Radio Host 3
You had to be pretty happy watching American Idol last night and feel a lot of pride for Atlanta because they were raving about our city and all the talent that was coming out of here last night.
Radio Host 4
Carol was like, I am loving Atlanta. Like, so excited. They found tons of people and you know, in those montages for American Idol where they. They show you person after person after person running out of the doors with that yellow paper, which means they're going to Hollywood. It was a lot of people from Atlanta last night. Way more than they could focus on, like, per story. I mean, it was. There was tons of people from here and who auditioned here at the Georgia dome who are going out to Hollywood.
Radio Host 3
Christy murdy is on hold right now, and she's listening. She's like, I know there are a lot, but one of them wasn't me, which was a bummer, because she has, like, this bigger than life personality. But here she was on the. On the show last night.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
All right, you're 25, from Atlanta, and
Radio Host 2
it says you're a TV show host.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
What do you host?
Caller or Guest
I am.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
It's called 411 the show, and it's all about the fiery 411 on what makes Atlantis so darn hot. Whoa. You're like a walking commercial.
Radio Host 3
Atlanta violation.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
I would love to sing for y'. All. Pat benatar's love is a battlefield. Do it. Ho ho, ho. We are young Heartache to heartache we stand with no promises, no demand.
Radio Host 3
So she's belting it out here, and in a couple of seconds, the judges are gonna get pretty mean with her.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
No one can tell us we're wrong. Searching our hearts for so long Both of us know we love is a battlefield.
Radio Host 3
Thank you.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
It is, girl.
Caller or Guest
Wow.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
It is. Wow. This is my battlefield today because this is my love. Singing is my life. Music is my passion. I would really love to go to Hollywood.
Radio Host 3
Well, not based on that audition you won't be.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Christy.
Caller or Guest
It was a terrible version of the song.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Honey, it's not gonna work out. We got our own 411 for you. This is not. Shouldn't be your career. Sweetie, you seem like a really sweet girl.
Radio Host 3
I think it's more of a 911.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Yeah, exactly. Emergency.
Radio Host 4
Mean Simon.
Radio Host 3
They were being mean Simon.
Radio Host 2
You know what? I wish this is your last season of the show.
Radio Host 3
Hey, Christi Marie.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Hi.
Radio Host 3
How are you?
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
You know what's actually really funny is they don't show you, like, half the stuff that they filmed. Like, they had cameras on me from the minute I walked in that door Till the moment I left. And they weren't doing that with anybody else. So I was like, oh, for sure. I'm on the show. You know, I've been busting out singing all day long. Random people have been coming up to me, being like, oh, my God, you're so good. You're so good. So I was like, okay, no problem. I'm just gon, you know, not let my nerves get the best of me. And I was just so nervous in front of Mary j. Blige, One of my personal idols, you know, and it was just, like, right there. I got so nervous I just got way into it and was just so over dramatic and theatrical. I did the ugly face. You know, anyone like things they know about the ugly face. So I just cannot believe that, you know, that's what came out. But the good thing is it all happens for a reason. Because now I, you know, I'm doing like six radio interviews today where each radio station is playing my single release. And, you know, I recorded in a studio. I've been singing since I was 4. You know, I've been in the studio with Luda even, you know, and with 411, the show coming into our third season now on Iong TV starting January 31st, and with my celebrity blog on 411, the show.com, like, I am the happiest girl in the world. I feel like the luckiest girl in the A right now. You know, people at the LA Fitness last night, as I was, you know, practicing with my dance troupe, See Marie and the Heat, because we'd be bringing the fire, they were coming up to me being like, did I just see you on American Idol? You know, and they were telling me that I look so great. And, you know, people out of the woodworks from, like elementary, middle and high school were, you know, sending me encouraging messages telling me not to give up, just keep pursuing my dream, keep singing. Don't worry what they say. You know, they're just a small few opposed to. They see, like, this is my passion.
Radio Host 3
Kristi, let me ask you this.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
I was in the studio last night practicing how to drop it low in heels while singing and dancing at the same time. If that's not dedication, if that's not commitment, I don't know what is.
Radio Host 3
As you were watching it last night because you didn't realize until last night how they were going to portray you. So are you in a room full of people at that point and you all are gathered for a big American Idol watching party or are you alone?
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
At that point, I was at Sam's Ask Goody store buying my first wireless headset mic for my performances coming up. So I had forgotten about it, and my mom called me, and then my sister called me, and my phone just started blowing up.
Radio Host 2
You keep the receipt on that microphone.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Rehearsals right after you forgot American.
Radio Host 3
You forgot you were going to be on American Idol?
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Well, I didn't forget. I knew it was going to air sometime soon. I started hearing, like, commercials and, you know, promos. But, you know, after I didn't make it, like, I still kept going. You know, I don't stop my train Just because she doesn't like the way I conduct it.
Radio Host 3
Or four. Or four.
Radio Host 2
Bert, she's on 411 the show. Bringing the heat.
Radio Host 3
I know.
Radio Host 2
And moving her feet in LA Fitness. Feeling the beat, dropping it, cooking the meat.
Radio Host 4
You gotta tell her about the Hotlanta thing, though.
Radio Host 3
Yeah, that's where you. That's where you probably lost our audience right there. As. We started this campaign a couple of months ago to stop using Hotlanta when referring to Atlanta. And I mean, we've talked to major celebrities about it, and we really felt like we were making some. Some headwind here. And then last night, you dropped the hot Lana as and as a local.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Five times.
Radio Host 3
Say again?
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Like four or five times.
Radio Host 3
You set our campaign back months. Months. Months.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
You know, I'm taking it back. I'm taking the word hot land and back. Because I report the 411 on what makes Hotlanta so darn hot. So you absolutely cannot stop people from saying hot Lana.
Radio Host 3
Well, if you continue to use hot Lana, it will prove to people that it's not a hot show, because people know that.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Are you serious?
Radio Host 3
Yes.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Oh, no, no, no, no, no. People love my catchphrase. So darn hot. You just can't help but love it. I mean, I totally disagree with you. I think all of ATL's nicknames, from a town to the ATL to Home Sweet Atlanta, you just gotta love it all.
Radio Host 4
I've never heard Home sweet Atlanta.
Radio Host 3
No, I have not heard.
Radio Host 4
I've never heard Home Sweet Atlanta before. Was that an original one for your show?
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
I'm singing Home Sweet Alabama, and instead of Alabama, I just put Atlanta.
Radio Host 2
How does that.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Sweet home. That's what it is. Sweet home Atlanta. Sweet home Atlanta.
Radio Host 4
Okay, so take on the show. Do you have your own version of that song? You should record that.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
You know, it's just when I'm busting out, when the radio's on, Sweet home Alabama comes on. And I've never even been to Alabama, you know, except maybe driving through. So I just, you know, replace the word with Atlanta. Makes sense.
Radio Host 3
So are most people. When you got these calls, were they saying, oh, my God, Kristi, they are hammering you on American Idol right now, or were they saying, hey, you looked good, but the judges just didn't, Wasn't. Weren't digging it so much?
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
No, because they've been letting me dish the fiery 411 on what's been going on. Fiery 411, American Idol. So, I mean, everything from 411, the show being in our third season airing on January 31st on Iong TV. To me and my dance troupe see Marie and the Heat taking our act to NBC's America's Got Talent.
Radio Host 2
Where is this season? Is this Iontv? Is this a website?
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Yeah,411theshow.com. It's where my celebrity blog, C. Marie. Hot on the scene is all the juicy gossip.
Radio Host 4
Okay, so your stage name is C. Marie, not Christy Marie.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Oh, Christy Marie. C. Marie Sassy.
Radio Host 2
C. Sweet home Christy Marie.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Got it.
Radio Host 2
Christy Lanta, baby.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
C. If I get too sassy.
Radio Host 3
Well, we can't endorse your shows. If you're not going to endorse our campaign to stop Atlanta, then we're going to have to discontinue this. Because, I mean, we've got.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
We are dedicated to keeping at Aliens in the know. Okay, we'll refer to the ATL with AP. Aliens will limit the amount of hot Lanas that we use in our segment.
Caller or Guest
We would appreciate that, but you know,
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Hot Lana is darn hot.
Radio Host 2
Does anyone else want to drill?
Radio Host 3
Appreciate your time. Thank you very much. I'm sorry you weren't portrayed in a better light on American Idol last night. Good luck.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
It's okay. I do appreciate all the love and support from all my ATL family and friends. And I love Q100.
Radio Host 3
Thank you.
Radio Host 4
Thank you.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
Keep on playing. Especially get me to it.
Radio Host 2
Drop it like it's hot. Sweet home. Oh, my God. She has a boyfriend. He plays in traffic a lot.
Christy Marie (C. Marie)
How about that?
Radio Host 3
He can't get born in your hockey 100.
Caller or Guest
Oh, my God. If I heard another cliche from that girl. Simon was right. There's a reason why she didn't make it to Hollywood.
Radio Host 2
You're about to. You're about to turn the dial like it's hot. Dropping it.
Radio Host 3
Hey, John, good Morning. You're on Q100.
Caller or Guest
Hey, Bert. How you guys this morning?
Radio Host 3
Confused.
Caller or Guest
Yeah, this girl is like the female version of Mick Boosh. That guy from a few weeks or months ago that was all loving himself. He's like. She's like the female version of him bringing the heat. And Hot Lana, man, she just needs to stick with Atlanta. No, none of the other stuff.
Radio Host 4
I agree with him. There are such thing as chick booshes. And she's close to that category.
Radio Host 2
She boosh. She boosh. She boosh.
Radio Host 4
It's a boosh chick. Whatever.
Radio Host 2
Sweet Home Boost chick.
Radio Host 3
She's just trying too hard. Like the other dudes were arrogant. I don't think she's arrogant. I just think she's trying too hard.
Radio Host 2
She's trying to sell. She's trying to sell the show.
Radio Host 4
Hey, she should sell the shamwow.
Radio Host 2
Yeah, the bird show.
Date: June 9, 2026
Theme/Purpose:
This episode centers on Atlanta local and American Idol contestant Christy Marie (“C. Marie”), who calls into The Bert Show after her much-lampooned appearance on the show. The hosts dissect her segment, her reaction to the judges’ harsh criticism, and her unshakable confidence and hustle in the face of public embarrassment. The tone is playful, a bit roasty, but ultimately supportive as the hosts and audience discuss resilience, self-promotion, and Atlanta pride (with a side debate on the nickname “Hotlanta”).
[07:15-08:46] The hosts good-naturedly mock C. Marie for repeatedly calling Atlanta “Hotlanta”—which they’re trying to retire.
A side conversation arises where C. Marie riffs on other ATL nicknames (“Sweet Home Atlanta”), leading to playful confusion.
The tone is lively and irreverent, with listeners brought into the mix via call-ins and the cast’s banter. The hosts ride the line between good-natured teasing and genuine encouragement—admiring C. Marie’s hustle even as they lampoon her cliches and relentless self-promotion.
This episode uses Christy Marie’s brief and bumpy brush with American Idol as a jumping-off point to discuss Atlanta identity, tenacity in the entertainment industry, and how memorable personalities can turn setbacks into self-made opportunities. If things don’t work out on Idol, says C. Marie, there’s always another show, another gig, and another chance to “bring the heat.”
