Alright, the assignment this weekend for Brandon, our intern. Brandon's at Mike Music told us he had no game, so we sent him out with my friend Dolvett, who's got plenty of game for both of them to learn a little bit. The only thing I know is that Brandon came back in this morning and he said he's got a new Ike song and a new attitude. There you go.
Brandon
It was one of the most interesting nights of my life.
Host
Interesting night.
Brandon
Interesting.
Host
Interesting, yes. All right, how does the night start Here?
Brandon
It starts off that I get a call from Dovette on Friday afternoon right before we go to coach the game. And he's like, I'm gonna call you Saturday. It's gonna be a big day, be ready for it. So Saturday, wake up, get another call, says he wants me to go get my haircut, which nobody beforehand had ever said anything bad about my hair. Said I need to shave, which nobody has said anything bad about the pride of the goatee I was working on.
Host
We hinted at it a little bit
Dolvett
on Friday and you still have the goatee.
Brandon
So I mean, I can't shave this off for us. I look like I'm 12, so I still get ID to go buy lotto tickets.
Dolvett
So if it was up to me, it'd be a head to toe transformation, by the way. But that's just me. Go B.
Brandon
So I went to Rooster's. They hooked me up over there, Kayla and Trista. So then after that, met up with Dolvett. And the night began.
Host
What time was this now when you guys finally linked up?
Dolvett
Seven o'. Clock.
Brandon
Okay, I was there at as he told me to, but somebody has a little punctuation issues. No.
Dolvett
You know, young sensei, you have to be patient. You have to learn. Yeah, please, young one.
Brandon
I have to learn how to be patient.
Dolvett
Continue. Continue.
Bretzky
He does that when he's training people at the gym too. He's like 12 more. And then you get to 12 and he's like. I said 12 more.
Dolvett
Exactly. 11. Keep going.
Brandon
So after that we went to.
Host
Oh, wait, wait, wait, let's back up a second. So you meet up where at 7
Dolvett
o' clock at my gym at the studio. Yeah.
Brandon
Body sculptor.
Host
What's your first impression when you walk in the door and you see him? Is he dressed for the night?
Dolvett
No, he's not. He's dressed to mow the lawn or to, you know, hang out with the boys at the pub. You know what I mean?
Brandon
Coach a basketball game. We'll get into that.
Dolvett
Coach a basketball game somewhere in that world.
Host
So you coached the basketball game and you went straight from there to go out?
Dolvett
Yeah, dude, he like is about to work out. Seriously. I was like, okay, let's go, let's go, you know, do some reps real quick. Swear to God.
Brandon
I mean it was a tight schedule
Host
so you know, you couldn't bring like different clothes or something?
Brandon
I had different clothes, but what'd you say about khakis?
Dolvett
Oh, he said, I asked him, what do you have to wear? He said, well, you know, I got some jeans from Walmart. Okay, where are your sneakers? You know, you got, you got shoes. Well, I got some dress shoes. I guess I could wear those with my khakis. I said, khakis are forbidden. They're forbidden. You do not wear khakis.
Host
Yeah, that's wrong with you. That's anti swagger, isn't it?
Dolvett
Oh my. We're gonna learn so much. You can wear it now if you've
Bretzky
got a part time job at Best Buy.
Dolvett
There you go with the blue shirt.
Bretzky
There's your khakis.
Host
So he pulls up in his khakis,
Dolvett
he has on his jeans that whole
Friend
like Georgia boy look like those guys wear khakis all the time with the worn in hat, you know?
Dolvett
Do I look like a Georgia?
Friend
I'm just saying khakis may not work for you, but they like some guys can pull them off.
Brandon
There's only one worse.
Host
I go back to the results have been for the last two years. Exactly what are the results been. That's true. So khaki jeans.
Friend
I'm just saying, in this specific case, it fits, but not always.
Host
But it hasn't worked for two years. That's what he was saying is like, have you been doing khakis for two years? You got.
Brandon
No, I don't wear khakis out. Like, I don't want this.
Dolvett
That's what you suggested.
Brandon
They were in my bag.
Dolvett
In order to change, you gotta change, period.
Host
Okay, so your first place after the gym is where we went to straights. Okay.
Dolvett
Ate really good. How do you take care of us?
Host
I mean, so you initially get him in there and how's he doing?
Dolvett
Well, by now, it's just dinner. So we're just sitting at dinner. We're eating, we're social. That was my opportunity to get to know him better, to kind of know where to take the night.
Host
Okay.
Dolvett
And that's exactly what he did. And he didn't change his clothes? Not at all.
Bretzky
Aw, man.
Dolvett
No, I didn't look like a bum. Okay? So I'm just trying to set the scene.
Friend
Jeans and tennis shoes.
Bretzky
Okay.
Dolvett
Jeans, tennis shoes, shirt.
Host
Just not dressed to impress. Just to go out to, like, a pub, like you said.
Dolvett
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was a pub guy.
Host
Nigga Brian is a male team, man. You need this. It's hard to hear, but this is your. This is your swag intervention.
Dolvett
Tough love.
Brandon
So let's get to the part where.
Host
Let's get to the part where he starts. That you start to introduce him to, like, some girls or you're at a club or. Where'd you take him after that?
Dolvett
We went to Palomar. After that, which is right around the corner from straights. And, you know, say, you know, let's go to the bar real quick and hang out and Nice venue. And we went upstairs and we met a couple young ladies. Well, I said, okay, Bren, I'm gonna do what I do. So I went over, introduced myself to a couple young ladies.
Brandon
I'm gonna do what I do.
Dolvett
I do what I do. I invited them over, I mentioned the show, and they introduced themselves, which is what you do.
Bretzky
You're like, I am Dolphin.
Dolvett
I'm Dolph in the Bird show. You may have heard of me. You've heard of me, I'm sure. No, no, I don't do that. So the girls came over. Ironically enough, it was two young ladies. I offered to buy them their drinks, and they said one of their girlfriends happened to be her 21st birthday. They were out that night helping her celebrate. Okay, let me say this. Prior to that introduction, he was sitting at the bar, kind of hunched over, looking at the game.
Brandon
Discovery Channel.
Dolvett
Discovery Channel.
Brandon
Damn.
Dolvett
He just looked bored.
Host
You're uncomfortable.
Brandon
Yeah, he was a little bit. I chatted up with the bartender, found out I played baseball against him. So.
Dolvett
Yeah. And that's what split up him and jets car.
Host
So Dolvett now is on his own, and he's getting two women to bring over, and you're chatting up, talking baseball with the bartender.
Dolvett
Right, right. Who's a guy.
Friend
Who's a guy who should be chatting.
Dolvett
And he was so happy. He went from. Yeah, yeah. So anyway, and then the Braves, and then he's excited, I think you played against me and Jeff Rank and all these. Oh, my gosh.
Brandon
Jeff brought it up first that he played against. He went to Parkview and he played against me.
Dolvett
But that was the happy.
Bretzky
As you were in the first three hours time. During that conversation, did you make a tent in your khakis?
Brandon
No.
Bretzky
Because we may be looking at a bigger issue here.
Dolvett
Is that a baseball, Jeff?
Brandon
I had on my Spanx, so I was really looking slim. I had my man Spanx on. I was looking real slim.
Host
So you're nervous at this point because he breaks away and, you know, he's bringing two girls over. Honestly, you must have been a little nervous.
Brandon
A little.
Dolvett
Okay, you know what? I gotta be honest with you. I didn't see nervous because the girls came over, and again, he lit up like they were talking about baseball. I mean, he was telling jokes and he was being all witty. And now, mind you, it was three girls. I had his. He had. I was looking at his back the entire time. He didn't turn around. He was just, nah, nah, nah. And this is funny, you know, and he started. I'm like, who is this guy?
Host
So he turned it on.
Dolvett
He turned it on. I was so proud. So proud of Young Gun.
Host
Okay.
Dolvett
Young Gun did this thing. I said to myself, if he had on some Gucci shoes. Well, I tell you, go home. I'm telling you, looking at me.
Brandon
Does anything about me say Gucci?
Dolvett
Not yet, Young sensei.
Brandon
We're still working.
Host
All right. So, I mean, the first test is pretty good. He's doing okay. He's got game.
Dolvett
He's game good. He's doing good. I mean, it went from him talking to them at the bar, the three ladies, to inviting them out on the patio. We're sitting down, we're, you know, having cocktails, and he's still talking. Still.
Bretzky
Now, was it Like, a legitimate thing to the patio, or did he invite him out to have, like, a contest to see who could throw ice cubes at the farm?
Dolvett
It was actually legitimate. He actually, like, you know, he's doing
Host
this all on his own.
Friend
So the girls are, like, laughing, having
Dolvett
fun, having a great time.
Friend
Okay.
Bretzky
Okay.
Dolvett
Great time. Everyone's having a good time. I'm really, truly, honestly surprised at how he stood up to the plate, so to speak.
Host
I'm shocked right now.
Brandon
I'm sure the Jager bombs really did help that situation.
Dolvett
Did I mention Jager bombs?
Host
And he doesn't drink.
Dolvett
Yeah. When I said. He got in the car and I said, okay, you know, what's your drink of choice? He said, pepsi. I said, not with me. We are gonna have some drinks tonight. Hate it or love it, you drink it tonight.
Host
It's not a Pepsi and khaki night tonight.
Dolvett
Okay, you know what?
Bretzky
It's almost. I actually think Brandon has developed into, like, a niche of. Of opposite. You're opposite, man. Like, you're going out with dolphat, and you put on khakis. Like, no, I don't. I just don't think that, like, you're in Atlanta, Georgia, and somebody says, what do you want to drink? You're the guy, the one guy who says, Pepsi, Right?
Dolvett
Exactly.
Bretzky
Exactly. Like you are.
Brandon
I refuse to drink Coke. So when I go out to, like,
Host
why,
Brandon
I grew up near a Pepsi bottling plant.
Host
So you got loyalties, man. Okay. Anyway. All right, we're getting off message. We're getting off message here. Okay.
Dolvett
And so after that, I think, no, he exchanged numbers with one of the girls.
Host
Did you?
Bretzky
Yeah.
Host
You got a number?
Dolvett
Yeah, actually, he did that at the bar before we went on the patio. And I tell you, I've never had a prouder moment. I've never had a prouder moment in
Host
my entire life at this point. Then what seems to be the problem? Dude says he's got no swag outside the khakis.
Dolvett
He's doing wonderful. You gotta keep this attitude he had once. Once I pushed the ladies on him. He was ready. He was just in his zone.
Bretzky
Nice.
Dolvett
He had a good time. He was witty, he was funny. He was engaging to them and everything that I thought he wouldn't be. I expected that hunch. Little kid over on the bar. He was the total opposite.
Host
At any point in the night, did he approach any women by himself?
Dolvett
No.
Host
Okay. So that.
Dolvett
That was the issue.
Host
That's the thing to focus on right there.
Dolvett
That's the issue in terms of him just saying hi, you know, walking up to them. And I think that's. That would be part two.
Friend
A lot of guys feel that way. Like they don't know what their opening line should be because they feel like they have to have a line.
Dolvett
I mean, I think we talked about this the first time.
Brandon
Yeah.
Friend
Yeah.
Dolvett
I think your opening line is your name. Just introduce yourself. If you find. If you're interested in her, just walk to her and say, hi, I'm Brandon. Shake her hand, look her in the eyes, and don't let her hand go until she says her name.
Bretzky
Hi, I'm Brandon. Have you heard John Smoltz doing his play by play? I mean, he was a fantastic picture and he's also a fantastic commentator.
Host
Can I buy you a Pepsi?
Bretzky
Get it.
Lady Luck
The bird show.
Dolvett
What's up everybody?
Bretzky
It's Bretzky and America is turning 250. And I can't think of a better way to celebrate that than playing on an American owned social casino. Spinquest.com with all of your favorite games. Live craps, bubble craps, live blackjack, there's no better place to play for free and win real cash prizes.

Cast: Host, Brandon (Intern), Dolvett (Coach/Friend), Bretzky, Lady Luck, Friends
This episode revolves around The Bert Show's challenge to intern Brandon, who confessed he "had no game" when it comes to meeting women. The team orchestrates an intervention, sending him out for an evening with Dolvett—a friend of the show known for his charisma—to see if Brandon can recover his confidence, pick up some social skills, and, hopefully, his “game.”
The conversation is playful and encouraging, laced with gentle ribbing of Brandon’s awkwardness and style, but consistently infused with camaraderie and upbeat humor. The cast's dynamic is supportive, even as they joke at Brandon’s expense. Dolvett’s input is wise-yet-chill, focused on building confidence through practical experience and minor push outside Brandon’s comfort zone.
This episode turns a potentially awkward “game” intervention into an affirming challenge. Brandon transforms from office wallflower to confident conversationalist with a little nudge—and the cast, especially Dolvett, celebrates every small win. The next test: Can Brandon bring this new attitude into solo encounters? Stay tuned for part two.
