Frankie
Cool. 235. Perfect.
Sass
Alrighty. Welcome back to the Son of a Boy dad podcast. It's June 15th, it's 2:30pm we're in Chicago and we are joined by Big Cat.
Big Cat
What's up boys?
Sass
Thank you for being here.
Big Cat
First question, how many ads on this episode?
Sass
Oh, that is a good question. I don't know if we have them yet.
Francis
Do we? Four.
Frankie
Okay.
Big Cat
Because I'm looking to take like a little private vacation. So I figure whatever I do on this show, it gets kicked back to me. Right? We all split it so we can.
Francis
Yeah.
Big Cat
Good.
Frankie
I'm glad you understand.
Big Cat
That's how it works.
Frankie
That's how earlier in the weeks we had Mook and Jerry on and they, they represented their side of the story. I feel like you, you had a, a very unique bird's eye view of, of, of Sass's Comments.
Big Cat
This past week, there's something about when Sass gets going, and I can see it in his face. I'm like, oh, he's gonna do it. He's go. He's gonna say a really dumb thing right now. I love it about him. And I also think that Sass, like, I. I said to Jerry right after, I was like, he, like, sass is not. It's not a malicious thing that he said. He's just.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Young and, like, maybe a little immature. Sorry if that hurts your feelings. But, like, I used to think that too, where it's like, oh, we do this thing, we get this money. Where's my cut?
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
And then you start to get older and you're like, oh, yeah, Yeah. I think, like, when I salaries.
Sass
Yeah. When I first started on the Yak, I think that was the worst I ever was.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
That was where I was like, I should 100% of the app. Yeah.
Big Cat
Right, right. You're like, oh, that's not how it works.
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
Yeah, I've gotten better. But last week was a bad week. It was a big, big up.
Big Cat
You must be shocked whenever, like, NFL players go to collective bargaining and they're like, how are they not getting 100%? What do you mean?
Frankie
The team is worth 4 billion, and they're only getting paid 50 million. Joe Burrow's getting robbed.
Big Cat
Joe Burrow should be making $3 billion a year.
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
I believe in a free market.
Big Cat
Have you talked to Dave recently?
Sass
No, I. Last time. This is great.
Big Cat
This is awesome. Sass and I will just talk over here.
Sass
Last time that I talked to Dave was my negotiation, which went well.
Big Cat
Yeah. Didn't you. Didn't you sign on for more this time?
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
When it was a good talk and everything went well. I don't know. I can't say things are going well now. I feel like.
Big Cat
I think they're fine.
Sass
I think they're fine. The big problem with that whole thing last week, which I talked about it a little bit already, but the big problem was that. So we ran out of things to talk about. On Son of a Boy, that episode, like, we were out, I was like, I'm just gonna talk about.
Big Cat
No one had taken a flight that week.
Frankie
Exactly.
Sass
Exactly.
Francis
Stomach was working.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
We're strapped for topics.
Big Cat
Normal bowel movements.
Sass
Yeah. So we're back half of the episode. I'm like, let's talk about this. The pro. The biggest issue with that was we had the meeting with Austin right after that.
Big Cat
Right.
Sass
And the meeting went very well.
Big Cat
Okay.
Sass
We Were all like, all right, that makes sense. Like, he cleared up all of the things that we had.
Big Cat
This is the same thing we had when we had the meeting.
Sass
It's a reoccurring meeting. We have to have the meeting like, once a week.
Big Cat
I said that? Yeah, yeah.
Sass
Just to remind ourselves, like, oh, yeah, that makes sense. And then we got to, like, a great place. Everything made sense. Every Jerry was like, I get it.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
You know, he was given another. I get it. And then the next morning, that podcast came out, which I also did think about having it cut. And then I was like, I don't even think I said anything that crazy. And then, you know, you wake up and you see the Dave tweet, which that's happened to me a lot.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
I mean, pretty accustomed to that.
Big Cat
I said to Francis the other day, like, the Dave is. It's the invisible guest theory, where it's like, as much as you think Dave is thinking about you, he's not. He saw you for a second, tweeted it, then went out.
Sass
That's along. Yeah. In his day, that's exactly what I was. Dude, he's in Miami and he's rich. As he's not thinking about us at all.
Big Cat
Right. Which is actually probably a strength that Dave has in terms of, like a leader, is that everyone is always being like, man, Dave's thinking about me.
Sass
Definitely not at all.
Frankie
He's on the beach and like, he still is a pretty high volume tweeter. So you can go through his timeline and be like, he's talked about 12 things today and you're down here. Yeah, you've been pushed down. But I'm sure it was the. Well, I don't even think it was that bad for you in the moment. I'm sure it was worse for Jerry.
Sass
Yeah, it wasn't that bad for me. I just felt bad because I put Jerry and Mook in a tough spot. And then obviously it really well.
Big Cat
And you also kind of did the math and you're like, jerry's making how much?
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
Then that obviously comes to life, and
Big Cat
it's a lot tough for everyone. Mook said, listen, Jerry. I mean, Jerry is Albert Haynesworth.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
He got all his sacks, he signed his big deal, and then he got on his boat and started racing around. I say that. And by the way, I've said this to Jerry's face a hundred times, so it's not like I'm talking behind his
Frankie
back, but Albert Haynes were signed for seven years, $100 million.
Big Cat
No one was making 100 laying on the ground.
Sass
Yeah, it's tough. Mook said he was trying to figure out where he was in the seven. Seven figures
Francis
to the algebra.
Frankie
But I mean, learning experience, you know, I'm sure you have to deal with people's. You know, I don't even.
Big Cat
I told the success before when Bush was starting, because it was. It was kind of bubbling up again, like this similar situation. Then I got. I got on a call with him and I explained it to him. And then after, I called him separately and I was like, dude, the. The biggest advice I can give you is, like, when we started with pmt, I remember, like, there was always a little tension between Dave and Erica and. And PMT because PMT was growing at such a crazy pace. And I was like, every time I let it fester up, I would make like this boogeyman thought in my head of, like, Dave and Eric are trying to keep us down. And then I'd go talk to Dave and he would just, like, talk to me, like, oh, that makes sense. Yeah. It's like the longer that you let it fester and the bigger it gets in your head. You start, like, creating invisible enemies.
Sass
Definitely.
Big Cat
And then. And then they. And then he tells you exactly what it is. You're like, oh, yeah, okay.
Sass
Yeah.
Frankie
It kind of reminds me of like the James Corden or like, who. Who is the late night show that just ended and, oh, Stephen Colbert.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
And there was a hundred or like 300 people on the stage, and everybody's like, that's like, at barstool, we only have like, four people that work on every show. But it's like, when you. When you actually look at it, like, the marketing people and the people and the HR people and the merch people and the security people all have to be paid out of it. So it's like the team is bigger than anybody ever realizes. But those sweets were bangers in real time.
Big Cat
Our HR person, I don't know, you guys, probably Kim, of course, she's the best. Yeah, I.
Frankie
She lets everything fly.
Big Cat
If you want to talk about, like, Dave's got a book coming out. Part of my takes got a book coming out. That's the book that I would read. Kim. I mean, she has the hardest job in the world because everyone jokes like, do you guys even have hr? Like, yeah, yeah, she's awesome.
Frankie
People. People think because of stuff that's come out that, like, oh, barstool. Just like, anything flies. What if you. What if you knew the stuff that didn't? What if you knew the Lists of, of naughty, naughty things that have happened.
Sass
And that's got to be a really hard job.
Big Cat
Oh, you think?
Sass
I mean this for sure.
Big Cat
Like pulling out her phone when. When we're doing like Vegas spring break. Oh, yeah.
Sass
She's like, well, yeah, this is broken every rule that we have in place.
Francis
So funny. On, on the pod, like a few weeks ago, the interns had just arrived in new. I said, boy, they're a good looking bunch. And I. That haunted me. And I meant boy. And I was like, quick to be like boys and girls just as a collective group. They're handsome kids.
Big Cat
But is it, is that true? Because we, we got all uglies.
Sass
Really?
Big Cat
No, I'm just kidding.
Francis
No, not really.
Sass
I don't know.
Francis
They're handsome here too.
Sass
I don't really. Well, we don't really have any like, content interns. Right. It's all like upstairs people. It's all like product or like, oh,
Francis
do we not have any content?
Sass
I don't think so.
Frankie
Now it's 14 total. Only seven did the intern interview. Seven.
Big Cat
Seven opt outs?
Frankie
Yeah, we had seven opt outs.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Damn.
Frankie
Which wasn't an option to opt out. But yeah, to your point, like, you, you thought what you did was bad?
Francis
Well, I, it just, it rang in my head like, oh, saying interns are attractive. It's really pretty down the line.
Frankie
That's like a 1990s transgression.
Francis
Oh, my Bill Clinton.
Frankie
Yeah.
Francis
What the. Come on, man, wrap it up.
Frankie
That is an old transgression. But I mean, Kim, God bless her, we should have Kim on.
Big Cat
She would be awesome.
Sass
Yeah, I don't know what she would be. I don't think she's allowed to talk about anything.
Big Cat
Anything.
Sass
Yeah, yeah.
Frankie
She is very sweet though.
Sass
You think she goes home and talks?
Big Cat
Yeah, you got to unload that. I think that's like, that's spousal, like privilege.
Sass
Like you can't.
Big Cat
You like, if you're in the mafia, your wife can't like.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
You know, be on the stand against you, which I don't think is true. Yeah, but it's.
Frankie
How not. Kim just tells her guma. Everything. Kim just tells her side man. Everything. Yeah.
Big Cat
If Kim has a therapist, that's who we got to talk to.
Sass
Oh, right, right.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
Imagine being an HR person. And like, I mean, what is our HR department though? Is it just her?
Big Cat
Yeah, I think there's some. She has some people and then she
Frankie
talks to legal and, and she talks.
Sass
They gotta like get coffee together every
Frankie
day and just a bottle of wine.
Big Cat
It's literally world's hardest job. Hr barstool sports. Yeah, it's like, like Mike Ro. Like, so show me your day.
Frankie
Rolling up his sleeves to take calls about this and that. How's your guys book coming?
Big Cat
We're done. I was. When I was talking to France the other day, like, because I know he. The whole Dave ghostwriting thing kind of sucked for him, but we went through the exact same experience where we hired a ghostwriter, and the ghostwriter did a really good job of getting a bunch of interviews with, like, some of our longtime guests and people like, talking about their experience. But he. He wrote the whole book. And then I read maybe 10 pages. I was like, well, we have to rewrite all of it. So PFD had to rewrite all of it.
Frankie
What was his. What was your, like, telltale sentence that was like, this is not it.
Big Cat
It wasn't like. It wasn't that. He did. He did a fine job. It's just that we quickly realized, like, when you have someone like Dave, someone like pfd, someone like myself who has a distinct writing voice and podcasting voice for a decade plus, the minute someone reads it, they're like, oh, he didn't write it. Like you could do that if. If Kareem Abdul Jabbar has a book. We don't know. Kareem Abdul Jabbar has never written a. Guess that ass. You know what I mean?
Francis
Yeah.
Big Cat
So we don't know what that sounds like.
Frankie
Yeah, he didn't do an MMBM. Is PFT's part written in like, PFTs, like intentional misspelling? No, he cleaned it.
Big Cat
He cleaned it up. But we did tell. Which I think made them very uncomfortable. We told our editor that, like Zach. So Zach wrote a couple chapters, Hank wrote a couple chapters, Max memes, all the guys, and we're like, do not touch it. Do not edit it. Do not do anything.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Zach's like, he had a paragraph that, like, you. You couldn't even understand what he was trying to say. But that's how it should be. It should just be that.
Frankie
Is there annotations or anything?
Big Cat
No, I was like, just leave it exactly how it is.
Frankie
Garbage.
Sass
I can't wait to hear. To read that. Yeah.
Big Cat
The editor's like. Like, they have to be just pulling their hair out. Like, this is not how the book.
Francis
Yeah.
Frankie
It's like HR bar stools.
Big Cat
I was doing the audiobook reading and I still. I was like, catching things. Oh, yeah, there should be a word here.
Frankie
Did that take longer than you expected?
Big Cat
No. They actually yelled at me because I was. I was talking too fast. I was like, I'm. I'm like, I talking normally. And they're like, yeah, you're supposed to talk slower. I was like, well, kind of want to be done with this. Yeah.
Sass
Everyone's gonna put it in 1.5 anyway.
Big Cat
Yeah, right, Right.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
Sometimes they're like. You're like, this is so slow. Like, who's listening?
Big Cat
Yeah, dude.
Sass
It's 30 second pauses between sentences.
Big Cat
It's jar. I listen to this podcast on 1.8. I listen to anything on YouTube. I go like, 1.5 minimum because, like, I just can't.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Now it's completely rewired my brain.
Sass
I haven't gotten into that, but I feel like that is a very common thing where people, once they go to it, they never stop.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
I drove from. I drove from, like, Houston to Atlanta with. Or like Jackson, Mississippi to Atlanta with All Business Pete. And he was listening to podcasts on like, three. I've never done anything. I felt like I was in a time machine or like in Star wars when, like, all the stars go, like, zipping past you. It was insane.
Sass
Just rapidly processing information.
Big Cat
My. My mistake is I always change. I change the videos on Twitter to like 1.5 and then I'll like, click on a random highlight, like, holy. Way faster than I thought. Like, this is insane.
Sass
He's flying. 5 second 40.
Frankie
Yeah. Six spin moves.
Sass
Yeah.
Francis
Five second. Quite slow.
Sass
That's pretty slow.
Frankie
Yeah. What are you going to talk about with Guden if. If that is. That's your ball knowledge.
Sass
I can't be slipping up like that.
Big Cat
No, you can't.
Sass
Like an Aderall or something Walk away from. That's what I was whiteboard in here.
Frankie
I don't know what Gruden and Sass's common ground's going to be tomorrow.
Sass
I met him and.
Big Cat
Wait, what are you guys doing tomorrow?
Sass
We're just going to do it. We're going to have him on the pod.
Big Cat
Oh, yeah.
Sass
Yeah. Well, I met him at New Orleans, in New Orleans for the super bowl, but I don't think I spoke to him at all.
Frankie
So. What do you mean you met.
Sass
You, like, filmed a sketch with him, But I don't know if he knew I was there.
Big Cat
Oh, yeah, the Pink Pony. Yeah, that was a great sky.
Sass
I don't think I was there.
Big Cat
In his head, he can smell out a beta male.
Francis
Yeah, yeah.
Sass
He smelled me out from a mile
Francis
away last year because I was on the bubble. And then added late to The Internet Invitational. Somehow, miraculously, I ended up for my lodging in a shared house with as my roommates, Austin Dave and Jon Gruden. And there was this company, and you'll know the name that had sent you and John Gruden and Dave these boxes of autographed sports memorabilia. Oh, shit. And they hadn't opened them yet. Do you know the name of that company?
Big Cat
I don't, but I remember the box I got.
Francis
And I don't know if you guys know this, but. You don't know this, but as a kid, I lost sleep at night thinking of ways to get autographs from athletes.
Sass
Yeah. Yeah.
Francis
I would force.
Sass
We need.
Francis
We would get there to the Celtics games two hours early. I would. Knew the spot to stand. I would look sickly to try to, like, please LeBron. I didn't get pass for Make a Wish because it's not terminal, but, you know, like, whatever. And Carlos Boozer gave me his shoes off his own feet after a game once. Yeah. I had some cool stuff. And I remember I got Allen Iverson and Eric Snow in the Eastern Conference semifinals when the Celtics played the Sixers one year. Maybe it was the first round either way. So my point is, they're opening boxes in front of me.
Sass
Oh, yeah.
Francis
And it's like Tom Brady personalized, like, note on the letter.
Big Cat
Oh, no. I got a Walter Payton signed football. Yeah. I mean, he's passed away 25 years.
Francis
Gronk. Like, hel. Official Patriots helmet sign. And I'm just, like, drooling, and I think they might have left the stuff.
Big Cat
I took mine.
Francis
You took your.
Big Cat
I took mine because I remember. I got. It was like, a mix of, like, bears and badgers. And I got a T.J. watt signed helmet. Steelers. I held that over Jerry's head for a long time. Then I finally gave it to him.
Francis
No, they. They took it. But each day, as the tournament wore on, it was sitting out on the kitchen counter, and I was like. Like, I wonder if they've taken inventory of all the things.
Big Cat
Yeah, you could have. You could have taken,
Frankie
like, Gruden, like, knows the guys personally. Like, he probably has, like, signed letters.
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
This would have been a tough look if they noticed.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
Where did the signed Gronk helmet go?
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
Nearly bulging out of your backpack.
Big Cat
I'm.
Sass
See the mask through your backpack.
Big Cat
Have you seen. I'm getting in the collectibles game?
Frankie
Yeah.
Big Cat
Did you guys go pissing the Bills trough? No, I have a fully functional.
Sass
I heard about this. I didn't.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
Where is it?
Big Cat
Sick. It's in the back bathroom.
Sass
Oh, I gotta check.
Big Cat
Yeah, you gotta go pissing that. It is a little bit of a bad angle because if you're pissing in it and anyone walks in the bathroom, they just. It's just direction.
Frankie
It's. No, it's like a 360 degree view. Yeah, it's like Pepperdine. Yeah, it's like how pepperdine is 360 degrees of ocean. Like you can see the penis from anywhere in the bathroom.
Big Cat
Essentially the Brian Kelly video when he's on the rotating thing. Yeah, that's just how you're pissing.
Francis
I was gonna say two girls at a wedding. You know that camera all the way around.
Big Cat
Exactly. Yeah. Same exact one.
Frankie
Yeah. Good. It's good. Memorabilia.
Big Cat
It's good. I mean, it's the. That no one wants.
Sass
Yeah, that's a good find. Where did you. How did you find that?
Big Cat
That one was an auction. The other one's like the Florida State banner. I just. I just asked them and they were like, yeah, I guess we'll do it. Who would have thought they put up a banner saying they were number four when co happened. Yeah, it's sitting right in the middle.
Sass
I gotta. I gotta be more aware.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
Stuff.
Francis
Yeah.
Frankie
You went right up to the. You, right. For the video games. As soon as you got here, I
Sass
had to take a look, know, see
Francis
what it was like.
Big Cat
Are you guys. Can I ask a question about Bush? Are you guys ever going to just play? Like you should just play and you keep losing players just play well.
Sass
So we. I did play at the last tournament.
Big Cat
Yeah, you should be like. Like Bill Russell. Didn't he play and coach?
Frankie
Yeah, exactly.
Sass
It's really hard and it. And I thought it was going to be easier. Like, I thought. I thought the skill gap wasn't going to be like, you know, it's like. I don't know.
Frankie
He was like. If Tom Thibodeau like laced up for a game. He was like. If Jon Gruden like tried to like play offensive line against Miles Garrett or something like.
Francis
And we know the skill gap is crazy because I. Harry and I played video games and he and I were the same.
Big Cat
Oh, I forgot. He beat you, right?
Francis
Yeah. And I hadn't played video games in 15 years.
Big Cat
So what is. What's the. How do you get better? Is it get younger or more Asian?
Sass
I think it's like a combination of both. I think it's got to be young and Asian.
Frankie
Young, Asian and adderalled up.
Big Cat
Yeah. Isn't it like the.
Frankie
The.
Big Cat
The prime Is like, like a 22 year old in Call of Duty is like, that guy's washed.
Sass
It's like 22 is like if he hasn't, like if he' crying now, he's got to get like, it's, it's coming to a close.
Big Cat
It's crazy.
Sass
Like, they like the oldest player in the league right now, I think just turned 26. Jesus.
Frankie
Oh, so he's washed. So he's like Tom.
Sass
Or he's like Aaron Rodgers right now.
Frankie
Oh, he's still sick.
Francis
Yeah, yeah, but they're like gymnasts.
Sass
Yeah, exactly.
Francis
Figure skaters.
Sass
But the skill gap is big. I mean, I played. I played in. Where. Where were we last? Dallas or. No, Atlanta. When we were in Atlanta, I played like as a joke with like Nicky Numbers, like in the tournament. And we came in last place in the whole tournament, but, like, we came in last place. The dudes that we were playing knew, like, we suck. Obviously they weren't trying at all. I like, couldn't even see them on the screen.
Frankie
It was like they would go by
Sass
the screen and then you're just. You're dead. Immediately.
Big Cat
That's.
Frankie
You need to get neuralink is really what.
Sass
There's a guy. There's a guy. We talked about the Saudi League. There's a guy in the Saudi League that has neuralink.
Frankie
Really? Is he sick?
Sass
Yeah, he's one of the top players.
Frankie
You need to get neuralink and you need to start biohacking like that dude Brian Johnson, because he's aging in reverse.
Big Cat
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Frankie
And his wife has a perfect out
Sass
of perfect sex every night.
Francis
I did not know he was straight.
Sass
Oh.
Francis
And I'm not even saying that.
Big Cat
What was getting you off? The fact that he was tracking his son's boners.
Sass
I mean, he posts like statistics from
Big Cat
his sex every morning, but the minute he went to that Enhanced Games and he had that sun umbrella, I was like, all right, I'm out. I don't think I saw that. Yeah, he was. Yeah, he was on set and he had a sun umbrella and he's like, son, like, I never am in the sun. What's the point of living if you can't get a 10?
Frankie
All of his life is ruined.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
The only thing he. Because he. He doesn't drink. He doesn't like, touch the sun, he doesn't eat anything interesting. He is like, basically lives in an incubator for all of his days. Yeah.
Sass
His turf Meltdown.
Big Cat

Sass
Oh, you missed out on a big one. He. He found out that, well, he works out in his front lawn that's made fully of turf.
Big Cat
Okay.
Sass
And he found out recently that the part of something in turf has, like, carcinogens in it.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
That's like, yeah, Bubbles.
Sass
He down on Twitter. And he was in a boat. He was like, I can't believe I didn't know this. Like, I've been trying so hard to be healthy, and I've been surrounding myself by carcinogens for years now. Like, it's full breakdown.
Big Cat
Is it bad to say, like, I hope he gets hit by a bus?
Sass
It's not good, but I get where you're coming.
Big Cat
I didn't say it. I said, is it bad?
Frankie
You're testing the water.
Big Cat
I didn't say they're dipping.
Francis
It's not bad. If it's a biodiesel bus.
Frankie
If it's.
Francis
Yeah.
Frankie
If it's fracking produced or. No, fracking would be bad, but just some natural gas powering the bus or something would be good.
Big Cat
And I'm not saying, like, like killed right away. I want him to have, like, a moment where he's like, damn, I really should have gotten a tan.
Frankie
But I think that, that the point is that it's the shaden Freud of, like, being like, yes, this guy has been wasting his life by trying to not live his life.
Francis
Correct.
Frankie
He's intentionally not living his life, and there should be some kind of comeuppance, and he probably will get outlived by, like, a smoking construction worker.
Big Cat
Oh, listen, you just get like a, a, a 410italian lady.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Who drinks wine and every single day. And, like, what's the key to life? I got a garden with tomatoes.
Sass
That's It, Dude, I know. Smokes like six packs a day.
Francis
Yeah, I've been working out and. Well, no, I mean, I. I was going to say I've been drinking hard and smoking weed and doing all these things in the event that, like, there is a very healthy person inside of me trying to keep me alive to 110. I'm trying to ward off.
Sass
Oh, you're trying to do reverse it.
Francis
You know, I don't want to.
Frankie
You're doing reverse. Reverse aging.
Francis
I. I need to be. I'm worried that I am. I am what Brian Johnson wants himself to be fighting for and that I'm trying to, like, counteract the boredom of that.
Big Cat
Yeah. 110 is, like. You would see literally everyone you know die.
Frankie
Yeah.
Francis
Yeah.
Big Cat
Every single person.
Frankie
You know, you'd see kids that are. You'd see babies that are being born right now die.
Big Cat
Yeah, it's crazy.
Francis
Dude, if someone today. If it was on our pod who was 110 years old, they'd be talking about, like, yeah, when my dad shipped off for World War I, you know, we had no idea how long the conflict would be. And I was doing so well. All my stock was in Standard Oil. And then Black Friday. I'll never forget the bodies falling off at Wall Street.
Sass
Yeah.
Francis
Like, dude, are you just reciting Wikipedia?
Big Cat
It'd be like, my grandson just passed at 70.
Sass
I mean, but if. If the average age were to go up, what, like 130, like, don't you think that would be, like, a big problem?
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
You think it'd be a problem? Overpopulation.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
I also think Social Security is going to be out in, like, 10 years.
Big Cat
Right.
Frankie
Like, there's, like, no money left over for us to get old.
Big Cat
Just the boomers holding on for even more.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Owning more things.
Sass
Yeah. It's pretty crazy. I mean, if we were. If, say, humans were to start living on average to 130, do you think they would, like, change the way that things work? Like, do you think you would still go to school so young?
Frankie
Wrong. Retirement age would be like 100.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
Yeah. That's probably the only thing that would change.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
You just have to work. You just have to work way more.
Big Cat
Yeah, that would suck. If you retired at, like, 65 and you live to 110 years.
Sass
This is what life. I didn't work.
Francis
This is what I think is plaguing. This is one of the big existential threats for a lot of countries where the birth rate is declining.
Frankie
South Korea.
Big Cat
Yeah, South Korea.
Francis
That it's resulting in a Top heavy elder class. That is not supported by a youth. Full working class. And you're just gonna have like all these old horses out to pasture roaming around. Like, why isn't anyone helping me?
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
Across the street.
Big Cat
Yeah, yeah.
Frankie
You got to help each other. You got to get on a buddy system. Yeah, get, get like a chain. You ever see the chains of like little kids holding on to the leashes? Everybody's.
Francis
I always crop dust those kids, dude,
Big Cat
I gotta say, you know that they're
Francis
gonna blame each other.
Big Cat
Like when you see a parent with a leash on their kid.
Sass
Oh yeah.
Big Cat
You're like, that's crazy. And then when you have. You're like, that makes sense.
Sass
You know, Nick was a leash kid.
Big Cat
He was.
Sass
Oh yeah, dude.
Big Cat
My kids like, I. As. There's sometimes my kids will just like try to run into traffic and I'm just like, I'm just sprinting after them. It's like, damn, I wish I had a leash. Right?
Sass
Yeah, I mean I, I think get one. You know, every parent should have one of those like shock collars.
Frankie
That too.
Sass
But I was gonna say one of those leashes that like retracts.
Big Cat
Yeah, you can just grab for the little dogs.
Sass
Yeah, get the button.
Frankie
My kids might wind up on a leash, bro. You never know.
Sass
You really don't.
Big Cat
So I was, I was saying before. So your, your, your diss track to the three year old was so good.
Frankie
Yeah, three year old pushed my one year old and I got furious and wrote a diss track because my nanny almost fought. Fought that their nanny.
Big Cat
So in Ron and I had. So Ron's nanny was my kid's nanny when we lived in Brooklyn. The best. The absolute best. But she used to get into like beefs at the park because like she is so like territorial for the kids. It's awesome.
Frankie
That's what you want?
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
You want them to be you, you want a nanny to be super territorial.
Big Cat
I'd be like, well, like, why aren't you going to that park? She's like, we don't go to that park anymore.
Frankie
It's the dirty part.
Big Cat
Like we got, we, we like. I, I saw nanny. We got a little beef. Like we don't do that. Yeah, she runs it, dude. She runs Brooklyn real. Yeah, dude, she, she, she keeps it to like.
Sass
She have like a ton of clients.
Big Cat
No, no, she.
Frankie
Yeah, but she has a, but her, her network of other nannies so she could link up a play date like anywhere. She has people in every building. She has people all over the place. We'll Meet up at this plaza.
Sass
This.
Big Cat
And she's been in Dumbo now because my kid, my firstborn was 2019, so she's been in. Working in Dumbo. She worked with my family all the way up till we moved back to Chicago, and then Ron not far after that, so.
Frankie
And there was someone else in media,
Sass
I think, one at a time.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
So, like, you passed her down to Roan.
Big Cat
Yeah, she was. She was my family's nanny.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Oh, yeah.
Sass
Yeah.
Francis
How. How long will you have her for?
Frankie
Probably till they're like, forever. 25.
Big Cat
Yeah, I was going to say. I was going to say maybe.
Francis
Maybe I'll have kids by then. So I'll take. Yeah, no, probably not. Knowing the way things are going in
Big Cat
my life, if we didn't move, we'd still have her.
Francis
So.
Big Cat
Yeah, she's the best, but she's. I saw that diss track, and I
Frankie
was just like, this is because you know her.
Francis
Yeah.
Frankie
You know what she's, like, around.
Big Cat
She'll play.
Frankie
People think that I was joking about it, and she doesn't. She said that the other nanny called her, like, later on to, like, apologize, to, like, bend the knee. Yeah. It's almost like the scene early on in the Departed where it's like, you know who you were messing with? Yeah. It's like this.
Francis
Is she also with a nanny you can't quite hit?
Frankie
Yeah.
Big Cat
I didn't. I never told her, like, explicitly, like, hey, you know, just because, like, I. I keep my kids private. I never told her, like, explicitly, like, hey, I'm public, you know, she knew what I did for a living. But so she. When she kind of figured it out, I caught her. Someone asked, like, what. They were in my house, and I was in the other room, and someone was like, oh, what does. What does Dan do for a living? And she's just like, I don't know. She doesn't say anything or something.
Sass
She doesn't. So awesome.
Frankie
Dude, he's in sanitation.
Sass
That's hilarious.
Frankie
Don't worry about it. Family.
Big Cat
But, like, that's ride or die. I was so happy. I was just like, I never asked for that.
Frankie
That.
Big Cat
But it's awesome to have someone who's like, got your back.
Frankie
And she carried the same thing on for me. I'm like, I'm not Big cats level.
Big Cat
We don't talk about it.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
She's like, why sports entertainment?
Big Cat
Ask one more question, you're gonna be in trouble.
Frankie
Yeah, she really does. She's, like, cracking her knuckles.
Sass
What do you say when people ask you what you do for work, like in like a cab or something?
Big Cat
I say podcast usually. Yeah.
Sass
I say. I say I'm in sports media.
Big Cat
That. That works.
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
I work for a sports media company.
Big Cat
Podcast is funny because you can. I like saying podcast because it's like a fun reaction where I think people like when I say podcast and they don't have any idea. The biggest loser. Like I'm the biggest loser possible. Oh, and I love that. Yeah. I just.
Frankie
Sorry to hear that. Yeah.
Francis
Yeah.
Big Cat
Right.
Sass
Oh, like the radio.
Big Cat
Things are going that bad, huh?
Frankie
Just in your basement, like with a ham radio trying to broadcast out.
Sass
Especially now that, like, everyone's got a podcast best.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
Like they probably just assume it's like the bottom of the barrel.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
So funny you say comedian.
Francis
Well, it really depends on who's asking. If it's someone that I don't want to have any follow up questions. I just say writer, and then if it's someone I'm trying to sleep with, once I say comedian, but it's not going that well. And then if it's someone I'm like keen on. On boy or girl having friendship.
Frankie
An intern sleeping with.
Francis
Yeah. Well, you know, then it would be like work for an Internet media company called Barstool Sports.
Big Cat
That works. Have you now, have you ever met someone who didn't really know what Barcelona. A famous person who didn't know what Barstool Sports was and uttered the phrase we'd love to have you on our podcast because that is the biggest loser phrase you could ever say in your entire life. I've never felt worse. I've saying that to someone.
Sass
Me and.
Frankie
Me and Sass did that to Casey Fry one time at the stand. At the stand. We both saw Casey Fry. We both like spaz. Cuz we're both fans. We're like, dude, come on our podcast, dude.
Sass
Never heard.
Big Cat
I said it to Beck. I said it to Beck Bennett once on a train.
Frankie
Really?
Big Cat
And I felt like such a loser.
Frankie
But you should have shown him the numbies.
Sass
That's especially.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
But still someone who's in like traditional media.
Big Cat
Yeah. Who has no idea what this is.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Oh, that was br.
Frankie
But now he does a podcast.
Big Cat
Podcast.
Frankie
Have you, you have you ever, like, circled back on that?
Big Cat
Because no. And I actually. We have a mutual friend. So like, I did the mutual friend thing on the train and then I was like, we'd love to have you on the podcast. And I walked off. I was like. And it was a train to Brooklyn. Like, I was just a walking trope. Of just. Douchebag.
Sass
Do you know what?
Francis
I just occurred to me because I just started. Did you guys watch Jury Duty?
Sass
No.
Big Cat
Yes.
Sass
That I've heard.
Francis
Yeah. So the new season's out.
Frankie
Yeah.
Francis
And it's a company retreat. And initially I started watching and I was like, ah, this isn't anywhere near as good. And then by the second episode, I was laughing so hard I couldn't even breathe.
Frankie
Really? Yeah.
Francis
I don't know yet, but there were moments that really killed me.
Frankie
Laugh that hard, it's got to be pretty good.
Francis
I know. I just don't know if the characters are as compelling yet.
Sass
I haven't seen the. What is the premise of the show?
Francis
It's the Truman show, basically, where they hire all these actors and it's all on a set and it's framed as a documentary about American Judicial System. And then there's one guy who is not an actor and has no idea idea that everyone else is fake and he's real.
Big Cat
It's like the Joe Millionaire. Remember that when they did the fake game show?
Frankie
Everybody's an actor but one person.
Big Cat
Yeah, yeah.
Sass
It sounds like that. Nathan Fielder show.
Big Cat
Nathan, for you.
Sass
The other one, the new one.
Big Cat
Oh, the rehearsal. Rehearsal, yeah.
Sass
Kind of.
Big Cat
Yeah, but kind of not really.
Frankie
Joe Millionaire.
Sass
An inverted rehearsal.
Big Cat
I don't think that one. That's completely stopped the conversation.
Francis
Really? You confused that? I'm good for one of those. It was confusing and it didn't fit.
Big Cat
Oh, listen, I.
Sass
Listen, I know it doesn't work.
Francis
It's like we had finished a puzzle and there was one piece left and you had it. You're like, I got it. And it was just like. It didn't. It was just like, from a different puzzle.
Big Cat
So it's like. It's like. It's like the Wire. Is it like The Wire on HBO?
Frankie
It's easier when you listen on 1.8 because we get past the moment.
Big Cat
All right, But I gotta check that out. I love the premise of it.
Frankie
Yeah.
Big Cat
I would love to do that with someone here.
Francis
I know. I was thinking about, is there a world where we could recreate some version?
Frankie
There' one guy. You do it One guy.
Big Cat
Easily.
Sass
Yeah, definitely.
Big Cat
We could tell him to his face, like, oh, I'm in. Oh, no. I gotta watch for a panic show.
Frankie
Honestly, if you got panic, you should get panic in it.
Sass
That would be sick.
Frankie
Watch Red Panic. Yeah. Okay, guys, let's talk about Mountain Dew. Summer is coming, and I cannot wait to fully indulge over this holiday weekend. 250 years in America. And since 1948, Mountain Dew has been doing it. I absolutely love Mountain Dew. But even if you're out to the game, grilling out, even celebrating in different countries, nothing goes better with all of that than hanging with your friends with a refreshing citrus kick of Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew proudly born in the foothills of Tennessee Roan.
Francis
You said you couldn't wait.
Frankie
I won't.
Francis
Then I literally couldn't wait.
Frankie
You didn't wait.
Francis
I didn't wait. I cracked it. And I took a gigantic gulp of my refreshing, delicious, crisp Mountain Dew.
Frankie
It's nostalgic, but somehow futuristic. It has you wrapped in a moment of time where you're both anticipating the future, enjoying the basking glow of the past, and being rooted exactly where you are. And that's at the foot. Foot of the foothills of those beautiful mountains. On a can of Mountain Dew. Enjoy the refreshing citrus kick of Mountain Dew and American Original. Grab a Dew. Tasting great since 48. Right. Sass.
Sass
Right.
Francis
But the, the guy, there's a guy, an actor in this show who was the third member of Good Neighbor stuff.
Big Cat
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Francis
The dark haired guy with the curly hair.
Big Cat
And I was like, didn't get famous.
Francis
Yeah. And I was like, man, what an indictment on his career.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
That he's not recognizable enough that they felt comfortable putting him in a show where the entire thing is that you're an actor but nobody knows who you are.
Big Cat
But I think that the, the screening process has to be so extensive for that one person. Without a doubt, that one person has the best life ever because they basically just have no idea what is going on in the world.
Sass
That mean. Yeah, that means that they're showing up to work every day, just checks the out.
Big Cat
They don't. But they don't have Twitter, they don't have Instagram. They're not watching any of the streaming platforms. They're like, you know, they're putting on maybe the news, watching the ball game, keeping on for the weather.
Sass
It's local news.
Big Cat
Yeah. Like, that guy rocks.
Francis
Yeah.
Big Cat
Those people give me faith in humanity, honestly.
Sass
Or.
Frankie
And jealousy too. Just like, oh, imagine not caring about and like having no offense, but no ambition to, to that level.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
But think about this though. Like, don't you think it's still a risk that that guy. There's no way they asked him in his screening process. Like, have you ever seen the sketch comedy show from like 15 years ago? Good Neighbor stuff?
Sass
Yeah.
Francis
Right. So there's a chance that that one moment.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
Could undo.
Sass
Maybe that was. And that's when the normal guy, he gets. When he gave up the Internet was when good neighbor stuff retired.
Frankie
That's my favorite show.
Big Cat
I wonder. I wonder how extensive the sc. I imagine they're screening. Like they're talking to the person's like friends and family too.
Francis
I wonder.
Big Cat
It's like CIA. CIA level.
Sass
Yeah. Cuz like the. The possibility of it going wrong would set them back, like so much money. Just start over halfway through the show and the guy's like, I actually know all of you guys. I've seen all of your work.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
Whoa.
Big Cat
But there are a lot of people out there who just live their life.
Frankie
Yeah.
Big Cat
And it's. I love them.
Frankie
Yeah. I want it so bad. Bad. Some. Some days I wish there was like just a. Like I could take a month of just doing nothing to completely reset, but it's impossible. Even if I have like three days off, I'm like, okay, I need to start a new show or some like that.
Big Cat
Yeah. But I. The. The best is like, I'll every now and then come across someone and they'll be like, oh, you're Big Cat. And they won't say, like, part of my take. Partial sports. I do a radio hit on Chicago radio and they're like, oh, I love you on the radio. That's the only thing they hear me from.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
That's crazy. That person rocks.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
They literally just get car. They turn on the radio. It's like 1975. Every day they go to work, they
Sass
get out of the weather for today.
Big Cat
They put the radio back on. If they miss my 30 minute hit weekly, they just missed it. They don't have any way of getting it.
Frankie
Yeah, I missed it. Well, there's always next week. Yeah, I'll come back next week.
Sass
Nine hours a week of Big Cat. On part of my take.
Frankie
When you talk about, like describing what barstool is, I remember the, the bachelor party. The. The famous bachelor party I went on with John Mayer Jensen's bachelor party and Ben, like so, like. Yeah. Like, explain to him what like barstool is. And John Mayer's like, I think I know what it is. It's like run by some guy named Trent or something like that. Because Trent's like a big John. Mayor would like tweet at him all the time.
Sass
Trent runs the whole place.
Frankie
Yeah. And I think that was his perception. And since then you guys have all. You both have become great friends with him.
Francis
With Trent.
Frankie
Yeah.
Francis
I do love you.
Big Cat
Met.
Francis
Yeah. We had a very funny DM exchange change where he messaged me okay. Just out of the blue, that's what
Big Cat
he did with me. Yeah.
Francis
Yeah. Well, that makes sense.
Big Cat
Well, I mean, yeah, I guess. But I was still like, hey, can
Francis
I come on your podcast?
Big Cat
No, no, no. He was. I was at the Sphere for a show.
Francis
Oh yeah.
Big Cat
And I was like, I. I like tweeted a pic or did an Instagram story of the show and he was like, hey, if you're here, come. Come by Saturday night and like, come hang out in the green room.
Francis
That's cool.
Big Cat
Didn't know it was just me and him.
Frankie
Ate.
Big Cat
Ate my mush. I thought I timed my mushrooms correctly, but the last five minutes of me and John Mayer. I don't know why that is crazy. Cuz I like, I was like, all right. He told me to come by.
Sass
I think he was like, your tie dye.
Big Cat
And dude, it was like. It was like. It shows it like 7:30.
Frankie
He's like, like sunglasses, he's got a black shirt.
Big Cat
He's like, come by at 6. And I was like, all right, great. So I ate all my mushrooms at like, I don't know, like 5 thir. Or yeah, 5:30. And then he was delayed a little bit so that I didn't go into his green room till like 6:15. And then by like the end of the 20 minutes, I was like, I gotta get the out of here. I'm enjoying this, but I gotta get the out of here bad.
Sass
Getting back there and it being just you guys is insane.
Big Cat
He's a man.
Frankie
Yeah, just like a big room. It's probably like the. The hockey team's locker room. It's like a huge roomy dude.
Big Cat
He's the nicest guy ever. And obviously one of the best guitarists in the world.
Frankie
He reached out to you about you like stealing food from the Delta Lounge or something like that? Or was that a different conversation?
Francis
That was exactly. It was that I posted just an Instagram story. Should have posted it as a full post.
Frankie
You run it back.
Sass
I did.
Big Cat
About that.
Francis
I was going in the Delta Lounge and I was. I was showing how you can take food out because they don't let you take food out by putting it in the to go coffee cup cups because you're allowed to take to go coffee out. And I was just filling up chicken salad and then you put a top on it. And I had like three coffees for the flight and I walked out with a full meal. And then on the plane, I'm eating from one cop, like chicken salad, then like orzo.
Frankie
And then honestly, if you did that video again, it would go crazy.
Francis
Yeah, yeah.
Frankie
In the new style, the dude perfect will do it.
Francis
Yeah, yeah, true. But John Mayer reached out and he wrote something like, this is giving genius. And. And I wrote back, like, you know, we gotta fight back somehow. And he was like, I'm gonna play along because I fly private. But, yeah, the big airlines, they're really. And then I was like, must be nice or something. And I said I was really trying. I was really editing what I was.
Big Cat
Oh, yeah.
Francis
Trying really hard. It might even be worth.
Big Cat
I got. I got in my own head when I started DMing with him big time. I was John, man.
Frankie
Yeah. Yeah. You have to. Yeah. Plan it out beforehand.
Big Cat
It's crazy, Francis, that, like, knowing you as well as I know you and, like, how you second guess these things, like, how the. Did you win the Internet Invitational? Like. Like, that is the mental game, the mental fortitude to win a golf tournament like that is.
Frankie
You can't second guess a golf shot. You have one crack at it. There's no. No tapping a golf shot.
Big Cat
Like, you're a really good golfer.
Sass
How.
Frankie
That does make it way funnier.
Francis
Yeah, I'll get to that. I want to read you this. It's quick. He wrote, the food in the Starbucks cups idea is incredible. A brilliant engineering move. And I wrote, john, next time we're at the buffet in the Delta Sky Club, I'll cover for you. He wrote, can't wait. I do worry you may have blown the lid. Parentheses pun off this. And then I wrote, and I don't think he was expecting it to get this far. I wrote, delta jacked their status thresholds to nearly unreachable markers. The genie's been out of the bot. I can't be the only moron trying to earn back my annual credit card fee with rice pilaf. And he goes, I'm going to try and carry on with this conversation as best I can, seeing as I fly private. I don't know how much a gallon of milk costs. I'm a real piece of shit. And how about those lines at the gate? And I said, about time you come clean. You talented, entirely deserving motherfucker. Enjoy those sashimi platters and cold pressed juice. Juices. Talk soon, man. Like, I wanted out of the conversation.
Big Cat
That's good. That's good.
Francis
And then he wrote, fast friends. And he followed me.
Big Cat
Love that.
Francis
And then he messaged me again. He showed me. He sent me someone else's post of a guitar case that had, like, their. Like their luggage, like, their clothes. Or something. Yeah. Like someone had packed a guitar case to pack and then put luggage in it. So he was, like, really trying to be friends.
Big Cat
Yeah, you gotta.
Sass
And then what happened?
Big Cat
Become friends.
Francis
And then I once wrote, roan said, you're coming in Wednesday. This may be unfounded. And then I wrote, never mind. He was just kidding.
Sass
And that's the dagger. That's. That's the end right there.
Big Cat
Oh, no, no.
Francis
He actually wrote back to me because I messaged him about watches.
Big Cat
That's brutal.
Francis
I said, I think I need a paddock unless you tell me I don't.
Sass
That's crazy. Even if I told you it's a crazy dm.
Francis
And he goes, well, he's a watch guy. Like, big watch guy. Well, now you're gonna walk it back.
Sass
No, I'm not walking it back at all.
Big Cat
Well, you will.
Francis
When you read what he wrote back to me, he goes, even if I told you, you didn't, it wouldn't take away the compulsion. The sickness is in you now. And I didn't respond.
Sass
Wow.
Frankie
So. And. And did you get the Patek Philippe?
Francis
No, I don't have the money for that.
Frankie
He doesn't know that, though.
Francis
Gotta win another Internet invitational.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
Yam.
Francis
So the question is, how did I win that? Good question, big cat. No, it's just crazy.
Big Cat
Like, you were. You're the mental fortitude it takes when you do second guess everything else in your life.
Francis
I know I do.
Frankie
Yeah.
Francis
But I would say that, like, I was the. The. You know, of the people in there that were like, Frankie, me and. And Beef were the most affect. Affected because the other three are, like, yeah. Really good, competitive golfers.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
And I got lucky to have made the least damning mistakes at the most critical junctures. It's not because I outplayed anyone.
Big Cat
Yeah. But that's not. Making a mistake is a big deal. Right.
Frankie
Like, Frankie lost because he made a mistake. No offense to Frankie.
Francis
Fine. But, like, if you look at some of the shots that I hit, when it was really at the end, I just got. I got lucky that they didn't end up in worse spots.
Big Cat
That's. That's part of the game.
Francis
Yeah, fine. But, like, it's not as if I was playing for the misses that I hit.
Big Cat
Just take the compliment.
Francis
I will, and I appreciate it. I will, and I appreciate it. I also was drinking a little bit.
Big Cat
That's smart.
Francis
Not too much.
Big Cat
Yeah, but just that level of, like, calm your nerves to beta block a little bit. Yep.
Sass
I.
Francis
And I remember I yelled to wit on, like, 13, because we were passing the place where you like the bar kind of halfway house. And I was like, whit, I need. Can you get me a double John Daly, which is Arnold Palmer with vodka in it? He's like, yeah, I got you, bud. But he had bet on the other team against Dave, and I think he made it a quad. Oh. And it was the.
Big Cat
Should have done the reverse. He should have made nothing in it. Yeah, that would have been smart.
Francis
But I was like, put, like, an Adderall in it. He's trying to get me too drunk to be able to putt and stuff. Quad.
Sass
I didn't even know they made that.
Frankie
Yeah. I've never heard of a quad.
Sass
Crazy.
Francis
It's just vodka with a splash of lemonade and iced tea at the top.
Sass
That's like. You ever see people make, like, the mimosas where they have, like, the spray thing for the. For the orange?
Big Cat
When did you. Did you do a video of your invitation?
Sass
No, I haven't gotten mine yet. I just got lost.
Frankie
It's on its way.
Big Cat
It would be awesome if you were.
Francis
Yeah, I agree.
Sass
I don't know. I don't know.
Francis
He hasn't put his flag out there enough about golf.
Big Cat
Well, we Sass and I teamed up on the Ryder Cup. Maybe the worst duo.
Sass
Yeah, that's the thing is, like, I can swing the club well, and I'm like. Can make contact. But if you get me out there by myself, like, you've only played. You've only seen me play when we play together, and you're like, hit a six iron here, pitching wedge here. Me and him together.
Big Cat
Oh, my God. It was so, so funny.
Sass
You can't keep the ball on the fair.
Big Cat
We were. We were literally, like, pumping each other up. If we just got the ball going forward.
Sass
Yeah. That became our.
Big Cat
Like, you be, like, close to. Like, I'd hit 10 yards. You'd be like, did some not go forward before that? Closer to the hole? This is awesome.
Frankie
Or something going backwards. Like.
Big Cat
Yeah, there were a couple. I mean, that tee shot.
Francis
Yeah, dude, that T shot. I will go back and watch the one where you hit the slow swing.
Big Cat
Oh.
Francis
Because it was so bad.
Big Cat
Bad.
Francis
That's the hardest I've ever seen Dave laugh.
Big Cat
Yeah, I'm. I'm trying. I'm gonna try to get better because I.
Frankie
But what's your golf rules?
Big Cat
Nine holes. Okay, so I'm only playing nine holes. This, like, I. Because that's the problem with golf. It's, like, five hours. It's so much Time.
Sass
Especially if you don't play well on the first half, you know the second half is going to go worse.
Big Cat
Right, Right. Nine holes. Has to be walking and has to be within.
Frankie
Why has to be walking.
Big Cat
Has to be walking. I.
Sass
15 minutes of your house.
Big Cat
Yeah. What?
Francis
It's close.
Big Cat
Yeah. No, there's just one public course I play. Oh, okay. It's actually a beautiful public course in Chicago. It's right on the water.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
But. Yeah, it's just that.
Frankie
So who's laughing now, Sass?
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
Yeah.
Francis
We don't got one guy wants to get home to his family and you're just like, you know.
Big Cat
No, I. I found. I. I dropped my kids off at school and now they're out of school, but I dropped my kids off at school. Tee off at 8 in the office by 10:15. Oh, that's perfect amount of golf.
Sass
Yeah, that's great.
Big Cat
And nine holes. You finish nine holes, you're like, I could. I wish I was playing more golf.
Frankie
You leave wanting more.
Big Cat
I'm like, this is the worst experience of my life.
Sass
Yeah. Done so.
Big Cat
Yeah. And walking because I like, I don't know, get some steps in.
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
It is good to walk. I agree with that. I just didn't. Yeah.
Francis
So just for reference, I played 45 holes on Saturday and 36 on Sunday.
Big Cat
Jesus Christ.
Frankie
What?
Big Cat
Why? That's so.
Francis
Because I love it.
Frankie
You played 81 holes.
Francis
I'm absolutely obsessed. I love golf. My favorite thing in the world.
Frankie
So he played nine times as much as you would in an ideal day over two days.
Big Cat
Yeah. Listen.
Francis
Last summer, my buddy and I tried to play a hundred holes in a day. And the only reason we. We couldn't. We played 90 holes in one day was because of lightning.
Frankie
Too many quads.
Francis
Yeah.
Big Cat
I mean, how many?
Francis
We were stopped for lightning a number of times.
Big Cat
Yeah. I. I can't. It's just the. The time suck of like being like, all right, I'm leaving the house. I'll be. See in six hours.
Francis
Yeah.
Big Cat
Can't do it.
Sass
Come back.
Francis
You would do. If. If you want more golf, all you need to do is get divorced.
Big Cat
Yeah. Say, give my kids away and present
Francis
horribly in the child. You know, who gets the kids.
Sass
Yeah. You'll be in tip top shape by the invitational.
Big Cat
I did get my kids into golf lessons because I was like, that's the one thing. Thing. Like, I wish Sass, when he swings, even though he doesn't play like, you're like that. He knew he learned how to golf when he was a kid.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
I Did like, you can tell someone who knew, who learned at a young age, and they have the ability to, like, it's like riding a bike. And not that they'll be, like, as good as they were, but they just know the things to do. I don't know anything.
Frankie
Like, it's a natural motion.
Big Cat
Yeah. So I want my kids to have that.
Sass
I don't know when I got, like, a good swing, because when I was in high school, my coach told me. He was like, your swing is terrible. Like, he literally told me that.
Big Cat
The coach? Yeah, to make it better.
Sass
Oh, no, not in this golf coach. Like, the golf coach in high school, their only job is to just drive you to the matches. We don't have a bus. They have a van. So the coach has to drive the van. That's the only reason he's. He's not giving you any advice.
Francis
Ironically, my. My freshman year high school lacrosse coach, his job when he wasn't coaching was bus driver.
Frankie
Yeah.
Francis
And so sometimes he would drive our bus when we didn't have a bus driver. And he knew where everything was. Oh, I'm sure, like, the switches. He was, you know, smooth.
Sass
That's great.
Francis
Yeah.
Frankie
Fucking dream.
Big Cat
What? I don't know when this is coming out, but what was New York City like for the next run? Feel felt like it must have been just everyone was on cloud nine.
Frankie
It was pretty sick.
Sass
Yeah. Were you guys there? Were you guys in the city?
Frankie
No, I was there when they won it, but also, like, I was at home.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
I was, like, about to go outside and bang pots and.
Big Cat
But even still, like, day to day. It must have been just awesome.
Frankie
Day to day was pretty sick. I was talking to Tommy and Glenny about it. They're both, like, Fringish Nick fans. And I was like, what's your guys perspective about people from, like, Ohio or Minnesota that moved to New York and are huge Knicks fans? And Tommy was like, yeah, I think it's awesome. It makes the parties more fun. And Glenny's like, I hate it. He basically was like, I. I don't want anybody else having fun. Like, everybody else who's, like, jumping on this bandwagon and is, like, undeserved. It means more to me. And these guys are just riding my coat.
Big Cat
Every championship team ever has a bandwagon. Yeah. It's so funny that we do this every time a team wins. It's like, yeah, when a team wins and there's parties every night, people are gonna be like, hey, that party's fun.
Frankie
Yeah, I want to Go to a part. What's the alternative? If you like to party, you're going to want to go to the party. You're not gonna be like, well, I didn't want to root for this team, so I'm not gonna go outside.
Sass
I'm actually a Trailblazers fan.
Big Cat
Did you guys see. Did you guys see Elmo on a.
Sass
On a.
Big Cat
They put Elm.
Sass
No, I don't think so.
Big Cat
On a stick. On a spear. What is it. What is it called? What is it? A steak? Yeah, they put Elmo's head on a steak. That.
Frankie
I love it. Why Elmo?
Big Cat
Because Elmo said before the series, like, hope both teams have fun. Everyone's like, you, Elmo, you're a real New Yorker. Like, what the. You turn your back on us? They put it on a city. It just said traitor. And it was a Elmo's head on a stick.
Frankie
My favorite video from the last game was this spurs fan who fought everybody.
Francis
Everybody.
Sass
Yeah, I don't think I saw that.
Frankie
What is. It was like this jacked up Debo dude who was like. It looked like when there's like a shark and then a school of fish and any direction he goes, the whole school like gives him like a birth of like 10ft and like he's moving a crowd and like people are sucker punching him, trying to like trip New York. It was in New York. It looked like people were saying he was at the game. It looked like Penn Station.
Francis
It looked like it was in. In the Garden. But the sort of the concourse area. I saw that. I loved it. I have a question. Is the idea of rooting for the team if you've transplanted into that city. So I remember I have friends from college that moved to Seattle to work for Amazon, I think from the Midwest or something like that. And after a few years, naturally they became Seahawks fans. Do you think there is more legitimacy based on the geographic marooning? If you move to Seahawks Seattle, you're going to root for the Seahawks?
Big Cat
Yeah. I mean, if you're there for the rest of your life too. You know what I mean?
Francis
Or like you're there for a little bit. Like there's no to go. To continue to root for the Knicks. If you're. Or like makes it harder. You're so far away you're not going to go to any games. I don't know. I thought that that seemed natural. And somehow if you're from Ohio, you move to New York City, you become a Knicks fan.
Big Cat
I think people are more mad about the celebrity Nick fans Because that's like, that pisses people off.
Sass
People get really mad about really Taylor Swift.
Frankie
People are furious at Haley Bieber, front row.
Sass
It's like, who else is going to buy the ticket? It's a million dollars to sit there.
Big Cat
Yeah. It's like the coolest experience you could. Like if you have billions of dollars, there's only so many cool experiences you can do.
Sass
Also, like, that's who should be sitting courtside. No one wants to see some Joe Schmo's coming down. Sitting courtside at the NBA, there always
Big Cat
is some Joe Schmo who's like super rich. And everyone's like, that guy.
Frankie
Did you see that?
Big Cat
More money than everyone else.
Frankie
The person sitting next to Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner looks like a Blutman brother. He just. No way. I don't think he's like a rich son of somebody and he just has like long hair, wearing like a sweatsuit. It makes it. It's actually hilarious.
Sass
But yeah, I mean, I think it's just like, that's the Knicks.
Big Cat
It just looked awesome. Like, I. Because obviously living in New York.
Frankie
It's awesome. It is awesome. Anybody should be invited to the party. It's a party.
Big Cat
Like the city buzz. Yeah.
Sass
Like, not only should you be able to like, in the. The fandom, like, you should be able to be a fan. I think you should also be able to, like, inherit all of the suffering they went through and refer to it as like, we went through.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
That's my big thing.
Big Cat
53 was 50. 53 years.
Sass
Yeah. I've been saying everyone. Everyone in New York. I can't believe how long we waited for this.
Frankie
It's like being an old man. Being like, we needed the rain.
Francis
Harry's lived in New York for four years.
Sass
53 years.
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
I mean. I mean, I'm out in Queens now, so it's a lot of. Wait, you moved? Oh, yeah. A of lot of culture.
Big Cat
So. Wait, I missed that.
Sass
Yeah.
Frankie
He moved to Queens.
Sass
Queens.
Frankie
Now he lives at LaGuardia.
Sass
At LaGuardia.
Frankie
He got an apartment at Lagarde.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
Wait, why did you move that far?
Sass
I just move. I mean, I wanted to save money. I'm not. I don't really do a lot of anymore, you know.
Big Cat
Do you have a bigger place?
Sass
Yeah, and way cheaper.
Big Cat
Nice.
Sass
Yeah. Yeah.
Big Cat
I mean, you did live in the most expensive place in the whole city. In the whole world.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
No, I couldn't keep.
Big Cat
It was like Tokyo, Japan and Saskatchewan is apartment Monaco.
Sass
I mean, I was like, I looked on Zillow. Just like, for kicks, to see. Like. Yeah, maybe there's something around me. And it's like the apartments around my apartment were like 30 grand a month.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
It was like, there's nothing here.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
My parents would be like, why don't you just buy your place? Like, well, do you guys have $15 million?
Big Cat
Wait, so what? So what? So has it changed anything? Like.
Sass
No. No.
Big Cat
What's the commute?
Francis
That's.
Sass
Take the train. It's pretty easy. It's like 25 minutes. Yeah. It's quick.
Big Cat
You're good.
Francis
We don't see them.
Sass
Yeah, they see me multiple times a week for hours at a time. It's more than I see most people.
Francis
I would say it's a coin flip if we're going to see you.
Frankie
And that's also at work. Yeah.
Sass
Were we hanging out a lot before that?
Francis
Yeah, we were trying to. You and I used to play pool like twice a week.
Sass
You talk about this. This was five years ago.
Francis
I miss those days.
Frankie
Pool halls. Yeah. Cuz you not Adam.
Big Cat
I don't see.
Sass
I'm not getting any invites to any pool halls.
Big Cat
Do you have any relationships in your life that is like. Like everyone with you where we just want to be your friend and you just push us off? Like, is there. Do you have a friend who's like, you're trying to hang out with and they're like, nah.
Sass
Like, do I have friends that are like that?
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
Yeah, definitely.
Big Cat
To push you off.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
But not in, like, I guess in the same way that I do to them where it's not like a disrespect thing.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
I don't like you.
Big Cat
I would just love it if, like, Sass had, like, a friend. He's a white. Yeah, yeah, exactly. To hang out with.
Francis
They just turn into. It's like a. It becomes like a withdrawal off.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
And then they don't talk to each other. But more importantly, he.
Frankie
He.
Francis
His best friend starts reaching me.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
And he doesn't like it.
Big Cat
I was listening to that episode. Bo's texting you.
Francis
Yeah.
Sass
His name.
Big Cat
Yeah, he. Yeah.
Frankie
Closed the gap of the triangle. Yeah. He told Sass he's not allowed him too hard about his Birmingham apartment.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
He's a homie hopper, though. He's just taking. Taking friends.
Francis
Well, he knows. He knows.
Sass
He.
Francis
He knows. I'll give him what he doesn't, which is friendship, support, love, book recommendations, outdoor activities, whatever.
Sass
I'll tell you what my theory is.
Frankie
He.
Sass
He never listened to the podcast ever. Right. He was never Listening to it. He knew we would talk about him occasionally, but he wasn't really listening. He got his first, like 9 to 5, started listening. First episode he listened to was the one where we were talking about, I think it's called Birmingham the episode. And then he texted me me and was like, can't say all that stuff. Like, that was too much. Whatever. Now he's listening to every single episode.
Big Cat
Listen to this right now.
Sass
Yes. I think now he likes hearing us talk about, like, it went from being like, don't talk about me to us not talking about him to him being like, what the.
Big Cat
Why aren't they talk about?
Sass
Yeah, why are they talking about? And now he's text. Cuz he knows he's going to get on the podcast.
Big Cat
Put me on a group chat with him.
Francis
I will definitely. He and I talk. I have more text exchanges with him than I do with Harry.
Sass
I haven't even told you guys about.
Frankie
All right.
Sass
Did I tell you about his friend in Birmingham? The son of a boy dad. Listener.
Francis
Oh, sorry, I thought you just. You said friends.
Sass
After, after that whole episode, he got a bunch of DMS from like people that listen to the podcast being like, I actually live here, like, you know, let's go hang out. He's got this one kid that he hangs out with all the time and they just listen, they just talk about the podcast and like, go, wait, he
Big Cat
lives in Birmingham now?
Sass
Yeah.
Francis
Isn't that amazing?
Big Cat
In England?
Sass
No, no. Alabama. Alabama.
Big Cat
Okay. Because.
Frankie
Yeah, but they did just go to Birmingham.
Big Cat
All the Birmingham popular.
Frankie
Yes.
Francis
Amazing how much the world can come together when you just keep your arms open, you know?
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
So he's got a. He's got a friend through this podcast.
Sass
He's got a friend through the pod.
Big Cat
Listen, people are just looking for community. Yeah.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
That's really what they are.
Sass
Sounds like a good guy.
Big Cat
So are they doing like son of a boy dad meetups down there?
Sass
Pretty much, yeah.
Frankie
They just get together and listen in silence. They just sit knee to knee with each other and listen to the.
Big Cat
What's that guy's name? We gotta start mentioning him.
Sass
His name'. Joe.
Big Cat
Joe.
Frankie
Joe and Joe.
Sass
Yeah, Joe's the man. Great guy.
Big Cat
Shout out Joe.
Sass
They go on like, fishing trips together.
Big Cat
Joe and Bo Fishing charters.
Sass
They were up in like, Nor, Tennessee yesterday. They drove up.
Big Cat
Oh, they're traveling together.
Frankie
I wonder what they listen to on the way.
Sass
Son of a boy dad.
Frankie
Of course. Hopefully they listen to some classics.
Francis
Son of a bojo.
Sass
I don't think.
Big Cat
Are they sexual?
Sass
You don't know. You never know, right? I mean, new friends. I gotta. I mean, I'm gonna have to meet this guy, you know, make sure nothing funny's going on him.
Frankie
You gotta vet him. Yeah.
Sass
You guys aren't. Are you?
Francis
Do you know that this made me think of this Lincoln. Right. So the reason that there are rumors that Lincoln was homosexual.
Big Cat
Cuz his wife was a. Right.
Francis
No. Well, she was insane. Yeah. But more because when he was a lawyer, before he was a politician, they used to do the circuit court. They would run the circuit as lawyers and they would just like go to different towns and whatever in Illinois. And he'd be traveling with other young lawyers. And it was completely customary to share a bed in a boarding house.
Big Cat
Oh.
Francis
And so he would constantly be in like a queen bed with another man.
Frankie
A queen bed spelled with a K. You know what?
Big Cat
This I never knew. You probably know this, Francis, that like Kennedy had a. A gay best friend who just lusted after him for his entire life.
Frankie
Oh my God. That probably was so nice for Kennedy
Big Cat
to just have somebody like he was inner circle like Kennedy. But like, they went to boarding school together. And I think he like, professed his love to JFK when they're in boarding school. And JFK was like, nah, dude, you
Frankie
can suck me off, but it's not.
Big Cat
I love slamming chips, but you can hang out with me. And then he just like, was part of, you know, the presidential campaigns. And I think he was even part of like, his trust after.
Frankie
It's not gay if I don't come.
Big Cat
I mean, JFK being like, I get migraines if I don't come. What a pickup did that?
Frankie
Is that what he said?
Big Cat
Yeah, he said that's chicks be like, if I don't get off. Like you're going to. The world is at stake.
Sass
Migraines love Brandon specifically.
Big Cat
They.
Sass
They treat it like they're going through war.
Big Cat
Brandon's migraines are just. He just doesn't drink water.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
If he drinks one, like, if I'm
Sass
out in the sun for too long, I get a head. It's like, yeah, everyone on earth gets.
Big Cat
Yeah, right, right. If I'm standing for too long, I get tired.
Frankie
Yeah. Migraines, man.
Francis
I'll tell you, having like 16 drinks in a night, I'll get a migraine.
Frankie
Always after you're hungover.
Big Cat
Brandon went to the doctor and the doctor prescribed him water.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
They were like, here's a cup of water. Drink that. He's like, wow, it's a miracle Truck is.
Sass
Is ch.
Francis
More of those back there.
Sass
Is Che drinking at all or is he still.
Big Cat
Is he still wagging? I think he's. He drinks a little bit.
Sass
I know he had that. Yeah.
Big Cat
A heart attack.
Sass
He had a heart attack
Frankie
like during
Sass
the case race, right?
Big Cat
Yeah, he didn't actually have a. So he, we. We did the case race. He drank 16 drinks, fell asleep on the basketball court. Were you in that case race? Yeah, fell asleep on the basketball court, woke up the next day and like, I think his apple watch was like. Irregular heartbeat. Yeah.
Frankie
Yeah.
Big Cat
Went to the hospital. It was like I had a heart attack. And they're like, I think you just are really drunk and have anxiety.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
Relatable waking up on a basketball court and then wondering why your heart's racing.
Big Cat
Yeah. Probably like with like sting.
Frankie
Face pain.
Big Cat
Yeah, yeah.
Frankie
Poorly washed off face paint. It's worse than actually having the face paint on. Just like trying to get shadow of face pain around your eyes would be
Sass
like going into like doing the case race and then going to the bathroom and then cat, you're like, oh my God, I forgot I had that on. Yeah, like seeing the joker.
Big Cat
Oh yeah.
Sass
You're like, oh God.
Big Cat
Do you guys get routines, physicals?
Sass
Like I do like pro. I probably do.
Big Cat
Well, no, that's a. It's a pretty straightforward. Yes.
Sass
You get one you like once a year, right?
Big Cat
Yeah.
Sass
So yeah. Like I, I don't. The thing is I never want to.
Frankie
I probably get routine.
Sass
My doctor, when I call to get prescriptions filled, they make me get the. If I haven't got it before they fill the prescription. So I gotta go in.
Big Cat
I started doing this. You might do this, Francis. The skin. The skin.
Francis
I've been doing that.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Francis
Yeah.
Big Cat
But that's crazy.
Francis
I know. Because that's the most. That's the most revealing and vulnerable you'll ever be.
Big Cat
Yeah. And they just, they look at every piece of your skin to like. And you're supposed to do it every year. My wife made me do this and then they, they credit car card swiped me. She opened up my ass cheeks.
Frankie
Oh, dude. I used to have to do this as a little kid cuz I had like some, some weird moles that they got that I took off. And so I'd have to go in every year and show all my moles. And I have a. I have a mole on the back of my ball sack. So they get done checking me and every time that they leave, I. I'd have to be like, I actually have a mole on my ball sack that you also have to check. And I'd have to, like, pull up my ball sack. Like, I was, like, lifting an apron. Like, spray.
Sass
Not done yet.
Frankie
We thought you were done. My little boy ball sack is down here, Doc.
Big Cat
I. I had that. I. I didn't. I had a lapse in physicals probably for about 15 years. I went back for the first time, and the. They were like, you know, you go in, the nurse takes your weight, height, all that stuff. And then she's like, all right, you can get changed. I got naked. And then the doctor came in and was like, what?
Frankie
He's like, oh. From part of my take, are you fully naked?
Francis
Yes.
Big Cat
And he's like. And he closed the door. He's like, oh, I'm sorry. And then I realized they had left me a robe. And I was like, God damn it. So bad.
Frankie
With your feet. Kicking your feet so bad.
Big Cat
And then I'm at the age 2 now, where my physical, like, they asked, like, how many drinks I have a week, and I don't really drink anymore.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
And I started just like.
Francis
He.
Big Cat
It was like, yeah, I don't really drink. And then I was like. But, like, I did. I used to and, like, do coke and mush and, like, just started, like, basically just being like, I'm not a loser, dude. And my doctor was just like, I'm a doctor. What are you telling me?
Frankie
What are you trying to prove? Showing them old pictures?
Francis
Yeah, I was gonna say, look how old up I am here. Yeah.
Big Cat
Dude, check this out. Look at my eyes.
Sass
I'm clearly up in this photo. You can tell.
Big Cat
Oh, but yeah. Yeah.
Frankie
I mean, I did the pre novo scan. Oh, the full body scan. Full body mri, and I mean, every clean bill of health, so.
Sass
Love that.
Big Cat
Those are. Those are private, though, right?
Frankie
Yeah, it's private. You have to pay a grip of money for it. It's basically like, you pay because you want to make sure that everything's good. And then for the two weeks beforehand and the week before you get your results, you convince yourself that everything is wrong. You have, like, terrible cancer or whatever, and you get it. And they're like, you're fine.
Sass
What I'd be looking for new, I'd be like, this is. This wasn't there when I did this.
Big Cat
What a business model, though. Just like, to just. Hypochondriacs.
Frankie
Yes. Everybody in there is, like, clearly hypochondriac. It's like, yeah, you're all just nervous and have expendable cash.
Sass
100 completely healthy people.
Big Cat
Yeah. And everyone. Everyone thinks that they have like, I went to my doctor, doctor, and I was like, I had just convinced myself I was just tired and I was like, I need testosterone. He's like, all right, well, we'll test it. And then I tested, and he was like, you have just totally normal testosterone. I was like, God damn it.
Frankie
Yeah.
Big Cat
He's like, yeah, pretty much everyone comes in here asking for that. He's like, they. They watch like a Huberman podcast or Joe Rogan podcast. They think it's a miracle drug. And I'm like, God damn it.
Sass
Yeah.
Big Cat
This is what real medicine is. Versus.
Frankie
Yeah, I just thought I could get prescribed it just by asking.
Big Cat
Yeah, yeah.
Frankie
Lately, drug seeking behavior.
Sass
Yeah, let's pump some hormones into me.
Frankie
We're at an hour or we're at well over an hour.
Big Cat
You guys just cut it off. Why don't you give people a little more sass? I'm.
Sass
Look at me. I'm ready to go. I'll go for hours. No, no, stopwatch here.
Big Cat
I always get bummed out when you guys cut it. But no, it's. You know, I actually think you guys are smart to do that and also to not. Not have guests every single time.
Sass
Yeah, yeah.
Big Cat
Like, I. I wish. Pardon my take. Like, we didn't always have. Like, we didn't establish that, but you
Sass
guys get like, kind of like the best of both worlds where you get to like, still do like your guys own without.
Big Cat
Yeah, I know, but like, sometimes it's like, man, I wish we could just,
Sass
you know, like two and a half hours, just you guys.
Francis
Or.
Big Cat
Yeah, like an hour and a half and just.
Sass
Yeah.
Frankie
Or you didn't need to get a guest that week. We like, oh, we don't have to find someone.
Big Cat
Right?
Frankie
Yeah, that's a different.
Big Cat
Asking people to come on your podcast is the worst thing in the world.
Sass
It sucks.
Frankie
People don't realize that. It's like a different. Like, there's different styles of podcasting where it's like, I. I didn't even get it at first. When we first would have people on Son of a Boy, Dad. I like, I think I thought that we were interviewing them.
Big Cat
Yeah. You guys interview show, right?
Frankie
It's not an interview. It's not an interview. Like, our first time we had Shane Gillis on, we were. I think I was like, so what was it like when you were first on snl?
Sass
Like, yeah, we were asking the same questions that he. Everyone asked, but it's like, it's not
Frankie
what it should be. And it's like a different style and and you guys pretty seamlessly go back and forth within the styles on one episode.
Big Cat
Yeah. Yeah. And it's also, like, that's when you have. When you have guests that you know and they come back. That's. Those are the best interviews. You don't have to interview. Yeah.
Sass
And they understand, like, how it's going to go. We always got to, like, every time we got a guest, like, halfway through the episode, we got to be like, this is it, by the way.
Frankie
Yeah.
Sass
Like, this is.
Frankie
There's not going to be like, a.
Sass
Yeah, we're not going to surprise you about.
Francis
Yeah, we don't care about you at all. We're just tired.
Big Cat
Needed someone to put on the thumbnail, actually, if you don't even want to be on the episode. But are you okay with the thumbnail? We're fine with that, too.
Francis
Yeah. We just have. We have a week coming up where we're not all gonna be here. So that's why you're here.
Big Cat
You guys are doing, what, like six episodes this week?
Sass
Something like that? Pretty much. We're done with two now, so here we go.
Big Cat
And then we got Fruit and Big John Gruden.
Sass
Yeah, exactly.
Francis
JG Mellon making kb.
Sass
We had Jerry and Mooc on Compton
Frankie
just texted me back. Back. Yeah.
Sass
Tell him he's out.
Frankie
He's out.
Sass
He's done. He had his chance.
Frankie
He said, since I didn't hear from you, I figured we weren't hitting the pod, which is my fault because I asked him, and then he asked and I said, let me ask you guys. And then Sass didn't answer, and so I didn't answer.
Francis
Will see what you see what you do.
Frankie
You were the domino. I'm going to go ahead and blame you on this one.
Big Cat
Yeah.
Frankie
Son of a boy, dad.
Sass
Son of a boy, dad. Big cat. Thank you for joining.
Big Cat
Yes, thank you, boys. Love the show.
Francis
You can find him on another podcast. Podcaster.
Sass
All right, we'll be back next week. Goodbye.
Big Cat
Thanks, boys.
Podcast: Son of a Boy Dad
Date: June 18, 2026
Hosts: Lil Sasquatch (Sass), Rone, Frankie, Francis
Guest: Big Cat (Barstool Sports)
Location: Chicago
In this lively, freewheeling episode, Sass leans on Big Cat and the other Barstool crew to talk about his "rudderless" post-college stage, employment drama, social dynamics at Barstool, and broader life lessons. Much of the conversation centers on growing up in the Barstool universe, negotiating self-worth, adapting to public life, and filling the gaps in adulthood education—the kind of roundtable therapy session that mixes airing grievances, trading war stories, and riffing with punchlines.

This episode is an archetypal Barstool roundtable—there’s equal parts mentorship, misbehavior, and meta-commentary on the very world of podcasting. It’s as much about the interpersonal “education” of Sass as it is a glimpse into the always-on, chaotic, often hilarious microcosm of Barstool life. If you want relatable stories about screwing up, growing up, and giving each other endless shit—this is Barstool at its most unfiltered-yet-surprisingly-sincere.
