As chair of the Diocese of Dallas Sacred Places Commission, Father Jason helps parishes evaluate church renovations, new construction, altars, ambos, tabernacles, seating, and the practical movement required for worship, funerals, and the sacraments. He explains why church architecture must account for beauty, harmony, accessibility, parish culture, and, most importantly, the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

The conversation moves from brutalist architecture and steep sanctuary floors to altar rails, Eucharistic chapels, sacred art, and the growing desire among parishes to return the tabernacle to a central place behind the altar. Father Jason then shares the remarkable story of his vocation. After falling away from the faith, rediscovering Jesus through Protestant Bible studies, and encountering the Catholic teaching on the Eucharist during a frat party, he repeatedly heard the invitation, “Jason, be my priest.” While studying meteorology at Texas A&M, he told God that a scientist could not become a priest. At that exact moment, a Catholic priest with a meteorology degree walked into his classroom. Father Jason’s story is a powerful reminder that God speaks personally, persistently, and sometimes with a sense of humor when calling each person to a unique mission.
