A
It's really important that we're building the habit of working with AI. What I notice in a lot of the conversations that I'm having with women entrepreneurs is they aren't anti AI, they are pro integrity.
B
You teach something called the three Cs prompt framework. Can you walk us through what that is?
A
A lot of people are still not prompting effectively and they're prompting too simple. OpenAI's enterprise research reports that most users are saving 40 to 60 minutes every day in tap. Like, I was there. By his side and with my family for 11 days. And in that time I wasn't worried. Like the past version of me as an entrepreneur actually would have been really worried about missing, you know, missing that much work and having 11 days where I wasn't really checking in or anything. But I was able to do that and show up for something that was super so important and be there when he was taking his last breaths. Because I had all of this AI support. And that was a really big wake up call for me and for, I think, very motivating for how I teach AI now because like, this is life and this is time that we don't get back. And to me that's like absolutely the number one benefit. And then I also think that there's a risk in not using AI well in 2026.
B
Talk to me about that.
A
So I think we're at a point right now where you're going to risk falling behind the people who are using AI. Yes. And if somebody else who is your competitor has AI systems and they're able to do the work of 10 people, that is something that actually starts to cut into your edge and what's possible for you. And I feel like we're, we're at this really major crossroads right now where there's going to start being a bigger difference between the ones who are leveraging AI and the ones that aren't. And I think that difference is going to become clearer and clearer as we move through the year. The other thing that I'm starting to see, because a couple years ago when I was teaching and helping people build these systems, I was like, you know, you're so far ahead and it's really easy. We can set all of this up as we get into agentic AI, which is AI that can work on our behalf all on its own. And that's going to be the really big thing we see evolve this year. As that continues to evolve, the system itself gets a little more complex. And I'm finding right now that the people who started earlier and started more simply are having an easier time keeping up with that evolution. And I feel like there's a moment coming where if you wait, and I think this moment's coming really soon, if you wait, you're like losing the opportunity and you're actually going to make it harder on yourself and to learn and to set everything up.
B
You make a great case for really embracing this on your terms because you're right, it's moving so fast that if you, if you don't even get started now, you're going to feel so behind on everything new that's going to come out so rapidly. So I love the way you explain it though, because it's, it doesn't make us fearful. I think you can lean into the opportunity. So I really appreciate how you kind of approach that whole thing. Now I want to talk to you about something you teach, you teach something called the three C's prompt framework. So can you walk us through what that is and how it helps someone like get consistent and high quality results from AI without needing complex prompts?
A
Well, I think a lot of people are still not prompting effectively, agree. And they're prompting in a way that is too simple. And then you have to go back and forth so much or you're then going to have to spend the time actually getting what you wanted in the first place. And that's not what we want. So my 3C's prompt framework is a research backed prompt framework that you can use every single time you're working with AI to make sure that you get a usable result. Now, for people who are also environmentally conscious and you care about the energy impact of AI, remember that one of the things that you can actually do that you have control over is prompting effectively. Because when you do, you are not having to go back and forth because every single time you're prompting the system that's using more energy. So there are a number of reasons to get really effective at prompting. And, and the three Cs are clarity, context and cues. So every time you're prompting, you need to make sure these three things are covered. What are they? Clarity is where you want to make sure you are clear on the role and the goal. So what are you having AI act as now? Cool. Tip. Here you can have AI act in a way that fills in your own blind spots. That actually gives you access to knowledge and to someone's skills that you may not otherwise be able to hire for in your business. So if you're going to have it, create a marketing strategy for you say, I want you to act as an award winning market strategist for small business owners in this industry. And you've had clients list the clients that that strategist has had and tell them what kind of awards they've won, what they've become known for. And now you're actually using AI to fill in gaps in your own skill set versus just having it act as a marketing strategist more generically. So role and goal, you have to be really clear about the, the goal of the output, exactly what you want that output to be. The second C is context. And I still see so many people not providing enough context. So you need to make sure you're providing the bigger picture. Where does this particular prompt fit into the ecosystem of your business? So it might need a lot more information on your business and your strategy, what you do, who your clients are, what their pain points are. That's all, all really important context. And then the third C is the one that I see like 90% of people still missing out on, which is cues. And cues are the supporting documentation that AI could really benefit from having in order to give you exactly what you want. So cues can be things like you, your brand, voice guide, your ideal customer avatar, your business plan, and so many other things that would be adding further documentation or examples to what you want it to do. I end up putting in 5 to 10 cues on average for every prompt that I'm putting into the system.
B
So important I am all about the cues. Like the more I always say feed the beast, the more you can feed it, the better to get you what you want. So it's clarity, context and cues.
A
Those are the three Cs, those are the three Cs. And even when you're doing voice prompting, because I actually love working with chat, GPT and Claude through voice prompts and on advanced voice mode. So even then, have the framework in your mind and make sure you're covering the these key points. And this is really the language of the future that we're moving towards. So prompting is important now. It's also going to be important when we have things like Humanoids, which is not our episode today, but coming down the pipeline. So prompting, I think is really important for, for interfacing with the future.
B
It changes so much. We're definitely going to have to have you on more so that we can stay up to date and you can tell us all the things that are happening and what we need to engage in. So I love that.
A
So, you know, I want to talk.
B
About productivity but before we do, you mentioned something earlier that I don't know if my audience would really understand what you mean. I do, because I've been studying what you're doing. But you said my AI dream team. And so if someone's like, wait a second, what's in. What's an AI dream team? What is that to you when you say that?
A
So my AI dream team to me, and it looks different for every entrepreneur and is a suite of custom GPTs in chat GPT projects in Claude. So projects, if you haven't used Claude is the equivalent of GPTs in ChatGPT and gems in Gemini. And they are trained to fill a very, very specific role in my business. So anything that is a recurring task, I end up putting into a GPT. And that looks like everything from a marketing strategist down to I even have a subject line GPT now, because I found that it was outperforming the marketing strategist to just have a GPT that is trained to be a world class subject line writer that creates subject lines with the highest possible open rates. And it's been working. I have higher open rates than I've ever had in my years and years of being in this space.
B
So cool.
A
So automating everything. And then you can also further automate the way that those custom GPTs or agents are working with each other as well. So if you want to go really advanced, there are ways to have them work together as well to get work done.
B
I love that. Okay, so let's talk about getting work done. Let's talk about productivity. So this is one of the biggest challenges for my listeners. So can you share a few specific ways AI can support a business owner in her day to day work? And you mentioned using agent mode in ChatGPT to analyze things like current marketing trends or algorithm updates or even someone's existing campaigns. So how does that work in a simple, practical way?
A
And how can it help her focus.
B
On what actually moves the needle right now?
A
Okay, big question. I'm gonna, I'm gonna break it into parts. So starting with productivity. If productivity is a challenge for you, I want to invite you to audit your time. And if that sounds really annoying, AI can help you with that. So you can schedule recurring tasks in chat GPT and then it's gonna check in with you, or it can deliver something to you when without you having to go in and prompt. I think this is one of the most underused features of ChatGPT. I use it all the time. So you can go into chatgpt and you just do this in the main thread in your prompt box, you're going to ask it to check in with you. So in this case, like check in with me every four hours and ask me what I've been spending my time on in the last four hours so that you can conduct a time audit for me. And you can have it review your time logs at the end of the week. So once you've done this time audit, you're going to get to see where AI can be helping you. And I actually have these all over my office and they're even in my home, like on my refrigerator, because I use AI for personal stuff too. But it says, can AI be helping me with this? And I think it's really important that we're building the habit of working with AI. And new research from MIT talks about how creativity is the new productivity and how when we're building the habit of working with AI and we're actually having it like be our sparring partner, it can really expand our creativity. So I think there's going to be whole new ways of thinking and creating that open up the more we are working with AI, which I think is really exciting. And then for day to day tasks like, let's look at some of the things that AI could be supporting you with. Inbox organization, I think is a really, really big one. So organizing your inbox, drafting replies that match your tone, proposing next steps, prioritizing things in your inbox, and if you use the Google product suite, which I do for my business, Gemini is a great tool. Gemini's AI has been absolutely phenomenal, especially recently with all of its integration. So you can use Gemini right within Gmail to save you a lot of time. AI can take strategic planning off of your plate. And one of the things I love because it used to take me so long to do this, is it can take your strategic plan and break it all down into the smaller tasks that need to be completed. And it can create the project template for Asana or for Notion. And the funny thing is that this is actually what I used to teach and this is what I wrote books about was like helping, helping somebody to actually break down a strategic plan into individual tasks and then setting up a project plan. And this would sometimes take me days to do and to implement. And now that can be condensed down in less than an hour with AI. And I actually get the project plan built out for me in Asana too. So there's that, there's art. Oh, it's, it really is integrated into every aspect of business now, things like feedback and decision making as well. So can you have it give you really high level feedback like we were talking about? Can it help you to see the things that you don't even know to look for? Can it help fill in your knowledge gaps and give you feedback in a way where it's acting as a really high level consultant and it's able to look at things and tell you where you might be losing someone, like where in your funnel you might be losing someone where they're falling off. It can analyze all of your data. That was one thing I did not enjoy personally doing. I do not enjoy doing the data analysis and it does all of that now. So day to day there's so many things. And then of course content is a big one, especially in our industry. And ironically I'm actually creating more content these days because of my AI support and because I feel really inspired to create a lot right now. So I'm actually having AI handle a lot of other things and I am doing a lot of content. But of course content creation is big and I highly recommend building a content creator, GPT or project in Claude. I do like Claude for marketing and for content above any of the other platforms. Just as an FYI, I was going.
B
To ask you about that. So you said you like Clawd for content and marketing more than the other platforms.
A
Why is that?
B
Because I totally agree. I do too. But why?
A
For you, Clawd is being developed with more human values than the other platforms and it's trying to build with ethical guardrails and safeties in place. And they also created Claude to try and and sound and feel as human as possible. That's actually part of their core mission with Claude. So it ends up feeling more human. And I think for those things that are so important in your business and for conversions like your content and your marketing, you need it to connect with people. You need it to be emotionally compelling. And I do feel like Claude has the edge there. So I do often recommend people work with clients. Claude on content and marketing and Amy, you also mentioned Agent, the agent mode. And so I want to make sure.
B
What is Agent mode and how do you use it?
A
Agent mode is really cool. And just FYI, you will need to be on the Pro plan of ChatGPT to be able to access Agent mode. A lot of people when they're using ChatGPT, they're just using the default. They use whatever the default model is and they use the default settings and they don't actually change those to suit what it is that they're doing. And a lot of people don't even know with a, with Agent mode what you can do. So it's available to pro users. So you'd have to have the $20 a month plan, which I do highly recommend, because for $20 a month you can build an entire team and all these AI systems and you have a certain number of cross credits each month for Agent Mode. So you can't do unlimited agent tasks. But what Agent mode is, is it can actually plan and it can complete multiple steps for you and more complex things on its own browser. So you give it something to do and it can go off and it can do all that work and then it comes back to you while you're doing other things. You can just set it and walk away. I had Agent mode doing a a really cool task that I would love to share with you. I think it'll be really helpful for everybody listening. It took 30 minutes to do the task, so you don't always get things back right away. But it's really cool. And because it can do multiple step tasks and more complex things, you can have it do a whole bunch of things as long as you're sharing step by step what you need. It's really good at research as well. And there is a research mode. So if you need something that's just like a research paper with documentation and citations, you can also choose that. Now, where do you find this functionality? In the prompt box in Chat GPT, the left side of the prompt box, you're going to see a plus sign. And if you click on that plus sign, you'll see the different options that are available to you. And that's where you're going to find deep Research mode, and it's where you're going to find Agent mode, which is by far one of my favorite ways to work with ChatGPT. So you can work with it on marketing in this kind of way. You want to make sure that you first select Agent mode and tell it what you want it to do step by step. And you'll still want to use the 3C's program prompt framework for this too, by the way. I also, I'm about to get into things that may start to feel overwhelming for our listeners. So I want to let you all know that we actually have a guide for you. So you're going to get a guidebook to everything I'm talking about today. So you don't have to worry about writing all of this down. You don't have to worry about remembering it or doing it on your own. You're going to find these prompts that I'm sharing with you and you're going to find the 3C's prompt framework in the guidebook.
B
So good. And thank you for doing that because I think that's so helpful when we're talking about something that has a lot of details to it.
A
Yes, it's, it, it's a lot of detail. And if you've never used it before, it might just sound like I'm speaking a foreign language. So one of the things that I get really, or I used to get really frustrated by in my business. I don't know if this has ever frustrated you, Amy. The Instagram algorithm. Algorithm, yes, absolutely. Say less when I'm trying to plan a campaign. And Meta is like, by the way, we've just changed the algorithm and we've released a brand new ads platform that can be really frustrating to try to navigate as a business owner. And if you don't have a marketing agency or someone who's always keeping on top of all of this, it can actually cost you money. It can cost you results in your business. So now every few weeks I have agent mode go off and research all the latest updates to the algorithm. So I tell it, go and look at the algorithm, everything you can find out about it today for Facebook, for Instagram and for LinkedIn. And I want you to do that research again. I'm building out a more comprehensive prompt that I will provide in the guidebook to all of our listeners.
B
Okay.
A
And then I have it do that research and prepare a report for me based on everything it knows about my business for what would be the top priority performing pieces of content that I could release in my niche in alignment with the algorithm and whatever the latest updates are. So it will give me high performing content, it will research high performing content in my niche and then it will give me a report of everything it's found and a content strategy that I can use in alignment with everything that it found. So that my.
B
Wow, that's huge.
A
Isn't that, isn't that huge? Like, as someone who's such a pro marketer like you are, you know how much time this stuff takes?
B
So much. Yes.
A
And you could have a whole team that has to keep on top of all of this. And that is how it used to be. You used to have to hire an expensive agency so that you could navigate all of this and now it can help you. And agent mode is amazing for doing this kind of Research. Also research on what's working right now, what your competitors are having success with, things like that.
B
Yes.
A
Okay.
B
That's huge. I can't wait for everyone to get their hands on those prompts. Plus, we've got some more coming up, so stay with us. We'll give you the URL, you can go grab it. But just know that we're giving you a lot of information, but we want you to take action. So Natalie has set us up for that. Absolutely. But Natalie, I want to come back to that dream team you talked about because a lot of women are listening.
A
Right now and they're like, I need.
B
Help, but I am not ready to hire. Either I can't afford to hire yet, or I'm just a little bit too new in my business to know what to hire for. So I know that you've shared ideas for creating custom GPTs that act like a marketing strategist or a content creator, or even, like you mentioned, a subject line writer.
A
So can you get a little bit.
B
More specific and walk us through how these AI rules or roles work in a business and how someone can start building an AI powered, let's say, marketing team without having to hire a bunch of people?
A
Yeah. And I want to highlight too, what an exciting moment this is for micro business owners, because for the first time, if you are listening and you're a solo entrepreneur, or if you're a micro business owner, which means you have five or less employees, which actually is the majority of small business owners, you can have the functional support of a multimillion dollar company like it's a real democratizer and can really level the playing field. And so, you know, this is what I teach inside my program, AI Dream Team. And we go a lot deeper into the different roles and providing you with the templates and all of that. But the simplest way to think about this process is that you're shifting from using AI as a tool to using AI as team. And that looks very, very different. So if you want AI to function as your marketing strategist and content creator, subject line writer, like what I was talking about, you need to treat it the way that you would a human team member. So if you've ever hired a human team member, and even if you haven't, I will fill you in, there is a training period like, Amy, I'm curious actually, how long on your team is the training period for a new employee? Can you actually tell us a little bit about your process?
B
Absolutely, yes. We have. Any new hire has a 30, 60, 90 onboarding plan and it takes a long time for the manager to create all the things we want them to do in the first 30 days with details and links and all the descriptions. And then we go into 60 days and 90 days. And it takes a long time, not only 90 days to get someone fully trained on the business, but creating that document also takes a lot of time and then all the check ins that we do along the way, it's a, it's a huge commitment to hire someone new on the team.
A
Yes. So this is the process too that I want you to hear and understand when you're building a team member for AI. And it doesn't have to take 90 days, but you do need what Amy's speaking to, which is the documentation, the standard operating procedures that a team member would have to have in order to do their job like an absolute rock star, which is of course, course what you want. So this is why you need to also make sure that you have separate roles and documentation for the role set up, which is what you're going to put into a custom GPT. If you haven't created a custom GPT before, don't worry. It's very similar to writing a comprehensive prompt which we've got a guide for you on. And when you create it, it's just chat, GPT.com forward slash GPTs. GPTs. That's where you're going to find the section for you to create your own custom GPT. If you're new to this and you haven't already done it, so you're going to provide it with a really comprehensive prompt for what you want that role to actually fill in a very similar way that Amy or I would have to do when bringing a team member onto our business and, and sharing how we expect that team member to work. What are, if it's for marketing, like what are our bigger goals? What are the key performance indicators? We want to give those to AI as well. We want to share more about our voice and our brand values and our vision. Like the culture of a company is so important. You know this from everything that you've built, like keeping that culture. And you have such a phenomenal team and building that is also essential. So how are you building culture into your custom GPTs and the reason why you want to have separate roles? I get asked this all the time is the same reason you don't hire one human in your business and say you're going to be my strategist, copywriter, designer, project manager and social media manager. You're going to do it all. And you're going to do it all so, so well. And it's going to get really good results for my business. I've, I've done that in the early days of my business, tried to have a one assistant that does way too many things. And when you try to fit too many things into one GPT as well, when it lacks a clear objective, you can end up with contradictory objectives and instruction overload. And what happens when there's overload? That's when you get the generic outputs. And it's kind of like a human team member. If you give them way too much to do, you're going to make them feel super frazzled, they're going to get burnt out, and they're not going to be able to create what you want them to create. So that's one really important thing. So I want you to look at what would make sense for you to start with, and maybe it's something like a marketing strategist and a content creator. And you're going to pick one role, one job at a time. One of the things I want you to do first, actually, before setting up the custom GPT is I want you to prompt manually. So in the main thread, I want you to actually develop a comprehensive prompt that gives you the output that you want from your marketing strategist, from your content creator. And I want you to go through that iteration process before you actually automate it into a GPT. It can be really good learning, especially for anyone listening that is new to this. If this all feels new, start by doing this in the main thread. And then once you feel like you're getting what you want, that's when you know it's time to create the custom GPT, because then you can automate this. A custom GPT has a, I often call it a system prompt. It has instructions that you put in so that it can do the same thing every single time without you always having to repeat your prompt. It saves loads and loads of time. And then you also need to make sure, like we talked about in the 3C's prompt framework, you need all the context and all the cues. You want to make sure the knowledge base is full of really powerful cues that are going to make sure that you get those results that you want. And then once you've built that, the advanced level. So if anyone's listening right now and they're like, natalie, I've already set up my custom GPTs and I've already got the system in place. A little advanced tip for you you can using the symbol in chat GPT, you can call on different team members in the same thread so that you can actually stack the custom GPTs you've built. And you can also create automations. So the way that I've done that is using a tool called taskade. And again, this is really advanced. So if you're beginner level, just erase from your mind what I'm saying right now. But for anyone who's more advanced and you want to give that a try, you can actually have your AI team members set up to work without you prompting them. Your marketing strategist on a Sunday could send your AI content creator their tasks for the week without you having to touch the system.
B
I mean, that is good. I didn't know you could do that. So that definitely I'm going to try that one. I want to back up for a second. You had said if you're new to this, just get into the regular chat and start prompting this. And what you meant by that, I think, and I want to make sure is let's say I want to build a chat GPT for a marketing strategist. Are you suggesting that I get into just chat GPT or just chat first and have these conversations, have it help me as a marketing strategist and then from what I learned from there, build the custom GPT?
A
Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. And in the main thread there are a number of things that you could have it create. So maybe you want to start with a quarterly marketing strategy for your business and practice creating that really comprehensive prompt that gives you that quarterly plan that you're like, wow, this is going to be a game changer for me and I will put that into the guidebook as well. So for everybody who is like, I need this, I need support with this, you'll find these prompts for having AI function as marketing roles as a marketing team in your business. And you can get the guidebook@natalie macneil.com and we'll make sure you get that in the show notes and then you can have support in all of this and actually taking action on what we're talking about today.
B
Absolutely. So you had mentioned that you can use AI to help you with planning projects. I love that you said it could build out a full asana task or project plan. Love that. But also I know it can help you document different processes or improve conversation. And I was just curious, are there specific tools you personally would rely on to help you with systems support for especially for those listening that have super small businesses and they're not going to hire a bunch of ops people, but they want help in those areas.
A
There are so many tools that are available right now. I test them basically for a living. At this point, I'm testing like three to five new tools every week and really looking at, okay, is this something that somebody actually needs in their stack? I don't like giving people a lot of tools to use. I want to keep it really simple. I actually think that most business owners only need to use an LLM, which is a large language model. So Chat GPT Class, Claude, Gemini, these are large language models. They can do the majority of what you're going to need. I think it is helpful to choose one and be all in on it.
B
Okay. And I use Chat GPT and Claude, but I tend to lean more toward Claude. Is that what you mean? Like have your main one, but then maybe the other one you could use for other things or do you just want just use one?
A
If you have the resources to use multiple LLMs, then go for it. So for me personally, especially because I'm doing a lot of testing, I actually am on a lot of tools, but it's because I test it so that my clients and my students don't have to. For most people, there's so much that you can do on one. And I think for you, Amy, having ChatGPT, I call ChatGPT the Multimodal Museum. So it can do so many different things. Claude, to me, for things that are really human, for marketing, for content, that's the number one tool that I recommend. I also love the new Claude skills feature. It's something that's just come out in the last few model updates and feature updates and it's really cool because you can now have skills that are fed to the whole system so it gets to know you at, at a higher level and then it can carry that across every prompt and every project. So I really like some of the features that Claude is building in. It's a great tool if you're only going to pick one to actually get a pro plan on. I would recommend Claude at this moment in time.
B
Okay. I know things change a lot. That's why we have to have you back. But I love that you said that.
A
I don't want to get too deep.
B
Into it because I know we're wrapping up soon, but I did want you to. Could you give an example of what a skill would be that you would create in Claude and why that would be helpful? I just learned about skills and I think they're pretty fascinating.
A
Yeah, they are incredible. So an example of this is I have multiple projects that are set up in Claude, so things like a social media content creator or having the subject line writer, and what I used to do is in the knowledge base, I would have to upload all of the cues that were required and things like the brand voice guide. More about my business, an overview of who we serve and what we're focused on, all of our core goals, our standard operating procedures. Now, instead of having to do that, I can actually have a skill which you upload into the personalization settings in Claude and then it carries that across all of your projects so that you don't have to put those things in individually. One of the things I recently created that's really cool is a brand design guide. And the design guide has all of our brand fonts and colors, like our full brand kit, as a skill. So now, and it's not perfect, like the image generation and the graphic generation at the time that we're recording, this is not perfect, but it's getting really, really good. So if it has your brand kit, it will actually create graphics for you and in your colors and with your fonts. So that's another example of a skill that you can upload to Claude as well as your brand voice as well as your ideal customer avatar and things like that.
B
I think that is so valuable. Love that opportunity and you're not having to repeat yourself over and over again. So I love it.
A
Yeah. Let me say one thing about the skills. So the skill is a very specific file type. They have a skill file type. But you can work with Claude to create the skill file for you so you can be like, hey, Claude, I really want to create a brand voice guide as a skill. Please guide me through that process. And I'll need you to create the skill file in the format that's required by Claude so it can help you do that. And you can think of these, like, standard operating procedures, like anything in your business that you want the entire team to have access to because it's a standard or it's part of your culture. You can put all of those into skills in Quad.
B
That is so powerful. I love that you shared that. I hope some people are listening. They're like, wait, what? I'm going to check that out because I think that's a big one. Before we wrap up, Natalie, I was thinking you've helped so so many entrepreneurs build stronger, more sustainable businesses with AI, and I was curious, what's one mindset shift or different perspective that you wish every woman would adopt about using AI as a strategic advantage, not just like a convenience. What would you say to her?
A
So I think about one of my clients. Let's call her Barbara. I don't know why that came first. That's first.
B
Barb. Let's go.
A
First name that came out of my mouth, Barb. And Barb built her AI dream team, and she saved so much time. But then, do you know what she did with that time? What? She filled it with even more work for herself. Because from a mindset perspective, it was feeling too easy for her. It was almost like it was almost. It was too good to be true. It was too easy. And she wasn't working hard anymore. And the hard work was such a core part of her identity as an entrepreneur. And we were unpacking this, and I even have chills sharing the story because I can so relate to this from especially my earlier days of building a business. Hard work was praised in my family, and because hard work was praised in my family, anyone who's listening who has this as part of their story, you're going to relate to this. I felt like I had to be working hard in order to be valuable as a human being. Yes. Yeah. So even when my business was doing really well, even when I had the team, even when I had systems and I could actually take space for the first time in my business, this happened years ago. This is when I started delegating with. With human team members. And I had this space, and the space was really scary for me. It brought up a lot of stuff for me to unpack and to work through at that time. And I did it. I did that deeper work and I unpacked all that. And I went back into my business with a different kind of embodiment, and I was finally ready for it to be easier. And that changed everything for me. Because when I have space now, I fill it with people that I love and hobbies and things that I want to be doing in my life outside of business. Even though what I feel I'm here sharing with the world is really important, I love it. It's a mission for me. And I also want to squeeze the nectar out of this existence that we get to be in. And so I think one of the biggest mindset shifts that we need to make in the age that we're in in the age of AI is that you have to be willing to let it be easy.
B
Yes. You have to be willing to let it be easy.
A
Yeah. It gets to be easier. You can scale with ease working with AI, but I don't want you taking that time and filling it with your patterns and your conditioning and the busy work that you've been stuck in. I want you to use that time for something that really, deeply matters to you. That's either in your zone of genius or it's something that brings you a deeper sense of fulfillment, fulfillment in life. That is what I want for everyone listening.
B
Natalie, that's beautiful. That's the reason I wanted you to come on the show. You have so much heart.
A
You're fully in AI.
B
You're testing all the things for us. You're teaching it to your students. And you also do it with so much integrity and heart. And I love that about you. So there's some people listening that they're like, wait, I love her. I want to know, where do I find her? How do I learn more about her? So obviously we have Natalie mcneil.com Amy for the guide, the free guide. But where else can they go to learn more about you?
A
I share my future forecasts and more about AI and my experiments in my newsletter. So you'll find that@natalie macneal.com Newsletter and also on Instagram. I love sharing on Instagram everything I'm finding, discovering, and what I'm seeing for our future, which, by the way, is very bright. I'm a hopeful futurist and I think the future ahead is very, very bright for all of us.
B
Amen to that. I love that. Thank you so much for being on the show. And my friend, I hope you'll come back because there's a lot more we need to talk about.
A
I would love to. Thank you so much for having me.

Episode Title: Why Women Are Falling Behind on AI (and How to Catch Up Without Selling Your Soul)
Guest: Natalie MacNeil
Release Date: January 20, 2026
In this episode, Amy Porterfield interviews Natalie MacNeil, an award-winning entrepreneur and AI educator, about why women are falling behind in leveraging AI for their businesses—and, crucially, how they can catch up with authenticity and integrity. The conversation demystifies AI for women entrepreneurs, offering actionable frameworks, mindset shifts, and tool recommendations aimed at helping listeners build AI-powered support systems that free up their most precious resource: time.
Women’s unique concerns and motivations: Natalie observes that women entrepreneurs aren't anti-AI, but "pro integrity." Their main concern isn't technology itself, but how to use it in alignment with their values.
"What I notice...is they aren’t anti-AI, they are pro integrity." (00:01, Natalie)
Time as the #1 AI benefit: Natalie shares how AI enabled her to be present with family during a difficult time, underlining the human value of freeing up time.
"To me that's absolutely the number one benefit...this is time that we don't get back." (00:40, Natalie)
The risks of not using AI: The AI gap is widening; those not embracing AI risk falling farther behind competitors as agentic AI (AI working independently for you) becomes mainstream.
"You’re going to risk falling behind the people who are using AI." (10:27, Natalie)
Natalie introduces her 3 Cs Prompt Framework—a simple, effective structure to generate consistent and high-quality outputs from AI.
Clarity: Be specific about the role (who the AI is acting as) and goal (desired outcome).
"Clarity is where you want to make sure you are clear on the role and the goal." (13:20, Natalie)
Tip: Have AI fill your skill gaps by specifying hyper-detailed roles, e.g. 'award-winning marketing strategist for small businesses.'
Context: Provide the business ecosystem, strategy details, audience, and pain points—help AI see the big picture.
"So you need to make sure you're providing the bigger picture—where does this particular prompt fit into your business?" (14:18, Natalie)
Cues: Feed in supporting documents—brand guides, customer avatars, examples—so the AI can generate on-brand, relevant results.
"Cues are the supporting documentation... I end up putting in 5 to 10 cues on average for every prompt." (15:15, Natalie)
Environmental impact: Efficient prompting also reduces AI’s energy use—a rarely-discussed, socially conscious benefit.
Applicable for all formats: Works for voice prompting and is essential for future tech like humanoid interfaces.
Natalie shares a paradigm shift: treat AI as a team, not just a tool.
What is an AI dream team?
"My AI dream team...is a suite of custom GPTs in chat GPT projects in Claude." (18:11, Natalie)
Automation & interoperability: Advanced users can automate tasks between AI “team members,” e.g., marketing strategist GPT sending weekly tasks to a content creator GPT.
Democratizing business resources: Microbusinesses and solopreneurs can now access the functional firepower of multimillion-dollar teams.
"For the first time...you can have the functional support of a multimillion dollar company." (33:28, Natalie)
Tangible use cases:
Time tracking & auditing: AI (e.g., ChatGPT) can automatically check in with you about your tasks and audit your time.
"You can schedule recurring tasks in ChatGPT...check in with me every 4 hours..." (20:09, Natalie)
Inbox management & communications: Organize, draft, and prioritize emails using AI integrations (e.g., Gemini for Gmail).
Strategic planning: AI can break down plans into tasks plus create ready-to-load project templates for Asana/Notion—in an hour instead of days.
Analysis and decision support: Let AI handle data analysis, provide feedback, and highlight gaps in funnels or campaigns.
Content creation: Build custom content creator bots; recommends Claude as best for marketing/content due to its human touch.
"Creativity is the new productivity...when we're building the habit of working with AI and...having it like be our sparring partner, it can really expand our creativity." (20:09, Natalie)
Why Claude for content/marketing?
"Claude is being developed with more human values...And I do feel like Claude has the edge there." (25:33, Natalie)
Agent Mode in ChatGPT:
"Agent mode...can actually plan and it can complete multiple steps for you and more complex things on its own browser." (26:31, Natalie)
"It will give me a report of everything it's found and a content strategy I can use in alignment with everything that it found." (31:13, Natalie)
The new entrepreneurial challenge: AI gives us time back, but old patterns of busywork die hard. Natalie shares her client Barbara’s story: once freed from grind using AI, she filled the space with more work instead of fulfillment.
"For the first time...she saved so much time. But then, do you know what she did with that time?... She filled it with even more work for herself. Because...it was feeling too easy for her." (49:24, Natalie)
Let go of hustle for hustle’s sake:
"You have to be willing to let it be easy." (51:59, Amy & Natalie)
Real power of AI: Use the reclaimed time for "zone of genius" activities, meaningful relationships, rest, and personal joy—not just scaling the grind.
"Now...I can actually have a skill which you upload into the personalization settings in Claude and then it carries that across all of your projects..." (46:05, Natalie)
This episode delivers practical guidance and compassionate encouragement for women business owners ready to embrace AI—not as a cold, alienating force, but as a tool for freedom, creativity, and aligned growth. Natalie’s frameworks and real-life examples empower listeners to get started right now, without overwhelm or sacrificing their values.
