Seehomedevot.com Pricematch for details hey everyone, welcome back to the podcast. If you're new here, welcome to Social Media Decoded, where we talk about visibility, personal branding, and how to actually turn what you're doing online into real opportunities and income. I'm your host, Michelle Thames, and today I want to talk about powertable Live. But not in a here's what happened type of way. More like here's what shifted for me because I've had a couple days now to really sit with it and I'm telling you right now, I'm not moving the same. So let's get into it. Okay? I want to talk about the real difference. So let me just start here. The biggest thing that stood out to me was not the content, it was the conversations. Like the level of conversation in that room. Completely different. Nobody was asking, quote unquote, what should I post? Nobody was like, what's the best time to post? That's not what we were talking about. We were talking about how are you actually getting clients right now? What is converting? Where are your best opportunities coming from and how are you leveraging what you already have? Now that's another level. And it made me realize that a lot of people are stuck because they're having the wrong conversations. Now I want to talk about what hit me, and this is the part that really hit me. For real. For real. Because being in that room reminded me you cannot shortcut proximity. You can. You can watch content all day, you can listen to podcasts, you can save posts, but being in a room where people are actually doing the work, where they're Moving where they're making decisions now, that's different. That shifts you. And I think a lot of people don't realize that might be the thing that they're missing. Not effort, not talent, not consistency, but proximity. What I am changing. So let me tell you what I'm actually changing. Because I don't go into rooms just to feel good. I go into rooms to evolve. Number one, I am done overthinking content. I'm not doing that anymore. Content matters, yes. But I've seen firsthand again, the people who are winning are not the ones posting the most. They're the ones having the best conversations. So I'm shifting my focus to conversations, connection, and death. I am being more intentional about rooms not showing up, just everywhere, not just saying yes to everything, but being in the spaces where people are aligned, people are moving, people are building, because that matters. Number three, I'm doubling down on my ecosystem. This was a big one because everything connects. Your content, your podcast, your events, your community, it all works together. And I'm being even more intentional about that because visibility alone is not enough for real talk. Let me say this, some of you listening right now, you're doing a lot. You're posting, you're showing up, you're trying, but nothing is really shifting. And I want you to hear this clearly. That doesn't mean that you're doing it wrong. It might mean that you're doing it alone. And that. And that's a different problem. Content gets you seen, conversations get you paid. And if this is hitting you and you're like, yeah, I've been doing this all by myself. Yeah, I feel like I'm missing something. Yeah, I need to shift. I want you to DM me the word reset on Instagram R E S C Tichellel Thames. And I'm going to send you exactly what I'm doing this month. The rooms, the spaces, the things you can tap into. So you're not trying to figure this out alone because you don't have to. If you enjoyed this episode, make sure you follow and leave a review and I'll see you in the next one. Peace.

Episode: What I Learned From PowerTable Live (And What I’m Changing)
Host: Michelle Thames
Date: May 4, 2026
In this reflective solo episode, Michelle Thames recaps her key takeaways from attending PowerTable Live, a high-level industry event. Rather than detailing the event’s content, she shares the deeper professional and personal shifts she experienced from being surrounded by growth-minded peers. Michelle discusses why proximity, deep connection, and intentional action are game-changers in building a successful social media business. She outlines how her priorities are changing and offers direct advice and encouragement for listeners who feel stuck or isolated in their entrepreneurial journeys.
Timestamp: 00:51 – 02:10
Shift in Dialogue:
Michelle notes the “level of conversation in that room…completely different.” Instead of basic questions like “what should I post?” or “what’s the best time to post?”, attendees discussed advanced topics focused on results:
Insight:
The most progress comes from engaging in higher-level, actionable conversations rather than getting stuck on surface-level tactics.
“A lot of people are stuck because they're having the wrong conversations.”

Timestamp: 02:11 – 02:58
Proximity vs. Consumption:
Michelle emphasizes that being physically or virtually close to ambitious, proactive people is transformational.
Key Takeaway:
“You cannot shortcut proximity.” Being among high-level peers is irreplaceable for growth.
“You can watch content all day, you can listen to podcasts, you can save posts, but being in a room where people are actually doing the work...that’s different. That shifts you.”
— Michelle Thames [02:21]
Timestamp: 02:59 – 04:13
Michelle lays out three actionable shifts inspired by PowerTable Live:
Done Overthinking Content
Selective With Rooms & Networking
Doubling Down on Her Ecosystem
“Visibility alone is not enough for real talk.”
— Michelle Thames [04:07]
Timestamp: 04:14 – 05:30
Addressing Listeners Directly:
Michelle reassures listeners that if they're showing up but not seeing results, they may not be doing it “wrong”—they may just be doing it alone.
Actionable Advice:
“That doesn’t mean that you’re doing it wrong. It might mean that you’re doing it alone. And that...that’s a different problem.”
— Michelle Thames [04:36]
Michelle’s approach is candid, direct, and supportive. She balances vulnerability about her own evolution with motivational language, urging listeners to think beyond surface-level tactics and seek out deeper collaboration.
For listeners seeking to elevate their marketing strategies, this episode offers practical and mindset-driven advice on why where and with whom you spend your time matters as much as what you do—perhaps even more.
