Yeah, yeah. You know I played baseball for most of my life, so that's been my love, you know, that's what I focus on all growing up. So while most of my friends were out chasing women, I was playing baseball.

Yeah, I had one serious girlfriend senior year of high school. But before that it was just like normal school relationships, you know, nothing serious.

Well, yeah, pretty much that one girl and that was it. You know, like all my friends come to me for advice because I'm more of the type to sit back and watch our other people react and then be able to help with that. But rather than implementing it myself, I can't do that. So.

So what happens normally? Let's say we are at Havana Club now, right? And you're in the lounge by yourself or with a couple of dudes and there's a hottie across the bar, okay. And she sort of gives you that.

Just the look, you know, it's just.

I check my shirt to make sure I don't have a stain on it because that's probably why she's looking at me. What is he wearing? You know, I'm checking him like so on the wall. No, not a whole lot.

Like, I've seen you in clubs and I've seen you in bars when Dolvette walks into a place. This is one of the things about Dolvett that I really admire. Like, all eyes on Dolvett. He just has an attitude and a charisma and he's a good looking guy.

So I paid him so much money

We joke that if we go out in Atlanta, I'm Vince from Entourage, but if we go out anywhere else, all eyes are on Dolvett and I don't get any attention at all all night long.

Well, he's a confident guy.

Well, this is what I want to ask, like, does the confidence. Does the game and the confidence come because he's a good looking guy or would he, would he have that if he was an average looking dude?

[Jen]

I think it comes from inside. I think confidence, regardless of what's on the outside. I mean, Dolvett is a really good looking guy and he takes good care of himself. But. But I think it's from the inside out is where confidence comes from.

[Jessica]

I think good looking people have an edge. I do agree with Jen. I do think average looking people probably have to build that a little more than good looking people. I think naturally good looking People, they get a point, they have an edge because they get attention even without doing anything.

I've seen, I've seen this, like really good looking dudes have zero games, stumbling all over themselves, acting stupid, and still end up with the girl at the end of the night because they're hot.

[Jessica]

But then they may not keep her, you know, or, you know, like it can only take them so far. But I do think, you know, are insecure.

[Yvette]

I mean, first and foremost, make no mistake about it, because they, they're looking at themselves all the time, so to speak, like, trying to find that perfect.

[Yvette]

Yeah.

I do want to commend you. I do think it takes a little confidence to come forward and be honest. Like, I think there's so many guys that would have never come on and said, you know what? I've been with one girl, you know, seriously, I haven't really dated outside of that. And I just want to, I want help. So many guys would have never said that. So I do think that you have that seat of confidence that we can build on.

I don't know. Like, for me, like, I go, how you doing? That's. And I see. But mostly it's just the fact that you say, how you doing? I'm from New York. That's how I like. Then the attention turns to the fact that you say, how you doing? Weird.

But that's good, though. I mean, that sparks conversation right away, even if you say it different.

It doesn't matter how you say it. It just sparks some sort of interest in who you are. And she's gonna get to know you that way.

First thing you say, just introduce yourself. Say, hi, I'm Brandon. Just say your name that way, it automatically. That's the first thing you say, you know? I mean, you're not. You're not, hi, how you doing? And then waiting for her to say something, she might say, I'm fine, and walk away. You say, brandon. Now, you identified yourself. You're hoping that she's gonna respond by saying her name. Now Brandon meets Wendy. And now Wendy and Brandon have a relation or a conversation about the spark.

You know, it's so simple, but it's so true.

And you don't have a name that you have to hide from. Like, I used to, like, make up another name because I didn't want to say, hi, I'm Burt. I used to have to say, like, hi, I'm Ian. Are you serious?

I want to ask Yvette a question about Brandon, too, because now Brandon, you know, I have been at events with him that I've hosted in social events in which he's not trying to approach women. You just said It. The key is don't try. Don't try so hard when it comes to. I have to, you know, just be yourself. You have all the tools, obviously. You know what I mean? Just. Just be yourself.

Well, for me, at events, it's just like a switch goes on. Because my philosophy going in events, like, half these people I'll never see again. Most of these people I'll never see again, so what do I care what they think about me?

Here's the thing that will happen when you go out with Dol, and I'm serious about this, is that you're forced in a conversation with women. Because, honestly, I'm speaking for him, so he doesn't sound arrogant. So many women come up to him that if you don't engage with them when they come up, you look like an idiot, so. Which will be great for you, because you'll be forced in the conversation from his leftovers, which is fine. You want to practice on the leftovers, man, the runoff. That's where you want to be.

The one thing he is saying here, which I think is true, is when a guy like Dolvett approaches you and you're already physically attracted to the guy, it is way easier for Dolvett than if it's going to be for somebody that's not Dolvett. If I was single, it's gonna be different.

I disagree. I disagree from the perspective of. Cause you don't know what Jen said.

You don't know what it's like to be ugly.

[Yvette]

Don't judge me if you have confidence, honestly, no matter how you look or I don't think it's about looks' cause I know guys that aren't the most handsome guys or women that aren't the most beautiful to look at aesthetically. But that confidence goes so far. You make me believe what you believe in based on what comes out of your spirit.

Yes. Seriously, I with that. Absolutely.

And all women are approachable. For him to say, you can't approach a woman, any guy who approaches you in general is confident guy, because that takes a lot of guts just to start a conversation. So, yeah, no matter what.

And if you go to a woman and say, hey, my name is Brandon. No woman's going to be offended by that. Especially in a bar. No woman's going to be offended. I'm being approached because that's one of the reasons she's there.

We're trying to help single girls, like, learn some things. Right. So if you're going to be in an approachable, like, manageable group where guys are going to come over and talk to you, what's that number?

Well, if you're in a group of girls that's got, you know, there's eight or nine of you at a birthday party or whatever, that's going to be a challenge. And no guy is going to, I mean, well, most guys aren't going to have the guts to come up to a group that big and they protect each other and starts, you know, running game on somebody right in front of all of her friends. Because if he fails and he's, you know, he looks like a total chump in front of her and, you know, a whole host of people.

Your trainer's right. He's holding up fingers. He's nailed it. It's three.

Because what happens with three is very simple, is three women. You have two that can talk to each other. If you're interested in one.

All right, so the advice here, even if you're out in a big group though, a group of eight women, what you're saying is if a group of three of just want to separate a little bit and go to a little table, one of those stand up tables by themselves, they may get way more attention than that than if they do hang with the girl.

I have a question. My ex told me that, well, in our relationship, I was actually the most. The more aggressive one with. When it came to sex. And he told me that that guys are actually put off by girls who. Who are sexually aggressive, who are

Oh, put off by what? He was put off by you being sexually aggressive.

And I was just. I was stunned. I was like, so you don't want

sex, so let's define this. So you wanted it more than he did, and he was telling you that that's sort of crazy that guys are turned off by that.

Yes. That if I was single, that I wouldn't. That I wouldn't have a response to guys or guys wouldn't have responded to me because I am a little bit more aggressive than most, I guess.

I think, and this is the weird part about that, is that you kind of look a little bit deeper into what that means. Like, what. What that conversation sounded like. Because what it sounds like to me is maybe he didn't really like you being too aggressive. And maybe either he was insecure about it and can't handle that aggressiveness, or he didn't. No offense, didn't like what you were doing, and it was too aggressive for him because maybe there was some physical. You know, maybe it was a little harder, something that he liked. Maybe it was a little tougher. And, you know, I think that's a little more unique than you being aggressive. There are guys out there that are like that.

[Burt]

We've talked to guys on. On the show before that we've had to put on the voice disguiser that said that they couldn't keep up with their girlfriends. And it's embarrassing as a guy because, I mean, that's what you're. I mean, that's what your manliness is based on right there. So you could see that if a guy couldn't keep up with his girlfriend, how he tried to play that mind game with her and tell her that, you know what? Most guys don't even like that.

Yeah, tell me about it, Brian? Well, I mean, guys, just by nature. Well, by my nature is to go out. And, I mean, Olvette and I have talked about this, you know, and I've always said that, you know, men are as singular, as faithful as their opportunities. You know, in a city like Atlanta, there are hundreds of thousands of single people that are very attractive. And so, you know, when you have that coming at you all day long, every day, everywhere you go, especially if you live inside the perimeter or wherever, you know, it's. You've got a lot of options. And if you're out and about in the scene a lot, you know, it's. You like that. You like that hunt. You like that thrill of chasing someone. And once, I mean, it's just like anything else. Once you know you've got them, you don't want them anymore.

[Jen]

So what does that. What does that mean for single girls? Because remember, this whole panel is to, like, help single women in the dating world. So what does that mean for them? Be less available? In what way does that translate for a single girl?

[Brian Duke]

Men. Men want what they can't have. I mean, and once that thrill, once that chase is over, in a lot of cases, then it's done.

[Burt]

And so define that. Then what does that mean? Don't call back within three days. What does that mean? Chasing means what?

[Dolvette]

Well, I think what. What he's. What he's trying to say. Don't talk about it. If you talk about it, girls that all of a sudden, like, if I go out on a date with a girl on the second she says, look, you know, I'm not going to sleep with you tonight. The second she says that, it tells me she's either bought into my reputation.

[Brian Duke]

Absolutely.

[Dolvette]

Or she's. Or she's. Or she's just on guard. And all that tells me is, wow, this is only going to take two hours.

Exactly.

That night I will hit. Because you said that if she says

it's a welcome mat. It's like, oh, this is way too hard. Anytime, you know, everybody warns a girl, don't go near him, don't go near him. So what I'm telling girls, since we're trying to help, what you need to do is when you go out with a guy, guy don't talk about it. There's nothing wrong with having a nice date. When you, when you end the date, give him a nice kiss, but get out of the car. It's going to drive him nuts. Then when you go out again, make him earn it. It's got to be a first base, second base, third base. And I wouldn't give up the home run for a couple months. Any girl that's ever played me like that one girl did that for me for six months. I was into her like a freight train.

Well, I mean, I think that, you know, and there's a multitude and there's so many beautiful women in Atlanta. So I think there is a certain intimidation that goes along with being really, really hot. And you know who you are. If you're like completely smoking, you're an absolute 10 and so. But as soon as men come to terms with the fact that there's a lot of insecur that go along with women that are generally that hot, then you know, there's, there's some way to pick it apart and there's some way to manipulate the situation into your favor.

So is it as a general rule, are you saying to yourself that the hotter they are, the more insecure they are?

[Brian Duke]

Not necessarily. But I mean, it happens.

You're saying that general, broad term, yeah.

Generally, I would say, yeah. You got to keep that up. You know, you get compliments, compliments, compliments. After a while, you're like, okay, I got to keep this.

you know, I'm done kind of a thing. You gotta be really centered.

But you can pick that out too. I mean, you can sense that as you see a girl, she's standing there and she's way too focused on how good she looks and she's really, really

pretty, or she's criticizing everyone else in the room. That's a highlight of. Okay, you're too much on the left side. You need to.

Yeah. Don't come across that high maintenance. Nobody wants to deal with that.

I want to know, how can a single girl recognize who's a player and who's maybe there for a relationship? Because I think a lot of single girls out there are eventually looking for a relationship, and a lot of single guys out there are looking to get some. So how is she able to determine who you are?

I have something to say about that. Because. Here's the thing. I think all guys, in a sense, will be players if they could be. If they could be players. If every guy could be a player, they would do it for a short amount of time for whatever, until they find that one person that makes them not be a player.

Exactly.

So it's like, you know, sometimes you live your whole, you know, a year, two years, three years as a player, and then you find that one, and then, boom, you can be done being a player. Sometimes it's about. It's about the game. It's about having fun and playing that. And then once you find that person, though, you can trip, fall, and then. And then you're done. And then a player thing is over. So for a girl to sense whether the guy's a player or not, if he's out and dating, he's probably a player.

[Brian Duke]

Right.

[Dutch]

For that amount of time, like he is, he's doubt he's out dating. He's looking for somebody either to hook up or to hook up with for a period of time. And then if it works out, then cool, then he'll eventually sway into relationship land.

Aren't there some dudes out there that are single right now that are looking to be in relationships rather than just be out there? I mean, because I think most guys that are in clubs are probably just there to hook up. Right. You're not looking for relationships, but aren't There some guys that are like that, or should you just assume all guys just trying to get.

[Brian Duke]

Well, I mean, there's a reason if you're attracted to some guy, if he's got a great personality, he's a lot of fun, if he's good looking, then I mean, you're attracted to him for some specific reason. Well, there's a lot of other people that are attracted to him for the same reason. And he's probably going to leverage that and take advantage of.

And guys give off a vibe too, man, if they're just totally trendy. If a guy. I mean, I like Mark Nason boots. I wear them, but I don't wear the tacky ones. But when you see these guys out there with that square toe, that's like making it like they got a size 15 shoe, but they got a size 4, you know, or they're, they're, you know, And I think all of us, I'm looking, we're all fit, we live in the gym. But there are guys that give those signs. Yeah, there you go. But, you know, steer clear of the douchebags. I mean, you know, it's what you're into. If you see the Ed Hardy stuff like that. There are certain affliction shirts I will wear, but they don't have purple and they don't have little sequins on them.

But a lot of rules.

How about a nice suit?

But I'm telling you can watch how guys are dressed and how they carry themselves to whether or not they're just out for the hit.

And I do disagree. I think guys can be monogamous. I'm not a cheater. I've never cheated in a relationship, but if I'm not in one, there are no rules. Dating is dating. Girls have got to figure out. You've got to know this. When you're dating a guy, he has every right to date somebody else because it's all about figuring out who's the one. And if I'm going out with four girls, it does not mean I'm a bad guy. It means I'm at different stages. I'm testing it out. I'm seeing who I like. And I might pick the last one I started dating.

It takes, you know what it does? It takes the pressure off. Because if I'm going out with you and I know you're dating other guys and I'm like, she's not going to go heavy at me at first. It gives me time to figure out if I even like you. If I decide I do like you, then I'm confident in who I am, that you're going to figure out that I'm the better guy for you and you're going to let the others go. But until I figure it out, it allows this thing to be very relaxed. Girls, you need to be dating more than one person in the Beginning.

I think women have a hard time with that because they feel like if they don't say something about it, then they're doing something sort of disloyal or dishonest or whatever.

Please let me give this advice. As a guy that's been married for 13 years, let me give this advice to the single population of Atlanta when you know it's not gonna work anymore. Get the hell out of quick. Because there is no. There is no use in saying in a relationship that's not going to be long term for you. This is a city filled with 5 million people, hundreds of thousands of single people. You're going to be married eventually. Go out and date now. Now do it. Don't stay in a relationship. That's not going to work. No, absolutely.

Well, it says that, you know, if you do wind up having sex with this person, first of all, you're gonna feel guilty for stealing her virginity. If you don't have intentions of carrying it through, you know, to the finale.

Of getting married. And secondly, if you do have sex with her, then she's gonna be very clingy. She's gonna be emotionally attached to you forever. That's just the guy's mentality.

And this literally was two years ago. And they got circulated around to the point where before the holidays, I got a call back from somebody who wanted to start talking about those ideas. And wanted me to come out for meetings and to meet some people this past weekend. So that's why I was in la. And I arrived Thursday night, checked into the hotel. Everything was cool. It was like I said, running into all those superstars was definitely a high. I mean, they put us up at the right hotel, so that was cool. So you're feeling a little Ari Gold, feeling a little entourage staying at that hotel. Definitely underdressed. And Friday, I was oddly at ease. Everything was gonna happen on Friday and they also told me to keep Saturday clear. It turns out we didn't need it, but everything was going to happen on Friday.

[Burt]

Is that a bad sign that you didn't need Saturday also, like, on the air? We're on the air.

[Kyle]

Oh, no, it's okay. So Friday, I thought Thursday night, like I would be really sick and go to bed early and like stressed and whatever. And for whatever reason, I think it's because when we talked about it on Wednesday, when I said out loud, I don't care what happens, just this experience is really cool. And as the experience was happening, it was really cool, like it didn't matter. It would have been great, however it turned out. So we went out Thursday night, Jessica and I did, had dinner, came back to the hotel, hung out in the lobby for a little while and watched the People show. And Friday morning rolls around, I went for a walk with Jessica and we found a breakfast place. And then she went off shopping and I went back. And this guy comes to the hotel

this is not the guy that I've been talking with and emailing and calling. This is a guy who works with him and he basically explains the whole process. And I had it a little bit twisted before I went there, but they have to be very careful in terms of creative and writing and development because there's so many unions and so many people who protect people that they can't really do anything official in terms of creating a show until all these T's have been crossed and I's have been dotted. Even to have conversations about potential ideas. If something came out of that and there was a non union writer in there who helped create it, then the union could get mad that the non union writer was involved in the process and it becomes this big, huge ordeal. So he says there might be times when we're hanging out, talking today where things, things stop. I was like, okay, cool. So we had a cool.

[Jessica]

It's a lot of politics involved, a lot of politics.

[Kyle]

We had a cool hour and then we go to this all Glass building. Walk into a room with.

[Jessica]

What is it about an all glass building that makes it seem like it's more corporate or more official, fancy, contemporary.

[Burt]

There must be something.

[Kyle]

And went there, you know, in a town car. Like he. It started, he goes, I'll meet you at the hotel. So we had a little conversation there. Town car down to all glass building. It's exactly as you would imagine, a Hollywood meeting room. Ari Gold, Entourage, you know, so you

[Burt]

can see the city of LA around you and stuff.

[Jessica]

Is it a big like 24 seat conference table and you're at the very

[Kyle]

end of it, there was. You walk in, you walk. You get off the elevator into, you know, the lobby. And then there's the far too attractive receptionist with the little bluetooth in. You know what I mean? Like very.

[Burt]

Just future actresses, not receptionists.

[Dolvette]

Right.

[Kyle]

I mean, I almost, if we had bigger budgets, would say that somebody was Jack, like somebody in this. Because then there was the gay guy, assistant, little flitting around. It was just like entourage, everybody talking on their bluetooths. It was really like stereotypical. I'm like somebody's jacking with me. But then off to the side there was like the conference room. Off to the right side, there was a conference room that did look over. I want to say it's Culver City. I don't know LA enough, but now it wasn't downtown la, but I think it was Culver City. Off to one side and then to the right you go down halls and it's all very glass wall, like big city, Louisiana law type things where everybody's office has a big glass window.

[Jessica]

Were there pictures of like shows that they've developed before? No.

[Kyle]

Very stark.

[Jessica]

Really?

[Kyle]

Okay, yes. And then I started to get. That started to weird me out because I'm dressed jeans, shirt, blazer, hillbilly.

[Jessica]

No, I'm just kidding.

[Kyle]

Yeah, totally. I'm the kid who's there. And everybody else seriously is doing the, I'm guessing Armani or Prada suit, white shirt underneath, no tie, Bluetooth in, two BlackBerries on their belt. And I'm like, dum da dum da dum da dum. So I started to get intimidated by the physical presence of where I was. Until we turn the corner and I meet the guy that I'm in email with and talking with. And he was wearing jeans, like a vintage looking T shirt thing. He had a ball cap, turn around backwards. I'm guessing he was five years younger than I was and his office was full. Like he had those. They're not Beanbags, love sack chairs, like those big things. Like those are awesome. In the corner of his office he had, I mean, it was totally. And he, you know, come on. He had a table in his office. He just finished breakfast, like from McDonald's, which, this is funny, it was a McDonald's, like egg sandwich thing, whatever, but it was on a ceramic plate.

[Lady Luck]

That's fantastic.

[Kyle]

So my guess is, or maybe it was Burger King. It was some fast food sandwich on a biscuit with like little tater tot looking hash brown things.

[Jessica]

They took it out of the bag and put it on a fancy plate for him.

[Kyle]

Yes. And there was a knife and fork there, unused. But I just thought of how LA that is to have.

[Burt]

Yes, it's la.

[Kyle]

So during the morning we just. He went over the process again and he just said, look, all I want to do is talk to you about your ideas. He says, this is the deal. He goes, I want to bring new shows to production in Los Angeles. He goes, there's a lot of creative people. There's a lot of people that I currently work with. There's a lot of stuff happening in la. The problem is, for as big of a city as it is and for everybody who comes from everywhere else, it's a vacuum. And it's the same ideas that just spin around there, you know, a hundred times. And he goes, I'm just looking to bring new people in, right. So I just want to talk to you and get a vibe for you. I like the stuff that you wrote. He goes, I want to know about you.

[Burt]

You, you want to hear one on one at this point.

[Brandon]

Uhhuh.

[Kyle]

There's people in and out. Like they're really.

[Jessica]

That's so cool though.

[Kyle]

There, there is. I always thought, for whatever reason on the West Wing, it was cool when the little assistant would bring the president of a piece of paper and then he would read it and either set it down or act on it. Like that was happening during this conversation. People were bringing stuff in to this guy. He's a development guy. That's what he does. He does have a bunch of shows under his belt. Some I recognize, some I didn't most, some reality type stuff that he, he's worked with.

[Burt]

Did he like any one of your shows more than the others?

[Kyle]

We were not even talking about specific ideas. He just wants to know about me, about what I do, about how I came about it. So we have this thing, you know, this conversation, everything's cool. And then he says, all right, go have lunch. Then when you come back, I'M gonna put you in a room with some creative people. And so they had lunch for us at the Ivy.

[Burt]

Nice.

[Kyle]

I got to meet Jessica. Which he goes, this is totally cheesy and everybody from LA is gonna make fun of you for it. But you, you mentioned that you hadn't had lunch at the Ivy. I've got a table for you at the Ivy.

[Lady Luck]

That's awesome.

[Burt]

It's the place where all the paparazzi and all the celebrities go to be seen.

[Kyle]

And funny thing about that is I saw Nene from Real Housewives. I was the only celebrity there.

[Burt]

Can't get away from Atlanta.

[Kyle]

So that was the lunch. And then after lunch, we went back and he just introduced me to people on his creative team. And that's when we specifically went through the shows. And we just had conversations about all of the shows and we had conversations about the specifics and lots of conversations about as we would flesh out an idea. We spent more time on one of the shows than any other. So as we talked about the idea and expanded upon the story, he wanted to know who they wanted to know who certain people were based on. Like, is this based on a real person? Is this a blending of real people they talked about? Because I brought up the. I have a show that's kind of loosely based on our radio show or an idea based on that. And he said, those are really great ideas. And he pointed a list of ideas that I had and it was like 26 ideas, 25 ideas. And this was kind of shocking. He goes, you look at that list and you think you've got 25 shows. He goes, we would have to put. Put three or four of those ideas in each show. You've just written a third of a season, really. So I'm like, look at this. A whole season of shows.

Easy.

[Kyle]

And this was only from off the top of my head. He's like, and by the time we get done with it, we'll only keep 20% of what that is. He said, so there's a lot. He goes, there's a lot more that goes into it than that. So we had meetings all afternoon and just talked about the creative process and in creating the shows. And it ended with him. The guy that I've been meeting with, the development guy, the president of the company, comes back in at the end. I don't know where he was going, but he was completely dressed differently.

Like, no.

[Kyle]

More casual guy. Full on.

[Burt]

Like meeting a studio head or something.

[Kyle]

Yes. Like, totally different dude. Almost to the point where I didn't Recognize him. And he came in and all the guys that I was meeting with and the girl, one guy, they in front of me were very complimentary about my ideas and about my input and how they were excited to work with me. A couple of them have followed up with emails to me. But the decision is ultimately this dude's.

[Lady Luck]

Oh, wow.

[Burt]

So what's the next step in the whole thing?

[Kyle]

He's gonna call you, I guess.

[Jessica]

I can't imagine all this effort and money spent and something not coming from it. You know what I mean?

[Burt]

Yeah.

They must have been somewhat serious about they saw something in you to bring you on out to la.

[Jessica]

That's awesome.

[Kyle]

So it was a cool. He may have just been trying to invigorate, you know, I went through all the scenarios. What if he's just trying to invigorate the people he works with or threaten them and show them that there are other creative people out there, this, that or whatever. But the end of the meeting was like a handshake and then I asked him about tomorrow and they were like, nah, I want to give. He goes, tomorrow is only if today didn't go well.

[Burt]

Oh, really?

[Kyle]

That's some good for you.

[Lady Luck]

That's great.

[Jessica]

Well, I guess it's also a sign of patience because you talked about how now it took a couple years to get to this point, so we'll see how long. But surely something's gonna come from this.

[Kyle]

Yeah. So it was, I mean it was stereotypical and intimidating and the creative process in LA is so much different than what we do here, but also slower.

[Burt]

Is that right?

[Kyle]

But also that's not possible. So many similarities.

[Burt]

That's just not possible.

[Kyle]

And it was just, it was a cool, it was a totally cool experience. Experience. And now I'm back into the hurry up and wait mode again.

[Jessica]
