Hello everyone, and welcome to the Social Media Decoded Podcast. The number one podcast to help you understand social media better so that you grow your business, get more clients and monetize. And today we are stripping away the fluff like always and get into the real strategies that actually help you grow your business. And I'm Michelle Thames, a marketing strategist, business coach, and someone who couldn't care less about fancy work titles. And if you love this episode, keep me caffeinated by grabbing me a matcha at the Buy me a coffee link in my show notes. All right, let's talk about something real. Your job title does not matter as much as you think it does. Here's a fact. Did you know that 85% of jobs are filled through networking and connections, not because of someone's job title? But we've been conditioned to think that what's on LinkedIn, our LinkedIn profile, our business card, is the key to success. And friend it is not. Today I'm breaking down why work titles are overrated and what actually matters in business and how to position yourself for real success. Title or no title, let's get into it. Titles don't pay the bills. Boo. If you call yourself a CEO, founder, head of growth, or marketing ninja, you could call yourself that all you want. But if you're not making money, it doesn't really mean much. Your skills, relationship and execution matter. Way more than a label you put on yourself. The reality is that success isn't about the title you have, it's about the value that you bring. Here's an action step I want you to take today. Stop worrying about your title and start focusing on the results that you deliver. Here's the second reason why titles don't really matter is because people care about what you can do, not what you're called. The most successful entrepreneurs, freelancers and business owners aren't known for their titles. They're known for their impact. Steve Jobs wasn't just successful because he was the co founder of Apple. He was successful because he built game changing products. Oprah isn't just a TV host. She built an empire based on trust, influence and storytelling. Some of the highest paid consultants and coaches don't even have official titles. They just get results. Here's an action step. Instead of getting stuck on what to call yourself, get obsessed with what you actually do that makes an impact. And friend, if you want to be a real success in business, not just a flashy title, you need to be in a rooms where actual growth happens. And that's exactly what we do at our Elevate and Connect monthly networking event for women entrepreneurs and professionals. It is happening again on April 8th. It is the second Tuesday of every single month at 12:00 Central Standard Time and it is just $7. So for my women professionals and entrepreneurs, come and join us because this isn't just another networking event. It is a space where real connections lead to real opportunities. So my friend, if you're tired of hiding behind a title and you want to actually build something that pays you go ahead and grab your spot at the link in the show notes. All right, let's get into what actually matters more than titles. Number one, your skills and expertise. Friend. A title is meaningless if you have if you don't have the skills to back it up. Friend, can you solve a problem? Can you give people results? Can you communicate your value? Here's your action step. Focus on leveling up your skills, not just upgrading your title. Number two, your network and reputation is what actually matters more than titles. Success in business is about who knows you and trusts you. Your client, investor or collaboration will come from relationships, not a title. I bet you 100%. People hire, buy from and refer people that they trust, not people with a fancy LinkedIn headline. Action Step. Build your network. Get in the right rooms, join the right communities and engage with the right people who matter. The third thing is your ability to execute the highest Paid people in any industries aren't the ones with the best titles. They're the ones who get things done. And baby, I get things done. Done. Okay. Can you deliver results? Sure can. Do you follow through? Oh, baby, I am a follow through expert. And can people rely on you 100%? They can. Here's the action step I want you to do today. Stop hiding behind your title and start showing people what you can do. All right? I don't care if I have this fancy marketing strategist, chief fractional, chief marketing officer, blah, blah, blah. None of it matters. I'm here to tell you it doesn't matter. Showcase your skills and what you can actually do. That's what matters. Okay, so let's break it down one last time, friend. Your title does not pay the bills, but your skills do. People care about results, not what's on that business card. Okay? And success, my friend, is built on execution, reputation and relationships, not labels. So here's your next move. If you're serious about growing your business, stop worrying about your title and start focusing on your value. The second thing and action I want you to take is go ahead and join, elevate and Connect on April 8th. Because it's the right connections that are worth more than any title. Okay? If you love this episode, friend, go ahead and show me some support by buying me a matcha and my buy me a coffee link in the show notes. And if this episode made you rethink everything, friends, screenshot it shared on Instagram stories and tag me at Michelle Thames at social media decoded pod. And let's get more entrepreneurs focused on the work that actually matters. Until next time, my friend, ditch the titles and do the work that gets you paid. All right, I will talk to y'all in the next one. Peace.
