This episode is straight Miami energy: we talk about the insane arctic weather hitting the Midwest/Northeast (and how we “complain” about 40s like we’re built different 😅), then we get into one of the wildest stories we’ve seen lately…

Host 2
Good morning, Buenadas. Welcome back to another episode of Cafecito y Croquetas brought to you by H and Co. And stay tranquilo. Feliz Monday, brother.
Host 1
Feliz Monday. Man, it's, it's been a little while, bro. It's been a little while since the boys have been on the set, man.
Host 2
Yeah, been a minute.
Host 1
I'm excited to chop it up. You know, talk, talk, you know, talk what's going on in the world. Talk what's going on in Miami. But hey, man, it's a happy Monday.
Host 2
Yes, that it is a great Monday. A lot of good things going on. But one thing that's great down here in Miami is the weather right now.
Host 1
Weather is getting, is amazing. It's gonna get, it's gonna get a little chilly. It's gonna teeter with that light of not.
Host 2
We can't even, we can't even. We can't even talk about Chile.
Host 1
No, no, we can't, we can't. We can't be selfish, you know, we can't, we can't complain too much. I mean, those poor people anywhere outside of Florida, they're just going through the most like insane weather, Arctic storm imaginable. So, you know, prayers out to them, you know, dealing with all the ice, you know, the slick roads, all that, you know, they're canceling school out there. So we're very blessed to be in Miami where it's still warm.
Host 2
Yesterday I was in, in, you know, a little button down, Hawaiian shirt, shorts, sunglasses on.
Host 1
Yeah, yeah.
Host 2
Sipping a margarita.
Host 1
It's gonna, it's gonna be like a, a continuous kind of fall in temperature. And then by the time this weekend we're going to be in the 40s know, waking up, so it's going to.
Host 2
Be cold for us.
Host 1
It's going to be. What is it? Bonfire weather, we like to call it. It's a little bonfire s' mores weather.
Host 2
Yeah, I mean we don't get much of it, so. Bro, we're going to, we're going to soak it all in. But yeah, it is crazy what's going on there. I saw a stat that I think it was on Friday or Saturday that it was colder in Chicago than it was in Antarctica that day.
Host 1
Dude, I think Chicago, like the lake.
Host 2
The lake is frozen. No, it's frozen. It's completely frozen.
Host 1
It's completely frozen now.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Like it's crazy.
Host 2
It look, it literally looked like Antarctica. Like just like little glaciers of ice and stuff.
Host 1
I mean crazy. It is crazy. Like this Arctic storm that's going through there. And like Chicago's only like. You talk about Philadelphia. New York. Yeah. I mean when we went to New York recently, we got a little bit of snow and I was like, oh my God, the icy roads. I mean, what it, what it must be now? One of my boys, way worse.
Host 2
Way worse.
Host 1
One of my boys picked this week. I mean it's not his fault, but he picked this week to move to New York. Imagine moving to New York from like south Florida and this being the week.
Host 2
Well, I guess decide to make the move. Like it can't get worse, right?
Host 1
So it's like you get out of the way, right? You're like, this is, is this as bad as it's going to get, right? Cuz I mean there's some places that they're waking up like in negative like 20 degree.
Host 2
Yeah. Minnesota, I think wind chill wise was like minus 45 or something like that.
Host 1
Like Minnesota.
Host 2
Minnesota.
Host 1
Minnesota. Slang.
Host 2
Minnesota. No, bro.
Host 1
Like it's like to be in negative temperatures. Like I can't even imagine. Like I wouldn't even.
Host 2
I did it. I did it.
Host 1
I wouldn't leave the house, dude. Like why, why would you force anyone to leave the house in negative 30 degree weather?
Host 2
It's not safe. I mean there's that.
Host 1
No, it's not safe. Like your. Our poor south Florida lungs will pull money. They'll be freezing. Like some. I think some guy like went outside. He started coughing right away. He's like, I can't do this. Yeah, I'm gonna call out. Yeah, like some places like aren't closing. Like if it's, if it's safe to drive. Like no one's closing down. Like they're. It's open for business.
Host 2
Absolutely not. Yeah, I mean I remember when we did Kansas City for The Dolphins game, know, a couple years ago, it was like, I think real temperature was like 2 degrees, but the real fuel temperature was minus 23.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
And it was insane. Like, any water or liquid that we had would immediately freeze. Not like progressively freeze. I'm talking about you're taking out of a 32 degree cooler. Right. And by the time it comes out, it just turned immediately to ice. It's insane. It's insane. And, like, I remember by the end of that, my. My shoes, you know, everything was warm. I had my layers on. I think I had like eight layers on top, four layers on the bottom. Double sock. I put the hand warmers, you know, in my gloves, and then I put the hand warmers in my feet, which was apparently a bad idea because what started happening was the heat creates moisture, so I sweat a little bit, but it's so cold out that you actually can get frostbite from that because the moisture starts to freeze. And then your. Your toast basically become ice.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
And I remember in the fourth quarter of that game, I genuinely could not feel my toes. Not even a little bit.
Host 1
Like, you started getting worried.
Host 2
I was getting worried. I was getting worried, bro. Sinpena. I took off my shoes in the Uber, because we took an Uber back to the hotel, turn that heat all the way up and put my feet on.
Host 1
The price smelled so bad.
Host 2
No, it didn't smell because they can't smell because there's no. There's like, they were. Ice were legit. And then I think 32 people were hospitalized in that game.
Host 1
Yeah, I mean, like, some people, like, pass away from, like, the cold or something.
Host 2
I don't. I mean, it's definitely possible. I don't know if anyone passed away from that game, but I do know, like, 30 people were hospitalized during that game.
Host 1
It's crazy. It's crazy weather. So, I mean, stay warm for those people out there.
Host 2
Come down to Miami.
Host 1
Any of our listeners out there in.
Host 2
The Northeast, come down in Miami.
Host 1
In the. In Central America, you know, in the. In the Midwest, you know, stay warm. Stay.
Host 2
Central America would be like Costa Rica.
Host 1
I know.
Host 2
Yeah. The middle of America. Midwest.
Host 1
Middle East, Central America. I mean, technically, it's the central region.
Host 2
The central United States.
Host 1
The Central United States. Central America. I'm like, I don't think they're cold down there right now.
Host 2
No, they're definitely not.
Host 1
I think. I think they're like, we want it to be cold. Yeah, they're probably hot right now.
Host 2
Well, not Central America, but South America could get cold. Yeah, South America Argentina, Chile.
Host 1
It can. But, like, this time was like their summertime.
Host 2
Yeah. They're opposite.
Host 1
They're the opposite side of the equator. Yeah, but not. Man, just stay warm. Layer up. I mean, like I said, I. I wouldn't even, like, imagine having to be in there. I wouldn't do it willingly, and I. I don't want to experience that.
Host 2
The reason why everybody wants to come here during this time of the year.
Host 1
It's true.
Host 2
This is the cold. Like, January, February is the. Obviously, it starts getting cold, like November, December. But January, February are the two coldest months of the year. And then by March, April, things start kind of turning the corner, and then people start heading back home and starting back home. But. But this is the. Like, if there's anywhere to be right now, it's here. Like. Like, we were looking Key West. It won't even break, like, 55.
Host 1
All the snowbirds are in Key west right now. All the snowbirds are out there.
Host 2
I would be there, too.
Host 1
I don't blame them.
Host 2
I don't blame them.
Host 1
I don't blame them. Listen, guys, we have. We don't have a lot of heaters out here because we don't need one. Hang out, you know, get some. Get some warmth, you know? Yeah. Get some hot coffee, some cafecito to warm yourself up.
Host 2
And that's the damn truth.
Host 1
You're back and you're good.
Host 2
Yeah. So stay warm. If you're up there in the Midwest, Northeast, Central America. Central America. And we'll. We'll be nice and warm down here, even if it's a cold front in Miami. Yeah, but what else we got? In other news today, I think we got a. A priest. Dj.
Host 1
Dude, there's DJ Papa. I don't think that's his name. Oh, I think he's. I think he just goes by DJ Priest.
Host 2
Nah, there's no way. He's got.
Host 1
I don't know what his name is, but he's a Portuguese priest that became very popular. He started doing some DJing, and the guy.
Host 2
He's Portuguese. I don't know how you pronounce that.
Host 1
He is. He is DJ Priest. Guillerme. Yeah. No, his name is DJ Priest.
Host 2
Priest. Dj. Yeah.
Host 1
He'S Portuguese. You know, he started. And he's a raver, man. He's. He's a. I think he does it for the cause. He does it to, like, I guess, you know, raise awareness.
Host 2
You know, smart. You know, you want to reach the. The youth.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
You know, in the future of Catholicism. Right. That's, I guess, a Good way to do it.
Host 1
But I mean, look, he's doing like raves outside cathedrals and stuff.
Host 2
Oh, that's him.
Host 1
That's him. That's DJ Priest.
Host 2
Yeah, yeah, I've seen him. I didn't know it was an actual priest that was doing that.
Host 1
Yeah, bro, it's an actual priest. And he had the new pope give a message before his reign. And like, one of his visuals is.
Host 2
I saw that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Host 1
So.
Host 2
Oh, damn. I didn't know that was him.
Host 1
He's reaching a hell of a audience right now and he's, he's killing it, dude. He's become very popular in the EDM world. I mean, listen, dude, like, nothing really surprises me anymore of people that do stuff like, yeah, a priest. Being a DJ is like the most normal thing probably.
Host 2
I mean, considering.
Host 1
Yeah, considering everything else going on. Yeah, like DJ Papa, man. Go out there, have some fun.
Host 2
It's great. You wanna, you wanna use a platform right through the course of music. DJing and like, the EDM world is huge right now, so why not use that, you know, to preach. To preach.
Host 1
Me personally, I'm not a raver. But Listen, man, if DJ Priest is.
Host 2
Dude, I think he's got 3 million followers on Instagram.
Host 1
Yeah, 2.7, something like that.
Host 2
He's getting big gigs.
Host 1
Dude, I'll go watch DJ Priest just to be like, I want to see what this is.
Host 2
Like, I wonder if he's going to make it to ultra in Miami.
Host 1
It's a holy rave. Could you imagine a holy rave?
Host 2
I mean, it's a thing, It's a thing.
Host 1
It's a holy rave. Listen, for all people that, you know, go to churches and stuff, you want to get a little holy and, you know, be, do a little head banging while you're praising the Lord.
Host 2
It works, it, it clearly works and people are showing up. So, I mean, shout out to him. It's a pretty epic, it's super cool way to approach things, I guess, right?
Host 1
He's been coming over my feet and I'm like, dude, this is cool.
Host 2
But I think I, I, the video that you just showed me, I've seen that.
Host 1
That one of the cathedrals.
Host 2
Yeah, Yeah. I didn't know that that was an action. I just thought it was like a dj, you know, doing, doing his thing to like preach a little bit. But I didn't realize that the person that was a DJ was a priest.
Host 1
And I think he does DJing gigs for a lot of like, I, I guess you call like a lot of like, like Unity concerts, like fundraising concerts, like for you know, the world and stuff like that. So I think he doesn't do like DJs, like DJing gigs for like, you know, I don't know if he's on Ultra or like those big brains like that. He might, but I mean for anything like unity wise and like, you know, spreading the word, I mean, I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to have, you know, you reach a whole new audience of people.
Host 2
And can you imagine if he went.
Host 1
To space, Some person would just, I think like only indeed I'd posted something, it was like, send him to space.
Host 2
That would be insane.
Host 1
Send him to space. Imagine going to church and then afterwards going seeing DJ Priest at like 3 Sunday. Or you go to see DJ Priest in the morning and then right after.
Host 2
Church, after you go to church. What a Sunday.
Host 1
What a lineup.
Host 2
What a lineup.
Host 1
And then you go get brunch.
Host 2
Yeah, that'd be nuts. That'd be nuts. I mean, good for him, man. Yeah, I'm all for that. I'm all for that.
Host 1
And you can do anything in this world, bro. You really could.
Host 2
You really could.
Host 1
And bro, in this day and age where there's so many opportunities to reach the masses and you got to get.
Host 2
Creative with it at the end of the day, I mean that's really, that's really kind of the approach, right? It's like he's not necessarily reinventing the wheel of like being a priest, right? But he's reinventing the wheel of like.
Host 1
How he apparently was always into DJing.
Host 2
That's what I'm curious, like how did he even learn to do?
Host 1
Apparently that's, that's always been like a.
Host 2
Thing, that's his thing.
Host 1
That was like a hobby of his that he's always, I mean from what I've read right in the comments, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed like this is just something he'd always done. And I guess he started doing concerts and stuff. Like obviously in Portugal, he probably started locally and you know, people are like, whoa, what the heck? Like, and the masses started coming, you know, obviously social media is crazy. So you see, you know, imagine in Europe like, hey, rave outside of cathedral. And the, the priest.
Host 2
Yeah, exactly. The concept of the fact that the DJ is a priest, everyone's like, wait, what? Like, is this real?
Host 1
At first it was probably like the, the, the, the, it was like an intrigue to like, okay, like, I want to see this. And then it's like, oh crap, he's kind of Good. And now it's like, dude, yeah. Bring out like hundreds of thousands of people to come listen to your music.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
But apparently this is something he had always done and just by, I guess, by, I guess him doing it. And then he just got like everything. Like I said, it takes one gig to blow up and someone recorded him. And you know, you see on Insta a priest dj. I mean, who's not going to want to get behind that?
Host 2
Good for him, man. Shout Out. What was the name? Priest. Guillermo G. Edmond. Shout Out. Priest Guillermi.
Host 1
But DJ Priest is his name. I don't know what his official name is, but it seems like it's just DJ Priest. Let me see.
Host 2
I'm gonna pull him up here on Instagram really quick.
Host 1
Shout Out.
Host 2
DJP release. We want an unarmed record label and everything too.
Host 1
Like the guy.
Host 2
Huge. He's huge.
Host 1
DJ Guillerme, if you're listening to this brother, come on to the show.
Host 2
It looks like a legit like. Like, it looks like space.
Host 1
It's a rave. It's a full race. It's full on Edmund.
Host 2
What a vibe, dude. What in the hell, dude, He's a full on raver. He's hip too. I like his glasses.
Host 1
Look at them. And he does DJing in his official regalia.
Host 2
That's awesome. Wow, wow, wow, wow. Good for him, bro.
Host 1
It's cool.
Host 2
It's sick. That is actually sick as hell.
Host 1
I would love to have him on the show.
Host 2
Dude, that would be electric. Are you kidding me? Where does he. So he lives in Portugal full time.
Host 1
I feel like he. He does. He's a priest in Portugal.
Host 2
He would kill it down here in Miami.
Host 1
I'm sure now he does a lot of traveling games. Yeah.
Host 2
Y.
Host 1
So, like, I wouldn't be surprised if.
Host 2
We ever see Miami. We got to get him on the pod.
Host 1
He's probably going to be in Spain, Ibiza. I'm sure he's going to make his way down here at one point or the other. I mean, Miami is like one of the EDM capitals of the world. Especially now. Just rising.
Host 2
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's like a perfect fit for Miami.
Host 1
I don't see why he wouldn't make his way down here.
Host 2
Oh, maybe. Maybe we get him here for F1, dude.
Host 1
And get him on the show.
Host 2
Yeah, yeah.
Host 1
Do a rave at the studio.
Host 2
That would be crazy.
Host 1
Dj.
Host 2
We can put him up there on the loft.
Host 1
On the loft on the left, dude. We can draw a crowd.
Host 2
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Host 1
The landlords won't be happy.
Host 2
They're like, nah, if it's a priest, I feel like it's fair game.
Host 1
You can't say no to a priest.
Host 2
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Host 1
Can't say no to papa.
Host 2
We'll do it on a Sunday, too.
Host 1
Do it on a Sunday.
Host 2
I think we're on to something.
Host 1
Sunday service.
Host 2
Yeah, I like it.
Host 1
I think Kanye has the rights. He does, but essentially the same idea. Sunday service.
Host 2
Sick. Sick. Shout out.
Host 1
And then we also had the Miami Marathon this past week.
Host 2
Yes, Miami marathon was this past weekend. Shout out to all the runners here in Miami.
Host 1
I mean, you guys half marathon runners. The full marathon runners.
Host 2
Respectable. Respectable. Obviously the full is a different monster. But even the half, I mean, shout out that. I mean, it's, it's, you know, you're putting, you're putting your body out there, you're training for it.
Host 1
It's hot and like it's something. I mean, we're, we're talking accomplishment. Yeah, we were talking before. I mean, running has just become like this new craze in Miami of a way to get fit. And you know, you talk about the run clubs and how well in this community as grown, we talk about all the time and, you know, the Miami Marathon has become, you know, a staple event. You know, shout out our boy Frankie, you know, putting that together. Shout out our boy over there. You know, another kick ass event. You know, probably more runners than last year. You know, more people running and getting into fitness because of it. But, you know, it's cool to see, like, how, you know, people have like these cheering sections as they're running and it's following them and they're running with them.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
And like my friend that said it, like along the way, people are handing out like candy and everything, bro.
Host 2
There's people passing out beers, dude, like.
Host 1
They'Re just, they're just like, dude, like they make it into a party, you.
Host 2
Know, I mean, dude, all these people.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Average, you know, person is probably running the half. Like two, two and a half.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
You know, you'd say some, obviously people quicker, some people a little bit slower than that. But at the end of the day, like, you're out there by yourself, right? So you need that extra motivation, you know, to push you. And, you know, you might be running with a partner, you know, a little group that you put together to do it. But there's just something about, like having those people on the side of the streets, like, cheering you on with the posters, throwing you candy, throwing a beer, like it get. It gets you going.
Host 1
You like, I can definitely. And like we're out. Like funny enough we were talking about this like it's tough to like while you're running. Obviously they talk about like the runner side. But imagine driving down a straight road for two hours, right. Of how like I guess like you just kind of like start like getting bored in a sense. Like you're just like. How do you kind of keep your focus for like two hours straight just running non stop and like you're trying to.
Host 2
Obviously music can only do so much. You know, podcast. If some people listen to podcasts, I don't know how that can keep you going.
Host 1
Like at one point you want to focus on like I'm sure at some point they start to hurt. Like there's no chance like you're not hurting at one point. Like maybe towards the end like obviously, you know, you're probably. Your, your feet probably start to hurt. Obviously just like overall just like fatigue. Fatigue kicks in. So like. And then you're just running it just.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
I don't know what the, what the layout of the race is like and like where they go through.
Host 2
They go. You know, they start there in downtown and then the route kind of runs depending. It'll go for like the half it went through Miami beach. So you run all the way through Miami beach and then you do the loop until you get basically right back around to. To back.
Host 1
You know, that's a half. So like to imagine doing a full mar.
Host 2
You're doing all that plus then you're running it through the grove, I believe. I mean it's a beautiful run, right? Yeah, it's a beautiful run but like scenic. It's a little hot. Obviously depending. This year was probably warmer than some previous years.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
But I, I would assume the runners probably prefer a little bit of that heat rather than the cold. Because it's not fun running in cold.
Host 1
No.
Host 2
Especially when you're not used to it and it hurts.
Host 1
Like when you and I used to.
Host 2
Play ball and like you don't want rain or.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Anything.
Host 1
Like when you used to play. When you're like for anyone that played sports like in Miami and like those cold fronts.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
The cold and you have to do like those 5am like your lung sting.
Host 2
Yeah, exactly.
Host 1
You're to get the body going takes a little bit longer and like you know, everything just takes a little bit longer. But I mean it's, it's. It's really is just an amazing feat. Just like I'm sure people just do it, like, just to say you did.
Host 2
It's an accomplishment. You feel. You feel the reward, you know, of completing something like that, and you dedicated a lot of time and energy preparing for that, right? The training, all that. So that when you do get to that point of race day, you're like, okay, like, let's do this. And then you could say, you know, check it off the box that you.
Host 1
Did me ask you this. Is it more of a mental accomplishment or a physical accomplishment to run a marathon?
Host 2
I mean, listen, I've never done a marathon, so I. I can't speak from, you know, experience, but I would say it's definitely more mental than anything, right? Because you are devoting so much to time here. You're alone in your head. You're. You know, you're. You're having to push yourself past limits that you're probably not used to. So I would say more mentally, because I think physically you can train right? So you can get to the point physically to get yourself to do it right. But can you get this into a place to be able to, like, convince yourself and push yourself past those limits, to be able to do it right? Because you are by yourself in your head, right? It's not like you got. Although there's people around you and, you know, they're motivating you.
Commercial Voice
You.
Host 2
I would say that it's probably more of, like, a mental accomplishment more than anything.
Host 1
There's got to be, like, a real level of Zen to just, like.
Host 2
That's what that runner's like, really, is.
Host 1
To just lock in.
Host 2
I remember when I was training for the half last year, you know, it would be. You know, you're running for an hour, hour and a half, right? And event like the beginning, I feel like, is always the toughest. You're like, I got to do this, you know, and just starting now, the first mile in, I got nine more to go, right? But once you kind of get into that groove, then it's just like you. Your body does kind of start hitting, like, this adrenaline that you're just like, one foot after the other, one foot after the other, one foot after the other. And then your body just kind of. Or your mind just kind of comes numb, and you're just in the motion, and it's just. It's not like Survivor or survival, Right. But it is an aspect of that because at that point, you're just, like, trying not to think about it.
Host 1
Yeah. Do you kind of, like, almost, like, black out in a sense a little bit?
Host 2
I would say there's Definitely. I, like, I definitely experienced runner high.
Host 1
It's.
Host 2
It's nice. It feels good.
Host 1
Like, do you even, like, remember the run in that runner side?
Host 2
Yeah, you remember it, but, like, you don't remember. Like, what were you really thinking during that time? Like, that, I would say, is the thing that you kind of black out. You're very aware, obviously, of. Of your surroundings and that obviously, that you're running. But I would say everything else, like, mentally, like, you're not thinking about anything else.
Host 1
Yeah, it's kind of like, I don't know if this ever happened to you. Like, you're in your car. You're just so locked into the drive that you're like, how did I get home?
Host 2
Yeah, that's definitely happened to me, dude.
Host 1
It's the trippiest thing. Did I, like, take red lights the last 15 minutes?
Host 2
I could have ran over somebody. I could have taken three stop signs and, like, not even had a driver's.
Host 1
High is a thing, dude. Yeah. Especially, like, late when you're getting back home, you're seeing traffic, you're like, yeah, you're like, how long I've been in the car for? Like, how do I get home?
Host 2
I think also when you're. When you're taking, like, the same route over and over again, your subconscious kind of takes over. So, yeah, you just. You just know. You react to red lights. You know exactly when you're gonna need to stop. Like, everything else kind of becomes so automatic to you. Something drastic on the street would have to happen for you.
Host 1
When I used to work in the gables, like, I would get on my car, and obviously you remember the little bit then, like, I'm turning in, and I'm like, was that not on The Gables, like, 30 seconds ago? And it's, like, crazy.
Host 2
That's definitely.
Host 1
So I can probably, like. Like, that's probably like, probably the closest thing. The closest thing. I guess the closest thing ever experienced is like, a lifting high where you're, like, lifting a weight, and, like, you put, like, a ton of weight on your back and, like, kind of black out. Like, those three seconds from the time you go down and up, and you're just like, did I get it up? And you just. You just. The last thing, you just kind of come back when you put the bar.
Host 2
Back, like, yeah, yeah.
Host 1
And you just kind of like, people black out from lifting and stuff.
Host 2
Oh, for sure. For sure. I think your mind just becomes so, like, in the zone, and that's essentially what happens with these runners that you're so deep into It.
Host 1
At that point, I would love to talk to like one of the competitive ones and the ones like really run that.
Host 2
I mean, Mikey. Mikey. Yeah, the Iron man, that's like the most competitive level. And imagine that's a. I mean, he, he was basically racing for eight hours.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Can you imagine like your body just physically and different, like taxing for eight.
Host 1
And different, like mediums of. Right.
Host 2
You're swimming, you're biking and you're running and. And for a long time in every single one of those.
Host 1
No, those are. And I know you did it.
Host 2
Talk about mental. Like, that's mental as hell. Obviously super physical too, like taxing as hell on the body. But the only way you're going to be able to even think about accomplishing that is like you got to be just. You got to have the mind wired different.
Host 1
No, an Iron man is. I, I would not to throw share of the marathon, but Iron man feels just like a different animal.
Host 2
Well, it is. Because imagine you have to do a whole marathon. Like if you do a full Iron man, it's a full marathon on top of the biking, on top of the swim.
Host 1
And the bike is like what, 30 miles?
Host 2
Oh, 110 miles.
Host 1
Yeah, sorry. Marathon.
Host 2
And, and yeah, no, no, Iron man is the next. Next level of.
Host 1
But there's like half Ironmans, right?
Host 2
Yeah. So then you're doing a half marathon. Like a 50, 60 mile bike. Is there a bike? And then like a mile swim.
Host 1
Is it like a quarter Iron Man?
Host 2
Yeah. So they're just, those are like just triathlons at that point. So you have different versions of. Of tries. Because basically triathlons, run, bike, swim, the Iron Mans are the ultimate triathlons.
Host 1
Listen, man, those guys that do that.
Host 2
So there's like, there's like mini tries that are like, you know, a 5K or a 6K with, you know, some sort of bike element and then a swim element.
Host 1
You really have to love it to do it. Yeah.
Host 2
I mean, talk about like accomplishment.
Host 1
Like. Yeah.
Host 2
I know two people that have accomplished full Iron Mans.
Host 1
Well, it's like you see, you see people tattoo it on themselves.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
It's like when a pitcher tattoos 100 on their arm. When they reach 100.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
They tattoo the Iron man logo. Like, dude, to do that.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Like, I don't know if I ran a full marathon. I don't know if I'd. I'd like tattoo like how many miles is it?
Host 2
26.26.2.
Host 1
Yeah. I'd probably write 26 on the bottom of my foot.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Let's say like when they look at me, like when I, when I. When I finally go to rest and look at my body, I feel like, fuck this Skyrim marathon.
Host 2
Well then, I mean there's just like that whole world's crazy because then you have ultra marathons that it's 100 mile run.
Host 1
I think that was like this guy, David Goggins.
Host 2
Goggins.
Host 1
They run like for 100 miles.
Host 2
Gogins is another monster. He's done more than 100 miles. But Ultra marathoners is a thing too. And they have races for ultra marathons which shout out Danny at SS. He's going to do one.
Host 1
How many miles is that?
Host 2
100 miles.
Host 1
100 miles.
Host 2
100 miles. And you have 36 hours to complete it.
Host 1
So you have to sleep in between them. Right.
Host 2
Well, that, that's. I was actually asking him that question. So you don't have to. Could. You could choose to sleep at one point if you.
Host 1
That's essentially.
Host 2
But he's.
Host 1
A day and a half. Yeah.
Host 2
Yes. A day and a half. Yeah. Yeah.
Host 1
To run 100.
Host 2
To run 100. But he was saying that he's not gonna sleep.
Host 1
Just power through.
Host 2
He's gonna go through it. Yeah. It's crazy.
Host 1
Be pumping electrolytes the whole time.
Host 2
Yeah. I mean there's meals you gotta obviously eat because you're just burning so much. You need electrolytes, you need fluids. I mean it's 30. Yeah. Even if it's 20 something hours, you know, like you, you gotta, you gotta replenish what you're burning.
Host 1
It's crazy.
Host 2
No, it's insane. And then you have like pacers. So you'll have someone running with you to like keep you going. You can have like a car following you. So if you, you know, you need something, you can go. You'll probably stop a little bit here and there. Obviously I've seen that for people that you're not like consistently like.
Host 1
I've seen that when they do the bike to Key west and there's pace cars with you.
Host 2
Yeah. That's the Ragnar race. That's sick. I actually wanted to do that.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
It's a relay race down to.
Host 1
To keep the car has like extra parts and in case your bike breaks or something.
Host 2
Yeah. I mean you're. You're biking for so long that God.
Host 1
Forbid, friends, like there's cars. Yeah.
Host 2
Something happens, you need. You need somebody there with you.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Cuz. Yeah. Now you're nowhere near you.
Host 1
There's definitely levels to fitness that I guess as far as you want to go like, you can reach insane levels of accomplishment.
Host 2
David Goggins is like the epitome of.
Host 1
That guy, a Navy SEAL that just.
Host 2
Said you could push your body to whatever level.
Host 1
That is. True. But that comes like the mentality.
Host 2
That's mental. That's where the mental.
Host 1
The mental wall just like.
Host 2
Yeah. What you believe you can achieve is like what you will achieve. And how crazy are you to think that you could. Could do that?
Host 1
It's crazy.
Host 2
Yeah, it's crazy, dude. Shout out all the Miami Marathon runners. It's a great accomplishment, great feat, and always great to be able to do something like that here in the city of Miami. And the city of Miami kind of rallying behind it. It's great. People are honking the horns when they're driving their car. All the crowds cheering. So shout out everyone that ran the half for the full marathon. Hope you guys are recovering today. That is essential. Carbing up some carbs, some ice cream, some good meals, resting those legs up and. And just getting back to. To healthy.
Host 1
That's really. People have to go to work today.
Host 2
They're probably like, a lot of people got the day off today. Yeah. Or like, got to work from home. Yeah. I know a couple people that. They're like, I ain't going to work today. Which is fair.
Host 1
I feel like. I feel like the offices should give you, like, if you ran the half marathon, be like, you know, bro, you can take a. Take a day.
Host 2
Yeah. Geez. I mean, crawling into work, that'll be crazy.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
But shout out everybody there. But thank you guys, as always, for tuning in. We hope you guys enjoyed this episode of Cafecito y Croquetas. Share with your friends. Like, subscribe. You guys know the deal. As always, enjoy your cafecito and enjoy your croquetas. See you guys next week.
