What's up, street team family? You're watching this episode of the Street Preachers podcast with your hosts, Tim Timberlake and Philip Anthony Mitchell. And you are tuned in to our special behind the scenes series of our very first street preachers podcast tour.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Stay locked. Listen to me, man. Listen to me. What is Duval? What?
Timothy Timberlake
Yours that you'll be talking about? Is that the county? I don't know what that is. It's the most famous county in the world.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Duval County. Absolutely. I'll let you have that right now. I ain't gonna argue that. You know what I mean? I'll let you have that right now. Absolutely. But you know what blew my mind in Jacksonville, bro? Over 2,000 people.
Tim Timberlake
Ah, man.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Yeah, it was nuts. Over 2,000 people.
Tim Timberlake
Nuts.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
And not in that mini arena that you preaching every Sunday, bro. My man Timberlake preaches in a mini arena every single Sunday. I remember walking on the platforms of my men.
Timothy Timberlake
You got to do this every Sunday.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
I mean, we walk out, there's like
Timothy Timberlake
2300 people in that room, and they stacked all the boxes. I feel like we in the coliseum at Ephesus. And.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
And my. My book agent was there that night. Yes. You know, my shout out to Javon Bolden at Embolden Media, who landed me my first book deal. And that night was powerful, man. I remember being in the hallway, right? And I don't know what area. That tunnel. The tunnel.
Timothy Timberlake
That's what I call it.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
And I remember worship being so powerful. I was just on my knees, just weeping in that tunnel. I had my face to the wall. I remember getting out on my knees. I remember praying for you, praying for Jen. I remember praying for your staff, praying for Celebration Church. I pray for the whole Celebration family. And because the power of God was in that arena in that room. I mean, essentially, it's like a small arena. The power of God was in that room of Celebration Church. And I could just feel the energy of. I could just feel the power of God in that room. And I had such a joy that night. There was a joy that night, right? And I remember we walked out on a platform that night. I said, now it's my turn. And I did an alter call.
Tim Timberlake
It's my turn. It was right.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Remember I did an altar call before we even got got started.
Tim Timberlake
It was no room for. For us to walk anywhere from. From the.
Podcast Host/Announcer
The altar to the back of the door.
Tim Timberlake
Just bodies all over the place.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
And I remember during that altar call at Celebration Church, the amount of tears I seen when people was putting their head on the platform. I seen people hugging each other on the floor, Brothers and sisters hugging each other on the floor. White brothers hugging black brothers and black brothers hugging white brothers and, you know, Hispanics and Asians. And it was this beautiful mixture on the floor and people on their knees weeping. It was like. It was like the glory just fell. And the Holy Spirit was doing a supernatural work on the hearts of the people. And. And. And I. And I just think about that, man, because, like, behind the scenes, I remember there was moments both at your. Your parents. Your parents ministry, and some of these things. I would just be in a back hall. I put my face to the wall and weakness. I was wary. I remember putting my head on the. Put my forehead towards. Just weak and wary. I remember our team praying for me in the back, and, man, I was tired, man. But we would walk out there, man, and like God, we just feel the spirit of God. And like, God, this is. This is beyond belief. There's over 2,000 people in here. There's people in the lobby. This is revival. You remember that? I mean, now we at your. We at your spot. I mean, how did that feel for you, being at your spot?
Tim Timberlake
Well, I just. A very selfish response.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Be selfish, bro.
Tim Timberlake
I was so happy to have my brother in Jackson.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Come on, man.
Tim Timberlake
You know what I'm saying? So for me.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Yeah, man.
Tim Timberlake
And you.
You remember this. Every. Every city, I marvel at the gift of God in you.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
And
Tim Timberlake
both of us are sensitive enough to the spirit of God to know what the room needs.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Yeah, yo, that part right there.
Timothy Timberlake
Timothy Timberlake, let me call you by your government.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
That part blew my mind. The fact that we did not script one episode. Yeah, but the Holy Spirit would know what to do through each of us in every room. And how we. It was like a symbiotic flow we had in each room, knowing when to push, when to dig, when to pull back, when to sig, when to land the plane, went to prophesy, when to do the altar call. I would hang back. You will lead the room.
Tim Timberlake
I would hang back.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
I would lead the room. And it was just so symbiotic.
Timothy Timberlake
It was.
Tim Timberlake
And.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
And you know what? When I look back on it, the fact that we had no script, you know who gets the glory for all of that?
Tim Timberlake
God.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
God, man. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, he was leading us and guiding us through every single place, man. Even in Jacksonville, we in your house, and you let me do an altar call.
Tim Timberlake
I'm watching. And so one. One of me and Phil's ongoing jokes Right now is me. Watching him is like poetry, emotion. You know, there is a noticeable, undeniable grace on his life to do things in the kingdom and in the culture that are not being done right now. And so when. When we are out on the road and I'm watching, I am marveling at the grace, marveling at the gift of God. And Phil. And I would tell Phil, go, go, dig, dig, dig. And to see him go and dig and to have that gift in Jacksonville and to see how the seeds of faithfulness and righteousness are being sewn not just around the world, but in the place that I get a chance to steward. That was the greatest blessing, man.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
I appreciate that, man. You're too kind, bro.
Tim Timberlake
So thank you.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
And you know what? I. I want to say this too, man. You are probably one of the most humble men I've ever known and one of the most supportive and one of the most godly, you know, that you. You. You push, you celebrate others, you know, and I think that's why God trusts you with so much. I think a lot of people don't realize the level of influence that God has given my brother Tim. You know, obviously, he leads a very fruitful ministry in Florida and Jacksonville, has two national television programs, has relationships with some of the most influential people in America and industries y' all would never even imagine, from business ministry to entertainment to sports athletes. Tim. Tim is. I mean, just. When I think about all the people he mentors and pours into all around the country, you will never even know. Don't even post about it. And. And the fact that you do that with such grace, you know, and you encourage each other people. Such grace and such a barnabas. I think that level of humility that you have is why God trusts you with so much, why he trusts you with the kind of relationships you have, the platform you have, the national television programs you have, the influence you have. He trusts you with all of that because your heart is so humble, right? And it. It has not ruined your head, right? And I admire that about you. I admire that, especially all the years you've been a public figure, you know, and being on TV and all the things. You know how I. It's crazy. I'll call Tim.
Timothy Timberlake
He's like, bro, Tim, what's going on? Like, yeah, man, I'm here with so
Tim Timberlake
and so
Philip Anthony Mitchell
at your house.
Timothy Timberlake
Like, yeah, so and so and I. We just hanging out the house. Like the quarterback from that team.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Like, yeah, we here with so and so.
Timothy Timberlake
You hear what you hear with so and so. Like the person that owns that company. Like, yeah, we just here with so and so. It's like my man Tim be like,
Philip Anthony Mitchell
yeah, I'm just hanging out with the Truitt family.
Timothy Timberlake
I'm just here with the Green family. Like the people that own hobby Lobby.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Okay.
Timothy Timberlake
Yeah, you know, you know, I'm, I'm. I'm just here with this. The quarterback from the Texans. Like, yeah, we're just here doing Bible study. I'm like, okay, like, like this man right here. When I, When I, I, I love it.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
I love it because, you know, I, I love it. I, I love that. I love you. Don't promote it. I love you. Don't put it on social media. And when I just think about the network of relationships that you have across the country, God has trust you that. Cuz you're so humble. Right. And so I just, I thank you for celebrating me and for, you know, for being a barnabas in my life, man. And, and you. You just steward it all so well, you know, and even allowing me to dig at your. At your spot. Right? Even. Even the fact that you step back and let me dig at your spot, I thought that was pretty dope, you know, I thought that was pretty cool, cuz. Well, when we was at your parents
Timothy Timberlake
spot, I backed up like, nah, my man on home turf right here. Like, n. Tim. Like, go ahead, Tim.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Do you this.
Timothy Timberlake
You grew up in this house right
Tim Timberlake
Here you go and do you even then, though.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
But Jacksonville was powerful.
Tim Timberlake
You know, it's. It's an insecure person that can't honor the gift of God and someone else. Yeah. Scottie Pippen knew he was playing with Michael Jordan. Yeah, he did, right?
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Yeah.
Tim Timberlake
He didn't think I'm Mike. He knew. No, no, I'm Scott. He's secure in that. I'm secure in who I am. You're secure in who you are. I think that's what makes us work.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Yep.
Tim Timberlake
Because we both identify the grace that both of us steward 1,000%, the gifts that we.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
We carry. Well, 1,000%.
Tim Timberlake
And one of the things, I don't know if you remember this even after Dallas, and you was like, man, I don't know if I got it in me to finish the tour. I said, well, Phil, just pray about it and keep this in mind. If we don't finish this, these are not events we're going to do for a short time. This is a call that I believe God has given us for the rest of our lives.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
I remember that.
Tim Timberlake
And you know, to, to be able to run alongside of an integral godly character, wise beyond your years. Great man is an honorable, lifetime man.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
I appreciate you, brother. Man. My man. I appreciate that, man. You know, and so I also think. I think something very important you said when you talked about being secure and who God has called us to be, I think I want to encourage a lot of believers who are not secure. And because of that, there's a lot of jealousy and a lot of envy, a lot of comparison and also a lot of slander.
Tim Timberlake
Yeah.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Because of that, my friend Preston Perry. Shout out to. My friend Preston Perry. Shout out to Jackie Hill Perry. I love them. They're family to me. I. Preston and I, we was in South Africa, and we was. We was on a flight between Johannesburg and Cape Town, and Preston leaned over the aisle at me, was on the aisle seats, and he leaned over, he said, bro, you know what he said? If the devil could find a jealous heart, he can make a slanderous mouth.
Tim Timberlake
Come on.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
All right. Such a powerful statement. He said, if the devil could find a jealous heart, he could make a slanderous mouth.
Tim Timberlake
Right?
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Because we was talking about, like, how we deal with a lot of slander and things like that. And he was saying, you know, like, bro, I just think a lot of people just mad at you for the wrong reasons. Bro, you said. And I just think. So we was talking about this, and, you know, there. And. And. And it goes back to what you're saying. You know, I. You know, we. I want to pray. Just healing over the body, you know, that God would just heal his children in their hearts, that we would. We would get to a place where we're not always slandering each other all the time, where we're not being driven by jealousy and envy and. And strife all the time. You know, as a father with children, I have five teenagers, you know, and, you know, when you. When you hear your kids sometimes tussle with each other, how it breaks your heart when you hit them tussle. And it's like, come on, we got the same father, the same. Like, we're all in the same home. And so it just breaks my heart sometimes to just see the vitriol and the fights across social media with God's children, and the unbelievers are watching that. And I think there is a time for righteous critique. There is a time, right? Let's not act like there's no space for that. I think there's a place for righteous critique, and there's a place for calling out false prophets. Like what Paul did what John did.
Tim Timberlake
Right.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
So I'm not talking about that. Right. I'm not talking about calling out false prophets. I'm not talking about righteous critique. I'm talking about when brothers are slandering brothers and sisters, slander because of misunderstandings. We don't practice Matthew 18. We don't have talks in private. And a lot of us just need healing, you know, and so I. I just pray healing for the body of Christ. That would be more focus on the Great Commission and slandering each other because time is running out and a lot of the things we're doing is futile and it's an exercise in futility. Yeah, right. And so anyway, so I just appreciate you doing that and talking about security and, And. And celebration. Our time at Celebration Church was powerful. It was special. It was our largest audience on tour. Over 2,000 people. Our largest audience on tour. I was shocked to see that many people in the room for a podcast recording. And. And it was. It was just a very, very special night, you know, And I mean, we at your house. How'd that feel for you?
Tim Timberlake
It was. I was greatly encouraged, man, you know, again, to have. And you know, this. But some of our audience doesn't. Anointings are not just given. There's an impartation that takes place. And so, you know, mantles don't leave the earth, they fall. And that night, I really felt like we received a fresh mantle and impartation of the spirit of God. And our church has benefited from the deposit we made that night. And just to see how far people came, how people were blessed, people that don't belong to Celebration Church, I would say the room was probably 60% people that don't go to Celebration Church or 40% people that do. And Jesus. It's a constant reminder to me of how diverse our street team is. Like, I'm meeting people in Wisconsin. I'm meeting people in Idaho. I'm in Appleton, Wisconsin. I'm in Appleton, Wisconsin, and met somebody
Philip Anthony Mitchell
from the street team.
Tim Timberlake
And I'm on the plane leaving Appleton, Wisconsin, and the flight attendant taps me on the shoulder and says, I watched. I watched the street preachers podcast. I'm a part of the street team. I said, where are you from? I'm from Wisconsin. I'm on my way to Atlanta in Wisconsin.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
We got street team in Wisconsin.
Tim Timberlake
All over the world. I. I am humbled by how far. Wow, God has taken this thing.
Philip Anthony Mitchell
And so shout out to the whole street team.
Tim Timberlake
Whole street team, you know. Right. Matter of fact, put in the comments where you watching?
Philip Anthony Mitchell
Yeah. If you're watching right now, man, just drop in the chat. What city you from? Shout out to the whole street team, man. Shout out to the whole street team, man. So just blown away at Charlotte. I'm at. At Jacksonville. You know, it's. I love that you said you felt like a mantle was picked up that night. I don't think I told you this, but when, when we were standing on that platform tonight, I'm looking out at, at. At the brothers and sisters in the room that night. I felt like something shifted that night, at least from. Yeah, something shifted that night. I'm looking out and I'm saying, yeah, yeah, God, you are. You are gathering your end time harvest and you're just allowing Tim and I to be a part of it. You know, like that night to me was. It was like, yeah, this is the end time harvest being. They're coming in. Yeah, through proclamation, through podcast, through. He's just gathering his people. He's preparing his bride. That night. I felt like, yeah, God, you're preparing your bride, you know. And then we went on to our last spot. Miami, Miami.
