We should never talk to them ever again. But you won't allow it. You keep emailing, asking how they're doing. So here is Barbara. Barbara, tell us everything's okay.

Everything is really great in real life. It almost seems like it's a dream.

No kidding. Tell us what's been going on.

Well, I mean, I haven't talked to him in a few days because he is out on a mission. So just to hear his voice when y' all played it back was kind of, kind of nice. But we are planning on, you know, he comes home actually at the very, very end of July, and he takes a leave in August, which I'm also shooting for. And we're planning the trip to Europe. Little vacation.

[Host Dylan]

Excellent.

[Caller/Guest]

Yes. So, you know, until the end of the year when he's facing out in Seattle, I'll be, you know, making trips out there so I can see him as often as possible until he comes down to Georgia, which will be in March.

[Host Greg]

Okay.

[Host Chris]

He's right. His military relationships are tough, man. Sort of like in them, and then you got to jump start them. That's got to be a little difficult.

[Caller/Guest]

Yeah. But coming from an army family, I feel like my mom in this situation. So it's actually helped us out a lot because she can. Well, I can relate to her and she's able to talk to me about it and everything like that because my father was also army and was also a drill sergeant, everything like that. So she went through the same thing that I'm going through now.

[Host Chris]

If I remember correctly, like, you guys sort of like dabbled in a relationship years ago and then it sort of went away. Did you always sort of like, I guess I'm trying to get at women's intuition here. Did you always sort of know in the pit of your stomach or your heart that this was the guy?

[Caller/Guest]

I always knew there was something there, but I mean, I didn't have any way of contacting him. I mean, I thought he was just long gone once we lost touch once he got deployed. And I talked to some of his friends here and there, and they just said, you know, he's at this place or this place and he's doing well or, you know, he was pretty much always. He always had somebody. And I mean, I, you know, dated as well, but I always wanted to know what happened to him. And so he considers me the girl that got away. But he wanted to find out exactly what was it that we had. And so we did.

[Host Chris]

We do have something. It's definitely the real deal. And we're definitely into talks of our future.

We have talked about it, yes. And actually, in some sort of weird way, he mentioned about rings, and he actually guessed my ring size one day when we were at the store, which I thought was really, really strange because I didn't even know my ring size. And he got it exactly right.

A lot of guys have proposed to

Yeah.

Your size. It's not even like that. He's never been engaged or married or anything like that. He doesn't have kids or anything.

Yeah. So I actually went to look at rings a couple weeks ago when my friend was in town, and that was really surreal because I've never done anything like that before.

When I'm watching tv, I cannot have the volume on an odd number. It has to be on an even number.

OCD thing.

Now, do you do that with stairs and stuff? Like that. That you can only climb up an even amount of stairs or what have you.

No, it's the TV show. Whenever I'm watching it, it has to be on an even number. Turn it up way too loud or down too low, just so it's on an even number.

I do similar, and I think I do it with more things, but when I always remember it is when I'm editing photos on my computer. Because as you adjust different levels, they're all represented digitally and they always have to be divisible by five. So if I'm adjusting something up, I can't adjust it, like 1.28. It has to be 1.25 or 1.30.

Or if it's a scale of 1 to 100, it's always 75 or 80. It's never like 77.

So even if I have just brushed my teeth, then I put on makeup, when I'm putting on eye makeup, I feel like I need to brush my teeth again. So I'll do it a second time.

Yeah, yeah, exactly. I actually read something which is Why I decided to do it, that it actually makes you a better mother and a better wife. So I just wanted to take those little moments to kind of just take a break and then come back and be even better at being a wife and mother. But I never did it. Like, I just never actually took that time for myself. So this past week, I kind of just decided that I'm just going to do it. I just really want to do something for myself. And I saw an ad for a car that was built. It was a beautiful car, and I decided I want to go buy it for myself this weekend.

[Host Greg]

Okay. What kind of car is it?

[Brandy]

It's a 2008 BMW convertible.

[Bretzky]

All right.

[Host Greg]

Okay.

[Host Chris]

All right. Mommy wants to ride in style right now.

[Host Dylan]

Is this something your family can. Is this something your family can afford?

[Brandy]

Yeah, it is, actually.

[Lauren]

Okay. All right.

[Brandy]

We live off of my husband's salary, and everything that I earn goes straight into the bank.

[Host Dylan]

Okay.

[Brandy]

So we actually have a subscription savings. And, I mean, technically, it's my money, so I want to spend it on something that I really, really want. And the minute I saw this car, I was like, I want that car really badly.

[Host Chris]

Now, as a side question here, how much money have you accumulated in that savings account by yourself?

[Brandy]

I mean, over $100,000.

[Host Chris]

And your husband has no idea you got 100 grand in there?

[Brandy]

No, he knows, but we just made an agreement that it was just gonna be savings for whatever. I mean, we're both pretty frugal. Like, we both don't really spend a lot of money. I mean, we just kind of like to have, like, a nest egg in the bank. But we have a lot. I mean, we have a lot. To the point where I don't. I feel. I feel pretty comfortable spending money, you know, a good chunk of it. I mean, we still have a good chunk left. And I just really, really want this car.

[Host Greg]

Okay, well, two things, you know. One, since you made the agreement on the money, I mean, I want to know if you made an agreement on exactly how much you're going to spend, like, for your kids, whatever. And secondly, does he have the opportunity. Since you say you live off his money, does he have an opportunity to splurge on things for himself as well?

[Brandy]

Yeah, I mean, he does. I mean, he goes out and buys little gadgets here and there. I mean, I never really say anything because he just gets so excited. And, you know, he does occasionally just buy certain things, like the computer for the house or, like, a new tool he's excited about. I just. I never get to do that? I never do.

[Bretzky]

Going big.

[Host Chris]

Yeah. Tool Here, tool there, versus a $50,000 BMW. Maybe a little different texture here.

[Host Dylan]

So have you talked to him about the car at all?

[Brandy]

No.

[Host Dylan]

Why not?

[Brandy]

I just feel like I just want to do it. I feel like he's going to talk me out of it and. Or try to anyway. And I just want to do this for myself. And I feel like if I just do it and I come back and I explain why I did it, that he will have less to argue with.

[Bretzky]

I get it.

[Host Chris]

There has to be some kind of history here with your husband where you think that he's gonna try to talk you out of it. Have you tried to make purchases for yourself before?

[Brandy]

Well, I mean, I guess frugal is like more polite word. I mean, if I buy like a nicer, like, brand of cereal or a nicer thing or just by, you know, something out of the ordinary, he's very much like, how much was that? You know, he just. He just likes to watch the money. And I mean, in life generally, I do, too. But I mean, yeah, he is. He does call me out on little things that look more expensive or whatever. Or if I buy a new shirt, he'll be like, oh, how much was that? It's not just, you look nice. How much did you spend?

[Bretzky]

I totally kind of get it. Because if he's. There are some people who are that frugal to the point where they don't enjoy life. You know what I mean? And I don't know if I necessarily agree with you writing a five figure check without talking to him first, but I do understand your reasoning for not going to him, because I understand it. I don't necessarily agree with or approve of it, but I understand the fact that if you, you know how he operates and if you go to him and say, you want to do this, why do we need a BMW? We can get a perfectly nice Ford. Why do we need a convertible? We don't need a convertible. You can only use it in the summer, blah, blah. And he'll make logical, reasonable arguments and then you won't do it.

Like, is it safe for the kids?

[Bretzky]

Right.

Can you drive the kids in that car?

[Bretzky]

Sometimes you gotta throw out logic and reason.

This is what we have a problem with, is the fact they agreed to use this as savings, so.

And she's gonna take out of that this weekend $50,000 of $100,000 and buy herself a BMW because she feels like she just put off, like, putting herself in front of her family for so long. It's time to come out of it. So what do you think's gonna happen here?

Well, I first of all, totally feel her because I have two kids, two years apart, and I'm a home mom, so I totally, totally, totally get it. But I think she's asking for serious trouble in her marriage by doing this. My thing would be, I'm all for doing something. How about a girl's weekend trip to Paris or something? Granted, I don't have $100,000 in my account. I can just go. But I'm going to Vegas this weekend to see my sister, and no kids. So do something smaller. I mean, do something for yourself. But you're asking for big trouble in your marriage. And with this economy, that's a huge chunk of change on a car. Spend 3,000 and go on a girls weekend trip to get out, recharge. Yeah, but don't buy the car. You're asking for trouble.

[Lauren]

I think it.

[Host Greg]

I think is. There's a different. There's a deeper meaning to all this. I mean, there's. I think that. I mean, is it that you need this car, or are you a little resentful of your husband to the point that you've searched out something like this?

[Brandy]

I mean, I. I feel like maybe it has accumulated over the years where it's like, I saw this car, and I was like, I deserve that because I have gone seven years kind of just not doing anything for myself. But it was one of those, like. It's gonna sound cheesy, but it was like, one of those, like, lightning moments where I saw it, and I was like, that is it. Like, that is what I want. And.

[Host Dylan]

But you just have to reverse the situation. How would you feel if he did the same thing?

[Host Chris]

He just pulls up in this car that you guys didn't discuss at all.

[Host Dylan]

Like, maybe he hasn't made quite the sacrifices that you have over the seven years, but if he spent $50,000 on anything without consulting you. I don't care what it is. I don't care if it's putting it away for the kids, like college scholarships or the tuition fund that you couldn't touch. I mean, even if he put it away for something good and spent it on something, like, you'd be furious.

[Brandy]

I would, but I feel like if he explained, like, the reasons that I

[Host Greg]

have, I disagree with him,

[Bretzky]

it's gonna be a terrible issue. But think I'd say go for it.

talk a little more sense into her, you know? Yeah, you deserve the car, but money's hard to come by these days when you're taking 50 grand out. You know, there's a better way about going about it.

You know, you put a little money

down and then make that monthly note. That way you still have the cash built up.

For me. For me, the. The being sort of dismissed and not included in the conversation of spending the money on a car would be worse than us arguing about it and then you going out and buying the car. Because we can have a total disagreement, and I might not see your side of it, but at least I know what you're doing. The not being. Not consulted, at least discussing it together, would bother me more than anything else.

[Host Greg]

And that's why I said about resentment, because I think that the conversation. I think with the conversation you need to have with your husband is. I don't feel appreciated, and I. It's time for me to go and do something, you know, instead of it. You going behind his back and doing it because I feel like you can show in his face. Look, you know what? I deserve that. I don't know. It just feels like there's this. This tinge of resentment that I think you need to squash now instead of letting it linger because that will. That will hurt your marriage.

[Host Dylan]

And I think, too, like, he can maybe help you negotiate for a better deal on the car. Maybe you don't have to spend that much money. I don't know. Maybe he can figure out a way to pay for it over time rather than taking out, like, one big chunk right now. I don't know.

[Host Chris]

So it's stuff you don't want to hear, right? You want to go out and you want to get this car.

[Host Dylan]

Want to do it?

[Brandy]

Yeah. I mean, I feel like if I don't. If I do talk about it with him and then we, you know he's going to say no. I know he's going to say no.

[Host Chris]

Even if he says no, he's not your father. To me. To me again. It's worse for you guys to have. For him not to be consulted about it at all. You guys can. Stacey and I have done this a whole bunch of times. We get into an argument, we cannot see eye to eye on things, but we still can. We're going to go do our own thing anyway. I'm still angry about it. Or she's angry about it, but at the end of the day, at least I knew about it here. I would be more upset by the secret than I would be by us not agreeing. You know what I'm saying?

[Brandy]

Yeah. I just feel like he's gonna be more upset if I do it anyway. And then it's just. He's gonna be really mad as opposed to me just coming home. And then we have to deal with it. And it's there. And it's already there.

[Host Dylan]

What about a pair of Jimmy choosing? I mean, he could probably get over that. You know, just come home with a really rockin pair of shoes.

[Host Greg]

I see what you're saying, but that, you know, this. His nitpicking you. I do believe you're. You already resent him because him nitpicking you about your clothes, about this. I mean, I would put a stop to that, too. You're going to stop telling me what I'm wearing. You're going to stop telling me about the cereal I buy. Like, I don't know. I think there's all kinds of stuff

going on here, which you might want. I mean, that might be the reason why you're buying the car, because you want the avenue to open up, you know, to talk to your husband about it. But either way, I mean, you're putting all chips in on a $50,000 car, you know.

Yeah, yeah.

And the first one had to do with her parents and their attitudes towards her. She really, she was getting real real with this email.

Right. Well, I'm the youngest and I feel like my mom always gravitates towards me. I don't know if it's because I'm the youngest or because I do tell her a lot of stuff, basically everything in my life. And I don't know, I kind of see my mom is more than a friend than a mom. So then when I have my relationship with my dad, I just feel like he's kind of jealous about that. I mean, I don't know if he is or not, but my dad is a shy type of guy so he doesn't really shares that with me. So I don't really share stuff with him in return. And I just feel like we have a, not an awkward relationship, but a different relationship than I do with my mom.

[Host Dylan]

And you were saying that you feel like your dad favors your older sisters.

[Lauren]

Yes. It's like, my sister. One of my sisters lives in Missouri, and the other one lives here in Atlanta. And every time she comes over to visit, he, like, it's so excited. I'm like, I live at home, and you don't get that excited when you talk to me or see me. And it's just. His face just lights up. He's like, oh, yeah, she's coming over. I'm like, cool.

[Host Greg]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

I think that could be in part because your sister's away and he doesn't see her that often, whereas he would see you every day, because every single day he actually works with her, too. So he does see her every day. Oh.

[Host Greg]

I'm always curious, like, do you personality wise and looks wise? Who are you more like?

[Lauren]

I would say my mom. People always say I look like her.

[Host Greg]

Okay. Because I just didn't know if parents gravitate toward children that remind them of them or remind them of their partners.

[Host Chris]

We've taken calls before from people that will go on the Voice Disguiser and confess that they have a favorite. Like a. A favorite child. Yeah. But I think, for the most part, I don't know that.

[Brandy]

That that's true or not. I don't think that's true.

I don't know. I just, like. I mean, they joke about it. Like, my mom's like, oh, you know, you're my favorite. But then she's like, I love all my kids equally. I'm like, yeah, I know you do. And my dad, the same way. He's like, no, I never say that anyone's my favorite. But you can totally tell that his face just, like, lights up when he sees both my sisters.

[Host Greg]

It may not be a favorite, but as adults, when you have adult children, there's got. I mean, wouldn't it be natural for you to be able to communicate better with one over the other? You know, if they're all different personalities,

[Lauren]

well, then I also was thinking that, like, maybe they have more in common because they work together and whatnot. But, I mean, I still talk to him about certain stuff, and he's just

[Host Chris]

like, oh, hurt your feelings, huh? Like, you look like you're a frank of tears.

[Lauren]

I mean, I don't know. I just wish that I was more. I was closer with him, too, as well. Not just singling out one parent versus the other.

[Bretzky]

Do you see Lauren? But you see. But you're hearing Hayden talking to you about Hollis. Is that what's happening right now?

[Lauren]

Have you tried to open up to your dad before about the things that you usually talk to your mom about? Yeah, like when he had his heart surgery, we were becoming closer because he was at home, so I would help him out, but other than that, I mean, it's still been the same. I'm just like, hey, what's up? And he's like, hey. So it's nothing really.

[Host Chris]

Do you think if you asked your sister, because we went through this with Wendy also, do you think if you asked your sister who your dad favors, do you think she'd immediately say me or do you think she'd say you?

[Lauren]

No, they would totally say them. And they're like, well, mom gravitates towards you. Like, it's always like this little jokey thing, but still, like, when I think about it, I'm like, I mean, that's. I mean, it's kind of awful.

[Host Dylan]

Yeah, I mean, it is. I don't know what else to say. You don't, you know that you don't have the same. I think it's okay not to have the same relationship, but the fact that you feel like you're only close to your mom and your dad sort of isn't interested in you, like, that's.

[Lauren]

I mean, I do.

[Host Greg]

That's a bummer.

[Host Dylan]

I don't know what else to say that would make you feel bummy.

[Host Greg]

That sucks for you.

[Lauren]

I mean, it's not the bummy face. Yeah, I mean, I'm not like totally emotional about it, but I just. The more I think about it, I'm like, well, my mom's kind of like a really good friend of mine, and my dad just. Hey, what's up?

I mean, you don't talk that much, do they? Mine didn't talk about personal things that often.

[Lauren]

Yeah. Depending on if it's a southern dad. I would never share the things that I share with my mom with my dad. Sort of that closed off relationship that it's supposed to be. And that's just how it is.

Good morning, guys. Hey, I was just thinking about. This is kind of the same in my family too. Not to a certain extent, but my mom is so much closer to my little sister. They are friends, they are buddies, they do this together. They know this about each other's lives. And I'm closer to my dad. I don't think it's, you know, to an extreme where my dad just kind of blows off My little sister, or that my mom doesn't pay any attention to me. But I think my mom is really suffering with, like, the whole empty nest thing. So she's clinging to my little sister as much as she can. To be buddies and to be friends kind of keep her around longer. So I kind of try to put a positive spin on it, that it's, you know, a way for my mom to deal with empty nest as opposed. Because I've been gone for years. So my sister still being around, she's just wanting to pay as much attention as she can. Cause, you know, she's the last one in the house.

[Lauren]

And I think once you leave the house, your dad and you may have that kind of relationship, because he does see you every day. He kind of still supports you as the kid of the house. So I think when you move on and get your own place and your own life together, it might change the dynamic. That's how it was in my family.

[Host Chris]

It can go the other way. Also, like with Hollis, I can tell that he is more like me in that I'm gonna be interested more in stuff that he's into, sports and stuff like that. And my kid Hayden is into the arts. And I'm really not all that into it. But I feel like I compensate more for Hayden, knowing that naturally I have more in common with Hollis. Does that make any sense?

[Host Dylan]

Yeah, he does compensate the other way.

[Host Chris]

Yeah, you compensate the other way. So Paula's is probably gonna grow up. Oh, dad like Hayden way better. It's really not. It's just that I think I'm compensating because I'm just more connected with his interests than I am with Hayden.

[Host Greg]

And I think you can't. You can't dismiss personalities. I mean, my mother. I would say that my mother and I are closer, and my sister and my father were closer. My brother gets along with everybody, and I think that's personality, because we're opposites. Like, my sister and my mother are very much alike, and my father and I were very much alike. So we just kind of gravitated to, you know, naturally, it wasn't. I don't think it was a purposeful thing on either one of their parts. But my father, My sister certainly did more solo things together. And same with me and my mom. And it's just, you know, because we're opposites.

[Lauren]

I mean, I know that he loves me the same, but it's just I don't know if he's not as excited as when I come walking in the door than My other two sisters, so. And I just kind of. I guess I am a little jealous of that. But then my mom's like, well, you're my favorite. I mean, I know they're like, somewhat joking, but then kind of like, well, I want my dad of be like, I want him to be his favorite too. So.

Still hurt your feelings?

[Lauren]

Yeah, I mean, it's kind of like, okay, like, why can't both of them like me the same? I don't know.

So this next one here, she says she's always insecure when she walks into a room. Always explain.

[Lauren]

I mean, I don't know, it's like everywhere I go. I don't really know where it stemmed from, but I'm always curious as to what people think of me about. Like, what I look like, what my hair looks like, what my clothes, what my clothes are like. I don't know, just like anything.

[Host Chris]

Any new room that you walk into, or even a room where people know you, you're just sort of consumed with, like, these insecure thoughts.

[Lauren]

It's kind of any room I walk in, I'm just curious as to what people are thinking about me. Like, I'm just. I mean, I don't know just what they think of me. Like, honestly, I don't know. And it's kind of sad, but just like everywhere I go, like, oh, like, wonder. So even when you're wearing that or

[Host Greg]

even when you go to the grocery store, even when you walk in here,

[Lauren]

maybe not so much a grocery store, but like, I work at a gym where I've see people constantly walk in every day. And I'm always thinking, like, I wonder if they're thinking like, oh, why is she sitting there? Wasn't she working now? Really?

[Host Chris]

I know living with that kind of anxiety must be exhausting.

[Host Dylan]

So you're thinking people are judging you all the time?

[Lauren]

Yeah.

[Host Dylan]

Anybody, even. Anybody friends with strangers, you're constantly thinking about other people judging you and what you can do to accommodate that judgment

[Lauren]

or kind of, I'll see, like, how they act towards me. And then it gives me the vibe of how I should act towards them or what I should say and how I should be. Like, how I should talk towards them.

[Host Chris]

So you would adjust how you act towards them based on them, how they act towards me. You want to be liked by everybody, right?

[Lauren]

I hate, like, not being liked. I hate saying no to people. I always want to be the person that you can count on. Like, I hate. I don't know, I just hate when people, like, look down on me. Which I don't know if they are.

[Host Chris]

Yeah, they aren't.

[Lauren]

I don't know.

[Brandy]

Just.

[Host Dylan]

That's your assumption, is that people are judging you or looking down on you.

[Lauren]

Yeah.

[Host Dylan]

So if somebody's in a bad mood around you about something completely different going on in their life, you will think

it's about you sometimes.

If someone is in a bad mood around you, do you try to make them in a better mood? Because then that will make them like you more?

Hi. I do the same thing, too. Like, any room I walk into, even if, like, my sister's a baby, if I know everybody, I do the same thing too, but I fake it. Well, somebody really knows about it. But deep down I'm just like, oh, my gosh, what is he thinking about? What is he doing?

I don't understand that.

It's so funny you bring this up because I forgot how long ago it was. But one of Katie and my friends who is overweight said that she feels self conscious because she thinks just walking down the street, everybody's judging her based on her weight and she so self conscious about what? You know. So you talk about, you know, thinking about how everybody looks at you and everything, and it just remind me that conversation with that friend where she's like, I cannot go anywhere and feel comfortable because I think everybody thinks I'm lazy. You know, all these other whatever labels that she thinks they're putting on her simply for her weight.

You know, it's always a projection of usually how you feel about yourself, you know?

[Lauren]

Well, I know, like, I lay out in the sun a lot and I have some, like, speckled pieces or spots on my face.

[Bretzky]

And I'm always like, we've talked about that.

[Lauren]

No, because I'm always like, oh, people probably looking at me like, ooh, what is that? Because I know someone said like, oh, what's wrong with your nose? And like, I peeled some skin. And then it's like raw looking.

[Bretzky]

And I'm like, I said that. But Melissa was like, it's not that big of a deal. I hardly noticed it.

[Host Greg]

I will actually save some of the pieces. Is that weird? Am I normal?

[Lauren]

No, just like, I guess it stands from, like, people, like, just like random comments to me and I'm just like, oh, my God, now he thinks that, then everybody's gonna think that. And I don't know, I guess that's an insecurity I have with if somebody says something, then I think everybody's thinking it.

[Host Chris]

All of these things kind of go hand in hand, like consistently. You will email us and your topics have to do with you worried about your weight or working out too much. All of them, I think, are tied or food.

[Host Dylan]

Around the holidays, you were like, stressing out because you couldn't eat what you wanted to because you and your family had to take a picture together. Like, yeah, it does all kind of stem back to this self confidence thing. And that's why I was thinking that your two topics this week were connected. Like, is that connected back to your dad?

[Lauren]

Yeah, I don't know. I didn't really think about that until you said it today. But it might be. But my dad's never really mentioned anything about the way I look or the way I act. He's always said, you know, you look great. He's never said like, oh, I can't believe you're right.

[Bretzky]

Well, you have to worry about. You have to worry about what he says when you leave the room.

[Lauren]

Exactly.

[Bretzky]

Like, to the sisters he likes more,

[Host Chris]

sometimes it's worse, like, to be like, feel like you're ignored. Like, if you feel like your dad pays attention to your. Your sisters more than he does you, and that is just as bad as them saying nasty things to be dismissed and ignored. Totally the same thing.

[Host Greg]

Do you think your sisters feel the same way about your mom?

[Lauren]

I think one of the sisters, she might, but the other, I don't know. Like, my mom's always, whenever, like we're all in a room, she never really picks out one over the other. It's just like when you're singled out, then she's like, like she kind of does it on purpose. Like, oh, I bought so and so this. Are you jealous? Like, I mean, joking around. But it's not only that funny.

[Host Chris]

I think if you scratch the surface, you scratch the surface on a lot of people. Many people feel the same way you do.

[Brandy]

Hey, guys. How you guys doing? Pretty good. Yeah. After a lifetime of living with a bunch of different insecurities, you start over, analyzing situations. You know, I've tried making new friends and you start like reading their facial expressions and reading into it and you start building up these, these storylines in your head about what they're thinking. They're. You Know what. What they're judging you on, and it just. It's really hard. Like, it ruins everything, you know?

[Lauren]

Well, it's people pleasing. And I do think it stems for the dad. Because if you're not getting the love that you need, or you don't think you're wanted or the. The favorite or anything, you're gonna go above and beyond to impress your dad. You're gonna do as much as you can. You're always thinking about what your dad's thinking. Does he really think this way about you? Does he really think I'm pretty enough? And I think that's.

[Host Dylan]

Or am I good enough?

[Lauren]

Am I good enough? Cause you're always trying to impress that one parent that's not giving you what you need. So I think it. And then it goes even further to your friends and outside people who don't even matter about.

[Host Chris]

Some days are better than the others.

I understand that you want other people to like you. I think that's normal. That's like kind of the cool part about once you get into your 30s. Like, for me, anyway, now that I'm in my 30s, I don't care as much. And like, the people pleaser part sort of washes away a little bit as you gain more confidence. And I think that comes with time. But I think it's something that you can work on because, I mean, you're really talented, you're really smart, you're way organized and put together. You bring a great attitude to the table every day. I could list off 15 things right now and you can't even think of two.

[Lauren]

Well, no, see, you say I'm organized, but then different situations at home. Moms, you are the most unorganized person
