Nope, Just not possible, Todd, just not possible for us to have a quote unquote normal show. I think by tomorrow it will have been two full weeks between the time we are gathered. Hopefully again, all three of us here in studio, two full weeks have gone by without us having a quote unquote normal show. Either Steve's been at his home studio, we've been running Evergreens, or Ewan and Steve were down in Dallas last week. The reason for Steve's absence, at least we hope only for the first hour of today's show, jury duty. This is not his first rodeo on jury duty. Even though I think every time, I think this is maybe the third or fourth time since I've worked for Steve in the last 10 plus years he has been selected for jury duty. And every time he's never actually selected from the jury pool to actually serve on a jury. Nevertheless, he downed the Polk this morning, the Polk County Courthouse this morning trying to go through the motions there. And I'm guessing he's probably going to get chucked here in the next few minutes, but we shall see. I'm Aaron McIntyre, he's Todd Erzin. We are the Steve Day show minus Steve Days and appreciate each and every one of you listening, watching, wherever however you are. Coming up on today's show, Bob Vanderplaats from the Family Leader will be stopping by. Have no idea what we're going to be talking about, but I would imagine it would be the very hotly contested and very mysterious Iowa gubernatorial race. We'll get kind of the latest inside information on what could be a bellwether for the rest of the country coming up at the bottom of hour one. And then it's Ask Dace anything coming up in hour two. Where are the responses from this week? I suppose I probably should have. Is it from Facebook this week, Ask or tell me anything?
B
Yes.
A
Okay, good.
B
You got the email, right?
A
I did get the email. I sat down to start to produced the graphics about 15 minutes ago and I got distracted and I totally forgot. So we'll take care of that during one of the breaks. But for now it's this. It's the Steve Day Show. And here's what happened while we were away, brought to you by Myst. Again, Saturday evening before the White House Correspondents association dinner at the Hilton hotel in Washington, D.C. a gunman from California named Cole Allen stormed through a security checkpoint with a shotgun and and multiple other weapons before he was apprehended by Secret Service attendees in one of the ballrooms of the hotel. Where President Trump and various high ranking cabinet officials were gathered, were either rushed out as gunfire broke out or were left hiding under tables wondering what the commotion was all about. President Trump exited stage left after Vice President Vance was ushered off stage right within an hour of the would be latest assassination attempt. President Trump posted on Truth Social his desire to have the event go on as planned after the disruption, but later said due to law enforcement concerns, the WHCA dinner would have to be postponed. Later Saturday evening, President Trump addressed the press at the White House.
C
And you have another two plus years in office. Are you concerned about something like this?
D
Well, I can't be concerned. I can only get great people. They did the job a much, in my opinion a much better job than Butler. Butler had one weak spot that we all know about. Somebody should have been up there.
A
Respectfully, why do you think this keeps happening to you?
D
Well, you know, I've studied assassinations and I must tell you, the most impactful people, the people that do the most, you take a look at the people Abraham Lincoln, I mean you go through the people that have gone through this, where they got them, but the people that do the most, the people that make the biggest impact, they're the ones that they go after.
A
The would be assassin was identified Saturday night as Cole Thomas Allen of Torrance, California. A reported graduate of the prestigious California Institute of Technology, he had apparently in recent years been working as some sort of a teacher or tutor in Los Angeles. A manifesto reportedly written by Allen published by the New York Post contained an explicit kill list with rules of engagement, his willingness to kill bystanders if they got in his way at the hotel and attempted rebuttals to those who might question why he wanted to kill Trump and members of his administration wherein he attempted to justify his actions in part by his purported brand of Christianity. And he now faces charges including using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon. As attendees streamed out of the hotel after learning the event would be postponed, they were met by left wing orcs holding up signs on the streets outside saying things like death to tyrants and death to them all. Erica Kirk, widow of the martyr Charlie Kirk, was one of the many who was in attendance. She was seen in just heart wrenching video sobbing as she left the hotel. Fortunately, no one was killed. A Secret Service agent, we're told, took a bullet to the bulletproof vest he wearing. After the dust had settled a bit, President Trump sat down with CBS News his 60 Minutes on Sunday where host Nora O' Donnell did a journalism ing reading from the would be shooter's manifesto.
C
He appears to reference a motive. In it he writes this, quote, administration officials, they are targets. And he also wrote this. I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes. What's your reaction?
D
Well, I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would because you're, you're, you're horrible people. Horrible people. Yeah, he did write that. I'm not a rapist. I didn't rape anybody.
C
Oh, you think he was referring to you?
D
Excuse me. I'm not a pedophile. You read that crap from some sick person?
A
Journalism is magical and not at all broken. Nora o' Donnells idea of journalism is attempting to play sub room temperature IQ word games with a guy who just made it through yet another close call assassination attempt. Less than 24 hours prior, during what would have been the White House Correspondents Association's dinner, late night host Jimmy Kimmel attempted his own parallel programming, cracking an assassination joke at the expense of the First Lady.
E
Our first lady Melania is here.
C
Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.
A
And finally, anytime there's left wing violence or attempted violence, and that seems to be a lot these days, we now return to a relatively new tradition unlike any other. This montage from the account end wokeness.
D
I just don't even know why there aren't uprisings all over the country. And maybe there will be.
C
People need to start taking to the streets.
E
This is a dictator, you know.
C
There needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there is unrest in our lives.
D
Enemies of the state.
A
Show me where it says that protests are supposed to be polite and peaceful.
C
Do something about your dad's immigration practices, you feckless. When they go low, we kick them. How do you resist? Attempt temptation to run up and wring her neck. When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?
C
They're still going to have to go out and put a bullet in Donald Trump.
A
And that's a fact.
C
Look, as his character is stabbed to death, where is John Wilkes Booth when you need him?
D
This way.
A
That's it right there.
D
Pull it up.
C
I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.

And that should be. Everyone should take note of that on both levels that this isn't.

They're not going to let up and they should not. If you think we're rallying now, you ain't seen nothing yet. They're not going to share a country with us, and that's what happened while we were away. Indeed, they're not. I do believe we are at the point, though, Todd, where there's one piece of, I guess you could call it analysis, but it's probably more like a talking point that you hear now, like the tradition, unlike any other left wing violence that's just totally outdated and irrelevant for the times in which we live in. And I want to talk about that in just a moment. But first we need to talk about our friends over at Preborn if you want to make a real impact, a real impact in our world right now. The voices in our culture are loud. You just heard some of them there. The forces of death, the forces of anti good, true and beautiful are loud. But truth is often silent. And today Preborn needs you to help speak that truth. Women facing unplanned pregnancies are often pressured to act quickly before they have time to pause, breathe, and hear the truth about life, dignity and hope. But we have to refuse to be silent. And we're asking you to join us at Preborn Network clinics. To a woman is welcomed with compassion and given a free ultrasound, she sees the life growing inside of her, often for the very first time. And in that sacred moment, fear gives way to clarity. She's often offered something much more than the abortion industry will ever provide. She'll hear the hope of Jesus Christ. This April, our goal is to have 11,000 gospel conversations in Preborn Network clinics, trusting God to bring the increase as we remain faithful to speak to. You can make that possible by sponsoring ultrasounds. Just $28 provides one ultrasound. $140 sponsors five ultrasounds for mothers in crisis. Every dollar helps save babies and share the hope of the gospel. To donate, dial 250 and say the keyword baby. That's £250, baby. Or visit preborn.com Steve preborn.com Steve

Todd, every now and then, and I know you feel the same way as well. I can't remember if it's you and Steve or you or Steve. There are different shows that we tape or different moments and interviews that we tape that just stick out for whatever reason, stand out for whatever reason. I know one of them is John Daniel Davidson. Still, I believe at the Federalist one that you and Steve and myself, to various degrees, invoke quite often America. If it becomes and continues to go down this pagan road, America isn't going to go away. It's just going to become evil. And I believe you and Steve have invoked that from time to time as well. There's one program that we taped, I believe a couple of years ago, maybe a year and a half ago, we ran last spring on a Tablet magazine piece called early or Rapid Onset Political Enlightenment. And let me get the author right here, Onset Political Enlightenment. It's from Tablet magazine. The author is David Samuels. And this piece, we spent an entire special edition episode covering this piece. And it's one of those episodes that we taped that's always just stuck out in my mind. And essentially that piece details how Barack Obama, with the help of one David Axelrod, was essentially able to remake the Democrat Party in his own image and along the way remake foreign policy, American foreign policy, specifically, ironically, as it pertains to Iran in Barack Obama's very weird image. And this details the mechanisms they were able to push and pull in order to remake the Democrat Party in Barack Obama's image and completely rewrite foreign policy as it pertains to Iran in a way that was totally anathema to certain sectors of the Democrat Party, again, pertaining to Iran. And this piece details how David Axelrod, I believe his parents, one was a power, a powerful lawyer, the other was in marketing. I believe that was the case. They used this psychological concept called a permission structure, and they used this in a political sense first, I believe it was during Barack Obama's Senate campaign in Illinois. They used that permission structure. How do we get these white suburbanites? How do we give them the permission to vote for a black man? And they created these permission structures. Hey, he's articulate. Hey, he's moderate. Hey, he's just like you. He's just. All of these stereotypes that have been around, whether there's fair or unfair, maybe some of them are unfair. They were able to cut through that and send Barack Obama to the Senate. One of the ways in which they accomplished the creation of permission structures is by the inculcation of these bespoke and otherwise fairly unknown expert classes of people. They did this with the Iran deal, people you had never heard of, suddenly hoisted by the platform of the White House once Barack Obama was sent to the White House, hoisted up as experts. And suddenly, suddenly all of these newfound experts were starting to push for amnesty for some degree of accuracy or precision with words. They were starting to press for amnesty when it came to Iran, giving them a little bit more leeway, something that was anathema to foreign policy as far as American standards were concerned. The entire idea that was pushed by Axelrod and Barack Obama was not to follow public opinion, but to direct it. That's what the permission structure did. A permission structure to vote for all of these white suburbanites, to vote for a black man for Senate, A permission structure for all of the various classes of the Democrat Party, A permission structure to accept the Iran deal. That was totally anathema. Something like that was totally anathema even back then. And you use these newfangled experts to shape public policy, to shape public opinion, more precisely, not to follow it. I saw someone post over the weekend that Luigi Mangione, the United Healthcare CEO assassin, I saw someone say over the weekend, in the aftermath of the most recent near assassination attempt, say that Luigi Mangione was the left's permission structure to okay political violence, even deadly political violence. Now, I thought, hmm, that's an interesting. That's an interesting take here, that the reaction to Luigi Mangione was the beginning of the permission structure. But, Todd, the more I thought about that, I think that's completely backwards, because what was the end of both of the other examples I cited from that Tablet magazine piece? The ends of the permission structure, the driving of public, the shaping of public opinion. The ends was not just, okay, we'll think about it. The end was always designed for action, whether it's voting for Barack Obama for U.S. senate or whether it's being, okay, let's Go ahead and do the Iran deal, the disastrous Iran deal, and ship pallets of cash over to Iran. It was always action. Todd. I think what we're seeing here is not the beginning or the middle of a permission structure. It is the end of the permission structure. And I said prior or just right after the montage prior to our live read for Preborn. There's one sentiment I see every time we see this left wing violence and it's beginning to get faster and faster. The contractions are getting closer and closer and closer together. And this take, this talking point that I see is we cannot allow this to be normalized. This cannot become normal in our discourse. We cannot allow this to become a regular recurring event. I think that's completely backwards. We're at the end of the permission structure now. We're at the end of it. We're at the action phase of it. Public sentiment at the very least on one half of the political ledger. Totally okay with this. Totally okay with this. Captain Barbossa in a movie I love. I know Steve doesn't like it too much. You best start believing in ghost stories, Ms. Turner. You're in one. Well, folks, I am here to tell you, you best start believing in the normalization of political violence because it's normalized. That should have been maybe the intro to the montage, what happened while we were away, brought to you by normalization complete. Because that's what we're really seeing here, Todd. We're seeing the end of the permission structure. We're seeing the action phase. And so this will continue on and on and on. If and only if. Here's the operative thing. Here's how this is maybe different. If and only if this is not punished, ground this impulse. Ground to fine powder. Ground to fine powder, yes. This latest would be assassin. He was charged within three hours the other night. Saw this morning, maybe terrorism charges on their way as well, which would put him, you know, that's the idea anyway. Put him away for life. Where is he charged? Washington, D.C. So we're now at an impasse. Maybe our first indication was the fact that I believe it was just months, less than a couple, two, three months after the assassination of Charlie Kirk Jay Jones in Virginia, who was fantasizing on text messages about killing his Republican opponents. He was elected to office, public office, statewide office. So we're at an impasse here. If you believe, if I've convinced you that the normalization of political violence is already here and that the talking point, we can't normalize this as really moot. Backwards and outdated. We're at an impasse. So what do we do, Todd? Well, I'll say one thing and you can say your piece as well. What this does is have a chilling effect on everyone. When something is normalized, it's the back of the mind just kind of goes back in the Rolodex. I even said this as well. This is our newfound tradition, this montage from End Wokeness, seeing all of these Democrats, elected officials, Hollywood weirdos, and all points in between just completely overtly calling for violence. Hey, we play the montage. Democrats are a demonic construct. It's true. Democrats have been fomenting violence. It's true. All of that's true. But we just have these talking points. And what the end result is is this is normalized. And so this goes to the back of people's head. And it might be the one thing that people even subconsciously don't even understand. Hey, I want to run for school board. I want to run for city council. I want to run for this. I want to run for office. I want to take a stand publicly. What is the end result of the normalization of political violence? It's all of the acts that you see. It's also the chilling effect. I think people subconsciously will think, well, there might be a crazy in my town. I don't want to take that risk. That's the practical one thing that we cannot allow. I think we just need to maybe on some level accept that for the time being, until, God willing, we can actually accomplish a nationwide movement which we'll not actually see the fruitions of until maybe My grandkids. Grandkids. This might just be a part of pagan America, but that means we have to be brave. That means we still cannot allow this to be silenced. To those of us who know better, that's the one practical thing that I can see. Todd, what are your thoughts?
B
Well, a permission structure is ultimately, that's a psyop, an emotional and psychological psyop. And the reason why I'm not going to bet the house that we are going to react to this any different than they have in the past is that we've got all kinds of psyops. We play on ourselves, on the right to stay addicted to comfort and not do anything at all. And that's exactly why, Aaron, we lie to ourselves about slippery slope and. But there's still time to go and that we aren't at the end of that permission structure. You're absolutely right about that analysis. We are at the end and we have no plans to admit that Walter White is absolutely right now giving you the speech at the end of the show. I am the one who knocks. But we still think he's just kind of a, you know, a gooberish chemistry teacher, cancer patient who's making meth and, you know, but, you know, I've got my own private Idaho over here since I don't, I don't do the blue math. I'm a good person. I don't really have to worry about it. This was borne out in a post I shared on X Today about polit measuring political violence. And Roughly, I think 25% of Democrats say political violence is okay. Three percent of, I believe, conservatives say it's okay. Now, there's a lot of people that are going to look at that. We're not like them. Look good for us. You're seeing it all wrong when Walter White is saying, I'm the one who knocks. We're good. We're going to make sure your kids smoke the meth. We're going to make sure your kids are. Get. Are getting transgendered. That promise is there over and over and over and again. And so when Isaiah 1:5 says, where would you yet be struck? As bad as things are, Aaron, you know that's where the Bible story ended, right? In the Old Testament, everything got better.
A
Yep.
C
No.
B
Then came Jeremiah and then came Ezekiel, and then came Daniel and everybody getting shipped out. Because the answer to where would you yet be struck? Is a lot of places. Yes, sir. Can I have another? I'm just not. I'm just not going to hold my breath. The lies are as beautiful as ever before. 800,000 people attended the NFL Draft in person. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. The number of reasons we have not to care, not to think that everything Aaron just said, it doesn't really apply to us. I. I live on the cul de sac. I've got a good job. My kids, Schools are fine.
C
We're.
B
We're drunk on our lives right now. And I, I don't see anything short of a level of Christian revival that we always talk about as necessary and constantly diagnosed as nowhere to be found because we like our own Christian civil wars as much as we've ever, in my adult lifetime. This is our 3% on the conservative 5 of acceptable violence is indicative. People who have murderers and robbers pounding at your door telling you what they're going to do once they get in on the other side. And you online, doing your last Facebook post, doing something about being Nicer than God. That's the devil. His promise from the very beginning is to wipe it all out, everything. And he's knocking on the door harder than ever in this country. And I don't even think that's a negotiable argument. The only thing that's negotiable about whether all of the things that are regularly spoken about dumb, fat, happy Americans are going to ultimately be true or not, because right now, that's all I see. I see a bunch of people who are more than willing to go to the gallows as long as they're watching their favorite program on tv. Now is the time for choosing

I've said this often about Capital P progressivism, which is kind of the only progressivism in the context of this show that we, that we talk about, that progressivism would rather enslave you than kill you. Now, we're increasingly seeing some parallels. The parallels have always been there, but we're seeing parallels with Islam and progressivism. That's why they're, that's why the, the Free Palestine protests took place largely where the leftist of most left wing college campuses. That's why. But still I think it rings true that leftism progressivism would rather enslave you than kill you. It's always will to power. It always has been. Not much power you have over a dead person, other than maybe trying to ex post facto write whatever you want to about that dead person, characterize that dead person, how, but still not much, still not much power you have over a dead person. Here's something that's been making the rounds this morning. It's from a couple of weeks ago. It's James Carville, quote, I do not want that man Trump to die. I want to watch him suffer. And I can't watch a dead person suffer. How much daylight is there between that quote from James Carville and what I've said about progressivism is not wanting to watch you die, but wanting to, to enslave you. It's, it's that. And invoking what I just said a few moments ago in passing, here's where the parallels with Islam that I've said recently in progressivism, here's where they come to bear. I have said, if you are living in the west right now and you are not an Islamist, but you are not a Christian either, but you do not want Islamism, you will convert or die. And I'm not saying that prescriptively as a Christian, but I'm saying that descriptively because if you do not want to live and abide by Islamism. The only power that can overcome that is Christianity. Similarly, here, if you do not want progressivism, but you don't want to go full bore in the one power, really the real power, not as means to an end, the real power to overcome that, you will be enslaved or you will convert. And again, not just not prescriptively. I don't none, none of us advocate going around converting new disciples by gunpoint. That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying this descriptively

You know, I'm feeling an insurgence of power in the Steve Dase chair. I gotta tell you, I talked to him on the way in this morning and he's. If there, if there's depression sitting in on Steve, it's depression today. Can't believe he's even driving to the county courthouse wondering what he goes, everybody knows they don't want me. Why would I do this? I mean, I'm just. And so I told him about a time when I was in Jefferson. I was a high school teacher, then a basketball coach, and I got selected for jury duty and not only did I have to show up, but then I got into the final 20 where they select the 12 and I'm in a suit tie and you know, I think I'm respected as a teacher and a coach in, in the area and, and I am the first person they vote off the island because they really don't want a jury of their peers. They want a jury of people that they can persuade. And there's a guy right next to me that had a baseball hat on and the baseball hat said if Dolly Parton were a farmer, she'd be flat busted too. They kept him. They kept him. They got rid of. So I told Steve, they're going to vote you off the island. I guarantee you. He was not a happy camper driving this morning. So it was kind of a good time with Steve, but hopefully he gets released quickly.
A
Amen to that. I think our entire audience is, is ready for a quote unquote, normal show of which we have not had one for a couple of weeks. A couple of weeks. So, Bob, I didn't realize this. You just told us. I think this is a good, maybe prelude to our conversation here. You were a part of the same event in Washington D.C. that Steve was a couple of weeks ago. It was America reads the Bible, tell us about reset that event for us and tell us what that experience was. Actually, like.
E
Well, America Reads the Bible actually just concluded Saturday night. And it was the vision of Bunny Pounds. And Bunny Pounds is out of Texas. She runs Christians Engaged.
A
Been on the show?
E
Yeah. We partner with Bunny with different things through the Family Leader, and she asked if we'd partner with her on America Reads the Bible. So the Family Leader was a platinum sponsor of this deal. And part of being a sponsor is that we got an hour of reading time. And so we inserted myself, Greg Baker of our team, but also Chuck Grassley, U.S. senator, Joni Ernst, U.S. senator, and then Ashley Hintson, who's running to be a US Senator. They balanced out our hour. But what it was is really cool. Matter of fact, initially when Bunny cast this vision, I thought, is this really something we should do? I mean, is this some. You know, and. But if Bunny was for it, I thought, we're for it. Let's invest in it. I gotta tell you, it really brought home the. The truth of the word of God does not return void. It's basically off the Book of Ezra that we're going to read Scripture aloud to a nation. And so from Genesis 1 all the way through Revelation, the entirety of God's Word was read. The speaker of the U.S. house, Mike Johnson, kicked it off. Some of you may have tuned in and watched President Trump read from the White House Oval Office, which I believe is the first time a public reading of Scripture from the Oval Office. Second Chronicles 7, verses 11 through 22, which has the infamous verse, the revival verse. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, seek my face, turn from their wicked ways, I'll hear from heaven, I'll forgive their sin, and I'll heal their land. President Trump read that aloud out of the Oval Office. And I believe Bunny told me it's the first time that a president has read that verse aloud since Ronald Reagan. And so Steve was there. I think he read on Sunday of last week, maybe, or maybe I think that's right, or maybe a week ago today. But he read his portions of Scripture. And then on Tuesday, I read mine. And if you guys want to feel sorry for me, I read First Kings, chapter three and four. Chapter three is a pretty easy read. Matter of fact, it's kind of an intriguing read. That's where Solomon makes the judge of whose baby is it? And he says, bring a sword, I'll cut it in half. And the real mother's like, no, no, no, no. Do not cut that baby in half. There was. Yeah, cut in half. Neither of us deserve. And Solomon says, gives it to the real mother, shows his wisdom. But first, Kings 4. And these were Solomon's men. And this is where they came from. And these were his servants. And this is where they the names. I mean, I think I spoke Hebrew. As a matter of fact, Steve even told me we saw each other in the airport. You probably heard about that. We saw each other in the airport in Des Moines before I flew out. He goes, just be fast and confident with every name. And that's what it was. But God blessed it in a big, big way. You had CNN reporting on America Reads the Bible and they put out there all the verses that President Trump read verbatim. So CNN has Scripture on its website, but from Fox News all over the place. So it ended up being a great event. Kudos to Bunny. Kudos to the Family Policy alliance and Christians Engaged. The family leader was just thrilled to be a part of it.
B
Well, for such a time as this, we've been talking about that recently regarding the Book of Esther blowback that was going on. And for such a time as this, Donald Trump's involvement in that is rewarded with another assassination attempt. It says, as if God once again is reminding when you say his word does not return void like Abraham and Isaac, you know, these walks of faith often involve quite a degree of suffering. And instantly, he reminds us of the stakes. There's a poll going on today that I've shared. About 25% of Democrats now believe that violence is totally acceptable. It's 3% amongst conservatives. Now, it's good that we do not want to off our political opponent. But to me, I think that poll is, instead of feeling good about that, that poll is showing us that a quarter of our political opponents want us dead. Do we understand the reality of that or do we just have talking points? Because that Bible reading is ultimately a commission to go out and take back ground. What ultimately should be our marching orders going forth in the face of this obvious evil that hates what they heard at the Museum of the Bible.
E
Well, first of all, it's great insight. Matter of fact, Satan isn't all that bright or clever. His goal has always been to squelch out God's word, to squelch out the truth of God. And so that President Trump would read God's Word and have the revival verse in the Word of God in which he read, as well as all these other leaders from Senator Cruz, Marco Rubio, Pete Hagseff, Susie Wiles, a bunch of cabinet members read scripture as well. Dr. Ben Carson did. And so you Read all this scripture, President Trump being obviously the key figure in the leader, and then you get an assassination attempt. And so to me, it just highlights the whole deal of good versus evil. We're in spiritual warfare. And for those people who want to deny that we're in spiritual warfare, I think you're really missing the boat, the seriousness at stake. It's not even about your political opponent. Paul says, consider them trapped, consider them blinded. You should have almost mercy on them, pray for them, that God would remove the blinders, right? At the end of the day, this is spiritual warfare. And so yesterday, and I don't do this very often, you guys know that, but yesterday I called President Trump and left him a very lengthy voicemail. He didn't pick up, but I left him a very lengthy voicemail. And part of that voicemail was, consider it all joy, my friend, that somebody would want to rush to shut you up, because that means you're doing something. God is using your presidency, God is using your leadership for such a time as this. And matter of fact, when you take a look at when David took out Goliath, yeah, they praised him, they cheered him and all that. Pretty soon, even Saul was pursuing David to kill him, Right? So it was not just David's enemies, it was his friends that were trying to kill him. So when you are doing things and if God has an anointing on your leadership or if he has a purpose for your leadership, there is no doubt the enemy is going to kick back. And we have seen President Trump with all these assassination attempts. This is just the most recent one. And I loved it at the press conference when President Trump was meeting with those he was about to roast and had, you know, a little give and take. But when the people in the press asked him, I said, you know, why does this keep happening to you? He goes, because I'm actually doing something. If a leader leads, they will want to stop you. And here's the way to stop you, Charlie Kirk, I didn't like what you're saying, so I'm going to. I'm going to shoot you, President Trump. I'm going to try to take you out in Butler, Pennsylvania, and I'm going to try to take you out in Washington, D.C. or at Mar a Lago, wherever it might be. But I'm going to try to shut you up and praise God for a guy like President Trump with a bold and courageous spirit who wants to lead at such a time as this.
B
Another biblical passage I'm very fond of, Isaiah 1:5. Where would you yet be struck, obviously, when Isaiah said that the nation of Israel didn't just, hey, let's put our house in order. Let's get our act together. Ultimately, that's a people that all got shipped out to Babylon. What do we need to do in this moment? So we aren't that people, both at the national level and right here in Iowa. It is simply undeniable after all the work that you and Steve, the family leader have done, Kim Reynolds have done, we got a little fat, dumb and happy on the right with our state of things. And that gubernatorial election right now absolutely speaks to that. This is, this, this is not an ideal situation to be dealing with. We hope to come out clean on the other side. But if we, we took some things for granted, clearly. And that's not just on every voter on the right. That's on the people that are your bread and butter. What, how do we use this moment to galvanize not just in a political way, but in a truly spiritually edifying way, because we are just obviously a little soft in the belly right now as a spirit filled people.
E
Well, let me answer those questions in reverse order. First of all, you're exactly right. We are very complacent. And we're complacent here in the state of Iowa, probably even around the country, because you're in control. We have control of all three branches here in the state of Iowa, in D.C. control of all three branches in the U.S. now we're wondering, well, what good is that? But you still have control. So you get complacent. And the opponent is now, I mean, they have a rallying cry. They want to win. They want to win the governorship in Iowa, they want to win Congress in Washington, D.C. they want to defeat Trump, but they first want to impeach him. That goes back to, I want to watch him suffer. Okay, want to impeach him. So what is. It's going to take leaders and part of it's what you guys are doing here through Steve Dase and you guys have a Steve Day show, part of it through the family leader trying to shake and awake, shaken awake. Something important's at stake here. Right. But I see it, Todd, when I go across the state of Iowa trying to help out Adam Steen to become governor, the people are not there because things have been so good. They're complacent. When Terry Branstad and I ran against each other in 2010, there's a lot of juice. But why? Because the Democrat controlled the governor's office. And so Our numbers went way down. I think these numbers are going to be way suppressed in this actual midterm. Adam Steen is bringing up the whole concept of good versus evil this election. Good versus evil. Transgendering kids is evil. Having boys participate in girls sports and use their locker rooms is evil. Okay, so it is a battle of good versus. It's always been a battle of good versus. You saw it in Washington D.C. at the correspondence dinner. So what do we do? One is leaders need to lead. Ezekiel, listen, if they go down that path and you didn't warn them, the blood is on your hand. If they go down that path after you warned them, the blood's on their hands. So as leaders, you got to lead, make sure they know what they're getting into. Right? But then to go back to President Trump and America reads the Bible for us as believers, God's always worked through a remnant. If my people, that's a personal call to us who are called by my name, we wear his jersey. Right? If you'll humble yourself, if you'll pray, if you'll seek my face, if you'll turn from the wicked ways, then I'll hear from heaven and I'll forgive your sin. I'll heal your land. Now is that going to be healing the land of America? I sure hope so. The land of Iowa? I sure hope so. But it could be a marriage, it could be a parental relationship, it could be your relationship with God. But I pray that we have a healed land here. That's what we can do. We seek, we pray, we humble ourselves, and we turn from our wicked ways.
B
Isn't one of the biggest problems that we've got a couple minutes left with the modern day church and I just want to go a little deeper on what you said. We're not only supposed to be acting when we're in trouble, our level of gratitude and action when things are good and listen, we just overcame it in recent years memory. My daughter, who's just about to graduate from college, it was just four years ago that she had to go down and lead the effort and save girl sports and all of the transgenderism. I mean, it's, it's happening right now. We have not slain this beast. We've got no excuse for being fat, dumb and happy. But even if we were, our action would be the church is supposed to be constantly filled with gratitude and preserving what we fought so hard for. Is that perhaps the biggest sin of the church these days, that it does not realize how much it is owed? Just because that level of gratitude to the God who gave us all we have to be grateful for is just supposed to be what we do on any day that ends in y. And we seem to have lost sight of that.
E
You bring me back to a lot of scripture. One is, enter the gates with thanksgivings. Enter into the courts with praise. First of all, praise him that we get to do this. Yeah, I praise him that we get to live in such a time as this that he'd count us worthy enough to be on the front line of the battle right now. So enter his gates with thanksgiving. His courts would praise. But he also says, be bold and courageous. Stand firm. And what he means by stand firm on God's word, stand firm on my word. Then be bold, be courageous. And he says, be strong, meaning be strong. When you get shot at, you stay strong and do everything you love. Love for your neighbor.
A
Amen. Thank you so much, Bob. Have a good rest of your day. When we come back, it'll be Ask Dace anything. And it sounds like Steve might actually be here. What's coming up? Steve is here. He literally walked in the door like 15 seconds before the show or before this hour of the show started off.
B
He's still in the phone booth changing like Superman right now.
A
He is indeed trying to. At the very last minute, I switched the automation from me hosting or from Steve hosting to me hosting just so I could give him a few extra moments of time. It is the Steve Day show, hour two on the way. Coming up this hour will be Ask Dace anything featuring questions and comments from Steve's following on Facebook. Just give me a thumbs up when you're ready to go, Steve. I'll try to. Try to fake my way through this as best as I possibly can.
B
He's almost there. He's almost.
C
I'm almost there.
B
There we go.
C
All right, look, he exists. There we are.
B
It's like you were in the hide that.
C
There we go.
B
You were in the injury tent at halftime, and they looked you over and here he is sprinting.
C
Just got my bell rung.
B
Just got your bell.
C
I mean, that's what they used to call concussions back in the day. Just got your bell rung.
B
Smelling salts ready to go?
C
Yep. Go ahead and lather up and head back out there. So I have no idea. I mean, we were. We were on incommunicado in there. And I got to the last round of cuts. That was a close call. It was a real estate fraud case. Because I'm thinking, how do I even pass any kind of screening? Like at all. How is it even possible? Right? So I'm thinking the odds are I'm gonna go right away or I'm gonna have to go all the way to the end, Judge. Like, this is gonna probably take at least a week. I might go, gosh. And then it's a real estate fraud case. So it's like nothing specifically in my wheelhouse. You know, Thankfully, I knew one of the witnesses that they mentioned some of the witnesses, and I knew one of them. I mean, I haven't spoken to him in like 15 years, but I did. I do know one of them, you know, and the whole thing was about essentially. I don't know the details, but from what they're saying, it sounds like a. A land deal was done that didn't have a inspection to it. And then one of the parties basically feels they got screwed and frauded because the thing turned out to be a money pit. Right. And. And so the defendant was. Is a heart surgeon in town. Didn't know. Did not know the name. Right. So I gave the most truthful, extreme answers on one side that I possibly could. Right. I mean, I'm like. I mean, I don't know. I mean, they asked me about what I thought about buyer beware. I'm like, I don't know. I mean, I kind of think, you know, but we have laws. Sure, you could screw somebody, but we have laws. I mean, that's. You still can't do that legally, you know, and the guy over there is a doctor. He's got liability. He's a specialist. He's got liability insurance of wazoo. Right? So he has to obviously know what's at stake here, not to mention his own reputation. Right. If he was to get dragged through the much. See what I did there? All things that are relatively true. Right? But what you can't do, though, is make it look like you can see both sides equally. I knew once I did that this was gonna be the Todd and Aaron show this week. So I. I just staked out the side I was the most comfortable with, stated it with confidence, and I got out of there about 15 minutes ago. So. So what's been going on? I mean, we couldn't. I couldn't follow anything. Couldn't be on anything. Right. You guys good? We good?
A
I think so.
C
All right. Bob nearly ran me over out there in the parking lot. I was beginning to think we were just never going to get back to normal.
A
No, this is visual proof.
C
I mean, I've been longing to just get back into, you know, me I like my routine, right? And I love doing the public speaking stuff. I do. I really love it. It makes me love my routine even more. So I was. I was longing to get back into the routine, and then this thing comes down over the weekend. I'm like, I was beginning to think we were just never going to all three of us be in the studio again, so.
B
Well, had you been on jury duty, we would have been in the same room again because Aaron and I would have taken all of that equipment of his meant for Israel. We would have done the roadshow in the courtroom for sure. That would have been must see tv.
C
So everybody's updated. We didn't get a chance to do BUC EE's. We had meetings that went too long, which worked out okay. So that way we can save it for the next time we're all three together to get there, which was the original intent. Everybody's been all updated on that. We're good to go. Yep. All right. All right. We're brought to you by our friends over at the Beam Dream Powder. How much would you pay for a good night's sleep? How about a buck 25? At this point, at day show on YouTube. That's. At day show on YouTube. We have. What is it we have now? 23,000 subscribers.
A
Feels like 23, but yeah, if we
C
only have 23,000 subscribers, one of two things is true. The Blaze are absolute fools for carrying this show on a platform of that magnitude. If that's all we can generate is 23,000 YouTube subscribers, I have no idea. What am I? My third contract with the Blaze. Why'd they sign me to the previous two if that's all we can generate? That's one option. What's the other option?
B
Lies.
C
Lies. Yeah. Yeah. You can also subscribe to the podcast version. A lot of you like that. Or hit follow to subscribe on Apple itunes. That way you'll know for sure that every time we do a new episode, it's right there for sure in your feed. And make sure to be one of those tens of thousands of us, of you that have given us, I should say, a five star review. And we thank and appreciate each and every single one. All right, let's get to it. Time to ask me anything. No question is or topic is off limits. There are no stupid questions, just stupid people who ask questions. Todd, your job is to make sure snotty questions get selected, but not stupid ones. I have not looked at any of the samples of questions we received from our followers on Facebook. Do we have. Are we ready to go? We loaded for bear?
B
We're ready to go. The only thing I would say is that I, Thinking you were going to be here, I pretty much screened out the latest assassination attempt questions, thinking you would address it. So if. If there's room or time for you to get whatever you need to off your chest, now would be the time.
C
I'll just say. Then I'll say, thank you for that. Heads up. Then I'll. I'll just say a couple of things then, quickly, and then we'll move on to your questions. Number one, this is why, hey, if you want to ask me where I stand on stuff theologically and why, I'll answer all your questions. We're about to probably do some of that. I'm happy to entertain your discussions and arguments. All right. I mean, I went down and did one of the. What they used to be called Ask me anything now they're called pick up the mics under Charlie's old, you know, old tent down there at Middle Tennessee just about a month and a half ago. Took all kinds of questions. So you can ask me any theological questions you want. Any biblical questions. You want. Happy to do that. Obviously, I, I hope and pray that my answers are at least correct enough, you know, otherwise I've got the wrong or bad theology. Right? We discuss matters around here on our show all the time in our various differences. But if you want to know why, just don't hang out all online all day. It's. It's not that I'm not aware of some of the divisions that exist here. It's. It's not that I'm not aware that in, in other eras, the theological differences that existed between Catholics and Orthodox, between Catholics and Protestants, and frankly at times between Protestants and Protestants. It's not that I'm not aware that these divisions matter. In some cases they might be salvation issues depending on the individual and how far they take some of these teachings and, and our, and our forebear, our forebears and our ancestors that gave us this thing called Western civilization, they thought enough of these differences that they literally fought over them. I'm not unaware of this. I'm just aware that I'm not living in that era. There is, there is no Pope in Rome attempting to impugn on my conscience as a Protestant. Likewise, I'm, I'm not aware of any Protestant ruler or king who is attempting to turn you guys all into, you know, dissidents for your Marianism. I'm not aware of this. We're not in that era. We should live in the times in which we live. And yet another assassination attempt is yet another reminder of why I don't sit online all day long and pretend that there was no Christianity between the Church fathers and the Reformation. We just took a millennia and a half off. God got a to after the last of the church fathers died and said, you know, I'll hit you back after the Dark Ages. Good luck on your own. I don't act like that. I also don't sit around even though I'm not aware of anybody with a show that has any significant following at all that has done more study and, or skepticism of dispensationalism and the contemporary pro Israel takes on things from an eschatological viewpoint. That is kind of the conventional wisdom of our era. Right. Who's done more shows on that and questioning that than I have for the, for the entirety of the 20 years of my career. Which is why I know much of what gets discussed as dispensationalism online is from people that just don't even know what the term actually means. That's why I also don't sit around Just dog and dispensationalist. Because it's a term. Most people don't know what it means. Just a buzzword to trope. It's the. It's. It's a segment of the rights version of systemic racism. What's that mean? Define that. And the reason why I don't sit around wasting my time in either of those two mosh pits is because what we're up against is a unified spiritual cultural force and it will murder every last one of us if it's given the chance. Every last one of us if it could. So by all means, you may. You may grab your rosaries and venerate Mary on whatever car you guys want all the way to the camp. Cool. And you might be in the car next to him. Well, I really think that's just brazen idolatry. Argue that all the way to the camp. Go all the way to the last stop. Cool. That's not the fight we're having right now. That's not the existential fight of this era. In past eras. It was in past years. If you wanted to. If you wanted to venerate Mary, there was. And you in. In. In Western Civ. Pretty good idea that if you were in the wrong country, the Protestant king may have a terse word or two, if not a flat out persecution for you.
B
Right, Right.
C
And the script would flip in the other direction, would it not?
B
Yes.
C
Is that the era we're in right now? Who's impugning on the conscience today? Is it us or is it them?
B
Them.
C
It's them. So therefore, the fight is not internal, is it? No, it's outside. And we're all gonna either hang together or we are going to hang separately. Of that I am confident. And that's also why I became enamored with Charlie's ability to put this coalition of people together despite their differences, understanding the signs of the times and what to do about them. And then I'll close with this. I had somebody ask me yesterday at church if I thought now that one of their stormtroopers went into an event where a lot of their media was at and just with an intent to just open fire if that would cause the. The left to dial down the venom at all. My answer to him, no. No. The kinds of forces that they've unleashed on their side cannot be managed. Have you guys seen this thing with Taylor Lorenz going around? Oh, yes, the psycho of psychos. The, the. The. I mean, if there's anything close to Marjorie Taylor Greene, Laura Loomer, who, of course, are fighting now. And I would. I would advise you. What do you do when two crazy ladies fight? You shut up and watch. That's what you do. Shut up and watch. If Taylor the Ren is the closest thing to a figure like that that you see within lefty social media, just an absolute crazy lady still wearing a mask in the year of our Lord 2026. Right. She's getting absolutely annihilated for attending that White House correspondence dinner on. On Saturday night. Just annihilated and complaining about it. What do you. I'm your enemy now. Yeah. Yeah. There will be no dialing it down. If they dial it down, these forces will just turn on them. There will only be a dialing up. There will be no. The social compact is broken. There will be no way out of this other than one side gets defeated and the other side is the victor. No other solution. We are playing for existential stakes now. It is a zero sum game. In past eras, like hundreds of years ago, like before there was even a Declaration of Independence, the existential stakes may have been Catholic and Protestant, depending on your tradition and way of life and the way your conscience wanted to live. That is the history of our ancestors, is it not?
B
It is.
C
The existential stakes also might have been, and may end up being again, if we get this one wrong here on our shores, Christianity versus Islam. That one's been decided and determined back and forth throughout the centuries, too, has it not?
B
Indeed.
C
But. But the fight right now, and I detest Iran. Have most of my adult life. I'm way more threatened by libtards. Venomized, weaponized. I'm way more threatened, and my way of life is way more threatened by them here in my borders than I am Iran. And that was true even before Operation Epic Fury. Which is why I wasn't just waving a flag and saying, go get them. We cannot fight Iran harder than we fight Minneapolis. Can't do that. Well, we could, but that's how we're going to lose. Like, everything. Not forget the next election. Like literally everything. There will be no dialing down of this. There will be no internal dialogues or discussions. There will be no reassessments. These people watched one of their own go to a suburban Virginia ball field almost a decade ago and open fire against their own colleagues. And then when their colleagues, unfortunately to them, didn't die but returned back to work, was there any dialing down of the rhetoric? Was there any reassessment of things that was like, eight years ago. No. What they've unleashed cannot Be controlled. It cannot be managed and it will just turn on them. So it's going to have to be defeated by at least somewhat of the resolve, if not the zealotry, somewhat of the resolve that they have to kill us is what it will take to stop them from doing so. Is that kind of what you were looking for? Maybe we all were. Okay, before we move on and get to the questions then, one of the biggest lies we see in consumer culture these days is the idea that all the natural personal care brands are still these small companies, the little engines that could. Except a lot of these have been quietly bought out in the last few years by massive corporations, private equity firms. And they've replaced those, replaced those real ingredients with the cheaper stuff, the chemical substitutes. But not advanced, man. They're going in the exact opposite directions. They're tallow bomb, made from grass fed tallow. There's a reason that matters. The fatty acids in tallow are nearly identical to the oils your own skin naturally produces. Your body recognizes this instead of fighting it. That's just one example. All right, so give your eyes the care they actually deserve. Go to Van Man Shop Dace. Use the code DACE for up to 15% off your first order. That's Van Man Shop code slash DACE. Code DACE for 15% off your first order at Vanman Shop DACE. Code DACE for fifteen percent off your first order at Van Man. Real ingredients, no exceptions. All right. And with that, Aaron, fire away.
A
We'll begin with Stephen Linwood hall, who says if politics is downstream from theology, does growing indifference to political violence reveal something deeper about our spiritual condition as a culture?
C
10,000%. Whenever we have, whenever political differences get to the point that they can only be, one side believes that it can only be settled by violence. It's because either they are godless or the other side has become godless. So our founding fathers spent years trying to lobby the King of England. They, they just wanted to be recognized as Englishmen. That's what no taxation without representation meant. Hey, we, we are, we're Englishmen. I mean, there's a Magna Carta. We, we want to be acknowledged as, as gentlemen. We're, we're citizens of the realm. And the King refused years and years of negotiations before we get to July 4, 1776.
B
So
C
the result of warfare to settle political differences is because either those using the violence have become godless or what you're up against is godless and has left you no choice, because otherwise your entire way of life will be taken away. From you. You guys okay with that answer?
B
Yeah.
C
Yeah.
A
Okay, next is Tracy. What parts of the Old Testament laws should we abide by and why?
C
Great question, particularly for nowadays. So this question was hotly debated. You know, we've answered this question several times throughout the years. Okay. But I know, because we have people with platforms bigger than our own that think they're God's editor, that more people are thinking about this than ever before. And that's great. You're just giving me an excuse to talk more Bible and more theology, and I will not complain about that. Right. Because remember, when Christianity is first ascendant in Rome, it is a largely Jewish religion having a largely Jewish argument. Is this carpenter from Nazareth, where nothing good comes from, is this carpenter from Nazareth the long awaited son of David, son of man, the anointed one, the Christ, the Messiah? Is he or not? That's why everyone who writes the New Testament is a Jew. Well, Steve, what about Luke? We. We now think most of the modern scholarship actually thinks that Luke was a Hellenized Jewish. But even if that doesn't turn out to be correct, the more and more we research it and look into it. Okay, that gives you 2 of all the other books then written by Jews, Acts and Luke. There's a reason why the New Testament begins with the genealogy of Judaism that traces all the way from creation to Christ. So this is a uniquely Jewish argument that is being had at first, but then they're given a great commission, right? So you start in Jerusalem, then you go to. Then you go to all of Judea, which was Israel at that time. Then you go to Samaria, and then you go to the end of the earth. So the further they get out from their own neighborhoods, particularly now with Paul's missionary journeys, they now start encountering these people called Gentiles or non circumcised, non Jewish people. And there is a great dilemma among them about what to do with this. They have three different kinds of laws. They have a moral law, they have a civil law, and they have a ceremonial law. Those are the three different kinds of laws as Jews that are part of their heritage from the Old Testament. And there was much great debate. And then there were other sects of people, like folks called Judaizers, who are then trying to tell people, you only the circumcised can be saved. If you're not circumcised, then Christ's atonement doesn't apply to you. So this was constantly being debated in the early church. It's one of the Your question is one of the paramount debates of the early church, which is why I believe, Todd, it was. This is the very first conclave ever called in the history of the, of the Church. It's in the book of Acts, right? The Council on Jerusalem. Yes, it is called in Jerusalem is to settle this matter. And they got together as church fathers, as disciples. Most of the disciples are still alive at this point. Peter and Paul are both there. In fact, they get together, they pray this through in the Spirit, they research the Scriptures and under their apostleship, they release a letter. And essentially what it says, just to summarize, you'll find it in the Book of Acts. Essentially what it says is that the. Is that the, the ceremonial law and civil law was unique to the Jewish people in Old Testament Israel and that the. In other words, those were laws that we see specifically given to Moses throughout the Pentateuch of how they were to live distinctly as people. But the moral law existed before that. What came first? Cain. Cain commits the first murder or the Mosaic law? What came first?
B
Cain commits the first.
C
So there was already a moral law broken, correct?
B
Yes.
C
What came first? Adam and Eve eat of the fruit of the, of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil or their Mosaic law?
B
Adam and Eve.
C
So there was already a moral law, right?
B
Yes.
C
So the moral law was already there. And it was there before there was a nation called Israel. It'll be there long after there will no longer be one. Which in this period of time is only a few years away. I think this is somewhere around 50 something ad this took place. So we're going to have, this is going to happen in about two decades, that the temple is going to be destroyed and much of the Jewish religious liturgical practices will be ended in Jerusalem. And so what they concluded was since the moral law was pre existent and it is the breaking of the moral law that separates us from God. How many of the 613 laws that God gives to Moses in the Pentateuch were Adam and Eve were revealed to Adam and Eve? Very few. So since the moral law pre existed, the other laws, it's embedded in the code and it's the breaking of that moral law that separated us from our Creator, requiring an atoning sacrifice in the first place. That is the law that Christians are now to still in the power of the Holy Spirit at work in their lives are now to go into keep. So your question was debated hotly, particularly because we're for the first time now going to have a church where Jews and Gentiles are now going to worship together where circumcised teenage boys and uncircumcised 70 year old men are going to go to church and worship the same Lord together. So how are we going to work all this out? Well, we're in a new covenant now. And in the new covenant, the ceremonial and civil laws were for a nation called Israel. The moral law is for all the nations. And that is the law that we are all held accountable to before God. And we will all either have a get out of jail free card in the blood of Jesus Christ or we won't. So all of us are either are either under, under grace by the blood of Christ or law, no in between option. And you cannot keep the law, which means you're cursed because you can't stop sinning. Especially when it's what comes out of your mind and heart is really the source of sin. For example, right now, for the next two minutes, think of the person who hurt you the most and try not to not try, try to only forgive them and not to wish any, any harm to them whatsoever as an unbeliever. Go. And you lost. Good, Good, Aaron, good.
A
I think so. Okay, Joel is next. Can you renegotiate your current contract with the Blaze for an additional hour of your show? In fact, I'm willing to stand in long suffering lines with Todd to dig into additional layers of dialogue. Truth reveals light, therefore the truth broadcast from your show needs more time.
C
So at the time when this was all done, I think, I don't think there is a live show after us now. Aaron, is there because Dave Rubin and stuff was on when Live one?
A
I don't think so.
C
When we were first, when this deal was first put together, I think we had people like Dave Rubin and other people on live like right after us. And that's why the overtimes got created by the way, because we couldn't add a third hour. Right. So I think like Prather was here and those people, these people I think all had live daily shows, did they not? I think so. So I mean if they want another hour, I'm happy to negotiate that we would not necessarily be opposed to it provided that, you know, we're not doing it for nothing. We're not a non profit, but if that's something that Blaze wants, we can discuss it. Sure.
A
Next we go to Joseph Drake who says will the Republicans midterm strategy be vote for us so we can pass the SAVE Act?
D
Yeah.
C
Oh gosh, no, no, that's, that's because that's Not a strategy. That is self parody. I mean, there's a reason. Didn't Trump just post over the weekend, if we don't pass this thing, we're going to get annihilated in the midterms. Didn't he just post that on True Social? Yeah, yeah. And he's right. Saying on this show for months now. But no, no, no, that is, that's essentially saying your strategy is, we're going to pee on you and tell you it's raining. And in the past, they. They got away with a lot of this because it was just hard to keep up with what everybody said, what everybody did all the time. And now because of these devices, they don't get to do that anymore. Everybody's on the record all of the time. So I haven't re. I haven't re. Reset this in a bit, but let me reset. The SAVE act is the best opportunity we have to save the midterms, and it still may not do the job because we still have an overall economic problem we have to deal with. But if you can't get the SAVE act law, you don't even get to the economic problem. You don't even get there because you have just knifed a portion of your own base that is probably never coming back in this cycle. And it doesn't have to be a lot. I think when people hear me say that, Todd, I think they think that, I mean, like, 30% of our base isn't going to show up and stuff. That's not what I mean. Like, if 3% of our base doesn't show up, we're screwed. You keep in mind what the margins of this really are nationwide. Trump won a presidential election in 2016 by less than 80,000 votes in four states. Biden won a presidential election in 2020 by about 60,000 votes, and what was it, six states, something like that. So the margins here are thin. You don't have to. You don't have to turn. You don't have to make a lot of people just frustrated. I'm out. You just betrayed me too many times. And at some point, I have to salvage my own conscience here, my own dignity here. I just can't let you take advantage of me again. No matter what Republicans do, by and large, an overwhelming majority of our base is going to vote for them in every single cycle. It's not good enough. We need, like, zealot levels of turnout. Like, I'm gonna try to vote a couple times if I can. If you don't pass the SAVE act, you're not going to get that. And, and then probably the level of economic recovery you need is just really not achievable in a real world to compensate for that. So it's a two tiered process. The first is you have to solidify your base by passing this legislation. And then, then we have to hope that the economy grows enough that we bring back the normie and independent voters. More in a moment. The Steve Day. I got a good box in the mail over the weekend,
B
and
C
it's the Kexi Mother's Day cookie collection.
B
You're not a mom. You realize that?
C
I know, I know. But does it count if you made her a mom? Does that count? Are you mom adjacent? I mean, we're all mom makers here. We've all made a mom. Right? Made somebody a mom. Right.
B
So I'm not named Amy.
C
Okay, Is that if we're, Is that, are we adjacent enough then that we can say, hey, you know, we had something to do with you being a mom, Right?
B
No, she has. She looked in you in the eye and said, steve, you're adjacent enough because that's. You're. Look, I can't give you the green light on this one, my friend.
C
We finally found a topic. Todd's like, I want, I want no part of that. All right, all right. I live at home with four women and I'm out. I'm. I'm out. Where's Josh Pate? No, the new Kexi cookie box is in for Mother's Day. The limited edition flavors. Listen, the standards are there, like the Texas chocolate chip that you're going to get in every single Kexi box year round. But then you've got the Mother Day. Mother's Day flavors, like German chocolate. Rich, layered, well done. And I've not had a chance to try any of these yet now. They just arrived. I'm just based on, you know, future, past history, which is usually the leading indicator of future performance. I'm just going to go ahead and sign off on the fact it's rich, layered and really well done because their cookies always are. They ship straight to your door. Right. But these are limited and they sell out every year. So go to kexi.com k e k s I k e k s I. Right, right. And if you use the code DACE, you'll get 15% off. All right, that's kexi.com. okay. Code DACE for 15% off. Oh, I should mention, because the Mother's Day boxes are a limited quantity, the discount does not apply to that. Okay, but you can apply the discount to all the other stuff that they do there too. Okay, so K e k s I dot com. That's my mistake, my bad. Kexi dot com code dace for 15% off unless you want the Mother's Day box, which is in limited supply. And trust me, these do sell out, right? I've had these sell out on me. So I didn't get a box sometimes. Because you guys should come first, right? All right, so kexi.comcodedace all right, let's get back to some ask me anything.
A
All right, we will continue on with this from Mickey McCombey who says how close to Bible prophecy, Revelation 19:50. He comes to strike down the nations with a sharp sword and rule with a rod of iron. Mickey wants to know how close are we to that?
C
I don't know. I mean, Jesus on one hand says no man knows the day or the hour. On the other hand, he wants us to understand the signs of the times. Okay. So I. I guess I take that to mean do not try to get hung up on specifics that are outside of our understanding and control. There was a. One of the. One of the first groups of people that really fell in to what we call today dispensational dispensationalism were called the Millerites. And they were convinced that they had figured out the exact day and hour of Christ's return. So they sold off all their stuff. This wasn't a Herald landing. I'm just going to say it on a radio broadcast or. Who's the guy? Hal Lindsay, who wrote 1988 in late great Planet Earth back and think in the 70s or 60s, these people, they were, they. They went all the way. Todd would be proud. They agreed faith without works is dead. They sold all their stuff off, right? Went out like into a field and waited to get raptured. Did they get raptured? No, they did not. No. And then they're like, well, we're now going to be the start over rights. Because they had to start all over. Okay. So I think one of the reasons that we don't know the day or the hour is because a high emphasis in the New Testament is placed on perseverance and finishing your race. And. And we're. And part of that is for us to occupy until he returns or occupy until he comes. So.
B
And by that you mean a non video game playing?
C
That is exactly what I mean.
B
Okay. Just wouldn't be.
C
Without question. Without question. That's what I mean. Yes. So if I'd like to Think most of us, if we knew that the day was tomorrow, would do what we are called to do. Well, what are we called to do? See, I think a lot of you think it is, well, I'd quit my job and just do full time evangelism. Your job is part of your evangelism. In which of his epistles does Paul say, I am retiring from tent making so that I can just do full time apostleship. And all I'm going to do is just sit here and write and send letters. Do you remember which epistle it was he said that?
B
I do not.
C
No. You know, why didn't, he didn't say that. He didn't say that. And I think we don't understand that God is in the mundane and you never know what's in that mundane. The dots that could get connected, the relationships that may occur that are part of your overall testimony and your sphere of influence and whom you're supposed to share and witness to. Because I think a lot of us, if we found out for sure that Christ was coming back tomorrow, we'd go full Kareem Abdul Jabar in the stand, shave our head, put on the placard, wave all the incense like we were, you know, Russian Greek Orthodox and just go out into the streets and scream, bring out your dead. I think a lot of us would probably do that. But I, I, I think we're to continue all the way to the end, to get married all the way to the end, to have babies all the way to the end. To plow your row all the way to the end, all the way to the end. So read the signs of the times. But I would not necessarily get, you know, all that caught up on specific dates. That all being said, before I went to bed last night, I watched a 30 minute video online and I cannot remember who it was from, but it was taking all of the various, all of what we know of the various eschatological theories and as much as much writings and stuff as we have from church fathers and historical figures in the church and ran them through Grok, right? And essentially Grok AI's read was quasi preterist, meaning strong evidence that much of what we think are future events were already fulfilled. But also like a hybrid of preterist futurists. Futurism means some, if not most or a few still have yet to be fulfilled. And they can't be. Christ can't return until they are, or his return will fulfill them. And that I think it was that sometime between 2037, if that, that GROK claimed that it found all kinds of pattern, prophetic patterns in history. Right. Which, which would lead to the coming of Christ the first time, the advent of the church, etc, and that Grok AI's best guess is that sometime between 2037 and 2045 would be the fulfillment of prophetic history. Is that right? I don't know. Maybe I'll be alive to find out. It also might be in the next five minutes, you know, so there are some of us that God is absolutely called to be full time missionaries and to forsake a lot of the relationships and things that we as human beings
D
are,
C
are greatly desirous and needing of. And I think people that have been giving that calling have also been given kind of an anointing that they, they don't necessarily need those relationships as much as maybe the rest of us without that anointing do. Fair. Right. Outside of that group though, your job and mine, whether Jesus returns tomorrow or not, in our lifetimes, is until our last breath, be the best disciple we can be. Be the best witness we can be as husbands, fathers, wives, mothers, siblings, cousins, citizens, employees, employers. The reason why there is something in the Bible that speaks to all of those personal, interpersonal dynamics and relationships is because that's what's expected of us. If we were truly down to the last few minutes. Go hard, go harder than you've ever gone before in the arenas where you already have been placed. It wouldn't be drop everything, abandon my family and hit the streets. It would be, no, do everything you were doing to love the Lord your God while your hearts will strengthen mine even harder. Do everything you were doing to love your neighbor as you love yourself even harder. That's what it would mean.
A
Next question, we'll go to John o', Connor, who has this. It's just coincidence the last assassination attempt came right after the reading of the Bible? I think not.
C
Well, I think. Isn't Trump the first president to read the Bible aloud since is it Coolidge or Lincoln? So it's like 100 years or almost 200 years. It's been a minute since this has happened. Right, so. And then he didn't just read any portions. You guys see what portion he read?
B
Yeah, we talked about that.
C
You guys talk about that with Bob? Yeah. Okay, that would be right in his wheelhouse. So that's good that you guys talked about that. So that what you're doing there is an example of understanding that, trying to discern and understand the signs of the times in which we live. That's what you're doing there. And doesn't mean you're right. It doesn't mean you have to have the right answer. We're not sovereign. God is. So our job is not to come up with the right answers all the time. Our job is to ask the right questions. So this is an example, I think, of asking the right question may or may not be right, but I think it's a discerning question to ask, meaning that you are someone that is trying to understand that, understand the signs of the times in which you live. And that is discernment. You bet.
A
Next we'll go to Joshua Souders who says, do you think those of us in Virginia who voted no in redistricting actually have any chance that the Virginia Supreme Court overTurns Its legitimacy? P.S. something people keep not talking about is that the restore fairness language is referring to balancing against other MAGA red states, not in Virginia. They are well aware of their power grab.
C
So let me do this. What is the makeup of the Virginia State Supreme Court?
B
There was some breaking. Did you see that Florida redraw map?
C
Yeah. They're gonna try to basically it's almost entire countermand it. You saw that? Yeah, yeah, I did see that. All right, so Virginia has seven justices on the state Supreme Court. Cleo Powell is the first black woman to serve as Chief justice. And they're termed in Virginia. Okay, they're officially nonpartisan, right? Yeah.
B
Okay, so are school boards.
C
Yeah, exactly. I'm going to say no because I have a hard time believing they're not like us. And our side is a, is a goulash of belief systems, of non communist belief systems. That's what our institutionalism, radicalism, libertarianism, conservatism, you know, varying degrees of Red Caesarism. Franco wasn't bad. The bad guy ism, Joe McCarthy was rightism. I mean, that part's true, but I mean that. Is that fair? I mean, our side's a makeup of all these various isms.
B
Right.
C
Okay. And so when you're a Donald Trump and you're attempting to, to alter a generational political paradigm, but getting rid of birthright citizenship because of that, you are, you've got to win over a critical mass of justices on your own side before you even think about picking off anybody else. Right. They're not in that position. They are a. They are ideologically anyway, a fairly unified front. Godless leftist Marxism. And so therefore they all agree that the mission is whatever grants us more power and control is what we're going to do. I have A hard time believing that they won this election by lying about being moderates. Then turned right around five minutes later and said, all right, hey, new ballot initiative. We're going to make ourselves the permanent majority of Virginia here. Okay? And then just went out and gaslit. People did for on that for months. Then just to turn around and say, all right, guys, let's see what four justices on our state supreme court thinks about this. I don't believe that they don't think
B
they can go too far because they live in Hitler's backyard, according to them.
C
Correct. Right. I mean, they're on a.
B
How can.
C
They're on a mission from bail.
B
Yeah. They go too far.
C
Yeah. So I just. I just don't believe that. I just. I'd like to. I would. I would like to, but I. But I don't. One thing I do believe in, I got introduced to this product about a month ago. Pocket hose. The number one expandable hose in the world. Super lightweight, easy to manage, easy to store. You turn the water on and it grows. Turn the water off, it shrinks back to pocket size. Reinforced with liquid crystal polymer used in bulletproof vests. The ain't that makes the sleeve kind of an anti burst. It's practically bulletproof itself. And the liquid crystal polymer fiber in it is five times stronger. And then it comes with the. The pocket pivot as well, so you have total freedom of movement. I 360° rotation. I tried this out right after the snow melted here in the Midwest. Getting some yard work done spraying out the garage. I thought it was pretty incredible. Right. So now for a limited time, when you purchase a new pocket hose ballistic, you get a free 360 degree rotating pocket pivot and a free from dry thumb drive nozzle. So just text Dace my last name to 64, 000 for those deals. That's days to 64, 000 for your two free gifts with your purchase at pocket hose. All right, Text DACE to 64,000 for your two free gifts with your pocket hose. Purchase message and data rates may apply. Again, text days to 64,000. All right, we got about a minute here. We'll do the rest in overtime. Any final thoughts, gentlemen?
B
Well, I'm glad we won't have to do whatever gymnastics would have been required for you doing jury duty. Would that have been instantly like.
C
Yes.
B
Yes.
C
Yeah. And the trial was. They told me it could take. They told us could take up to a week. So, yeah, it was going to start today. It was going to go 9 to 4, 30 until we got a verdict.
B
I just. Of course.
C
And it's one thing, man, if I'm in there for, you know, it's a realist. Listen to the people involved. It's very important to them. Okay, but eight hours a day on real estate fraud.
B
Yeah. See, seeing your affect at the end of that thing, that would have been something else. But does Steve Dase look like after a week of jury duty on real estate fraud, Todd, you have.
C
You've seen me get up in front of thousands of people without any notes, without a script, not have a nerve or bat an eyelash. My heart. As we got to the end there, guys, my eyes. The judge was reading off who was going to get picked. My heart was beating out of its chest. That's the most nervous I've been in a minute. I mean, I had to. I had to pause and get my breathing under control when I walked out of there. That's how nervous I was.
B
Don't make me do my civic duty.
C
Exactly. All right, we're gonna stick around and do overtime. Finish those questions on the Ask me anything for Blaze TV subscribers. For the rest of you, we'll see you tomorrow. Now. I know we will. We're gonna be here.
B
Valent, you jinxed it.
C
I might have. All right, go hard. Romans 8:28.
Date: April 27, 2026
Host(s): Aaron McIntyre, Todd Erzin, (Steve Deace joins in hour 2)
Guest: Bob Vander Plaats (The Family Leader)
Network: Blaze Podcast Network
This episode centers on the aftermath and implications of the latest attempted assassination of President Trump at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The hosts discuss the left’s normalization of political violence, how this reflects deeper cultural and spiritual issues, and what it means for American society—particularly for conservatives. The show also examines the concept of "permission structures" in politics, tying it to historical and current trends in political and cultural shifts. Guest Bob Vander Plaats joins to talk about the spiritual underpinnings of current political events and the state of politics in Iowa.
This episode weaves the latest political violence—specifically an assassination attempt on President Trump—into a larger narrative about how American political and cultural life has shifted, enabling and justifying violence. The hosts analyze this trend as the result of years of deliberate cultural engineering, and warn that the fundamental problem is spiritual and moral decay, not merely political disagreement. The solution, in their view, is not just political activism but bold cultural engagement and spiritual revival.
The second hour transitions to listener Q&A, tackling questions about spiritual roots of violence, Christian theology, prophecy, and political strategy. Steve Deace’s return to the show (after nearly having to serve on jury duty) adds a hopeful note for the return of “normalcy”—if such a thing still exists in our current cultural moment.
