So if you're serious about launching but you want someone else to handle all of the logistics, the tech, the setup, the vision, the everything I got you. Now let's get into today's episode. First, should you start a podcast? That is the big question is, is a podcast the right move for your business? A podcast is a great fit if the following you want to build authority and position yourself as an expert. You've already started creating content and want a longer form, evergreen format you want to attract higher quality leads and nurture them in a deeper way. You're looking for a new marketing channel that doesn't rely on algorithms. Fun fact. According to Edison Research, 42% of people in the US listen to podcasts every month and those listeners are more engaged, loyal and likely to buy from the brands that they trust. Now I want to be 100 with you about if a podcast is not right for you, okay, a podcast might not be a good fit for you if you don't have at least two to three hours a month to plan and record episodes, you're not willing to stay consistent for at least six months and you expect overnight results. Because podcasting, my friend, is a long term strategy. So if you checked off most of the yes boxes, then a podcast might be exactly what your business needs. Now let's talk about the benefits of having a podcast. Podcasting is worth it. And let's talk about how it can transform your brand. The first thing is that it builds trust fast. People spend 20 to 40 minutes listening to a single episode. That's way more than the three seconds they give to you on an Instagram. Real Friend when people listen to your voice consistently, they start to feel like they know you, which makes selling to them a bit easier. The second thing is that it helps you to stand out from the competitors. Most businesses focus on social media and blogs. A podcast adds a unique layer to your brand and positions you as the go to expert. The third thing? It generates high quality leads. Podcast listeners are more engaged and likely to take action than social media followers. You can also strategically promote your offers inside of episodes, just like I'm doing now. Wink. It's also repurposable. Okay, it's repurposable content. One podcast episodes equals multiple pieces of content for reals, TikToks, LinkedIn posts, and even email newsletters. My friend. A podcast is like having a 247 marketing machine that works for you long after you hit that publish button. And real quick, before we get into the next section, let's talk about the tool that I use to record my podcast, which is Riverside. If you want high quality audio and video recording without the tech headaches, I highly recommend it. Plus I've got a special link where you can get started. Just click down below in the show notes to grab my affiliate link and get started recording with Riverside. Now let's talk about what you need to launch a podcast. And I know what you're thinking, Michelle. I need to start a podcast. But what does it actually tell? Take okay friend, here is a simple breakdown. You're going to want to start with a clear podcast topic and audience. What's your show about? Who is it for? Your podcast should align with your business and serve the same audience that you want to attract. Recording and editing setup. You don't need a fancy studio, just a quality mic and a quiet space. Because believe it or not, I'm filming in my room. I just have somewhere that's quiet, my microphone and my computer. That's all that you need, friend. The best beginner mic, the Audio Technica AR2100X or the Shure MV7. And one of my clients who I just help via my podcast launch service, she just launched her podcast shout out to Dr. Sandy Williams. Go check out her podcast the Purple Circle. So excited for you Dr. Sandy Williams. I'm saying that because I know that she got the SH MV7. We went over all the tech and everything that she needed and I helped her to determine the best microphone for her, her setup and everything. She also uses Riverside, so I just wanted to share that and the recording tool. Duh. Riverside. Seriously, it makes podcasting so easy. Number three is a content plan. Start with five to ten episodes ideas before you launch and have a mix of solo episodes, guest interviews, and question and answer sessions. Now, the last thing you're going to want to have is a promotion strategy. Repurpose your podcast into reels, blog posts and emails. Share it everywhere. Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and your email list friend. Now feeling overwhelmed. That's why I created the Done for you podcast launch service. So you don't have to stress over the tech, the editing for your first few episodes, or the promotion. We'll handle everything so that all you do is show up to record.
