Madison Pruitt Trout
Do you believe that we are living in the end times?
Jimmy Evans
The last 10 years is the first time in human history Revelation 11 can come true.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Can you talk about why you believe that we will be raptured as believers before the seven years of tribulation?
Jimmy Evans
The mark of the beast is a repudiation of God in allegiance with the Antichrist. He is going to be the worst human being in human history. Literally, the devil incarnate. Plan like Jesus isn't coming back for 100 years, but live like he's coming back today. The rapture is Jesus coming to take us out. It's a private event between us and the Lord in the air.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Why would a good God send people to hell?
Jimmy Evans
Hell is going to be a place of eternal torment. The worst thing about hell is God's not there. Hell is 1000% avoidable.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Will you know your spouse in heaven? Will you know your family in heaven?
Jimmy Evans
We can't die. Christians can't die. The Son of God doesn't have a budget. And can you imagine the places that he's preparing for us? We can't comprehend how much Jesus loves us.
Madison Pruitt Trout
What's up, guys? Welcome back to another episode of Stay True podcast. I'm your host, Madison Pruitt Trout, and I am here with someone that I have looked up to for a very long time. I told him right before starting this podcast that I have been watching his podcast since college, and he was my favorite. When I would go on a road trip, that's. I was turning on Jimmy Evans and I was listening to End Times, and so that's what we're gonna be talking about today. And he is an author, he's a speaker. Him and his wife started Exo Marriage Ministries, and he does all kinds of amazing things. He's written so many books that I'm like, I don't even know how you. How you did all that. I mean, I was looking it up and it was like something like 50 books, right?
Jimmy Evans
Yeah.
Madison Pruitt Trout
It's amazing. So Stay True podcast. Welcome, Jimmy Evans.
Jimmy Evans
Well, so my daughter. I've been looking forward to this, Madison. Thank you very much. My daughter said, you're going to be on Medicine Trout. So I'm a big deal now to my daughter, you know, because I'm on your podcast.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Oh, my gosh. No. I told her right before. I said, listen, I don't fangirl over anybody. But I was like, I'm low key, freaking out that Jimmy Evans is coming on the podcast. Because, I mean, truly, in college, I took a road trip with some of my best friends to Canada. We left from Birmingham, Alabama to Canada. It was like a crazy road trip of 40 hours. And we went through your whole Tipping Point series.
Jimmy Evans
Wow.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And I was shook and I sent it to, like, everyone and I said, you guys need to listen to this. And I've just been following you ever since.
Jimmy Evans
Wow.
Madison Pruitt Trout
I was at Church of the Highlands for a really, really long time and so kind of found you through Highlands and you've spok there many of times.
Jimmy Evans
A dear friend, Chris Hodges.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yes. And we love the Hodges family. I lived with Katie and Michael Hodges for a while and helped with their sweet little boy. And so anyways, it's just so cool. This is like such a full circle moment.
Jimmy Evans
It's an honor to be. It really is.
Madison Pruitt Trout
I'm so excited and I know that this is a conversation that is very intriguing for a lot of people. It is. I think for a lot of people it either strikes fear and they get really scared when the end times is talked about, or, you know, it strikes hope and people get really, really excited.
Jimmy Evans
That's what I want.
Madison Pruitt Trout
That's what we want. That was our prayer right before this, was that people, you guys listening, would feel hope because as believers, it's a really, really good thing. It's really good news. It's actually the best news ever. And so this is hopefully a very hopeful and hope filled conversation for those of you listening. And if it's not when it starts out, I hope that by the end of the podcast that you are walking away with some hope. And so I'm pumped to dive in talking about end times. And so just, I guess is like, first question is, do you believe that we are living in the end times?
Jimmy Evans
I believe we're living at the end of the end times. I believe the, the end times really started in 1948 when Israel became a nation. And so that's 77 years now since they became a nation. And so I believe that the, the, the signs that we're seeing right now in the world, their terminal signs today, before I came over here, there was an extreme warning issued about Iran getting a nuclear weapon. They said they're just right there getting in all the other things that are happening. And so. And when I say that, you know, it sounds very ominous and for young people. And I want to say this. My granddaughters, I've got two granddaughters that are 22, they're twins. Another one is 17. They said, well, Pappy, we want, we want to get married, we want to have kids.
Madison Pruitt Trout
I said the same Thing.
Jimmy Evans
Oh, I get that.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
I get that.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
When you see Jesus, you'll never look back.
Madison Pruitt Trout
100%.
Jimmy Evans
It. You know, you'll. You won't say, my gosh, I wish I go back and graduate well. I wish I go back. Being in the presence of Jesus will be something. You never get sick again. You never feel pain again. First of all, you know, we prayed before this started. We don't pray to the ceiling. We pray. We're there at his face. We're worshiping in his presence. We. It's just everything changes. And so. And Jesus said, when you see these things begin to happen, talking about the end times, look up and lift up your head. Your redemption draws near. And redemption means to get back. Adam and Eve lost eternal life. They lost the presence of God. They lost their authority. They lost paradise. They lost pleasure. We get it all back forevermore. So it's something Jesus said, when you see these things happen, look up another thing. Madison. This is not our home, right? And sometimes we kind of get attached here. This is really kind of a sewer. You know, if you really think about it, it's just there's the evil in the world today, the horrible things that are happening in the world today. And when we get in the presence of God, we'll realize we've been living in a sewer. But we got used to it. And so we. We really should not get that attached here. As long as we're here, we're working for Jesus. Yeah, we're. We're working to get people saved and be a good influence for Christ. And so we don't want to get lazy, but at the same time, we don't want to get attached. And Jesus said, in talking about the end times, in Luke 17, he said, Remember Lot's wife? And see, when the angels were trying to take Lot out of this filthy place called Sodom and Gomorrah, his wife looked back, and so in looking back, she was saying, I'm. I really like that. I really don't want to leave. And she turned into a pillar of salt. And Jesus said, don't get attached. You know, keep your eyes on heaven. Don't. Don't keep them back there. There's nothing wrong with loving people here, but there's something wrong with loving the world is. Because the world is a substitute for. For Jesus. And if you said, you know, first John says, if you love the world, the love of the Father, something. And so we want to love God, we want to love the Father, we want our security to be in Him. Not in this world, but. But I say that to everyone watching. I know you have some younger people watching. We just. We just want to remember our home.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Is in heaven, not here, which is so. It's so important, it's so convicting, because it's so easy to even have this moment of revelation, knowing, okay, my. My life is but a breath, and heaven is my home. And you have this moment of, like, deep conviction, but then you go back out, and it's like you get caught up in things again and you get attached to things again. And I was reading in. In Romans 8 the other day that it goes on to talk about how children of God, we should be groaning like a woman in. In labor, waiting for his return. Because. And I was thinking about that, and I was like, man, are we actually groaning, or are we actually more, like comfortable at our lake house, really not wanting him to return because we kind of like it here? And it was so convicting to me because I'm like, am I living my life in such a way where I am so desperately longing for his return and I cannot wait for that day, or am I living my life comfortable and complacent here that I'm actually not thinking about there? And I think a lot of people can relate to that. And so I'm so glad you. You brought that up. And at the end of this podcast, I'd even love to talk practically of, like, how we can, you know, make the most of our time on this earth and steward it well and be faithful with it, as well as keep our eyes on eternity and to remember to, you know, it says in the word, like, teach us to number our day. Like, to remember our days are numbered and we're not promised tomorrow. Okay, guys, I'm taking a short break from this podcast. Tell you about some exciting news. My new book, Dare to be True. Stay true. Dare to be True. It just makes sense. When God laid this podcast on my heart, I actually had already started working on my next book, Dare to be True. And the whole point of this podcast and the whole point of this book is we were all designed and made for truth, and everyone in this world is searching for it. Yet so many of us are searching for the right things in all of the wrong places. And this book is all about tackling the lies that often entangle us and bind us and finding the truth that sets us free. And so in this book, we're going to be tackling all the things from sin and shame and the lies around eternity and the lies around your identity and the lies around your purpose and how to find the truth and live free. Because the reality is it says in Proverbs 14:12 that there is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, end it leads to death. There is a way that the world preaches that we should go, that we should follow, that we should conform to, that we should look like, and in the end it leads to death. Yet what God's word says is Jesus says in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. So he is saying, the truth you are looking for can only be found in me. I am the truth. And I'm not only the truth. I am the truth that leads to life and life abundantly. And then it says in John 8:32, when you know the truth, it's the truth that will set you free. And so if you have ever felt bound by lies, if you have ever questioned your worth, your confidence, your purpose, if you have ever wondered how you can break free from feeling weighed down, exhausted, overwhelmed, or even insecure about who you truly are and what your purpose is on this earth, this book is for you. I have often said I just want to be free. I have looked at my husband many of times and said, I just want to be free. I'm tired of feeling weighed down. I'm tired of feeling not enough. I'm tired of being on this endless cycle of striving and performing and never feeling like I can reach what I need to reach and be who I need to be. And when I go back to the truth, when I go back to who God is and who God says I am, that is when I experience true freedom. And so this book is for you and I am so excited. True Crew for you to go and get your copy of Dare to Be True. You can pre order it now. I will be including the link in this episode and so you can go and pre order it. It will be coming out this fall. I'm so, so excited and I can't wait. We're going to be doing some really fun series all about some of the content in this book, but you're going to want to get your hands on it because there's some really, really fun special pieces in this book that you can't get in this podcast so you guys can go and pre order Dare to Be True now. If you want to break free from what is breaking you, I'd love to ask you about the Rapture and there's a lot of debate on Rapture second coming. If the Rapture will actually happen. And so what do you believe about the rapture? What does Scripture say about the rapture? Is that something that will happen?
Jimmy Evans
Yes, it will. I believe it's the next major prophetic event that will happen. So you know, in 1st Thessalonians chapter 4, the apostle Paul's talking about people who've died. And he said, now I don't want you to be ignorant. By the way, in the book of first Thessalonians, the return of Jesus is mentioned in every chapter. And so in 1 Thessalonians 4, he said, I don't want you to be ignorant. Brethren of the people have fallen asleep in the Lord. In other words, your relatives that have died who knew Jesus, he said, the Lord will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and the trumpet of God. The dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort each other with these words. So when the words, they're caught up, the two words, that's one Greek word called harpazo. But in the Latin, when Jerome translated the Bible into Latin, they that's the Latin word rapier repair. That's where we go to write rapture. So when people say rapture is not in the Bible, it's very clearly in First Thessalonians there, First Corinthians 15, Paul says, we'll all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet. You know, so the same, it's a parallel text for 1st Thessalonians 4. And so the rapture of the church is our great hope. And so there, there's going to be the rapture, then a seven year tribulation. Okay? And so second Thessalonians chapter two, the apostle Paul begins by saying, concerning the coming of the Lord and our gathering together to him, I don't want you to be ignorant, brother, because that day is not going to come until the falling away comes first. And falling away, Madison, means apostasy in Colorado. This week there was a representative in the legislature of Colorado that says if you don't want your child to transition, you're like the kkk. Look at the opening ceremonies of the summer Olympics last summer in Paris. Yeah, 20 years ago those people wouldn't have made it out of town. Is it was the most, you know, just blasphemous thing you could possibly imagine. So what we've seen is this massive falling Away. And so Paul says there is the coming of Jesus isn't going to happen until there's a massive falling. Well, that's what's happened. This big falling away. And then he says, he who now restrains will do so until He. This is capital H E. He who now restrains will do so till he is taken out of the way. Then the lawless one will be revealed. The Antichrist. Well, so the Rapture. See, the church was birthed on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit fell. So when the Rapture happens, the restrainer is taken out. Okay, so who is restraining abortion in the world today? The Church. Who's restraining unrighteousness, the trans movement and all that? The Church. It's the church in the world restraint. When the Holy Spirit takes the church out, the Holy Spirit doesn't leave. He's omnipresent. He's going to be here. But there's seven years of wrath. Revelation 6 is the beginning of the Tribulation and it's called the Wrath of the Lamb. First of all, the Lamb isn't mad at us. We're his. We're his bride to be or his wife. And so there's going to be seven years of wrath. First Thessalonians, chapter one. Paul says, Jesus, we're waiting for Jesus from heaven who delivers us from the wrath that is to come. In 1st Thessalonians, chapter 5. Remember, the rapture is 1st Thessalonians 4, 1st Thessalonians 5. Paul says, God has not destined us for wrath. And so the Rapture is Jesus coming to take us out of the world. And we're going to marry Jesus. There's going to be a seven year. A Jewish wedding was seven days long. The ancient weddings were seven days long. There's going to be a seven year marriage. Supper of the Lamb at the same time that's occurring, there's seven year wrath of the Lamb on earth called the Tribulation. Now a lot of people could be getting saved on the earth, but it's a very severe thing. Most of them will die.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And so the, the Rapture is. Titus calls it our blessed hope. And so we have a blessed hope that Jesus is coming. And some people would say, well, you know, Jimmy, now you're an escapist. I'm sorry, but you're just telling all these people something and you're just escapist. I want to say guilty. Jesus said in Luke 21, Pray that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things and to stand before The Son of man. Now, Luke 21 is an end time chapter. And in Luke 21, he's talking about the signs of the end times. And he says, talking about the Rapture, it will come as a snare on all of those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Okay? A snare is an animal trap. So the Rapture is going to take us out, and the rest of the world is trapped in tribulation. It will come as a snare on all of those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Okay? And so the next verse, pray therefore, that you may be kind of worthy to escape Jesus. If we were going to go through the tribulation, he would have said. Because some people say, well, the second coming of the Rapture, the same thing.
Madison Pruitt Trout
They're not right. I've heard that a lot.
Jimmy Evans
Well, so first, Thessalonians 4, the Lord will descend from heaven with a shout, the voice of an archangel, the trumpet of God. The dead in Christ will rise first. Then we hear alive and remain, will be caught up to meet the Lord in the clouds, in the air. Okay, well, that's the Rapture. It's a private event between us and the Lord in the air. The second coming. If anybody wants to read their Bible, Zechariah 14 and Revelation 19 are parallel text. The Lord. Revelation 19, where we appear with Jesus as his wife, not his bride. Revelation 19. We have the white linen on which is the righteous acts of the saints. We return with Jesus. Okay? We're with him. Now think about the view. We're behind Jesus. I'm thankful he's at the front of the pack, you know, doing all the work. But Jesus is there. We're all behind him, and we're watching him throw the Antichrist and the false prophet alive into the lake of fire and bind Satan up for a thousand years and destroy everybody that came against Jerusalem at Armageddon. We're watching that. We're with him. Okay? It's exactly what Zechariah 14 says in the Old Testament. It says, the Lord will come and all of his saints with him. And it vividly describes the Lord coming Old Testament and New Testament. That's the second coming. It says every eye will see him. They will look on him whom they pierced. And so when Jesus comes the second time, it's not a private event, it's a public event. Very public. So the first time he comes, he takes us away to be with him during the marriage supper of the Lamb. The second time, we return with him as his wife to rule and reign with him for a thousand years. And so. And you know, I. I love explaining these things because I was confused for so many years, you know, even studying Bible prophecy when I was in my 20s and 30s. I started studying it when I was 19. And I'm 71, by the way, so I've done it a long time. So, you know, I was confused for a long time. So I never get put off by these kind of questions because it's important, because just as surely as I say this, some. Somebody's going to go out and be with somebody and they're gonna say, oh, that Jimmy Adams is lying to you. There's no such thing. I'm just saying what the Bible says. So I hope that's helpful.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah, yeah. Because a lot of people, when you read through, like, the book of Revelation, Revelation can be really intimidating.
Jimmy Evans
Yes.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And a lot of it can be over our heads, don't understand things. And so people don't even. It's like the mindset is, well, I'm here now, so let me just focus on here now and not worry about, you know, what's next.
Jimmy Evans
That's right.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And so a lot of people don't even. They're completely unaware. And so I think these conversations are so important because, yes, it should. It should give us hope, but we should be prepared. We should be ready, and we should know what is to come and to also tell other people and encourage other people with this great news for us who believe in Jesus Christ. So, okay, so I'm so glad that you spoke to the difference between the Rapture and the second Coming, because that is a huge question for so many people. And so your viewpoint when you were talking about the tribulation, which I'm with you, is. Is pre Trib, Right. Because there's three different viewpoints, which is pre trib, mid Trib, post trip.
Jimmy Evans
That's right.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And can you kind of talk about that for a little bit and why you believe that we will be raptured as believers before the seven years of tribulation?
Jimmy Evans
And I just, you know, encourage everybody, don't believe a word I'm saying. Just look it up.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Right.
Jimmy Evans
Is because if I'm saying something that's not in the Bible, you know, I, I don't. I don't want anybody to believe me. But let me tell you what the Bible says. So in Luke 17, some Jews came up and said, lord, when what are the signs of the end? You know, And Jesus kind of ignored him and turned to the disciples and he said, the coming of the Son of Man is going to be like the lightning that flashes from the east to the west. The words, it's up there, it's instantly up there. And he said, the coming of the days of. The coming of the Son of Man will be like the days of Noah. They were buying and selling, marrying and getting married until the day that Noah got on the ark. And then the flood came, destroyed them all. Now notice the sequence. It will be like the day, one day in human history when Noah got on the ark. Now here's my question. Was it raining when Noah got on the ark? Oh, he got on the ark. There was no rain. There was a lot of scoffers, a lot of sinners to call him a nut, but he and his family got on the ark and eight people were saved. The Lord sealed them in that ark. Then the rain, then the judgment came. Jesus said, it'll be like that day, buying and selling, marrying, getting marriage, okay? He said, then the coming, the days of. The coming of the Son of Man will be like the days of Lot, okay? Before he went, on the day he went out of Sodom and Gomorrah, it'll be like the day that Lot went out of Sodom and Gomorrah. There was buying and selling, marrying, getting married, marriage, planting and building, okay? He said, then the. The judgment came and destroyed all that. So Jesus is saying there's two. Say there's a. A definite articles means the. An indefinite article means a. He didn't say it'd be like a day in those life. He said it'd be like the day that Noah got on the ark. They'll be like the day that Lot went out of Sodom and Gomorrah. The angels that came to get Lot and his family out of Sodom and Gomorrah said, we can't judge this place until you're gone.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Wow.
Jimmy Evans
Other words. So he says it's gonna be like that, okay? So buying, selling, marrying, giving in marriage, planning and building hope for the future. Okay? So pre trip, there's. It's before judgment, it's before wrath. So some people say it's going to be in the middle at the end. So let me say it's going to be in the middle. So if it's going to be in the middle, the seal Judgments in Revelation 6 are the beginning of the tribulation. One seal, judgment, destroys the fourth of mankind. The rider on the pale horse destroys the fourth of mankind. Okay? The Antichrist is right on the white horse. And he comes to conquer. The rider on the red horse takes peace from the earth. The rider on the black horse brings famine. And it takes a day's wage to buy a quart of wheat or three quarts of barley. The rider on the pale horse kills a fourth of mankind. That's how the Tribulation begins. So some people call it not just mid trip, they call it pre wrath. Okay, the whole thing's wrath. Yeah, the whole thing stinks. And so then you get to the trumpet judgments where the asteroid hits the earth. And in Revelation 9, three judgments kills another third of mankind. And so then you get into the bowl Judgments of Revelation 16. Bowl Judgments is horrific. And those are toward the end of the tribulation. Now, here's what I'm saying, Madison. At the end of the before the bowl judgments, over half of mankind's dead and the Earth has been just decimated. Okay? And you're saying to me that Jesus is saying the coming of the Son of Man is going to be like the days of Noah and Lot. Buying, selling, marrying, giving to marriage, planting, building. Do you think people are going to be doing that when half the world over, half the world's dead?
Madison Pruitt Trout
Right.
Jimmy Evans
You're gonna be bearing dead bodies. You're gonna be. You're gonna be crying out for. I mean, the. It's not at the end of the Tribulation. It's gonna be horrific. So Jesus is trying to give us hope. In Matthew 24, here's what Jesus said. The days of the coming of the Son of Man will be like Noah before the flood. That's what he said. The days of the coming of the Son of Man. And then he describes the rapture in Luke 17. And in Matthew 24, Jesus describes rapture like this. He said, Two men will be in the field, one taken, one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill. They'll be at the microwave. They won't be grinding.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah, not 20, 25.
Jimmy Evans
We need to modernize it. But one taken, one left. Okay? And so that's rapture. And the disciples said, were they taken? He said, where the eagles are gathered up there. Okay, so I'm just saying, from a practical perspective, how on earth would Jesus say that his coming was like Noah and Lot before the Judgment? And then all of a sudden, we're supposed to go through judgment. The other thing I say, we're going to marry Jesus, what bad groom would say to his wife, hey, listen, we're going to get married in a little bit. Before that, I'm going to have a terrorist kidnap you and just beats you to death for seven years just to kind of get you ready. Is that the most horrible thing you've ever heard? And so, no, that's. We're not destined for it. Jesus is coming to live because we're his bride. He's not mad at us. Well, what about the people in the world? There's going to be a lot of people saved. It's a severe mercy. In other words, the rapture is not the end. People can still get saved, but they are trapped in a world under judgment, but they still get saved. Their eternity is saved. So there's one other thing I want to say, and if I can say this kind of is a continuation. So I want to say this relationally concerning people. And I think, you know, end time theology can be a little intimidating. But in talking about us being the bride of Christ, this is John 14, and a lot of people are familiar with this chapter because this is where Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, the life. Okay? No one comes to the Father but through me. But in our Western minds, we have a little hard, a little bit of a hard time sometime understanding the Bible because we read it with our Western mind. But the Bible is a Hebrew book. It's an Eastern book. This is John 14. Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself. That where I am, there you may be also. Okay, so let me say this. The word receive here. Jesus said, I'm going away to receive you to. I'm going away and I'm going to come back and receive you to myself. That where I am, you may be also. Remember I said in Luke 17, in Matthew 24, Jesus said, One is taken in the Rapture, one is left behind. The word taken is the word paralambano. The word receive here is paralympano, where Jesus said, I'm going to leave and come back and receive you into myself. In the Greek language, it's exactly the same word. So let me. Let me make this relational, because it is relational. We can't comprehend how much Jesus loves us. It's incomprehensible. And knowing the guy that I am, you know, I'm just saying, how could you love me so much? Because he's amazing. That's right. So he's talking to his disciples and this is wedding language. See, when he says, in my father's house are many mansions, that just goes over our head. But he's. But this is. You know, in a Jewish wedding, the. The groom would come to the bride's house and he would have money with him. It was called the bride price. And this was already prearranged with families and stuff. But he came to the bride's house with money, the bride price, and he had to pay the. For the bride. And then they sat down, and if it was agreed to, they sat down and drank a glass of wine. Now, if the bride didn't want to marry him, she wouldn't drink it.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Interesting.
Jimmy Evans
So she. She had to say it. So they would drink the wine, and when they drank the wine, that sealed their betrothal, okay? And after they drank the wine, the. The groom would say to her, I won't drink this again until I drink it with you in my Father's house. You ever heard that before? Jesus said, last supper.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Wow.
Jimmy Evans
Okay. Then he left and he went back to his Father's house and he built on a room. It was called a chuppah, for he and his wife, for his bride. And he would finish building this room for her. And then he had to wait till his father said, go back. It wasn't his decision. His father had to examine the room and make sure it was. Or the little house and make sure it was all right. And then when the Father was pleased, it was typically about a year later, he would say, go back and get your bride. Okay? That's what Jesus said. No one knows the day or the hour, not even the Son. Only the Father knows. Okay, so the Father Jesus is in heaven right now preparing something for us. Revelation 21 and 22 describes it. It's the new Jerusalem. It's the Father's house. It's just this incredible place. You see these, like Chip and Joanna Gaines, and they fix up these houses for people and they have like a hundred thousand dollar budget, you know, something like that. Jesus doesn't have a budget. The Son of God doesn't have a budget. And can you imagine the places that he's preparing for us? He loves us. It's relational. When you talk about the end times, we don't understand how much he loves us and how much he wants to be with us. His death establishes the value of our lives. So he's at the Father's house. He's preparing a place for us. This is what he told the disciples in John 14. We're his bride. We're the bride of Jesus Christ. We're going to be the wife of Jesus Christ. And someday very soon, God the Father is going to say to Jesus, go get your bride. And he's going to come and he's going to receive us. That's what Jesus was describing. Luke 17, Matthew 24. One taken, one left. When it says one taken, one left, it means it's selective. In Madison, that's meaning it's relational. Is the most important thing in. In all the world is to know Jesus as your personal savior. And people say, how do I get ready for the Rapture? Just know Jesus.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Amen.
Jimmy Evans
Is he in a personal way? It's not. Not going to church is important, but he can go to church and go to hell. Reading the Bible is important. You can read the Bible. The Pharisees knew the Bible back and forth. And so you have to know Jesus personally by inviting him into your life. And if you know Jesus, you're going to go on the Rapture. People say, what if. What if I'm not? What if I'm sending when the Rapture happens? Well, you will be imperfect. Everybody that goes in the Rapture will be a sinner. Okay. And so it's not about us, it's about Him.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
It's about his grace, his mercy, and his love. And so when people think about the end times, I want them, I want to try to help them, maybe stop thinking about the theology and think about the relationship. This is about a Savior.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yes.
Jimmy Evans
Who came to get a family, and we're his family. And he's now preparing a place for us, and he's going to come back and get us. And he's very excited about that. And it's all about relationship.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah. I just love that you said that and bringing it back to relationship, because that is the most important thing. And when we have that relationship, it creates in us an excitement for, like you're describing, it's a wedding. It's this beautiful coming together. And how wild would it be if we're, you know, walking down the aisle to our spouse and we're, like, shaking in our boots, like.
Jimmy Evans
Exactly.
Madison Pruitt Trout
You know, and terror and so scared. Or in thinking about all that we're leaving behind and, you know, wishing we were, you know, well, now I'm not going to get to do this or be with this person or it's like, no, don't you see what you're getting? Don't you see what you're walking towards? Don't you see the. The beautiful relationship that's taking place. And I love that you started this podcast, too, and saying that there will be no more sadness, no more pain. All of the things that we experience here on this earth, the loss, the grief, the suffering. That's right. There's going to be no more of.
Jimmy Evans
That and no, no more unmet needs. Jesus Christ is a perfect husband. You'll never feel unloved again. You'll never feel sad again. You'll never feel lonely again. You'll never have an unmet need. That Jesus it will be. The Bible says, eyes not seen, ears not heard. Nor is it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those who love him. It's a zillion times beyond anything. But you'll never hurt. You'll never. The. All of the. Think about all the relational anxieties we have every day, right? It all goes away.
Madison Pruitt Trout
It's so beautiful. It's so beautiful. I. I want to ask. So would you say that everything has happened that needs to happen in order for Jesus to come back? Right? Because there's all the signs that are talked about. Has everything taken place that needs to take place? And truly, at any moment, Jesus could rapture us absolutely.
Jimmy Evans
Every. The next major prophetic event, I believe, is the rapture of the church.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Wow.
Jimmy Evans
And so it could happen at any time now. And here's what I tell people. Madison, you may have heard me say this, because the last thing I want to do is be responsible for a generation of navel gazers, you know, that just sit, waiting for Jesus and don't do anything, right? Plan like Jesus isn't coming back for 100 years, but live like he's coming back today. And so don't. Don't, you know? And people say, well, do I save for retirement? Yeah, of course you do. You know, do I get married, have children and absolutely, you know, live your life. Plan like Jesus isn't coming back for our years, but live like he's coming back today. Prepare. Make sure that your heart is prepared for him to come back. And again. So Jesus said in Revelation 22, one of the last verses in the Bible, behold, I'm coming quickly. And my reward is with me to give to every man according to his work. This is another thing that people need to understand. We're saved by grace. We're judged by works. Okay, now, now, so let's just say I've done something wrong. And let's just say that, you know, Jesus said, you'll be judged by every word that comes out of your mouth. Okay? So let's just say I've done something wrong. All I have to do is say, lord, I repent, you know, and he forgives me. And so anything I've done wrong, the Lord will forgive. But let's just say that I'm living my life. I'm saved by grace. We're not saved by work. So every person who's saved knows Jesus is going to heaven. But when we get to heaven, there are some people that have used their time. Jesus said, if you've given a cup of cold water to one of these little ones, you won't lose your reward. You know, the littlest things we do are consequential.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
When we're kind to people. You don't have to climb Mount Everest to get God's attention. Being kind, you know, and especially in his name when we do it, you know, for the Lord. So every day we live our lives and we do what we do with them with understanding. I'm gonna stand before Jesus in judgment one day, and I want to do things that I'm rewarded for. And so in between now and some people, some of them say, well, I'm not ready for that. Well, you have time. And every day that goes by, you know, we just remember that we're here. Everything else we do, we can do better in heaven. There's not one thing here that we can't do better in heaven, except when people are Christ. The only thing that we do here that we can't do there is lead somebody Christ.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Wow.
Jimmy Evans
So any. Even if it's just our influence, medicine, even if it's just being a good influence on another person, then we live our lives with the understanding Jesus is coming. We're going to stand in front of him and he's going to judge us based on how we've lived our lives.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Man, that's so good. I would love for you to break down for someone who just truly this whole thing is. Is new or they just, they don't fully understand it. The Lamb's Book of Life, the. The Great White Throne, Judgment, the Bama Sea Judge the different judgments.
Jimmy Evans
Right.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And when you say we're all going to have to give an account, just what, what all of that means, just the breakdown of it.
Jimmy Evans
Perfect. Well, Second Corinthians 5 talks about the judgment seat of Christ. We must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ. Well, the judgment seat of Christ is the Bama seat. It's a low. Like a little platform. Okay. It's not this Great White Throne, the opposite of that. It's Very relational. And it's a. It's a throne of reward. Okay? And so when we go before the judgment seat of Christ, it's when I said we're rewarded based on our works. The judgment seat of Christ is not a judgment of punishments. We're not there to be punished. Okay? Now, there are some people that won't have a lot. Like, well, for example, the thief on the cross next to Jesus, all he did right was just to say, lord, remember me when you enter into your kingdom. You said, today you'll be with me in paradise. I don't think that the thief on the cross next to Jesus can have a lot of rewards, but Jesus is a reward, right? Heaven is a reward. Can I say something else, too? So let's just say that we get to heaven, and let's just say that so and so over here just has a great amount of reward and this other person does it. You know something about heaven, we're going to share. We won't be selfish. We won't. We won't be greedy. There. There are some people that have more than others, but. But we're all going to share. So when you. The judgment seat of Christ, when the rapture happens, Jesus said, I'm coming quickly. My reward is with me. So when he comes, we're going to go to the judgment seat of Christ. It is a judgment of seeing Jesus face to face. It's a judgment of everything being made right in our lives, all the bads forgiven. We never in eternity ever come to terms with anything bad that's ever happened. In other words, any bad that we've done. You know what? What? We get back Madison. One of the beautiful things, we get our innocence back for the first time. If someone's done something bad, not only they've forgiven. We're innocent. We. It's like we've never made any mistake. And then we, of course, we have our eternal bodies and we enter into eternity. So the judgment seat of Christ is something to look forward to. The great white. And everyone at the judgment seat of Christ is saved. Okay? The judge, the great White Throne, judgment. Everybody goes to hell, and there's no selection. And so they're there. And. And now there are degrees of hell, and people are surprised at that. Jesus said, it will be better for the people of Nineveh. The. The men of Nineveh will stand up in condemnation of this generation because they only had Jonah and you've got me. And he also said it'd be better for the days of. For Sodom and Gomorrah than the areas around Galilee where he ministered. And so when he says, this could be better than now, there's no good place in hell and there's no bad place in heaven. But when he says, it'll be worse than, you know, Adolf Hitler is in the center of hell, wherever that is suffering greatly. Osama bin Laden, a lot of people like that. But there will be people that go to hell, and it's going to be a bad place. The worst thing about hell is God's not there. And. But the Great White Throne Judgment, that happens in Revelation 20. And so. And that's when the heavens and the earth are destroyed. This last thing that happens, those are all the people of all the ages that don't know God. It's not a good judgment. And remember, it's a Great White Throne judgment. It's not a bamacy judgment. Okay. It's not this relational type of a thing where you get your reward, remember? And remember what I said? If you gave a cup of cold water, you get a reward for that. When we get to heaven, I think we'll be shocked at the things that we did that we really didn't think that were that important.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Amen.
Jimmy Evans
Just being kind to somebody.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And so you need. We need to look forward to that, most importantly, because it's the gateway into eternity. So the Great White Throne Judgment is. Is very, very bad. We won't be there. Okay. The famous seat is a good thing.
Madison Pruitt Trout
I love what you said about. I think we're gonna be surprised and pleased with what pleases the Lord and with the rewards that we get. Cause I. I think a lot of times in today's culture and world, we think the big things are what pleases God. And I'm not saying that the Lord can't be pleased with this podcast, but I think more than anything, he's like, what about that person you just passed by on the side of the street that you didn't, you know? And. Or. Or what about the. The person you shared the gospel with next to you on the plane or, you know, the. The way you loved on this widow who just lost, you know, their spouse? And. And I'm like, I think about that verse. It's like when you. It talks about the orphans and the widows and not being corrupted, but like the rest of the world, that's what pleases the Lord.
Jimmy Evans
That's right.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And, man, I. I just think that's so good and so true because for a lot of people, they're like, well, I don't get an opportunity to, you know, write a book or travel and speak and do all these. And it's like. But you have an opportunity to love your neighbor. You have an opportunity to share the gospel with the person that you're going to pass by at the grocery store. That' and that, that is so pleasing to the Father. And so I'm so glad that you touched on that. And one question you actually, you. You talked about this a little bit, because a question that I have is this is a very controversial topic about hell is. You know, some believe that hell is just eternal separation from God and there's not true torment because a good God wouldn't torment. Other people believe that hell is a fiery, tormenting place, that obviously you are separated from God, but you're also being tormented day and night and you're burning. And so I would love for you to share, you know, what your take is on. On that.
Jimmy Evans
Yeah. In Matthew 25, Jesus told. Tells about the judgment of the sheep and goats.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Okay.
Jimmy Evans
And so Matthew 24 is all about the end times. The disciples come up to him privately and say, hey, when, you know, when's the end gonna come? So Matthew 24, he's describing in detail that. And so let me read a couple of scriptures about hell here. So this is. He's talking to the sheep and the ghosts here. And it says, I was hungry, you gave me food. So. And so that's the sheep. Then he will also say to those on the left hand, depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry, you gave me no food, thirsty, you gave me no drink, stranger that you did not invite me in into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. But the next one is Revelation chapter 14. Now Revelation chapter 13 is the mark of the beast. And so Revelation 14 is talking about the penalty for those who receive the mark of the beast. And the mark of the beast isn't just a buy and sell. The mark of the beast is a repudiation of God and an allegiance with the Antichrist. And so this is talking about anyone who receives the the mark of the beast. And so if, if anyone worships the beast in his image and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out for strength into the cup of his indignation. He shall be tormented. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels. And in the presence of the lamb and the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever. And they have no rest, day or night, who worship the beast in his image, receives the mark in his name. It's false comfort, Madison, to say, well, hell's not a bad place. You know, Hell's not gonna be really bad. Hell is gonna be a place for eternal torment. And again, there are levels of hell. Now, this is talking about. People receive the Mark, but it's a place of eternal torment. That's. That's what the Bible says. That's what Jesus said. And so we just need to, I think, in. In reality, thank. Thank God. How simple it is to get saved. Yeah, I mean, you know, if you confess with your mouth. Romans 10, 9, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart God raised from the dead, you'll be saved. How easy God has made it. You know, he came down. Religion is us trying to work our way to God, which one ever can. Christianity is God coming down to us. He did all the work.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And now all we have to do is just bow our hearts and open our hearts to Jesus. And when we do that, it changes all of eternity. So why wouldn't I do that? I had a friend of mine, his dad was 90 years old, mean as a junkyard dog. And my friend was at his bedside. My friend was very godly, prayed for his dad all the time. And he was at his dad's bedside. And his father just a very immoral, bad man. And he said, dad, before you take your last breath, I want you to pray with me to receive Jesus. His dad said, no. And see, we have a choice.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And God's not going to violate our free will. And Jesus said in Revelation 3. 20, behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, see the knobs on our side? He's not going to kick the door down and violate our free will and us wake up in heaven one day and say, I didn't want to be here. Yeah, you made me come. I'm a hostage. No, everybody in heaven's there because they wanted to be. And so it's something that is so easy for us. Hell is 1,000% avoidable.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah. Amen. And I love that you put it like that, because I do think that so many who choose not to follow Jesus, a lot of their mindset is, well, why would a good God send people to hell? Would be their statement, send people to hell, and I'd love for you to Even just dive into that a little bit more. Of what? Like, what would you say to the person who says, why would a good God send people to hell?
Jimmy Evans
In Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28, there was this being called Lucifer, who was created perfect, no sin, nature. He had a perfect God. He was a angel covering cherub, musical instruments built into his body, gloriously beautiful. That was part of the reason he fell, is because of all the attention he got. And in the presence of Jesus, with no sin nature, never had a bad daddy, never had a bad day. He rebelled and took a third of the angels in heaven with him, according to Revelation 12. And why would. Why on earth would they do that to a perfect God without a sin nature? Okay, Pride, you know? Then he created two perfect beings in the Garden of Eden, never had a bad day. Bad daddy created perfect in the presence of God in a paradise. And they rebelled against him, okay? He gave us a free will, and there are consequences of a free will. All the pain and suffering we see in the world today is not because of God. It's because of us. It's because of Adam and Eve. And so they rebelled against God for no reason whatsoever. When Satan came to them and said, the devil and the serpent, he said, you see that fruit over there? Tree? If you eat that, you'll become like God. See what they were offering? What he was offering them was independence. You don't have to depend on him for direction or for orders. You eat that fruit like there, you'll become independent. All we like sheep, have gone astray is what Isaiah 53 says. Isaiah 53 is where it talks about the crucifixion of Jesus. All we like sheep, have gone astray. We've gone our own way. But the Lord has laid the iniquity of us all upon him. See, the sin is independence. And so because of Satan's rebellion against God, his independence against God, he was judged because of Adam and Eve's independence, rebellion against God, they were judged all the suffering in the world days because of that. It's not because of God. And if there is no hell, some people believe in universalism. All roads lead to the same path. Doesn't matter which road you choose. It all ends up the same place. So you're telling me that Hitler and Abraham are going to be sitting together in heaven and there was no reward for Abraham's righteousness and no penalty for Hitler's disobedience? See, there's no justice if that's the truth. There's no difference between the pedophile and the axe murderer and the person and Mother Teresa and the person over here that gave their life to helping people. We have a choice. We have a free will. And if we make that free will dependent upon Jesus, there is no help. You say, well, how would a loving God do this? A loving God gave us a free will. Without that, we would be robots. We would be microwave ovens. We would be vacuums. And there. God does not value the love of someone who has no choice. You know, you wouldn't.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And so is I. What makes me so thrilled about my wife Karen. We've been 52 years, about three weeks, is she doesn't have to love me, but she does. The value is choice. And so we have a choice. A loving God gave us a choice. Now, if he wouldn't have, I wouldn't respect him. If I had to love him. Think about that.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And in the Garden of Eden. Here's the beauty of the Garden of Eden. There was only one trade that was off limits. There wasn't a million.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
There wasn't 17. There was only one little bitty thing in the Garden of Eden God said they couldn't do. And they went and did it. Okay. He didn't trap them. He created this wonderful paradise gave him. Perfect. Everything was perfect, but it wasn't good enough. So we. We just have to understand, God is never the problem. He's the. He's a wonderful, loving God. And you say, why would a loving God send people to hell? Whatever. A loving God has established consequences. And thank God through Jesus and through his blood, we can be forgiven of those consequences.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Amen.
Jimmy Evans
If we, the Apostle Paul, persecuted Christians.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
Sent people to their death. And he was forgiven. The consequences of his sin were forgiven. So this loving God has created a free path to heaven to remove all the consequences of our sins. And all we have to do is acknowledge him.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And so the. The Every. Every angle that you look at it from. If you look at it honestly, God comes out as being a wonderful God.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Amen. Amen. So God is so good. The devil is horrible. The Devil, Okay. The Antichrist. Can you get me into. So Revelation talks about, you know, you got the beast, you got the Antichrist, you got the. The, like. I don't even know the dragons. You got all kinds of things going on in Revelation. Can you dive into a little bit of that? Like, is the Antichrist here today?
Jimmy Evans
I think so, yes. Now, that's just my opinion. Yes. He. He will step onto the world scene. Daniel 9 is a very important chapter in The Bible, because this is where we see the prophecy of the Antichrist. And it says that he is going to come from the revived Roman empire. Jesus, Daniel 9. Gabriel is talking to Daniel and he says the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Okay, well, Jerusalem was destroyed in AD 70 by the Romans. Okay. The Titus Roman general came in 87. He killed over a million Jews, destroyed the city of Jerusalem, the temple, and then the Jews were scattered around the world. Okay, so we know for sure Based on Daniel 9, the prince who is to come, he's of those people. So there's going to be. It also says he will confirm a covenant. This is Daniel 9 again. He will confirm a covenant with the many for one week. In the middle of the week, he'll break that covenant. He'll go in and commit the abomination of desolation, declaring that he's God again. This is talking about the Antichrist. The tribulation begins when the Antichrist appears on the world scene and he confirms a peace treaty with Israel. Now, Madison, think about what's happening in the world right now. Yeah, there are 16 million Jews in the world. There are 8 billion people in the world. A billion to a thousand million. There are only 16 million Jews in the world. And they're at the center of the world attention every single day. That's what the Bible said would happen in the end times. Okay, well, the tribulation begins that seven years. He'll confirm a covenant with the many. That's Israel for one week. That's seven years. That word there means years. A period of sevens. Seven years. So there's going to be. Imagine right now with what's happening in Israel, someone solving that problem. Think about that person in their status in the world. Well, the Antichrist is going to solve the Israel problem. He's going to solve the Middle east problem. One fell swoop and Israel will think that he's their friend. He's not their friend. He's literally the devil incarnate. When you say the dragon, Revelation 13 says the dragon gives him his authority. There's this chilling verse, this chilling verse that you've read, and it's time at the Last Supper. And it says, Satan entered Judas.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yes, I just read this the other day.
Jimmy Evans
Okay, it's just. You're chilling. Take a shower or something. So Satan will enter him. The Antichrist will be the devil incarnate. And so he will just have this supernatural charisma. The supernatural. There's the false prophet.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And these are Human beings.
Jimmy Evans
These are human beings. Human beings, yes, they are. Because this always refers to him as he. 2nd Thessalonians, chapter 2. The apostle Paul says he will sit in the temple of God proclaiming that he is God. That's the abomination of desolation. So for three and a half years, actually, the two witnesses. This is Revelation 11, okay? Most people believe that's Moses and Elisha. Revelation 11 says for three and a half years, they basically rule the world. They're on the Temple Mount now. The Antichrist, for the first three and a half years of the Tribulation, he is supposedly the friends of Israel and they believe he is. And he is rising to power politically and so on, so forth. He's right. But the two witnesses, no one can kill him. It says if anybody tries to kill them, they're killed in like manner. Says they call down fire from heaven to the inhabitants of the earth. They cause rain not to fall on people they don't like. And so they're protecting. What's happening is they're protecting the temple builders rebuilding the temple. And they're also protecting the sacrifices on the. See, Daniel 9 says he stopped sacrifice and offering. The first thing he does is stop sacrifice and offering. So when the Jews rebuild the temple, they're ready to rebuild it right now. When the Jews rebuild the temple, they're going to start sacrificing animals. Now what do you think that Peter's going to do when they're. When they're broadcasting the slaughter of animals on the Temple Mount every day? The world will go crazy. They can't touch them. The two witnesses. It says if anyone tries to kill them, they're killed in like manner. They call that fire. So let me tell you how hated they are. So the antichrist, three and a half years, 42 months. 42 months into the tribulation, the antichrist kills the two witnesses. Now this is how the Antichrist rises to power. The two witnesses are it for the first three and a half years. If 40 after 42 months, he kills the two witnesses and lays their bodies in the streets of Jerusalem for three and a half days. Let me tell you amazing scripture. Amazing scripture, okay? Now this is before technology. Think about the technology 2,000 years ago. It says the whole world will gloat over them and look at their dead bodies. Okay? The whole world. So Antichrist kills the two witnesses, lays their bodies in the street of Jerusalem. And it says they're so hated that the world sends gifts to each other. There's a. Because they protected the temple, sacrifice and all that stuff. So. And it says, and the whole world gloats over them. I'm sorry, the inhabitants of the earth glowed over them. Medicine. So you know how many months or years it would take 2000 years to go to get a message around the world in real time. This is a three and a half day event in real time. Revelation 11 says in real time, all the people of the earth glowed over them. Today, 6.92 billion people on a smartphone. Not a cell phone, a smartphone. The last 10 years is the first time in human history Revelation 11 can come true. Do you think about that? The technology involved in that? So the Antichrist rises to power. Revelation 13 says that is when he commits the abomination of desolation. He enters into a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, proclaims himself God. They set up an image there. Cause the image to speak, cause supernatural things to happen. Evidently the Antichrist has been shot or killed somehow and he comes back to life. It says the world marvels over him who had. Had. Had been slain and came back to life. The false prophet is the one who enforces the mark of the beast. And the false prophet is one who says, unless you take the mark in your right hand or forehead, you can't buy or sell. And people ask me about Amazon Palm, you know, going to Amazon, you're not going to go to hell if you do that. The technology is neutral. The problem with the mark of the beast is not that it's a financial. It's just. This is a financial convenience. Hey, put this in your hand. You can buy yourself. This is an allegiance. Revelation 14 says, if you receive the mark, you can't be forgiven because it's a renunciation of Christ.
Madison Pruitt Trout
So you will know that you're receiving 100%.
Jimmy Evans
Yeah, the, the mark is a, is a belief. It's not, it's not just a. You have to walk in and say, I believe in the Antichrist and I swear loyalty to him.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Because some people, yeah, there's been some fear around. Like you're saying that the Amazon scan your put the, or like even the, the COVID vaccine, there's all kinds of stuff out there. Well, like am I gonna know that I'm receiving the beast?
Jimmy Evans
Well, if you look at a barcode or anything you buy, it's 666. There's a 6 at the beginning of 6 in the middle 60 in. Well, that's just the world system and the way things is not a problem. If you receive. First of all, if you're A believer. You won't be here, okay, Unless you didn't receive him. And you're here after that when you receive the mark of the beast. Revelation 20 says, I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because they would not take the mark of the beast nor worship the Antichrist. And it says, they were brought back to life and they ruled and reigned with Jesus for a thousand years. I saw the souls of those beheaded. Think about that, Madison. The Antichrist will be so cruel and so beast, call the beast that if, if you don't take that mark, see that line over there? We're gonna cut you out. See? Think about that. Think about the how, Terry, you have to feed your family.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And you have to make a choice that many believers have made over the centuries. Am I going to swear allegiance to the beast or am I going to stay true to Jesus?
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And it's an eternal decision.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And when talking about the dragon and the beast, are these all metaphorical?
Jimmy Evans
Yes.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Okay.
Jimmy Evans
Yeah, they're. They're metaphors. The, the beast is simply talking Daniel. You know, throughout the book of Daniel, there are metaphors about talking about world kingdoms that are to come. And the beast, it's dreadful. Daniel 7, this dreadful, dreadful beast. Never seen anything like this horrible beast that's describing the nature of the Antichrist. He is going to be the worst human being in human history. Literally the devil incarnate. This, this man will destroy billions of people's lives, slaughter people in mass. And so the dragon is the devil. Revelation 13 of this beast came out of the sea and he had the authority of the dragon. Okay. But the, the beast, it's just showing that says the, the Antichrist spoke like a lamb, you know? You know, but he had the nature of the beast. And so the, A lot of the metaphors in the New Testament or in. I'm sorry, in the book of Revelation. I believe in dispensational interpretation of the Bible, which means a literal interpretation. Okay. And what I mean believe that is I believe the Bible is a literal book and I believe that prophecy is literal. But when the Bible uses symbolism, it's talking about something literal. So when the Bible talks about the Antichrist being a beast, it's still talking about a literal person.
Madison Pruitt Trout
I love that you explained that, because I do think that that's very confusing. When you're reading through it, you're like, okay, so Lord of the Rings, is there literally a 12 headed dragon coming at you? You're just trying to understand. And so I'm glad that you Touched on that. Okay. I. I'm loving where this conversation is going. And I think as we are, like, kind of wrapping up, I'd love to just touch on a question that I even think that I had a lot growing up, which is, like, whenever you. Whenever you die, what happens? Like, when you die, are you. You know, there's like, all kinds of different viewpoints on it. Are you just, like, sitting there? Are you immediately taken up? Are you sent somewhere for a little bit of time and then you're going to heaven or hell later? What. What is your viewpoint on that?
Jimmy Evans
Yeah, a great question. Okay, so Jesus told a story, a true story. What? The parable about a man, a beggar that died in. A rich man named Lazarus lived in the house. And he said, these two men died, the beggar and the rich man. Lazarus, I'm sorry, Died. So the rich man gets down to hell. I'm sorry. Abraham's bosom. And Lazarus is there, okay? The beggars there. And he's over in Abraham's bosom, and he's being comforted in paradise. And there's a chasm in between. And on the other side, the rich man was over there, and he said, would somebody please put their finger in some water and come touch my tongue because I'm in agony, okay? And Abraham said, I'm sorry, we can't go. We can't change sides here. And so that was. That was Hades in the. That was Abraham's bosom in the Old Testament. So in Ephesians 4, Jesus died. And it says he went and preached to the souls who were in prison. Okay? But Ephesians 4 says he descended, then he ascended and let. Kept. Led captivity captive. Paul says in Second Corinthians 12, I know a man who 14 years ago that went to heaven, was caught up in the third heaven. He said, I don't know if I was in my body, right? In my body. All I know is I went to the third heaven and I saw things that were inexpressible, okay? I went up. Third heavens, okay? The first heaven is our atmosphere. The second heaven is outer space. The third heaven is the presence of God. So what Jesus did is he changed the address of heaven, but after he was resurrected, he went down into Abraham's bosom, took all those people and took them up to the third heaven, okay? Hell is now in the center of the earth. Okay? People descend down there. Okay? So heaven is in the presence of God. So 2nd Corinthians 5 says, in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed. With our body from heaven. And it says, while we are here, to be present in the body is to be absent from the Lord. Okay? And so Jesus said to the thief on the cross, today you'll be with me in paradise. Well, the thief on the cross, his body died. Okay. This is not the real me. That's not the real you. I read yesterday, my quiet time, where this ruler, the synagogue ruler's daughter died. And they went and got Jesus. And Jesus was going to his house, and when he was on his way to his house, they said, don't, don't come. She's already dead. Jesus said, no, she's sleeping. And they started making fun of Jesus. And he went into the house and they were saying, no, she's dead. He said, she's asleep. And they were laughing at him. And he walked in and prayed for. And it says, and her spirit returned. Okay, well, the real you is your spirit. Okay? See, we have spiritual eyes, we have spiritual ears. We have a spiritual mouth, we have a spiritual heart. So when we die, this is just a port. A tent is a portable structure. This is just a portable structure that houses the real us. So when we die, this body stops breathing. Jesus said to Mary and Martha, I'm the resurrection of the life. He who believes in me will never die. He lives and believes me will never die. Okay, we don't die. Christians never die. So when my heart stops, see, there'll never be. A lot of people fear death. They just have a dread fear of death. We can't die. Christians can't die. Yeah, so when my eyes close here, they open there.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Wow.
Jimmy Evans
When I take my last breath here, I take my first breath there. When I stop feeling here, I start feeling there. Everything comes alive there. So when I die, my spirit departs into the presence of the Lord. Okay, so Remember 1st Thessalonians 4 that we started with. The Lord will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and trumpet of God. The dead in Christ will rise first. Okay, wait a minute. What do you mean, rise? Jimmy, you just said they're up there. Now you're saying they're down here. Their bodies are here. Okay, so my mom and dad are both passed away. Both very strong believers. And when we both died, they look terrible. My mom was 94. My dad had six cancers. You know, they were just. Their bodies were just shot. Well, their bodies will come out of the grave and be reunited with their spirits. She is a pastor. I've done many funerals. And so when we bury a person, we Bury with her head to the west. And while we do that is because Jesus is going to come from the east to the west, and we bury them with their head to the west so they come up facing Jesus. And so, you know, you say, well, you have to do that. No, I'm have to do that. He'll, he'll, he'll take care of it. We're just trying to make it a little easier.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And so our bodies are important because. And you say, what if, what if we're cremated? Jesus is going to take care of it. But our bodies will be reunited with our spirits, but our bodies will be changed. First Corinthians 15. Paul says, this corruption must put on incorruption. This mortal must put on immortality. We are sown in dishonor. We're raised in glory. We're sown in weakness. We're raised in power. And so when a person dies, I'm talking about a Christian, their spirit is in the presence of Jesus. When the Rapture happens, our spirits and our bodies united. But Paul says the dead in Christ rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Now there will be a generation of people who never die. If we are the Rapture generation, it means we are alive and remain. And that just means our bodies are instantaneously transformed into our glorious eternal bodies. We go into the presence of Jesus. And so now people who die that aren't believers, they go to hell, they go into Hades. That place, it's a bad place. And that place that the rich man went to.
Madison Pruitt Trout
And so, and that's as instant as us waking up.
Jimmy Evans
And have, have you ever, have you ever heard the testimonies? And, and you know, you can't go to the bank with all this stuff, but there are testimonies. You on YouTube, the people who died went to hell. Yeah, people went to heaven. There's a, an atheist who died and went to hell. He was a professor at a university and he died and went to hell. And the Lord saved him and allowed him to get saved. His wife divorced him and he said, I'll never forget it. He's an evangelist for Jesus today. Those are the kind of testimonies I believe. Okay. Don Piper is a very, very well respected person who died for an hour and a half. He has a book that's called 90 Minutes in Heaven. And he died, went to heaven for an hour and a half. Very credible report of him actually clinically dying and coming back. And he describes Heaven just vividly. Wow. And so Lord sent him back again to be an evangelist. And so, but I believe that when we die, our spirits, the real us, goes into the place that we've chosen. You know, either in the presence of Jesus, that we've chosen on purpose, or away from Jesus, we've chosen by default. So.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Wow. And in heaven, will we know our family? Will we know our spouses? Will we be married to our spouse? That's one of the, that is one of the biggest questions.
Jimmy Evans
I get it all the time.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
Let me go ahead and remind me of this if I forget it because I want to go back, Smith, because you said, do we go to this place for a while when we die? Well, that's purgatory. And that's what the Catholics teach. And there was indulgences through the Middle Ages that the Catholics sold. And I'm not saying this all Catholics are bad because there's some precious Catholics out there. But the institution of the Catholic Church would sell indulgences. And they would come to you and say, well, Madison, you're your Uncle Bob, he's a bad guy and he's going to spend a long time in purgatory unless you pay us $100,000. And if you pay us $100,000, well, God's going to let him out. Well, that was a big business. Okay. There's no purgatory. The Bible never talks about a, you know, intermediate state where we go to until that's. So there's heaven and hell. And Jesus said, today you'll be with me in paradise. To a bad dude.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And so, so let me ask you a question again. Make sure I'll answer it.
Madison Pruitt Trout
The one you just asked, Will you know your spouse in heaven? Will you know your family in heaven?
Jimmy Evans
Well, you don't know your spouse now and you don't know your family. You just think you know, because we're all, we're all so guarded. We all have such issues. We don't know ourselves really. You'll finally know your spouse in heaven. You'll finally know your children. I love, I love the Old Testament where it says, and they were gathered to their ancestors. God gathers us in families. You know, I've had people say, well, I know my wife in heaven, you know, well, no, my mother in heaven. We're going to know each other. It's just going to be the most beautiful thing. There's no hang ups, there's no fears, there's no lying, there's no. Just all the things we do as human beings, I will finally know my family. But we'll be together in families. So you say, well, why be married to my spouse? Okay, well, so in heaven we're married to Jesus. You will be 1 million times closer to your wife or your husband than you are now. The feeling that you have in heaven will be the greatest intimacy, the greatest closeness, the greatest knowledge, the greatest security. A million times closer than today. But we're married to Jesus. Okay? The focus isn't us. The focus is Jesus. Marriage today, according to Ephesians 5, is just a picture of our relationship with Jesus in eternity. Okay. Paul was talking about marriage in Ephesians 5. He says, why should. I'm talking about Christ in the church. And so you. Because people may feel so I have a guy that he's been married several times and his wife said, which wife are you going to live with? You know, so sometimes we get a little bit, you know, I promise it's just going to be. There'll be no jealousy. Can you imagine One of the great things about heaven, there's no jealousy, there's no envy, there's no insecurity.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
There's not. You will cross the room, you see somebody, somebody going, oh my gosh, I'm just so thankful that's going away. All of our hang ups.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
We will have this beautiful, beautiful. They'll never be like in heaven. You have a picnic. No ants, no sunburns.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
No bad food, no weird Uncle Harry. You know, there's just. And no hurt. No one says anything inappropriate. No one gets up mad and goes home. It's just this wonderful, wonderful place of joy and pleasure forevermore. And so, you know, and again, that's just a real question. I love that question. Because that's just, that's just something we think about. And Karen says to me, she says, you better live with me in heaven. So yes, I want to live with her in heaven and I will be with her for eternity in heaven. But the focus is on Jesus. And when you get to heaven, we will realize how much we don't know each other. I'm saying yeah, is we will, we will be in heaven going, oh my goodness, finally, right?
Madison Pruitt Trout
You know, God's perfect design.
Jimmy Evans
We have a conversation completely unguarded.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Right.
Jimmy Evans
You know how long the conversation is going to be for a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion years. And it just started.
Madison Pruitt Trout
That's the mind blowing stuff. Thinking about forever, thinking about eternity.
Jimmy Evans
And that gets into another issue. God isn't in time. Time is. You only measure what is Limited. And Adam and Eve, they would have never measured time if they hadn't sinned. But once they sinned, time became a constraint. But God is not in time. God created time and space. They're created dimensions. That's what equals MC square. The theory of relativity proves that time and space are created dimensions. Well, the creator of that is God. So when we get to heaven, time is taken out. There's no more time. There's no thought of how long something takes because time is unlimited. You only measure. We don't measure oxygen mask because we can breathe as hard as we want to. And here it doesn't matter whether we have as much oxygen you want. Let's go scuba diving. If you go scuba diving, you better measure it, you know, and you're going to pay for it.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Right?
Jimmy Evans
So we're once God, once Jesus comes, we're entering to eternity. There's no measure of time. It's just everything is going to be.
Madison Pruitt Trout
So wonderful, so beautiful, so beautiful. Well, as we last question I want to ask is just, you know, from a very practical standpoint of how do we maximize the time that we have on earth here? We're not promised tomorrow. So how can we live faithfully in the here and now while also keeping our eyes on eternity and not getting so caught up in this world that we forget that we are actually just. This is just the warmup, but we have the forever that we're. We're living for or supposed to be living for.
Jimmy Evans
Yeah, I just think it's just a personal relationship with Jesus. And you wake up in the morning and you read the Bible and you pray and my wife and I got saved at 19. I didn't understand the Bible, you know, God was a distant, you know, just. I didn't know how to relate to God all that. The Psalm 107:20 says God sent his word to heal us and to deliver us from all of our destructions. Reading the Bible every day and praying and staying close to God is what healed my wife and I. Jesus is real. And when you spend time with him, you fall in love with him. That is how you keep gravitating back to him. It's not what you have to do, it's what you want to do. That is what keeps your life centered. That's what keeps your, your priorities right. That's what keeps your focus. Right. Without that personal relationship with Jesus and it doesn't mean you're not going to heaven. Okay. Without that personal relationship with Jesus, you're going to drift, you know, the world just becomes attractive. There's so much junk out there. So I look back in. In my life, I got saved a week before I got married, and I look back in my life and absolutely, totally, it was our commitment to Christ. The other thing I say is you become like the people you're around, and you need to find strong believers that you're in fellowship with. If your friends are not strong believers, you still love them. Your best friends should all be committed believers that are living for the Lord.
Madison Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Jimmy Evans
And you're going to be like the people that you're around. And if you. If you just have a good relationship with Jesus and some good godly friends around you, he keeps you grounded. And just every day you just live for the Lord and. And, you know, do what you feel like he's telling you to do, and you're going to be fine.
Madison Pruitt Trout
So, so good. Like, we started this podcast just talking about, you know, we want this to be hopeful and we want, you know, this conversation to leave you prepared and not scared. And so I don't want you walking away from this conversation, you know, freaked out. I want you walking away from this conversation excited and informed and excited to share it with other people. And so thank you so much for. For coming on.
Jimmy Evans
Loved it, Madison.
Madison Pruitt Trout
It was so good. It was encouraging to me. It was a good reminder to me. And I love you touched on this at the beginning. But just in the presence of the Lord, there is great joy. And it says that in. In God's word, that in the presence of the Lord, there is fullness of joy, eternal pleasures at his right hand. And so just a reminder to you guys, man, in. In the presence of the Lord, there is there. You're not lacking anything. There is not. You're not missing out. You're not. God's not withholding. You have everything you want, need, desire, what you were created for. And so heaven is that. And even here on earth, like, we can enter his presence. And so just continuing to remember that. And so I am so grateful for you, for your ministry and for this conversation. And I'm going to include his books and different ways that you guys can access just more of Jimmy Evans and so you guys can go and check out there's. I could talk to him, truly for hours. Podcast Summary: "Are We Living in the End Times? with Jimmy Evans"
Stay True with Madison Prewett Troutt – Episode Released: May 26, 2025
In this profound episode of Stay True with Madison Prewett Troutt, host Madison welcomes esteemed author and speaker Jimmy Evans to delve into the compelling topic of end times. Madison expresses her deep admiration for Jimmy, recounting how his podcast "End Times" accompanied her during lengthy road trips in college, fostering a lasting connection between them. The episode sets the stage for an enlightening conversation aimed at providing hope and clarity amidst discussions that often evoke fear.
Madison Pruitt Troutt opens the discussion with a pivotal question: "Do you believe that we are living in the end times?"
Jimmy Evans affirms this belief, stating at [00:03]:
"The last 10 years is the first time in human history Revelation 11 can come true."
Evans elaborates on how significant geopolitical and prophetic events align with biblical signs, indicating that the end times are not a distant future but a present reality.
A central theme of the episode is the distinction between the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
Madison inquires at [00:08]:
"Can you talk about why you believe that we will be raptured as believers before the seven years of tribulation?"
Jimmy responds at [00:14]:
"The rapture is Jesus coming to take us out. It's a private event between us and the Lord in the air."
He emphasizes the Pre-Tribulation viewpoint, arguing that believers will be taken up before a seven-year period of tribulation, characterized by immense hardship and the rise of the Antichrist.
Additionally, at [11:22], Jimmy clarifies:
"The Rapture is Jesus coming to take us out, and the Second Coming is a public event where we return with Him."
This distinction underscores the belief that the Rapture is a secretive removal of believers from Earth, while the Second Coming is a grand, visible return of Christ to judge and reign.
The conversation naturally progresses to the nature of Hell and divine judgment.
At [00:37], Madison poses a challenging question:
"Why would a good God send people to hell?"
Jimmy addresses this at [00:37]:
"Hell is going to be a place of eternal torment. The worst thing about hell is God's not there. Hell is 1000% avoidable."
He argues that Hell exists as a consequence of free will and rebellion against God, emphasizing that a loving God offers salvation and that Hell remains a choice rather than a divine imposition.
Further elaborating at [40:48], Jimmy reinforces the severity of Hell:
"Hell is gonna be a place for eternal torment... there's a place of eternal torment."
This discussion highlights the belief in Hell as a real, dreadful place of separation from God, firmly rooted in biblical scripture.
The episode delves deep into eschatological concepts, exploring what believers can expect after death and at the final judgment.
Madison asks at [59:37]:
"Will you know your spouse in heaven? Will you know your family in heaven?"
Jimmy responds passionately:
"In heaven, we're married to Jesus. You will be 1 million times closer to your wife or your husband than you are now... the focus is Jesus."
He explains that relationships will be enhanced in heaven, free from earthly imperfections, allowing believers to experience divine intimacy and fulfillment.
Discussing judgment, Jimmy contrasts the Judgment Seat of Christ with the Great White Throne Judgment:
Judgment Seat of Christ: A relational and reward-based judgment for believers, focusing on their deeds and faithfulness.
"Second Corinthians 5 talks about the judgment seat of Christ... it's a throne of reward."
Great White Throne Judgment: A definitive judgment for all non-believers leading to eternal separation from God.
"The Great White Throne Judgment... it's a judgment of punishments... People go to hell, it's a bad place."
These insights provide a clear framework of Christian beliefs regarding post-death existence and ultimate judgment.
A significant portion of the discussion centers on the Antichrist and the prophetic revelations from the Bible.
Jimmy outlines the characteristics and rise of the Antichrist:
"The Antichrist will confirm a covenant with Israel, solve geopolitical issues, and ultimately declare himself as God."
He interprets the symbols from Revelation and Daniel, explaining the literal emergence of the Antichrist as a charismatic leader who deceives many and orchestrates global dominance.
At [58:05], he warns:
"The Antichrist will be so cruel ... he will commit the abomination of desolation."
Jimmy emphasizes that understanding these symbols metaphorically leads to confusion, advocating for a literal interpretation to grasp the impending realities of the end times.
As the conversation nears its conclusion, the focus shifts to practical advice on living a faithful life in anticipation of the end times.
Jimmy advises:
"A personal relationship with Jesus... reading the Bible every day and praying... staying close to God."
He underscores the importance of daily spiritual practices and surrounding oneself with strong believers to remain grounded and focused amidst worldly distractions.
Madison echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the need to balance present responsibilities with eternal priorities:
"How can we live faithfully in the here and now while also keeping our eyes on eternity..."
Jimmy responds by highlighting the significance of love, kindness, and living out one's faith in everyday interactions, reinforcing that eternal rewards are tied to daily actions and relationships.
The episode wraps up with a message of hope and encouragement. Madison and Jimmy reaffirm the beauty of the promised eternal life, free from pain and suffering, where believers will experience unending joy and intimate relationships with God and each other.
Jimmy eloquently states:
"In heaven, there is fullness of joy, eternal pleasures at His right hand... it's a wonderful, wonderful place of joy and pleasure forevermore."
Madison closes by urging listeners to embrace these truths, stay true to their faith, and share the message of hope with others.
Jimmy Evans [00:14]: "The rapture is Jesus coming to take us out. It's a private event between us and the Lord in the air."
Jimmy Evans [00:37]: "Hell is going to be a place of eternal torment. The worst thing about hell is God's not there. Hell is 1000% avoidable."
Jimmy Evans [11:22]: "The Rapture is Jesus coming to take us out, and the Second Coming is a public event where we return with Him."
Jimmy Evans [59:37]: "In heaven, we're married to Jesus. You will be 1 million times closer to your wife or your husband than you are now... the focus is Jesus."
Jimmy Evans [68:25]: "Without a personal relationship with Jesus, you're going to drift... living for the Lord keeps your priorities right."
Jimmy Evans [70:38]: "There's not going to be jealousy, envy, or insecurity in heaven. It's a place of pure joy and fulfillment."
Jimmy Evans [72:40]: "God isn't in time. Time is a constraint... in heaven, time is taken out."
"Are We Living in the End Times? with Jimmy Evans" offers a comprehensive exploration of Christian eschatology, blending theological insights with practical living advice.
