Hey, it's Michelle Thames. Your marketing strategist, visibility coach and host of Social Media decoded the show that helps you get visible, get paid, and grow with purpose. Today we're going to talk about the real reason why you might still be invisible online, even if you're posting consistently, showing up and doing all the things. Because the truth is, visibility isn't just about being seen, it's about being remembered. And there's a big difference between being active online and being visible with authority. So if you're feeling like your efforts aren't translating into engagement, opportunity or sales, today's episode is going to be a game changer for you. Go ahead and get those pins and notepads ready because gems are about to be dropped. Now, before I get into the mistakes, I want to set the foundation. Because visibility starts with your mindset. A lot of people think visibility means chasing attention, but real visibility is about building awareness and alignment. It's about positioning yourself as the person people think of when your topic comes up. Let me tell you something. If you've been posting, podcasting, emailing, and you still feel unseen, you might be focusing on visibility from a place of validation and not vision. I say that with love because I've been there. I used to post just to prove I was working hard. I wanted people to notice. But visibility with purpose is different. It's when you say I'm showing up not to impress, but to impact. And that's when the opportunity starts showing up too. Just yesterday, I got invited to be in another online summit. This came directly from me speaking live at the Her AI Era Summit which by the way, was such a full circle moment because that opportunity came from one person seeing me speak somewhere else months ago. That's how visibility actually works. It compounds when you show up intentionally. Your name starts traveling in rooms you haven't even entered yet. So let's break down the three biggest mistakes that keep even smart, talented entrepreneurs invisible online and what you can do differently starting today. The first mistake Posting without positioning. That is a mistake. You're creating content, but it's random. It's reactive. It doesn't build authority or connection. Here's the truth. Content is not strategy. Posting is not positioning. Your audience doesn't just need to know what you do, they need to understand why you're the one that they should listen to. When I post now, I'm not just giving tips, I'm anchoring a message. For example, when I share about the Elevate and Empower collective, it's not just quote unquote join my group. It's this is what it looks like to grow with structure, not stress. So if you want to shift from content to positioning, here's what you do. Pick three core brand pillars and rotate around them. Speak from authority and not anxiety. Don't chase trends. Create transformation. When you do this consistently, people stop scrolling you and start remembering you.

Mistake number two visibility. Without depth, you're everywhere but not memorable anywhere. You might be showing up on every platform. Instagram, Threads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook. But if there's no depth behind your content, you're just adding noise. Depth looks like storytelling case studies. Proof depth is when people don't just like your content, they feel it. For example, when I share about my story of being fired and turning that setback into the foundation for my agency and coaching business that's deaf, it's not just about me. It's about what's possible for them. When I posted about the Hurt AI Era summit and the opportunities that came from it, it's not just to brag, it's to show the power of consistency and connection. That's how your visibility starts working for you. So ask yourself, what do I want to be known for? And does my content actually reflect that every week? If not, that's your starting point. Mistake number three Building awareness without nurture. The third mistake, and probably the most common, is building awareness but not nurturing audience that you already have. You're so focused on getting new followers, new leads and new eyeballs that you forgot about the ones who are already here. Visibility is not just about new reach. Let me break it down. If people come to your page to listen to your podcast and they don't know what to do next, that's not visibility. That's confusion. That's why I talk so much about building ecosystems. Because when people come into your world, you want them to stay. When someone follows me on Instagram, I'm not just thinking, cool, another follower. I'm thinking, how can I serve her so well that she never wants to leave? That's why I have free resources. My podcast, my email list, my community, and my VIP days and retreats and events. Everything connects. So instead of only chasing reach, nurture what's already growing. Because engagement turns into trust and trust turns into opportunity. Here's the truth about visibility. It's not just about being seen. It's about being strategically seen. Y' all know I'm such a strategic person. The people who will win online are not the loudest, but they are the most consistent and clear. Visibility is the long game, the keep showing up when nobody's clapping yet game. It's the staying visible when you don't see the immediate results Game and it's believing that your name is being mentioned in rooms that you haven't even entered yet. Game because that just happened to me this week too. So let's recap. Number one Post with positioning, Number two Lead with death and number three nurture your audience like it's your million dollar asset. Because it is. And when you do that, you won't just be visible, you'll be remembered. If today's episode hit home for you, go ahead and share with someone who's been feeling unseen online. And if you're ready to take your visibility to the next level with structure, strategy and community, join me inside the Elevate and Empower collective.
