Michelle Thames
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Social Media Decoded podcast. The number one podcast to help you understand social media better so that you grow your business, get more clients and monetize. And I'm your host, Michelle and today we're talking about mastering the marketing game. Now, do you ever feel like you're spending too many plates in your business? You are trying to master Instagram, perfect your email campaigns and still somehow find time to engage with your community? Well, what if I told you that you didn't have to do it all alone, friend? Today I am sharing my journey as a Jane of all trades and marketing and how I've mastered the art of doing it all so that you don't have to and why this could be the key to unlocking your next level of your brand. So if you're new here, if you're not new here, welcome back. Okay, I've worked with many major brands. In the beginning of my career, I worked with a major startup beauty brand helping them reach millions online. We then turned those clicks into millions in revenue. Now, through my digital marketing agency, Fames Media Solutions, I help businesses of all sizes and all types build their digital presence, grow their communities, and yes, increase their revenue. And here in today's episode, I'm going to share a little bit more of my story, the power of being a multi passionate marketer because sometimes it's not easy and how I can help you simplify and scale your marketing strategies. Okay, so I want to share just a little bit of my journey again as a Jane of all trades. I know people, you know, hear them and say, oh, my goodness, you know, people can do everything or you don't want to be the person to do everything. But sometimes, you know, being multi passionate, multi talented can be a good thing. Okay, so I was fired from my healthcare job back in 2016. I have a bachelor's and a master's degree in healthcare administration. I went to Northern Illinois University. Shout out to the NIU Huskies. If you are niu, you Husky listening to this podcast, send me a DM at Michelle L. Thames. Shout out to my NIU Huskies. But I went to Northern, got my undergrad. Then I went to Governor State, any Governor State University, people listening. I went there to get my master's degree. Now, during this time, I had started a side hustle. I had started my blog. I don't even want to call it a side hustle at that point because I didn't really know what it would turn into. But I started blogging. I started sharing my experience as a natural, natural hair blogger, going through my journey from my relaxer to growing my natural hair. And it was, you know, sharing my story on my blog and on social media at the time. And then I started freelance writing after I was fired. You know, it was really that turning point where it was like, well, what am I going to do? So I turned to freelance writing once my unemployment was up, and literally to the day, probably my unemployment was up. I then landed a role with a major beauty brand where I helped to build their digital marketing foundation and helped to drive significant revenue, reach significant milestones within the business. The business is now, you know, it's doing amazing. They partnered with Procter and Gamble, so that's a huge, huge thing to be able to build the foundation of a brand like that and be a part of the beginning of a company like that. So I then transition into running my own digital marketing agency alongside my husband, leveraging my experience to help clients achieve results across multiple platforms. And as you know, I am multi passionate. So I also have this podcast. I am a speaker. I have a group coaching program. I do one on ones. I do it all. Okay, I do it all. And I want to share just some lessons that I've learned. What I really learned early on is that you don't have to pick just one marketing lane. I know it's. It seems like you have to, but you don't. Instead, if you want to like me, you can master multiple lanes. And I feel like when you do, you become unstoppable. That's what I bring to my clients, a deep understanding of marketing strategies across platforms, from social media to email to pr and how to make them all work together. Okay? And you know, you've probably heard the advice, stick to one thing and do it well. But I'm multi passionate, okay? And I believe that it is my super power. I've always felt out of place when I started my business, like, oh my God, I have all these skills. And recently I said, how do I fit this just all into one thing? And God was like, you can't. And so I am listening to that and I cannot fit what I do into just one thing. Okay? I cannot do that. So the truth is, businesses today need a well rounded approach. Social media is just not enough. Bar, do you hear that? Social media is just not enough. Paid ads aren't enough. You need a strategy that integrates all the pieces seamlessly. And that's where being a Jane of all trades come in. And my approach really to marketing is super holistic. Okay? My approach to holistic marketing includes social media, where we're building communities and driving engagement, email marketing, turning those subscribers into loyal customers, PR and brand awareness, crafting stories that resonate with audiences and get media attention, influencer campaigns, leveraging authentic voices to amplify your message. And I do have some client success stories. I know I don't talk a whole, whole lot about my clients here on the social media decoded podcast, but I want to, you know, share some of my clients with you and some of their success stories. Stories. Sometimes I'm so deep in working that, you know, I forget to take a look back and look at our success. But I recently worked with a client who has some amazing hair care products and they were just overwhelmed by all the marketing options. There's so many things to do. And so we decided to develop a PR and influencer campaign plan and eventually turned into affiliate marketing program for this brand. So I'm really excited. We are in the beginning stages of really developing this new and improved affiliate marketing program. But we were able to help them reach more creators and influencers. We were helping to send some PR packages. We created a cohesive plan and I feel like we're going to be able to launch with a killer campaign. One of my other clients last year, we worked on email marketing for their Black Friday and our Black Friday campaign was able to generate the the brand $75,000 in a weekend. Okay. So again, killer campaigns can help three times your return on investment. Right? My clients don't have to worry about the details because we take care of all of that for them. Okay. We take care of that for our clients. Now, how can I help your business grow? I can help your business in many ways. Again, I am a Jane of all trades. We have a my digital marketing agency where we work with six, seven and eight figure businesses and solopreneurs really looking for someone to come in and help them manage their social media, really give them a plan and work strategically alongside of our agency every month. But I do also have my coaching and consulting business where I work with entrepreneurs one on one. I do VIP days, I have a group coaching program, I do events, retreats, so many things. Okay, so I do offer marketing audits. Okay, definitely. If you're like, I just need to know what's working, what's not, and what are your best opportunities. And so that is something that I do also offer. I also offer full service marketing, which what I discussed earlier in my digital marketing agency. From strategy to execution, our team handles all of the moving parts so that you can focus on running your business. So if you feel like you're in a place where it's time, it's really time to let somebody else do the marketing, definitely hit us up. I've been on the corporate side, I've been on the solopreneur side, I've been on the agency side.
