Hey everyone. Welcome back to the podcast. If you're new here, welcome to Social Media Decoded, where we talk about visibility, personal branding, and how entrepreneurs turn their content into real opportunities and income. I'm your host, Michelle Thames, and today I want to talk about something that a lot of people say they want, but very few people actually understand. Speaking. Because right now everybody wants to be on stage. Everybody wants to be seen as an expert. Everybody wants the microphone. But here's the truth. The stage is not where the money is made. And if you don't understand what happens after the stage, you can speak over and over again and still not get clients. So get your pens and your notepads ready because gems are about to be dropped. Let's get into it. The myth about speaking. Let's break this down. Most people believe if I get on stage, the clients will come. Like speaking is the automatic conversion tool. You show up, you deliver, people clap, and then your inbox is full. But that is not how it works. Because speaking is visibility. And visibility by itself does not convert what actually happens after the stage. So what actually happens? You speak, you give value, you connect, you share your story, and then the event ends. And this is where most people miss the opportunity. They don't capture leads, don't guide people, don't follow up, don't continue the conversation. So everything they just built stops. And that's why nothing comes from it. My strategy behind speaking When I speak, I am not thinking, how do I impress people? I'm thinking, how do I extend this moment? Because I already know the real opportunity is not on the stage. It's after what I focus on. Clear positioning. People need to know exactly what I do. A direct next step. Not vague, not confusing. Clear. Building connection. I want people to feel like they know me. Linking to my ecosystem. Podcasts, events, community calls. Because the goal is not applause. The goal is action. Converting visibility into clients. This is where the shift happens. Here's what actually turns speaking into revenue. Number one Messaging that sticks. If they don't remember what you do, they won't hire you. Number two A pathway. People need to know what to do next. Number three Follow up. The conversations after the stage are everything. Number four System. One touch point is not enough. People need multiple interactions. This is where most people fall off. They rely on one moment instead of building momentum. Now let's get into some real talk because I have to be honest. You don't need more speaking opportunities. You need a better system behind your visibility. Because I've seen people speak on big stages and get nothing and people speak in small rooms and walk away with clients. The difference what happens after the stage gets you seen. The system gets you paid. If you're ready to actually turn your visibility into clients and stop just being seen, DM me clients and I'll send you how I help people build systems that actually convert. Thank you so much for tuning into today's episode and I can't wait to talk to you in the next one. Peace.
