Savannah Labrant
If God were to take away my social media or if God were to take away my house or anything, would I still be okay?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
How do you guys keep Jesus at the center when the world is pulling you in so many different directions?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
People would see yalls life and be like oh my gosh they have millions of followers but it's like you guys love Jesus, love each other and love your kids more than anything. Was it hard for you with just like men in the past that hadn't been like just the most godly leading spiritually? Was that hard to enter into this relationship and like trust me cold.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
And what were you thinking at 19 years old girl with a child like what are you thinking throughout this whole.
Savannah Labrant
Time he thought that I was like married. He he still had no idea cuz we didn't have like deep talks about anything at that point.
Cole Labrant
You know.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Day one you said husband wasn't around.
Savannah Labrant
Or serious boyfriend or something.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Hey, cool.
Cole Labrant
I'm just hanging out with pretty girl.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
What's up, guys? Welcome back to another episode of Stay True podcast. I am your host, Mad Pruitt Trout, and I'm in the podcast studio with some of my very favorite people in the world. So I'm so excited for this episode because we have Cole and Savannah labridge.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Let's go.
Cole Labrant
Hello. We're here. We're here.
Savannah Labrant
So excited. This is only our second podcast you guys ever.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
We're honored.
Cole Labrant
But you guys are right, I think. I don't know, someone's gonna like, call us out for like.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
But you guys do a lot of, like, social media.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
YouTube.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That's kind of how you guys got started. Well, actually, Vine.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh boy, Vine.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I think it's so amazing just where God has brought all of us and just our past journeys with social media, but also, like now. A lot of what we're gonna talk about today is just like walking in our true God given purpose and how we can steward, well, all that God has entrusted to us. You guys have a very large platform. How you got those platforms, you know, is fun. It's wild, it's beautiful, it's cool. But also how you steward, steward the platform is so beautiful. And you guys point other people to Jesus, which I just think we all can learn from. Because no matter what we have in front of us, no matter what our, you know, platform may look like or our sphere or our purpose, we can use what God has given us and steward it well for him. And so we're gonna be talking about that. But something fun that I wanna do. We've been doing this, a part of this series for Dare to Be True series. We've been doing this little truth or dare game.
Savannah Labrant
Funny.
Cole Labrant
Truth or right?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I know. So it's sounds more intense.
Savannah Labrant
We have not looked at this yet.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
No, they have not seen this. They don't even know what the game is. I have to read that. Well, first of all, I have to say you have to choose truth or dare. So I guess there may be a game, there may not be a game. Deciding upon if you choose truth or.
Savannah Labrant
Dare, what are you picking?
Cole Labrant
Oh, I don't know yet. I haven't been asked.
Savannah Labrant
Oh, okay.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Do you want to choose truth?
Cole Labrant
Truth or dare?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Dare.
Savannah Labrant
Dare.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Dare.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
You're daring.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Feels.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
It feels right.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Are you good with the dare?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I'm going dare.
Savannah Labrant
Okay, cool.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I will say there will be a consequence to the loser of the game.
Cole Labrant
How do you lose? You don't do the dare.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Well, no, no, you do the dare. There's a. There's a game.
Cole Labrant
You can do the dare. And the consequence.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, my goodness.
Cole Labrant
Wow.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
This is overwhelming. Okay.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay. Here's the game explained. Ready?
Cole Labrant
Yep.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay, this is the five second rule game.
Cole Labrant
Oh, five seconds.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Just five seconds. No, no one can look at theirs yet. Each player has to answer the prompt within five seconds.
Cole Labrant
Okay.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Like that.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
And if you don't complete it in time, there's a consequence. I can't tell you what the consequences yet because it just leaves for a mystery. Don't, don't, don't. Okay, so no, the thing is actually is you're gonna read the prompt and he has to answer what you read in five seconds. Does that make sense? The timer will start after you read the prompt.
Savannah Labrant
Okay.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
And this is. And this is every man.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
And I don't say anything.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
We're all against each other.
Savannah Labrant
Okay. Name three of the ten commandments.
Cole Labrant
Oh. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. And thou shalt not.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
No. Who's the last one?
Cole Labrant
Don't steal.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Don't steal.
Cole Labrant
Don't steal.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
You got it. Borderline at the buzzer.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Should we give it to him?
Cole Labrant
Come on, help me suck.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Grant, you determine at the buzzer. Listen, I feel like he got the shot off as soon as the buzzer.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Oh, okay.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah. So the ball was in the air as the buzzer went off.
Cole Labrant
How many. How much time was I at?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That was five seconds. You probably the last one. The timer had been going off for like, one second. But we're. But granted you Grace.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That made me so nervous.
Cole Labrant
You should have, like, big, like.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah, that's fair. Should I turn it up and, like.
Savannah Labrant
Let him hear it? Okay, that's pretty good.
Cole Labrant
That.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
So we'll.
Savannah Labrant
Pretty good, though.
Cole Labrant
I get it.
Savannah Labrant
I get it, though, because it's like, under pressure.
Cole Labrant
Well, I was going like, you know, New King James.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Grant gave you a grace, so you get that one. We'll see if Cole returns.
Cole Labrant
I like having grace.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I'm a graceful guy.
Cole Labrant
So now am I reading to you?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah, but that means you might have the confidence.
Cole Labrant
Listen. Thank you.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
He knows to show mercy.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Anyways, we have one more. Okay, ready?
Cole Labrant
Oh, you're reading to me again.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
She's got one more. Okay.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, gosh.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
One more for you.
Savannah Labrant
Name three things you say instead of cussing.
Cole Labrant
Oh, like fart, poop, and shiz.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, my God.
Cole Labrant
That's a close one.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
My boy threw the shiz out.
Cole Labrant
That's a close one.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
The Z.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
My heart was Racy. I thought you were gonna.
Cole Labrant
Actually, I just, like, go for it.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
It's, like, in.
Cole Labrant
Okay. You know, that one was cuffing, but I had to.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, my goodness. You're right. From the shiz.
Savannah Labrant
Oh, man.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
When's the last time you threw shiz out?
Cole Labrant
Honestly, I don't really say shiz a lot, but then white boys especially, like, around my kids. But then white boys days.
Savannah Labrant
Oh, yeah. I cannot.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Oh, my gosh.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
This is so good. Okay, okay. So you were two.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You were two for two. So now should I.
Savannah Labrant
Should I go, Grant?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I'm gonna go Grant. So we do like boys at the same time, girls at the same time.
Cole Labrant
Oh, gosh.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay.
Cole Labrant
You.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You time, Grant. So after I read it, then start.
Cole Labrant
Okay.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Ready, Grant?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I'm so ready.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Make sure, Mike.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yep.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay. Ready? Oh, wrong side. Name three dating red flags. Go.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, they. Oh, my gosh. I'm so not good at that.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That was hard.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Wow. I felt like I was so judgy right there, like, I didn't know where to go.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay, well, you gave Cole grace. Maybe we should, like, do that.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Wow. That was not. That's not my lane. That's my lane.
Cole Labrant
All right. I'm gonna bounce back.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That was 0 for 1. Jeez.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Should we give him. Should we let him go?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I see just green in my.
Savannah Labrant
In the love of mine and in his offense.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You didn't really, like, date before me. You really did it right.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah, well.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
No, no, that's right.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
He did it right. Let's.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
He did not do it right. He was not living for Jesus. For most.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
You did it right as a stretch date godly way. No, I did not.
Savannah Labrant
That's true.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay, anyways. Okay, next one.
Cole Labrant
Wow.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
All right. A little less. Yeah.
Cole Labrant
Oh.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Name three miracles Jesus performed.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Water and wine. Feeding the 5,000. Walked on water. Boom.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Now he knows the word of God.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Come on, now. I'm not here to point flaws out of people. I'm here to read the word.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Wow.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That was good.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That was good. You know, if you're gonna get any.
Savannah Labrant
Of the data, I don't know how I'm gonna do under pressure. I may just.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I'm not gonna lie. I may have zero.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah. So here we go.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You know, am I going to next, or is it.
Savannah Labrant
Are you switching?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Do you want me to read for you?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
No, we're gonna time.
Savannah Labrant
He's gonna.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
He's gonna ask her, and then I'll go next.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yes. Cool.
Savannah Labrant
Oh, I'm so nervous.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay, you got this.
Cole Labrant
Okay.
Savannah Labrant
Oh, no.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
He's trying to build up he's doing.
Savannah Labrant
This to get you on purpose.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah. This feels unbearable, you guys.
Cole Labrant
I can't believe you'll put that on.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
The weight in this room.
Savannah Labrant
He still stresses. He's stressing me out.
Cole Labrant
You ready?
Savannah Labrant
Yep.
Cole Labrant
Okay. Name three dating green flags.
Savannah Labrant
Oh, he loves Jesus.
Cole Labrant
He.
Savannah Labrant
He's great with kids, and he can cook.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Wow.
Savannah Labrant
Wow.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
So could Cole do all, which is that.
Cole Labrant
Whoa. I definitely could not cook in the leading ends of our marriage. She got me a grill for Father's Day.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
You can grill incredible fun, like, a couple days ago.
Cole Labrant
A couple days ago.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Savannah Labrant
But you've been grilling a long time on our.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Is it Blackstone or something?
Savannah Labrant
Blackstone. We got a Blackstone.
Cole Labrant
That's Vibey, right?
Savannah Labrant
Actually, I probably like it more than him. I don't have the Blackstone.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
We're supposed to love it.
Cole Labrant
We're supposed to love it.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
And so I'm really trying to love it. We're supposed to love it because men like doing that stuff.
Cole Labrant
Men like grilling.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yes, they do. So we're trying to love and cutting their own grass.
Savannah Labrant
Do you like. Like mixing things in the house? Like, can fix things. Okay, I'm helping you out there. No.
Cole Labrant
Do you have a screwdriver?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I think I have one. The Phillips one, right?
Cole Labrant
Yeah, the one that you. If you see, like, the twisting.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yes.
Cole Labrant
Okay. Okay.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Someone is coming after you guys right.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Now in the comments.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay, we have one more. Wait. You're absolutely crushing this. So you're gonna. I'm gonna be so embarrassed.
Cole Labrant
Green flags is easy.
Savannah Labrant
That was easy.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Red flags is hard.
Cole Labrant
Oh, shoot.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, my goodness.
Cole Labrant
Ready? Name three things Noah had on the ark.
Savannah Labrant
Oh, a elephant. A giraffe.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Animals.
Cole Labrant
She went for the biggest ones.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Why did she go so large?
Cole Labrant
Any three animals.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Birds.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Penguins.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Wait, but we're dogs, so dogs were on there.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Did you throw dogs?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
No. I'm just saying.
Cole Labrant
I would assume so. I mean, how did. How else were dogs?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
How else would they come.
Savannah Labrant
That's true.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Surely dogs.
Savannah Labrant
I could have said anything, and I see you freaking.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That's fair.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I thought Ryan was coming out first. I heard the.
Savannah Labrant
I heard the say rhino. Yeah, I was gonna say she went.
Cole Labrant
So large, she wasn't sure if the.
Savannah Labrant
Rhino'S at the cut. I was in my head a little bit. I'm like, hang on. I don't really know, dude.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That's okay. I'll let you time me.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Okay.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay. Don't. Don't do what Cole did to say.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, my goodness.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay, ready?
Cole Labrant
Oh, wow.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Do not overthink this. I probably Will name three books of the Bible. That's start with the letter.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Jeremiah, Joshua.
Savannah Labrant
James. James.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Buzzer. Wow.
Cole Labrant
She got it. If I would have missed that one.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I'm memorizing. James.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
She got it.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That would have been embarrassing.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Light flex, but. Hey, that was good.
Cole Labrant
Joshua out. That was good.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Well, she threw Jeremiah. Thank goodness.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
What else is there? Another one.
Cole Labrant
Genesis.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Jesus. Genesis.
Cole Labrant
Right.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You just said Jesus. And you just said Genesis.
Cole Labrant
You get the whole book.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Glad y' all didn't get the question.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, my.
Cole Labrant
Okay.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
All right. Ready?
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I think this is a lot of pressure. 5 seconds. Goes really fast. Okay, name three disciples.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Matthew, Mark.
Savannah Labrant
No. What?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Matthew, John and James.
Cole Labrant
Good job.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I just went through the gospel.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Barely. Barely got.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I was like.
Cole Labrant
You start panicking.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Why are you so panicking?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Wait, so now it's a tie.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Maddie, you got this?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Or are they the two losers?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Should we do it?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
No, you guys are the two losers.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
A lot of pointing fingers going on here.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Are we the losers?
Cole Labrant
They're technically rock, paper, sciss.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That could be fun. To rule them all.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're gonna do a game of rock, paper, scissors to see who the one loser is.
Savannah Labrant
Okay.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Okay. On shoot.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Ready?
Savannah Labrant
Ready.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Rock, paper, scissors.
Cole Labrant
I told you she was doing something. She's not in my arm.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Okay, ready?
Cole Labrant
Watch this.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.
Cole Labrant
Oh, she tried to get.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Guys, I'm stressed.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.
Savannah Labrant
No, Ro.
Cole Labrant
She got you with scissors.
Savannah Labrant
I started on what? I started with.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You know what you have to do.
Cole Labrant
That's like.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You know what you have to.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Brilliance. What?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You. Your consequences.
Cole Labrant
Oh, gosh.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You have to drink a shot of pickle juice.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, that's good.
Cole Labrant
You like pickle juice?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Do you hate it? I like pickle juice. Do you like pickle juice?
Savannah Labrant
You don't like it?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I like. Is like.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You like pickles, though.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I'll do it. Yeah?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay.
Cole Labrant
Yeah, bring it in.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
The pickles. Oh, we have it here.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Wait, not with the coffee cup.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Okay.
Cole Labrant
How.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Just to say this is really heavy. This is like a lot of pickle juice.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Should we sit here in silence while you escape?
Savannah Labrant
Everybody be quiet.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Should I take the lid off? I'm gonna just pull this? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cole Labrant
Okay.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
By the way, that's a lot of pickle juice.
Savannah Labrant
You should smell it first.
Cole Labrant
Oh, that's pretty good. That's a solid shot.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Okay, ready?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Ready?
Cole Labrant
Oh, that's how he does it.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That's impressive.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
No reaction, no cramping, no nothing. I feel good.
Maddie Pruitt Trout

That was fun. I enjoyed that.
Cole Labrant
That was fun. Thank you guys for this game.
Savannah Labrant
I'm going to have you guys over next week to do this.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Next week we should do another little truth or dare.
Cole Labrant
Thou shalt not. Here we go.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I gave you grace on that. You know I did.
Cole Labrant
You did. I took that one. I would actually prefer one.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
If the gospel ain't taking. The poop juice.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
If the gospel ain't taking.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
So you didn't have to.
Savannah Labrant
Thank you.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay, well, let's. Should we jump in?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I think we should.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
We should do the thing. We should talk. We should talk the things.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah, let's do that.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
So you go.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Okay, you.
Savannah Labrant
Guys say something.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I'm like waiting.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Here's where we want to start. A lot of people know the story.
Cole Labrant
I don't know.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
It is in detail, as I'd like. I know that you found her at 19. Correct. Get me into a little bit of the love story.
Cole Labrant
Oh, my God.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Just, you know, we can go high level, but give me into those few.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Or we can go deep. We can go wherever you guys want to take it. Yeah, the love.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
But let's start with, hey, how did Cole and Savannah come together? How are we here now?
Cole Labrant
Wow.
Savannah Labrant
Okay.
Cole Labrant
Do you want to take it? You want me to take it? You take it.
Savannah Labrant
It looks like you really want to take it, so I don't know if I want to take it from you.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Cole wants it badly.
Savannah Labrant
Do you want me. Do you like hearing me talking about. Okay, okay.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
He wants an affirmation.
Savannah Labrant
He can. He can jump in if he wants. So Cole obviously was making his dem white boys videos just blowing up. And I never had vine, so I never saw those videos. And he had reached out to me on the app called Musical Ly, which TikTok used to be musically. Wow. Yes.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Which was how you got short lived.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Gaining a lot of followers. No.
Savannah Labrant
Which is where I started, unintentionally with my 3 year old. It was very. It was one of those things of us lip syncing to Justin Bieber. On there of just on the couch. And I put my phone down and, you know, went back and to the app like 10 days later, and it had gotten some traction. I was like, whoa. And she loved making videos and we just had fun doing them and we kept lip syncing and that was that. And so then he reached out to me on a DM on Musical Ly.
Cole Labrant
And said, hey, musically, I. I mean, you know, whenever you're transitioning from vine, because vine was.
Savannah Labrant
I am.
Cole Labrant
I had to keep it.
Savannah Labrant
Well, vine was gone, vine was.
Cole Labrant
Who is Cole with?
Savannah Labrant
Vine got deleted.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Musically.
Cole Labrant
Musically. Yeah.
Savannah Labrant
So.
Cole Labrant
And so I was looking for other wholesome influencers to partner with.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Let's keep it business.
Cole Labrant
Strictly.
Savannah Labrant
I actually don't think. Yeah, I think it was strictly just, you know, promote each other. But he was like, hey, if you go, if you ever want to share videos, let me know. And so I responded back immediately after watching some of his videos. I remember just like laughing hysterically with my sister at the time watching his videos. I'm like, he's so funny. Of course I'll share his videos. So I responded back and I gave. Also gave him my number.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Oh, wait, just strictly business, or is.
Savannah Labrant
This hoping easy for him to send me videos to post, followed by a weekly face?
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay, at this point, I'm like, who made the first move? Because it sounds like you both are kind of like.
Savannah Labrant
Well, he didn't know how to check his dm, so he never even saw my message. He never saw it, but that's how we knew each other. Give me a little insight. That's how we saw each other's faces for the first time. All right, so then he came to California. I'm going to try to give you guys a. The quick version. He came to California with his buddies on a summer trip. Correct me if I'm wrong, his first time flying on an airplane. Okay. He's from a family of six kids in Alabama, and they just never got on an airplane. So this is his first time going on airplane, coming to California, which I thought was super cool. And we were at the Grove in la. It's like a mall in la, if you've ever been there, an outdoor mall. I was playing with my little Everly at the time. She was three. And I all of a sudden look over and I see him staring at me. And so I was like, just binoculars.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Or a little more smooth.
Cole Labrant
I think it was.
Savannah Labrant
I think he was trying to figure out, like, oh, is that the girl who we had just, you know, Sent.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
A message to, like, blink a little brother. Like, just let it go.
Cole Labrant
That's what I do. I still do.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Wait, was this long hair Cole or short hair cold?
Savannah Labrant
This was long hair.
Cole Labrant
Probably about as long as it is now. Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Because.
Cole Labrant
Yeah, but it continued, but it got longer.
Savannah Labrant
And so I look over, and I. And I turn around because everybody needed me for something, and I look back, and he gone. And I'm like, oh, shoot. I'm like, well, that was too quick. So I told my sister. She was about to head out. I said, on your way out, if you happen to run into Cole, who was just, you know, you know who he is, because we were looking at his funny videos, send him over to me so I can say hi, because I feel bad. I saw him kind of looking, and then I got distracted, and I guess they happened to just. And it's a huge outdoor mall, but they literally almost knocked into each other. Look at the way out outside of Barnes and Noble.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay.
Savannah Labrant
So my sister goes, oh, my goodness. Well, I ran into you. My sister wanted to say hi. Go back over there and say hi. And so he's like, okay. He comes back over, says, hi. He was 19 at the time, playing with Everly. So cute. Ever was obsessed with him, good with kids. I was like. But at that moment, there was, like, zero, I think, on both ends. It was very. Just like, oh, we know who each other are. Like, let's be buddies. And he was about to go to VidCon, which is like a YouTuber event or a video event, and he asked if I wanted to go with them just as friends.
Cole Labrant
It was you and your friend? Me and my friends. Yeah.
Savannah Labrant
We were gonna go together anyways. He ends up saying bye. We exchange numbers right at that moment.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Because he never saw the dm.
Savannah Labrant
And as he's walking away. Really cool. God moment here as he's walking away with his buddy, he said, well, first of all, Everly goes and runs into his arms, gives him a hug. Bye. As if she had been, like, playing with him for, like, days. And he walks away, and he goes, man, I feel like I just said bye to my daughter. And I didn't hear him say that, but his friend obviously told me later that he said that, and so I thought that was pretty cool, because, you know. And so then they leave, we hang out. And moral of the story very quickly escalates into liking one another within days. It started off the first day of just kind of being friendly and him being super cute with Everly, and I just had it in My head the whole time like he's 19. There's no way. Like I'm.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Cuz you're 23.
Savannah Labrant
23 with a kid.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah.
Savannah Labrant
There's no way this 19 year old is going to want to. It was more. More so just he's 19 and I was a little bit embarrassed by that and so. And I don't even think he was thinking anything of me. No, I don't even think you were thinking anything of it at that point.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That c breezy though he thought that.
Savannah Labrant
I was like married. He still had no idea because we didn't have like deep talks about anything at that point, you know.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Day one, I question you saw husband wasn't around.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah. Serious boyfriend or something.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Hey, cool.
Cole Labrant
I'm just hanging out with pretty girl.
Savannah Labrant
Anyways, we went to IHOP one night after the video conference and had some deep conversations about Jesus and he's just talking to me, telling me about his testimony basically. And I'm sharing a little bit about mine. Holding a lot of things back though, because his testimony was, you know, you're.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Like, oh, that's it. Yeah, nothing else there, huh?
Savannah Labrant
So I'm sitting there like, oh, I'll share it later with you guys. And so that was the moment though where I realized like this is, this is the exact type of guy that I want my standards to be at now. I want someone who speaks about Jesus like that, who makes me feel good about myself when he's talking to me. All the things that he was saying and it's so silly. It was IHOP that I realized this and I had been through so much leading up to that day and I just remember sitting there like, if I don't end up with this guy because we're not really anything right now, he doesn't even know that I'm crushing on him at this point. Then this is exactly the guy that I want to my life to end up with. And so that was the moment. I feel like that totally changed my perspective on who I was dating and the standards I had for myself and that I wanted a godly man for me and my daughter. And that was just a huge moment for me. So I had to share that one little moment. But then it quickly. We quickly started doing long distance. Like two days after that he left and we were like, well, this is it for us and we're doing long.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Distance to go back to Alabama.
Cole Labrant
Yeah, Alabama.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay.
Cole Labrant
Because I finished my freshman year of college all summer getting ready for sophomore year at Troy University.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Cool.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Shout out, shout out to Troy.
Savannah Labrant
My parents went to Troy. Am I leaving anything out besides.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
And when we say IHOP, we mean, like pancakes, pancake house. IHOPs, not international house of Prayer.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
There was syrup. A lot of syrup.
Cole Labrant
There might have been prayer.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Cole Labrant
But definitely pancakes.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Before the pancake.
Cole Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Okay. Before the pancakes. Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. Yep.
Cole Labrant
So we did long distance and then.
Savannah Labrant
Dating right away, got married six months later and then married six months after that.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Love.
Cole Labrant
Love that.
Savannah Labrant
So it all just happened so quick.
Maddie Pruitt Trout

Maddie (guest or co-host)
Real quick. And what were you thinking at 19 years old? Like girl with a child, like, just give me into your head because I feel like me at 19.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Well, you were not following Jesus.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah, but just like what a mature, what, what wisdom and what maturity. Just like that you had. I mean, give me into your mind in that, like what are you thinking?
Cole Labrant
Throughout this whole time, I mean I was kind of the hopeless romantic that was always looking for the wife. So whenever I met the one and it was like so clear that she was the one, it wasn't, there wasn't any hesitation around the kid aspect of it. And Everly was such and is such an awesome kid. Yeah, I think it helped. Just so fun and loud and silly and all the things like I grew up with. I also had young siblings, so even though I was 19, I think I had a 6 year old sister at the time and a 9 year old brother. So like I had like a little sister at home that was six and so it was just like used to it. So it just kind of came natural. And I mean as cheesy as it sounds like when, you know, you know, and in our situation, I know everyone's relationship and everyone's thing is different but for us it felt, for me it felt pretty instantaneous. And so it didn't feel like it was a burden or anything. It just felt like this is what God has for me and for us and I'm so excited for it.
Savannah Labrant
Beautiful, man.
Cole Labrant
Incredible. It wasn't always easy by any means. And we can speak into that because there's plenty of hardships. It wasn't all just perfect and like, yeah, awesome and easy. I mean there's a lot of tears and prayers on both sides because even though she was the one, maybe with a little more of a pastor with a kid, like I brought my own stuff into our relationship, into our marriage, into, you know, things that I had to heal from and things that I had to mature into and things that I'm still healing from and maturing into, and, you know, we're always not there, but, you know, trying to become more and more like Christmas. So I tell everyone, like, just because she maybe had the kid or more past her previous relationship or whatever stuff, like, she was and is entirely in every way, so much more pure than I ever was. Even, like, on our wedding day, I just look at her and, you know, and awe, like, how pure she is.
Savannah Labrant
So.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Wow.
Cole Labrant
It wasn't. Yeah, it wasn't difficult in that sense. Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
It's beautiful. So beautiful.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
And how was it hard for you with just, like, men in the past that hadn't been, like, just the most godly leading, spiritually, making you feel pure and holy and beautiful?
Cole Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Like, was that hard to enter into this relationship and, like, trust Cole and, like. Yeah, just, like, what was that process like as you were having to trust again after being maybe hurt or let down in the past?
Savannah Labrant
Yeah. I would say that I had never really had a relationship where God was at the center of it, if I'm being totally honest. And so this was definitely the first relationship where I even got a glimpse of that. And he did such an amazing job at it that I really never had any. Like, I said this at youth night, too, but how I kind of feel about this is, like, a lot of people will be like, oh, you make Cole out to be, like, your savior or your hero. And that's not at all what I mean when I say, like, he saved me. Like, I think that God used Cole to save me. And I think God can put people into your life totally to let you, you know, to let you into the freedom that he brings. And so when I met Cole, I saw Jesus, right? And he did such a good job of leading me to Jesus just by showing me just how Jesus loves, you know? And so. So I never had any. I really didn't have any, like, worries that with my past relationships. Yes. I always had the worries of, is he gonna cheat? Is he gonna do this again with him? I never felt that because he did such a good job of, you know, telling me he was. And really not even just telling me, but just showing me that I was worthy and showing me that I was beautiful instead of telling me, and. Because I've heard things like that before, but the actions were never backed up by it. So he just always did such a good job at. With the actions that I never had to feel that, which is great.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I love that so much. And get me into, like, your, like, going all in with Jesus. Like, when was that moment for you where you were like, I want to go all in with Jesus? When you met her, had you already gotten to that point?
Cole Labrant
I would say so, yeah. I grew up Christian, family, Baptist. So it was definitely more, you know, fire and brimstone rules, which I think is good. Right. Faith is this beautiful intersection of, you know, grace and truth. I definitely grew up more like, don't have sex before marriage and don't smoke weed and don't touch alcohol and don't this. And it's like, okay. And I didn't. So I gotta praise God for that. Because I think that God tells us to don't, you know, just as any good parent, to keep us from getting hurt. The simplicity of that. Like, he loves us. Don't sin. Why not? Because I don't want you to have fun. Because I don't want you to get hurt. So I praise God for that view of God at an early age because it kept me, I think, from getting as hurt as I could have or making mistakes that God doesn't want us to make because he doesn't want us getting hurt. But also, I had this warped view of God for a little while that I didn't necessarily love the Lord and I didn't love spending time with the Lord. I didn't love being with God. And so I think I missed out on that for a little while until I had definitely radical encounters with Jesus, with the person of Jesus, probably. There wasn't, like, a moment for me. A lot of people have, like, man, it was this day, at this thing, at this. And that's amazing. There's not a moment that I can point to. It was this, like, slow, gradual progression as I slowly started getting plugged into real churches, real community of people that really love Jesus and being like, wow. Like, oh, they're lifting their hands. And, like, in my Southern Baptist church that I grew up in, not a single hand raise. You know, choir in the back in their white robes. Nothing wrong with that. Singing out of the hymnals. But it just seemed like everyone, like, couldn't wait. Like, they're looking at their phones, can't wait to get out, can't wait to go to lunch. All the things. Like, everyone hated being there. It's like, man, these people, like, love Jesus. They love being here. Like, they don't want to leave here. And I think that that happened to me just slowly. And I praise God for just, like, one of the biggest blessings outside of my Wife and my kids, just the friends that God has been so kind to put my life at a young age who love Jesus. It is by his grace. I just. The people around me, the people that I was at a young age grateful to surround myself with love Jesus. And I think that they helped lift me up and the community of people, very imperfect people, broken people, definitely didn't do all the right things by any means, but loved Jesus in the midst of it and through it. So I think, yeah, a few years prior to meeting Savannah, probably 15 or 16, I really just got on fire for Jesus. Going to forward conference. Yeah. You know, Jensen Franklin. So things like that at, like, a young age. I mean, really, like, you see, like, that many young people, like, lifting their hands and worship a segment. This is what I want to do.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Right.
Cole Labrant
This is who I want to be.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You went from Baptist to going to Jensen Franklin. I'm like.
Cole Labrant
It was big. It's just real.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah, that's cool.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
It's the best.
Cole Labrant
So, yeah, so that's what I knew I wanted to do and who I wanted to be. And meaning Savannah, she was all in. And that's. I think that's what was, you know, unique about our situation, was that we weren't. Whenever we met, we weren't equally yoked and our faith and where we were at the time. But Savannah was so willing, hunger and eager. So it was like we were becoming equally yoked, you know, as we started dating. And. And we were so aligned with, like, where we were looking. Maybe not where we were and maybe not even where we are, but where we're going. We were entirely equally yoked. And that's what, you know, the yoke is not looking backwards, not even looking where we are now. It's like we're equally yoked looking where we're going.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That's good.
Cole Labrant
And we were aligned in that sense. So it's been relatively easy since then.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I watched Yalls wedding video this morning. Loved it so much. I was alone in two hands at the back. And my waitress kept coming up, like, looking over. I was just, like, weeping, like, because Cole had this long, flowy blonde hair.
Cole Labrant
That's why you're crying?
Savannah Labrant
Yes. Like, it's so beautiful.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
But, man, it was so clear. Even in Yalls vows. It's just like, Jesus Christ is the center of Yalls relationship. And what I would say is, like, y' all have every excuse not to put him at the center of Yalls relationship. Y' all look beautiful. Y' all have a platform. Get me into a little Bit like, how do you guys keep Jesus at the center, sinner, when the world is pulling you in so many different directions? I think a lot of people watching y' all would say, I wish I could be Cole and Savannah, get me into a little bit behind that scene of, hey, maybe what you think would bring happiness or satisfaction does or doesn't. And, like, how has Jesus just sustained you guys and the highs and the lows of Yalls relationship?
Cole Labrant
Yeah, for us, it's the simplicity. And I say us, obviously within our marriage, but also just me individually. Like, my relationship with Jesus, aside from Jesus, truly, like, I have no joy and I have no peace, and I would just be a bad person and I would be selfish and greedy, and that would roll into our marriage. That would roll into my relationship with my kids. And there's been seasons in my life, even seasons following Jesus, where I had not been as consistent in my word or my prayer life or my faith. And I felt that, you know, that selfishness creep back in. I felt, you know, whenever you aren't with God, whenever you aren't abiding in Christ, as I have done imperfectly, I felt that come on me. And I'm like, man, if I am not walking with Jesus every day, it's no longer just about me. I feel like whenever it's just about me, it's a little easier. All right? If I'm not walking with Jesus, I can suffer because of it and I can indulge in sin, like, whatever it is. But now, whenever I have my wife and my five kids who I live more than life. And the older you get, the more people need you, there's people who follow us or whatever it might be that, you know, are looking to us in some way, but most importantly, my wife and my kids. And if I'm not abiding in Jesus, it's no longer just affecting me. It is going to affect my kids, it's going to affect my marriage, and it's going to affect so much more. So that's been the obvious foundation. Even just people doubting their faith. I have family members who've walked away from their faith and whatever else. And that has just been like, the evidence for me in my life. No matter any miracle or any unexplained thing that you might question God at times like this is the foundation. Like, man, whenever I'm with Jesus, life is better. And not better in the sense of having more things or having a better life on paper, but having that peace and that joy that everybody's heart is longing for. We're all longing for peace and joy. Peace and joy. You know, it's like those two things, why do we go to substance abuse and why do we get into this bad relationship? But why do we do this? We're looking for this. This joy, this happiness and this peace from somewhere. And, I mean, I long for things all the time. You know, that's what the enemy's trying to do, is pull us in these things that aren't of Jesus. And then you try. It's like, man, that didn't. That didn't hit. Yeah, right. But whenever you're with Jesus, it's like, wow. And it's not a. It's not that quick hit either. It's not like that quick fix, but it's that slow, subtle consistency that builds over time. You know, it's like slow, consistent, slow consistency, slow, consistent. That over time, it's like, wow, it's been six months now of consistency. 12 months, two years, five years. Like, man, I am so much more joyful. The things that used to make me so anxious, the things that used to upset me so quickly, the things that used to, whatever, no longer do in the way that they once did. Not that I'm perfect now, but, like, I can see how God has been transforming me in my life. So I think that's been the evidence that's been able to transpire and just make our marriage what it is. Not perfect by any means, but we have a very good marriage. I can confidently say, because of Jesus, not because I'm this awesome guy or because you're this awesome girl, even though you are. It's Jesus, who we believe has sustained us and everything.
Savannah Labrant
And I think a big thing for our family is looking different. Right. And that sometimes can be uncomfortable in situations, especially when you have a lot of kids and then activities are starting and friends are getting cell phones and friends are now on social media. And I think we've always really tried to stay true. To stay true.
Cole Labrant
Shout out.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Shout out. She didn't mean to do it. I love that.
Savannah Labrant
To the Lord by being okay with being uncomfortable. By teach. Showing our kids that. Yeah. Even though maybe our friends are doing that, we're not gonna do that, or we're gonna stand up for this because we believe in this. And that's what Jesus would want us to do. So, you know, just things that we honor and things like not having. Not having cell phones and just wanting our kids to play more. Or. I just think there's different things in our family where we're really adamant on keeping Jesus the main focus and not letting all the other things. With lots of kids and lots of activities that could. Sometimes people could put before Jesus sometimes. And even if that looks uncomfortable in some situations, we are. We stay really strong and firm on that. So I'd say that's a big thing in our family that's. Try to. We try to. It's hard and it can be uncomfortable, but we, we try really hard to.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
And it's clear. It's so clear. I remember us before we knew you guys very well. We watched y' all give a giveaway on Bear Fruit and we almost cried. And we were just like, we want to be generous like the labrants are. And, and people see Jesus in y'.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
All.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Just so y' all know. I know you keep saying try, but. But y' all are doing it and it's beautiful.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
And.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
And the parents who are one thing we've talked about a lot is just like, it's so cool because people would see Yalls life and be like, oh my gosh, they have millions of followers and all this, all these things. But it's like you guys love Jesus, love each other and love your kids more than anything. And it's so evident, like it's not just something you feel like you have to do. Like, you love being a mom and it's so cool to see, like, you literally are always like, we'll, I'll be out at Green Hills Mall. And I'm like, we were joking about this earlier. And you'll be like out with your, you know, kiddos or all of them, I don't even know. And, and you're just like big old smile on your face. Like you're not stress, you're just like enjoying. And you just, you, you guys love being parents and you're such good parents. And so I do want to dive into that topic a little bit, but I'd love to just jump off of the question that you asked because you. It was kind of like a two part question. And I think the second part of that question was really good too. Of a lot of people would want the platform you guys have. Like, a lot of people are trying to get famous, they're trying to blow up, they're trying to go viral. They're chasing after those things, thinking it's going to bring them happiness. Kind of like what you're saying. A lot of us are searching for the joy that we were made to from Jesus in the things of this world, thinking that it will fully Satisfy us. And so I would love for you guys to speak into or just even give advice to, like, the person who is wanting to build a platform for them, for themselves, and who are seeking satisfaction in the things of this world and hoping that it will fill that hole in their heart.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah, Yeah, I would say that kind of to back what you. What you were saying earlier. My greatest joy is when I'm reading the Bible, when I'm learning about Jesus and being with Jesus, there's no greater joy. And I think now that we've done social media for so long, I can kind of say this is. I find more joy when I'm off social media. I really do. When my phone's gone and it's away from me the entire day, those are my most joyful days. The second I pick up that phone and I start scrolling, I start feeling bad again, you know, and so I've learned that. And so my biggest advice for someone is just to not do it.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Savannah Labrant
Like in the nicest way.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Like that.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah. Yes, yes, yes. I keep my phone plugged into next to my bed every morning, and I won't get it until I've read the Bible. And so I just think, you know, starting your day scrolling on your feed is just the worst that you can possibly do. Starting your day off, comparing and all the things. And so I want to make sure that I'm starting my day off with Jesus. And I'm also showing my kids that.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You should start your day off with Jesus too.
Savannah Labrant
So one day they model that. But yeah, going back to your question, would I'm the worst person to do this, but I would just say don't do it. I really would. And I know that's easier said than done. And there's been a lot of amazing things that have come out of social media, and I do. One of our friends, Courtney, actually says, you know, if people are looking here, we need to meet them here sometimes too.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Right.
Savannah Labrant
Because not everybody is looking up right now. People are looking at their phones. And so, yes, I feel like God has given us this platform for the reason to help bring people to Jesus. Right. And so we do have to be on social media and help people in that way. But I also think if you don't have to be and then you shouldn't, because that's the best thing ever to be. So off social media, you know, free. So, yes. I just feel so much better when I'm not on it then when I am.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That's awesome.
Cole Labrant
That's great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's great. I'll speak slightly to the person that maybe feels really called to it.
Savannah Labrant
Yes, go ahead.
Cole Labrant
Because obviously I think that we live in a generation now where it's become very aware what social media can be, what social media can do. We started it again going back to vine and White boys. This is like 12, 13 years ago. So it really wasn't a thing, like the term influencer. If you had like looked it up, it wouldn't have been like thing, you know, if you told me like, oh, I want to be an influencer. I want to be a soldier. Like, they'd be like, what are you talking about? So we kind of got into it accidentally.

I don't think it's a bad thing in and of itself to want that. But it's all about, you know, what is your. What's the word I'm looking for? The.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
The motive part.
Cole Labrant
Yeah. What's your motivation? Right. What is your motivation behind doing it. If your motivation is to get a bunch of followers and to get famous, as you said, then you're gonna be unsatisfied. Whether you try and it doesn't happen, or you try and it does happen, eventually you're gonna be unsatisfied. I have. We were out in California and we're around so many people who, who did have a lot of followers, right. They reached that level of success without Jesus and there appeared to be this deep never ending well that they're pursuing. Right. Like they had a million. Okay, now I'm gonna turn that million into 10 million. Totally. I did that. Now I'm gonna turn that 10 million into this business. Okay. Maybe that business succeeded or didn't. Now I'm gonna try. And it's like that you're. It's this never ending cycle that doesn't get there. So it's okay. Where's my motivation? I think going into it, if you have this motivation to grow this following this platform that truly your heart's desire is to lead people to Jesus or grow something that can be a tool for the kingdom, that can be a beautiful thing. Right? Yeah, that's, you know, I try to look like with anything, whether it's social media or if you aren't doing social media, what is God put in your hands? Right? What does God put in your hands? Where are you and what is he putting your hands? And how can you. I think that we're going to get to heaven and God's like, hey, what did you do with what I gave you?
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Right.
Cole Labrant
The, the, the servants and the talents and it's just like, what did you do with what I gave you? And so that's what kind of a perspective. Savannah does such a beautiful job and I honor it and I respect it so much. Like, like stepping back from social media a lot. And I admired a lot and I want to do more of that too, while also finding the balance of, okay, God has given us this and how can we steward it well for his kingdom and grow things well that help his people? Because it can be a powerful tool. Yeah. While also a very dangerous one that we know won't satisfy you.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
It's such. So like we'll, we'll like cry at night because social media is the worst. And then you walk out the next day and someone runs up to you, Maddie, and she's crying and she goes, hey, because you posted this, I'm following Jesus. And you're like, you know, then, then you're in this wrestle of like, okay, this is producing fruit. Yet I feel like at the same time, it costs my soul at times.
Savannah Labrant
Like, well, shiz.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I know.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah. That's when Cole throws out.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Cole throws out the not cussing.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I think our wrestle. I want to just wrestle openly with y' all is like, okay, pair with the talents, you know? And I'm. It's really y' all three, like, I. I'm. I'm off social media for the summer. Because even Courtney was like, hey, if you're not, like, posting consistently and you're on social media, what are you doing? But if you're, like, posting about Jesus all the time, like, wrestle with it. But I told Maddie, I was like, I think you should be on because of the amount of people that come up to us and go, I'm alive today because of what you're doing. How do y' all wrestle with. And how would you, like, disciple someone on if you're gonna have it? This is how we think through what we post, how much we post, why we post, why we post. Yeah, like, give me any yalls. Filter a little bit. Because there's a lot of Christians going. It can be used. And I can't tell if Paul would come back and be like, you have this dude.
Cole Labrant
Like, use it.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Or he'd be like, I just don't know which position he would take.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Right.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
But I think he would want to use it for the gospel, which y' all are doing so well. Get me into that. Like, how do we filter what to post, what not to post, all that.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah. I want to say that if it's not honoring God, we don't post it. But then there's some things that are just, like, funny dances on TikTok where they're clearly not honoring God and we post it. So I think there's a good. You know, there's a good amount of posting things that really matter and that are leading people to Jesus. Right. Showing people, through my family, how we're honoring God while also still keeping it fun and wanting to keep people engaged. Right. With seeing how we just have normal life, too. You could go more off of this. He's more of the poster than me, but no.
Cole Labrant
Yeah, that was a great introduction to it. I think that certain people have different talents, and I don't know if it was you guys that we were joking with, but there's certain people who are really good at cooking, right? So they do cooking stuff on social media. And it's like every cooking video, you have to be, you know, talking about Jesus in the Cooking video. But you can be bringing in this audience of people who enjoy watching cooking totally subtly, and then the right timing, introduce them to Jesus and do that. That's what happened with us early on is we were always pretty open about our faith, but a lot of people didn't follow us necessarily for our faith. They followed us because they liked watching family content or because they like watching some of the entertaining stuff that we did. And just like an athlete, right? I love watching football, and I'll be watching these athletes and there might be a football player that I love and I don't know anything about his faith because football players are rarely. You rarely hearing them talk. You're seeing them play, and then all of a sudden you love them, you're following them. And then if you hear them talk about Jesus, you're like, wow. Like, oh, man, that's so compelling. Because I love the person you are. So I think it's powerful to, like, use the gifts and talents that God's given you. Even if it's silly videos that for whatever reason, you're creative and you found out a way to grow an audience. And then through that, and then in the right time, leverage again. What's in your hands, what God's given you. There's. We know so many musicians in the area who, by no means they're not even worship singers. Most of them aren't. Most of them are country singers or other kind of artists that 90, 99% of their songs don't even mention the word Jesus. But. And in through their lives and through other ways, they're leveraging their platform and they're leveraging these opportunities that they have on stage to glorify God, or they're leveraging the finances that they were able to make for the kingdom or whatever that might be. So I just think it's, you know, it's like in all things, leverage it for the kingdom. And obviously with that being social media for us for the past many years, yeah, I think it's amazing to. To not do it. But then if you. If you do it, do it well. Ask God for creativity, ways to stand out, and ultimately how to bring him the glory through. Through it all, through what you're saying, through what you're doing, and through hopefully the finances and everything that. That can come from it. You know, that's not just selfish intention.
Maddie Pruitt Trout

I like to talk about the why a lot on this podcast. Like what is your why? If you want to start a platform. If you want to grow on social media, asking the question, well, why? Why do I want to? Is it to build my own name? Is it to build my own platform? Or is it to build the kingdom of God? And if our goal as Christians is to get as many people to heaven as we can, then then great, if that's your gift. But it. You know, it talks about in scripture, like, we've all been given different gifts. Like, we're not all called to be the mouthpiece. We shouldn't all want to be the mouthpiece. Like, the people who speak the truth of God are held to a higher standard and are going to be judged a little more intensely, you know? And so that. That should be treated with a lot of fear and trembling and not just casually, but whatever your gift is, like, you're saying, like, use it for the glory of God and use it for service for other people. And I believe that you guys have done such a good job in just blessing people and in giving back and in being generous. What are some, like, I'd love to get into parenting a little bit because you guys are the best parents. What are some, like. Because we've been talking about this, too, lately, like, vision for our family and pillars for our family and kind of what we want to model and said and. Yeah. Traditions and things like that. What are some, like, pillars of the Labrant family that you guys think through, that you want to set for your kids and that you want to model for your kids?
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Cole Labrant
Savannah's big on traditions. I almost joke that, like, if there's ever an opportunity to, like, throw the word tradition out.
Savannah Labrant
I love when you started saying that word. I was so excited.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
She's like, christian loves it. Yeah.
Cole Labrant
It's like, hey, we're gonna have a new, like, flag day tradition. I'm like.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Perfect.
Savannah Labrant
That's not true.
Cole Labrant
Sometimes I'll be like, you know, hey, hey, babe, you remember that tradition where we're supposed to, like, kiss, like, tweezers a day?
Savannah Labrant
Oh, yeah.
Cole Labrant
Okay. Okay.
Savannah Labrant
So I would say the biggest thing that I can think of when you were saying that is just teaching our kids to be generous. Right? So I try to. I try to bring my kids along, even though it could be more tricky bringing them to certain things to serve.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Right.
Savannah Labrant
Instead of leaving the house to serve by myself or doing it. Even though I feel like, you know, serving shouldn't be, like, shouted, and you shouldn't be telling people all the serving things that you're doing. I think that your kid should Always see you do it because how often are they going to learn how to serve? Right? So like if we're rolling up to the, to a homeless guy and I'm saying God bless you and trying to get a quick talk in with him or a prayer in with him before the light turns green, I'm like, posey, come up here. Posey, come up here. And she hands it to him, says, God bless you. Like little things like that. Just teaching our kids to serve alongside us is really big for me. I mean, Bible studies at young ages. We do like a. Right now we're trying to do a five, five, five. And it doesn't, it doesn't happen every single day, but we're trying really hard to do it almost every day where we do five minutes of Bible study, five minutes of prayer where they all. And it's so cute. You would think that like a 2 year old wouldn't be able to like go sit and pray by themselves and she like will come and sit on my lap and just thank God for everything for like 10 straight minutes. Thank you for my muffins. Thank you.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Like we sometimes pray like that too.
Cole Labrant
Praise God for.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah, these muffins are really good.
Cole Labrant
Sometimes you just as much. Yeah. 13 times in a row. Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
You're shouting Amen.
Savannah Labrant
That's from our.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
You're feeling the spirit.
Savannah Labrant
Blue is not. He's one. So he is just running around like a wild child while we're doing this. But you know, Everly's in this and she's in her own little spot praying and it's just, it's awesome. And then we do five minutes of worship after where we all just put music on and we do worship together. And that's just, I feel like brought our family so close. Like even our little ones are like, why didn't we do it today? And so little things like that. I mean I could go on and on about traditions, but those are two.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That, that's so cool. I've heard of the 555 and thinking about it in terms of like our own personal quiet time. Yeah. So cool to think about it in terms of like bringing your kids into that moment.
Savannah Labrant
I love that. Yeah. So that's been really fun for us. I mean, you could chime in if you want to. I won't. I'm not going to talk about like traditions that don't matter.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
My Christmas tradition.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I want the PJs.
Cole Labrant
What we got what PJs you saw day Gingerbread house.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
We, we gingerbread people.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Cole Labrant
Yeah, I mean, it happens. Gingerbread houses are the biggest knockoff on planet. You go to Target and you get that gingerbread house kit. Good luck making that thing with your kids without the icing not sticking together.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
They're not perfect.
Cole Labrant
And then like the kids are like eating like all the candy, like before they even stick it on the thing.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
We.
Savannah Labrant
We're doing another thing I can think of. We're doing letter Bible verses. So with every letter has a different Bible verse. So like A is a friend letter times B is be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other. C is another one. And my kids know all like A through J and like perfectly like they could just shout it to you at any moment. And that's and I think so important for them to know scripture at young ages. And you would think that like a three year old wouldn't be able to do that. So you kind of are just like, like with Everly, I never, when she was younger, I never did Bible verses with her because I just didn't think that she could at that age. And now seeing, you know, my Zealand and even Sunday start to say them, I'm like, whoa. And that's been really cool and fun for us to do together. Is just teaching them scripture at young ages before they're even reading it.
Cole Labrant
Fun, right? Getting to their level, not making it perfect, not making it thou shalt, whatever. And again, nothing wrong with thou shalt, but it's like we're living in. How can we communicate Jesus in a real authentic way to a 3 year old? Like if.
Savannah Labrant
Well, I'll look over and I'll see, you know, Zeland tugging on Blue, trying to wrestle him to the floor over a car. And I'm like, zeland, be kind. And he's like. And compassionate to one another. Like, sometimes it can work that way.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Awesome.
Savannah Labrant
And so I think tying in scripture just for even just the little moments like that is cool for them.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
What? What made, like, people in yalls position are supposed to get a babysitter and a nanny and y' all are supposed to be doing big things. What makes y' all want to be these so present parents? Like, that's so rare. Kids are supposed to stunt your career. So a lot of people think, like, what makes y' all want to be these amazing parents that are hands on teaching them the word? Where did that come from?
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Because you guys homeschool.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah, we home school and you're the teacher, right?
Savannah Labrant
Yeah. Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
You up for that?
Savannah Labrant
Mads.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
You got your math.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
If I can Learn from Savannah.
Savannah Labrant
I say it's fun all the time. Like, it's. And I try to get my friends to all do it, and it can be very hard. So I don't want to say it's like, all fun. It could be challenging. Some days we're like. I'm like, okay, we're just not doing school today. We'll do it on Saturday because nobody's listening to me.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I needed that. I needed your classroom.
Savannah Labrant
I have some days where I just throw in the towel. I'm like, all right, we're doing another day. But, you know, it goes very good. That's cool. And. And we just. I love being able to be the number one disciple in my kids lives. I want to be able to, you know, I don't want to send my kids off. And. And I'm not saying it's a bad thing because I know that some people have to go to work and some people just choose not to, and that's okay, too. But for me personally, I just feel so called to just be my kids, you know, where they're learning all of their information from. And so I try really hard to keep them with me as much as possible, but I just. I just truly enjoy it. I really don't know how else to. I just love being with them. They're awesome.
Cole Labrant
Like a guy talking about it.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
I saw you, but I'll let him answer that more. I saw you walking into the cupcake place. I think that's what we're talking about.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
And you had, like, your ducklings behind you. And I was just like, that's dope. You know, like, that's just sick. Like, you didn't have help. It was just you.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Really cool.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
And I asked her the other night at Wago. I was like. I was like, where's Cole? Is Cole here? And she. And she was like, no, he's with the. The kids at home. And I was like, do you guys ever get babysitters? And she was.
Savannah Labrant
We have one right now.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
She was like, no.
Cole Labrant
Hey. Okay. We're not anti babies.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Not anti.
Savannah Labrant
We're not anti babies.
Cole Labrant
We don't date.
Savannah Labrant
We just choose. Yeah, we choose.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I loved that you were like, no, we don't really leave our kids with babysitters much. And. And again, I know that that's. Not everyone can't do that. But I love that someone in your position who very much could, like Grant was saying, like, very much could see this as we want to grow and make as much money as we can and reach as Many people as can. So we neglect, like, making disciples in our own home. And you guys are like, you guys do not do that. You're like, no, we see the most value and making disciples in our own home and loving our neighbor and being plugged into the local church as well as, like, we're gonna steward well what God is giving to us and entrusted to us. But I just want to, like, say, you guys, it's just so cool, refreshing. And we admire the way that you guys parent and just do family and do local living, because I think people would look at your life and not imagine that you guys are, you know, someone in your position would love those things and would want to be plugged into the local church and would want to be, you know, in small groups and serving at Wago with high schoolers and, like. And you guys just love that. And it's. It's so cool and refreshing to see. And. Yeah, we just wanted to speak into that.
Cole Labrant
I'd like to honor the Mayernicks and the Browns. People like them. Yeah, we were just at their wedding and just seeing their families just so.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Savannah Labrant
People that we learned.
Cole Labrant
Beautifully modeled. So, like, it's like we figured out this secret. The secret. You know, there's families who have done it well.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah, yeah, we're learning, and we look.
Cole Labrant
At them and, you know, I'm grateful for the family that I grew up in. And we look at families like. But like. Like the American Browns, like, you know, all their kids on both sides love Jesus so much, and they're such an. And you just see the fruit. The fruit that's produced not quickly. This isn't a quick fix. This isn't a quick post that gets 10 million views and yada, yada, yada, Right? It's like, this is like the. The slow, everyday mundane teaching my kids about Jesus so that one day they will go and do abundantly more for the kingdom than I do. Right. That's the goal. So we got five of them. So if we can raise these five kids to love Jesus well and perfectly, they're gonna make mistakes. I'm sure. Like, people watching this, they're gonna see our kids in 10, 20 years do something wrong and sinful because it's gonna happen. We're all broken people. You know, this isn't about how good we are, about how good Jesus is. And so I think that, you know, know. Yeah.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
She goes, no, our kids are perfect.
Cole Labrant
But seeing. But seeing families like that who have done it well is, like. Is just so motivating for us. So they're not, you know, these aren't like social media families or, like, people with, like, crazy influencers or followings or whatever. They're just normal families who've done it so well. That inspire us. Yeah, man, we want to. We want to be like that.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I love that community.
Savannah Labrant
If someone's ever, like, give me some advice on being a parent, that's always my, like, top three is find a family or two that you guys look up to. And you're like, oh, man, I want my family to look just like that. Like, they have Jesus in the center of their home at all times. Their kids just shine Jesus whenever you see them and ask them questions. Like, I will call or voice message Suzanne on a random Tuesday and be like, hey, this is what I'm dealing with. How can you help me? And she's so sweet to get back to me on things. And she's helped me a ton, like, just finding people like that. And I had someone in California when we lived there that just poured into me in that way. And now I'm starting to see it a little bit where I'm able to do that for moms who are just starting out too. And it's so cool how it's. You know, and so I. That's the biggest thing is finding a family that you just look up to.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
The Lord intended that, you know, we're such community driven people. And so anyways, bearing fruit.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I know. I was gonna say we've talked about fruit a lot.
Savannah Labrant
We gotta talk about barefoot. I want to honor you guys because you guys are doing an awesome job too. I love how you guys are such a good team and she is just honoring God in every single way, and you're just here supporting her and you're off social media. And I think that's so cool too. Like, your whole dynamic is just awesome. And how you're probably. Hosanna is so amazing. And it's just.
Cole Labrant
And a lot of people probably don't even know because I don't think it was on social media. I know you're not on that. I don't know if it was posted, but, like, Grant spent, like, three days at a camp retreat.
Savannah Labrant
Yes. I'm sorry, I'm just, like, over here.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
No, no, no, no.
Cole Labrant
But brought such an incredible word. Not just, you know, brought a word. Every night you're there with those kids. You're engaging with them. I mean, I was, like, encouraged. Like, again, you could be anywhere.
Savannah Labrant
Grant's doing a lot of things you.
Cole Labrant
Could be doing behind the Scenes to grow your name to grow Yalls name to grow whatever. But you're in the woods in the middle of Hobunk, Tennessee.
Savannah Labrant
It starts serving your heart out.
Cole Labrant
Those toilets were no joke.
Savannah Labrant
Those toilets.
Cole Labrant
Toilets are no broke. No joke.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
No joke. He can preach so good. He's anointed to teach the word.
Cole Labrant
You guys have said a lot of nice things about us, but we.
Savannah Labrant
But we love you Notice you guys.
Cole Labrant
Too, privately, beyond just what's posted out there and what's shown out there. And you guys are amazing people. Yeah, we look up to you guys.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Well, thank you. Talk to us about the app Bear Fruit. I remember when you were about to launch it, you're calling me and I just. It's been how many months now? Six.
Cole Labrant
I was in October. So whenever that was. Okay.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah, just get us into. Get us into Bear Fruit. Like, how did that start. Give us the vision and the purpose of the app Bear Fruit.
Cole Labrant
Yeah. Simply speaking, our. Our faith is the most important thing to us. And we wanted to create this place that we could. We have our podcast on there. We do it, it's like a live stream dream kind of thing, but we do it once every two weeks and it's quick and more, you know, small and Bible study hubby, but just a place that I. A few of these things that we felt were really important that people would come to us and ask questions on. Often we could have a place that it lives on. So we kind of created this app. It was like, well, there's not, you know, we could do it on our social media, but then it's still going to be lacking these courses that we kind of wanted on there or, you know, different kind of curriculum or things that we just felt. My, for example, like my brother and he just had a baby and their relationship and like they come to us with a lot of questions. And I'm like, man, something like this with the resources that could empower them and the questions that they have. In a season of, you know, difficulty. We've been through a lot, and if we could pour into people in a unique way, then we just want to leverage what we have the best we can. So that's kind of. That was kind of the heart behind barefoot. And obviously the name is just to help families and individuals and couples Bear Fruit in their lives. That's what we're all striving toward. And I think that obviously pointing them to Jesus is the ultimate answer and the ultimate solution. But sometimes when we say, hey, find God, find Jesus, or whatever it is in A quick Instagram post. There's so many. But how, but how, but how, but how. I have four kids and they're screaming all day long. Or like, I want to do less screen time. But how. And so, like, I think that was a lot of the heart behind Barefoot was like, I think, yes, we can tell you God, Jesus, Bible, scripture, and that's the entire heart of bear fruit. But like, a lot of, like, practicals.
Savannah Labrant
Yep.
Cole Labrant
On how that's really cool how to potty train my kid. It's like, man, they're. They're this age and I think they're still peeing themselves and yada, yada, you know, so there's a lot of real practical things that induce joy and peace or the absence of that.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That's amazing.
Cole Labrant
So.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
So for families that are seeking the butt house.
Cole Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Of bearing fruit.
Cole Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yeah.
Cole Labrant
And again, it's not like we have the answers. A lot of it's blowing out courses.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
And other pastors and.
Cole Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
That's amazing, man. So check that out. I mean, yeah, it's. I have the app.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
I'll include the link in this.
Savannah Labrant
Miller Ann is actually doing the devotions on there, which is sweet. From the Marinik family.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Yes.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
That's so cool. We've talked a lot about. I feel like fruit and staying connected to Jesus. And it's just reminding me obviously of in. In the Bible, in John, chapter 15, as it's talking about that he is the vine and we are the branches, and it's important for us to stay connected to him because that is how we bear fruit, and apart from him, we can do nothing. And so just when I'm thinking about platform and parenting and purpose, why. Why am I here? What has God called me to do? How do I use the gifts and the talents, and how do I steward that? Well, I think about that verse, like, apart from him, we can do nothing. We have. We have no joy, we have no peace. We also have no fruit. We have nothing to give other people if we're not first receiving it from him, if we're not abiding in Him. And so what does even. We've talked about it a little bit, but even for you guys, like, how do you guys stay true and stand firm in your faith daily? What does that practically look like for you guys to make sure that you're staying connected in order to bear fruit and in order to lead other people to Jesus?
Savannah Labrant
Yeah. I mean, I would just say my number one is making sure I'm reading the Word every day that I'm really making the time for it. Because with five kids, it can no help. You know, it could be easy to just be like, I'm just not. This is too hard. Too many people need me. And every time I try to do it or I don't want to wake up at 5am to do it, and I always say I don't want to wake up at 5am to do it because I want my kids to see me ready the Bible. I want them to see that it's important.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Right.
Savannah Labrant
And so I like doing it in the chaos just to teach them, like, this is super important to be in the Word every single morning. But that's where I feel like if I didn't have the Word and I haven't before, and that's where I was lost, or I would be anxious that day or I would be, you know, I'd find no joy in the things that I find joy in. And so when I'm really deep in the Word and making it a priority in my life is when I'm the happiest. Really.
Cole Labrant
Yeah.
Savannah Labrant
And that's when I can stay true to what matters most throughout the day, you know, and not letting the little things.
Cole Labrant
Yeah.
Savannah Labrant
Get to me.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
No, that's good.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
So great.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Hey, friends, it's Maddie. If you've read my new book, Dare to Be True, I would love to hear what you think. Your reviews mean so much to me. They help more people discover the message and the heart behind the this book. So if this book has encouraged you, challenged you, or reminded you to live with bold faith and honesty, would you just take a minute to leave a review? It truly makes such a difference. And if you haven't gotten my new book yet, Dare to Be True, you can go and find it anywhere books are sold. Thank you so much for being a part of this journey and for daring to be true right alongside me. And in thinking about too, like. Because the kind of theme of. Of this episode in. In even why I wrote one of the chapters in my book on purpose is talking about how we were all given, God given, unique purposes. Right. But our purpose that was made uniquely for us is not just meant for us. It's not meant for us to just keep it within. It's not meant for us to just go live comfortably and go live selfishly. We're made to then take what we read in scripture, the gifts we've been given, the resources we've been given to go out and to be fruitful and for people to take that fruit and, you know, and. And and learn more about Jesus and experience the joy of Jesus. And so even just thinking through, like using the gifts and the talents that God has given you guys and encouraging those who are watching and listening, they may not have the platform that you guys have, they may not have access to some of the things that you guys have. But we've, every single one of us has unique, God given unique talents and gifts. And so how would you encourage people to use those gifts for a purpose bigger than themselves? How would you encourage those listening to walk in their true God given purpose? And what does that look like?
Savannah Labrant
Yeah, I'll talk on this. Just, I feel like recently I've, I think for a while I was like, okay, I'm never gonna leave the kids ever. Like, I don't ever want to get babysitters. Babysitters. I don't want to go anywhere. And just recently I feel like meeting Courtney actually is when I, when she started talking about youth is when like my heart just exploded. Like, I was just like, this is what I'm supposed to be doing. Like, apart from my kids, some a way that I can be serving is with these kids. Like, this is where my heart's at right now with like young moms and the high schoolers. So I think just like figuring out what, what your purpose is, like, what makes you happy. How can you pour into other people besides my family? Like, my family is always going to be my number one. But how can I serve now? And you know, now I can like slowly start bringing Everly along and she can start coming to youth. And I just think that's like one area of my life recently where I just found total joy in is serving other people besides my family. Obviously there's the little things that you can, you know, give the homeless man money or help someone get into a hotel room or. But these are the things where I feel like this is like totally changing lives is helping with the young mom who doesn't know what she's doing, or the high school kids who are lost and I could share my testimony and maybe help one of them going through a hard relationship. So now I'm kind of finding purpose in my testimony there versus just my purpose in being a mom. So that's been cool for me.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
What would you say?
Cole Labrant
Yeah, a scripture pops in my head that says, follow me as I follow Christ. And so I think that as hopefully you get to a place to where you're following Christ, well, you're gonna fall in one of three spots and that follow me as I follow Christ either the person saying, hey, follow me as I follow Christ, or the person who's following somebody as they're following Christ, or the person who doesn't. Right. And so it doesn't have to be this big platform by any means that you have. Jesus had 12 disciples. And I think that was intentional. I don't think that was accidental. Jesus did not tell everyone to follow him. Jesus could have had at times. He had thousands, tens of thousands of people that he would speak to. He could have had, you know, probably so many people following him, yet he chose this small, almost exclusive group to pour into. And because of that 12, we have the gospel that has now survived this, you know, 2,000 years later, and wars and the burning of the books and so many things because of discipling 12 people. Well, so I think it's so much. We talked about this at the beginning was so much less about how big your platform is or any of that. We see Jesus time and time and time again throughout scripture in the Bible. Use the least of these and use whoever it is. Use the outcast. You know, he. He almost rarely uses the person who has this crazy big platform, rarely uses the person that's like the it person, Jesus and God, like, because then it would be our own doing. Right? Right. If I go so. Well, of course God used Colin Savannah. Or of course, because they got this many followers. Of course God used. Sometimes I even joke, like, man, like Elon Musk. Right. Like, if God really, really, really needed our money for us to grow this business or for us to grow this thing, like, he would convict the heart of Elon Musk. Right, Right. But it's like Jesus isn't concerned about the things that were. Is concerned about. So whatever your platform is, whatever you have, like you said, you have something, and it's the one. It's the one. It's that. It's that one that you're getting in the trenches with, the one that. Whose life you're really transforming. And that one person might be. Over the course of a few years, we were just talking with somebody who every. Who was it? I want to almost, like, honor them. Like, they said that, like, once every couple years. Oh, it was. I think it was a story of, like, Billy Grant. Do you remember being told the story? I'm probably gonna, like, mess it up, so I almost don't even want to say it. But Billy Graham obviously reached so many people for the gospel. But then they. His brother welcomed in, or one of his family members welcomed in and housed, like a new couple and discipled them once, once a year. And just through like 30 years of like, having a new couple living in their house that they discipled. And the fruit of, like, those 30 couples going off and having kids, their own ministry and their own stuff actually reach more people for the gospel than Billy Graham's ministry. So you could look and be like, wow, like. And no one knows, like, his name or like, what they did, but it was this one year long discipleship of like, hey, here's what we're doing every day and here's how we're gonna mentor you. Then over 30 years, like that slow bearing of fruit. So it can look so different. Right. You don't have to, like, be getting millions of views on social media. You don't have to grow this crazy big. Obviously those can be good things. And if, like, that's what God's called you to, great. But if it's this, like, slow discipleship, I think that God honors that just as much, if not even more. Yeah, that's what we're trying to make sure that, like, we're doing as well is okay. Steward. Well, this. This platform that God's given us for whatever reason, but also, like, not to neglect, like, these other incredible ways that God is trying to work. Yeah. And privacy and. And the slow.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah, it's good.
Cole Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
Cool, man. It's really cool. We're all man. It's funny. I feel like the Lord is doing something in a lot of people's hearts right now where the goal was for God. Give me a big platform so we can reach all these people. And I almost think there's two different. You can gain the whole world and yet lose your soul. So you think of the non believer that doesn't know Jesus. You can gain the world. What good is it? You lose your soul. I think the Christian is tasting this a little bit right now, which is have Christ. But I still want to get a big platform so I can reach as many people as I can. And I think what we're tasting is you can gain that. And something in your soul is being lost. Like, something's not fulfilling in reaching millions of people without them with you. And Maddie and I would talk where she would speak to 10,000 people, get back in a room, we would fly home. And you're like, what is missing? And we were like, oh, yeah. I think God created us to see, touch and feel and wipe their tears away when they cry and have them in the living room. And so reaching those people isn't bad. Unless that's all you're doing. I think you gotta have those people that you're with in the living room. I think that's why youth is so attractive to you. And I'm a part of that as well, where it's like, I'm walking with these people.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
You know, and if we're not walking with people, I think you can gain the whole world in the Christian world and lose your soul.
Savannah Labrant
Right.
Maddie (guest or co-host)
And be like, I'm not even. They're impacted and I'm empty, weirdly. Yet I have Christ. So I think we're in this weird turn of the turn of the tide where it's like, that's great, but man, let's not miss.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah, well.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
And I think a lot of. A lot of what we see too today is that a lot of people in the name of God, quote unquote, are building their own platforms and their own kingdoms, and it's all like, in the name of God, yet it's for themselves. And that's where I think it gets dangerous and scary. And we, like, I think something that we try to do, I don't want to say every day, but something that we try to do intentionally is just get on our knees daily and say, lord, everything, Everything we have is from you and for you. Like, we. We give it back to you. Like, here, here you go. Like, we want to keep open hands and we want to have surrendered hands and sur hearts that nothing in this world has a grip of our hearts. Like nothing in this world is on the throne of our heart except him. And so having that mindset of you give and you take away, everything we have belongs to you, including our marriage, our kids, like our life, our home, our everything, our bodies, like it belongs to you. And just keeping that mindset so that there's not that idolization of. Even as we're talking about purpose, I see on this generation, there's an idolization of purpose. Like we idolize what's God's purpose for my life? And it's like, that's not a bad question to ask. Yet in the midst of asking that question, we're missing God most of the time. It's like we want to, like, we want to bypass, like sitting in the secret place with God. We want to bypass receiving from God, having intimacy with God, serving God when no one's watching so that we can build this platform that everyone sees so that we get glory. And that's what I see happen so much in this generation. And so I. I want to speak because I. I'm saying, like, I'll raise my hand and say, like, I have to have people in my life that say, hey, call me out if I ever fall into that camp. I'm not perfect. I 100% deal with pride and fear and loving the world and these things, and that I have to have coverings and guardrails and people around me to speak into me and call me out. But I think it's so important that. That we just coming from the four of us, and as you guys have heard from these two incredible humans who have the platform, they're saying, hey, this does. This will not satisfy you. Like, if you're putting your hope and your peace and your satisfaction in a platform and in followers and in fame and in money and in success, you will be left empty. Like, Cole, you were talking about the well that just, like you have to keep coming back to. I always think about the woman at the well when Jesus approaches her and says, hey, this. This well you're gonna have to keep coming back to because this water is gonna run out. But when you come to me, I am the living water, and you'll never run out. Like, I give you everything that your heart was designed for and made for. And so I'd love for us to just, like, close this podcast with you guys. Just giving those listening just a piece of encouragement and also maybe even closing us in prayer, whoever wants to pray of just how we can not get lost in idolizing purpose and doing things for God, but also just how important it is to stay connected and to abide and to love our neighbors that are right in front of us and to use the gifts that God's given us. Sure, if God's calling us to reach the masses, but also to just love the people around us.
Savannah Labrant
Yeah. Yeah. I think a good question that I've been asking myself just when reading in the morning is if God were to take away my social media or if God were to take away my house or anything, would I still be okay? You know, and that's something to really sit on. And, you know, I like to tell myself, yes, I'd be fine, but would I really be okay if he were to take some things away from me? And that's where I want to be, in a good heart posture, just so deep into the word to where that if he took anything away from me, like you were saying, I'd be fine because they're all his anyways. Right. So that's just like a good, like, I feel like a question just to ask yourself, is there Something that you would be. So if he took it, that you would just be so angry or so you wouldn't be able to live life that way.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
It's really good.
Savannah Labrant
And if it's holding that much against you, then maybe try getting rid of it.
Cole Labrant
That's great.
Savannah Labrant
Right? And I'm saying this for myself too, so that's just a big thing that I've been sitting on.
Cole Labrant
And Matthew, there's arguably the scariest verse in the whole Bible that says, depart from me. I never knew you. Right? He's telling you that the people who, who thought they were going to get into heaven, people who thought that they did all these things for God, for God to be so unsatisfied and almost angry with them that he says, don't even. Don't even come, you know, depart. I go away. I never knew you. And it's like, that's why he's departing. Making them leave is I never knew you. So I think it's that simplicity of, obviously we have works, driven faith, and so many denominations doing so many, like, here's how and why. But it really is a simplicity of, like, man, as you are with God, if you love me, you'll obey me. So it's not workspace, but it's as you love me, as you know me, you'll want to obey me. And so those works will be evident of that. And you'll do things for God, not because you got to get to heaven, not because you got to work for it. It's nothing that we could ever do. No good thing that we could ever do could earn us into heaven. That's a terrifying thing, right? The terrifying thing is, no matter how many good things you could go and you could go and lead the entire world to Jesus and still not be with Jesus and go to hell. Isn't that terrifying? Yeah.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
So scary.
Cole Labrant
You could lead every single person, and there will be people who led so many people to Jesus, but they were never with Jesus, who won't enter the kingdom of heaven because they. But the good news of the gospel is that there's nothing bad enough that you could ever do that would keep you out of heaven strictly because of how bad you were. Right? That would mean that our good deeds are better than what Jesus did on the cross, or bad deeds are bigger than what Jesus did on the cross, but there's nothing. So it's just that simple reminder of it's not about me, it's about being with Jesus, abiding in Christ, and as we are apart from the vine, there's nothing. So just being with Jesus, being with the vine, and as we are, hopefully that fruit will be produced and whatever way God wants it to be produced.
Savannah Labrant
Right.
Cole Labrant
And it usually looks different than what we want. Usually, right. Whatever you have in your mind, I know that's been true in my life time and time again. Like, man, maybe whenever I'm here, it'll look like this. I think it's good to have goals and family goals and something to look at, but also having it open handed, being like, God, if you want to bring people into my life, if you want to take this away, if you want to do things. We see that all throughout scripture by God being like, hey, we're doing this, and also keeping an open mind that often, whenever God shows up, it's not as exciting as you think it might be, or it's not as fun as you think it might be. Right? That the people had to get to where God was taking them. Had to walk through a lot of hard times, a lot of difficult situations, a lot like, you know, even just look at Joseph and the coat of many colors, like, to get to where he had to be. There was a lot of hardship to get there. We see that in King David's life and almost everyone in the Bible. And so just being like, God, what are you trying to teach me in this season versus, like, God, why is this happening, God, why is this happening, God, why is this happening, God, what are you trying to teach me? What are you trying to speak to me? What are you trying to do and how can I grow and learn from it? And it's a lot easier to say that in this beautiful podcast set, but in real time, as we're gonna leave here and it's gonna happen to all of us, it's real life and it happens to each of us. And it's a constant reminder that I need for myself.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Totally. That's so good. I love you. Spoke to something that I actually write about in my book that it's not works based salvation, but it's salvation based works. When you're saved, when you've been saved by the goodness of God, when you've been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, you, you in his name and through His Holy Spirit, want to do good and you want other people to know Him. So you go and do good works, but you do it not to earn salvation. You do it because you've been saved by his grace. And I think that's so important for people to understand. We're not working to Earn God's salvation. We've, we've been saved only by grace through faith. Yet when we have that faith, we, we. It's like when you experience something so good, you have to tell everyone about it. It's like, oh my gosh, my life has been changed. I have to go and tell the whole world. Like, I have to tell the world that I've experienced this redemption, this power, this love, this, you know, and it's like you want everyone to experience what you've experienced. And so thank you guys so much. This has been so, so good. I'd love for you to just close us in prayer, if you don't mind.
Cole Labrant
Yeah, yeah, let's go hold hands.
Maddie Pruitt Trout
Oh, yeah, yeah. Listen, I'm physical touch. I love this.
Cole Labrant
Lord, we just love you so much and we honor you in this place. God, we, we just thank you for your presence. God, we pray that you would be glorified through everything that, that we ever do. God, I pray over every single person who's hearing this, God, that your peace and that your joy and your presence would just fill their life. God, I pray that you would steer their hearts back to you. God, you are the only one who ever satisfies. And God, we're just, just so thankful for all that you've done, for all that you're doing, and for all that you're going to do. God, I pray that you just help us to abide in you. God, we love you so much and we thank you. In your holy name we pray. Amen.
Savannah Labrant
Amen. Amen.
Maddie Pruitt Trout

Guests: Cole & Savannah LaBrant
In this heartfelt episode, Madison Prewett Troutt welcomes Cole and Savannah LaBrant to discuss how to "stay true" to faith, family, and purpose while navigating the world of social media influence. The conversation explores the LaBrants’ journey from viral video creators to parents of five, their approach to platform stewardship, parenting, and the centrality of Jesus in their lives. The trio dives into the balance between ambition and authenticity, spiritual disciplines, and modeling Christlike values in the public eye—and in the home.
“If your motivation is to get a bunch of followers and to get famous…you’re going to be unsatisfied. Whether you try and it doesn’t happen, or you try and it does happen, eventually you’re gonna be unsatisfied.” — Cole (43:57)
“Whenever I’m with Jesus, life is better. And not better in the sense of having more things…but having that peace and that joy that everybody’s heart is longing for.” — Cole (33:38)
“I love being able to be the number one disciple in my kids’ lives.” — Savannah (58:45)
“I find more joy when I’m off social media…my biggest advice for someone is just to not do it.” — Savannah (40:33)
“Whatever your platform is…you have something. And it’s the one. It’s that one that you’re getting in the trenches with, the one whose life you’re really transforming.” — Cole (72:45)
“If He took anything away from me…would I be fine because they’re all His anyways? That’s a good question to ask yourself.” — Savannah (81:12)
“You could go and lead the entire world to Jesus and still not be with Jesus and go to hell. Isn’t that terrifying?” — Cole (83:14)
The LaBrants and Madison urge listeners to root their identities in Christ, not their platforms, and to seek joy, purpose, and peace first in Him—then in service to family and community. Lasting fruit comes from daily abiding, humble obedience, and surrender, not viral success.
“Lord, we just love you so much and we honor you in this place…God, we pray that you would steer hearts back to you. You are the only one who ever satisfies…Help us to abide in you.”
— Cole Labrant (86:13)
