The Bird show so are younger nurses worse than older nurses now?
Wendy
We got a lot of nurses listening at this time.
Melissa
A lot of nurses listening. And I never thought about this before. I am a transplant recipient. I'm a patient, chronic illness. So I deal with nurses a lot and I love them all because to me, the nurses are the ones who are in the trenches. They're the ones that deal with the patients. They're the ones that see more a lot of times than the doctors do. And so it's not in my experience that I've seen this, but recently My mother, Millie Pete was in the hospital in Nashville. And this is, I guess about a month ago at this point. And so I was up there visiting with her. And a lot of times when someone's in the hospital, nobody's ever been to a hospital or been there for a while. There's shift changes. And so you have nurses during the day and you have nurses overnight. And a lot of times when you're the family members in a hospital with your loved one, there's a lot of downtime. And so when the nurses come in and do their lab work or do whatever, you get in a conversation. So I was in a conversation with one of these nurses in Nashville and. And I don't know how it came up, but somehow we started talking. Maybe it's about the nursing shortage, because there's been nursing shortage for a while. And so she was talking about the new nurses that are coming into the hospitals. And she made the comment that she thought that younger nurses were worse than older nurses because she felt that younger nurses did not care about the patients as much as older nurses did.
Wendy
Now, I would almost think as common sense, it would be the other way around because nurses that have been around a while have sort of seen it all. And maybe there's a desensitivity there if you're an older nurse, whereas if you're new, everything's new and exciting. Everybody needs to be catered to.
Jeff
You would think that they would be a little more like, jaded and callous, like, oh, it doesn't hurt that much if you're older. Yeah, if you've been doing it for a long time.
Melissa
But from her perspective, she felt that she got into nursing simply for care, simply for human care, that she's there as an emotional support for her patients as well as physical support. And I think her theory was that so many of these new nurses that are coming in, who are maybe coming in for the nursing shortage or just because they're young, that they're coming in for the paycheck, they're coming in to do their job, they just go do their rounds, and then they end up staying at the nurse's station the majority of the time rather than actually getting up and interacting and having these long conversations with their patients.
Jeff
Well, my best friend who's like, my sister is a nurse and her husband is a nurse anesthesis. And their complaint, it's called nurse anesthesis. So it's right below the anesthesiologist.
Jen
Oh, okay.
Jeff
But it's a very specialized form of nursing. But Their frustration with the whole industry is all of them are called a nurse, but there's different levels of education all the way through the whole thing. But there's no real delineation whether you have a two year degree in your nursing or whether you have a four year degree in your nursing, whether you have a graduate degree, or whether you go on and on and get multiple graduate degrees. They call everybody a nurse. So that's their frustration with it. So maybe that's. Maybe that ties into it a little bit too, like whether the level of education has anything to do with it.
Wendy
I wonder if there's an element, like it's a recession now also, so people are out of work. And the nursing industry has always needed people to fill those positions. So anybody can be a nurse. You can be a nurse.
Jen
You can be a nurse.
Wendy
I wouldn't have thought about it years ago, but now I will. Even though their heart's really not into it.
Jen
You got some construction worker putting a thermometer in your butt.
Wendy
You could save that for Jeff.
SpinQuest Announcer
Hey, Kim.
Jen
Gal, you're not even drunk.
Wendy
What's going on, Kim?
Kimmere
Well, good morning. First of all, let me say I love the Burt Show.
Caller
Thank you.
Melissa
Thank you.
Kimmere
Second of all, I am a nursing student currently, and I have about six months left, and I've been in just about every hospital in the metropolitan area. And I totally disagree. You know, it's funny because when you walk into a hospital as a nursing student doing your clinicals, you're kind of sizing up that particular hospital to see, you know, is this someplace I could see myself working? And the older nurses, I mean, you know, and I've been on site wards, pediatrics, labor and delivery. The older nurses are kind of mean. Like, they don't. They for some reason, they just seem to lack that bedside manner, you know, and the whole reason, I mean, I'm a late, you know, I'm 39, going back to school with two kids, you know, and I did this because I wanted to make a difference. And basically, I don't know what I want to do. I'm the only one that doesn't know. I just know that I want to do indigent care and work, you know, with impoverished people. So nine times out of ten, that means gravy. And the older nurses are just atrocious. I mean, they're more. They're great clinicians, I will say that, because they have the life experience and they know a lot more, and I applaud them for that. But when it comes down to just Being able to relate to patients, relate to the families of patients. I tend to disagree with her. Not all of them. I mean, I don't mean to, I don't want to generalize by any means and say that all of the older nurses are like that, but nine times out of 10, the nurses that I've run into where I'm like, good gracious, if I ever end up like that, somebody please you know, tell me.
Wendy
I'd rather have a nurse that doesn't have a great bedside matter that saves my life.
Jen
She can be grumpy as long as
Wendy
she knows she can be as mean as you want me as long as you save my life. Do whatever you want.
Jen
I will take the biggest. A hole nurse who can find my vein on the first trial.
Wendy
Absolutely, man. Don't use me for target practice.
Jen
Right.
Wendy
Hey, Kathy, good morning. You're on. How's your family?
Jen
Poke, poke, poke, poke, poke.
Caller
Good morning. I love you guys.
Wendy
Hi. Thank you.
Caller
My mother has been a maternity nurse
for almost 40 years and I have
heard her say more than one time about these younger nurses that are coming in. And it's not that they don't care about the patients or care about why they're there. She said that they're just not very realistic about an amount of work that's required. She says that she has younger nurses always saying, hey, room 14 needs a soda. Can you go give them a soda? Room 14 just wet their bed. Can you go change their sheets? They don't want to do that kind of thing. And my mother is very frustrated with the younger nurses in that sense of
Wendy
the, of the whole realm of things. I wonder if we picked any, if we picked any profession, if this would be the argument, like if you got a whole bunch of flight attendants on right now, I wonder if there'd still be that gender sort of bridge between both.
Melissa
Because the argument, even with the nurses, when it comes to the patients, the fact that the nurses were complaining about the younger patients as opposed to the older patients. Because mom, my mother is 80 and she's up out of the bed the first day, up and down the hall like she's, she wants out of that hospital. She, she wants to get out. And the nurses are even like, you know, they have all their 60 plus patients usually end up getting out of the hospital within a couple days. But their 30 and 40 and 50 year old patients are, they say whining and they don't want to work as hard and they don't want to do what the nurses tell them to do and they end up being in there like three or four extra days.
Kelly
I think it just has to do with the individual. I have a friend who's 27 years old and has been in nursing for a couple of years now, and she's a younger nurse and she has to do all that work. She takes the responsibility and goes, changes and does the crap work that nobody else wants to do. I think it has to do with individuals.
Wendy
I would last two seconds in a hospital when I talk to my sister in law and she tells me some of the things she has to do to people.
Jeff
No way I'd be.
Wendy
I'd literally last 36 hours. As soon as they pointed to somebody else, that'd be it.
Melissa
God bless them, because there's no way
Jeff
I could do it either.
Melissa
That goes where what Wendy's saying and I think what Bert, you were saying is like, if you're going into nursing for the right reasons in care, all of that has to do with the care because you disregard all that because what you're doing is making the patient feel better. But if you're going into it, just focus on the fluid or focus on, you know, whatever's going on and not thinking about that person as an individual who needs to be healed, then you don't need to be into nursing. You know what I mean?
Wendy
I'm way too selfish to be a doctor or nurse.
Melissa
Yeah, it's tough.
Caller
I can't handle.
Melissa
I can't handle it. I'm too squeamish.
Wendy
Yeah, man, that is a tough gig all the way around.
Melissa
Yeah. Another nurse would have to clean up my vomit as I'm trying to nurse somebody else.
Jeff
I mean, Jeff just said the word ooze and it just about made me barf.
Jen
That is a sexy word right there.
Wendy

We've planned for for the plot twists,
Wendy
so support is always available because a great trip starts with peace of mind. The Birch Show. So I've been trying to get to this now for days and days and days. The Birch Show's embarrassment free zone. This is when you guys can call up 404-741, Q100 and you can basically ask any question that you want of something going on in your life or around you that you're too embarrassed to ask anybody else. Like, there are plenty of people right now that are listening that have heard us discuss or heard your friends discuss Twitter, but you really have no idea what it is. But you're afraid to ask one of your friends. Cause you know that they're gonna embarrass you and they're gonna laugh at you and they're gonna inevitably say, I can't believe you don't know what Twitter is.
Melissa
We really never leave the third grade. You know, like, when it comes to point in life.
Caller
Ha ha.
Melissa
You don't know what Twitter is. Come on.
Wendy
How can you not know that?
Melissa
You're a dork, right? You know, we're still afraid to ask those questions.
Wendy
You know, maybe for the last week, people have been talking about Tiger woods, and you really don't know who Tiger woods is. You, like, you don't know why he's a big deal. You couldn't ask your friends because they would give you such a hard time, right? So here's where you guys call us up any question that you've ever had, and I'm gonna even gonna start it here. And this has always driven me nuts, okay? And I have never even asked the question, but whenever I'm reading a book and I see that parentheses and then inside of it, it says, S, I, C, Sick. You know, I just go right over it, but I really have no idea what it means.
Jeff
I think I know what it means, but I'm not sure if I'm correct.
Jen
I want to know what the. Because I have done the same thing and what I have always assumed it means. And I think if what happens doesn't apply to this definition I'm about to give, then I just. Oh, my God. Obviously the book company made a mistake. But I think, like, if. If they use. Can we call it sic? Is that what it stands sic? I don't even know sic. That means that whatever was preceding that was a verbatim usage of the text. Meaning if there's a misspelling or a grammatical error, it's almost an acknowledgement that that is.
Melissa
It wasn't an accident, that it was misspelled or whatever.
Jen
Yeah, that's what I think it means.
Jeff
My perception is different. My thought is that if it has six.
Jen
Look what you've started, Bart.
Wendy
I know. No one really knows. We just know. We say it in our head.
Jeff
Well, to me, it means that it was a direct quote from somebody else previously, but there were different things left out of it.
Jen
What do you mean?
Jeff
Like, say the quote that they were quoting before the sic was a really
Jen
long one, so they edited it down,
Jeff
but they edited down to a shorter version to extract their own meaning from it. But it's not the full detailed, original
Melissa
quote, because in some quotes, they have to acknowledge that.
Jeff
They have to acknowledge that they changed it or edited it in some way. That's what I thought it was.
Wendy
I was always under the impression that it was like A misspelled word or something like that. But the book people had to let you know that they weren't misspelling it, that it was, like, within a quote.
Jen
You thought that's what I think it is, but I have no idea what it stands for or if that's even right.
Wendy
So if you guys have any questions like that, we're actually going to get the answer to the SIC question.
Melissa
Okay.
Wendy
Okay, then give us a call right now. 404-741. Q100. Hey, Misty. Good morning.
Caller
Hey, Bert.
Misty
You're right, Bert. That's what it means.
Wendy
What is it? Because I don't even know.
Misty
It means that it was what they
Caller
wrote in the book is not actually correct.
Wendy
That it was.
Kimmere
It was miss. It was miswritten.
Wendy
Okay, so it's not like the book messed something up. They're letting you know that it was miswritten before, and they're putting it in, like Jeff said, verbatim.
Misty
Verbatim. As to what it is, even though it is incorrect. Yes.
Kimmere
Lawyers use that quite a bit.
Jen
If we end up.
Jeff
What does it stand for?
Misty
I'm sorry?
Jeff
What does SIC stand for?
Caller
I don't know what it stands for, but that's what.
Wendy
That's why they do that.
Kimmere
We do that. I work for an attorney, and we do that quite often.
Jen
I have it.
Wendy
So we're halfway home.
Jen
I have it right here. It doesn't stand for anything. It's a Latin word, and it's actually a.
Jeff
What's the Latin meaning thus?
Jen
And it's pronounced seek.
Bert
Seek.
Wendy
Okay.
Melissa
It just means the book publisher wants to say, look, we're not dumb. Yeah, right.
Jen
Can we end our show Not.
Jeff
My bad.
Jen
Can we end our show every day by saying parentheses seek?
Wendy
In the past, when we've done this, what other kind of questions have we received?
Jeff
A lot of one's about, like, pop culture stuff that people don't understand or
Melissa
maybe or something we do as an inside. You know, to save that or, you know, something maybe we do as well.
Wendy
I'd rather keep them away from Birch show related stuff, but just general stuff that you know, you should know, but you're just too embarrassed to ask your friends. Hey, Liz. Good morning. You're on Q100.
Kimmere
Good morning.
Caller
I'm very excited to be on with
Kimmere
you guys this morning. You drive to work with me every morning.
Wendy
Thank you for calling. What's up?
Kimmere
I want to know what TMZ stands for. That program.
Wendy
I can handle that one. But, Jen, this is your. This is your specialty.
Jeff
I don't know what it stands for.
Wendy
It's 30 mile zone, meaning Los Angeles. And then there's. They cover 30 miles within the. Is it the county of LA?
Jen
I think it's the. The general perimeter of Los Angeles County.
Kimmere
30 miles.
Caller
That's very.
Kimmere
Thank you. I've always wondered.
Caller
I've asked other people, hesitantly ask other people.
Wendy
30 mile zone is what that is.
Kimmere
Thank you very much.
Wendy
You're welcome.
Jen
Here's one that Tracy just IM'd me and Wendy, you're gonna have a problem with this.
Kelly
Okay.
Jen
Until Friday, Tracy had zero idea who Tebow was when we would refer to him on the show.
SpinQuest Disclaimer Announcer
Oh, you're kidding.
Melissa
It's an embarrassment free zone, Wendy. You can't come down.
Jen
You can't hold it against her.
Melissa
You can't embarrassment free.
Jen
You still have to be her friend.
Kelly
It's only the best quarterback ever.
Wendy
And you can't edit like that either.
Jen
But now she knows that he's the crybaby that lost the game.
Jeff
I'm saying
Kelly
no, he's the quarterback for Florida.
Wendy
This 316 got smudged on Saturday. I'm sorry. A little thing under his eye.
Jen
Somebody sent out a tweet.
SpinQuest Announcer
I lost the game.
Jen
Did you see it? I retweeted it. Change. He needs to change his itape to read. And I don't know what the biblical verse is, but it's Jesus wept.
Kelly
I didn't see anybody else's team in the SEC championship.
Melissa
Embarrassing. What is going on, guys? What's going on?
Caller
I know what you're talking about.
Jeff
I had an embarrassing question that maybe it's not that embarrassing, but I asked at the Hawks game on Friday night, why do NBA coaches and players that aren't playing wear suits? Because it's the only sport where they do. Right.
Wendy
I can tell you the reason for that. They are not allowed on the playing field. So if you're a coach that's allowed on the field, like a baseball coach, he's allowed to walk on the field and talk to his, like, pitcher. If you're not allowed on the court, then you don't need to wear the team's jersey. You wear street clothes, but they have to wear suits.
Jen
It's probably just an NBA rule.
Wendy
I don't know if they have to wear suits if it's a rule.
Jeff
That's what my friend said that I went with. He said if they're a player on the team who's not going to be in the game, like they're out injured or whatever, they also wear suits.
Jen
It's probably an NBA standard. Because hockey. Hockey players do the same thing.
Jeff
Yeah, hockey does too.
Kelly
And I know NFL coaches used to back in the day. They don't anymore.
Jen
That would be so weird.
Kelly
Yeah, they used to be in full tuxes.
Wendy
Paul Bear Bryant. Bear Bryant used to be in a suit back in the day. Hey, Kelly. Good Morning. You're on Q100.
Caller
Hey.
Wendy
This is an embarrassment free question zone. You can ask anything you want.
Caller
Great. Okay, so I teach middle school.
Kimmere
I can't ask any of my students.
Caller
You guys have talked about this.
Kimmere
I know. He's part of Twilight. I don't know who the Lautner guy is. Jason Lautner.
Kelly
Lautner.
Jen
Wendy, you're getting your ass kicked this after this morning.
Kelly
We all know who Taylor Lautner is. Even the women in here do. He's one of the stars on Twilight and he plays the werewolf.
Caller
His name is Taylor.
Kelly
His name is Taylor Lautner.
Jeff
And how old is he?
Kelly
He's 17 years old.
Jeff
And what does he look like? Really hot.
Caller
Jacob or Edward?
Kelly
Jacob.
Melissa
He's Jacob. And your kids, probably because he was Shark Boy too. So he was a character called Shark Boy. So they may have grown up with him.
Misty
Okay.
Kimmere
Because I haven't bothered to ask them. I just hear them going on and on.
Caller
But I haven't asked.
Wendy
Yeah, you would be very, very uncool. So I'm glad you asked us rather than them.
Melissa
Yes.
Kimmere
All right, great.
Caller
Thank you.
Jen
And you can really wow him because he's currently dating Taylor Swift, right? Supposedly.
Beaver Phillips
Rumor.
Melissa
Yes, rumor.
Wendy
Good morning, Laura. You are on the Burt Show.
Melissa
Turn down your radio, Laura.
Caller
Oh, turn down.
Wendy
Yeah, Yep. There you go.
Melissa
Hey,
Jen
and now talk to us.
Melissa
Yeah, Laura.
Wendy
Okay, we're gonna go.
Beaver Phillips
Yeah.
Wendy
Good morning, Wendy. You're on Q100. I.
Caller
Good morning. I am embarrassed. Even though this is an embarrassment free zone. I watch those Law and Order, all
of those shows with my husband.
And they're always asked, they're always saying what it. This was his movie. What is mo? That is motive. I don't know what mo refers to.
Wendy
Modus operandi.
Jen
It's a Latin phrase and it means his or her typical way of doing a crime.
Caller
Oh, okay.
Jen
All right.
Caller
Now seem to make sense now.
Jeff
Wouldn't it be your typical way of doing anything? Like, you can say that about any person. It's like, oh, well, that's their mo.
Jen
Oh, that's her. Like if Jen.
Melissa
Typical behavior.
Jen
If Jen always walked out at right after her six o' clock entertainment clothes.
Jeff
Let's say I'm always, you know, I'm always running five to ten minutes late. It's like, oh, that's her M.O. she's a little missed. Ten minutes late.
Caller
Oh, my M.O.
is to sit on 285 for four hours.
That's right.
Wendy
See, now, I always thought the M.O. was the intention of something, so I guess I was wrong. Okay.
Melissa
Yes.
Wendy
The way of doing things here is Becca. Good Morning. You're on Q100.
Caller
Hey, I want to know who Chuck Norris is.
Melissa
Okay.
Wendy
Who is what? Because you've heard all the Chuck Norris jokes and you're wondering.
Kimmere
Yeah. And I don't know what's so great about him.
Jen
When Chuck Norris does a push up, he's not raising himself up, but moving the earth down.
Caller
I'm with her.
Kelly
I have no idea.
Wendy
Really.
Kelly
I've heard the name, but I mean, I've seen the costumes, but I don't know what he's done.
Wendy
Well, at first, Chuck Norris was a martial arts actor, and then he evolved into having a TV show which was.
Caller
Oh, God.
Wendy
He played a sheriff.
Jeff
Yeah.
Melissa
Oh, my God.
Wendy
On this TV show.
Melissa
Because every time I'd go to Nashville, my family would watch this.
Kimmere
Walker, Texas Ranger.
Wendy
There it is. Walker, Texas Ranger.
Melissa
That's right. That's right.
Caller
Yeah.
Melissa
He's just. Yeah, he was. He. In a time of martial arts, he was, like, the most popular white martial arts actor, so. And he had a huge following. So.
Wendy
And he just became known as this real studly kind of tough guy.
Kimmere
All right.
Wendy
Okay, thank you.
Jen
And I will still laugh consistently at Chuck Norris jokes.
Wendy
Right.
Jen
If you have $5 and Chuck Norris has $5. Chuck Norris has more money than you.
Jeff
But Chuck's. The tennis shoes, the sneakers. Chuck Taylor's are not Chuck Norris'. They're Chuck Taylor's.
Wendy
And you know that Chuck Norris is, like, five foot five.
Jeff
No, he's little.
Jen
Little.
Wendy
He's like my size.
Jen
Little Chuck Norris is your size, and you're your size. Chuck Norris is still taller than you. Absolutely.
Wendy
Hey, Megan. Good Morning. You're on Q100.
Kimmere
Good morning.
Wendy
Hi.
Caller
Hi.
Kimmere
I love you guys, by the way. I love you every morning on my way to work.
Wendy
Thank you.
Kimmere
Okay, you guys can't laugh at me. I'm really not a retard.
Wendy
It's okay. It's an embarrassment freezer.
Kimmere
The HOV lane on the highway.
Caller
I know what the rules are.
Kimmere
I have no idea what it stands for.
Jeff
It's high occupancy vehicle.
Kimmere
And see that?
Caller
That would make sense.
Wendy
Okay, so there's more than, like, one person would be High occupancy vehicle.
Jen
Thanks. Community.
Melissa
Yeah. Now you should be Community.
Jeff
That's who we should call.
Melissa
You should be more embarrassed by using the R word than not knowing what hov.
Jeff
Yeah, I kind of flinched when she said it.
Wendy
At least. At least we got you covered on the HOV thing.
Jeff
Yes.
Caller
Thank you.
Wendy
You're welcome.
Jen
Get it?

You're on the Burt show on Friday night. The Atlanta Hawks gave Burt's Big Adventure two sweets to bring prior Burt's Big Adventure families together and watch the Hawks play. And the families get to connect with each other, which is really becoming such a huge part of Burt's big adventure. Now is when we come back, we really keep all the families together and they get to reunite and really help each other through some very difficult times. So the Hawks gave us a couple of suites for these families. We brought Hayden and we brought Hollis and my wife Stacey, and we were all going to go and hang out with the Burch Big Adventure families, right? So we get inside the stadium and we're walking to the suites. And Stacy remembers that she has to get some cash, some money. So she takes the ATM machine, the money card out of my wallet, and she walks one way with the kids. And as that's happening, I see a former employee of Q100 who is working for another radio station now. So I stop and I start having conversation with him. Takes about three or four minutes. Stacy and the fam are checking out the money situation. They come back and she checks in with me and she says, we are walking right down here to Portal six where we're gonna pick up some Hawks gear for the kids. So we'll see you down there. No problem. So they start walking down that way, and I'm in conversation with this guy Ron, and all. All I know is that Stacy does a U turn quickly and there's a panicked look on her face and she's like, have you seen Hayden?
Jen
Oh, boy.
Wendy
And I said, no, Hayden was with you over at the money machine.
Jen
That'll drain the color from your face.
Melissa
Wow.
Wendy
Immediately, right? So I'm trying to keep it cool, but I figure he must be, you know, he's got. How far could it be? I mean, we're talking about just a couple of seconds here. So I look to my right and I look down, and there's no Hayden. And then I look to my left, and now I see the panic starting to go over Stacy's face. So I'm starting to get even more panic because everybody in our group is starting to get panicked, too. So we go into customer service. He's not there. Stacy runs one way. Our Burt's Big Adventure coordinator, Amy, is with her also. And then I head the other direction looking for him.
Jen
How much time are we talking about?
Wendy
75 minutes is what it felt like. I couldn't even tell you if you
Jen
went into customer service, so that.
Wendy
I mean, it could have been three, maybe three minutes. I don't even know when something like that happens. The first time that I really have felt like I lost my kid. Like, when you're on the playground and you can't see him even for that split second, you sort of get a little bit panicked about it. But the playground is such a confined area that normally if you just move five feet to your right or five feet to your left, you get a visual of your kid.
Kimmere
Right?
Wendy
This one man. I mean, there are thousands of people walking in the aisles and walking from portal to portal, and I couldn't see anything.
Jeff
Nobody looks familiar.
Wendy
Nobody looks familiar. And I don't see this kid anywhere. So I start walking in the general direction of that gift store that they were talking about. And sure enough, there's Hayden. He's just looking around. He's got this Hawks banner, and he's showing everybody his new Hawks slash Chick Fil A banner. And he's just, like, showing everybody. He's so proud of it. I don't even think he realized his mom wasn't even there.
Caller
Wow.
Jeff
So he didn't even know he was lost when he was lost?
Wendy
I'm not even sure. I didn't even ask him, really. And it happens so fast, and your emotions are flooding over you that I don't even really have a very clear picture of what happened next. But I just know that I was saying to myself, don't chew his ass out, because Stacey's gonna do that in 30 seconds. So I said to him, I think, don't ever do that again. Never, never, never leave your parents ever, ever again.
Jen
But did he even know that he did that?
Wendy
I think he did. I think I just remember asking him why he left, and he said he was showing everybody his banners. So I took him by the hand and I brought him over to Stacy, and she reacted the way that I thought she would. First you hugged him. Thank God nothing's wrong. And then there's the hands on the
Melissa
hands, on the arms. And don't you ever. Yeah.
Jen
Where somebody's almost dialing defects. They're like 404.
Jeff
What is she doing?
Jen
Let's see. Let's see how far she's gonna take this.
Wendy
Worst feeling I've ever had in my life. We were at the FIPS Santa thing on Sunday night. The new Santa's at over at Phipps, and they had a media presentation for it. So I'm there telling some of our friends this, and she relays this story to me. And thank God she told me it after the whole thing. Said she had some friends. They were at Disney World one year. Same type thing happens. They're at Disney World and they lose their child. Well, rather than look around, she goes directly to security. You know, like Stacy and I were looking for ourselves. Probably two minutes before we would have started to ask, where's security? These people go right to security. And that decision right there saved their child's life. When you're at Disney World and you lose a child, the whole place goes on lockdown. Nobody can get in, nobody can get out, Nobody can take the kids. Right. So she goes right to security. Security puts the APB out and they start checking everywhere. About 10 minutes later, 10 minutes later, they find the child, the girl, it's her daughter in the men's bathroom with a guy that had her in different clothes and her hair cut already.
Melissa
Stop it.
Jen
I wanted to walk her out of the.
Wendy
Parking her out of the park.
Beaver Phillips
Whoa.
Kimmere
Wow.
Wendy
Thank God. She told me that story after the Hawks game, you know, when I was in my BBC and they said, she said, you know what? Had she looked for that kid herself for 10 minutes or whatever, would have never found her baby would have been gone with the. With the assailant. And they may have never seen her again. But she went right to security.
Melissa
And I always feel bad. Poor Walt Disney World. Having to deal with. With creeper dudes like that every single day and making sure and trying their best to make sure that they're in the house.
Jeff
Was that guy arrested?
Wendy
Oh, I'm sure. I mean, she didn't know what happened
Jen
afterwards, but I'm sure when I was at BBA last year at the MGM park. Is that what it's still called or whatever it's called now, the movie themed one.
Jeff
Hollywood Studios, I think it's called Hollywood
Jen
Studios, there was a kid who was clearly lost. You know, you can just see that look on their face. And they're looking and I. And so I'm watching the kid And I'm watching and there's no parent or whatever. So I go up to the kid and I'm like, are you. Can you not find who you're looking for? And like, you know, the kid was shut down, totally shut down. So I said, hey, why don't you walk over with me? And there was a, you know, employee. I don't know if it's security or whatever, but a Disney person 50ft away. So walk over and say, hey, this kid was just hanging out. I don't know his name. He's really clammed up. She said something into her walkie talkie, and I kid you not, a dozen out of nowhere, security people, everybody, like SWAT team, everybody was down there.
Jeff
Action plan is in place.
Jen
And they were like, like one person who is like down on their knees now.
Beaver Phillips
Hi.
Jen
Where did you last see your mom? What is your mom. Do you remember what your mommy's wearing? Who are you here with?
Wendy
I'm surprised they didn't start questioning you.
Jen
No, they did that.
Melissa
Yeah, me too.
Jen
They took. They said, could we get your name? Do you have a cell phone with you in case we have any questions? All this stuff, they. They were on it.
Kelly
Wow.
Wendy
Hey, Lori. Good Morning. You're on Q100.
Caller
Hey, Bert.
I know how you feel. It's just the scariest thing ever. My child was 5 years old, and we were at the beach and somehow him coming back to the room. We had walkie talkies. My daughter was seven. They were down at the beach. We were watching them from the balcony. And he got turned around, and instead of coming up to the hotel, he started walking down the beach. So I go to the elevator to get him, and it's a two story little hotel. He's gone. So I start panicking and, you know, you're at the beach, you're thinking someone grabbed him. So I'm in the hotel parking lot screaming, not letting anybody out of the parking lot. My husband's down the ocean. I just, you know. You think he grabbed. Well, you know what that child did? He was five. He walked down the beach looking for a two story pink building. He was miles. I mean, we had to call the police. They were driving down the street as we were running down the beach, stopping people. Have you seen a little blonde boy? And they're like, yeah, he went that way. But I mean, he was literally almost two miles up the beach.
Wendy
Yeah, we were in Isle of Palms this summer, and the same thing happened where parents lost their kid on the beach. He was in the water and they Couldn't find him. So you can imagine everything going through their head. And you can spot the parents that lose their kids because it's in. It's a very unique look. I mean, you're panicked and you're running as fast as you can up and down the beach. That kid had drifted a mile and a half down the beach.
Caller
Whoa.
Wendy
He was in the water. He's like 6 years old. Drifted down the beach to the boardwalk.
Jeff
You just gotta be so careful. Cause I'm sure that happens really quickly too.
Wendy
Very, very quickly.
Jeff
The parents weren't ignoring him for an
Melissa
hour and a half.
Jeff
You know, five minutes. You look this way, you go to get the sandwiches out or whatever, and then it's like gone.
Wendy
And the undertow in South Carolina is so strong. Yeah. So swift.
Melissa
I won't judge leashes anymore, I don't think. You know, like, I always. I always laugh at parents, kids unleashes, but, I mean, after hearing some of these stories, I'd rather you laugh at my kid than find him in the men's bathroom in different clothes.
Wendy
Hey, Wendy, Good Morning. You're on Q100.
Caller
Hey, good morning. Just listening to that, I was. I'm taking my son to the doctor right now. And I told him about when one time when we were at Disney World, we just told the story. We were actually there. My cousin is one of the characters we had gone to visit. And we were there when that little girl was taken. And when they did lockdown, you had to go out only exit, and they were searching you. Literally hands on, searching everybody person as they walked out. And that's how they found the little girl in the bathroom. They were searching.
Kimmere
Security was.
Caller
But we were there. So when I just had barely got that out of my mouth, and then you start telling that story and we just both freaked out.
Wendy
Yeah, I mean, a story like that, it gets spread pretty quickly, you know. Here is Kimmere. Good morning. You're on Q100. Good morning.
Caller
Good morning. When my son, my oldest, was, I believe, four years old, my ex husband was taking him to Bass pro shops. And because he had to trade out a shirt that he had gotten, and he went into the dressing room and he went to lift his shirt off to try it on. And between the time he started pulling it up and the time he got it off his head, my son had crawled under the little fitting room door, took off. So he threw his shirt back on, opened the door. My son's nowhere to be found. And I mean, he looked everywhere. He went over, got security they locked down the building. We searched for 10 minutes in that store. And, I mean, there's like, five security guys looking everywhere. Nobody could find him. Finally, somebody stumbles up. You know, in Bass Pro Shops, I've got that huge display with the mountain goats and everything. Well, he was up there climbing this little rock mountain, having a great time,
Wendy
and in his own innocent little bubble.
Jen
If you lose your kid, look for the mountain goats.
Wendy
No problem.
Jeff
Well, that was just like Hayden just wandering around, showing people his banner. No clue that everybody was panicking.
Jen
Can I tell you guys when I was.
Wendy
You know how, like, in a movie, you sometimes see, like, somebody that's in a really high stress scene and the whole room is spinning around them? They show you that one thing where you're. The panicked person is in the middle, but the whole room is spinning. That's how it felt like that.
Jen
I told you guys about being at Hartsfield, and the dad jumped on the train, the door closed, and the daughter was behind him, and she thought he thought. She jumped on with him. Oh, and the train's going, and the dad's on the train moving, doors closed, daughter standing outside like, oh, God, panicked.
Wendy
How you gonna go home, tell moms that? I would just say, you know what? Listen, I'm in a hurry.
Jen
I'm in a hurry.
Wendy
Listen, it's the Vert show.

This is the Bird show, so we're going to be walking a really fine line here for a second. But before we even get into it, let me tell you what our intention here is. Is that a dude named Beaver Phillips?
Jen
It's awesome.
Wendy
Beaver Phillips has created a website called Copy Paste and Bang. Okay. It is a church site. It is a website that calls itself a step by step guide for men to meet women on the Internet and get laid.
Jeff
Okay, and what's his name again? One more time again.
Wendy
His name is Beaver Phillips.
Kelly
Okay.
Wendy
Okay. Normally we would find out about an author like this and it just, it's not our thing. I mean exposing women to guys that are online that are simply there just trying to take advantage of using of women and just get laid. Probably something we would just pass on. But then we thought twice about it and we thought okay, is it smarter to pass on it or do you do more Good. By sort of exposing it. And the women that are listening to the Burt show know that this is the kind of thing that's going on online.
Melissa
Okay.
Wendy
And that's what we went with. So if you're a new listener, this is not normal material that we'd say, okay, go to copy, paste and bang right now. If you want to find a girl and you want to get laid this weekend, this is the place to go. That's not what our show is all about. But I do think that there is definitely an important reason to have the dude on. Just if you're a woman and you are online and you're going to places like match.com that there are dudes out there that don't really have much of an interest in really having a relationship with you.
Caller
Right.
Wendy
I just want to hook up and get laid, period. And I think that's what Beaver's intention here is. Hey, Beaver.
Beaver Phillips
Hey, Good morning, guys.
Wendy
Hey, how are you?
Beaver Phillips
I'm doing great. Thanks for having me on the show.
Wendy
All right. Did I get that right? Like, your website is not really one that is one that is dedicated to hooking up great guys with great women and hopefully y' all spend the rest of your lives together.
Beaver Phillips
Well, here's the thing, and I gotta make it very clear right from the beginning, I am not out there in any way, shape or form tricking women. I'm not doing that at all. As a matter of fact, in the book, I preach three main concepts. And the first one is self confidence, the second is humor, and the third is honesty. As a matter of fact, chapter four is called Lying Equals Too much Work. So, you know, again, I'm not out there being deceitful. I'm looking for people with similar interests as mine. And at the end of the day, if two people are getting together and having some fun, I don't see a problem with it. So I know the title is pretty raw, it's pretty crass. But if a person, if a woman's out there and she is looking for that long term relationship, there's a good chance that she's not gonna be getting an email from me.
Wendy
Okay. And what we're gonna ask the women of the show to do here too, because there are three women on the show, is we're gonna ask them to not be part of this conversation for like three minutes. Say whatever you want. But we just sort of know because of the character of the women on her show that they're gonna be reeling to get at you. So we're giving You Three minutes.
Melissa
You don't know that. Melissa. I'm just saying, we're working with each
Wendy
other for eight years.
Jen
Just for the record.
Melissa
Come on.
Jeff
And Jeff has certified our siblings. Come on.
Melissa
Just so you know, get at anybody.
Jen
I could have told you that you would feign protest when Bert said that. That's how well, I knew how you were gonna react.
Bert
What do you mean?
Jen
We're not gonna attack the man.
Melissa
We're just gonna give our opinion. But we will be quiet for three minutes.
Jen
Or five.
Wendy
All right. Beaver, on your website, although you say, hey, look, the rules for hooking up and having sex on the Internet are pretty much the same as if you're looking for somebody long term. From your website, there's a picture of Beaver and it says, Beaver Phillips is a 10 year veteran of the online dating scene. Over the years, he has refined a system which has allowed him to bang a steady stream of ass.
Beaver Phillips
I'm with you. Go ahead.
Wendy
He's like, yeah, and all right, so, I mean, here.
Caller
Jen, don't talk.
Wendy
You're not even here, woman.
Jeff
Sorry, you guys.
Jen
Can't do it.
Wendy
So I just want to establish some honesty here, that this book really is more for hooking up and having sex than it is long term relationships.
Beaver Phillips
Yes and no. And the reason I say no is because there are certain basic principles and concepts that are gonna work for any individual regarding, you know, regardless of whatever you're seeking. So again, I wrote this based on my perspective. We look at the divorce rate today. I believe it's 53% in my mind. You know, think twice if you're looking for the marriage and stuff like that. So again, that's not me. However, even if you are maybe looking for a long term deal, I'm sure the basic concepts and principles are gonna work for you too.
Wendy
All right, so let me ask you this then. If we were trying to expose a guy like you, how would a woman know that a guy is interested in her online just for sex and not a long term relationship?
Beaver Phillips
Good question. And I think there's things that, as you read through the book, there's red flags that would jump out at an individual being, hey, maybe I want to stay away from this guy. But again, I'm not targeting people that are looking for that long term deal as I go through a woman's profile. Well, let me give you, for instance, I use two websites. Do you want me to say the names of them?
Wendy
Sure.
Caller
Okay.
Beaver Phillips
The first one is a free one and it's called plenty of fish.com and the second one is a pay site and I'm sure you've heard of it. It's called match.com.
Wendy
of course.
Beaver Phillips
Yeah, those are the two that I use and I talk about some other ones and I tell my readers, listen, save your time, save your money, stay away from them. But let's take that free one, plenty of fish for a second. On there you have a choice as to what you're looking for and they've got a drop down menu with everything from long term relationship to an intimate encounter and everything in between. So again, if she is looking for that long term deal, I'm not. Even though I'm going to send her a copy and pasted email, I wouldn't bother. Again, I'm only looking for women that share similar interests. Maybe she just got out of a long term deal, isn't looking to jump back in with both feet and just wants to date and have some fun. That's my kind of girl. So what you said, I'm not tricking people.
Wendy
So what you're saying is if there are women out online that are there just for sex, then it's pretty easy to see.
Beaver Phillips
Well, not if, because there are plenty of women out there that are looking to just have a good time. I mean you've got people from all facets all across the board. So again, I'm looking to connect with like minded individuals.
Jen
And how would you address women who may, in the very, very near, future on this show confront you and say that what you're doing is unfair to the women who are signing up for the site for a more legitimate purpose?
Beaver Phillips
Well, I would probably, you know, certainly want to hear their input on it. But again, I know for a fact that there are women out there that are just looking to have some fun. And so I would say, you know, is there really anything wrong with it? I don't believe there is. You got two consenting adults that make sound judgment and decisions and things like that. And really at the end of the day, if two people do connect and they hook up, show me the problem with that. I just, you know, so I'll argue my point, but certainly I look forward to getting everyone's thoughts on it.
Wendy
All right, your free fly zone is over. Here come the winner.
Jeff
Has it been three minutes yet?
Wendy
It has.
Jeff
Okay, so I don't really quite understand what your website does. A guy can go to the website and copy and paste. Paste things you have pre written because that's the name of it. Copy, paste and bang.
Beaver Phillips
No, I'm glad you brought that up because that's one of the things that I do talk about in the book. I didn't hold anything back. I put in this book exactly what I copy and paste to women. But I also advised, listen, here's what I do. If you do exactly what I do, before you know it, there's 50,000 other people in your city sending out the exact same thing. So it's kind of like being at a party telling a joke to a group of five people, but they already heard the joke, it's not so funny anymore. So I strongly encourage my readers, you know, here's what I do, here's some sample ideas, but you know, be original, Try and come up with your own stuff.
Wendy
All right. And again, under the heading of what you'll learn from the book, he writes, I've been meeting women via the Internet and sport effing for over 10 years. Let my years of experience work for you. But what he's saying is there are women out there that are doing the same thing.
Jen
Did you ever think you would have so much in common with Tiger Woods?
Beaver Phillips
No, I didn't. It's been amazing watching the news on that.
Wendy
So you're again now, I don't have the book in front of me, so I don't know if you're BSing or not, but you're saying don't be deceiving like women that you don't even need to be deceiving. If you're looking for a one night stand or you're looking for something physical, there are women there, there are websites there that you can go to.
Beaver Phillips
No question, absolutely, 100%.
Kelly
And you tell these women your intention.
Beaver Phillips
My email is dear hot blonde for you. It's not, I would really like to bang you. You know, again, it's start with humor and try and get some, some dialogue going, some, some funny stuff. And here's what happens, really. The Internet dating will allow me to exchange some emails and hopefully get a phone number. And then once I'm talking to her on the phone, that's really, no pun intended, where the rubber meets the road, because I'll be throwing out some sexy talk, if you will. And if she's not saying what I was hoping to hear, then I'll just try and end it. And I don't want to. Again, if we're not on the same page, we're not on the same page. So I may say something like, listen, you seem like a great person. I sure you're gonna find what you're seeking. I'm not convinced we're a great match, but, you know, it was nice talking with you and I wish you all the best. Again, by the time we get around to meeting in person, it's pretty much been established what we're both looking for. And there's no trickery here.
Jen
Percentage wise. Out of the women you get on the phone, how many of them do you really put the rubber on the road or whatever?
Beaver Phillips
I would say for every 10 people that I talk to on the phone, I only end up meeting one or two in person. So 20%. 15.
Caller
20%.
Jen
Okay. And of the one or two that you meet in person, how many of those do you seal the deal with?
Beaver Phillips
About 90%.
Wendy
Yeah, it's no different than, you know, like, dudes that used to be in my group that would go out into a bar and they would flat out tell. They'd play the numbers. You tell 15 women exactly what you want, immediately 14 of them are gonna be totally turned off and tell you to get lost. But one woman is gonna say, cool, and that's all you need is one for the night.
Beaver Phillips
It's the exact same thing. It's percentages. But one of the things I do in copy paste and bang is a huge comparison. Traditional dating versus Internet dating. And really, I don't think there is a comparison because when I talk about traditional dating, I kind of reference the bar scene. That's tough stuff to walk up to women and approach. And this has happened to me. I've gone up to a woman to say, ho. And she's looked at me and said, I don't think so. Because, you know, that's tough. I'm no Brad Pitt. I'm more like the Pitt. But so, you know, it's hard for a guy. And that's the beauty of the Internet dating. Her rejection is she doesn't reply to your email. Well, big, big deal. You just copy and paste some more emails. So it's very similar, though. You're right. It is kind of a numbers game. And again, I know that not everybody out there is looking for. For what I'm looking for. I get that. I completely understand.
Wendy
Here is Nicole. She wants to be on the voice disguiser. Hey, Nicole.
Misty
Good morning.
Wendy
We can't recognize you.
Misty
I love you guys.
Wendy
Thank you.
Misty
I just wanted to say that I am one of the girls that loves not being in a relationship. Currently, I'm in a relationship with a guy where I started out saying this is just going to be sex or a fling or whatever. And the more we got into it, the More. He wanted a relationship. And that was aggravating to me.
Caller
I totally.
Misty
I mean, like, he's nice or whatever, but I'm not like super, super attracted to him. His personality kind of gets on the nerves. He's sometimes a little immature.
Melissa
Wow.
Misty
And so I. I'm having a hard time. I'm ready to stop talking to him just because I don't want to date him. I don't want to be in a relationship with him. So I think the just sex thing is great.
Wendy
And I think what Beaver is saying here is that there are plenty of women online that are just like. I mean, it's more and more common now to talk about this, that guys have needs and women have needs, and women outside the Voice disguiser are becoming more comfortable with just saying, you know what, it's an even playing field now.
Kelly
If guys only target those girls, then I think it works. But if you're target targeting another woman who's not in for that, then it doesn't work.
Melissa
There's nothing to attack. I mean, I think it's so funny that you thought we would go off, but, I mean, I thought it was
Wendy
gonna be a lot of discuss deception at first, but there's no deception here.
Melissa
Yeah, if you're being honest, who cares?
Jeff
Consenting adults. And like you said, he's playing the numbers. And I think women should learn from that too. I mean, I do think women can learn to meet men on the Internet by playing the numbers too. You know, if one guy doesn't write you back, then send out 15 more.
Melissa
Right.
Jen
Don't obsess over that one dude.
Jeff
Exactly. I think women do that, like, and they'll focus on one guy's perfect profile, one guy's perfect picture, and just be like, all waiting for him to write back or something. It's just like, put it out there and see what happens. You know, you're not going to know until you meet him in person.
Beaver Phillips
Anyway, two quick things, if I may. Number one is I've had a lot of female readers that have also read the book, and I've gotten great feedback. If anybody goes to the website, they can go to the blog section and see what people are reading about it. But the point I wanted to make is there are a ton of women out there on these Internet dating websites. And whether you're a guy or a girl or you're bi or straight or gay or metro, you've got competition out there. And one of the things in the book, because I'm not blessed with those good looks, you've got to figure out ways to separate yourself from the competition. So again, I think it's going to be beneficial for anyone. Number two, is that Nicole still on the line?
Wendy
She is not.
Beaver Phillips
You want her, you want her username?
Wendy
Hey, Melissa, go ahead, you're on Q100.
Caller
Hey, good morning, guys. I just kind of wanted to back up what Nicole was saying. I mean, I'm in the same situation. I don't want to spend hours and hours dating people only to find out we're not sexually compatible. If you're only out there for sex, all of us don't want to be married and with husbands and all of those other types of things, we just want to kind of hook up, do our thing and move along as well. Therefore it's kind of the same thing. You kind of type in what you're interested in but and kind of wait to see what response you get. But generally the women don't really have to send emails out. We're generally the ones receiving them. So we can just kind of filter through, you know, each one of the guys and see the ones that we're interested in responding to. And I mean, it's much quicker to get down to business than it is, like I said, going to bars or meeting people and dating. And if you're only interested in sex only to find out you're not sexually compatible. So it's a very quick way to filter out, you know, that person has the same sexual interests that you have and is interested in, you know, not having a relationship or having a relationship or whatever. It just makes it so much easier.
Wendy
Hey beaver, are there some beaver, are there some women that just send out the wrong message like they don't realize what you want yet they're sending you the wrong message because they're using the wrong wording in their emails or whatever?
Beaver Phillips
Yeah, I think so. I believe in a lot of it too is some of the pictures that they put on there. That's one thing that I'll look for is not necessarily as far as her looks, but what types of pictures does she have posted? If they're these party girl pictures where she's, you know, wearing a lot of low cut shirts and bikini pictures and she's always got a drink in her hand, she's kind of sending out that message, hey, you know, I'm a wild one, I'm a party one and there's other things I look for. It's not just the types of photos. But yeah, I think some people do get in trouble unaware they're unaware of kind of the message they're sending out. I gotta say this, though. I am loving your callers that Melissa, that we did for you.
Kelly
Need to start putting Atlanta in your search.
Jen
You know, what we need to do is we need to have everybody who comes on the air with them has to start with their screen name. Do you want to give out your plenty of fish screen name?
Beaver Phillips
Oh, I would love to. It's thebe 407 2000.
Wendy
Thebe 407 2000. You know, and here's the beauty, is that anybody that emails him knows what his intention is. So he hits on a 100% level.
Caller
Absolutely.
Jeff
And if you're hitting it 100%, that means you've got some experience, so you might actually be good at it.
Beaver Phillips
This is great. I mean, sometimes I get some real bitter. Betty's calling in, yelling and screaming at me. But you're a listening audience. So far your callers have been wonderful.
Jen
We're very sexually liberal down here.
Wendy
Hey, Patty, go ahead. You're on the Voice.
Caller
Well, what I was going to say
Misty
is that I actually do both types of Internet dating. I sort of maintain two completely different online Personas. One is very traditional, very me. You know, long term dating. Would love to find somebody wonderful. But I also do the short term. Here's what I want. Very specific. You know, it can be short term one night, or it can even be ongoing, but just purely physical. And never the two shall meet
Jen
Beaver.
Beaver Phillips
Well, the only thing that comes to my mind, as long as you're being honest and if you've got these two separate ones, are you being 100% honest in each different profile?
Wendy
Yeah. Look at beaver sticking up for the guys. Now, you don't want to be deceiving to the guys.
Caller
No, 100%.
Misty
I never meet somebody on a date. Like, and not to be blunt, but. But the speed of which we hit the bedroom is very different on both sides.
Wendy
And do you use two different websites for that?
Misty
Yes, absolutely.
Wendy
Which is the more physical website and which is the I'm not looking for the physical website.
Misty
Match and Craigslist are physical, like eharmony. Eharmony is really the other online.
Jen
Craigslist isn't even even question. Craigslist is like dress up like a cop and pretend to arrest me.
Wendy
Spit cheese on my shoes.
Jen
Right.
Caller
Oh, my God.
Jen
Be some oozing involved in the Craigslist posting.
Melissa
Yeah, see, I'm not gonna get mad at Beaver, but I'll get mad at you.
Wendy
Save that because that'll have completely different. Completely Completely different meaning coming from Melissa.
Melissa
And that is 100% honesty.
Beaver Phillips
Right?
Jen
Well played, Mr. Weiss.
Wendy
Hey, Christian, go ahead, you're on the voice disguiser.
Misty
I just wanted to agree with, with everything that he's saying. I remember when I was younger that I definitely did that. And there are definitely women out there who definitely go out on the Internet and they know what they want, they know what they're looking for, and they get it. And I don't necessarily think it's wrong now. I'm also happily married now, you know, so I definitely don't do that kind of stuff anym. More and more of a, you know, a full time, you know, relationship. You know, I've been in this relationship with this guy for the past three years. You know, we're just got married. But I definitely agree that there are women out there who do this and, you know, if that's their thing, that's their thing. I don't think there's, you know, anything wrong with it. As long as they're kind of putting it out there, this is what they want and not kind of beating around the bush, you know. And I had friends too when I was in high school who went out and was blatantly, you know, on the Internet, meet up with guys and get it done and never talk to them again, you know. So I don't disagree with anything that you're saying. And if that's what you do, you know, there are definitely women out there who do the same thing.
Wendy
Hey, Beaver, you were saying that there were a couple of different things you said specifically you target women with profile pictures that are a little bit more sexy, a little more party. And you said there are a couple of other things you look for also, but you sort of breezed right over those. Can you give us a couple more of those?
Beaver Phillips
Yeah, sure. A couple things maybe. Because each time when you do sign up for one of these Internet dating websites, you've got to come up with like a screen name on there. If she's got something, I'm just pulling this off the top of my head, but something like seeking future husband or something like that, that's kind of going to be a deterrent. Whereas if she's got booty call for you or something like that, you know, that's a green light for me. You know, it's funny, I was just listening to that caller. I know she was struggling to say the word beaver, which isn't my real name. It's Steve. But I had some family members when they found out I was Writing this book, they're like, please don't use your real name. And that's been my nickname since I was three. So that explains the whole beaver thing. But, you know, and then the caller said something about, you know, when she was back in high school, she had some friends that would go out doing this. And I'm 37, so I'm thinking, man, am I ever gonna grow up? Probably not.
Jeff
Probably not.
Wendy
Not if you're using the name Beaver. No, you're not.
Beaver Phillips
Right?
Jeff
Has anybody ever told you you sound like Seth Rogen from Knocked Up?
Caller
No.
Beaver Phillips
No, I haven't heard that.
Jeff
I feel like we've been having the conversation this whole time with the dude from Knocked Up. He'd have the start across from Katherine Heigl.
Jen
Jen clearly wants to have sex with you.
Beaver Phillips
That works. Jen, you coming to Orlando anytime soon?
Jeff
No, sorry.
Wendy
You can look her up on Sexy Jan Doomy.
Jen
Yeah, controversial. You're talking about the women's screen names. And just a heads up to the ladies, if the guy you're talking to has Beaver in his name, I'm pretty sure he's gonna want the sex.
Wendy
Hey, Beaver, the name of the book again is copy paste and bang. What he basically does is tell you, look, if you want to hook up on the Internet women, you're giving out a vibe to let guys know you want to hook up. And guys, if you're clueless about it, here's a book that can tell you exactly what the signs are to look for.
Caller
Right?
Wendy
All right, dude. Appreciate your time, ma'.
Jeff
Am.
Beaver Phillips
Hey, thanks, guys. I really appreciate you having me on the show. One last thing. I don't know if you'd be interested, but if you've got maybe some listeners out there, certainly if there's some guy listeners that would like to put the book to the test, I'd be more than happy to get that person a free copy, have them read it, and kind of coach them through how to set up a profile and things like that, and we can get back on the air in a couple weeks if again, if you're interested, talk about their successes, because this book is idiot proof. A guy's not going to fail if he reads it. It works.
Wendy
Let me put you on hold. I just don't know how I feel about endorsing guys going online and checking back in with them if they got. If they had sex.
Jeff
Well, they took the callers.
Kelly
The women are open to it.
Wendy
Yeah, women are just as many women there. I wonder what would happen if a woman read the book.
Jen
Bert we can do it. Here's how I'm going to get Bert to do it.
Caller
It.
Jeff
Okay.
Jen
We pick the guy. And it has to be a guy who would struggle to meet a girl.
Kimmere
Yeah.
Jen
Otherwise.
Jeff
And then we get that.
Wendy
Why don't we both kick out of our own pool?
Beaver Phillips
We?
Jen
You ain't putting me in that position with any of my friends.
