From Miami, Florida, 22 years old graduate UF with a bachelors degree of science in applied philosophy and kinesiology (APK) and a minor in business administration. Debra Brunson, is a 37-year-old breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed almost a year ago and she can see the light at the end of this year (+) worth of treatments. But being a survivor is not all that she is . She is married, with no kids, but she do have four elderly pugs. They live in Jacksonville, Florida and like to spend most of their time time cuddled up on the couch with the dogs, watching movies or TV or reading. She has a PhD in microbiology and immunology ad currently work as a postdoctoral associate at the University of Florida where She studies bacterial pathogens. Having a bit of knowledge on biomedical sciences has really helped her to understand and cope with her diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Michelle Ruiz earned her PhD in Clinical Health Psychology from East Carolina University and completed a pre‑doctoral internship at UF Health Science Center specialized in health psychology. Currently, she is a postdoctoral psychology fellow at the University of Florida, specializing in solid‑organ transplant and psycho‑oncology services. Her clinical work centers on coping and adjustment among medically complex patients. This primarily includes delivering psychological interventions in outpatient and inpatient settings, while working within an interdisciplinary care team to meet the psychosocial needs of patients. Dr. Cerbón grew up in Mexico City, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Universidad Anáhuac México Norte, graduating top of her class.
