Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the podcast. If you're new here, welcome to Social Media Decoded, the show where we break down how to become visible, build authority, and turn your expertise into opportunities. I'm your host, Michelle Thames, and today we're talking about something that a lot of entrepreneurs want, but very few understand how to actually do. And that is becoming known in your industry. Because I hear this all the time. People say things like, I want to grow my audience. I want to become known for what I do. I want more opportunities. But what most people focus on is content only. Posting more reels, captions, algorithms, and listen. Content matters. But if we're being honest, some of the biggest opportunities in my career did not come from a post. They came from rooms. They came from conversations, relationships, and collaborations. So today we're going to talk about the fastest way to actually become known in your industry. Get your pens and your notepads ready because you already know gems are about to be dropped. All right, it's time for our segment called Visibility Breakdown. This is where we look at how people actually become visible and what we can learn from it. And today we're talking about something incredibly powerful. Stages and partnerships. If you look at people who are well known in their space, most of them didn't become known because they posted more content. They became known because they got in front of other people's audiences. That can happen through speaking, podcast, interviews, collaborations, panels, events, partnerships. When you show up on stage or collaborate with someone who already has trust with an audience, your visibility multiplies instantly. Think about it. If someone has spent years building trust with their audience and they invite you into that space, you now benefit from that trust. That is why speaking is so powerful. It's not just about giving a talk. It's about positioning. When someone introduces you on a Stage. Something happens psychologically. People see you differently. You're no longer just someone posting online. You become an authority. And that authority spreads through conversations. People start saying your name. They recommend you. They invite you into other opportunities. And this is how visibility compounds. Room story. All right, let's move into room stories, which is where I share real examples of how opportunities happen when you're around the right people. I want to share a story that actually happened recently in my life. Last August, I went to an event, and like a lot of events, you meet people, you talk, you exchange ideas. I met a amazing woman. And here's the interesting part. We didn't just exchange business cards and never talk again. We stayed connected. We built a relationship. Fast forward to November. She came to my event. We talked more. We got to know each other better. She joined my community. And then something powerful happened. We she mentioned my name in a room. And that one moment led to a speaking opportunity with Kimberly Clark North America. Think about that for a second. That opportunity didn't come from a viral post. It didn't come from a marketing funnel. It came from a relationship. It came from being in Aromatic. And now this coming week, I'm actually meeting with someone else from that same event to discuss potential partnerships. That is how opportunity grows. One conversation leads to another, one room leads to another room, and before you know it, your visibility has expanded into spaces you never planned. That's why I always tell entrepreneurs, don't underestimate the power of showing up. Not everything happens online. Some of the most powerful opportunities happen when people see your energy in real life. All right, it's time for our unpopular visibility truth. Here it is. Visibility grows faster through collaboration than competition. I think a lot of entrepreneurs feel like they have to figure everything out alone. They think that they're competing with everyone in their space. But the truth is, collaboration is one of the fastest ways to grow. When you collaborate with someone, you share audiences, you share ideas, you expand your network. And the people who grow the fastest understand this. They are constantly saying and asking, who can I collaborate with? What room should I be in? What conversations should I be having? Because the fastest way to become known in your industry is not trying to be everywhere. It's building relationships with the right people. If you enjoyed this episode, I'd love to hear from you. One of the best ways you can support the show is by leaving a rating or review on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. If you're listening on Spotify, make sure to answer the question for this episode. I always love hearing your thoughts and experiences. And if this episode helped you in any way and you want to support the podcast, you can also check out the Buy me a coffee link in the show notes. It's a simple way to support the work that goes into producing these conversations. And of course, if you're a woman entrepreneur who wants more visibility and more opportunities, I'd love to invite you into my community. Because the truth is, the right room can change everything. Thank you so much for listening and I'll talk to you in the next episode. Peace.
