Michelle (Social Media Strategist)
Hey. Hey, y'. All. Welcome back to Social Media Decoded. It's your girl, Michelle. Marketing strategist, creator of the collective, and the woman who loves turning chaos into clarity when it comes to your visibility online. And today, I'm pulling back the curtain on a real client case study. One that proves you do not need to go viral to grow. You just need a strategy that actually makes sense. We took what the client called a dead account. Yes, dead. And in just 30 days, here's what happened. 18,000 new views, 950 new interactions, 67 new followers, 76 shares. Same brand, same account, same audience, different strategy. So if you're feeling invisible right now, this episode is for you. Grab your pins and your notepads. Gems are about to be dropped. Let's get into it. The truth about dead accounts. Now, when a client comes to me and says, michelle, this account is dead, nothing is working. I already know what's going on. The account isn't dead. The strategy is. What I typically see is this posting without intention, content. That's cute. But not connected to revenue. No real content pillars, no audience research, and zero visibility rhythm. Meaning they post, disappear, panic, post, repeat. This client had great. A great business, a great mission, great potential, but no clarity. And here's what I always say, your visibility will always reflect your clarity. If you're unclear, your audience is unclear. So my job was not to fix the algorithm. My job is to fix the strategy so that the algorithm had something to work with. And that's exactly what we did. Step one is cleaning up the content. The very first thing that we did, we simplified the content pillars. They maybe had eight to 10 content topics they weren't posting. And none of them connected back to the main thing that they do in business. So we narrowed it down to three visibility categories. Authority, content showing their expertise, community content, connecting, building posts and conversion content inviting people to take the next step. I told them we don't need more content, we need purpose. And when we cleaned up the purpose, their audience finally understood what they do with the content. Step two, the audience diagnostic. Next, we analyze who was actually engaging. This is where most brands mess up. They post what they like, not what their audience likes. So we asked, what do people share the most? What causes conversations in the DMs? What real problems are showing up in the DMs? When do people save posts? And what we discussed was powerful. Their people didn't want polished content. They wanted straight talk, relatable content with practical takeaways.
Once we shifted the tone from cute aesthetic to real and useful, engagement tripled. But this next step, this is what made the momentum stick. Step three, intentional engagement. I will say it a thousand times, engagement is not optional. It's part of your visibility system. Every day. Yes, every day. We created 10 to 15 minutes. Engagement is not optional. It's part of your visibility system. Every day. Yes, every day. We created a 10 to 15 minute engagement rhythm. Commenting thoughtfully on aligned accounts, responding quickly to new comments, engaging with stories, following ideal audience profiles, DM conversations when appropriate. This is not hustle culture. This is relationship culture. Visibility is not just posting. Visibility is presence. And here's the part that y' all love to skip. The client actually did it. They trusted the system. They didn't argue, they didn't overthink, they didn't self sabotage. And that is the real reason the numbers turned around the 30 day results. Now let's talk numbers one more time. Because results are results. And I have receipts. 18,000 new views, 950 interactions. 67 new followers, 76 share posts. Many accounts don't see that in six months, we did it in one. Not because we posted more, but because we posted with purpose. Not because we hacked the algorithm, but because we understood the audience. Not because the account magically came back to life, but because the strategy finally made sense. What does this mean for your brand? So here's my question to you listening. Is your account dead or is your strategy just unclear? Do you wake up every week knowing what to post and why, or are you still throwing spaghetti at the Internet? Do you know your top three content pillars? Your visibility rhythm? What your audience actually wants? How your content connects to your revenue?
If not, you don't have a social media problem. You have a strategy problem. And that's fixable.
