Hey, my name is Chris Brennan. And joining me today is astrologer Leisa Schaim. And we're gonna be looking at your year ahead horoscope and astrology forecast for the zodiac sign of cancer for the entire year of 2026. So, hey Leisa, thanks for joining me for horoscopes this year.
A
Hey Chris. Glad to be here.
B
All right, so we recommend watching the horoscope that matches your rising sign primarily for our forecast if you know your birth time, although if you don't, then you can look at the one for your sun sign. So we're gonna focus on giving a big picture overview of the major transits and themes that you' encounter over the course of the next year. So let's go ahead and jump right into it. Here's the planetary movements calendar that shows the movements of the planets through the year. And here are the major transits that we're going to be focusing on during the course of this forecast. The very first one is that Neptune and Saturn are both going to move into Aries early on this year. And then they're going to form a conjunction in the sign of Aries in the month of February. This is a transit where both of these planets are Moving from your 9th House of Education and beliefs and travel, and they're Moving into your 10th house of career where they're gonna stay for quite a while. Cause these are slower moving outer planet transits. Right?
A
Right. Yeah. So they both dipped in for part of the year in 2025, and they got as close to conjunct as they were going to be in July. So if you think back to July, that'll give you a sense of that preview of what's coming up in 2026 for you. So they're both going to be transiting your 10th House of Career and public reputation, how people, any public roles, professional life and so forth. And with the combination of Neptune and Saturn there, there can initially be some dissolving of structures that had previously been in place in your professional life. But that also can open you up to a time of reimagining and putting into reality things that you have dreamed of for your professional life.
B
Absolutely. Yeah. So the departure of Neptune from your ninth house is gonna bring some clarity because it's gonna remove some ambiguity and some nebulousness from the area of beliefs and your thoughts and education and things like that. And probably a good way that feels like an alleviation of some heaviness in that area. But then it's gonna move some of That a little bit to your 10th house. On the one hand, you're gonna need to do some restructuring when it comes to your career and your overall life direction. There are sometimes some difficulties or setbacks or surmountable obstacles that come up in terms of our career during this time, where it can be one of those situations where one door closes, but then it ends up opening another as a result of that. And there's also just gonna be some ambiguity because Saturn and Neptune has this reality distortion field when they come into a conjunction. And that energy is really gonna peak around February, which may make it difficult to tell the difference between what's real versus what's not, or in a career context, what's practical to do versus what you want to do in terms of your ideals and your beliefs. And that's gonna peak around February, but then it's gonna dissipate a little bit after that, which will hopefully bring a little bit more clarity for the rest of the year.
A
Mm, yeah. You're basically blending the energies of imagination or dreams, aspirations, idealism, and reality concrete. What can you make real of those dreams?
B
Definitely. All right, so that's our first major transit of the year. Then the next one that comes up right on the heels of that is we enter our first eclipse season starting in February and going through into March, where there's going to be first an eclipse in February in the sign of Aquarius in your eighth house. And then there's going to be an eclipse in Virgo starting in March in your third whole sign house, which is the place of siblings, neighbors, short distance travel, and communication. This is interesting because the Aquarius eclipse is gonna be the first in the start of a new series of eclipses bouncing back and forth this year between your eighth house of shared resources and other people's money and your second house later in the year of personal finances and possessions. It's gonna start to shift the focus of having major beginnings and major endings when it comes to the financial sector of your chart over the course of 2026.
A
So this first one in Aquarius is going to be in the eighth house. So that's involving shared resources, shared finances, other people's money or your partner's income if you are partnered. Also other financial topics that aren't direct income, like taxes, loans, debt, and so forth. And then the final one is mortality related things. So especially the financial pieces of that. So estate planning, like wills, inheritance, and so forth. So when the eclipses start happening in those financial sectors, there'll be beginnings and endings around topics and at the point of the aquarius one early in the year. That'll be on those shared resources side.
B
Yeah, absolutely. And the Virgo eclipse in your third house of communication Is actually a continuation of a series of eclipses that was already happening last year in 2025, of major beginnings and major endings when it comes to communication and how you speak into the world, but also people in your life, such as siblings, if you have any extended family and relatives, as well as neighbor and your city around you in general, everything outside of your immediate home and living situation, There can be some major beginnings and major endings in that area. For example, either in terms of things going on in your sibling's life, if you have any, or in terms of your relationship with your siblings entering into some sort of new chapter, with one chapter closing, and then opening up a new one around the time of this eclipse.
A
Yeah. There can also be beginnings and endings around short distance travel. That is how you get around. So oftentimes people will get a new car, Their car will break down, and they need a new one that can come up during third house eclipses pretty commonly, right?
B
Definitely. All right. So that's the eclipse season that wraps up in March. The next major transit we move into is Uranus is going to move into Gemini starting in April, and it's gonna stay there for the next six or seven years. So this is a major transit because Uranus is departing from your 11th house of friends and groups and alliances, where it's been transiting since 2018 and 2019, causing some unexpected shakeups and innovations when it comes to friends and groups. And now Uranus is moving into a house that has to do more with seclusion. Sometimes our relationship with people that we don't get along with as well in our life, as well as our relationship with more internal processes that have to do with isolation and self contemplation, which can include working on improving our mental health and things like that, and finding new and innovative ways to do that sort of inner work.
A
Mm, definitely. Yeah. And with any Uranus transit, as it's going through those house topics that you just mentioned, it does it via experimentation or suddenness. So you can have sort of sudden epiphanies while you're, you know, in contemplative mode, or you can have sudden realizations around how to better approach your mental health or how to best approach dealing with people you don't get along with and that sort of thing.
B
Yeah, absolutely. So sometimes there can be unexpected disruptions that come up when it comes to people in your Life that you don't get along with or even people who are enemies or work against you in some way. But ultimately the purpose of the transit is to gain greater freedom and liberation when it comes to some of those people. And in some ways that can be really positive things in terms of pushing back against the limitations of people who attempt to undermine you in different ways, including even if that can be extended in some instances to yourself, where sometimes we have certain behaviors that can undermine ourselves unintentionally. And sometimes the biggest surprise you can have from a Uranus transit, there can be suddenly realizing the ways in which we're limiting or undermining ourself and figuring out new and innovative ways to change that.
A
Definitely. Yeah, that's a really good point. So this is a long term transit. It's a seven year transit, approximately where we've only got a little dip of it in the second half of 2025. So this isn't all gonna happen at once. It'll be at different points in an ongoing way.
B
Definitely. All right, so let's move on to our next transit, which is Jupiter's gonna spend the first half of the year in the sign of cancer, which is your first house and your rising sign of self, mind and body. But then starting in late June, Jupiter's gonna transit into the sign of leo, which is your second house of money, finances and possessions. Jupiter transits are usually about growth and expansion and opportunities. Especially if you were born with a day chart, this will tend to be a very positive transit in the first half of the year for expanding your sense of self. Sometimes it can be a period of improving your health or your body or your physical appearance. But in the second half of the year, it really shifts towards expanding things from a financial perspective and having some potentially windfalls or good opportunities to increase your income.
A
Definitely, yeah. Jupiter going through your first house can expand your sense of self. It can also make you more generous or more laid back temporarily than you usually are. And it's just sort of a positive overall transit for you. And then as it goes into your second house, yeah, it can expand your income. It can be a good time to ask for a raise if you're in a position to do that. And it can expand your financial acuity. So working on financial management in new ways can pay off well for you even after the transit is over.
B
Definitely, definitely. So that's one of the most positive transits of the year, especially for the day chart people. And it's actually gonna peak in June because there's gonna Be a Venus Jupiter conjunction in the sign of cancer in your rising sign in June. That looks extremely auspicious and very positive. So we came across that transit because we actually just finished researching and released our 2026 electional astrology report where we went through and we looked at the best dates to launch new ventures and undertakings next year using the principles of electional astrology. And we completed a full report that we just released for sale on our website if you want to learn some of those dates for accomplishing things next year.
A
Yeah, so basically taking important actions or starting new ventures at the dates and times that we give will give you the best possible results or the best chances of success for the things that you're launching at that time. And so we provided at least two charts for every month and sometimes some bonus charts so you can use them for lots of different topics in your lifelovel life, business, etc.
B
Definitely. So we give a forecast for each month that's very detailed as well. And we also tell you not just what dates to do things, but also what dates to avoid, because sometimes that's just as important when it comes to electional astrology is knowing that there's going to be a Mercury retrograde or there's going to be a hard Mars aspect or what have you. We have over 28 auspicious charts, plus tutorials as part of our report, which includes a video, audio and written version of the report. And you can use it for business, love, life, or pretty much any major life event next year. So we're running a sale on it for the first month where it's just $49.95, but only until. And then the regular price will go up to $65. So you can get that now@theastrologypodcast.com 2026report. All right, so let's get into the second half of the year where our next major transit is the second eclipse season takes place in August and early September where there's gonna be an eclipse in Leo and then another eclipse in Pisces. And this is taking place in your second house of finances, again bringing up the financial sector of the chart as well as your ninth house of religion, beliefs and foreign travel.
A
Yeah, so this will be the first eclipse in Leo that we've had. So that'll bring beginnings and endings with regard to second house topics. So personal income and finances. Again, so it's a really nice overlap where we have Jupiter already transiting your house of those topics, bringing expansive energy compared to usual and Then this will add another little wildcard of some sort of beginning or ending with regard to either the way you make a living. That could be literally a new job, that could be a raise, that could be a new idea about how to make money down the road. Any of those sorts of things.
B
Yeah. So major beginnings and major endings for financial matters. Sometimes this can be a new chapter at work, and sometimes it could be like a disruption at work or a disruption to your income, where there's something that has to end at that time. But then each ending can be an opportunity for a new beginning. So there may be one door that closes, but another that opens in terms of whether it's a work thing or whether it's just your financial outlook in general. And what's important about it is to pay attention to things that start or that you begin around this time. Because sometimes around eclipses, we lay the seeds for things that will grow and develop in the future, but they start out very subtly and very in small increments at first, so that we don't always realize the significance of the new beginning that starts under an eclipse until years later.
A
Definitely. Yeah. Especially since this is gonna be the first one in that series. And then we have the other eclipse in your ninth house. And that's kind of a bookend, like an endpoint of all the activity that's been going on with regard to belief systems or higher education, or long distance travel, things of that nature. Because you've had Saturn and Neptune transiting there for quite a while, Saturn, for the last few years. And this is basically the last eclipse in a series of Pisces eclipses in that same area for you. So there's some sort of end cap going on of the last major beginning or ending with regard to one of those topics or one or more of those topics.
B
Yeah, there's been some major changes when it comes to your beliefs, your education, and your outlook on the world over the past few years, especially since Saturn was transiting, sitting through that sign since March of 2023. And that entire process of whatever changes and restructuring you've been going through with respect to your beliefs and your knowledge and wisdom about the world is coming to some sort of completion at this point where you end one chapter and then you begin the next chapter from here on out, since that's the last eclipse that will take place in that series. So it's a great one to bring something to completion. Some people, I'm sure, will graduate or finish some form of education or some educational program that they've been doing for a while, while others will finish one, but then start the other for maybe the final push into completing their education or their knowledge of some specific area of activity.
A
Yeah.
B
All right, so that's Eclipse Season 2. The next major thing that happens is a Venus retrograde in the signs of Scorpio and Libra. From October through November, that's gonna take place in your fifth house of children and hobbies and games back into your fourth house of home and family and living situation and parents. So this is a significant Venus retrograde that's going to take place during this time.
A
Mm. So Venus retrograde can bring up people coming back into your life more than usual. It can also be just reworking your connections. And in this case, it would be things involving fifth house topics, like your children, if you have children, or things involving creative pursuits or hobbies that you do, especially artistic pursuits. I would say with Venus and then going back into your fourth house, it's home, family, parents, or ancestry where you come from private life. So there's some sort of reworking, especially interpersonal connections along those two topics.
B
Yeah. So sometimes it can be people from your past come back into the present. Since this is a Venus retrograde in your fifth house, that could be a romantic thing, like some sort of romantic connection from the past comes back into the present, and you have a question of whether to resume having some sort of romantic connection with somebody versus whether it's just a reminder, but something that you choose not to get back together with. Sometimes because it's crossing two houses, it will connect and overlap the topic of those two houses. So it could be like a romantic person that comes back into your life from the past that you then end up living with again for a period of time during the retrograde. For example, since it's going back into your fourth house of home and living situation situation. In other instances, it could connect the topics of children, which is the fifth house, and parents, which is the fourth house. So maybe some sort of thing involving the relationship between your children, if you have any, and your parents, or other.
A
Combinations like that, or children and living situations, either theirs or yours are combined.
B
Yeah, exactly. So for the people born at night, this is gonna be a more positive transit in these two areas. Whereas for people born during the day, you might see some of the more challenging things come up with this for a period of time or just have it be notable, but not that significant. But for the night chart people, I think this is gonna be the most positive transit of the year.
A
Yeah.
B
Yep. All right. So that's the Venus retrograde. That brings us to our final transit of the year, which is Mars, towards the end of 2026, starts heading into a Mars retrograde period that isn't going to begin fully until January. But we get the build up to that between September and December when Mars starts moving through the signs of Leo in Virgo, which are the two signs that it's going to go retrograde in, in early 2027. And as a result of that, Mars is going to spend an extended amount of time in your second house of finances and your third house of communication over the next several months, starting in September through December and then intensifying in early 2027.
A
Mm, yeah. So you can see there's a lot of activity going on in your second house of personal income and finances, especially in the second half of the year. So we have the Jupiter transit, which is expansive. We have the eclipse, which is beginnings and endings. And now we have Mars getting ready to retrograde there. So it's already slowing down in the last quarter of 2026, even though it doesn't retrograde until January of 2027. But it's already slowing down. So it's already spending longer time in the area of income and personal finances and possessions and then in the third house of siblings and extended relatives, your neighborhood or immediate. Your neighbors or immediate neighborhood and communications. And yeah, so there's some sort of like longer term effort you're going to be putting into those topics for some reason or another that will extend into the first half of 2027, but begins now. So you can see if you pay attention during the last quarter of the year what's starting to come up in these areas of life for you. And those will be the areas where you're going to put a lot more effort than usual for some reason into those topics and can be an area where you start to put effort into those topics in the last quarter of this year and then you'll need to rework some of it and then finish it up in 2027.
B
Right, that makes sense. Like something that you think is finished, but then it comes back and you have to return to it early in 2027. And for some people, as you said, especially like the night chart people, this is probably going to be more constructive and it could be something linking second house topics of finances with third house topics like siblings. Like perhaps you work on a project with a sibling or a relative or a neighbor that's financially related to make more money and you end up having to Expend a lot of energy to that, but it ends up being a productive thing, especially for the night chart people, for the day chart people. I think there's a potential for this to be a little bit more challenging where earlier in the year we had the really positive Jupiter transit in the second house, which is still ongoing at this point and indicating growth and positive things regarding finances. But the Mars transit brings a potential for more challenging things, which could be acting too boldly or taking risks and potentially having a setback at this time. It could also mean having a loss or especially if you're not careful or if you're involved with an unscrupulous character. That could be somebody that causes issues for you financially at this time, especially in connection with your third house of siblings, neighbors or extended relatives.
A
Yeah, or it could even be something like you start a new business venture, freelance thing or whatnot, but then you incur unexpected expenses before it evens out later on.
B
Right. Or the third house is also like short distance travel. So it could be like your car breaks down and then it costs you a lot to get it repaired or something like that because it goes back into the second house of finances. Another thing to be careful about with Mars transits in the third house is that sometimes we can communicate more brusquely or be a little bit more quick to anger than usual. So you want to be careful about your communication style and make sure you don't see anything in the heat of the moment that you could regret later. Especially because it could then impact you financially when it goes back into your second house.
A
Definitely. Yeah.
B
Yeah. So those are the main transits, I think, for this year.
A
Yeah, yeah, I think that that's pretty much the big picture overview for you.
B
Okay, brilliant. Well, that's it for this forecast then for 2027. So thanks a lot for watching. You know, 2026. 2027. We got a little bit into 2027, but as we said, if you want to. In this episode, astrologers Chris Brennan and Leisa Schaim present a comprehensive horoscope forecast for Cancer rising (and Cancer sun) for 2026. The discussion covers major planetary transits, eclipse seasons, retrogrades, and their implications for various life areas including career, finances, education, relationships, and personal development. The tone is practical and supportive, offering both warnings and encouragement for listeners navigating the year ahead.
On Saturn-Neptune:
“You're basically blending the energies of imagination or dreams, aspirations, idealism, and reality concrete. What can you make real of those dreams?” – Leisa (03:20)
On the unfolding year:
“You can see there's a lot of activity going on in your second house of personal income and finances, especially in the second half of the year.” – Leisa (18:48)
2026 brings significant changes and opportunities for Cancer risings—especially in career, finances, self-growth, and relationships. The year features periods of ambiguity and adjustment (notably early in career matters), but also expansion and new beginnings, particularly around the June Jupiter-Venus conjunction and the eclipses. Listeners are encouraged to be mindful of endings as precursors to new possibilities, and to approach challenges with adaptability and a long-term view, especially as some cycles will carry over into 2027.
For detailed timing and electional guidance, Chris and Leisa recommend consulting their 2026 Electional Astrology Report.
