Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Soccer will probably become the number two here in the States and the big influence is because how much Latinos we have here in the United States, largest growing demographic, they represent over $3 trillion in purchasing power. Right. So there is power in that marketplace. And us Latinos, we love football.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Yeah, absolutely. And we are absolutely seeing that that power already.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Welcome back to another episode of State Tranquilo. Today we are here at the Xfinity stadium house and we are joined by Javier Garcia. Thank you so much for, for this, for this opportunity and for taking the time.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Andre, thank you so much for having me. And wanted to say hi to the State Tranquilo fans, which I'm one of those. Thank you for having me.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Absolutely. So of course World cup not only here in the United States, but a key in Miami. Right. A lot of anticipation, a lot of excitement. Talk to us about what this excitement is for the city, not only in the United States, but here in Miami.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
In general terms, I think this is the culmination of a lot going on around soccer. The sports is just growing and growing in popularity and is essentially driven by a very young demographic. Right. Multicultural demographic like us.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Absolutely.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
So we think this is going to be huge. What it means is obviously the culmination of a lot of things that happened Messi in Miami. That's huge. All of the women's sort of Team USA wins. I have two daughters and they got infatuated with the women's sort of. And now one of them actually plays in one of the universities, et cetera. Oh, wow. Yeah. I do think that really, this is gonna be just another soft stepping stone for soccer. Are ready at Xfinity? We're absolutely ready. Counting the days to get started when we talk football.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Right. I think from what I'm seeing. Right. Even based off some of the facts that you were just mentioning, you talk about the growth of soccer here in the United States. You're talking. NFL has been obviously a big priority. NBA, mlb, the staples of the United States. But in my opinion, soccer will probably become the number two here in the States. And a big influence is because how much Latinos we have here in the United States, largest growing demographic. They represent over $3 trillion in purchasing power. Right. So there is power in that marketplace. And us Latinos, we love football.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Yeah, absolutely. And we are absolutely seeing that. That power already. But something that you touch, I think is important. I think it's not instead of. Right. Like, I think we Latinos still love baseball. I still love the NFL, the NBA. And the idea is, how do you bring everything together? Which is one of the things I wanted to talk to you about. We'll get into that. But is how do you have, you know, able to on any given Saturday, watch all of those sports at the same time? But yes, absolutely.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
No. And I think that's the perfect transition. Right. We're here with Xfinity today. You guys are making a big push not only in soccer, but all sports, like you mentioned. Right. But here we are for the World Cup. Talk to us about what Xfinity is providing for the consumer, for the fan, all the fanaticals that are here being able now to provide an opportunity to be able to watch these games.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Absolutely. So before I get into Xfinity, let's talk quickly about the experience of a sports fan. I know you guys go deep into that, but today, even let alone soccer, think about the NBA and other sports, for the most part, folks are streaming it.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Right.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
And it's very complicated. Right. Even. And take the NBA, you have to have different streaming platforms if you even want to have some sort of coverage. Soccer, the same. And to your point, soccer is global. So you may want to watch Messi, but you also may want to watch the English Premier League, Mexican League, what have you. So it is not only complicated, but it's expensive. Right. And then when you get into stats, odds, all that starts becoming even more complicated. So we have been making a bet to say we Want to be the best soccer and sports platform in the United States. What that means is really three things. One is the technology. So the last thing that you want is you're watching any game and then your wifi goes down. And if everyone is actually watching at the same time, it might happen. So you need to have a technology like Xfinity where that doesn't happen because the network recognizes, hey, this family is watching a soccer match. So we're going to boost the signal automatically so it doesn't sort of go down. I think the second one is this idea of aggregation and personalization where we make it very simple to create the sports experience that you want so you can mix and match Mexican League epl, we have all our providers into sort of a seamless experience. So. And then the third one is very important for Latino families is what we call El Bolcillo, which is you cannot break the bank. Right. Like, this experience could become very expensive.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Absolutely.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
And we now, and we can talk about promotions if you want, but for us, for starters, today, for example, if you are Xfinity customer, you have been four or five years with us, you have World cup included in your service, so you don't have to pay additional. If you have our gig level service, you don't have to pay additional. So we start there and then we start building packages. We have a package built for the Latino families called Now TV Latino that has more than 1,000 games for $14. Wow. And like Mexican League, EPL and others. So we think with those three things, obviously the technology, content aggregation, personalization, and then the value, we think we have a winning combination.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Yeah. And I think something interesting when you mentioned, like, Latino families, we're very different as far as being a consumer. Right. The way from everything from the way we travel to the way we consume content, there's a ton of data and analytics that also back up the fact that Latino fans are younger than general market. Right. There's so much power behind the Latino market. But I think as a behavior standpoint, right, when. When they come to the house, we got 8, 10, 15 of us in la casa, right. It's abuelo, primo prima. It's everybody, Right. And I think it's interesting because it's a different dynamic. You got maybe Uno in the room playing his video games, right. You got one watching his. His or her TV over here. El otro que tatra abajando. And then, you know, the kids on the iPads. Right. It's a very different dynamic. And I think kind of the way you're talking about is right, Is creating this holistic experience where it fits for everybody in the familia. Right.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
You know what I was. You're absolutely right, Andre and I was demonstrating our platform to someone in Chicago the other day and that person was like, oh my God, this is amazing because my kids love basketball and I love soccer. For the first time, we can all be on the same couch watching and it's like two or three completely different matches. And that's awesome. But the second piece that is sort of embedded into that, you need a network that can helps you manage it. You'll be amazed how many gadgets or devices or even people are connected to your WI Fi. So you should be able to say, hey kids, after 7pm no more games. And I'm going to shut that down from the Xfinity app. Or hey, I have a video conference. I want to make this for work. I want to make sure that I have the right speed. So make sure you can configure that and make it very simple. If the dot they come and what is the first thing they're going to ask you is the WI Fi every time. So make sure you make that in a very simple way. So, yeah, definitely our technology is at service of the Latino multicultural family.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Absolutely. So talk to us a little bit about the product right now. You talked about multi game view, some of the other features, statistics. So what does this experience? We have the TVs in front of us now and we can walk through it a little bit after. But I want to talk from you and your perspective of all the features that are offered through Xfinity.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Yeah, definitely. Very proud of what the team has accomplished in terms of features. And I'll probably say at its core it's a very personalized experience. So first, something that you and I have been just doing now, switching between Spanish and English. The platform recognizes if I say, well, cupped, here's my Xfinity remote. And if I say World cup, it'll take me into the experience. But if I say Copa Mundial, it'll also take me to the experience. Then I get to watch the games in Espanol from Telemundo if I want to. I have two daughters, like I said, and they probably say, no, papi, change it to English and we'll do that. And all I need to do is to say I want to watch it in English and then the platform. Then from there, look, there is 104 games. So there is way too much to watch unless you're Going to get fired or something. So you need to personalize the experience. So you need to be able to say, look, I want to follow Team usa. In my case, I want to follow Colombia. I know you're rooting for Colombia as well. And then from there, then the platform knows what is the type of content that you want. So it's going to not only give you the games, but give you highlights and stats like odds, things like that. You mentioned Tio and Tia, and I know, at least in my family, a favorite conversation is, how are we doing if Brazil wins, do we make it to the next round? And all that?
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Yes.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
So you have all that stats at the fingertips, essentially just one click or one voice remote away from the experience. And then the other one is you're able to watch the games at your own pace. So the platform recognizes that you are a fan of Colombia. So it's going to record all those matches, and then you're going to be able to either watch the entire thing or via artificial intelligence. The platform knows the key moments of the match. Right. It could be like a corner kick or goal, and you just say, goal, corner kick. And it'll just take you to those highlights at your own sort of pace. So all of this is just a lot. But ultimately, if I do boil it down is personalization of the experience. And I forgot multi view. We talked about it, but. Right, that's another one where I can. I can watch. Yeah. And we, we have it right now, and I'm sure we're going to. We can show it to. To your viewers, but it. Essentially what I'm showing right now is this is mission control for everything sports. Right. You're a sports fan, you have four sports at the same time. All the stats, all the odds, everything that you need to know is right there at your fingertips. So that's a little bit of experience. But if I. If I had to boil it down. And it's personalized.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Yeah, no, I'm. I'm just observing it here. And it's. It's got everything, right. You got baseball on, you got basketball, racing, soccer, and we'll show the experience. But you can essentially choose what you want on, like, the main screen and then have kind of on the side what you want on the side.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Correct, Exactly.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
So when you talk about personalization, you're actually itemizing everything as to how you want it to look.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Exactly. And personalization also implies, Andre, that you can make it. Obviously, you look at a view like this and it looks complicated, but maybe because for the Two of us that are sports fans. But my dad, right. He's going to want something very simple so he can have that. So really is as sort of immersive as you wanted it to be, right?
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Simple or more.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Or more complex. Exactly.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
It's impressive to see this. Being a very big sports fan and our audience obviously being very big sports fans. It's always that dynamic of when there's a lot of things going on, how can I watch? I've done it in my own living room where I have a spare TV on the side, where I literally bring it into the living room, plug it into an outlet, and then I have the main TV on with one game and then another TV on this game. This obviously eliminates the need to have to do that.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Exactly. And then you're able to. Yeah, you have everything, all your favorite teams and sports at your fingertips and then you're able to. To enjoy it.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Absolutely. So Colombia is who. Who you're rooting for for the World Cup.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Colombia versus Team usa. That's going to be the finals in World Cup.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Oh, my goodness. Can you imagine?
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Imagine that?
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Man, I can't imagine that.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Awesome.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Because then New York is hosting the finale and then Miami is hosting the third place game and a semifinal game.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Exactly. So it's just going to be a lot of fun and, you know, great action.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Absolutely. Well, Javier, I appreciate the time. Thank you so much for showcasing the experience. And now I want to go and kind of walk through so you can kind of teach us a little bit about how everything looks.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Sounds great. Andre, I cannot thank you enough for having us in the space and looking forward to counting the days for Walker.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Unplaced. And go Columbia.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Awesome. So there you go. That's what I was showing you. Like, obviously you have the stats, so you see that those are also the. You can even have the commentary. And this is probably the coolest one because this is where you select all the different sports you want to watch for. So.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
So you select here.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Exactly, exactly. And then you have it. Boom. Watch it in multi view. And then. Wow. So not only you have the four matches, but you have all the stats. If it's World cup, then you have all the stats to the right.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Right.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
And sometimes you want to have one. You still just want to watch soccer, but then follow the other ones like what you just told me with the little tv. So you spotlight it, that you'll be your main tv. Okay. And now what I'll do is to have the other three, but I can also bring, if I click here I can, I can bring the stats and. And then you have all the stats and odds and even has an integration with FanDuel and things like that that you can actually from the tv. So it really becomes like your sports control center. Imagine a Saturday afternoon in your couch. This is the more immersive experience.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Yeah. You're distracted, maybe on the phone, maybe trying to look up some of this information. Pero aura. You could see everything and those odds for any sport. Right.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Any game. So you have that. Obviously the conversation of, hey, who was. And this is what I was saying. This could be like a very family oriented experience because you have everything right there. And if I keep clicking, then the
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
group standings is cool too.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Right.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Because it's hard to sometimes keep track.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Right.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Who's won in the group.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Exactly. So we can get into that and then have the entire group standings and you still have the audio of the match. Yes. That's pretty cool.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
That's incredible.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
And let me see what else. The other one, probably the other cool one is the dvr. Like for example, right now I say recordings and it'll take me into, let's say Brazil, right. So I want to watch it click there. And this is what I was saying. If I say steal, then get me there. Goal kick, it'll be. Penalty kick will be there and then goal and then boom, there you have it. So it's not like your typical, like highlights that you get out of, you know, the Internet. See, it's something very personalized to experience. You can go back and forth and watch, right? Yeah.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
There's a game you miss. You can go back, see exactly how everything went down. You might know the score, but you want to see exactly how it went down.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Exactly.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Well, for Colombia, they're gonna have a lot of lines because they're gonna be scoring a lot of goals.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
Yeah. So. So that's pretty much. And then obviously this is the piece that we talk about. You can take the experience with you because it's. I mean, streaming is going to be an important component of this. So all of this can also be on a screen.
Andre (Host of State Tranquilo)
Amazing, amazing, amazing.
Javier Garcia (Guest from Xfinity)
