on the 500 talking the 500 until the end. It's Pressure Drop. It's from the Harder They Come, an original original soundtrack from 1972. It's also number 122 out of 500 on the 500. What's up party peeps? It's me, the Fleece General Commander in Fleece, Josh Adam Myers, and I'm leading you through Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums all the way down to Word people. Oh, I wonder where the music's at right now because we don't. They add the music later because I could be like, I could have rhymed over our bed music. But no point. Let's make this quick because I have to just pop back home to record this before I go get dinner. How is everybody? I am doing good. I am doing. I'm freezing, I'm doing. I'm freezing my balls off. I think every guy in New York City right now. It's so cold that we are all growers. Not one person in this town is a shower. It is. I would dare any man to pull his penis out in front of a woman without three hours of being in a warm home. Any girls out there? I want to try that with glory girl that I was dating. Not no more. So, yeah, keep it warm. I'm going to Florida this weekend. I'm doing Dania Improv four shows in Fort Lauderdale, and then I will be in LA February 16th doing the God, no, not the goddamn time jam. Doing the. The shimmy Shimmy ya. Burr Santino, Bobby Lee. Also, guys, I'm doing the jelly roll belt beautifully broken comedy show at the Greek theater in May in Los Angeles for Netflix as a joke. I think we're doing a jam as well. And the end of this month, February 22nd, until the 26th, 27th, I'll be on the this is important podcast cruise with Adam Devine, Blake and Ders and a whole bunch of other great comics. A lot of stuff sold out. My agent is dragging his fucking feet about booking the rest of me out. Sometimes they don't even respond back to you, which is a horrible feeling. But I'll be out there, guys. You know, we're building. We're trying our best. So what do you do to that kind of situation? You know what? You dive into the podcast and you make sure it rules. So support the podcast. That's what you can do to help everybody. YouTube. We got the YouTube. We got my YouTube. YouTube. If you don't subscribe to me, I'm at, like, I haven't spent a lot of time. Patreon.com backslash the 500 podcast. All right. Reggae music. That's what we're doing today, boys and girls. Or girl. I don't know how many female listeners. I think we got a few. Oh, Claire. I know you're out there, baby. My Claire from. From Milwaukee. I love you. I love you. She's so cute. She stopped me on the street when I was walking left. She's like, I'm coming to your show tonight. I was like, I Love you. And. And I follow her. She got the funniest Instagram profile pic. Forget what it is, but it's like, oh, it's like Nosferatu, but with her face or something. It's so adorable. But yeah. So what are we talking about? Reggae. Perfect music to listen to during the winter. How odd that it teamed up like that. And this is probably the introduction to what I would say is America's, like, awakening understanding of what reggae is. This is. This is how you kick in the door. You give them. You give them a soundtrack that makes poverty sound joyful. Might be the greatest catfish in music. That's why reggae is so funny. Is like. It's literally like just like the most, like, chick. Every day is so beautiful. That's how you think it is. But the lyrics are like, my mother died of cancer and my father raped my sister. It's like, Jesus, but it sounds so nice. You know, I think there is a. There is a. There is proof that you can sound happy, you can look cool, you can dance hard, and you can still be furious of how the world works. And that's why this movie and this record is important. And RIP Jimmy Cliff, obviously, but also pir to our guest today. I don't know if that makes sense. The one and only Jackie. Fabulous. One of my oldest friends in comedy. She has a brand new Special coming out February 4th. That's today. Is it today? Yeah. Yeah, it is today on Hulu. You can leave. She's amazing. I love Jackie. Jackie Fabulous
was Josh. All I see is Daddy.
Josh Adam Myers
I look good, don't I? Dude, I'm. I'm aging. I'm aging well. Dude, I am aging well. You Know why? Clean living, baby. And 45 billion peptides every day. I'm the peptide warrior, babe.
Jackie Fabulous
Nice to know you're still very much LA kind of guy.
Josh Adam Myers
Dude, I wish I was there right now. I want to be out this. If I hear my radiator yell at me again, I'm about to punch it in the dick if it had one.
Jackie Fabulous
I'm like, all these years that I complained and I'm like, LA gets kind of boring. I miss. I miss season. And then I'm like, what the happened? Why am I here? I never had this.
Josh Adam Myers
Well, this is odd. This is like beyond odd. So look, you know, we'll talk about it. 1. Good to see you, babe. It's been a minute. I love you. I miss. I'm so excited that you were doing this. Sorry about being late, but, you know, this will all add in to what we're talking about. It also works into the whole theme of the movie and everything we're gonna get to in just a second.
Jackie Fabulous
Okay.
Josh Adam Myers
The moral of it is, is like, what we're dealing with right now is not normal. Because in the five years that I've lived in New York City, we've had at the most six inches. I think the first year in like 20, the like the beginning of 22, we had like six or seven. And it melted two or three days later because of the. Of the weather goes back above freezing. This is crazy. And I was.
Jackie Fabulous
This. This is how I grew up. Born and raised here. I remember some Thanksgivings, hanging out with my friends, and I'm like, why don't we have on all of our winter gear right now? Usually Thanksgiving, it's like, it gets. Starts to get serious around Halloween. Remember Halloween? You'd be freezing, trying to hang out. Halloween night, come on.
Josh Adam Myers
I remember, I. Dude, a few years ago, I was renting a car and I was driving down for Halloween and it was in like, it was in the single digits. This was. I think. I think it was the Christmas at 22. It's always either 21 or 22 is either. But that's what I'm saying is that as now we don't have what you would call a normal childhood winter, which is. Which is what we experienced growing up, which is like, all right, so from December, realistically January until mid March. And so I don't know if you remember if you know, but I remember back when I was like in high school, we had so much snow in the second half of the year from January to March, that they had to extend our school Day by like three hours to make up. We. We missed so much school. But that was. The normals were winter. I mean, winters were normal.
Jackie Fabulous
Normal. They would give. They would give whoever the powers that be would give us a white Christmas, a little bit of snow days. Then we would get cocky. And then right about February, when you're like, we are out. There would be this downpour to make everybody.
Josh Adam Myers
I think I'm out, everybody bringing me back in. And they would. But that's the thing. That's the thing is that we were used to it. And then what starts happening. And I'll never forget when I. When I was getting ready to move here, a comedian that was living. Had lived here on and off. Yeah, I need to buy winter coat and stuff. He goes, dude, I was like thinking about buying like a. Like a North Face with the wool, like Eskimo style. He was like, bro, you just need like a. A semi thick, like, singular. Canada Goose is a good brand. Nothing too big because, you know you're going to wear it on the train. You're gonna do this. And dude, for. For the first three, three and a half, four years, he was right. Occasionally, and this is what I was going to say is why we're a freakish now is we get what just happened, which isn't a gradual glaze throughout the. Throughout the winter. We're like in the 20s. Okay, okay. We're in the 30s and the 20s. In the 30s and the 20s. I'll go up to the 40s. Now we're back to the 30s. Now we're like, we're in the teens. We're in the singulars. Singular. Singular. And that's three weeks of singular with a touch of the 30s and then right back down below. And then you get dumped on. So we're not prepared for it. And dude, and I'm telling you right now, I voted for Mandani. And I think that he's going to be great. But dude, I'm cursing his name because I almost. I almost was able to try to. I almost had to bump this because I went to go run an errand. I left at 1:00'.
Jackie Fabulous
Clock.
Josh Adam Myers
I live in Gramercy, 22nd and 1st. I had to go to Soho. I have a rental car. Speaking of which, I'll say this. Yesterday I couldn't get my car out of the parking spot. I had to. I had to beg these construction workers to use their bobcat. I missed my dog's cardiologist appointment because it took me two and a half hours. I was like literally offering, by the way, you want to keep Mexicans out of our country? Well, they're the ones shoveling the goddamn snow, motherfuckers. Ain't no white people doing it. We white people are letting their goddamn Audis have fucking. There's, there's, there's three Audis on my street that are never getting out of here until May.
Jackie Fabulous
When I, when I was like, josh has a podcast. This is what I imagined it was going to be.
Josh Adam Myers
We'll talk music, I promise you. Well, I just did, baby. I sat in traffic, Jackie. I sat in traffic on Houston for 35 minutes going one square block because, because the government chose. And dude, I'm all for it. I'm all, I'm a socialist. I don't give a fuck. Like, I'm, you know, I'm republican about my money. But socialism, I believe in all that shit and I believe everybody should have a fair share and baba, baba, ba
Jackie Fabulous
ba, ba, ba ba.
Josh Adam Myers
But I'll say this, the idea that they're clearing snow and blocking Houston during fucking rush hour on a Tuesday from 1 to 3pm to clear snow, when you're not doing that at night is in my opinion, the stupidest decision.
Jackie Fabulous
I want to know, where are the crackheads at? I missed the crackheads the one because they'd be the one to clear up your houses commercially or residential. And I'm like, where. Where are the kids who are looking for money? And they're, they're like, I'm not going outside. I remember I moved back to New York in 2019. I remember it was 2019 pre Covid, where it was, as they say, brick outside. And I purchased an expensive ass, full length Canada goose coat. And it was. So I did the job. I couldn't wear it. Like, it was too. I'm like, I gotta go to Alaska. Even this cold wasn't enough. That cold sat in my closet up until about two weeks ago. That's how you know it has not been cold enough to need these coats.
Josh Adam Myers
I am, I am. Yeah, I'm a coat daddy, baby. I'm. I'm a new one for every season. Plus, I was depressed for a little bit, so I was doing a little bit of retail therapy. I literally just left it. I just returned to coat to go get a new one.
Jackie Fabulous
I just bought, I just bought a Columbia coat because Canada, Canada goose, sometimes they kind of high when you, when you want them to splurge.
Josh Adam Myers
Klarna, Klarna. You better put that shit on. Klarna, baby, klarna. I Got nine things on Klarna.
Jackie Fabulous
I have been off Klarna since COVID When Covid hit and I was. I was getting unemployment. I was still working online. Yeah. And I was. I was on Klarna. I was on whatever it all.
Josh Adam Myers
All the Arna's Affirm PayPal credit.
Jackie Fabulous
Oh, baby, I was on all of them. I paid them all off because they will suck your money up. I. I don't care how much money you make.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, I know. Yeah. You think it's like, oh, I'm just paying $48 for 78 months with a 97% APR, but who gives a. I got a new vacuum from Dyson, which I do right over there, that's Klarna. I got, I got the top of the line Dyson. I got a rug from Morocco coming. I got, I got a coat, I got a bottle of cologne on Klarna. What else?
Jackie Fabulous
When. When Covid happened and I wasn't working, but still have had an income all of my Klarna and a firm. I bought Gucci with that.
Josh Adam Myers
Okay, you did.
Jackie Fabulous
You can Gucci down with some Klarna.
Josh Adam Myers
Maybe I don't like the idea. Like, I love Stone Island. I love it more than anything. The only reason I buy it is now, and I'll buy it live is because I'm friends with so many managers at the stores that they give me like such a good discount because Klarna would be way. It's like, it's stupid. Even though I'm like, oh, it makes sense. But I'll tell you this, anytime you're doing a purchase like that, if you're not buying it on a Klarna and you got. If you got the credit, fucking do it. Because, dude, $100 over 12 months or 100 or $200 or $100 over 24 months to buy that coat or something that you want that'll make you feel good. And if you're going to buy something that expensive, it better be something you can keep forever and wear. And yeah, a Burberry coat. I bought a Burberry coat in Minnesota. It was $2,400. Not bragging, you know, I'm doing okay. You know, I got an only fans.
Jackie Fabulous
I have a Gucci belt. It costs full price from the Gucci website at the time. I'm like, jackie, who do you think you are? Because I'm quite bougie without the budget. When I tell you this, when I tell you this Gucci belt has seen the world. It has been around the world, been around the world. And I. Yeah, yeah, I've been wearing Gucci. And, you know, you're going to wear
Josh Adam Myers
it, then you buy it or find a Chinese website that'll get the equivalent for just as good. Because I got a couple of those motherfuckers. I won't tell you what.
Jackie Fabulous
I walked past for the first time in a long time, the African dudes in Manhattan with the fake. And I didn't stop because I. It was too much Manhattan. I'm gonna get Rob standing. It was insane. And I'm looking down, I'm like, you know what? These don't look that bad.
Josh Adam Myers
No, they don't, dude. They don't. They don't.
Jackie Fabulous
Like, you know what? I'm like, I want a Cartier, a cardio. What's up with the watches, bro?
Josh Adam Myers
So let me. I got. I want to tell you this story, but I want to say it on air. But I. I'll send you. I'll send you a website, because it all started. It's because of this podcast, which. Which. Which, by the way, the big ups to my fans, always the fleece army. You know, I love you guys. Rich, I know you're listening because. Because I'm so bad with money. When I inherited money, I told a story once.
Jackie Fabulous
Towels.
Josh Adam Myers
No, I bought. I bought. When I was 18, I inherited 40 grand from my great UNC died. I gave half to my mom and dad to buy their house back. And then with the other 20,000, I just, like, spend it as fast as I could. But, I mean, I went to Europe for six months. Like, I did all this shit, but I went to the mall and I bought $3,000 worth of fleeces just in one. One buy. Like, I bought, like, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren.
Jackie Fabulous
Do you still have it? They were.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, God, no. No, I wish I did. They'd be back in style right now.
Jackie Fabulous
Yes. All that polo is all back in style.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah. Nautica. So that became the thing. I told that story in another pod. I just became the king of fleece. And so it just started as fleece army.
Jackie Fabulous
And.
Josh Adam Myers
And God bless my fans, man, the fans of this podcast, too, which are. Which are keeping it going and. And are now mad that they're like. They're like. We feel like we're like the poorer version of Tom and Bert. The way that they talk about. I just bought a Rolex. I put my car down. We're like, I just bought a. A$200 belt on Klarna.
Jackie Fabulous
Because we're realistic.
Josh Adam Myers
Because we. We ball on the Budget. We ball. Balling on a budget.
Jackie Fabulous
We just as fly as one month at a time.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah, dude, with a very steep apr. Better not miss that payment because I don't even know what the is gonna happen. A goddamn guy named Clara gonna come kick your ass.
Jackie Fabulous
Clara gonna come to your house.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah, that you up? Oh, Clara Jenkins. God damn. I ain't messing with that dude.
Jackie Fabulous
He's.
Josh Adam Myers
He's the Debo of the Internet.
Jackie Fabulous
I was gonna say Debo. He's like, you like, huh?
Josh Adam Myers
Well, you know, you missed a payment, Miss Fabulous. All right, let me do my intro. Let me do the. Well, first of all, no, before we do this, before we do this. Before we do this. What is going on with your career right now? If you want to promote anything, please, you're just. You're killing it. As usual, one of the funniest people I know. Zen Cold.
Jackie Fabulous
As my special called you can leave. You can say that with a little bit of black girl head knot or just you can leave on Hulu.
Josh Adam Myers
Nice.
Jackie Fabulous
And tomorrow, February 4th, there'll be another rollout where it'll be available on every other streamer. But right now, Hulu is. Is brought to us by the LOL network. Kevin Hart's network. Every LOL network slash real heartbeat. So he's the one his company is bringing it into, bringing it to fruition for the world through Hulu. You know how all this is all complicated now.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, hey, hey, dude. Hulu's becoming. It's one of the top markets now. You had Burr going over there, Mateo, all these great comedians.
Jackie Fabulous
Yeah.
Josh Adam Myers
You know, and that. So people are seeing comedy in so many different ways. And also to have the cosign from Kevin, one of the biggest comics working today, I mean, that's great. That's. Congrats. I mean, I was like. I was like, God damn. I was like, when are you going to drop a special? I was like, you're like. You're like. I just like to do it on. On the Tonight show in five minute increments over seven years.
Jackie Fabulous
For too long. I know what I do. I get DMs from fans and they're like rude. They're like, bitch, what are you going to perform for more than eight minutes at a time?
Josh Adam Myers
That's all I got. I get tired. I get tired. I don't know what you want me to tell you. We have four and a half. Oh, God damn. 30 more seconds.
Jackie Fabulous
Because whenever there's a contest or any opportunity on TV or cable for a short set, I always get the call like, hey. And I'm like, no, I'm done with the short asset. Can I perform for more than 10 minutes?
Josh Adam Myers
Can you do. Can you do Star Search? I'm surprised you. Are you going to do it? Are you. Are you in?
Jackie Fabulous
No one's hit me up. And this is not arrogance. I'm just a contest bitch. They didn't hit me up. I would not. I retired from contests.
Josh Adam Myers
And. And. And you've done great. And you've done so much. I'm not saying good or bad or this. It's just like. I was just like, oh, man. Like that. Just the people I know that are running it. I know. Love you. And you know what I mean? It's like, I haven't. I haven't watched all of them right
Jackie Fabulous
now, but I saw the post. I didn't know it was actively on.
Josh Adam Myers
It is. Jelly Roll is. Jelly Roll is one of the judges. And so I was hanging out with him and when I was. Because I was to put this full circle and. And God, it's so funny. And don't worry. I swear to God, people, the opening monologue's coming in like two seconds. I promise you, we will talk about Jimmy Cliff. I promise you. I was in LA for. For my show for a week. Then I had to go to Calgary and then the snowstorm hit and then I went back to.
Jackie Fabulous
You went to Calgary where snow was made.
Josh Adam Myers
But it. Yeah, but the choice was stay there or go or wait and wait it out for New York or come or go back to LA or go somewhere warm. And the only place I could go back was la. So I went out there for another week and then I left begrudgingly.
Jackie Fabulous
Isn't that a blessing when we're forced to go to LA when. Look here, we love it, bro.
Josh Adam Myers
I just didn't want to. I just didn't want to leave because I knew this is what was going to be like. And the second I got back, I was just like, oh, man. They're not prepared. And it's frustrating because the city is disgusting right now. The snow, it's not cute snow no more. It's disgusting. Toxic waste of. There's dog peas everywhere, which. I mean, my dog's. Dude, I was so mad the other day. I was walking my dog and she started pooping early before we got to the place where I go grab the bags. And this Asian chick turned around, she goes, you're gonna clean that up. And I was. I just took all of the snow and the cold feet and my toes and. And all the aggression that I had with that, the New York, which. I love the city. I took it out on her. I called her the C word and I screamed at her. And then she was like, oh. And I was like. I was like, was it your fault? I was walking to go get a goddamn bag, you dumb bitch. What are you doing? All right, so this is.
Jackie Fabulous
I guess it's in this weather, people are like. People are giving up, like, because there's no way to get off the sidewalk or onto it. People have walked and decided to cross the street and been like, you know what? I'm gonna turn around. Just give it up all together.
Josh Adam Myers
And then we gotta listen to reggae. We gotta listen to reggae this whole week to get ready for this podcast. Which, by the way, I think it's hilarious, because, you know, this. This is probably one of the most dangerous kinds of albums. Because it's not dangerous in, like, the medley, you know. You know.
Jackie Fabulous
What are you talking about?
Josh Adam Myers
Well, hear me out, hear me out, hear me out. It's not dangerous like. Like, in, like, metal, where there's a guy named, you know, like some razor blade who's screaming about the moon. This is dangerous. Like, this record is so casually changing world culture while also sounding like some of the happiest commute of your life. Like, this is the shit that's in. This record is so dark. And it's literally. Because that's the thing. It's like, you think when you think of Jamaica and everybody thought of Jamaica prior to this record coming out. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's like with the movie the Harder They Come, which is basically the introduction for a lot of people. You know, you thought Jamaica was just beaches, and you're like, oh, no. Because there is poverty, there's corruption. We got folk heroes that are outlaws.
Jackie Fabulous
My whole family.
Josh Adam Myers
So you're. Are you from Jamaica?
Jackie Fabulous
I was born in the Bronx, but everybody, every single other person that brought me here, born in Jamaica.
Josh Adam Myers
Bumba clad.
Jackie Fabulous
Nah. Right?
Josh Adam Myers
Rasta.
Jackie Fabulous
Jackie, what are you doing?
Josh Adam Myers
Getting on the Tonight Show. Come on. Can I borrow some money?
Jackie Fabulous
That's a Jamaican DJ on the mic.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, dude. I was a. I was a. I mced over drum and bass. So I had that. Like, we, us, the British were heavily influenced. Who did drum and bass were heavily influenced by Jamaican, like, MCs. So that was how we used to do it. It'd be like, one day, bye, bye, Combat Comra. I could do that for hours. And I'm not saying anything. I didn't. I just made guttural noises. But this, this is. Yeah, but this is, this was. And this was, you know, you know, think about it. This is like this hit UK and like I just said in 72, which are a huge influence obviously. And then North American 73 and it's like with this record it's like reggae just didn't just arrive, it basically moved in and like put its feet on the couch of the world and said, hey, we're global now. And, and I think this is really cool. I think that, I think is this. Listen, you know, I'm not saying every, every little part of, of a genre is what makes something big. And without this record and without Bob and some of the other people, like you're never gonna get. There's no reason we're talking about this if this wasn't become such a huge thing in the time. That's crazy. I had no idea that you were Jamaican. I just thought you loved reggae.
Jackie Fabulous
No, I do love reggae. I haven't, I mean nowadays, only in my car I listen to it or in my, in my ears. But I used to go to reggae clubs to hang out because I had friends from Brooklyn, they had a, they have a very high West Indian population and my, I would go to Jamaica every summer with or without my family poverty, you know, nowhere near the beach, just living like my grandmother didn't get hot and cold or any kind of running water or heat and electricity until I was, I think in my teens, very old school, you know, very in the woods. To go to the beach was a two hour drive. Now, now I'm like, if I, if I want to go back to Jamaica to vacation, I have to go to a resort, you know, where I don't do anything. And I have men who work there offering me things all the time. That's what I'm looking forward to.
Josh Adam Myers
Come, Mr. Talley, man, tally me bananas. Jackie don't want to do.
Jackie Fabulous
How old are you now?
Josh Adam Myers
46.
Jackie Fabulous
46. I want to ask you a sexual question, but you are my brother in Christ.
Josh Adam Myers
You can tell whatever you want. Ask me. Whatever.
Jackie Fabulous
Does your stamina match your, your, your natural energy?
Josh Adam Myers
Yes. Oh my God, yes. No, I am. Dude. It's too much for some women actually, like, because I'm one, I'm a sex addict, so I didn't know you had
Jackie Fabulous
that on the list also.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah, I just realized it not too long ago because I, I'm like, I'm just a drug addict of any. So I just need like a hit of something and I should probably go.
Jackie Fabulous
You need you need the hits all the time.
Josh Adam Myers
I do. And I. And I had a little. I had a little. When I went. I was in Europe for three months with the Jelly Tour and Post Malone and my own thing. And I started drinking a little bit there. I talked about this for the people, didn't know. It's. Don't worry, I'm doing good. I. But I started drinking in Europe again. It never got crazy. And I was just having sex and going. Just having a blast.
Jackie Fabulous
It all sounds fantastic.
Josh Adam Myers
It really was. It really was. And. And then I didn't. But I didn't do any drugs like coke or anything until I got back to America. I kept drinking, and I was just depressed being here, and. And so then I was like. I had a couple relapses on coke.
Jackie Fabulous
Not bad.
Josh Adam Myers
Well, bad, but not like, you know, I had nothing to do for three or four days. So I was like, why not do coke for four days?
Jackie Fabulous
You can call me and I'll be like, hey, how about you? Don't do drugs. Want to see a movie?
Josh Adam Myers
I want it. I need to do. Now I need to do. I needed to do it. It was the means to an end. I know that sounds crazy. I mean, listen, like I said, responsible. I have money. I didn't like. It wasn't like I was buying the drugs with my last bit of money, but I quit after I finally got to the place where I was like, all right, I'm gonna. I need to give myself a horrible hangover. And I did. And then it was like, oh, my God. Then it's just like the. The. The obsession with this. Like, the sex is there too. Whether it's dating apps or chicks I've hooked up with in the past or myself or whatever. It's just I. I have that stamina. And so I have. There's a couple girls like. And by the way, I need Viagra. I'm not gonna lie to you. I take Viagra. Mostly. Mostly just because.
Jackie Fabulous
Hold up.
Josh Adam Myers
What?
Jackie Fabulous
You had me thinking that you were a natural.
Josh Adam Myers
No, no, I am. I am. I am. Jackie. Let me finish. I am. The reason. The reason I take Viagra is because I've lost an erection in the past. Because sex is about being present. And if I think about it even for one second during sex, I'll lose it. So it's more a Cialis or something. So it's in the system. And I know by knowing it's there. It's not like I'm not horny. It just helps me go, oh, I can be Present with the girl and make sure she's having. Does that make sense?
Jackie Fabulous
You've never had. Yes, it does. Have you ever had a woman just give you that feeling naturally?
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, my God, yes. But, but, but sometimes I'm like in the moment. I'm like, well, I don't have time. Here we go. I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope attracted to every morsel of her body because if there's a fudgeing, this bitch got an ingrown hair somewhere and I touch it, like I might lose my shit.
Jackie Fabulous
Really? That happens a lot to women.
Josh Adam Myers
Damn it. I'll give you a story. I'll give you a quick story. And this is. So I'm in Amsterdam, damn it. Why am I telling this? This is going to be a joke on stage. I basically, I was. I'm in Amsterdam, where it's where prostitution is legal. I had, I had been there before where I had no money so I couldn't get a prostitute. And now I have money. And so, you know, I went and I enjoyed and I had this. I found this one great chick. And then like three weeks later I go back and I tried to find the girl and I find her. I'm like, hey, it's me. And she's like, who are you? I'm like, you know me. Thursday, 2pm Two weeks ago. Yeah, three, whatever. How long? So then that was that. And then we go back one more time towards the end of the trip. And now I'm on tour with everybody and we try to go. I try to go find that girl again. I can't. At the end of the night, all the guys I was with found different chicks. So I'm going back to the hotel and these two like 55 year old, like European women are in a booth together. Like, hey, you, get over here. They're just like, I'm like a little high, a little drunk. And they're like, come on, man, be like, you know, you seem fun.
Jackie Fabulous
Are you sure they were two women?
Josh Adam Myers
I swear to God. I swear to God. I mean, maybe, I mean, who knows? I'm pretty open about stuff. So I was like, all right, are you close enough? So they. But basically they're like, we're not like the other girls. I'm like, well, guess what, I can tell. And then they're like, we'll warm you up. Give for this amount. And I just know what it was. They were very attractive in the face. They were just older. And I was like, all right. And we started, I went into the room, they start warming you up. I was into it. No Viagra, no nothing. They give me the pitch. €500 each. Do whatever you want for a half hour. Yeah. And I go, all right, it. I could put it on my AMEX card. I'll get points for it. My business manager will write it off because it comes under entertainment purposes. It's all true. This is all true, dude. And then.
Jackie Fabulous
And then jerking off and easier. Jesus.
Josh Adam Myers
Well, no, dude, it's.
Jackie Fabulous
I mean, it's a three,
Josh Adam Myers
but here's where I wouldn't tell the story if it didn't go south. This is where it goes south. Bill. I told the story to Bill, and I was like. And I was like, he's like, you know, I was like, what was a room? Like? I was like, I don't know. They. They had, like, music of their generation on just like. And I want to. God, do my man handle. Just very, like, 80s. Like, he blinded me with science. And. And then they got naked. And then I just. I couldn't get hard after that. I just lost it. And I couldn't get it back for the full half hour. Like, it was the saddest thing ever. They did everything under their books, but I was so turned off the second they were like. One girl said, get out of your head. Like, what are you thinking about? And I'm like, death. You know, like, you guys have the. You guys have the body types of Iggy Pop now. Like, I, you know, it's like, I'm thinking of like. Like the Iran Contra scandal. Like, I'm just thinking of from your generation. It was. It was tough, dude. I kept. I gave him more money because I was like, well, I have to come or something. And then they were like, dude, you gotta stop. Like, you're not going to get hard.
Jackie Fabulous
So it's over.
Josh Adam Myers
It's over. But guess what? I'd rather. I'd rather have that story than have had it gone down. I think you know what I mean? Like, I. Yeah, because.
Jackie Fabulous
Because we're comedians. They were like, this is not ideal, but it'll sound good later.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah, I wish I didn't spend $2,000 on them American. But you know what brought that up? What brought up me being.
Jackie Fabulous
I. I. I asked if your energy matches your personality or if it's a bait and switch. No.
Josh Adam Myers
God, no. No, no, no. It's.
Jackie Fabulous
Then you said you were a problem. For a lot of women, I would say a problem.
Josh Adam Myers
It sounds like I'm. That's not even bragging. It's just. I just have so much Energy. This is the thing about me. I just crash really hard at the end of the day. But. But I'm also like my dog, where I go, go, go. But if, but if it's a chill day, I'm just super relaxed. I got excited about this. I also got worked up about the. I was like yelling because I. Dude, I could not. I sat in this one spot on Houston for 35 minutes and I'm just like, I'm out of the car. Like, what the. I'm like screaming at him like, what is going on, man? Like, this doesn't make. And you get it because you're a New Yorker, you don't have time for bullshit. And you're, you're willing to say something about the bullshit. We're in LA or in Iowa or in another part of the country. They would just push it down and not say anything. We are a, we are a town that, that calls out, hey, dude, you're going slow. And the person's like that.
Jackie Fabulous
It depends on where I am. I'm alone. I'm. I'm a lot more cognizant of the woman thing now than when I'm out and about than I used to be. Used to be. Didn't really. You knew, but you didn't care. Maybe you didn't care. Now I'm like, I'm alone. These are two dudes on the street with me. Let me chill.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, no, it's different for sure. I mean, I'm saying during the day in a car.
Jackie Fabulous
Oh yeah.
Josh Adam Myers
You know, and when you're around people, like, I'm not gonna. I mean, look, that Asian chick that yelled at me or said thinking about the thing, I was like, yeah, I'm saying something. Like I'm saying something to you. Like, what are you gonna do? What are you gonna do? Nothing. I'm just, I'm gonna make you look dumb. Because that's what I was going to do is go get the poop bag. I'm literally walking in the direction of the poop bags and you have to open your mouth like, just, just mind your own business and just know that I'm a functioning member of society that's not going to let an 80 pound Doberman's pile of just lay in the middle of a goddamn sidewalk.
Jackie Fabulous
You mentioned Bill earlier. Bill who? The comic? Yeah, Bill. What's his last name?
Josh Adam Myers
Berenson. Bill Bernson.
Jackie Fabulous
Bill Burns?
Josh Adam Myers
Bill Bernstein.
Jackie Fabulous
No, for real.
Josh Adam Myers
Burr. It's Burr. I told. Because it was. So. Yeah, I was at his place smoking a cigar. We're telling that story. And I. Cause we were talking about dating, you
Jackie Fabulous
know, and I was like, my only Bill Burr story. Because I'm never gonna have a chance to.
Josh Adam Myers
Good.
Jackie Fabulous
It's not. It's not that deep. Remember during the pandemic, we were all performing outside.
Josh Adam Myers
Do I. I still want to do that. I'm gonna go back to that. Put me by a creek.
Jackie Fabulous
Why would you stop doing those?
Josh Adam Myers
Put me in a swamp.
Jackie Fabulous
Really. So many comics on every level hated it. And I'm like, it didn't matter to me.
Josh Adam Myers
So maybe I think it made us. Not the caveat. I'm gonna say this, and I think the reason why is it made us better comics because everything was a part of the show. So you had to be present because that. That. That guy over there, that car driving by, the homeless guy walking up the fucking helicopter up there, like, it's all part of the show. And that's how you become. That's how you make yourself present. That made me a better comedian and makes.
Jackie Fabulous
And desensitizes you to. So you can get the jokes out.
Josh Adam Myers
Yes.
Jackie Fabulous
Magic Castle. Tammy Joe had her show there where if they all. You performing to cars. Sure. If they liked you. They had the click clacks. I told you.
Josh Adam Myers
Sounded like cicadas.
Jackie Fabulous
So. Yeah. So we were sitting in the level above where the cars are parked, and I went up. I had my set. I thought it was great with a click, loud click clacking. And when I came back to the waiting area, Bill Burr was there. And he was like. You know, he kind of had an attitude because he was probably like, what the fuck am I doing? But it was a funny attitude. And I'm like. I said, it's gonna be okay. And he goes, how was your set? And I said, it was. Honestly, it was fine. And he goes, is that good? When have you ever had anybody describe anything as fine? And you'd be like, that's good. I'm like, look, it was fine. And then he was like, whatever. We're kidding around with one another. He goes to perform, does finish his set, comes back up to me, and I said, how was it? And he was like, it was fine.
Josh Adam Myers
Depending on what night that was. Because the first time he did it, man, like, he.
Jackie Fabulous
He had a. I'm like, five in that situation is plenty. Fine means you murdered.
Josh Adam Myers
But no, here's what's funny about. About his sitch, because I. She booked that first weekend. She had booked me all three nights. Friday, Saturday, Sunday. And so Friday I did it. And then I posted about it. And then Bill hit me up on Saturday, said, hey, can you talk to Tammy and see if I can come by? And I'm like, just come, dude. She'll put you up. Of course. And so we were all hanging out before we all went up talking, like, being jovial. We hadn't seen each other, you know, it's like this is just the beginning of like, oh, my God. Fahim Anwar, I thought you were dead. You know,
Jackie Fabulous
so every time something goes down in the world, we see each other in LA again. We're like, oh, my God. We're all.
Josh Adam Myers
We're all, oh, my God, we're kids.
Jackie Fabulous
Do a head count.
Josh Adam Myers
I'm so worried I would never see you again. And the Trump would do.
Jackie Fabulous
I thought you would be gone forever. You just don't know.
Josh Adam Myers
You never know. And so we were just. We were having a good time. And then we're all talking. Then Bill goes up and he bombs. I mean, the first time he goes up, he bombs. And then really. But hear me out. And then he came back the next day and it was. But he bombed, dude. Jim Jeffries and him both. Because here's what's funny is Bill, the next night, came back and fucking didn't talk to anybody and just went up and he looked over his notes and he murdered. And I mean, murder on that night. Jim Jeffries went up shortly after, and he was talking to all of us, having fun, and he went up and did his set. And at one point, it's like six, seven minutes in, he goes, all right, I guess I'm done. That feels like 20 minutes. That was 20 minutes of material. And they're like, no, dude, you still got 14 minutes left. He goes, I just did 20 minutes of material in six minutes. It's a different beast. It was a different beast.
Jackie Fabulous
Yeah.
Josh Adam Myers

Jackie Fabulous
I love how. I love Bill's attitude. Like, we all have that attitude. Like, we're a mediocre night, and we're like, oh, no, tomorrow is not going to be mediocre.
Josh Adam Myers
He is. That's why he's the best. That's why he. He brought it, you know, Bringing it back to the Harder They Come. The original soundtrack is this.
Jackie Fabulous
Is this.
Josh Adam Myers
Should I ask this right now?
Jackie Fabulous
Have there been any porn with the same title? I feel like there has during this time. With the same title. The Harder They Come. I feel like it has to be used someplace.
Josh Adam Myers
Alex, look it up. Look it up. Look it up, Alex. The Harder they Come. I guess it's not the porn I want to watch. I want to watch. I want to watch. The easier they come.
Jackie Fabulous
You don't want to watch that kind of energy, all that exertion.
Josh Adam Myers
I don't want. Guys have to work hard for it. In porno, that's like me, you know, to close their eyes and just come on. Please. Yeah. Like, you gotta, like. It's like. It's like you're siphoning gas. You feel it come closer.
Jackie Fabulous
I was doing this. I was doing this joke in New York Comedy Club about men who don't really like blowjobs. And the woman in the front row kept punching her boyfriend, like, that's. She's talking about you. And I asked her, I said, sir, why. Why can't you come? Did you have a stressful job? And he was like, well, sales. I'm like, yeah, commission. No wonder you can't come, sir. It's a very stressful job.
Josh Adam Myers
You have almost killed my dad. Being what? My dad being a salesman. Yeah, he couldn't do it. He wasn't good at it.
Jackie Fabulous
Yeah. A lot of people don't realize that if a man is not. If things ain't going okay, stressfully, emotionally up here, that don't work. There's no. The penis is going to be there. It's not going to be interested in whatever's going on outside.
Josh Adam Myers
That's why I do Viagra. That's why I'll take a Cialis. Because it's. Dude, it's. Life is. Life gets in the way, dude. And I'm also 46. Like, you never know. Like, there could be a. There could be a clogged vein somewhere. It's just like the blockage to whatever.
Jackie Fabulous
Have you had yourself checked out?
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, medical conditions. I. Dude, I'm in very good shape. I am for the amount of money I spend on fucking health insurance. I better use it.
Jackie Fabulous
You should just say my dick is picky.
Josh Adam Myers
My dick is picky. Oh, no, it is. It is.
Jackie Fabulous
Dude.
Josh Adam Myers
It's.
Jackie Fabulous
It's just.
Josh Adam Myers
It's weird. It's just. That's how it is. It's how it always has been. Is like, you. If I'm attracted, I'm attracted, and something can turn me off, and if it does, it's hard to get it back. You know, I don't.
Jackie Fabulous
I don't. I don't make fun of men anymore now that I'm getting older and older and older, and I'm just like, oh, this is not. Just like, he's not an. He's just old, you know, like, he's not lazy. His hip is killing him, that kind of thing, bro.
Josh Adam Myers
I'm in. I am in great shape. Like, I'm. I am. I'm the. In the best shape my life. I mean, I do so much to, like, keep myself young, whether stretching or yoga and working out. But it's like, just. It is what it is. I mean, we just. Bringing it all back to this. We just lost Jimmy Cliff. How old was Jimmy Cliff, Alex, when he died, buddy, how old was Jimmy?
Jackie Fabulous
Had to be 70s.
Josh Adam Myers
In his 70s. I mean, think about this record, dude. 72. This came out in 72.
Jackie Fabulous
I was two years old.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Okay. I was. I wasn't born. I was still. I don't even know. I was sperm yet. You
Jackie Fabulous
balls drop yet?
Josh Adam Myers
No, my dad, he was 81, and it seems there were two, at least
Jackie Fabulous
two porn films entitled Harder They Come over the Years. I knew it because I have seen.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, the porn movie was 81.
Jackie Fabulous
No, no.
Josh Adam Myers
Jimmy Cliff was 81 when he died.
Jackie Fabulous
But there were.
Josh Adam Myers
The answer to your other question was.
Jackie Fabulous
There is at least two porn films
Josh Adam Myers
named the Harder They Come over the years.
Jackie Fabulous
One in the 90s and one in the early 2000s. I knew it.
Josh Adam Myers
I love that. Well, this is basically the album that smuggled reggae into America because this wasn't just a niche thing anymore after this, this became a movement, like I said. Soundtrack to the cult film the Harder they come, starring Mr. Jimmy Cliff, who passed away recently, is about the rise and fall of an outlaw. It's half Western, half protest, all fucking vibes. All vibes. It's a sampler of Jamaica greatness. Cliff Toots in the Maytols, which we did earlier. We did it. God, so funny. I've. I've done most of my reggae records all with. Well, I did one with a Porn star Indica Flower. Big ups to her. She's like. She's like a white chick with these dreadlocks. She's so hot. Lesbian. So I have no chance with her, but good God, I love her. Who else have I done? Oh, Ian Edwards. Ian Edwards has done like two or three. He did Toots and he did two Bob Marley records. And then we also, on this have. Because I love the Toots and the Bay Talls, Desmond Decker and the Melonians. This is ranked usually in the discussion of the greatest soundtracks ever. It's up there with Saturday Night Fever, but this is more of a revolution. This is more of a revolution vibe. And I think fewer leisure suits, I'd say that. Then. Then Saturday Night Fever, I was gonna say is. What would, you know. Would you put this record in the. In the.
Jackie Fabulous
In the.
Josh Adam Myers
The. What do they call that? Where the President's faces? The Mount Rushmore. Would you put that in the. Mount Rushmore? The top five greatest soundtracks. What do you got? The Bodyguard soundtrack, Lost Boys soundtrack. What are you putting Saturday Night Fever for? Sure.
Jackie Fabulous
Top 10, probably. Because Jimmy Cliff really is a huge deal.
Josh Adam Myers
Huge deal. I mean, and this is also the way that. The way that Saturday Night Fever brought disco. What? It didn't bring it to the world, but it's like. It's the. It's the, you know, it's the. It is the quintessential Red, not Ray. Oh, God damn it. Disco record.
Jackie Fabulous
Yeah, go ahead.
Josh Adam Myers
No, I was gonna say, I think this would be the. This would be the Jamaican equivalent in. In just cultural significance. Because this isn't just because, like, the Bodyguard sound checks great with. I. You know, with, you know, and I
Jackie Fabulous
want to watch the movie over again now because I want to see if they really did have chemistry. I love that whole forbidden love kind of thing. If Costner and Whitney were probably low key, you know, hiding the sausage in the trailer.
Josh Adam Myers
Love Whitney. Love her to death. What's going on? What's going on in the world? And this record comes out. So Jamaica post independence optimism colliding with poverty, corruption, and record industry exploitation. In us, you have the Vietnam fatigue because that's been going on for a minute. Watergate has been kind of rumbling. You got counterculture curiosity for authentic global music. And. Yeah, so I guess. I guess what. Why this was such a big deal is America is basically ready for something that sounds joyful but also means business. Because I think that's what's so great about reggae music. It. It sounds like this. You know, it's just this beautiful, like, like it's a joke that I've been doing. You know, I did this on stage. I stand around to make it funny. It's like reggae music is about growing up in Jamaica and Haiti and like these, like these, these impoverished nations. Beautiful but impoverished nations. And it's about the struggles, you know, Trench Town rock, like, you know, the stand up for your rights. Like, there's so many, like, powerful meanings in their songs.
Jackie Fabulous
I feel like you're gonna marry a black girl and have a bunch of mixed kids. All right, I just had a little premonition.
Josh Adam Myers
I don't know what it is. I hope I. Dude, I hope so, because I would. I would love it. I'd love her to be a little bit taller too. So. All right, so five generations from now, everybody in my family could be five, ten.
Jackie Fabulous
You're not short.
Josh Adam Myers
I'm not, but I'm just saying, I always say, man, I wish my great, great, great, great, great, great grandmother would have like a Nigerian. Like a six foot seven Nigerian dude. So everybody in my family could be five ten.
Jackie Fabulous
That's a low bar. Five.
Josh Adam Myers
I know I'm five nine on a good day, so I'll take your.
Jackie Fabulous
Your voice makes you at least 5 11.
Josh Adam Myers
My personality too. Yeah, it's a lot. I'm a lot. What are the big hustles of this record? And I think this can be compared to, to comedy. I mean, what. Here's what I got. I got the hustle versus the system. I said, you know, it's, it's, it's, you know, it's relatable for being a comic, you know, because you, you know, we've. We've all done, you know, spots for fucking drink tickets. You know, it's like the amount of work that we put in, it's also like, you know, joy is like resistance where it's like dancing while. While talking about injustice. We're up there trying to, you know, whether it's either the comics that are talking about the political stuff, the Trevor Noah is the Jon Stewart's, you know, and then also the, the Jackie Fabulous is. They're talking about the plates of, of an old man trying to get an erection. I mean, that's, that's an injustice to the world.
Jackie Fabulous
Do you have any, any, any intel to how much the comics made? Who went to the Middle east to do those shows?
Josh Adam Myers
Well, I went, I went to Riyadh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I went to Rio.
Jackie Fabulous
Paid like that kind of dough?
Josh Adam Myers
No, but I got paid very well. I didn't get Paid that kind remotely. I got paid. I got paid about what I would get paid if I did two weekends. So with nothing huge. I am. No, not with bonuses.
Jackie Fabulous
Okay.
Josh Adam Myers
But this is the thing is that. Is that the. I was me. Like, me, Chris Redd, Matt Richards, Andrea Jin, a few others. Like, we weren't on the flyer, so we kind of were able to. Low. So the big tracks. Let's see. What are the important things we need to talk about? Track highlights, of course. The Harder They Come. Jimmy Cliffs Defiant Anthem. It sounds sunny, but it's basically. It's basically him saying, I will not be crushed by your nonsense.
Jackie Fabulous
Have you ever had a formal record deal, Josh?
Josh Adam Myers
Me?
Jackie Fabulous
Yes.
Josh Adam Myers
We. I was in a band where it was. Where it was like. We had a. We probably had a good chance.
Jackie Fabulous
You mean the one that we all know? You make it sound like it was 37 years ago. It was like. It was last year.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, no, no, no, no, no. This was. No, this was. This was in college. This is when I was like, 20. I was. I was doing music for. For a long time. And then I was in a. But I. But I mean, I. And then I. But I. But I went to college. I dropped out of college, just do this band. And then we broke up, and then I went back to college and I finished. It's like, dude, I've never really, like, taken it serious. Seriously. That was the closest I think I ever did.
Jackie Fabulous
You never made, like. What was it? What's the name of the band that I'm aware of now?
Josh Adam Myers
Or Elemental P. Who you.
Jackie Fabulous
What's the full title?
Josh Adam Myers
Element Op. The band. The band that I play for.
Jackie Fabulous
The.
Josh Adam Myers
Use the Jam with.
Jackie Fabulous
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Adam Myers
Lmnop. They're. That's Nick and Joel. I met them at a place in la.
Jackie Fabulous
Why didn't you make an album with comedians singing that have been. That have been so cute.
Josh Adam Myers
No, I mean, if I'm gonna make an album, I'm gonna make. I'm gonna make a real album. I have a whole studio here. I have, like, keyboards. I just bought it. I could do everything in this apartment right here.
Jackie Fabulous
People could pull up to listen to their favorite comedian singing whenever they want to. That'd have been a good.
Josh Adam Myers
That's. If we did a. If we did a. I mean, if it's funny. That's like an Avery Pearson thing. That's like a very. Like, he does that show where the comedians all sing original funny songs or
Jackie Fabulous
they cover songs like they do. They did on yours.
Josh Adam Myers
The Jam. The Jam. Yeah. No, you're I get what you're saying. I, I like what you're throwing, but the, the jam itself, I think is like something that lives in that moment. And TV show is one thing.
Jackie Fabulous
Yeah.
Josh Adam Myers
But I don't know if it's like, I want to hear. Do you really want to hear Chris Hardwick saying one is dead or alive?
Jackie Fabulous
People are insane. When I travel, the amount of time I see somebody eliciting or watching one of you guys and they're listening like, like they're memorizing school notes. People carry you guys everywhere. And I like Bill Burr, my favorite. So, yeah, they have their favorite comedians singing the songs they love. People are fanatics about comedians. You know this.
Josh Adam Myers
Listen, I just learned how to play Mandy by Barry Manilow on the piano. So that's my big thing. My, my main thing is I'm trying to learn how to play Claire de Lune by Claude debussay. Me and Bill went to go see. Go see him in at Radio City on mushrooms. It was amazing.
Jackie Fabulous
I was about to say, how is he now? I know he's old as hell old.
Josh Adam Myers
His face looks weird. But also, we were on mushrooms, so, I mean, that kind of added to it.
Jackie Fabulous
Oh, gosh.
Josh Adam Myers
Hold on. Let's. Let me get. We get a couple track highlights and I'll get your ass out of here, baby.
Jackie Fabulous
Okay.
Josh Adam Myers
All right. The Harder They Come. We talked about that. I love Many Rivers to Cross. That was something that I had saved for a long time. That is a soul wrenching ballad.
Jackie Fabulous
And both of us. Nice and gray, girl.
Josh Adam Myers
Come on.
Jackie Fabulous
Look, you.
Josh Adam Myers
We look good with gray.
Jackie Fabulous
We. We look so cute with gray.
Josh Adam Myers
Pressure drop, dude. Dude, this, this record, this is all right. Let me tell you something about reggae. White people should not be making it. This is a black person music. Let's keep it that way. White people stop. I'm bringing that joke back tonight.
Jackie Fabulous
Dreads. How do you feel about that? Is that.
Josh Adam Myers
There's a porn star indica flower. They can do whatever the. They want. I don't hate it. No, I don't listen.
Jackie Fabulous
I don't.
Josh Adam Myers
I don't hate Jackie. Here's the deal.
Jackie Fabulous
Yeah.
Josh Adam Myers
I don't hate anything. I hate that you can't listen. It's not. It's not like. And you tell me if I'm wrong. I think, dude, if you. Because there's Asian, a lot of like the Japanese are very influenced by like hip hop culture and streetwear and so
Jackie Fabulous
they started their hair.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah. And they started. They started dreading their hair. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I feel, though, you know, look, it is. Is it cultural appropriation? Everything's cultural. It's the birthing. It's like, all right, well, black people, if I can't do this and you can't ride skateboards, the way I look
Jackie Fabulous
at it, as my hair is naturally Michael Jackson, 1974, and I am straightening it my whole life. So there's always a way to look at it.
Josh Adam Myers
And, And I don't think. It's not like there. It's not like somebody's wearing blackface. I feel like it is a. Or they're like, you know, they're taping their eyes to be thinner, like, you know, or like opening their eyes like Asian people have been doing as kids.
Jackie Fabulous
It's like. But it's also a board. Like, it's a. It's also insulting. It's. It's a. It's. It's flattering. It's insulting. It's educational. It's harmless. There really is. To me. It's a gray area.
Josh Adam Myers
I mean, but that's the thing. We should be more gray than colorful. We should all be just one, not one. We should all look at it like that whole.
Jackie Fabulous
I don't see color, depending on the topic.
Josh Adam Myers
Sure, of course. Listen, dude, of course, I'm not. I. Look, I completely agree with what you're saying, but it's like, dude, it's. It's if. If. If somebody. Because then you'd be going up to like a homeless guy that hasn't showered in three years going, stop appropriating my culture because your hair is all dreaded up. And the guy's like, that's not the same thing. No, but I, But I mean, but that.
Jackie Fabulous
It.
Josh Adam Myers
I mean, there's a free barber that on Tick Tock that you could find that would cut your hair.
Jackie Fabulous
There's always a thousands of men who need a barber in downtown LA alone.
Josh Adam Myers
Sure. And I think, look, I mean, because I got. We got flack from. From Indica. Not Indica, but other people. This one girl said something about. About you know, white people having dreads and culture appropriation. And dude, she. Indica, who was such a great guest and, you know, she is a white chick from Louisiana that has dreadlocks, but she's like a neo hippie. She owns a farm. Like, she's so. Like, she's not. She. She practices what she preaches. She's all organic, blah, blah, blah. And that's just. That's the vibe of what she is. She believes And I think that whole,
Jackie Fabulous
like, bohemian style also.
Josh Adam Myers
And I. And I think, you know, so, yeah, if that's what you want to do, you know, so be it. I don't think there's an issue with it. I think, you know, people are gonna. I mean, dude, there was that video of that girl that just went to the beach and she was a tick tocker and she had. She had braids in her hair. And then this black chick called her out. She's like, I just. I was in Bahamas, like, or Jamaica, and this is what they did.
Jackie Fabulous
It's. It's. Oh, yeah, that's different because that's situational in that instance.
Josh Adam Myers
But she got called out in America for having them still in. And it's like just. Yeah, you know, it'.
Jackie Fabulous
Why she look cute.
Josh Adam Myers
But do you know what? But you even said it, though. And look, I'm not. I'm not saying anything. This is right. But you even said it is like your hair is naturally one way and yet you do it another way. The way that, like, Nat King Cole did it. So they could not to fit in. It's just that there's, like, you.
Jackie Fabulous
It's more maintenance because naturally to wear that fro out. It's not. It doesn't stay that way when you go to sleep. You have to really manipulate it to get it like this for me. I can just pin it up and go to bed.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah, I would, dude. I would. I would. Jerry Curl if I was black.
Jackie Fabulous
Jerry Curl. I seen some videos, unfortunately, where they're trying to bring it back. And that is the one style that is racist. I don't care who wears it. It's horrible. Don't bring it back.
Josh Adam Myers
What was that? That was one of the J. God damn it. The J. Chris. Not J. Chris Newberg, who's a guy that owns a comedy club in downtown la. J. Oh, fuck.
Jackie Fabulous
Downtown la. Upstairs.
Josh Adam Myers
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's in. It's in above Manchester Avenue. It's in Inglewood. It's the J Spot. J Spot. J. Anthony Brown.
Jackie Fabulous
I'm like, these clubs have been closed for years.
Josh Adam Myers
I know, I know, I know. But he had that. He had that really funny bit about, about. About the activator. It's like, I forget how it went. My sister and I used to do it. We got to get you out of here. We're at three minutes, so let's. Let's get a hard wrap up on this. Alex, before we go. I just wish we. Yeah, we talked about snow too long.
Jackie Fabulous
It's called being present in the moment.
Josh Adam Myers
I know, I know, but you got it. There's a guy, there's. There's a dude in Michigan that wants to murder me. Because if I don't do. We don't bring up all the facts. What do you got, Alex? What. What do we need to talk about? I don't want to. I don't want to sell this album short. And by the way, everybody, this is. This record is, you know, if you haven't listened to. This is considered one of the greatest records of all time and well deserved for reggae. I think you're talking about, you know, this is up there with like, Bob Marley, legend. It's inducted into the Grammy hall of Fame for its lasting cultural significance. If you haven't listen to this, listen to this. It might be the greatest reggae compilation ever released. This is the equivalent of indestructible sound of Soweto. If anybody remembers that from the deep cut. Check that episode out with John Hater where we talked about African. African. The fucking. The fucking Graceland music. Good God, no wonder.
Jackie Fabulous
Do you have a collection of vinyl?
Josh Adam Myers
No, no, no, no, I don't have one. I don't have fucking room for it too. I just got. Dude, I got so knows, baby. So knows. I should get a record player. But I spend more. I know, I know I do. I spend more money on. I care more about just the fact that you have everything in your phone with Dark Lord Spotify and I pay for like four streaming services. Okay, but it's like I'd rather spend the money on other stuff, you know?
Jackie Fabulous
You feel like the kind of guy that we would meet somewhere and I'd finally come to your house and you would be spending like the first two hours showing me your vinyl collection.
Josh Adam Myers
No, no, dude, I have none. I have like, vinyl going to do it. I have. Oh, dude, I'm. We're. I'll get you in. You. I go, you want to go meet. Want to go meet Lekka? Want to go meet the dog? That's how I get back here. I go, you want to go meet Lekka? And they're like, yes.
Jackie Fabulous
And that's very effective. I can imagine. Like, oh, my God, yes.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah. I hope they have a date later tonight. But I started have a show before that. What do we got, Alex? What do we got? What is important? I don't want to fuck this up, dude. I feel like I'm it up. I mean, this is like. I mean, this has got everything you need. If you haven't listened to it right from the opening track to draw your breaks with the Rocksteady hit Rivers of Babylon. I mean, good God, Many Rivers Across. I mean, I gotta say, that's probably my favorite song on here, Pressure Drop, which is off that Toots in the Maytas. The main thing I want you. I want everybody to know this, guys, is that, you know, white people should not be making reggae music. If you know anything, we need to stop. It is a epidemic, and it needs to stop immediately. And. And call it out. Call it out. If you see a white person singing reggae and they're not in. In a. In a. In a beach like, atmosphere, and that goes all the way to Ocean City, Maryland. Secrets. You know what I'm talking about, Alex. You do, aren't you. You're a D.C. guy, aren't you? I mean, yeah, listen, the only. The only context that can appreciate that is if. If I'm. If I'm at a crab shack on the Eastern Shore where, you know, I'm
Jackie Fabulous
just feasting on a bunch of crabs. And, like, that's the only. That's.
Josh Adam Myers
That's the one time I can.
Jackie Fabulous
I'll. I'll let it slide.
Josh Adam Myers
All right, so, Jackie, these are the final questions we ask everybody. We're not changing them now. Favorite song on this record. What do you got?
Jackie Fabulous
Pressure Drop.
Josh Adam Myers
Pressure Job's phenomenal. If you haven't checked out the Toots in the Maytols record, we did it with Ian Edwards during the Pandemic. I think Morty was on that one. That was during Morty's little run of doing every episode. Super fun. How about Skip Over? Is this a no skip record or is there a track on here that you skipped?
Jackie Fabulous
No, it's a no skip record. It's the kind of record my parents would have on in the background and they'd be dancing to it. Way beyond appropriate.
Josh Adam Myers
It really is. It's this. You know, it's. It's such a short album too, man. I mean, what did. What did this come in at? I want to. I want to miss it. Gosh darn it, Alex. Damn it. I don't have the note in front of me. Who cares? It's like under 40 minutes. It has to be. So definitely not a skipper. Can you to this five seconds.
Jackie Fabulous
Under 40 minutes.
Josh Adam Myers
Dude, I might. My percent. I am Dr. Amazing. My perception of time is unrivaled. Can you to this record, Jackie, or have you. Have you to the Harder they come? Didn't even think about it.
Jackie Fabulous
It is. It is definitely a fuck to album. After some brown liquor. It's a very brown liquor. Red light, red stripes. Yeah. Red stripe. Yeah. It's a very. It reminds me of my eggs. He was. He is West Indian and he loved to turn it down to this. And I always call this kind of music old music because I have a young. I want to. The Wu Tang. I don't have a lot of class when it comes to music, but my ex would turn this on and give me a glass of something brown. It's a very. We're gonna tonight type of music.
Josh Adam Myers
It's a. Yeah, reggae. Reggae can be very sexy. But I think it's like we said earlier, which is. It's sexy. But then when you hear the lyrics, and it's like, my mother died of scurvy. My brother has no legs.
Jackie Fabulous
They having sexies.
Josh Adam Myers
I love you down by the cold, cold river Love you down by the cocoa river.
Jackie Fabulous
They have the sexiest grind on my crotch music while letting you know that everybody in the neighborhood is gonna get robbed.
Josh Adam Myers
Yeah. You're like, grinding crotch. And it's like the police come to beat me up and my. Take my family.
Jackie Fabulous
I love Bob Marley. Bob Marley was stressed the out, okay. If you listen to his music.
Josh Adam Myers
I'm doing that joke on stage. Dude, there it is. I'm doing that. I'm doing that joke on stage because I'm trying to build out that white reggae bit. I've been trying to do it for a while, but I think the real track is just like, it's the most beautiful music in the world, but, like, people are like, freaking do it. But it's like the lyrics are like,
Jackie Fabulous
we never had food in our town. What?
Josh Adam Myers
It's like, I haven't eaten in a week. And my grandma. Oh, she just died of mesothelioma.
Jackie Fabulous
Oh, my God. That's a song. Write that down.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, dude. I came up with a song the other day about. Never mind. I can't say about Thick Lips. I don't even want to get in what it's about, but it's about. It's about hooking up with a girl. She. She got them thick lips.
Jackie Fabulous
Oh, girl. Have you heard that women over a certain age, one of the lips disappears?
Josh Adam Myers
Really?
Jackie Fabulous
Yes, I've heard. I haven't done an examination of my own in a while, but I heard that one that there's four. There's two lips. Four on the. One on each side. And two of them disappear. Look it up.
Josh Adam Myers
I only hook up. I only hook up with girls from 25 to about 32 so their pussies are.
Jackie Fabulous
You're gonna get turned out by an old, old black woman.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, I have. Oh, I have. But look, and I'll hook up. I'd rather an old black than. I'll hook up an old white. Because an old black woman is, you know, she. You can hook up with a 60 year old black chick and she looks like she's 32. Yeah, yeah, I say that joke. He's like, the black dude has gray hair in his beard. He's 147 years old. All right, last thing, last thing is how would you get someone to listen to this record that's never listened to it? Sum it up like, what would be your pitch?
Jackie Fabulous
It would be on my playlist when I set the mood. You're coming over. We know why you're coming over. Low light brown liquor, this in the background. Because it's not overtly. It's not overtly. Please turn around and bend over. Music. It's that unsnap a bra quietly music.
Josh Adam Myers
I'm so, so horny too now. Good God.
Jackie Fabulous
Did I make your dick jump? Sorry.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, dude, it's. And the worst part about it is I can't jerk off for a while because we have to wait for the. He was away for the files to upload. So I always think that we have to turn. You'll see what happens. Alex is gonna go, all right, so keep your cameras. You can turn your camera off, turn the sound off, but leave the page open so it can upload. In my head, I'm like, I can still see into Alex's apartment. And I'm like, oh, man, like my dick out. I gotta go do it on my cell phone on the other room. I would say this, and I think this is the best way to sum this record up. It's like this is how reggae was introduced to America. This is it. This is literally the. This is this. And Bob Marley and Toots and all these guys are the main source that got it here. And. And now reggae. I wouldn't put them in the. In the top five most popular music of. Of the world, but I would put it in the top 20. I think there is still. It's. It's changed in so many ways, but this is what it was. This is where it started. And I think this is the most easily digestible for white people. White people need the non aggressive pressure or pressure.
Jackie Fabulous
Yeah. If they sense too much activism, they lose the desire to jam.
Josh Adam Myers
But they don't know. They don't fucking know, dude. They don't know. They don't know. They're getting force fed. They're getting force fed. Power of the people and hardships. And that is why I love reggae music and that is why white people should not do it. Because all the white people that make reggae music are from Orange County, California. And what hardships have they faced other than it rained once a month? Oh, no, I can't go to the gallery.
Jackie Fabulous
The mall is outside. Amazing Mexican food in Santa Ana. That's all I'm saying.
Josh Adam Myers
I wouldn't call Santa Ana Orange County. I think of Irvine, I think of Tustin.
Jackie Fabulous
Santa Ana is right next to Costa Mesa. It's right there.
Josh Adam Myers
Oh, I love the way you want.
Jackie Fabulous
