And welcome back to the Social Media Decoded Podcast. The number one podcast to help you understand social media better so that you grow your business, get more clients and monetize. And I'm your host, Michelle Thames. I'm your host, Michelle Thames. And today we're talking all about a platform that is often overlooked but has the potential to completely transform your business, my friend. And that is Pinterest. Now, before you roll your eyes and think, isn't Pinterest just for recipes and DIY projects? Michelle, let me stop you right there. Pinterest is one of the most powerful passive lead generation tools out there. It's not social media, okay? It's a search engine. And when you use it strategically, it can drive traffic to your website, it can grow your email list and help you land clients all while you sleep. And if you're ready to dive even deeper into strategies for platforms like Pinterest, you'll love my Elevate and Empower Entrepreneurs Women Community. It's my paid program where I bring in experts, guest experts that know more than me, right? And we share advanced strategies and help entrepreneurs just like you grow your business with confidence. So if that sounds like something that fits you and that you're interested in, definitely more on that later. Okay? But I just wanted to tell you about my Elevate and Empowerment women's entrepreneur community. Okay? Again, it is a paid community and it is amazing. So more on that later. Okay? But let's talk about why Pinterest is a game changer for Businesses. Let's start with why Pinterest is so powerful. Unlike Instagram or Facebook, where content has a short shelf life, pins on Pinterest can drive traffic for months, even years. That's because Pinterest is a search engine. Yep, it's a search engine. People go there with the intent to find solutions, ideas and inspiration. And your content provides what they're looking for. Okay, what they're looking for, you're in. Here's the best part. Pinterest users are planners. They're often in the early stages of decision making, which means they're open to discovering new products, services, or ideas. Whether you're a coach, a product based business, or a service provider, Pinterest can be a game changer for driving traffic and leads passively. All right, so how do you actually use Pinterest to grow your business? Let me break that down step by step. Let me break it down. How to use Pinterest for lead generation. First things first. Your Pinterest profile. It does need to be optimized. That means your username, bio and board should clearly communicate with what you do and who you help. You want to use keywords that your ideal audience is searching for on Pinterest. For example, if you are a business coach for women entrepreneurs, your bio might say something like helping women entrepreneurs grow their businesses with simple strategies and actionable tips. Include a link to your website or lead magnet to capture traffic right away. Next, it's all about pension. Your pins need to grab attention and engage clicks. Here's how to make them stand out. Use bold, readable text overlays on your images. Incorporate colors and fonts that align with your brand and add a clear call to action like download now or learn more. And might I say, my friend Canva has templates. It absolutely does. And remember, Pinterest is visual. So choose high quality vertical images that stick, stop the scroll, and again, Tools like Canva make it super easy to design beautiful pins, even if you're not a graphic designer friend. Because ain't none of us a graphic designer, okay? We are all out here, a lot of us using Pinterest, me included. Okay, so let's talk about linking to valuable content. That's step number three. Okay, Step number two was create click worthy pins. Step three, link to valuable content. Every pin that you create should link to something valuable. Whether that's a blog post, a freebie, or a product page, or even a podcast episode. The goal is to drive traffic to your website where you can capture leads and nurture them. For example, if You're a fitness coach, you might create a pin titled 5 Quick Workouts for Busy Moms. That link goes to a blog post on your website. At the end of the blog, include a call to action for a free workout guide or a coaching session. See how that works. Pinterest drives traffic and your content does the rest, my friend. Now step four is my favorite. Be consistent. Yes. Like any platform, consistency is key on Pinterest. Aim to pin daily, even if it's five to ten pins. Even if it's just five to ten pins, you can use tools like Tailwind. I used to be an avid Tailwind user, baby. Okay. To schedule pins in advance, making it super easy to stick. Stay consistent without spending hours on the platform. I'm about to get back on Tailwind as I am recording this podcast for you all. And don't forget, and I'm about to revamp my whole Pinterest. Okay? Because in 2025, I said I'm going big or go home. Because y'all know I believe in multi channel marketing and omnipresence. And I have a YouTube channel, I'm on threads and I'm not using Pinterest in those three places I think are definitely places that my clients are where I can expand my clientele. And if I start now and I'm telling everything I tell you all, I'm, I, I practice what I preach. I need to be consistent with that because it's, it's a, this can be a lighter lift on. Oh my God. Creating this, all this content. Yes, you create it. But I'm sure you got blog posts and all type of things that you've written. Okay. And that you can use. And so repurposing that content, blog posts, Instagram carousels, TikTok videos turned into Pinterest posts, work smart and not hard. And so I'm taking my own advice. Okay? So be consistent. I'm gonna be consistent and I wanna talk to you again about my elevate and empower women's entrepreneur community. Now this is for you. If you are a woman entrepreneur, really looking for a community of like minded women entrepreneurs to help you grow and scale your business. Now this is my paid membership where I bring an expert guests, we share advanced strategies and provide resources that you need to grow your business with confidence. We do monthly masterminds, co working sessions, all type of fun things. I have resources, templates, trainings, videos, everything in there. I'm always adding new things. The members are always asking for new things in there. So if you want to Learn platforms like Pinterest. While I'm going through Pinterest and learning and strategizing and testing, I'm going to be writing it down so I can share with my community. So if you want to be able to maximize platforms like Pinterest and other lesser used tools like podcasts, email marketing and things that really going to help you drive results, this community is for you. So head down to the link in the show notes if you want to learn more about it. If you want to get on a call with me to talk about it, let's do it. Okay. So how does Pinterest fit into your overall marketing strategy? Think of it as the top of your funnel. It is the top of funnel place. Pinterest drives traffic to your website, blog or landing pages. From there it is up to you. Yep, up to you. To capture leads and guide them through your sales process. And you should have a sales process. You should. If you don't, friend, let's talk. Because you need a sales process. This is where having a clear plan comes in. If someone clicks on your pin and lands on your website, what happens next? Are they greedy with a freebie, a lead magnet or a low ticket offer? Make sure your website is optimized to turn Pinterest traffic into actionable leads. And don't underestimate the power of analytics. Pinterest gives you insights into what's working and what's not. Use that data to double down on what's driving the most clicks and traffic. Okay. And if you are ready to dive deeper into strategies like this, just come on, you know. All right, let's wrap it up. Pinterest isn't just a platform for recipes and DIYs. It's a powerful tool for driving traffic and leads passively. By optimizing your profile, creating click worthy pins, linking to valuable content and staying consistent, you can leverage Pinterest to grow your business in 20, 25 and beyond.
