Water here runs slightly warmer at 61 to 66 degrees. The low rip current risk holds through both days, so it's a safe window to get in the water.

Santa Barbara County beaches to the north will see slightly smaller surf, one to two feet, but the vibe remains calm and manageable. Water temperatures top out at 66 degrees, making for comfortable conditions. Sunday brings west swell energy while Monday calms down with no significant swell direction noted in the remarks.

Now, if you're willing to venture further north to the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Central Coast, conditions get noticeably different. Here the surf jumps to three to six feet on Sunday with that mixed northwest and south swell interaction. This is where you'll find the best waves for the weekend. Fair warning though, the water temperature is significantly colder, ranging from 52 to 54 degrees, so bring your thick wetsuit. Monday sees the surf back off slightly to three to five feet but maintains that fun, workable size. The swell shifts to mixed west and south swell, keeping conditions interesting.

No thunderstorms are expected anywhere along the coast over the next two days, so you won't have to worry about lightning strikes or sudden weather changes. It's looking like a pleasant weekend to get out on the water, whether you're seeking mellow beach vibes or punchier waves up north.
