What's up y'? All? Welcome back to Social Media Decoded. Today I'm doing a quick mini episode because so many of you have been dming me saying Michelle, how do I know when I'm ready to host my first event? And listen, hosting my first event changed everything for me. But I didn't feel ready. I didn't feel qualified. I didn't have every detail figured out. So today I'm giving you three simple things to look for when you know you're ready. So my first event. I'll never forget the first event I ever hosted. I did not have a big budget. I didn't have a fancy venue. In fact, it was about 15 or 13 years ago at one of my really good friend's house. Yep, natural hair event. Okay. But what I did have was purpose and a desire to bring people together. And that one event led to more visibility, more relationships, more opportunities and more clarity. And that is why I'm obsessed with events. They change the trajectory of brand. So here is the three step checklist and here's how you know when you are ready to host your first event. Number one Purpose. You know why you're gathering people. Not because everyone else is doing events, but because you have a mission, a message, or a movement that needs a room. If you can answer, what do I want people to walk away with? You're ready. Number two A plan. You have a simple, clear experience in mind. This does not mean perfect. This means what will they learn? How will they interact? What transformation you're guiding, how the session flows. Simple, clear, emotional. Number three Promotion. You're willing to talk about it if you're willing to post consistently. DM your warm audience. Share behind the scenes, ask people to attend and treat it like a real activation. Then you're ready. And listen if you want to see an event in action. My open house for the Elevate and Empower Collective is this week on December 4th. DM me the word open and I'll send you the link directly. If you're ready for your first event, it's time to stop waiting for the perfect moment and just go for it. I hope that you enjoyed this quick episode today. Make sure you leave a rating and review on Apple and Spotify. Every rating and review helps this podcast to be heard by more people. I'm so thankful for you and I can't wait to talk to you in the next one. Peace.
