All new drinks are now at McDonald's with refreshers like the Strawberry Watermelon Refresher and the Mango Pineapple Refresher with popping Boba to crafted sodas like the Sprite Berry Blast with berry flavors and cold foam. Who knew ice cold drinks could be so fire six? All new drinks are here now at McDonald's.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Refreshers contain caffeine. The Birch Show Josh has supplied me the audio from Chili's reality TV show with Dolvet. I haven't heard the whole thing yet.
Jen
Oh, I haven't watched it yet. I went to a luncheon yesterday and he was the topic of conversation at one of the tables. Apparently, one of the women at the table is friends of Chili.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Oh, really? For those of you that don't know, I have a friend, Dolvett, who was on this reality TV show with Chilli this week. What is it when a date with Chili or Chili wants everything? What Chili wants what Chili wants or something. And Dolvett was one of the first to go on a date with her. And I think he got beat up pretty badly. I haven't seen it yet, but I keep getting tweets and I keep getting texts about it because I guess they're showing it over and over and over again. And I, like, feel the need to stick up for my friend, but I haven't heard any of it yet.
Bretzky
He's just Dolvett.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Yeah, but it's a. Is it a bad version of Dolvett or is it. If you know him, tell me, Jen, what do you want to say? I can see Jen's faces.
Jen
No, I haven't seen it yet. Or. Or heard it. I just heard the conversation yesterday about how, like. And the only part of the conversation yesterday was that he walked into that thing thinking that he was going to be, you know, Mr. Big Time and that his looks would get him through the whole thing. And that Chili saw through that right away.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
She chopped him down right away. Here's the first clip that he gave me. This is Dolvett pre interview during a Braves game. So I guess they bring a woman in. Maybe it's a good friend of Chili's that sort of does a pre screening.
Caller or Guest (possibly Kim or Lady Luck)
The matchmaker.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
The matchmaker.
Bretzky
Dating woman.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
And she sets Dolvett up with Chilli. She thinks that they're a pretty good match. And they set a Braves game and a suite.
Interviewer or Commentator
Dolvette was fine. Honey, what do you know about Chilli?
Chilli
I know she's a mom. I know she used to date Usher.
Interviewer or Commentator
She used to date Usher? Does that intimidate you?
Chilli
No.
Interviewer or Commentator
So what do you do for a living?
Chilli
I own a personal training studio.
Interviewer or Commentator
Okay. Can I see your stomach? Cause I have to make sure that it's nice.
Jen
The music, of course, is here. It works.
Bretzky
Do you think he was nervous lifting up his shirt right there in front of everybody?
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
I think so. That's such an odd thing for him to do. Right. Okay, so nothing there really to be concerned with. Then he meets Chilli for the first time.
Interviewer or Commentator
Dovette, this is Chilli. Chilli, this is Dovette. I just gave him a pre interview. So what do you think?
Dolvette
She kind of presented him to me like some meat on a platter.
Interviewer or Commentator
Dolvett, you popular.
Dolvette
I mean, don't get me wrong, Dolvett is not bad looking. He just wasn't quite my type.
Interviewer or Commentator
What would Jesus do? You know what Jesus would do?
Chilli
Jesus would go talk to Chili.
Interviewer or Commentator
All right.
Dolvette
He has this little suave thing about him. Like, hi, I'm Dolvette.
Chilli
Nice to meet you all.
Dolvette
Take care.
Interviewer or Commentator
Bye.
Chilli
Bye.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Okay. And he. I mean, we can all agree that Dolvett has a Dolvette swagger.
Bretzky
Yeah, he wears sunglasses into the studio at 7:30 in the morning.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Over the top too. Over the top for sure. All right, next clip. I guess Chili's being convinced to give Dolvett a try because she's not feeling them not vibing on him. Dolvett, like I'm playing these clips cuz I'm trying to figure out like what. I've been getting a lot of negative tweets and, and, and text. So I'm just trying to figure out what happened on this show.
Jen
Right.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
And so far. Okay, I'm not hearing anything. That's too bad.
Bretzky
Yet they haven't gone on their date yet.
Interviewer or Commentator
Go back. Why did you make that face?
Dolvette
Just look wise. He's just not for me.
Interviewer or Commentator
Besides the looks, he has everything on your checklist. He has his own training studio. Jezebel magazine rated him the number one bachelor In Atlanta. He's the bomb.
Dolvette
It's just something I pick up.
Interviewer or Commentator
I don't know.
Dolvette
Like I wouldn't enjoy that date.
Interviewer or Commentator
I just think you can't, you know, judge people off of just one look.
Dolvette
Okay, I'm sold. I'm going to do it.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
All right, so they go out on a date, and they go to Stone Mountain together.
Jen
She twists her arm to do it. Okay, I'm going to go.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
She's not into it from the start.
Jen
Yeah, she didn't even want to.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Yeah, she's already met him. Not her type. She knows it, but she's going on this date anyway.
Jen
Okay.
Chilli
Tell me something about you.
Dolvette
Tell me about you. Do you have any kids?
Chilli
I do. I have a son.
Dolvette
You do? How old is your boy?
Chilli
13.
Dolvette
Oh, he lives here?
Chilli
No, he lives in Virginia.
Caller or Guest (possibly Kim or Lady Luck)
Okay.
Dolvette
Do you talk to him every day?
Chilli
No, not every day. Uh. Oh, I wish I could say every day, but I can't.
Dolvette
All right, to me, you should talk to your kid every day. There's no reason for one day to go by that you don't talk to your kid. So that was a turn off for me. I didn't like that.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Okay, so there's the source of some of the. The texts I got right there that he's not talking to his child.
Jen
What were the texts saying to you?
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Let me try to rephrase them. Dillette has a kid, all in capital letters.
Jen
Well, that's our reaction when we first started listening.
Interviewer or Commentator
We ain't here today.
Bretzky
That is kind of a. Oh, let
Chilli
me see if I still have him.
Jen
Yeah, we didn't know.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Nobody in here knew. I mean, I've known him for years, but, yeah, he didn't talk all that much about him, and he doesn't talk about him every day. And that turned Chili off. And to be totally honest with you, I mean, even if Delvette was in here, if I was dating a woman and she said she didn't talk to her kid every day.
Interviewer or Commentator
Yeah.
Jen
No, I think I understand why she's turned off.
Bretzky
Do you think if. So.
Jen
I think. I mean, I think you also have to hear more of the story. You know, you don't know what it's like with the ex, if she's made it really difficult for him to see. You know, we're, like, instantly judging the situation, but you don't know what it is. I mean, you'd hope that he would still want to talk to his kid every day, but you don't know if the ex has made it that situation or if it's because of where his priorities are.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
And that's a great point.
Jen
He talks about it, about his kid. You know, the ex has nothing to do with the fact of you talking about your child.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
And that's a great point about reality TV shows also, is they're gonna show you that one side. But Jen's right. We really don't know what's going on on the other side. Maybe he wants to.
Chilli
Maybe we should get up here and race you to the top.
Dolvette
See, I can tell you, you know, you're a show off. I can sing this. Yeah, you show off. Try to show off. Like, you know, showing off all your muscles.
Chilli
You gotta work out with me sometime. I want you to come to the studio and kind of see what I do.
Dolvette
There's the voice. Got the 1900 voice. Yes, you do. I'm saying, you know how to turn it on. Turn it off.
Chilli
What are you talking. Turn what on? What are you talking about?
Dolvette
I think he looks in the mirror and he's like, dolvette, you are bad as hell.
Chilli
That's what you do. Yeah.
Dolvette
You say it's all about image.
Chilli
Yeah.
Bretzky
Mm.
Chilli
I know.
Dolvette
I told Teiana I'd give Dahvette a chance, but so far, I'm not saying anything that would change my first impression of him.
Jen
It's all sound effects in here. He's just not a type.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
And I want to. And I want to say Dolvett's not the kind of guy that would. That thinks he's badass, but I can't do that.
Bretzky
No. Like, all you're like, oh, well, you know, they edit. You know, Dolvett's thing to you is how they edit it. But, like, we all have known Dolvett for, you know, years, at least five, right? Yeah. And he is. He is the most charming person that I know. Like, he has that. That charm. But sometimes it doesn't work on everybody. And I think when it doesn't work, it just.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
You crash and burn.
Bretzky
It just really goes.
Caller or Guest (possibly Kim or Lady Luck)
It really goes.
Interviewer or Commentator
It doesn't work.
Bretzky
Yeah, it really doesn't work.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
It's not a gentle landing.
Dolvette
No. Just because you can check off a bunch of things on my checklist does not mean it's the right guy for me. Sometimes you just know when it's the wrong guy. And Dolvett was the wrong guy. He was egotistical, and that is a turn off for me. You know, I think I should add that to my list. No egos. I did not enjoy that. I didn't enjoy one moment of that.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Damn. What do you think she was trying to say there at the very end?
Jen
You know, women just speak so cryptically. They don't really say what they really want.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Because if I'm doing, I'm hearing, I think I got a. I think I got a chance.
Dolvette
Door's still open.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Hey, Kim. Good Morning. You're on Q100.
Caller or Guest (possibly Kim or Lady Luck)
Good morning.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Hey, how are you?
Caller or Guest (possibly Kim or Lady Luck)
I'm good. How are you doing?
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Okay. That's the first time I've actually had a chance to listen to those things.
Caller or Guest (possibly Kim or Lady Luck)
So you have to watch the episode, Bert. I can't believe you haven't watched the episode. It's online. You don't have to wait for it to come on tv.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
It's painful, though.
Jen
Like, what kind of friend are you? You're a deadbeat friend.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
I'm a good friend because I knew it didn't turn out well, and I didn't want to watch it. I didn't want to see it.
Caller or Guest (possibly Kim or Lady Luck)
It's really not that bad. It really isn't hurtful to Dolvette that much. I mean, Tilly just jumps down his throat and there's really not. She could have done. She could have been the most charming person in the world. She had a guard up from the get go.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
So I told her this when she was in the studio with us a couple of weeks ago. I just don't buy the whole premise of the show at all. Because when Chili's in here, she's the cutest little thing, and she's charming in her own right also. And for you to come on in here and tell me that you're having a tough time finding a date in this country when you're still traveling and touring and doing all your things, I just don't buy it.
Bretzky
That's what Dolvett should have done. He should have flipped it around on her. Like when she said, oh, there's the voice, he goes, oh, there's the V.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
Everything she said, he says, right?
Bretzky
I didn't like him because he was egotistical. I didn't like her because she was egotistical. Now, just out of curiosity, how I would say Dovette owes you at least six months of free training for covering this at 5:50 in the morning rather than 8:15.
Host (possibly Bert or Bert's friend)
I was so eager to listen to him this morning that I don't think
Bretzky
I could have waited the Birch Show.
Dolvette
Hey, everybody.
Caller or Guest (possibly Kim or Lady Luck)

In this lively segment, The Bert Show crew dives into Chilli’s candid remarks about Dolvett from their recent reality TV dating episode. Host Bert and the usual crew (Jen, Bretzky, and others) dissect the on-screen dynamic between Chilli—of TLC fame—and Dolvett Quince, fitness trainer and familiar friend of the show. With a mix of playful banter and thoughtful commentary, the hosts listen to audio from the episode, unpack the drama, and offer unfiltered reactions from both personal and production perspectives.
[00:58] Host explains they've received audio clips from Dolvett's dating episode with Chilli but haven't reviewed them yet.
[01:08–01:22] Jen shares that Dolvett was a hot topic at a recent luncheon, mainly that he seemed overly confident and was quickly seen through by Chilli.
"He walked into that thing thinking that he was going to be, you know, Mr. Big Time and that his looks would get him through...and Chilli saw through that right away." – Jen (01:22)
[02:16] Clip: Dolvett is pre-screened by a matchmaker at a Braves game to see if he might be a fit for Chilli.
[02:41] Chilli seems matter-of-fact when told Dolvett is attractive but not "her type."
Interviewer: “Dolvett, you popular.”
Chilli: “I mean, don’t get me wrong, Dolvett is not bad looking. He just wasn’t quite my type.” (03:23)
[03:39] Joking about Dolvett’s signature swagger—"He wears sunglasses into the studio at 7:30 in the morning." – Bretzky
[04:13] The crew notes Chilli is not into Dolvett from the start but gets talked into a date at Stone Mountain.
[04:54] Small talk on the date is awkward, focusing quickly on family.
Chilli: "I do [have a son]."
Dolvett: "You do? How old is your boy?"
Chilli: "13...He lives in Virginia." (05:00–05:03)
[05:12] Dolvett’s strong stance on daily communication with children creates tension.
“To me, you should talk to your kid every day. There's no reason for one day to go by that you don't talk to your kid. So that was a turn-off for me. I didn't like that.” – Dolvett (05:12)
The hosts and Jen immediately debate Dolvett’s attitude, noting it’s harsh to judge without knowing the full backstory (whether custody issues exist, etc.).
Bert admits he’d also be "put off" if a parent didn’t talk to their child every day.
"Even if Delvette was in here, if I was dating a woman and she said she didn't talk to her kid every day..." – Bert (05:44)
[06:38–08:11] The date continues with flirtatious banter and jabs about image and ego. Chilli makes it clear that she’s not feeling a connection.
“Just because you can check off a bunch of things on my checklist does not mean it's the right guy for me. Sometimes you just know...he was egotistical, and that is a turn-off for me.” – Chilli (08:10)
Crew discussion: Dolvett's charm is noted, but it’s acknowledged that his “swagger” can easily crash and burn when it doesn’t land.
“When it doesn't work, it just...crash and burn.” – Host/Bretzky (08:06)
[08:48] Listener “Kim” calls in, encouraging Bert to watch the episode online and says it wasn’t that bad for Dolvett, just that Chilli had her guard up from the very start.
[09:28] Bert admits he's skeptical of the show premise, finding it hard to believe Chilli has trouble finding dates given her charm and status.
Bretzky jokes Dolvett should mirror back Chilli's comments, suggesting both were stubbornly egotistical.
"I didn't like him because he was egotistical. I didn't like her because she was egotistical." – Bretzky (09:57)
[10:11] Bert jokes that Dolvett owes him free personal training for covering all the drama so early in the morning.
“He walked into that thing thinking that he was going to be, you know, Mr. Big Time and that his looks would get him through...and Chilli saw through that right away.”
— Jen ([01:22])

This episode showcases the Bert Show crew doing what they do best—mixing humor, candid conversation, and listener interaction while dissecting reality TV drama. Chilli’s frank assessment of Dolvett (“not my type,” “egotistical”) and Dolvett’s bluntness about parenting triggered lively debate about chemistry, expectations, and the reality of matchmaking shows. The key insight? Authentic connection can't be forced, even when you “tick all the boxes,” and sometimes TV editing just can't change real first impressions.
For fans of reality TV analysis, lighthearted scrutiny, and good-spirited ribbing among friends, this segment offers both laughs and moments of real talk—plus a few zingers you’ll want to repeat.
