What's up, street team family? You're watching this episode of the Street Preachers podcast with your hosts, Tim Timberlake and Philip Anthony Mitchell. And you are tuned in to our special behind the scenes series of our very first Street Preachers podcast tour. Stay locked. Shout out to our brother, pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. And everybody at VU Church for opening up their house to us. And I remember arriving in Miami with a great amount of joy. Like, Lord, we. We made it to the end through a trial.
B
Yeah.
A
Through tribulations, through hardships, through persecutions, through difficulties on tour, through moving a big team from city to city. Logistics, hotels, flights, tour buses, Sabrina's. I mean, just so much logistics, so much work, so much travel, so much. You know, Donora have put in a lot of work. We all have put in a lot of work. Jk. Like, shout out to the assistant. Shout out, jk. Shout out, rj.
B
Because it's not. It's not common when we say there was turmoil and there was tribulation. There's no turmoil between me and Phil.
A
Yeah, not that.
B
No turmoil or tribulation between our teens.
A
No, not that.
B
Like, to travel with that many people and they're not be mess that happens is a miracle within itself.
A
Yeah. I think it's good that you clarify that When. When we talk about turmoil and trouble, we're talking about from the external culture, just persecutions and trials and feeling resistance from the enemy. But I will say our travel team was a dynamic team. Like, we in this. We in the studio right now without what I was without with our recording, our recording team that been recording with us the very beginning. Shout out to our whole recording team. You know, jk, rj, or everybody that traveled, the whole worship team, like, that team was united. Absolutely. Oh, shout out to our security, Jared. He.
B
He's d', Angelo.
A
D'. Angelo. The whole security team, CIA, whaling, all that, man. Like, our whole entire team. From recording team to worship team to security team, logistics team to Donora. Like, we was like a family on the road. Right? We was a family from city to city, hotel to hotel, tour bus, all the things. It was like one big family. We prayed, we cried, we wept, we had moments. We ate good food after every spot. Like, we made memories. We saw testimonies of life change. We got gold stars for finishing. Right, right. And made it to Miami. When I got to Miami, I remember feeling this. This burst of joy, this burst of. Of the best way for me to describe it, this burst of, lord, we've done what you told us to Do.
B
Yeah.
A
And I remember being in the green room that night at Vu and saying to our team that night, I said, guys, one more battle.
B
That's it. Remember that night?
A
Absolutely. I said, we're not done yet.
B
That's right.
A
I know we feel the joy because we've come to the last spot. I know what y' all feeling, but no, I was saying to the worship team, one more battle to fight. And we didn't have worship sets. We were just freestyling. Worship.
B
Absolutely.
A
I said, for just one more. One more stage to grace, one more battle to fight, one more territory to take. One more. I remember feeling this deep joy, and I remember the team went out and you and I was in the back, and all we do, we know we walk and we praying, we kneel and we cry. But I felt this deep joy, like God, your grace got us here and through all that we had to go through, and this was. This was beautiful, and it was powerful. And, I mean, that's how I felt.
B
Yeah.
A
How did you feel?
B
I felt like. Like the father was pleased.
A
The father was pleased. Yeah.
B
And because I knew he was pleased, I was overwhelmed. You know, we look out into that room in Miami, and you see it
A
was live in Miami.
B
Oh, man. Just a diverse and eclectic.
A
It was live in audience. Yeah.
B
People that have influence and affluence and people that spent their very last to be in that room and got blessed.
A
There was some wealthy people in that room. It was some people struggling in that room. It was all the things in that room. Yeah.
B
And I remember we got finished that
A
night,
B
and we went out to the lobby, and the first lady that met us out there, she was in a wheelchair.
A
Yeah. I remember her.
B
And she said, can I. Can I take a picture with y'?
A
All? And I was like, absolutely. And she came out that wheelchair. Take a picture with you. And she came out that wheelchair.
B
Came out of that wheelchair, bro.
A
It broke. I remember that, man. She came out that wheelchair.
B
What in the world. World are you doing?
A
Yeah, bro.
B
And so I'm, you know, I'm. I'm humbled, Phil, that we get an opportunity to steward this. I think that as we continue to dig and unpack scripture to the street team, society and culture will continue to see an uprising.
A
Yeah.
B
Of hate.
A
Yep. And. And that's to be expected.
B
Yeah.
A
In.
B
In what we. What we see happening in the kingdom of God. And it's a reminder for us of why these moments are necessary and important.
A
Yeah. And as Tim and I land the plane on what we will call These BTS episodes that you've been watching. As we just been unpacking our journey on tour and just being honest about some of the things we go through, we want to take a second to encourage all of you who are in the middle of a journey of faith and that you may not see the end of how it's going to work out. Yours is to just trust God and step out on faith. As. As Tim and I are just reflecting in these BTS episodes about our tour, one of the most rewarding moments for me was when he and I was about to walk off the platform in Miami and we gave each other a hug, and it was a long embrace. And he whispered in my ear, we did it. Yeah. And I whispered back in his ear, tim, we did it. By God's grace, we made it to the end. And I knew what it cost me to go out on tour in terms of my family. I travel. I knew what it cost him. You know, we both preaching multiple times on Sunday. We're traveling, we're leaving. Family came at a high cost physically. It came at a high cost spiritually. It came at a high cost emotionally. It came at a high cost financially. Yeah. And I just want to encourage. I want to encourage somebody watching right now to not going to take this moment to encourage you. You don't have to see the whole staircase. Yeah. And you don't got to see the outcome. Yours is to just keep walking by faith and not by sight, whatever that is. Okay. And if it's not something that you can put a name on, maybe it's not a podcast, maybe it's not a ministry. Right. Maybe it's not a book. Maybe it's not something sensational. It doesn't have to be sensational. It could just be daily obedience to Christ, just walking by faith and daily obedience to Christ. And as you walk by faith and daily obedience to Christ, trusting him to color in the lines and to figure out all the outcomes. Ours is not to control all of the outcomes. Ours is to just be faithful. That's what the Christian life is. It is daily faithfulness to Christ, obeying the Holy Spirit, even in the most mundane things. It could be the smallest things that the Holy Spirit is leading you to do. The slightest adjustments or tweaks. Just spend a little bit more time with me. Spend a little bit more time with that child. Be a little bit more kind to your spouse. Just be the smallest things. Clean up your house a little bit more. Whatever it is. I just want to encourage you to just be faithful and even the smallest things that God is calling you to do, even when we don't understand, trust him when you cannot trace him. And, and and I pray that these BTS episodes that you've been watching with my brother Tim and I us just sharing transparently about our major step of faith last year to step out to do a tour when we had no real podcast experience, no podcast longevity, we just stepped down on faith to obey God. And what we experienced was the fruit of that obedience. And we pray that you would do the same. From the smallest of things to the greatest of things. Just trust God in faith that you will see the fruit of that obedience. And Tim, before we pray, we want to shout out some of our sponsors from our first season.
B
Absolutely. Shout out Overflow.
