Using fabric as a background for your studio portraits has many advantages but fabric can be expensive, especially when you need a wide width. Photographer Gavin Hoey ran into the same problem when he first started shooting and his solution was simple. Bedsheets as backgrounds.

Bed sheets come in many sizes and an almost endless variety of colors and patterns. In this video Gavin tests out three black duvet covers, one plain, one with stripes and finally one with a damask pattern in his small home studio.
