.
Amanda
So my prediction was pretty frank.
Shane
Your prediction was already true. Which is a solid way to make goals.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
Set goals that you've already accomplished or put it.
Rasha
Put it on other people to go do it for you.
Shane
Yeah. And then, Amanda, you predicted that there'd be a protein soda. It exists.
Amanda
What?
Shane
Look at this.
Amanda
Wait a second.
Shane
Protein soda.
Rasha
It's called. Oof.
Shane
Wait, once again, Amanda, predicting things that.
Amanda
Are already true literally, is called protein soda.
Shane
That's. There you go.
Amanda
And why does it look like Grecian.
Shane
Oh, e. Why do you think they're so good at pancreation? It's from their protein soda.
Amanda
Wow. 10 grams of protein in a soda.
Shane
That's actually not. It's kind of. Kind of weak numbers there.
Rasha
I feel like I don't want that.
Shane
Nobody wants that.
Amanda
I can't believe that. I can't believe that I was like, oh, there's gonna be a protein soda.
Rasha
I just feel like it's gonna smell like meat.
Shane
Oh, probably. Okay.
Amanda
I can't wait for the year of whatever animal we choose.
Shane
Yeah. Oh. So I have a. I'm gonna cook up some more predictions because our fans accomplish too much too fast.
Rasha
Okay.
Shane
But I have one request that I'm putting out there now that I want our fans to accomplish for us. My initial one, I was thinking, I was like, I really want someone to show Smosh Mouth to a monkey. I want a photo of a monkey or ape watching Smoshmouth, but they need to be looking at the screen while Smoshmouth is playing. Okay. I need that photo. And then I also started thinking, you know what? Start sending us photos. Post it on our Reddit or send it to our accounts all over on Smosh of any animals watching Smosh Mouth. Now, dogs and cats, pets. That's great. We'll take it. Yeah, we'll take it. I've definitely seen people. People's dogs watching our shows, but I'm. How wild can the animals get? You know, can an elephant watch Smoshmouth?
Amanda
You're going to get some people jumping in.
Shane
Be safe and be safe about it.
Amanda
Yeah, be safe about it, people.
Shane
I want the animal to genuinely be interested. I don't want them to be scared.
Rasha
Monkeys, your safest bet.
Shane
Then I think monkey. I love someone to get a monkey to watch Smash Mouth. Yeah. If we can get every kind of monkey, I mean, I'll. I'll take these photos. I'll put them up behind me here. If by the end of the year, we can have a bunch of animals.
Amanda
Watching Smash Mouth going, ham to do this, dude.
Shane
Orangutan. I think orangutans would enjoy our show.
Rasha
They'll go to pigs, too.
Shane
Pigs.
Amanda
Pigs.
Shane
I'll take a pig house.
Amanda
Yeah. Because we made a prediction of, you know, how, like, Mu Dang was and Pesto the penguin. Mu Dang was the hippo. You know how they were like, oh, yeah, yeah. Animals of the year. So we were making predictions for, like, the animals of this year.
Shane
You said elephant.
Amanda
I said elephant. And giraffe. No, I said sloth and giraffe.
Rasha
Oh. People been loving slots, though. That's like. That was like, the core.
Amanda
Once again, I didn't know this for criticism, you know.
Shane
Hey, back to competition real quick, because I want to talk about competition here.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
What have you guys ever competed in?
Rasha
You know, I actually. I actually was in the NFL.
Shane
Amanda.
Rasha
No, it's true.
Shane
Yet go on.
Rasha
The National Forensics League.
Shane
What?
Rasha
Wow.
Shane
Hold on.
Amanda
Are you making this up?
Rasha
I'm being complete. We need a Safe word, you guys, because I feel like every time I come on here, you guys ask me if I'm going to get up.
Shane
This is. This. I just trust everything fully here. That's how. Podcast.
Amanda
Safe word. Protein soda.
Rasha
Deal.
Shane
National Forensic League.
Rasha
National Forensics League. Protein soda.
Shane
Okay. What's the National Forensics League?
Rasha
Okay, so now, I think while I was in it in high school, the name changed to the nsda, which is now the National Speech and Debate Association.
Shane
For a second there, I really thought that this competition league you were in was like, guys, we found a dead body. Whoever can figure out who murdered him first wins.
Rasha
Yeah, that's not the right. And you're not alone in that.
Shane
You know, I really was like, forensics.
Amanda
Fingerprints, you know, carpet fibers. Come on.
Shane
Yeah, okay, so it switched to. So it was always speech and debate.
Rasha
It was always speech and debate. I don't know if that is the main reason that they switched it. I mean, obviously with. Yeah, the NFL overall is a very confusing name, but when I entered the activity, that's what it was. That was where we were, like, recording our stats and everything, and it was the NFL.
Shane
Okay, so Speech and debate. How good were you at speech and debate?
Rasha
I mean, I don't want to toot my own horn, but I had. I had a pretty successful, like, senior year, I would say, leading to it. Thank you. Well, again, like, the very confusing part of it that I always have to clarify is that it's not debate and it's. It's honestly, like, really not even, like, speech much. It's like we're just kind of hanging.
Shane
Out, you know, we're just kind of talking.
Rasha
It's more of, like, the dead bodies. It's more of. It's competitive acting. So it's. It's another name for it is oral interpretation. It's such a niche activity, right? It's like if you were involved in it, you're like, oh, I know it. Patrick was in it. So he and I talked about it in college. It's. In high school. There is a college league I didn't participate in, but high school is, like.
Shane
Where it's just acting. So one side is like. And that's why I think government should be smaller. And then it cuts over to you, and you just go.
Amanda
You just yell and scream. And they're like, mother. Right?
Rasha
It's.
Amanda
So.
Rasha
It's basically like a completely different category altogether. There's. There's different events that you, I guess, enroll in. So there's dramatic interpretation, humorous interpretation. There's duo what the hell? So basically what you do to get involved with it is you take a play or a movie, a TV show, a book or something and you interpret it into 10 minutes. So you cut out certain things, you make it like a 10 minute performance. And then, you know, you go, you get off book, you have blocking and everything. And it's like your own little like 10 minute solo performance of this story. And then every weekend there are tournaments in which you go to different high schools. You dress up in a full suit and you have multiple rounds, starting from preliminary rounds into the final rounds where you compete against other high schoolers. And judges judge you from one to six based on who was the best and who was the worst in the round. And you advance all the way into the finals.
Amanda
You ever edit your thing as you go on, or is it stay the same?
Rasha
I mean you can, but it's, it's like, it's kind of just like if you've rehearsed something, like you should continue to do that. You could certainly make adjustments. If you're like, oh, that like line that I had. They didn't laugh in the last room that I performed it. I'm going to do it this way. Like that's totally fine. You can make your little in the moment adjustments, but it's like a live performance in front of the judge, in front of everybody else in the round.
Shane
By yourself.
Rasha
By yourself. And then when you advance, obviously other people have been eliminated from the tournament. So the rooms increase in, you know, size like more people are watching you. So then it's local tournaments, but then there's also state and then nationals. And so those are like thousands of people watching.
Shane
I'm the national movie interpretation. Yeah, yeah, that is. So did your high school also have like regular debate?
Rasha
Yeah, so. Well, so.
Shane
And those people had to have been like, God damn it. Like.
Rasha
So the thing. So that's where it is even more complicated is debate is also a part of it there going on. There is another set of events, but it's for specifically the debate side where you can do like Lincoln Douglas and extemporaneous speaking and like different debate events. But usually you're on one side or the other. You, you're either doing interp or you're doing debate.
Amanda
Where does forensics come into play?
Rasha
Forensics is the name of speech and debate. Like it's a. It's another name for it.
Amanda
It's commonly do with true crime.
Rasha
No, but it's just commonly associated with autopsies. So people make the joke of forensics.
Shane
Whoa.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
This is wild.
Shane
I'm back to thinking you're lying about all this.
Rasha
I have photos. I have videos of my performance.
Amanda
It's. I can tell. I can tell. It's too.
Shane
Oh, my God.
Rasha
It's very specific. I feel like we've talked about this before, too. Again, Patrick and I have had lengthy conversations because when you're involved in it, you're like, very heavily in it.
Shane
Wow.
Amanda
Okay.
Shane
Well, Amanda, what. What did you do?
Amanda
I. As you were talking, a memory popped in about a competition that I did that I think I blacked out forever. Well, I did. Growling Sunday Company, which I feel like was like off. 8. Eight year competition, but not in the.
Shane
Long term of things.
Amanda
But really I did this competition and I completely forgot about it until you were just talking about it. So. In my town, there's a. There's a. There's a place close to me. Rhode Island. Do you guys know Rhode Island?
Rasha
I love Rhode Island.
Shane
Family Guy.
Amanda
Okay. Yeah, they're. They. When I was kind of working in the news, but not yet. And I just got out of college and I was like, oh, I'll be a reporter. They had a very small channel. Like, I. I want to say it was Channel five, but that's too big. Like, they had like. Because news reporting channels are on a number scale, right? So Channel five, Channel four, Those are top. But you can have like channel like 28 or whatever. And it is like, we're channel 60 and you're like in the middle of nowhere by yourself. So there was like a good local channel in Rhode Island. It wasn't Providence. It was like Cranston maybe. And it was a local radio station, and they had a competition for the newest news reporter. A competition? Yep.
Rasha
You have to be the most new.
Shane
Like, who is the newest?
Amanda
Who is the. Like, they were going to hire a brand new news reporter based on. And I'm talking like, you know how like American Idol when people line up outside and they're all waiting in the cold? I did that for hours.
Rasha
Whoa.
Amanda
And I remember I got like my suit ready and I didn't really want to do it, but I was like, I have to.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
You know when you're like out of college and you're like. My mom was like, there's an open call. You must go. And it's like, I have to do this.
Rasha
I should.
Amanda
Because you're good in your brain.
Shane
Were you the newest?
Amanda
No. No.
Shane
You've been doing it too long.
Amanda
No. So I waited. I mean, it was all day, hours.
Shane
And by that time, news reporter for a day, 24 hours, someone else just showed up all freaking day.
Amanda
I don't even know who they were looking for. Cause it was all ages. And then we had to go through these judges and, like, present really cool facts about us. Really cool stories. Like, almost like when we almost died stories or stories. Yeah, sob stories. And I remember being so mad at myself because my story was about scuba diving. And they were like, oh, nice.
Rasha
And I remember being like.
Amanda
No, people were. And I was like, I'm not interesting enough. Like, what? And I had this whole. It actually, like, hurt me more than it helped me. And I definitely didn't win at all. Like, I was just too nervous. I was too. In my head. I wasn't, like, playful at all. And then. So I didn't win. But there was a girl who was, like, a little bit younger than me, and I remember seeing her on the news, and I was like, God damn her.
Shane
And that girl, Katie Couric.
Amanda
No, it's not. I don't know where she is now.
Rasha
That's crazy. So, I mean, that's what competition does, right?
Amanda
That woman. Diane Sawyer.
Shane
Diane Sawyer.
Rasha
I feel like enrolling in these kinds of competitions, these contests, oftentimes when it is just showing up as yourself, and if you don't win or advance in any way, it can kind of make you internally reflect and be like, am I enough?
Shane
I'm awful.
Rasha
I suck. I'm not talented enough.
Amanda
I don't think it genuinely. I think there are some people who are built for it, and it actually helps them and makes them stronger. But for me, competitive things like that was just not helpful.
Shane
Did you not play sports at all?
Amanda
I did. I did. I was a pitcher in softball.
Shane
Whoa.
Amanda
Oh, yeah. I was hardcore played softball.
Shane
You turned into Sarah Christ out there.
Amanda
Well, they had a nickname for me. They used to call me Hollywood. Because I would be. If I was ever put in the outfield. And I was like, oh, this is a bummer. I would sing. I would just sing out there.
Rasha
No, you wouldn't.
Amanda
And I was just like.
Rasha
No, no, not your singing.
Amanda
I was like, I hated the outfield. So anytime you put me on there, I sing.
Rasha
I hate the outfield. I'm just gonna sing.
Amanda
And they're like, all right, Hollywood, get in here.
Shane
That's so funny.
Amanda
So pitcher. I was pitcher. I didn't do swim team, but I, like, did a. I was put in a lot of overnight camps. So I was, like, hardcore doing swim in the overnight camps and was terrible at basketball. Not good at soccer? Yeah.
Shane
Wow.
Rasha
You got to be easier on yourself, girl.
Shane
Piano is not a competition.
Amanda
Yes, it is. Trust me. Piano's art to get in the right church. It's a competition.
Rasha
In addition to that, too, it's also subjectivity. Right. With all of these contests, like, some. Sometimes it's like an objective win. Especially with sports. It can be like, okay, that's what's.
Shane
Fun about sports, is, like, that team won.
Amanda
Right.
Rasha
Or like, into the hoop.
Shane
Like, the Oscar nominations came out today, and you just look at it and you're like, no, sure.
Amanda
No, I didn't see them.
Shane
They're bad. Some of them are really cool.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
Amelia Prez got 13 nominations.
Amanda
What did the Brutalist get?
Rasha
Oh, my God.
Shane
A lot, dude. Challengers got nominated for nothing. See, you can make the most incredible film.
Amanda
What did Gladiator 2 get nominated for?
Shane
It probably got more nominations than challengers, I bet you.
Rasha
Well, more than zero.
Amanda
No way.
Shane
More than zero.
Amanda
No way.
Shane
The substance got nominated for best picture, though, which is crazy. Crazy.
Amanda
That's awesome. I never saw it because Body horror.
Shane
Yeah, it's.
Rasha
I thought it was cool.
Shane
Anyways.
Amanda
Anyways. What about you?
Shane
I was. I swim team, ironically.
Amanda
Oh, yeah.
Shane
And then played a lot of soccer.
Rasha
Why is that ironic?
Shane
I drowned.
Rasha
Oh, yeah. I forgot.
Shane
Then I. I conquered the water.
Rasha
Oh.
Amanda
And that is such a good story.
Shane
It was kind of like one of those enemies to lovers thing where I was like, okay, you tried to kill me, but now we need to work together.
Rasha
That's awesome.
Amanda
A pool.
Rasha
Hey, good for you, buddy.
Shane
Yeah, dude, if you think about it, swimming is the water butterfly, depending on the stroke. Yeah.
Amanda
The breast stroke.
Rasha
You're so right. And the breaststroke is the. Is the. I don't want to say it, but, you know, Protein soda.
Shane
I wanted it. The main thing I actually wanted to do in this podcast today is I wanted us to talk about our cast here.
Amanda
Yes.
Shane
Our current cast. And I want to talk. We compete every week. Right. We're playing games nonstop.
Rasha
Oh, right.
Shane
And they can get intense. And I wanted us to talk about who we think are the most competitive people here at Smosh Now. And I don't say competitive as a bad thing. No, I think it's a good thing. I'm talking about who gets the most. Who gets the most locked in. And I think. I think there's a ranking there. I'm like, definitely. I think there's people who. I'm like, they're not as competitive.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
Like, I have, like, a. Like a group, but yeah, go.
Shane
You have A group of contenders. I'll start off by saying I think I'm in, like, the top three of most competitive.
Rasha
Really?
Shane
I firmly. I feel like I'm one of the only people here at Smosh who's openly admits that I'm competitive.
Amanda
I think I don't.
Shane
I actually think you don't think I'm one of the most.
Amanda
No, I think you're competitive, but I don't think you're one of the most because I think there's specific games that you get, like, pissed, like werewolf. I see you, like, I can see you get, like, a little, like, what the hell? But I. Competitive, to me, is like a full circle thing of, like, all the different attributes. That's what I. I think you're competitive, but I think there are people who have the attribute of competitiveness, which is like. Like, they get, like.
Rasha
They're just angry.
Shane
Yeah, the socks spoke, like, because, like.
Amanda
I see you getting there at some games, but I also see you kind of being like, all right, yeah, I would agree.
Rasha
I feel like you chill out. Like, you. You do want to win.
Amanda
You're still competitive, though. I still think you're competitive. Like, challenge pit.
Shane
Oh, yeah.
Amanda
Like, you are very competitive in the sense of, like, you win a lot.
Shane
I'm going to go all out.
Amanda
Yeah, you're going to go all out.
Rasha
But I feel like you're not really as, like, focused on, like, other people's competition as much. You don't, like, emotionally get as riled up.
Shane
Yes, I think. Yeah, that's fair. I do sometimes get riled up. But as soon as we cut, I'm done.
Amanda
I'm like, yeah, see, I think competitive, real, like, really, like, that kind of. Mmm. Are still kind of taking.
Rasha
You take it home with you.
Amanda
And I'm not saying that that's a bad thing, but I think they. They are, like, they're still in it. It takes them a second.
Shane
Yeah, okay.
Amanda
It's not a bad thing.
Shane
What do you think you guys rank on the scale?
Amanda
I think I definitely hear. I chill out a lot more because there are people.
Shane
I wouldn't put you in the top.
Amanda
There are people more competitive than me, I think. First challenge, but I'm like, oh, fuck this. Like, I'm not going to win any of this. But I would say, like, me growing up, like, games, like charades and stuff, I'm pretty competitive.
Shane
Are you more competitive in games? Like, off camera? Like, outside of smash 100? I think I'm way more chill outside of Smosh. No, I think here I'M like, I'm going to amp it up.
Amanda
I think outside of Smosh, I am way more competitive. I get involved with, like. No, that's not the rule. No.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
Whereas here, there's already enough of that, so I just have fun.
Shane
Yeah.
Amanda
Way more.
Shane
Yeah.
Amanda
What about you, Ross?
Rasha
Yeah, I mean, I. I feel like.
Amanda
What are you, Raja?
Rasha
I definitely feel like I'm pretty competitive, but I feel like I gave a little bit of my history here. Like, I was almost bred to be very cutthroat, especially in the NFL. Like, yeah, that.
Shane
Forensics, it was.
Rasha
It was pretty intense. I mean, again, like, everything that you were saying was just like. I think I went to a total of like, a hundred tournaments, you know, and. And starting from 9th grade to 12th grade. And. And like I said, I had a really strong trajectory, which was awesome. But then it just became like this. This, like, starving for success. I. Yeah, and. And, like, the more that you would. You would win, the more that it was like, oh, this is like. Like, this is power. This is great. This is validation. You know, I should be performing or I should be competing, and I'm winning over these judges, so, you know, I have to continue to compete. And so it definitely. It definitely drove into a lot of.
Amanda
This is a combat. This, to me, this is a competitor. This is a win. Because I've seen a Russian be like.
Shane
You get locked in. I think.
Amanda
Wait a second.
Shane
Locked in.
Amanda
What is this rule? Like, she. She cannot move on.
Shane
Alex, what is this?
Amanda
She cannot move on if the rule is not stated and everyone's not following it. And that. That, to me. And that's the thing. You need those people in games because. Because I can't stand when rules are just like, ah, whatever, whatever. But when I'm here, I'm like, oh, whatever, whatever, whatever. But when I'm outside, I'm like, no, no.
Rasha
Yeah, no, I concur. I think the. I think that the rules definitely is important. I think what I would like to unlearn a little bit is the emotional investment.
Shane
It's tough.
Amanda
It is hard.
Shane
It's very tough. It's so funny because, yeah, we are here knowing, like, we're just playing a board game. That's our job.
Rasha
Okay? But sometimes Alex is like, guys, 20 bucks to whoever wins.
Shane
Okay? I think he's only doing that to you. He's doing that to you.
Amanda
This is why. That's why you are a competitor.
Shane
You're having troubles because Alex is freaking, like, feeding your mind.
Amanda
Because Araja gets. Because Alex goes, oh, yeah, this Is good. And then you get fed a possible thing that you can win, and I think is Alex. That's what makes you hook. That's what makes you latch on where I go. I don't want your 20 bucks because you're never gonna give it to me. And I don't want a hot dog, bitch. Like, that's where I. I want a hot dog unattached. You get so attached to it.
Rasha
I'm, like, twitching.
Amanda
But here's the thing. I also think that there are people who are. Are right there with you, definitely surpassing you.
Rasha
Right.
Amanda
And I think Angela is one of them. Yeah, in a way. In a way. Here's the thing.
Rasha
Oh, no.
Amanda
She's a different competitor because she cheats. She cheats. This is so good.
Rasha
She cheats. She plays Lay back. What's the video? Tilt and shout. Everybody go freaking watch that video. Because it did not get enough. It did not get enough. And Olivia and Angela are cheating the entire time. And I get very competitive and angry in the video.
Amanda
That actually would make me upset.
Rasha
And I stand by.
Amanda
That would make me upset. And the game's called Tilt and shout.
Rasha
They moo twice, and it'll make sense to you when you watch it. They move twice.
Shane
I guess we need to do that trend, that TikTok trend, where it's like, this is. We. We listen and we don't judge, and we all admit all the times we've cheated in games, because we've all done that.
Amanda
I don't cheat in game. Yeah, no, I actually.
Shane
I actually believe you're the one who does it literally. I think you might be the one.
Amanda
Don't cheat. No, no.
Shane
Yeah, you cheat.
Amanda
No, I don't cheat. I lie through my teeth, but I do not cheat. Okay, no.
Rasha
Yeah, I don't cheat.
Amanda
Yes, you do.
Rasha
I cheat when we. When we're supposed to cheat with Monopoly, But I don't cheat other than that. Okay, Find me cheating.
Shane
I don't. There's cheating. I think there's times where the rules get bent. Like, what's that. What's that game where it was like, okay, things you. Things you're scared of.
Rasha
Sure.
Shane
And you said goo.
Rasha
Goo is frightening.
Amanda
I. I will say I did a whole play based on goo and how. Okay, we're afraid of goo.
Shane
Fine.
Rasha
Shane's cheating right now.
Amanda
Okay.
Shane
All right. So Angela.
Amanda
I think Angela's a different type of competitor where. Where she'll be like.
Shane
She'll be like, this is peak emotions. That's peak emotions.
Amanda
Peak emotions. Where it's her is about hers is about fairness, where she's. When she's not winning, she's like, this is unfair. And then she cheats, but you're not winning.
Shane
I think Angela. I think. Yeah. I mean, Angela's kind of in a category of her own of, like, the emotions get there. Right. I think that's kind of where I tend to go to, like, I get, like.
Amanda
I see you get like that, but.
Shane
It'S Angela still Angela just off the chain.
Rasha
But I like.
Amanda
I like when you kind of lose it and get competitive fun.
Shane
And I think it makes for good content.
Amanda
Maybe I'll just.
Shane
Angela goes viral all the time from board game content because she's losing her mind, and it's entertaining.
Amanda
I feel.
Rasha
I feel like Chance is similar to that, too.
Amanda
Chance.
Rasha
His is like an internal.
Shane
Like, Chance. Chance. I would put Chance and Damian in a similar category where they. They are. They're gamers. Yeah, they're gamers, and they are. They're figuring out the system.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
And they're learning system, and they're really.
Rasha
They're quiet.
Amanda
They're really good at it. And I will say, when I played with Chance on the sound game, when we had to, like, make sounds.
Rasha
Oh, he gets really.
Amanda
He's like, I. I didn't. We. I didn't do it. I. I couldn't do it. It's. It's very deep. It's very internal, which makes him such a good gamer and such a good player.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
And it's really fun to have him on a team because when you are doing well, he's like, right.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
Right.
Rasha
No, exactly. That's why I think Chance and I work really well together when we're on a team, because I am like, we have got this. I'm giving you the gusto, and he's like, we're gonna win.
Amanda
You're internal, too. You and him. Like, you guys are here, whereas Angela's out here. Shane can be a little bit out here, and I'm like. I'm also Hollywood, like, on the softball field, where I'm like, you know what if there's two. If I see too many people getting competitive. Yeah, I know. I'll get worked up and try to, like, defend and find justice.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
So I start to kind of.
Shane
You and Courtney are in the same realm of like, we're here to have a good time. We're here to have fun.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
Silly.
Rasha
I think Courtney's definitely with.
Shane
Courtney can get competitive too.
Amanda
Yeah, she can definitely. I think. I think Courtney can definitely get competitive, and I can get competitive with. With certain people.
Shane
Like, right.
Amanda
I feel like I sometimes all, like, get competitive with, like, Courtney or, like, Chance or Angela.
Rasha
I think it's the lineup. You're right. It's like, if there are enough people that are in it, like, we as. As performers and professionals are enough to be like, I'm going to back off for a second. Like, I don't. The content doesn't need to be all five of us screaming at each other.
Shane
Correct. It's true. It depends on the. On the setup. Because, yeah. If Angela's on an opposing team, I think I know. The problem for me is I know that Angela will trash talk, and I'm like, we're down to trash talking, and we just let it rip.
Amanda
The trash talk can feel like they're, like, calling out your family in such a negative way.
Shane
It gets to that point.
Rasha
No.
Shane
Well, unless my insult made her.
Amanda
Now I. Maybe because I have sisters. You play a game of Uno and yeah, the. The, like, threats are nothing.
Shane
Nothing messes us up here at smosh more than Uno. It's werewolf and Uno that are going to like werewolf.
Rasha
Werewolves.
Amanda
Crazy.
Shane
I get.
Amanda
I get a little heated during werewolf because I'm like, oh, yeah.
Rasha
When you're getting. And I love used the thing.
Shane
This is the thing, man. You'll see me playing werewolf, and I'm heated. I look like I'm having a horrible time. I'm loving it.
Amanda
Yeah, I know.
Shane
I'm in.
Rasha
I know. I love it.
Shane
It's the Crucible.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
No, but people get.
Rasha
But then after, like, every time we're done playing, we all walk outside, we're like, hey, I love you guys.
Shane
No, we're having a blast.
Amanda
We're having fun. But it is, like, it's.
Shane
You're gonna call me a liar, theater kids, incompetent.
Amanda
You think I'm aware.
Rasha
Like, you're really gonna believe Shane right now? You're actually. You're going to.
Shane
No. No. You know what? The shitty thing I do in werewolf. This is the most sore loser thing I do where in werewolf. Like, when I get accused of. Of being the werewolf and I'm not. And then at the end, like, it revealed that, like, Angela was the. The Tanner, and it was like, oh. And everyone freaks out. And I'm still taking that moment to be like, that means you lost to. That means that actually means that you.
Rasha
Lost finding the other law.
Amanda
I need to be like, I need.
Shane
To make sure other people know they lost.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
It's so funny.
Rasha
It's hard.
Shane
I love it.
Amanda
I Love it. I also think. I think Tommy is similar to me in a sense.
Shane
Yeah.
Amanda
Tommy, where he's like. When it's getting a little too, like. Okay. He's like, yeah, yeah.
Rasha
But he can get into it.
Amanda
He can. That's what I think. We all can kind of tap in.
Rasha
I think we all sing.
Amanda
But I. I do think we're such a great ebb and flow. We ebb and flow. Like, if Tommy is. Tommy wants to get in, he'll get in.
Rasha
Oh, yeah.
Amanda
If he feels like it's getting too much like the graph video, which we don't need to discuss, we'll kind of chart charity party. We'll kind of take ourselves out where me and Tommy looked at each other and we went. Time to step out.
Rasha
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which. That reminds me, too, of another strong competitor is Noah.
Shane
Yeah. No.
Amanda
Is a very strong and very involved with the rules.
Rasha
Oh, very much.
Amanda
He will not continue playing a game unless the rules are. And I kind of love that about.
Rasha
Oh, yeah.
Amanda
Because he gets. But what I love is he does it differently. Whereas, like, Angelo's like. He's like. His is like a laugh.
Shane
It's.
Amanda
It's.
Rasha
It's lighthearted. Yeah. It's like. Especially when we're, like, on. When we're on, like, opposite teams, and it's like, about, like, categories and stuff. Like, he's able to be like, I'll give them that to you. Yeah, yeah. No, I'm. I'm open to that for sure. I'll. I'll do that. And then on the same time, with his end, he's like, you're not going to accept this. I. I gave you that. You're not going to accept this.
Amanda
Remember charity party when I was like, you have to let this go. And he said, amanda, I can't. And he said it in a smile and a sweet, sweet little smile, and I said, okay.
Shane
I can't.
Amanda
He's like, I can't. I can't.
Rasha
The four of us were just playing. What was that video that just came out? It was you, me, Chance, and Noah, actually.
Shane
Don't say no.
Rasha
No. What was that?
Shane
Did you play Blockbuster? No.
Amanda
No.
Rasha
Oh, it was. It was the one where we had to, like, turn over the. The, Like. Yeah, that one got. That one got intense.
Amanda
That one got intense.
Shane
So fun. I think people should know, listening. Like, when we say intense, it. We're still having a blast.
Amanda
It's never. It's never bad enough where we're like, hey, I got to talk to you. But it is like, we'll get heated, and then we'll look at each other and we'll be like, sometimes that's why I will. I will pull back my fire to be like, where are we?
Rasha
Yeah. I feel like I'll. I pick and choose. I'll pick and choose which games I really want to, like, invest in. But in games like that, sometimes it's like, if the vibe is, like, intense, and I'm like, okay, I'll just be the light, and I don't want to practice. I felt that, you know?
Shane
Yeah, we're all good at, like, kind of balancing it all.
Amanda
But Damien. Damien also is. Is, like, such a good gamer, and he gets really involved, and I love it because he'll call people out left and right. He's like, oh, that's so interesting that you would do it like that, because that's not how the rules are. Okay, but we'll keep going.
Rasha
Yeah, yeah.
Amanda
Like, can't say. Can't say I'm. Is about to come out. And he was doing that. He's like, no, no, no, no, no.
Rasha
Oh, my God.
Amanda
And I kind of love it because if you are a little bit emotionally, because I think it's good for the other person to get like, okay, okay.
Rasha
Yeah, okay, okay. You said you can't say I'm. And that reminds me of Ian, who.
Shane
I feel like it's an interesting one.
Rasha
Ian was kind of getting a little emotionally in there, too.
Amanda
Yes.
Rasha
Because, like, we would, like, call him out, and he'd be like.
Amanda
He'd be like, why are you calling me out? That's not what I did. I didn't say.
Rasha
I did.
Amanda
I didn't say.
Rasha
And he's sitting there going like, yeah.
Amanda
He'S like, the meanest.
Shane
The meanest prank we could ever do is if we're filming a board game video on April 1st. If we just gaslight the shit out of someone in a game like that.
Amanda
Whoa.
Shane
And we're just like, oh, we're just going to say that. They said. And you just all do it. I'm not saying we should do this. I'm saying it would be diabolical.
Amanda
Cringed right now.
Rasha
I would stand up and I would literally, like, hit playback on the camera.
Amanda
I, I. But I think. I think that Ian can. I think Ian can go either way. I think.
Shane
Yeah.
Amanda
Get there. Or he can be like, you guys are idiots.
Rasha
I think he can elevate other people's competition really well, though. Like, like, definitely. I feel like the angriest that I got was in the werewolf that we were all in when we were on the couch. And I remember Ian, like, sided with Chance and I was innocent, and I was like. I was pissed at Ian for, like an hour. I was like, I can't believe he did that. And then I was like, wait, I have to let this go.
Shane
Wait. I'm an adult.
Rasha
Hold on. I have to move on. I have to move on.
Shane
So funny.
Amanda
I don't think. I don't think. I think Olivia doesn't get too competitive.
Shane
Olivia is kind of in the same category as you. She's having a good time.
Amanda
She's having a really good time.
Shane
Keith is in a similar category as me and Angela. We are just. We're the ones who, like, are. We're not putting too much thought into the game. Right. We're just. We know that if we just go 100%.
Amanda
Yeah.
Shane
And we just believe and it's all emotion, it'll be a blast.
Rasha
Yeah. How about Trevor?
Shane
Trevor's chill, I think.
Amanda
I think Trevor. I think Trevor's having fun. But I do think that Trevor is like, what are the rules?
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
Yeah. He's kind of in. In the middle, kind of. Kind of gamer, I think.
Amanda
I think if cameras went away, I think everything would change.
Shane
Off camera, I think Trevor would be the most.
Rasha
I think, okay.
Amanda
Everything would change.
Rasha
So let's like, okay, here's the prank. We set up a camera and we're like, guys, like, we should just bond and, like, play a game, like, off camera.
Amanda
Oh, I don't know.
Rasha
This isn't going anywhere.
Shane
But with all the cameras here.
Rasha
But with all the cameras here. But like, they're all, like, just like, we didn't.
Amanda
They're all.
Shane
They're not actually for real, but only.
Rasha
We are in on it. So then we see how. Okay, people are.
Shane
That's. That's also really mean.
Rasha
It's not me. Well, we'll bleep. We'll bleep out anything. Like, anybody says that. They're like, I didn't want to share that.
Amanda
Gaslighting or doing that. It's vulgar, essentially. Gaslighting.
Shane
Pretty cool.
Rasha
Well, we'll gaslight later with mine, so.
Shane
Okay, we're running out of time, but there was one other question that I wanted to pose to us, and that is say on the next season of Survivor, Smosh gets to send one person to go, and we're like, this person has to go and win Survivor.
Amanda
You know, I love Survivor.
Shane
Who do we think out of Smash has the best odds of winning Survivor?
Rasha
Okay, what do you have to do.
Shane
And this has already happened.
Amanda
There are so many things.
Shane
Years ago, Mari Takahashi went and lost. She's too much of a threat.
Amanda
Here's the deal. She was too good as a Survivor fan. Big time. Jeff probes. Hi. Here's the deal. If you are a strong male who like does really well in challenges, you will never win, but you will make it far because you will end up being a threat and they will vote you out. So I definitely don't think. Shane, you will last a while. People will love you. They'll be like, oh, I don't want to vote them out, but we got to get rid of them.
Shane
Okay.
Amanda
They just don't let. Because at the end, you have to win all these immunity challenges for your life.
Shane
Got it?
Amanda
Like sometimes it's like that's how you get to the end.
Shane
Okay.
Amanda
I think it is a smart. But you also have to have a social game. But it can't be too good.
Shane
Okay.
Amanda
And. And you have to be a little bit under the radar. You can't be too boastful and ego intense. You can't be telling people what to do. You can't be too much of a leader. Like, you have to basically be a chameleon the entire time. But you. If you make too big of a stink of like I did that move.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
Like I voted that person out. You're.
Rasha
And what. So what. What's the challenge like? Are we. Are we? And also doing girls.
Amanda
It's still a thing. Girls like, will like lump together, but then at the end they'll usually always turn on each other.
Shane
That's kind of how let's survive.
Amanda
You do.
Rasha
It's America.
Amanda
You do intense, intense physical challenges.
Shane
Yeah, intense. I think most of the cast. Swimming. Cast could do like swimming.
Amanda
Lots of swimming. And. And puzzles. Constant, constant puzzles.
Rasha
Okay.
Shane
Okay. So who do we think? So not me.
Amanda
I.
Shane
Easy.
Amanda
You will definitely not win. I love you, but you will not win.
Rasha
I feel like I survived.
Amanda
I think that you could do a really good job. But if you show any, like, you have to be villainous. But it has to be under the ring.
Shane
You have to play your cards right. You'd have to show up and appear like, I don't know, like very non threatening.
Amanda
Yes.
Shane
People can't know that you were in forensic.
Amanda
Here's the thing.
Rasha
Not the NFL back.
Amanda
I feel like you. I don't know.
Shane
I think.
Rasha
Do I get right away.
Shane
I think you'd be too smart about it and it would show your cards. Like people wouldn't.
Amanda
I think so too.
Shane
Playing the game too.
Amanda
And also I think that people would kind of like, this sounds crazy, but I think that people would kind of flirt with you. And that's also a red flag because people go, oh, look, they're teaming up. That's the other thing is if you have like a. An ally, you have to keep that shit secret. Because if people are kind of flirty, they're like, look at Irasha and blah, blah, blah, they're. They're flirting. They're probably an ally. We got to break them up.
Rasha
Well, what if I just don't flirt back? You know? What if I'm just like, hey, you're.
Shane
Just saying by the sheer nature of people going and talking to you.
Amanda
I mean, that's supposed to happen. It's the most chaotic. I love this show.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
So I know we're running out of time. I personally think this sounds weird, but I think Spencer would do a really good job because he's under the radar, he's super social without being boastful.
Shane
You know who I actually would. I think Ian would do really well because Ian's very social, but in a way that you kind of don't realize it at first. You're like, oh, wait, he's just chill talking to anyone. He's also, like, got a lot of endurance that people don't realize. Like, he's a runner. And I think endurance challenges.
Amanda
I think Ian would do really well. I think that they sh. I think it would be trouble if they found out who he was.
Shane
Okay. Not counting, not counting that.
Amanda
Okay. Because people get weird about that. They're like, oh, you're blah, blah, blah, you have a lot of money.
Shane
Let's discount that.
Amanda
Okay. I think Ian would do really well.
Rasha
I don't know. I have, like, a vision of Ian being voted out.
Amanda
Here's. I think. I also think Chance could go very far. Yeah, I think he could go very far, but he would really have to play his heart.
Shane
He wears his heart on his sleeve too much.
Amanda
I think so too. I think the people who roll their eyes during tribal. Yeah, Tribals, like the vote out thing.
Shane
I think he'd be too Opal.
Rasha
That sounds.
Amanda
If you, if you roll your eyes, people go, oh. If they think that you're a little bit, like, could flip or, like, have a too big of an out facing opinion.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
Chance would call people out and that would get him in trouble.
Rasha
What about Courtney?
Shane
I think. I think, I think Courtney could do.
Amanda
Here's the thing. Courtney would last a really long time because she's social. She's really good at the challenges. She's very physically active. She could also. Courtney is also could, like, kind of seek out people. She's really good at reading people and, like, a way of, like. I don't know. She gets a vibe, but I don't. I.
Shane
It's hard for me because I just know Courtney would never want to go on Survivor because that type of show would make her so uncomfortable.
Rasha
Sure.
Amanda
Right.
Shane
But.
Rasha
Right.
Amanda
There's also, like, I don't think.
Shane
I think Courtney would have such a hard time in that level of something. Of having to be cutthroat. I also think that'd be so.
Amanda
I also think sleeping on literal bamboo in the night with no phone. I think people just in general break.
Shane
Yeah.
Rasha
They.
Amanda
They get like. And there's no fucking food. You have to fight for your food.
Rasha
Okay.
Shane
I think you can handle a lot.
Rasha
I'm double down on me.
Amanda
I think Cory could go really, really far. I think that you could go really far. I think it has to be even more incognito, like, physical vibe also.
Rasha
I feel like I could do it.
Shane
Okay.
Rasha
I'm gonna go to Survivor.
Shane
I.
Amanda
You can apply.
Rasha
This is my application.
Amanda
No, no, no, no, no.
Shane
Jeff.
Amanda
No.
Shane
You watched video one of the fan requests show Jeff Probst this episode of Smoshmouth.
Rasha
I'll do it.
Shane
Okay.
Rasha
I feel like I'd have fun.
Amanda
I think so far back, I feel like.
Rasha
I also. I feel like the only argument against it, too, was that people would flirt with me, but I would. I would.
Amanda
There's a lot of other things. You'd have to really keep your, like, stealth and, like, I know what I'm doing. Because once you say, like, I know what I'm doing, if you start to kind of, like, tell the group what to do, you're even out.
Shane
Play dumb a little bit.
Amanda
You have to play, like, if you're. If you're not on the vote every single time, I could have a whole podcast about this. But if you're not on the vote every single time, then people are like. They might take you to the end just because they're like, oh, well, okay. We could hide behind this person.
Shane
Okay.
Amanda
So you don't want to be too dumb, but you don't want to be too much, and you only make big moves towards the end.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
Okay.
Rasha
Yeah.
Shane
All right.
Amanda
I am such a Survivor fan, but, like, Arasha, you could do really well.
Rasha
I think so.
Amanda
I feel like I could do. I. I could get. I don't think I could win, though.
Rasha
Yeah. I. Again, I want to know more about the challenges themselves, because if it's, like, eating, like, gross shit.
Amanda
No, it used to be they kind of. The challenges are fudgeing. Insane.
Rasha
Yeah.
Amanda
You're, like, pummeling your body through mud. It's like marine shit.
Rasha
Okay.
Amanda
And it's a lot of swimming, and it's a lot of diving down and, like, doing knots and puzzles.
Rasha
Hot.
Shane
All right, well, who do you guys think would.
Amanda
Would. Would win? Here's the thing. It's very hard to look at someone go, I think that you would win because the game fricking changes so much. Like, the ocean, man. It comes in, it comes out.
Shane
Yeah. Let us know down below who you think our top competitor is and who would win on Survivor.
Amanda
If you're watching Traders right now, Boston Rob is an incredible Survivor winner.
Shane
Okay.
Amanda
Incredible.
Shane
I think I watched that season because that's old school.
Amanda
Yeah, that's where he met his wife.
Shane
Yeah, I remember that season. Yeah, yeah. That's forever ago.
Amanda
But he went on.
Shane
But I was, like, a little. When I was a kid when I.
Amanda
Watched it, he went back on.
