Hey there and welcome back to the Social Media Decoded Podcast. I'm hey everyone, I'm your host Michelle Thames and today is a very special episode because, friend, can you believe it? We are celebrating 500 episodes. Yes, you heard that right. 500. And I'm so grateful that you're here with me today whether You've been with me since the beginning or you're new to the show. Thank you for pressing play. Thank you for your support and for believing in the power of your own voice and brand. I started this podcast sitting in my bedroom with a simple idea to help entrepreneurs and business owners make sense of social media and digital marketing. I didn't have any fancy equipment, just a deep passion and a lot of faith. Then I did it. I launched my first episode. I was nervous and I wondered, won't anyone even listen to this? But I hit record anyway. I kept showing up, even on days when the downloads were low, even on the days when I felt like giving up and when I questioned if this would ever amount to anything. And now Here we are, 500 plus episodes in ranked in the top 1% of podcasts worldwide. I'm honored beyond words. But let's get real. This journey wasn't always easy. There were late night editing, interviews that fell through at the last minute, moments of burnout, and yes, days when I thought about quitting all together. But there were also days of pure joy. The first time a listener messaged me to say an episode changed your life. The excitement of landing incredible guests, and moments of deep personal growth that I could have never imagined. So if you're listening today and you have a dream to start something, whether it's a podcast, a business, or a new chapter in your life, let this be a sign. Keep going, start messy, and stay consistent. Because it's not about being perfect. It's about being persistent. Now I want to share some of the strategies that helped me build this podcast into the top 1% podcast it is today and turn it into a platform that has opened doors that I've never dreamed of. First things first, and it's probably a broken record. Consistency is key. I've showed up episode after episode, even when it felt like no one was listening. Over time, that consistency compounded building trust and an engaged community. Second, I made my community my priority. I did. I didn't just speak at my audience, I spoke with them. I invited feedback, listened to what you wanted, and created episodes that truly served. Third, I promoted every episode relentlessly. I used social media, my email list, and I repurposed content so that each episode could reach more people. Fourth, I invested in quality. Switching to Riverside as my recording tool made a huge difference in my sound quality. And that helped attract bigger guests and build even more credibility. Riverside. And finally, I didn't do it alone. I joined the Bleeve Network, a community of talented podcasters and that partnership helped me level up my reach and connect with even more amazing listeners like you. So what does 500 episodes mean to me? Wow. It. It means growth. It means resilience. I'm, like, trying to hold back tears right now, y'. All. For real recording this because it means that I believed in myself even when things didn't look promising. It means that now I have a platform to inspire, to teach and empower thousands of entrepreneurs every single week. Heck, every single day. It also means opportunity. This podcast has led to coaching, clients, speaking engagements, and brand partnerships. I've been able to work with incredible people and organizations who value my expertise. It also means opportunity. This podcast has led to oops, cut that out. And if you're listening today and thinking, michelle, how do I do this too? I want you to know that you can. Here are three steps to get started on your own journey. The first thing is to define your unique voice and know exactly who you want to serve. The second thing is to, yep, stay consistent. Commit to showing up even when it's hard. And third, build authentic relationships. Don't be afraid to reach out to collaborate and also pitch yourself. If you take anything away from today's episode, let it be this. Your voice matters, your story matters, and the world needs what you have to share. Before we wrap up, I want to extend the invitation.
