Finding myself with fuses blown and a broadcast deadline fast approaching… as the Israeli war on the people of Gaza builds a macabre momentum, with Western Governments standing proudly by as Israel methodically executes textbook war crimes and crimes against humanity…… I ask myself, “what should this artist do”. The scale of events in Palestine have temporarily blown my fuses. Source

Hello, good evening. It’s Sunday night. This is me, Simon Tyszko, and this is Isotopica here on Resonance 104.4 FM. This week’s programme faces towards Gaza, the unspeakable, the unimaginable, but the reality of what’s happening day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute. I could approach this programme, reading lists of numbers, statistics, details of horrors, yet I’m sure… Source

I present these remixed archive programs as imageless witness, in which our imaginations may fill in the ‘unimaginable’ forms. They comprise a series of live streams recorded from Gaza over the past several years, focusing on the sounds of armed surveillance drones known as zanana (buzzing or noise), which hover day and night over the captive Palestinians. We also hear harrowing testament… Source

Lacuna, blank space, Silent void of the unknown, Whispers yet untold. I don’t care what the people might say, people might say I’m gonna keep all love, I love this way, love this way I don’t care what the people might say, people might say I’m gonna keep all love, I love this way I don’t care what the people might say, people might say I’m gonna keep all love, I love this way… Source

Isotopica this week was recorded just three days ago (27th. May 2022) in a (secret) Berlin park. Simon Tyszko was in conversation with comPoser Elo Masing, accompanied by some songs from Berlin’s legendary visiting nightingales, in this walking field recording. Source

In this episode we meet death and death falls in love with us, and despite her parent’s plans Grazia also falls for Death, and Death falls for Grazia, her fiancé get’s confused and perhaps we find ourselves in a love hexagon…. or some other equally complex shape. Source

An engaged post-human episode today, flowing naturally from our recent cross-species collaborations with Elo Masing and her avian friends, ‘Kakaduu,’ in Berlin. These explorations have deepened our sensitivity to the beings around us—how long we have lived in the dark! They’ve awakened us to the possibilities of direct engagement through sound, without words, with the non-human world. Source
