It's Michelle Thames, a marketing strategist, visibility consultant, and someone who has spent the last six months 16 years on both sides of the influencer and brand table. Today's episode is one that I've been wanting to record for a long time because it's a conversation that rarely happens. Honestly, I've managed campaigns with 50 plus creators, worked directly with brands, agencies and internal teams, and what I've learned might surprise you. This episode is for creators who want more opportunities, brands who want better results, and entrepreneurs who want to be taken seriously in this this space. Grab your pens and your notepads, let's get into it. The Myth of Just Getting the Deal One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that landing the brand deal is the hard part. It's not. The real work starts after the contract is signed. Most creators think if I just get picked, everything will fall into place. But brands are looking for reliability, communication systems, professionalism, alignment, not just follower count. And this is where a lot of creators struggle. What brands actually care about after managing dozens of creators? Here's where brands consistently value clear communication on time delivery following the brief yes, following the brief understanding campaign goals, willingness to collaborate, respect for timelines, consistency over perfection. Some of the most viral creators were honestly the hardest to manage and some of the most professional creators, they didn't have the biggest platforms but they got rehired. That's the difference between visibility and viability. Here's where creators lose opportunity and here's the hard truth. And I say this with love. Creators lose opportunities when they don't read contracts or briefs, fully, miss deadlines, over promise and under deliver ghosts during campaigns. Treat brand deals casually and don't think long term brands Remember everything. One bad experience can remove you from future campaigns entirely even if your content was good. This is why systems Matter why Community and Systems Win Long Term the creators who win long term are not chasing every deal. They're building trust, reputation, relationships and community. They understand that one brand relationships are better than 10 one off deals. This is why I focus so heavily on visibility strategy, professional positioning, community led growth, boundaries and clarity because that's what brands invest in. If you want to work with brands, clients or companies long term, you need to be positioned as a partner and not just a creator. If you want help building that positioning, my VIP visibility days are designed to do exactly that. If you want the foundational roadmap, the Visibility and Clarity kit is the place to start. And if you're looking for longevity, not just the next check, this work matters. I cannot wait to talk to you in the next episode. Peace.
