Michelle Thames (1:08)
Hey, it's Michelle Thames. Your marketing strategist, visibility coach and host of Social Media decoded the show that helps you get visible, get paid, and grow with purpose. Today we're going to talk about the real reason why you might still be invisible online, even if you're posting consistently, showing up and doing all the things. Because the truth is, visibility isn't just about being seen, it's about being remembered. And there's a big difference between being active online and being visible with authority. So if you're feeling like your efforts aren't translating into engagement, opportunity or sales, today's episode is going to be a game changer for you. Go ahead and get those pins and notepads ready because gems are about to be dropped. Now, before I get into the mistakes, I want to set the foundation. Because visibility starts with your mindset. A lot of people think visibility means chasing attention, but real visibility is about building awareness and alignment. It's about positioning yourself as the person people think of when your topic comes up. Let me tell you something. If you've been posting, podcasting, emailing, and you still feel unseen, you might be focusing on visibility from a place of validation and not vision. I say that with love because I've been there. I used to post just to prove I was working hard. I wanted people to notice. But visibility with purpose is different. It's when you say I'm showing up not to impress, but to impact. And that's when the opportunity starts showing up too. Just yesterday, I got invited to be in another online summit. This came directly from me speaking live at the Her AI Era Summit which by the way, was such a full circle moment because that opportunity came from one person seeing me speak somewhere else months ago. That's how visibility actually works. It compounds when you show up intentionally. Your name starts traveling in rooms you haven't even entered yet. So let's break down the three biggest mistakes that keep even smart, talented entrepreneurs invisible online and what you can do differently starting today. The first mistake Posting without positioning. That is a mistake. You're creating content, but it's random. It's reactive. It doesn't build authority or connection. Here's the truth. Content is not strategy. Posting is not positioning. Your audience doesn't just need to know what you do, they need to understand why you're the one that they should listen to. When I post now, I'm not just giving tips, I'm anchoring a message. For example, when I share about the Elevate and Empower collective, it's not just quote unquote join my group. It's this is what it looks like to grow with structure, not stress. So if you want to shift from content to positioning, here's what you do. Pick three core brand pillars and rotate around them. Speak from authority and not anxiety. Don't chase trends. Create transformation. When you do this consistently, people stop scrolling you and start remembering you.
