1w ago00:23:35Tap to summarizeDr. Janeen Blythe is a board-certified geriatric specialist physical therapist who has been practicing and teaching for the past 8 years. She graduated from the University of Florida Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in May of 2018. Since graduation, she has been practicing in a variety of settings (short term rehab, long term care, and outpatient) with older adult patients. Dr. Blythe has worked with a variety of populations including patients with oncological diagnoses, orthopedic injuries of the lower extremities and back (both acute and overuse), and neurological diagnoses. She specializes in incorporating function as early as possible, often having patients interests such as gardening, ballroom dancing, and golfing incorporated into the exercise choices to create relevance and meaning. Dr. Blythe has also been teaching with the University of Florida DPT program since her graduation for a variety of courses related to therapeutic exercise and health and promotion wellness. But being a survivor is not all that she is . She is married, with no kids, but she do have four elderly pugs. They live in Jacksonville, Florida and like to spend most of their time time cuddled up on the couch with the dogs, watching movies or TV or reading. She has a PhD in microbiology and immunology ad currently work as a postdoctoral associate at the University of Florida where She studies bacterial pathogens. Having a bit of knowledge on biomedical sciences has really helped her to understand and cope with her diagnosis and treatment.
