welcome back to Social Media Decoded. I'm your host Michelle Thames, and today we're not talking about algorithms. We're not talking about posting frequency. We're not talking about hooks or trends. We're talking about the real reason you haven't grown. And I need you to lean in for this one. You because it's not your content. So get your pens and your notepads ready because you know gems are about to be dropped. The lie you've been sold let's just say it plainly. Most creators, entrepreneurs, founders, especially the smart ones, believe that growth is a content problem. If I posted more, if I had better hooks, if I was more consistent, if my reels perform better, then I'd grow. But here's what I've noticed. After years in rooms, behind campaigns, building brands and watching patterns, the people who aren't growing, it's rarely because of their content. It's because of clarity. It's because of positioning. It's because they haven't decided who they're building for. You can post every day. You can be consistent. You can even go viral and still be stuck. Because growth doesn't come from volume. It comes from conviction. The real problem. And it's subtle. Here's what's really happening. You are over consuming. You are overthinking. You are over adjusting. Every time someone else says something sounds smart, you tweak your messaging. Every time a new strategy trends, you consider pivoting. Every time engagement dips, you question your identity. That's not a content problem. That's a leadership problem. Growth requires steadiness and steadiness requires you to decide. This is what I stand on. This is who I serve this is the conversation I'm leading. Most people haven't done that work, so they stay in motion, but they don't move forward. The cost of not deciding. Let's talk about cost. When you don't decide, your content feels scattered, your audience feels confused, your offers feel disconnected, your confidence fluctuates weekly, and then you blame the algorithm. But the algorithm doesn't create confusion. Unclear positioning does. The algorithm amplifies clarity, it doesn't invent it. And if this is hitting you right now, good, because awareness is step one, what actually creates growth? So what does create growth? Three things. Number one, Decision. Not dabbling, not experimenting forever decision. Decide who you are for what you talk about, what you don't talk about, and what you are no longer available for. Growth accelerates when you stop negotiating with yourself. Number two, proximity information won't stretch you, rooms will. You can listen to 100 podcast episodes, but one conversation in the right room will changes everything. Growth compounds when you're around people who are operating at a different level of clarity. And this is why some people grow faster. Not because they're smarter, because they're closer to leadership energy. Number three, identity alignment. If your identity hasn't caught up to where you want to go, your content will always lag behind. You can't create authority content. If you don't see yourself as an authority, that's a bar. You can't attract premium clients if you still operate like a beginner. Growth is an identity shift, not a posting strategy. Action steps, because you know I'm about that action. So now I want you to actually do something. If you're listening on Spotify, go to the Q and A section and answer this. What have you been blaming on content that is actually a clarity problem? Be honest. I read these responses, and if this episode is hitting home, leave a review for your girl. Not because I need validation, but because this conversation needs to reach more people who are stuck in motion. And if you're on Apple podcasts, scroll down and leave a five star review. Tell me what landed. It helps this message travel. And for the guys listening. Okay, let me say something clearly. I know this message is not just about women. Yes, I serve women deeply. Yes, that is my core audience. But men struggle with this too. Especially high achieving men. You hide uncertainty behind productivity. You mask indecision with activity. But growth doesn't respond to hustle. It responds to clarity. So this applies to you too. Here's the truth most people avoid. You haven't grown because you haven't fully committed. You're testing. You're trying, you're seeing how it goes, but you haven't anchored. And anchoring feels scary because anchoring means now I'm visible, now I'm accountable, now I stand on this. But that's leadership. And leadership grows slower at first, but faster long term. So let me leave you with this. If you've been circling growth for months, it's not your content. It's your decision. It's your clarity. It's your proximity. And if you're ready to stop doing this alone, you already know where to find rooms that stretch you. But even if you're not there yet, start with this. Decide who you are and let your content follow. If this episode hit Share it Tag me michellelthames on Instagram Leave a Review Answer the Spotify question. Let's make this interactive. This is social media decoded and I'm Michelle Thames and I will talk to you and in the next one Peace.

In this thought-provoking episode, Michelle Thames challenges a widespread belief among entrepreneurs, creators, and founders: that stagnation or lack of growth on social media is always due to a content problem.
