presented by our partners at Chase Sapphire Preferred. One thing Ronan and I can agree on is that a lot of our spending tends to revolve around food and travel. Whether it's trying a new restaurant, stocking up on groceries or booking a trip, those purchases add up. That's one reason the Chase Sapphire Preferred card stands out. Card members can earn up to 3x points on dining, ordering online groceries, gas stations and EV charging, plus 5x points on travel through Chase Travel and 3x points on vacation home rentals through top brands like Airbnb and vrbo.
Francis
Basically, it rewards a lot of things that I'm already spending money on anyway.
Dana Beers
Exactly. And with all these new benefits, the annual fee is still just $95. To learn more about the Chase Sapphire preferred card to chase.com Sapphire Preferred that's chase.com Sapphire Preferred cards issued by JP Morgan Chase Bank, NA Member FDIC. Subject to credit approval. Terms apply.
Francis
All right.
Ronan
All righty. Welcome back to the Son of a Boy dad podcast. We are here live in Chicago with Dana Beers. Hello.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Hey, boys.
Francis
Dana.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Honored to get. Honored to get the call up for this.
Dana Beers
Oh, we love.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
You guys are crushing it, dude.
Ronan
Well, we know that, but.
Francis
That's obvious, bro. But do you remember your last appearance? What? The time of year, the duration, and the drink.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It was around Thanksgiving or Christmas, probably Christmas. And there was a brown liquor and milk.
Ronan
Eggnog.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Eggnog.
Dana Beers
Eggnog.
Ronan
Not milk.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Same.
Ronan
Or was it milk?
Dana Beers
No, it was eggnog.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I knew it was something creamy.
Francis
It is milk.
Ronan
Similar.
Francis
It basically is milk. And we had you on for how many minutes?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
At least 8.
Ronan
Probably between 8 to 10 at most.
Francis
10. You stayed at most.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
You guys have come a long way since then.
Francis
Thanks to you. Honestly.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, honestly.
Francis
This is our. Our big thank you to you. Finally.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I got you, dude.
Ronan
That episode really set us over the edge.
Francis
That was the one.
Ronan
Took us to that next level that we were looking to get to.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Talked about. We were just talking about, like, I
Ronan
don't know what we talked about on the podcast yesterday, let alone. Yeah, I forget how we started today. I'm already lost.
Francis
No, we miss you like crazy, though. I know that Francis always gets a. A crack at you with his. With his teaching series.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, it's nice to. It's weird because, like, my wife is from New York, so we plan some trips there every now and then, but I would like to still come back and film more and do stuff with Franny, but it just. It hasn't happened as much as we had hoped.
Dana Beers
No. But, you know, it's okay. We try. We both believe in it. We enjoy working together. I'm trying to get him to come back to New York so that we can record and then I can take him to play some golf, but he doesn't want to do it. He says he's not good enough.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, I. When I'm good, I'm good, but I have a mental. I'm dealing with a mental problem on the golf course right now, and it's.
Ronan
What's the issue?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yips.
Ronan
Yips. Where's the ball going?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Just, like, everywhere. It started with my wedges, and it would be like a 60 degree. I would take a normal swing and it would just go, like, on the ground. And then it got so bad that it was, like, onto my irons, and so it got to the point where I just didn't want to play golf anymore. And so I'm slowly trying to get back in. But the word. The thing I don't want to do is go to a sick course with Francis and hit ground balls for three hours.
Dana Beers
Yeah, that would be. That would be annoying. But. And I. I mean this. 100 sincerely. The best cure for the yips is drinking.
Sponsor Voice 2
I know.
Dana Beers
You just.
Francis
But he just refuses to do that. Yeah, I know. But I'm not gonna do it. I'm not gonna try that.
Dana Beers
Dana. Dana, you should have some drinks. And then it'll quiet the. The voices of worry in your head and you'll just sort of let your old athletic swing take over your muscle memory.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
And I've been hitting the sim a little bit. It's been getting.
Ronan
Yeah. How's the sim going?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I was a lot better. A lot better.
Ronan
So you're straight on the sim, but once you get out to the course.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I haven't played on a course since October, so I don't want to be the first time I hop back in to be embarrassing myself with Francis.
Francis
I don't think you're gonna embarrass yourself. I think that you underestimate yourself and downplay yourself. And I think you're gonna wind up being fine.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Those guys are so cool over there. Francis's friends.
Dana Beers
What do you mean? No cool people? We're not gonna be going. I'm not gonna be like. Guys, everybody, this is my buddy Dana. Come around. You know, that's not what will happen.
Ad/Promo Voice
We'll.
Dana Beers
We'll hit our first tee shots. Maybe a couple people will watch. You'll probably do poorly off the first te. It's always the most pressure packed shot.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
What if I took a Xanax?
Ronan
It's a great idea.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I've never done that.
Dana Beers
I think a beta blocker would be better for you.
Ronan
No.
Dana Beers
Harry knows about the beta blockers.
Francis
What's the difference?
Ronan
Beta blocker doesn't do anything. Beta blocker. It. It's a heart. It's. It's a blood. It's a blood pressure medication that they use off script for anxiety and specifically performance anxiety. And it pretty much just makes it like sex. No, I don't think it would work for that. It might.
Francis
I think it's the kind of thing that probably would ruin your sex.
Ronan
Probably. If I had to guess. Cuz it slows. Like it pretty much. It just. It. It prevents your adrenaline from spiking a pa. Like it won't. Like your heart rate won't get like out of control and you won't get, like, the sweaty hands and, like, your armpits won't be sweating.
Francis
Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm a PA guy.
Ronan
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dana Beers
Is that performance anxiety?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, yeah.
Dana Beers
You are with.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
With peeing sometimes with sex. Like stage being on stage.
Dana Beers
What?
Ronan
Are you on stage a lot?
Sponsor Voice 2
No.
Francis
Are you on stage having piss sex a lot?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No.
Ronan
On stage, it's mostly just pissing.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I can't piss in front of people. That's what I'm trying to say.
Ronan
I'm the same way, though. I can't piss in front of people.
Dana Beers
When you have performance anxiety during sex, is your anxiety that you won't be able to maintain an erection, achieve an erection or. Or arrive at ejaculation.
Ronan
Arrived at ejaculation. It's crazy.
Francis
Answer the men usually a boner.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Achieving an erection, like a. Keeping the bone.
Dana Beers
Keeping and maintaining an erection.
Francis
Yeah, but you're just. You're having a lot of your sex. Excuse me for saying this. It might. Might be drunk, though.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
So you're fighting against yourself.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It's mostly the WD40.
Francis
The whiskey.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
Even without the whiskey.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
The whiskey dick.
Francis
You still get the 40.
Ronan
Yeah, well, you know what? You know what?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That was pretty good by me. I don't usually have stuff like that in my bag.
Dana Beers
No, that was very good.
Ronan
I think you got to just take the 40 beers down and then at the end of the night, get a little beta blocker in you.
Francis
Okay, That's. That will kill.
Dana Beers
I don't think you should.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
The only thing I know about beta blockers is that guy on Summer House, on the reunion, right? He was beta blockered out.
Francis
Yeah. As a couple. They were beta blockers.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
He was just so. He didn't. He just sat there like this the whole time.
Francis
They were like, you're the worst person that's ever walked the face of the Earth. And he was like, all right, okay. We all fucking hate you as a friend group now. And, like, you're, like a bad person to your core. And you. They're just both like, whatever. Like, people aren't allowed to be in love.
Ronan
I don't think people. People think that. I think people think that beta blockers are much stronger than they are. They don't.
Francis
Then they were on alpha block.
Dana Beers
No, hold on a minute now. Maybe you haven't had that much experience. Right. Or success. Success, rather. They don't work that well for you.
Ronan
No, I've. I took them and then they didn't work, and then I kept taking them and they started working.
Dana Beers
Well, that's because you washed down your beta blockers with 14 energy drinks and seven jewel pods.
Ronan
No, the beta blockers, I'm just saying, they not. You don't feel anything. It's not like Xanax or Klonopin or anything like that. It's not a benzos. Like, you don't. You don't feel anything.
Dana Beers
But that's the point. You also don't feel the creeping sense of doom as you stand over a ball near the green. Right. Like, is that the thought?
Ad/Promo Voice
No.
Ronan
Because you still have mental anxiety. It doesn't do anything for your brain,
Dana Beers
just slows your heart rate.
Ronan
It just slows down your heart rate. That's all it does.
Dana Beers
Well, that would help me. I mean, yeah. I remember in my most sort of fearful moments on the golf course where I thought, like, oh, my God, I'm not going to hit this. Well, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
Ronan
Definitely. Yeah, it does help in that way. But I'm just saying, like, mentally, it does nothing.
Francis
Boys, let's experiment. Let's experiment with drugs. Like, let's try these all together. You would take activities.
Ronan
Yeah. Honestly, you'd probably get on the stage,
Francis
let's piss and let's have sex.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
And let's just see. And just see if we. If that works. Because it probably works for some people. Some people swear by it.
Ronan
Nothing works better than a good old Benzo, if we're being honest. That's the cure.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I've never indulged.
Francis
Yeah. Maybe that'll help the golf game.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm afraid I would like it too
Francis
much, I don't think.
Ronan
Yeah, I mean, I definitely wouldn't be doing it.
Francis
Are you a high anxiety person in general? Yeah, I have anxiety.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm like. I have very general anxiety. I've had. I've had bouts with, like, panic attacks. I've been on medication pretty much since I was in high school, but, you know, just pretty general what's going on good over there.
Dana Beers
I've never seen a mic stand with so many knobs. I've never seen it. There's this thing, telescopes in 14 different ways. Who's. Who needs it to bend this much?
Sponsor Voice 2
Seriously?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know.
Dana Beers
Look at, look at how many different
Ronan
ways it is bending in ways I've never.
Dana Beers
And then. And then, as a result, there's no structural integrity whatsoever.
Ronan
Yeah, these things, there's.
Francis
There's got to be a knob.
Dana Beers
I can't figure out which knob to tighten in order to get it to stop.
Ronan
I think it's just the big One. The la. The one with the knob.
Francis
This?
Ronan
No, no, no, the one above that.
Dana Beers
This? Yeah, there we go.
Ronan
Now it's working.
Dana Beers
Look, it's fine. And I feel bad. Tyler, you're doing a great job. This is not on you, obviously,
Francis
that you've got.
Ronan
Here we go.
Sponsor Voice 2
Yeah.
Ronan
Now we're cooking.
Dana Beers
So we think. And then it starts doing what Dana does. 10 minutes, 10 pumps in.
Ad/Promo Voice
Wilting,
Dana Beers
wilting under the pressure.
Francis
We need to get some beta block for that mic stand.
Dana Beers
Drooping and then being like, I promise this isn't about you.
Francis
It's me. I'm stressed at work.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
Are you watching Summer House? Are you watching shows like that?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, yeah. My wife loves that shit, so I, I, it's pretty addicting.
Francis
By the way.
Dana Beers
I love every guy that answers that question. It's always like, yeah, my wife loves all that trash, you know, dude. So I'll like tune in. It's never like, yes, I personally enjoy it and we together watch it because I've found an emotional stakes that I can.
Ronan
If I had to guess, I would say Roan is leading the charge in the house to watch Summer House.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I know all of it.
Ronan
Yeah, you're definitely the one, like turning it on.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, sometimes I'll toss. I'll be like, why don't you toss the housewives on?
Francis
Yeah, yeah, it should be on at like 5:00'. Clock. Except for they're, they're giving you below deck at 5 o'. Clock. If it was on at 5 o'.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Clock. I don't with below that.
Francis
Yeah, below deck. What's that?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Dude, it's drama. It's some, it's some absolute bullshit.
Francis
It's just like they're on a. It's the staff of a personal yacht and it's just they don't really have that much drama. It's just, I mean, it's cool I guess as like a travel show, but like the levels of what they could be doing in front of all these guests is way lower. It's not a salacious. So it's some like, we need to have the. Is it just like Benzo out housewives who are having public fights and like throwing glasses at each other and like getting divorced and like have stealing each other's man.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
You've been watching Rory?
Francis
I. I was talking a little bit about it yesterday.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's good.
Dana Beers
What's Rory wrote?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
Dana Beers
Oh, okay.
Francis
Honestly, I think that like, guys get into watching Bravo shows because of sports guilt. And like, you watch enough sports where it's like, okay, like I've had Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Yeah, like you take, you take a bunch of days and we'll really buy in. But my wife doesn't quid pro quo it and like sports in return. Like I'm liking the shit out of her shows, but she doesn't, she still doesn't give a fuck about, about sports.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh no, my wife likes football but she, I watch basketball pretty much every night and she's, she hates it. Absolutely. Yeah.
Dana Beers
It's too diverse for her.
Ronan
Yeah, basketball's boring as hell.
Francis
What?
Ronan
Slow. The last four minutes of the game are great.
Francis
That's such like a old.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's the slowest part though.
Ronan
I know, but that's when. That's the only entertaining part.
Francis
That's such an old dude take. That's. That sucks.
Ronan
It's just not really for me, that's all. I'll leave it at that. I'll leave it at that.
Francis
Chris Clemmer was talking about how boring the World cup is, how boring soccer is and he's like, it's nothing compared to baseball. Like baseball's awesome. I was like, are you fucking kidding me? There's non stop movement in action during the World Cup. In baseball it's only stops and they've sped up the game.
Ronan
Baseball is. That's a crazy one.
Dana Beers
I didn't check the final score. Did you guys over end up hitting last night or no?
Ronan
Oh, I didn't check either, actually.
Francis
I didn't check out either.
Dana Beers
Wow. Must be nice. Place a bet, not even care if it hits.
Ronan
I would assume no.
Dana Beers
Must be nice.
Francis
It's for, it was for the, it's really the thrill of the chase. I would never bet if I, if
Dana Beers
I needed to win that Telluride bush you money.
Francis
Yeah.
Ronan
Let's see.
Francis
It doesn't look like it was five to two. It stayed the same. Yeah.
Ronan
No, it did not.
Francis
You get out to any Cubs games since you've been here?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I've been to a couple. My, my, my new number one goal in life is to catch a ball at a game. But like off the bat, not in warm ups, not like some dude throws at you from the outfield. I want to catch a ball while with a beer in my hand. That's my number one goal in life.
Dana Beers
We're talking home run. Are we talking foul ball and home run?
Ronan
But you want it to be a home run.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
You know, homeowner would be so sick.
Francis
But foul ball is sick though.
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Francis
Because the angle of a foul ball like a home run Comes to you like the, like tracking a foul ball.
Ronan
Yeah, it's true.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
But you could kind of cheat the foul ball system and go to the spots where there's a lot of foul balls. Like, you go on the. On the third baseline or the first baseline, but home run would be.
Ronan
So have you. Have you, like, got tickets to, like, position yourself?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I've gone to like three or four games. Yeah. And one of them was so close to me, dude.
Ronan
Really?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Ad/Promo Voice
How close?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Like 10ft.
Francis
I know you're gonna get one. I know you are gonna get one. I told. I think you have to just start speaking it into existence.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I know it'. I've caught one at a minor league game, and it was the most electrifying thing that's ever happened.
Dana Beers
I caught one at a minor league game, but it rolled. And then I caught it.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I caught it off the ceiling and I caught with one hand and I gave it to a kid behind me. Coolest thing I've ever.
Dana Beers
I took it like a girl wanted it, and I took and I got it. Now, in my defense, this was when I was in middle school, so I myself was probably only like 12.
Ronan
Yeah, you take.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
If you're.
Dana Beers
But the girl was like seven.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
You take that ball.
Dana Beers
She was pretty young.
Francis
If she's younger than you, you got to give it to her now. But that wasn't the rule then.
Dana Beers
Correct.
Ronan
I feel like. I feel like that. You keep that.
Dana Beers
Yeah, I did.
Ronan
I would. Now wouldn't be giving that shit up. I wouldn't be. I don't know if I'll be giving it up now, to be honest.
Francis
I'm telling my kids that they have to give up the ball at any age. You always look like a G giving up the ball. I would like to get one and give it to them, but if they catch a ball, giving it to someone, they don't have to do it. It's not the rule. But you'll look like a stud. You find any woman and give them the ball, or any little kid younger than you.
Dana Beers
I think we got a five seconds of gratification. There's no lasting benefit.
Francis
If it gets caught on camera, you're viral forever. I think we gotta.
Ronan
I think we gotta reverse that.
Dana Beers
Like, I completely agree.
Ronan
The trend of, of you catch the ball and then you gotta give it to the closest girl or child.
Dana Beers
There's an entitlement. Children grow up thinking that souvenir home run balls will just be handed to them on a silver platter.
Ronan
That ball, for some reason, you're saying if They're.
Francis
If we're going to pay equal wages to women and children, we need to have them fight for the ball. Equal rights.
Dana Beers
You know where they're not giving balls to kids? Korea.
Ronan
Yeah. Yeah. Damn straight.
Dana Beers
Those kids are in school.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
How do you know?
Ronan
And the ones that have balls, they.
Dana Beers
Because they have the highest teenage suicide rate in the world because the pressure is so high.
Francis
Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
But they, that doesn't mean.
Francis
Maybe if they got a couple balls.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah. You could still catch a ball and kill yourself.
Dana Beers
You're less likely to do so.
Ronan
I think I would agree. I think it's like if you, if I think if. There's probably some sort of statistic where you could find it, where it's like anyone who has caught a baseball at a game, like your suicide chances go down by like 90%.
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Ronan
Cuz you're always going back to that.
Dana Beers
But caught a ball, right?
Ronan
Yeah.
Dana Beers
Not handed a ball.
Ronan
Oh, handed a ball. That's doing nothing.
Dana Beers
Handed a ball means like, oh, I need to be on pills.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yes, yes.
Dana Beers
And then one day you abuse them
Ronan
to try to forget about the ball that you lost.
Dana Beers
Correct.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
They're really, they're really doing it out there like that.
Francis
Yeah.
Dana Beers
Korea is really bad. South Korea, by the way.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Well, isn't that the less bad one?
Dana Beers
It is.
Ronan
Well, it's also North Korea. Nothing is. They don't really publicize anything.
Dana Beers
Yeah. We don't know anything that's coming out of North Korea.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
So they could be.
Ronan
It's probably much worse.
Dana Beers
It's probably worse than North Korea. But in, in South Korea the academic schedule and expectations of kids is so high and so strenuous that they buckle under the pressure and end up killing themselves. There was an article written about this. Apparently like these kids, they go to school starting at 7am till 3pm and then they like have this after school. You know, we would go to like soccer practice. Like they have English learning after school from you know, 3:30 to 5:30. And then there are these like American prep programs for standardized test prep or college application essay teaching or like whatever it is to try to get, get into colleges in the west. And those go to like 8:30 and then they have homework until 2 in the morning.
Francis
And then at 2 in the morning they have not tying and gun maintenance.
Dana Beers
That's right. Shoe polishing, rifle spinning. And then they wake up at 7am, start over and they can't, they can't keep up.
Francis
But what's like the, what's, what's the upside?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
What's the upside of Being a South
Dana Beers
Korean, they have the best skin in the world.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's that.
Francis
No, there is a lot and I'm glad you asked. One they. A huge export for them is boy bands. So it's like there's a really high chance that you wind up in a K pop group and can harmonize brilliantly and billions. And make billions. Yeah.
Dana Beers
K pop. K pop. And skin care.
Francis
Really good skin care.
Dana Beers
Unbelievable. Skin care. The best skin care products. Cheap.
Francis
Yeah, that's also good barbecue. They also have great barbecue.
Dana Beers
They have good barbecue.
Francis
There is upside. There's really high upside, but also really low downside.
Ronan
Really low.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Massages.
Dana Beers
Great films. Films.
Ronan
Great films.
Dana Beers
Great films. The Koreans are the second best in the world at making films behind the Nigerians. Behind us. Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know if you're with.
Dana Beers
Not at all. Parasite.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, yeah, Old boy Parasite.
Ronan
Yeah, they got a bunch of movies, man. Pretty much like every movie that you see that's Korean. I don't really watch most of them because I don't like doing the subtitles and all that. But like, if you look on IMDb, there are always like 8.9 out of 10, like crazy high ratings.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I have a lot of respect for South Koreans.
Francis
I love that.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Really?
Ronan
Why? Why is that where that comes from? You guys just said so.
Dana Beers
That's new.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Ronan
New respect.
Francis
Newfound.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I said I would say I would. I had medium respect for them before because I didn't know much about them, but now I'm at a high respect level.
Ronan
Good, good.
Dana Beers
We wanted that.
Francis
Would you bring. Would you bring a glove to a baseball game to catch a ball that's soft?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's soft as. Dude, that's lame.
Francis
Yeah.
Ronan
Are you going to.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I hate foul ball guy or home run guy, whatever.
Ronan
A lot of people.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I hope he sees this or fight him.
Ronan
I think that guy rules. No, I want to fight the man.
Francis
Do you know who this dude is, Francis?
Dana Beers
Yeah, of course. What do you got there?
Ronan
Doesn't he have like a big ass?
Francis
I think this is a. I think this is a cologne. Oh, here. Why don't you open that thing up,
Dana Beers
take a little whack of that.
Francis
Yeah, pass that. Get that. Get this room stinking like that cologne. While we talk about who foul ball guys.
Dana Beers
I'm sure this is someone's sponsor, right?
Francis
Yeah, there's a. There's a cooler full of cologne. They literally have an igloo.
Dana Beers
Yeah, they're keeping those heart transplants smelling good.
Francis
Yeah. It's not going to save your life, but it's going to have your chest smelling incredible.
Dana Beers
Dana, we have a policy of no looking at cell phones when you're. Son of a boy.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Dad, I'm just making sure. If Tyler can tell me when 12 o' clock hits. That's all. That's all I need to know. I'm sorry.
Ronan
Yeah, you got a heart out.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I have to do a Brandon shoot at 12.
Francis
He's doing a CVO commercial.
Ronan
Yeah, dude, Always on the clock.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Always on the clock.
Ronan
Stop.
Francis
He won't dodge the stuff on the golf course.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Never stopped.
Ronan
What would you say are your big. That's probably good for the whole room.
Francis
It's two spritzes.
Ronan
Yeah, but that's going to be strong. All right, that's good. That's good.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Smells good.
Francis
I want to throw it over here. I want to smell.
Ronan
No, no, no, no, no. Don't throw it to Rome. Don't. Cuz you know he's gonna.
Francis
Hail marriage between his fingertips.
Ronan
You know, Rome was definitely the kid in high school with like doing the axe bombs and. You ever do that? You ever see people do that? What is it when you get the portable, you got the little mini axe, and you throw a rubber band around it and you just like thr locker room, it's just spraying everywhere.
Francis
I've never heard of that.
Ronan
And then everyone has to walk around reeking like ax the whole day.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I've never seen that.
Francis
I've never heard of that in my life. But I would have loved to have done that.
Sponsor Voice
Yeah.
Sponsor Voice 2
Yeah.
Francis
I wasn't that mischievous.
Dana Beers
Wait, I knew some. I knew X bomb differently. I knew it to be a thing where people would, like, light them on fire and throw them and they'd explode.
Ronan
Oh, no. Yeah, we weren't doing that. This was like, in school. So that probably would have been.
Dana Beers
I mean, I like the axe bomb. I like your version better. It's a little less harmful.
Francis
Yeah, definitely.
Dana Beers
Because this kid that I used to tutor, he was. He one day showed up to a lesson in shorts and he had horrible burns all up and down his leg. And I was like, what happened? And he was like, well, we were playing with axe bombs.
Ronan
That's crazy.
Dana Beers
And he threw one down on the ground kind of, and it exploded and lit his whole leg on fire. Jesus.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
We used to do. We used to have a basketball camp back on the South Shore, and they would have, like, themed days. And one of the days was call College Shirt Day. So people would show up in their favorite colleges. This kid Sanchez showed up in a collared shirt. Collared shirt, Dude, I don't know.
Francis
It's shirt day. When you first said it, I was like, is he saying college or college
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
playing basketball on a polo dude? Probably like, our USC and Boston College.
Francis
It's hilarious.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I think he was in the. In the Marines.
Dana Beers
Shout out to Sanchez.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, hell, yeah.
Francis
That's the worst place to, like, say it in Boston and makes it. It's like college. College shirt day. College shirt day. Yeah, I could see that mix college shirt. Like, it's kind of hard. I don't blame Sanchez.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, me neither.
Francis
Was he local to Boston?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
He was actually a new kid.
Francis
Yeah. So even.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, it was like, his first third. Like, a third day as a guy from our high school.
Francis
So he didn't know the tradition of college shirt day.
Ronan
You guys ever do, like. Like, spirit week and all that?
Dana Beers
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Ronan
Like, dress up every day.
Dana Beers
Yeah, that was fun. I like that.
Ronan
I don't think anything has given me more, like, stress and anxiety than that. Just breaking down. I remember we. And my mom did it, and we went as, like, we did, like, Tropic Thunder. And I remember, like, our. Our costumes were dog. Like, real.
Francis
Who is the. Who played the guy that does blackface? Because that's one of the biggest characters in tr. Thunder.
Ronan
I didn't mean Tropic Thunder. I meant the basketball one.
Dana Beers
Oh. Bought Ricky. Bought Jackie Moon. Tropic.
Ronan
The Tropic. Is that the name of the movie?
Francis
Semi Pro.
Ronan
Semi Pro. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dana Beers
Oh, they are Flint Trop.
Ronan
So we all wore, like, Tropic uniforms, and, like, we all, like, made them. Like, they were really bad. And I remember, like, second, like, you go.
Francis
We still did blackface. One of us was Andre 3000.
Ronan
Yeah, you, like. You, like, we would all, like, meet up in the morning and, like, go to school together. Like, hang out. And then we, like. You have to go to class. And I remember, like, being in the outfit. The whole class, and then, like, second period, like, going to my next class and, like, seeing Beau, and he's just got, like, shorts and a T shirt on. Like, totally bailed. And now I'm just walking around solo with this fucking Tropics uniform, and no one knows what it is.
Francis
How many people did it? Just two of you?
Ronan
I think it was. I think it was three of us.
Dana Beers
And Peters.
Ronan
Yeah, I think so. They all bailed. Everyone ends up bailing. We all ended up bailing.
Francis
You're just last to bail.
Ronan
Yeah, that's.
Dana Beers
We didn't bail.
Ronan
You guys stayed strong.
Dana Beers
Brian Ertz and I went to Goodwill, and we wore all kinds of Nonsense. Just for twin day.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, hell yeah.
Dana Beers
Because he was a 6 foot 3 ginger as well.
Francis
He did twin day.
Dana Beers
Twin day.
Francis
So you have to pick a twin.
Dana Beers
Yeah, basically.
Ronan
And what do you wear? The same clothes.
Dana Beers
Correct.
Francis
Imagine getting twinned with the fat girl.
Ronan
Yeah, I know.
Francis
And you're like, now I'm a fat girl.
Dana Beers
Yeah. Not fun.
Ronan
That would be devastating.
Francis
There's gotta be some people that weren't appropriate twins.
Ronan
Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)

Dana Beers
I was always in the dance off.
Francis
What'd you hit him with?
Dana Beers
And one year me and Hannah Wasaluski want it together.
Ronan
What is the dance off? What's the dance off?
Dana Beers
It's a dance off.
Ronan
Well, I know that, but you said like I always. Always in the dance off.
Dana Beers
Well, you pick two people from your class to represent the class and the dance off.
Ronan
Oh, so it was just you and one other person.
Dana Beers
Correct. And then in the first year, I didn't dance with Hannah Wasilewski even though she took dance and was very good dancer. And they tapped us and eliminated us because we would learn later that the group, the pairs that would actually dance together would always win. So the next year, Hannah Wasaliewski and I did a lot of swing dancing stuff and we won.
Ronan
Did you guys practice?
Dana Beers
No, we were just kind of knew how to improvise our way around it. Love that.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Is she hot?
Dana Beers
I don't know.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Not back then.
Dana Beers
I haven't seen Hannah Wasaluski.
Francis
It would be okay if she was hot at the same age. Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
True. It's not like you're looking back and
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
being 33 year old if she was hot when she was 12 or whatever.
Dana Beers
Yeah, that's what you asked.
Francis
Was that 12 year old hot? I'm trying to picture her. It's more that he's trying to picture your emotions of like we're dancing with the hot girl.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Did you win any superlatives?
Dana Beers
Yeah, most outspoken.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's sick.
Dana Beers
It's. It's not as cool as it sounds, actually. That might be an insult, kind of. It's close.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah. Like you were known to just be. That kind of sounds like, you were just a dick.
Dana Beers
No, I think it was mostly because I. I raised a stink about the fact that our biology teacher wouldn't teach evolution because she was devoutly Christian.
Sponsor Voice 2
Really?
Dana Beers
Yeah. And it was a public school.
Francis
Yeah. Yeah.
Dana Beers
And it was like, evolution's one of the core blocks. Biology. And she was like, kind of offered it as, like, extra credit. She was like, if you guys want to research this on your own, you can.
Ronan
She would, like. She, like, straight up refused to talk about it.
Dana Beers
Yeah. She didn't cover it. Yeah.
Ronan
So what did you do?
Francis
How did you even know about it?
Dana Beers
Well, I didn't like the teacher.
Ronan
Yeah.
Dana Beers
Because she was a terrible teacher.
Ronan
Sounds like it.
Dana Beers
Terrible.
Ronan
It sounds like she should probably not be teaching biology.
Dana Beers
And I. I wanted to. I wanted to switch out of the class to the other bio teacher who was good. So I had to talk to the assistant principal about it, and I was like, yeah, I don't. I want to switch the other teacher because this is. This is a terrible class.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Dana Beers
These are the things that have gone wrong so far. And they were like, okay, well, we don't really have room or whatever. And then I was like, well, how about the fact that she won't teach. She won't teach evolution and it's a public school.
Ronan
And what'd they say?
Dana Beers
They're like, well, technically, they've. She's presented the material. They created some thing. And then there was an article written in the, like, local newspaper about her and about the fact that she didn't teach evolution, and they, like, the. The journalists, like, took her side. And then my buddy's parents, who were also furious about the fact that she didn't do this, wrote a letter to the journalists and was like, you got fleeced. That story was completely untrue.
Ronan
Damn. That's crazy.
Francis
Are you sure your superlative wasn't most likely to not be able to keep his little mouth shut?
Dana Beers
That's another way to put it. That might be the subtext, dude.
Ronan
About evolution.
Francis
Get our school in hot water with the newspapers.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I had a teacher my sophomore year of high school. And our assignment, it was like our end of the year assignment. It was to, like, write a story about some. You have to, like, write a book, pretty much like a short story. And mine was about this kid named Jerome who wanted to, like, make it to the NBA. Why is that funny?
Ronan
Because you named a kid. You named the kid.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
So you ready for this? He was a little black kid with cornrows, and he was just wanting to make it to the League she gave. She failed me because I named him Jerome.
Francis
Really?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
She called me racist.
Francis
Dude.
Ronan
That's crazy.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
She was like, you should have named him something else. I was like, why? You're a racist. And I failed, dude, you're right. I failed my end. And then I never like, made a stink of it or anything, but, like, I got. I failed the class because of that.
Ronan
That's pretty crazy.
Francis
Like, there's not black kids named Jerome, dude.
Ronan
Yeah, that's the. That's the part that I don't really get.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I mean, I would love to see
Ronan
what it is, but it's also not at the same time.
Dana Beers
No question. Did you really fail the class?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't if I failed the class, I failed the end of the end of the year, like, big project.
Ronan
Did you ever fail any classes in high school?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No.
Francis
Because you named a black kid Jerome. You should have hit her with the I'm Egyptian.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
The true. Yeah, I am African American.
Francis
Yeah, that's get out of jail free right there.
Dana Beers
Do you think that she would have cared if you had given Jerome a different aspiration? Like, let's say Jerome aspires to be a drug star restaurant, a NASA engineer.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know, dude.
Ronan
She would probably be like, there's never going to be an astronaut named Jerome.
Francis
Be realistic. Draw him.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Should I call my mom? My mom would know better than me.
Ronan
But that's crazy.
Francis
I mean, she was like, jerome could be a white guy. Tyrone maybe would have been more appropriate.
Ronan
Yeah, I mean, I feel like it's only racist because she thought it was racist.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, she's the race.
Ronan
I agree. She is the racist.
Dana Beers
You should have just been like, no, it's not Jerome. It's pronounced Jeromey. Yeah, Jeremy.
Francis
Yeah, it's J. Rome.
Ronan
Or you should have been like, yeah, this is my, like my cousin's name.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, no, I don't know.
Francis
You should be able to. But I don't even know if Jerome, like, what kind of name is Jerome?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Plenty of white Jerome, right?
Francis
There's white Jerome's, historically.
Ronan
Is there?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I can't name one, but they're out there.
Ronan
I don't think there are any.
Francis
I think. That isn't there. Like, I thought it's like an ancient name. Like, it's like a. Like an ancient Greek.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
You don't see a lot of Jerome's these days.
Dana Beers
No.
Francis
Jerry Seinfeld's real name is Jerome. His legal first name is Jerome.
Dana Beers
Jerome Seinfeld.
Ronan
So you were being anti Semitic.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's really Jerome Seinfeld.
Francis
Jerome Allen Seinfeld.
Dana Beers
Did he spell G or J? Wow. Are you serious?
Francis
And he. It says he had cornrows growing up. No, but it really is. Jerome Seinfeld is his real name.
Dana Beers
Wow.
Ronan
That's crazy.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
You.
Francis
Oh, man. I want. I wish your teacher knew this.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I hope she watches this.
Ronan
Have you guys seen those videos of Seinfeld from the.
Francis
What was the next game?
Ronan
The Knicks game with the Palestine stuff?
Francis
Yeah. Which is, like.
Ronan
I get, like, whatever. It's like, who. I don't give a. About what he thinks, but it's like, he's pretty insane about it.
Francis
He is pretty gleeful.
Ronan
Like, it's not like. He's just like, I'm not gonna talk about that. He's like, I hate Palestine. It's like, whoa.
Dana Beers
All right.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It's like, pretty sure.
Ronan
Like, you're, like, the only guy with that take.
Dana Beers
He's walking. No, he goes. He goes. It doesn't exist. Yeah, that's what he said.
Ronan
That's crazy.
Francis
There's another video where he's like, he. He just triples down.
Ronan
Yeah. It's not just like, I'm not gonna. Like, he used to do that. He'd be like, I'm not gonna talk about that. I'm not gonna talk about Palestine. And now he's just, like, laughing in the camera.
Dana Beers
I think he's been pretty. He's been pretty outspoken the whole time about that issue.
Francis
Yeah.
Ronan
But I remember, like, there was.
Dana Beers
Wife is literally, like, a thought leader on it.
Ronan
Oh, really?
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Her before. Fun fact.
Francis
Really?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
You met Jerome's wife? What was she doing?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
She was doing. I was doing a cooking video for her. It's a weird, long story.
Francis
You shot it?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
That's cool.
Ad/Promo Voice
Yeah.
Dana Beers
We're 450 episodes in. We have nothing else to talk about. If you want to.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Well, it was. It wasn't that cool. I was just in her apartment.
Ronan
Beautiful apartment or his apartment, or both.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Like, was he A good question. Is it his wife? Her last name was Seinfeld. Hold on.
Francis
It's got to be his wife.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
What's her name?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It doesn't matter. But, yeah, it was. It's a shitty story. I went and filmed.
Dana Beers
Her name is. Shaniqua Seinfeld.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Making brownies or something. And I filmed it.
Ad/Promo Voice
Stupid.
Francis
Sucks.
Ronan
Yeah, it did suck. It's like, the easiest thing in the world, getting out of the box.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I was sweating balls. Dude, it was so hot.
Dana Beers
How did you end up in this situation?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know.
Dana Beers
Is this for barstool?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, this is, like, a little Side. Side project.
Dana Beers
You're doing side projects? Wife.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It was one video for that dude that we did the video with. What's that guy's name? Ben.
Dana Beers
Oh, yeah. Through him.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Ben Soffer.
Dana Beers
Yeah, because you and I did the cooking video. So this was after that.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah. He, like, hit me up. He's like, hey, I just need a camera guy for something. Can you help?
Dana Beers
Oh, you filmed.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, yeah.
Dana Beers
Oh, I thought you were on camera.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Took like, half an hour.
Francis
Francis thought you betrayed him. I did a. A cooking video. You replaced Francis in a video with Ebony Seinfeld.
Dana Beers
I thought you were very nice lady. Yeah, very nice lady.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm sweating balls, dude.
Ronan
Unless you're living in Palestine. Probably not the nicest lady.
Dana Beers
You know the reason that. You know the reason why he said it doesn't exist?
Ronan
No.
Dana Beers
Well, that's like, the debate is that neither side recognizes each other as, like, a country.
Ronan
I thought he meant because it's, like, destroyed.
Dana Beers
No, I think it's because.
Ronan
Because they don't recognize it as a place.
Dana Beers
Yeah, yeah. Palestine. That I don't understand. It's.
Ronan
It's actually long debate.
Francis
It's really long.
Dana Beers
Yeah. It's too toxic to listen. I'm not gonna get into it.
Ronan
60 years plus.
Francis
So nice to bring on Dana Beers to talk Palestine.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Well, I am Middle Eastern and African American.
Dana Beers
Egypt, ironically. Yeah. Is.
Ronan
Has been pretty involved.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm in that, dude.
Francis
Ironically, I'm in it.
Ronan
Let my people go
Dana Beers
when D was a young boy.
Francis
Egypt does have some great history.
Ronan
Oh, yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Is Egypt. Are they in, like. Are they any. Any.
Ronan
They're always right now, but I don't think it's anything crazy.
Francis
Like, I think a lot of refugees are going to Egypt. I think that they're taking in a lot of Middle Eastern refugees.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
And people want them, a lot of them, to go to Egypt. I also heard that they're, like, pushy about tourism. If you want to get a. If you want to go to the pyramids, someone's going to make you take a tour or something like that. Have you ever gone back?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I've never been. My dad has been, and I tell the story, but a monkey jumped on his shoulder, stole his hat. That's the story.
Ronan
That's pretty crazy. I mean, that's pretty crazy story.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, I know.
Ronan
Like, if I saw that, I would be like, holy.
Francis
I know it very efficiently.
Dana Beers
It's also funny that you started that by saying, I told this story.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I've told it many times.
Ronan
Pretty quick.
Dana Beers
My dad went, and that happened.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's my Egypt story.
Ronan
I mean, you could tell that story a hundred times a day.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I know I don't have old. That's my only Egypt story. My grandfather was 100 Egyptian. I only know him. I use a doctor, but I don't really know him.
Francis
Moses.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
He's dead. I. I never knew him. I don't know why I'm saying I don't really know him. I don't know him. I've never known him. His name was Ibrahim. Did you.
Ronan
Did he have any cats? Cats.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Get a pool.
Ronan
Oh, that doesn't really.
Francis
Did he have a sphinx that he asked him riddles or anything?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, dude, but my grandma wrot wrote a book called in the. In the Shadow of the Sphinx.
Francis
Really?
Ronan
Yeah.
Francis
What kind of book?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Like a book. Oh, like a real book.
Ronan
Damn. Was it good?
Dana Beers
I think. I don't think he meant like, was it a physical book or a. In her head. I think he meant like, was it a novel? Was it children's history? Was it a.
Francis
Was it like a history book or like a story? A story. Like a made up, like a non or a fiction tale.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I have. I can't lie. I never took the time to read it.
Francis
True. My grandma wrote a book that I didn't.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Dude, it's a long book.
Ronan
I guess that's true. I don't know why I'm laughing.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Your grandma wrote a book about.
Dana Beers
What are you.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, Polish. What are you.
Ronan
Yeah, I tried to play like the. The card of like. You didn't read a book that your grandma wrote? But then I was like, my grandma lives in the same city as me and we don't see each other.
Francis
So.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, my. My grandparents are incredibly smart and I'm like. Like the dumbest guy.
Francis
No. I was gonna start the episode with this. You're the fakest dumb guy.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm not. I am. I play it up in certain situations, but there I am. I'm pretty dumb.
Francis
Watch any trivia competition?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Sports. Dude, I know sports.
Francis
So what if you have the ability
Ronan
to know all that? You could know a lot of other things.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, probably.
Ronan
But I don't want the ability to like, process information.
Francis
Well, being a smart guy who presents as dumb is infinitely better than being a dumb guy that presents as smart.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, yeah, for sure.
Ronan
That's what I do.
Francis
That's what I do.
Ronan
And it annoys a lot of people.
Francis
Yeah.
Ronan
Presenting smart. But I'm actually.
Francis
It's so nice to. To finally acknowledge that though. Whenever you can.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, like, just like.
Francis
Oh, I'm actually.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I definitely play it up A little bit. Especially with Francis, like in our show, but. But 90 of the time, it's a real me.
Dana Beers
Yeah, people always. That's the thing. Everyone always asks me, is he really that dumb?
Francis
But he's actually smart, athletic and handsome. It's actually annoying.
Dana Beers
Yeah, you are handsome.
Francis
The problem. Athlete.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
The problem is, though, at my peak, I'd be the hottest guy here. My peak was in 2011, though. Like 15 years ago.
Dana Beers
That.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Dude. Dude, it was me and. Me and Timmy Driscoll at Hingham High School. Holy. I was the hottest guy and then I got fat. Now, like, right now, I'm like, I'm 30 pounds away from my peak. But if I'm peak, I'm. Dude, I'm hot. I'm not hot.
Francis
Let's see a picture of you at Chichinga.
Ronan
Oh, no, he got great.
Francis
I'm talking about how hot he is.
Dana Beers
God's way of being like, shut up.
Sponsor Voice
Up.
Sponsor Voice 2
Dana.
Ronan
That's crazy. Yeah, it's a bad one, too. You can tell. His legs vibrating.
Francis
Get it? Push his. Push his toe towards his.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That is.
Dana Beers
I'm not touching that doughy foot of his.
Francis
Breathe into it.
Dana Beers
You need more water, Dana?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, I went on a run last night. That's why.
Dana Beers
Okay, well, I would still say drink more water.
Ronan
I definitely would say more water.
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Ronan
What does that have? Anything. That's more of a reason to drink water. Yeah, I need. You need water? No, I want. On a run yesterday.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, no, when I'm at my hydrated. When I'm at my peak, I'm the hottest guy in this office.
Francis
Couldn't write that.
Dana Beers
No, I just. It's because I sat out in the hot sun all day.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't need.
Ronan
This is.
Dana Beers
Has nothing to do with water.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Exercising.
Dana Beers
That's.
Ronan
Oh, that was one of the craziest things I've ever seen.
Dana Beers
Just. I'm just hung over.
Ronan
And that was what we needed. That might take us to the next level.
Dana Beers
Under quenched.
Ronan
Talking about being at your peak and then getting a Charlie Horse mid sentence.
Francis
Sitting still. Sitting still and getting a three.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh,
Francis
yeah, I can relate. But I need to see the Cha Chingum pictures. I need to see how hot you truly were.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Hot, dude.
Francis
You and who? Charlie who?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Me and Timmy Driscoll.
Francis
Timmy Driscoll.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Now it's Al Pompio. Al Pompio's wrong.
Dana Beers
Charlie Horse. Charlie Horse.
Ronan
You ever go to the Charlie Horse in Plymouth?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, I used to work in Plymouth, but.
Ronan
Great restaurant.
Francis
What'd you work at?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
A little South Shore talk, Dude.
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Ronan
Why not?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
For all our so Shore listeners, we have a lot.
Ronan
It's probably a good amount.
Dana Beers
Harry's from the. The nice part.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, I know, sure. No, I'm not a real Hingham guy. I'm not a real dude. I'm not a real Hingham guy.
Francis
That's what they call it.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's what they call him. Yeah.
Dana Beers
This is the thing.
Ronan
All these guys, they all say deluxe Bear. They're all from Cohasset and Hingham.
Francis
I'm not. Here's the thing, though.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm from the hood, dude. I grew up on Cape Cod,
Ronan
Hyannis
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Sandwich, which is a. I know. It's not the hood.
Dana Beers
I'm kidding.
Ronan
My grandma, that's where my mom's from, is Sandwich.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
All right, so sandwich country store. It's not like, overly nice. And then we moved to hang on.
Ronan
One of the nicest places I've ever been. We used to spend our whole summer.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
The drug capital world, dude. We grew up on the Cape in like a, you know, middle class home. And then my mom remarried to a guy in Hingham, my stepdad, and he. And then we moved from Hingham after four years because, like, we don't fit in here.
Ronan
Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah. So it's like. We're not Hingham people. They're way richer than us. And you're. You're a deluxe dude.
Ronan
Cape. The Cape does have crazy drug problems.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It does, very.
Ronan
Especially that, like, that the general, like Hyannis. Yeah, Hyannis is. Hyannis is worse than like, most like states, like West Virginia.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It's really bad.
Ronan
It's really bad.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
What is it, like heroin?
Ronan
Yeah, everyone's on here.
Francis
You went to school with or in heroin, kids?
Ronan
I went. I didn't go to school in Hyannis, but my. My sister's husband did and my mom did and like, they both have, like, crazy stories about like, teachers getting just carried out midday.
Ad/Promo Voice
What?
Ronan
Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, dude. So next time you want to say to ching them. I'm from the streets, bro.
Ronan
Of Sandwich. Did you ever go to the Dead End?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No.
Dana Beers
The coldest of Hingham.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
My dad still lives in barstool.
Ronan
Barnstable is a great area.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It is.
Dana Beers
You sound really nice.
Francis
All of them, except for Sandwich. No, no, it sounds like ass.
Ronan
No, Sandwich is really nice.
Francis
I know, but they have to rename
Dana Beers
it from the rough parts of uncrustable.
Ronan
Isn't that where that shark attack was where that guy died, like a couple years ago?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Probably.
Francis
I'm from the Cuban part of Sandwich,
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
You know, Sandwiches. Sandwiches.

summer, which means it's time to wear Fabletics. I'm wearing their shorts right now. I absolutely love them. They're lightweight, they're breathable, and they drive pretty quickly, which is really important in summer because I like to do lots of things outside. I go from the golf course to the tennis court to the lake for a swim. I cold plunge. I'm always sweating and I'm wet and I have to be able to take things off and throw new things on all the time. Which is perfect with Fabletics because as I signed up as a new VIP, I got 70 to 80% off of everything.
Dana Beers
It's an unbelievable deal.
Sponsor Voice 2
And I need lots of different outfit changes in summer because I'm constantly outside doing active things. I do more laundry in the summer than at any other time of the year and I'm constantly changing clothes around and that's why I absolutely love Fabletics. Shop@fabletics.com boydad and get 70 to 80% off of everything. When you sign up as a new vip. Be sure to take a quick style quiz and select boy dad because that's how you will unlock that offer. There's a limited time offer, so don't wait. That's fabletics.com boydad for 70 to 80% off of everything. When you sign up as a new
Ronan
vip, would you say. Do you think you like Chicago more than. Than you liked New York or you were. You were always kind of in Jersey though.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I was. I lived in New York for three years and then I went to Jersey for two years and then Long Island. I. I like Chicago. I think there's. The people are nicer just in terms like the actual city.
Ronan
Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Not the people in the offices. It's just. I never love New York. I don't know, I never like. I'm more of a Boston, Massachusetts guy and I never like fit in in New York City, but I feel like it's a little. It's a little cleaner here.
Ronan
Definitely
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
slower paced. I don't even know what that means. No, I would agree.
Ronan
It's definitely worse, but I don't know if I like that about people.
Francis
Walk slower on the sidewalk.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah. I, I never like found like a neighborhood that I loved in New York City. So I don't know, maybe I didn't give it a good chance, but it is.
Francis
There's a lot of neighborhoods. It's like you can't like try living in all the neighborhoods.
Ronan
Yeah.
Francis
You kind of have to Be like, this is my best guess of a neighborhood that might be decent.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, I was wrong.
Francis
It's like, okay, I'll try another one. In one year.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, I was in Astoria, and then I was in West Village, which I didn't hate.
Francis
This is sassy stomping ground.
Ad/Promo Voice
I'm.
Ronan
I was in West Village. Now I'm in Astoria.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Really?
Sponsor Voice
Yeah.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah. And when I was in the story, I lived with a kid and his girlfriend. I've told this story, the Johnny.
Dana Beers
That's okay. We tell a lot of stories. A few times on the Lizard.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
And so I live with this kid that I went to high school with, but I didn't really know him. He was like, just kind of like two years below me and his girlfriend. And then he moved out in the middle of the fucking lease. It was just me and the girl.
Dana Beers
They broke up.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, he just moved to France.
Dana Beers
France?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, it was me and the girl.
Ronan
That's crazy.
Francis
What'd you do?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know. She had a little lizard dude. Remember the lizard?
Dana Beers
Johnny.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Johnny and. I don't know, we just chilled.
Dana Beers
Did you hook up with her? No.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No.
Ronan
Was it.
Dana Beers
You try?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No.
Dana Beers
Why not?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Super nice.
Francis
But, like, it would have been uncomfortable.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Like that.
Francis
That would have been.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
We just didn't really cross paths much. Like, I would get home from work and she'd be. I think she had a weird work schedule, so we just didn't really see each other.
Dana Beers
Was she really sad when the boyfriend left, or did she break up with him?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know. I don't want to be careful what I'm saying here.
Dana Beers
But that's not what this podcast is about.
Ronan
I feel like neither of these people will ever listen to this show, ever.
Francis
The French dude.
Ronan
There's a guy in one in France.
Francis
Sorry.
Ronan
A girlfriend and a girl with a lizard in Astoria. That's not the demographic that we're recording for right now.
Francis
There's no Astoria lizard.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Listen to this show.
Francis
For sure. And that is a demographic.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah. I want to say. I want to say, like, well, cut it.
Ronan
Well, don't go crazy.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, no, no. This isn't. This isn't even crazy. What do you mean this isn't crazy? I want to say, like, there'd be times where there'd be, like, a little bit of sexual. Sexual tension. Or like, maybe I was like, oh, she looks horny. But I don't think that ever actually happened.
Dana Beers
She looks horny.
Ronan
Not even just like I want to her. Like, it's like, she looks like.
Dana Beers
See the swelling of her outer labia through her pants.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't.
Dana Beers
I'm doing something right.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
The more I think of it, I don't think, no, it might have been in my life.
Dana Beers
Seen a woman that looked horny.
Sponsor Voice
God.
Dana Beers
I've. I've suspected this is what through actions and words and. And body language maybe, but never been
Francis
like, whoa, was she rubbing her nipples?
Dana Beers
She come home with a tongue piercing? What are you talking about? Look Torny.
Ronan
My God, she looks horny. Not even like, nothing about you or being like, I'm attracted.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I was probably just horny, dude.
Ronan
Yeah, it sounds like.
Dana Beers
Oh my God, look at her over there begging for it. If I didn't know any better, completely not horny. I'd have to protect myself here.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
There's never any. There's never any like, even close to probably like, touch it. There wasn't even a touch, dude.
Dana Beers
Was it.
Ronan
Was it like. Like, was it weird living with just a girl, though? Like, were you like.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It was at first, but she was super cool, so it was just like. It's kind of chill.
Ronan
Did you guys ever get in like arguments about like, dishes and rent? Rent?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No.
Dana Beers
Who's feeding the lizard?
Ronan
Yeah, can you feed Johnny?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Johnny? No. Johnny. Would she. Crickets, dude, he just. Oh, that's brutal.
Francis
She had to bring home live crickets or would she order them? I don't know. Or would you get them from petsmart?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, she just kind of did her thing with Johnny and that's good.
Ronan
You never even had to see the crickets.
Francis
No. Keeping crickets in your house to feed to your lizard later is barbaric.
Ronan
That have to like, feed their like snakes mouth mice. Yeah, that shit's just. They have like. It's like in the freezer. They just got a bag of mice.
Dana Beers
I fed. I fed my snake live mice.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Really?
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Ronan
Yeah. See that's like.
Dana Beers
That's the best part was the whole reason I had the snake once every
Ronan
two weeks bring up in a box. I don't know if there's anything on the. On the. On earth that I. That I would hate less.
Dana Beers
Oh, it was awesome than that. It was the violence of nature.
Ronan
Yeah.
Dana Beers
And I had a friend.
Ronan
I hate snakes. I fucking hate snakes. Terrify me.
Dana Beers
I would bring. I would have my friends over for feedings.
Ronan
Yeah.
Francis
How often were the feeding?
Dana Beers
Once every two weeks.
Ronan
The snake only eats once every two weeks?
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Francis
How many mice?
Dana Beers
Mice. The mouse was huge, so it would
Francis
eat one big mice every one big mouse every two weeks. Oh, my God.
Ronan
That's.
Dana Beers
That's the mice Weren't that big. They were just. In comparison to the snake's body. It was.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Were they alive?
Sponsor Voice 2
That.
Ronan
Dude, how did you get. How did you get the mice?
Dana Beers
You buy them at the pet store alive?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Ronan
So you went to a pet store to buy a mouse that someone would typically buy as a pet?
Dana Beers
No, they wouldn't buy. Buy these. They wouldn't buy these.
Ronan
That makes sense. I thought you were just going to the pet store and be like, I know they have, like. They have, like, mice and rats as people have.
Francis
But. But I'm saying, like, is it bred differently? Like, you're bred to be food?
Dana Beers
They had some kind of a name for it. Were they dumber, Like a feeder mouse or something? They're just, like, little and they don't matter.
Francis
But that. Not like the big mice that are worthy of a home.
Dana Beers
These mice had no prospects. They weren't like. They weren't athletic. They weren't.
Francis
They're undocumented.
Dana Beers
Firing. They weren't. Yeah, they're like. They're. They didn't know their parents. These were wayward teens who were just
Francis
getting snapped up and put in.
Dana Beers
They rolled out of the system. There wasn't room for them.
Francis
That's like a Mayan, like, sacrifice ritual. Yeah, like, just like, rounding up local people, running around and bringing them for their blood sacrifice.
Dana Beers
Well, if the. If you don't feed the mice to the snake, then the snake dies, and the snake, the. The mouth. The snake needed the live mice. It wouldn't have eaten a dead one.
Ronan
It needs the hunt.
Dana Beers
Yeah. And it was a cons. It was a constrictor. I had a ball python. So you take the mouse, then they're nocturnal, right?
Ronan
Not have been friends.
Dana Beers
Yeah, I know.
Ronan
I hate this. Like, that is like, my worst nightmare.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It sounds. It sounds psycho, dude.
Dana Beers
Well, it was. Here's the thing. My fourth and fifth grade teacher, Bob. Only he was my homeroom guy. So it was like, in his. He was like my guy. So he was also the science teacher, and he would. He had snakes. And every two weeks, they would do the feedings, and we would watch it at school. And I thought that was cool.
Ronan
That makes sense.
Dana Beers
So then I wanted my own snake, and I got a ball python and would go to the pet store and get the mice, and you drop it into the sort of tank, and it's asleep. The mouse, the snake is asleep. It's the middle of the day. But it sort of starts to sense some sort of change in the atmosphere. Meanwhile, the mouse thinks, oh, this is my new Home.
Ronan
Yeah.
Dana Beers
And it starts to explore.
Francis
It's never seen a snake in its life.
Dana Beers
No. And it thinks, okay, this is where I live. Let me check out my newt digs. And it starts to go to the corners and get bolder. Oh, what's that? Cool little rope toy curled up. Maybe that's for me to play on. And now the snake is uncurling, and it's sensing, and the mouse is kind of coming closer, and then all of a sudden, wham. And it wraps all of its coils around its neck in a blink of an eye, by the way, and squeezes the life out of it. And you could see its little paws just twitching, trying to get away.
Ronan
This is insane.
Dana Beers
It's. It's jiu jitsu method of trying to tap out, but it can't. There's no referee. No, this is not Royce Gracie, you know, this is violence 101. And then once it's dead, it starts to swallow it whole. And then you see it pass through its body.
Ronan
Yeah, that's nasty.
Francis
Good God.
Dana Beers
No, the only nasty part was the. Of the. Because then it comes out the other. That was gross. And also, like, when it sheds its skin, that was kind of gross, too.
Ronan
Yeah, that's nasty.
Dana Beers
I don't like it. Yeah, no, it wasn't pellets. It was, like, a gooey mass.
Francis
That's even grosser.
Dana Beers
Yeah. What once was a mouse now is destroyed plasma.
Francis
And that year, you were voted most likely to kill a mouse by hand of a snake.
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Francis
Dana, you gotta.
Ronan
Yeah, I think you gotta go.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I gotta go, boys. That was so much fun. I wish I didn't have to leave.
Francis
Should we. Should we just keep going for a couple minutes? We. We got a couple minutes after. After Daniel.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
See you, fellas.
Dana Beers
That's okay. You can go. Thanks for doing it, man.
Francis
That was a.
Sponsor Voice 2
A.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That was a lot of laughs.
Francis
Yeah. Longer than last time. Still not a full episode, but longer than last time.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I had tears in my eyes. A couple points. Laughing.
Dana Beers
You're a good man. All right.
Francis
See, boys, Check out Dana Francis's series that they have coming up.
Dana Beers
All right.
Francis
Unbelievable stuff. What a week out here.
Dana Beers
Yeah, it's been a fun week.
Francis
What a. What an absolute blitz of a week.
Dana Beers
We work with some really funny, great people. We really do.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
Yeah. That is nice.
Dana Beers
It's just they're never around us.
Ronan
What do you think? What do you think about. What do you think about this flight, Francis?
Francis
You guys are not.
Dana Beers
I'm hoping for the best man. I really am. I'm Just gonna hope for the best.
Francis
Downpour outside.
Dana Beers
We're just gonna try to hope for the best.
Ronan
I just wish that they would. That they would tell us before we go to the airport. Because if we have to go all the way to o' Hare and it gets canceled, well, then we're gonna just
Dana Beers
stay at an airport hotel out there. We're not gonna come back.
Francis
True.
Dana Beers
Unless you want to come back.
Ronan
We still have our rooms is the thing.
Dana Beers
Oh, I forgot about that. Well, that would be convenient. Whatever. We'll figure it out. I'm not worried about it.
Francis
It's pouring outside and Francis was like. Or Frank the tank was like. Do you think there's. There's a poncho or a trash bag in here? Because he was just about to go do his 30,000 steps in the rain, and I got him a trash bag.
Dana Beers
Wait a minute. It is it actually 30, 000 steps.
Francis
Last week he did 30000 steps for three days in a row. Now he's like getting towards 30000 steps.
Dana Beers
Do you know how many steps? 30, 000 steps.
Francis
It's a half marathon. It's over a half marathon every day of walking.
Dana Beers
That is so preposterous. And that amount of water, rain or
Francis
shine, he's getting, getting it in, getting it in.
Dana Beers
Someone's good for him. Man, that's nuts.
Ronan
I've gone on 14 mile hikes and not had 30000 steps at the end of the day.
Dana Beers
I've played 36 holes of walk, not had 30000 steps.
Francis
30, 000 is nuts.
Ronan
Yeah, it's crazy.
Dana Beers
Yeah, maybe it. Maybe I've had 30000 steps. If I've done 36.
Francis
Do you remember what it was going tip to tip of Manhattan. I feel like that was like 60000 or something. Maybe not 42. 42, which is a lot. It's hefty. What are you boys doing over the fourth of July?
Ronan
I'm going to Wyoming. Well, actually, I'm going to Wyoming after
Dana Beers
the fourth of July.
Francis
True. What are you going to do for America's 250th birthday?
Ronan
I. I don't know. To be honest, I got. I got no plans. Probably see some fireworks.
Francis
My plan is to not forget the men who died and gave this life to me.
Ronan
Exactly.
Francis
Francis, are you doing anything?
Dana Beers
I'm doing a Gettysburg reenactment.
Ronan
Oh, very nice. That's actually a great way to, you know, celebrate.
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Francis
Oh, beer's is back.
Dana Beers
Well, unfortunately, the same is true for us.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
What, you don't need me anymore?
Dana Beers
We were on to other things.
Francis
We're talking about what we're doing over the Fourth of July. Surely you have plans to celebrate America's 250th.
Dana Beers
Yeah, we were talking about healthy eating habits. So not for you?
Ronan
You going back to Hingham?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm actually going to good old Cape Cod. Oh, hell yeah. Dude. Let's talk Cape. More cape boys.
Ronan
It's a great, great place to celebrate the 4th. It is unbelievable place.
Dana Beers
Cape Cod. More like cake. Cob. Eating a cake in the form of a cob of corn.
Francis
Cake on the cob, a Cobb salad with cake in it.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
What the is a Cobb salad, by the way?
Dana Beers
It's a delicious salad.
Ronan
Great. Probably my favorite salad.
Dana Beers
It's the most hearty salad, I would say. Usually has a hard boiled egg. Bacon for you.
Ronan
Oh, tomatoes.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
My number nine food.
Dana Beers
Blue cheese crumbles.
Francis
You say that's your number nine food?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Dana Beers
Here we go.
Francis
Is that from big boys club?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's just my number nine food.
Francis
Yeah.
Dana Beers
Can you give us the top ten?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah. Ten is chicken tiki masala. Nine is bacon. Eight is jambalaya. Seven is bagel and cream cheese. Six is spongebob Mac and cheese. Five is French onion soup. Four is pizza. Three is shit. What is three?
Dana Beers
Chinese?
Ad/Promo Voice
No.
Francis
Cheeseburger.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, I don't love cheeseburgers.
Dana Beers
Steak.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Two. I know. Two is buffalo chicken calzone from. From like a Greek style place in Massachusetts. And number one is cinnamon buns. What is number three? Chicken parm.
Sponsor Voice 2
Yeah.
Dana Beers
Wow. What an unbelievable list.
Sponsor Voice
Good for you.
Francis
And that's. That's public knowledge.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That's off the top.
Ronan
You guys ever have a buffalo chicken calzone from Massachusetts, bro?
Dana Beers
I actually have.
Ronan
They're phenomenal.
Dana Beers
I actually have. We had a.
Sponsor Voice 2
A.
Dana Beers
There was a great pizza place.
Francis
What do you mean? From Massachusetts?
Ronan
Like the Greek.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Greek style, like the New York style is they put like rad cheese in it. Get that out of here. Yeah, it's.
Francis
It's.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know how to explain it, but that is. No, it's just mozzarella on top. You put the ingredients inside. It's basically like a.
Ronan
It's like a sub.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It's like a pizza, like, sub.
Francis
Interesting.
Ronan
Yeah, it's so good.
Francis
What makes it Greek and what makes it like New England style?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know.
Francis
I don't know.
Ronan
I know is that there was one. There was like two pizza places in my town growing up, and one of them was a Greek pizza place. And we used to get buffalo chicken calzones from there, like, every day.
Dana Beers
There was an amazing pizza place up up by the quad in Cambridge that we would order from. And I can't remember. Maybe it was. Maybe it was in Somerville.
Ronan
Regina's? No, Geno's.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It's kind of like a roll in New York, you know?
Francis
Oh, like a pepperoni roll.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, it's kind of like that where
Francis
it's all baked in, but it's like a smaller part of the pizz. Yeah, that's like, cooked in a pizza oven.
Ronan
Yep, exactly.
Francis
It is.
Ronan
It is like that. It's.
Francis
That's your number three. Cinnamon buns are so good, too.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
If you get a good bun, I
Francis
mean, Cinnabon is good.
Dana Beers
Cinnabon's the unbelievable.
Francis
Yeah, Cinnabon is really good. Even from the Cinnabon trucks, which are, like, a problem in New York. The Cinnabon trucks, I've never seen them. They're. Every once you get. Once you start seeing them, you won't stop. Really? They're everywhere.
Dana Beers
Are you talking about that from the chain?
Francis
Yes, but it's like Cinnabon trucks, they'll just post up somewhere, and there's just like, tons of them.
Dana Beers
I've never seen that in my life. Here's one in Dumbo on.
Francis
On Washington street every Saturday and Sunday, parked right by the aloe.
Ronan
Have you ever seen the episode of Louis where he's getting this cinnamon, cinnamon? And he's. And they're like. The lady's like, what do you want for, like, your icing? Like, we can give you, like, one pump, two pumps, and if you pay $5, like, you can just put your mouth under the pump, and we'll just hold it down. And he'. Like, I guess I'll do the third one. And she's like, I was kidding. We don't. We don't do that.
Dana Beers
Who was it he. Who had the. The standup bit about getting Cabon? He called it a landed when he landed at the airport. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what it is. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ronan
He's got a new special coming out on Netflix.
Francis
I heard it's dark.
Ronan
I saw the trailer, like, looked. It looked funny.
Francis
As good as Hinchcliff's?
Ronan
It might. Might be.
Francis
I guess we'll never know.
Ronan
We'll never know.
Francis
Damn. A nice cinnamon bun. There are trash cinnamon buns, but anything about. Anytime you get to the center of a cinnamon bun.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Oh, my God.
Francis
My cinnamon bun intake has gone up so much since having kids, and I. Because it's just. I buy One under the guise of sharing it with them. But then I just. I take the best parts for myself.
Dana Beers
It's the. It's the artichoke heart of cholesterol.
Francis
It really is.
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Francis
So nice.
Ronan
I think my favorite food is shrimp cocktail.
Francis
Airy shrimp cocktail.
Ronan
Yeah, exactly. It's just so good.
Francis
It's like. It's interesting because it's like there's nothing to it.
Dana Beers
Well, the.
Ronan
It's the sauce.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
It's the.
Ronan
The shrimp.
Dana Beers
It's just perfect.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm gonna be honest with you. That's a shitty number one food.
Ronan
No, no, no, no.
Francis
It is. There's nothing to it. It's not, like, prepared a certain way. There's nothing.
Ronan
I like the sauce, and I like shrimp.
Dana Beers
You know what mine is?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
What if there was no sauce?
Ronan
Then, no.
Dana Beers
Okay.
Ronan
I still like shrimp, but it wouldn't be my number one.
Dana Beers
I think mine. Mine is quinoa.
Ronan
Sorry.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't know why.
Dana Beers
That's okay. I say things like that to you all the time. No, sorry.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That was me.
Dana Beers
You don't have to apologize.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah, but I'm not. I don't usually do that, too. What do you mean? Caught up in the podcast?
Francis
This is international.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't usually. You call. I've never called you a. That's for sure. Hilarious.
Sponsor Voice 2
He. He.
Dana Beers
He says it's grain bowls that I eat, but that's usually what the quinoa is in. Bird seed. He calls it. Calls it bird seed.
Francis
What's your favorite food?
Dana Beers
Strawberry rhubarb pie.
Ronan
It's a solid pick.
Dana Beers
I'm a big pie guy.
Francis
We kind of got a strawberry rhubarb thing the other night.
Dana Beers
We did? Yeah.
Francis
And you didn't order that. I ordered that. I know you got a cheesecake.
Dana Beers
I just don't. I don't assume that anyone else likes rhubarb as much as I do. I think it's a root. It's this long red stalk that's. You can't eat it unless you cook it and add a ton of sugar. It's also poisonous to dogs. Did you know that?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No, I didn't.
Francis
Yeah, it's good to know. I'm scared to give my dog anything.
Dana Beers
I think it's poisonous. The dogs, the leaves. Now, I'm not sure, but something like that.
Ad/Promo Voice
That.
Dana Beers
Yeah. We have a bunch growing on our property in Maine.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Nice.
Francis
You got to get up to Maine and try his barb.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I. I. As a New Englander, I've never been to Maine.
Dana Beers
I named my dog Rhubarb.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Really?
Dana Beers
Ruby for short.
Ronan
Wow.
Dana Beers
And then she was taken in the divorce, so now I don't think about her. This makes me too sad.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
How. How was that? I'm sorry? Not the divorce, specifically. The dog park part.
Francis
Huh.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
How was that?
Dana Beers
Losing the dog?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I'm not trying to be funny.
Ronan
No.
Dana Beers
In truth, I'm being ridiculous. I could. I let my ex wife have the dog and, and she wanted her. Because I can't. Look, I can't have a dog by myself. I travel endlessly for work.
Ronan
Yeah, that's true.
Francis
How was that?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I didn't mean the dog.
Francis
How he's getting divorced. Is that good?
Ronan
Oh, I meant to ask you about that. Two years later.
Francis
Is that fun?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Yeah.
Francis
Yeah.
Dana Beers
All right.
Francis
Legal Zoom is calling me. The fuck could Legal Zoom want with me?
Ronan
Who knows?
Francis
The last thing I need is a Legal Zoom on my ass, bro. Do you feel like you should I. Can I spray this yet?
Ronan
No, no, it reeks. You don't still smell it? No, all I can smell is that.
Dana Beers
I'm sure that's a sponsor.
Ronan
No, I'm saying it reeks. As in it not in a bad way. I'm saying all I can.
Dana Beers
I don't think anything has ever reeked.
Ronan
Well, I guess.
Dana Beers
Boy, what are you cooking? It reeks in here.
Ronan
Yeah, I guess.
Dana Beers
The love and cheese.
Ronan
It smells very potent is what I meant. As in I think all you need is one to two sprays.
Francis
Don't wave it on me.
Sponsor Voice
Why?
Ronan
I don't want it. Your sponsor. It's not my sponsor.
Francis
I have enough.
Dana Beers
Do you ever think about getting a food sponsor?
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I would, I would love. Our podcast has a couple.
Dana Beers
But no, I mean in like the AA sense. Someone that you can kind of. Someone to hold you accountable, to keep you honest. I mean, who's been through what you've.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
That was a thing? Yeah. Like.
Dana Beers
Oh, I'm sure there is. Eaters Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I, I. Yeah. Eat too much. Francis. I don't want to tell you, dude.
Dana Beers
Well, I'll be your sponsor.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I don't want to eat your though.
Ronan
Yeah, it's true.
Francis
Francis eats pretty good.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
I know he does. What's the fun of that?
Dana Beers
No, I mean, like, he's fun fun, not just healthy.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
No. I went to dinner with you in Chicago two months ago.
Dana Beers
That was really fun.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
One of the best dinners I've ever had. And it's things I would never. Order. Order.
Dana Beers
There you go.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
And it was all wonderful food.
Dana Beers
Yeah.
Ronan
Yeah, that's what it was when we went. We went out. I literally didn't know what I was looking at on the menu.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Like, fish.
Ronan
It's a lot of, like, different fish. Not the standard fish, red fish, fish.
Dana Beers
It's like, the stuff called fish that we had.
Francis
This rare, ancient food that is in the Bible.
Ronan
It's fish that you've never seen or heard of ever.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Sea bass and.
Ronan
Yeah.
Francis
Oh, no, that's another common one.
Ronan
Yeah, you're almost there there. You've got the right idea.
Dana Beers
We had. We had unusual fish, red fish, one
Ronan
fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish, cod, Sam salmon. The that was on the menu of the place that we went was, like, deep sea.
Dana Beers
I've never heard of any of it.
Ronan
Yeah, like, that's not here.
Dana Beers
Yeah, it's cool.
Ronan
It was cool.
Dana Beers
We have to go.
Ronan
Yeah, we got to get going.
Francis
Okay. Good luck, boys.
Dana Beers
Thank you, Dana. Thanks, Dana.
Guest (possibly Frank or Frank the Tank)
Thanks, guys.

This episode of Son of a Boy Dad brings Dana Beers to the mic for a free-flowing, relentlessly self-deprecating, and delightfully irreverent conversation. Broadcasting from Chicago, the crew reminisces about the early days of the show, explores themes of anxiety, masculinity, and absurd life goals, and delivers comic takes on everything from catching foul balls to feeding snakes live mice. The recurring focus is on navigating adulthood and building identity, often through the lens of vulnerability, wrestling with self-image, and—naturally—food.

This episode is classic Barstool: fast-paced, irreverent, and full of smart stupidity. Beneath the jokes about sex, sports, and food, the hosts probe topics about vulnerability, self-image, and masculinity in modern life. There’s a constant undercurrent of self-awareness—about their content, roles, and personas—which brings a meta, almost confessional vibe. The humor remains sharp, sometimes dark, never shying away from the uncomfortable.
Fans and newcomers alike will find this episode a perfect snapshot of Son of a Boy Dad’s blend of humor, life advice (satirical as it may be), and bromantic chaos.
