Caller Gary
The bird show.
Bert (Host)
The more chores you do, more sex you're gonna get from your lady.
Co-host Stacy
Well, yeah, because you free up time.
Co-host Male 1
Isn't that common sense? No, that's not common sense to guys, really.
Co-host Stacy
They had to commission a study.
Co-host Male 2
Once I do chores, I'm exhausted.
Bert (Host)
So I don't think it's a time issue.
Co-host Male 1
It's an effort issue.
Bert (Host)
It's an effort issue. I think like, she sees that you guys are doing something together, um, and that just. That triggers the. Okay, it's on.
Co-host Male 1
Well, I think you benefit, like if one person is doing all the housework, you both are benefiting from the housework. So that's gonna create an environment of you know, bitterness if one person. Because in this day and age, no, it is not the woman's responsibility to do everything. So why, you know, the guys are gonna have to get out of that old school mentality because you are living in the same house, you are benefiting the same thing. So you have to contribute to household.
Bert (Host)
You need to be quiet right now.
Co-host Male 1
No, seriously, because you both are probably working now. It wasn't a case. We're not talking about your grandparents. This is a case. When women are working, men are working, you come home, you both are tired. So how about split the chores and then of course, yes, the woman's going to be very appreciative that you gave the effort to do something for the both of you.
Bert (Host)
I think even more so. We're probably looking for dudes that are sort of in a sexual drought right now. Like you're living in the same place with your wife, but you know, you got kids or what have you and, and you're just not having sex as much as you'd like or you guys are living together and the numbers don't, they just don't look real good for you. So I think that's our better test group. Go ahead, do a couple of chores this weekend. We'll talk to you now and then we'll talk to you on Monday and we'll see if the drought is over.
Co-host Male 1
But you can't say anything when you're doing the chores.
Co-host Male 2
Look what I'm doing.
Co-host Male 1
Don't be. Yeah.
Co-host Male 2
Hey, you notice this?
Co-host Male 1
Yes, of course. He does it now.
Co-host Male 2
Oh my God, look at that. New ceiling fan. Nobody got electrocuted.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Aren't I hot? Uh huh.
Bert (Host)
You just have to let the chore speak for yourself. Yes, absolutely. Right. So you go, you do some chores. Yeah, she's in the house, of course. So she sees you doing something and then you call us back on Monday or we get your number and we'll see if it really worked or not.
Co-host Stacy
It feels more like a team effort when you're, when you're both participating, you're both doing things and it's, it's like almost brings it togetherness even if the chores are completely separate.
Bert (Host)
404-741-Q100 hey Brandon.
Caller Brandon
Hey, how you doing?
Bert (Host)
Good man. How are you?
Caller Brandon
I'm doing well, Doing well.
Co-host Male 1
All right.
Bert (Host)
Now are you a guy that normally gets a whole bunch during the week?
Caller Brandon
No.
Bert (Host)
Okay.
Caller Brandon
You know, but hey, but we're, we're, we're gonna have our 10 year anniversary in March and I will say this my Wife is. She's, you know, she's. She. She helps out.
Co-host Male 2
What does that mean?
Co-host Male 1
I don't understand.
Caller Brandon
All right, sorry. Well, you know, she's, you know, she. She's a good wife, and she has been making a good effort, you know, towards me. I'm a guy, and I, you know, I love my wife, and I, you know, want to be physical. But she's, you know, she's getting better at reciprocating. But I'm also.
Co-host Male 2
She provides often. Is that what you're saying?
Caller Brandon
Well, no, not necessarily often because, you know, I'd want it all the time.
Bert (Host)
So you're looking for a little initiation.
Caller Gary
Exactly.
Bert (Host)
You want her to.
Caller Gary
Yeah.
Bert (Host)
Turn, get the car started.
Caller Brandon
But, you know, I clean around the house a lot. She's in corporate America, and I speak around the US So when we're both home, you know, we kind of have to share the side of the cleaning. But I'm home more frequently. So, you know, I want her to notice a lot of times because she'll come in from work and let's even say she, you know, she's doing things, and maybe she throws something at the trash can and misses and, you know, 10 minutes later I have to clean it up.
Bert (Host)
So here's what we want you to do this weekend. I mean, again, you can't brag that you're doing the chores. You just got to do them.
Caller Brandon
Okay.
Bert (Host)
And at least according to this survey, that once she sees you doing them, it will lead her to take some action.
Caller Brandon
Sounds like a winner.
Bert (Host)
And I know you're looking for action, so. Hold on one sec.
Co-host Male 2
Okay.
Co-host Stacy
He doesn't sound like the typical situation, though, does it?
Bert (Host)
Anyways, because he's doing it anyway.
Co-host Stacy
He's home. It seems like he's home. And they've kind of got reverse roles.
Co-host Male 2
That one won't count so much as. What we need is a guy who, On a normal. Who has, like. Let's say your garage has no blinds on the windows, but they're sitting in the box next to the windows, and they have been for three months. And the electrical switch in the kitchen hasn't worked since the beginning of last year. And the bicycle that you bought for your kid at Christmas still hasn't been assembled this week. Tackle all those problems, put up the blinds, hang the ceiling fan, fix the
Co-host Stacy
ledges, follow through, and then clean up after your project.
Co-host Male 2
Yes. And then just see what happens. That's what we need. Somebody. Yeah, somebody finishing all these things that normally that have just been waiting forever.
Bert (Host)
Dudes don't get it. Women are calling up to volunteer their husbands. You can't do that.
Co-host Stacy
No, no, no, no, no. It's gotta be the guys.
Co-host Male 1
Yes, it's an experiment. That's funny.
Co-host Male 2
It's an experiment in lovemaking.
Bert (Host)
Most dudes won't call up and say that. I think it's the. You're not getting much admission that makes guys not want to call.
Co-host Male 2
Well, hey, Luke.
Bert (Host)
Go ahead. You're on Q100.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Hey, Bert. How you doing?
Bert (Host)
Okay. You sound like the kind of guy that's just not getting a lot, I got to tell you.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Yeah, I'm kind of like one of those. Like, the other caller just mentioned not getting a whole lot. Last time I can reckon remember was the Sunday right after New Year's, which was the third, I believe.
Co-host Male 2
Yeah.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
So I've been on a drought since then.
Co-host Male 2
We know it's been a long time. Cause you used the word reckon. Cause I mean, if you're remembering something that's, you know, in your memory, if you're reckoning, then you're going way back. You're blowing dust off it.
Bert (Host)
Lou is going through a sexual recession right now.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Yeah, it's been quite some time.
Bert (Host)
Okay, According to the survey, Lou, I'm gonna put you on hold, and we'll get your phone number. We want to talk to you again on Monday. Just do some chores this weekend. Don't mention it to her. Like these guys said, don't highlight it, but just do it. She sees you doing it, according to the survey, you're gonna get some. Mm.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Okay.
Bert (Host)
All right. Good luck. Hold on.
Co-host Male 1
Yeah, and if she asks, you guys, don't say. Well, the Burch show told me to do this. I wanted to do this right.
Bert (Host)
Stacy drops this little hint the other day. We're watching I told you guys we love Friday night lights. And there's this character on the show, and his name is Riggins, and he's like this long hair, like, sort of country boy, loves his beer and stuff. And he's just handy. He's always got, like, a wrench in his hands or whatever. And this week, he went over to his brother's house to fix a toilet, and he's got a wrench in hand and his. His flannel shirt on. And she said, you really have no idea how hot that is to me, really.
Co-host Stacy
The fact that he could fix things,
Bert (Host)
fix things around the house so, you
Co-host Stacy
know, he could try to fix things.
Bert (Host)
I mean, just have the wrench in your hand doesn't mean you know what you're doing. So, Brad, I can dress the part.
Co-host Male 2
Why don't you try it? Why don't you just walk around carrying a tool? Not your tool, a tool.
Bert (Host)
A real tool.
Co-host Male 2
Yes.
Bert (Host)
Hey, Gary.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Hey.
Caller Gary
How you doing?
Bert (Host)
What's up?
Caller Gary
Not much. Just listening to the show. Love the show, guys.
Co-host Male 1
Thanks.
Bert (Host)
You're not getting much, Gary.
Caller Gary
Well, you know, we've been married for going on nine years now. We've got three kids. You know what kind of slacks off after that.
Bert (Host)
I feel you.
Co-host Male 2
When is the last time. When do you reckon the last time your wife laid down like a woman for you?
Caller Gary
It hadn't been that long. I mean, it's gone from where it was almost, you know, four or five times a week when we were dating and first got married.
Co-host Male 2
But of course, that's how they get you.
Caller Gary
I would say it's, you know, down to once or twice a month.
Bert (Host)
Yeah.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Yeah.
Bert (Host)
See, that's the problem with women. They're giving it to guys too much in the beginning of the relationship. If you want to break us in, give us the reality on the front end and only have sex with us once a month.
Co-host Male 2
It's giving guys what they want. It's trapping them. Yeah, it's called manipulation.
Co-host Male 1
That's what women do best.
Bert (Host)
Well, Gary, you may be perfect for this. Try it this weekend. Just do a couple of chores around the house. Don't brag about them, but according to the survey, it's gonna work out good for you by the end of the weekend.
Caller Gary
I will go ahead and say that it's. I believe it will work because she has flat out said that before. She's like, you know, look, you want some? Vacuum the house, wash, you know?
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Yeah, she.
Caller Gary
She's pretty upfront that, you know, you want some. That's what you got to do.
Co-host Male 2
And I think if you feel it'll
Co-host Stacy
work if you already do a couple of chores, typically, I think you got to ramp up your game. So you got to increase your. The amount of chores that you're doing by at least 50 to 100%.
Caller Gary
Well, that's not hard for me because I hate doing chores, so I don't do any of them.
Co-host Male 2
And you can also do them naked.
Caller Gary
I don't know that that would work.
Co-host Male 2
Be careful using the hose attachment to the vacuum, though.
Bert (Host)
What? Who knows what's going on in his house?
Co-host Stacy
Lord.
Bert (Host)
Gary, hold on one sec. Go get your phone number, and we'll talk to you Monday, okay?
Caller Gary
All right, Sounds great, guys.
Bert (Host)
All right, let's look for one more. Dude, just stop talking. Hey, Blake.
Caller Blake
Yo.
Bert (Host)
What's going on? Nothing much. On any given.
Co-host Male 1
Literally.
Bert (Host)
Yeah. Right. Any given week. How many chores do you do around the house?
Caller Blake
I had, man, I can't even count it. I mean, I might, you know, watch a load of clothes here and there, but my wife pretty much does the majority of it.
Co-host Stacy
Does she work too? Outside of the home?
Caller Blake
Yeah, she works a part time job and usually during the week she works in the mornings and on the weekends she works work tonight.
Bert (Host)
And sexually, how's this all working out for you, man?
Caller Blake
I mean, maybe once every two weeks.
Co-host Male 1
Okay, that's defeat.
Co-host Male 2
And given that she's not spending time making love to you, why doesn't she work a full time job? Have you asked her that?
Caller Blake
Well, she.
Caller Gary
I never asked her that, but I
Caller Blake
kind of didn't work full time because of our little boy. You know, he's about to start school and next year he's gonna start school and she's trying to get in as much time with him as she can before, you know, he starts school. So
Bert (Host)
what we want you to do this weekend is just do a couple of chores. If you're doing nothing, just do a couple of chores around the house and by the end of the weekend you'll be fine. Okay, hold on. And then there's Tyler. Hey, Tyler. Tyler.
Caller Blake
Hello.
Co-host Male 2
Hey.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Hey. This is Thomas.
Bert (Host)
Yeah, it is. Tommy. Tyler. Okay, what's up?
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
I'm gonna help you with your segment here. It totally works. We've been together for seven years and we, I mean three, four or five times a week still. However, this last month it's been a severe drought for us. And I'm telling you, I got home early for the first time last couple months yesterday, did some chores, cleaned all three bathrooms, made dinner, came home, had sex. Life
Bert (Host)
there is your shining example, man, right there. Okay.
Co-host Male 2
Was it your wife?
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
I'm telling you. Yeah, my wife. I'm telling you guys, it works. Do it. The other thing is be appreciative of what they do and it goes a long way.
Bert (Host)
Just a little thank you, a little appreciation and a chore now and then.
Co-host Stacy
Oh yeah.
Bert (Host)
And it's own Tommy Tyler.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Oh yeah.
Caller Brandon
Twice.
Co-host Male 2
Just remember, twice.
Co-host Male 1
He keeps getting that in there.
Bert (Host)
Way to go, Tommy Tyler.
Caller Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas
Twice.
Co-host Male 2
Hey guys, remember this phrase, work with this? Like school a chore makes her a whore.
Caller Gary
The bird show.

Episode Air Date: June 12, 2026
Theme: The hosts conduct a lively, humorous discussion about the idea that men who increase their household chore contributions may experience more intimacy in their relationships. They tap into a recent study’s claims, debate its logic, and set up a listener "experiment" for the weekend to see if chores actually translate into more sex.
This episode centers around the playful but genuine question: Can men improve their sex lives by doing more household chores? The Bert Show team explores the rationale, banter about gender roles, and connect with listeners to try out the "chore-for-sex" theory over the coming weekend.
Multiple men call in, sharing their situations and how much they (don’t) help at home or are “in a drought.”
Brandon’s Case ([03:49])
Lou / Tommy Tyler / Thomas ([06:27])
Gary’s Admission ([08:24])
Blake’s Dynamic ([10:21])
Caller validation: “Tommy Tyler” says, after a recent dry month, he came home early, cleaned all three bathrooms, made dinner, and had sex that night ([11:46–12:18]).
“I’m telling you, I got home early for the first time in a couple of months yesterday, did some chores … came home, had sex.” — Tommy Tyler ([12:17])
Key advice: Show appreciation for what your partner does and “a chore now and then” goes a long way ([12:21–12:29]).
“Be appreciative of what they do and it goes a long way.” — Tommy Tyler ([12:21])
“Just have the wrench in your hand … doesn’t mean you know what you’re doing.” — Bert ([08:11])

This episode of The Bert Show dives into the claim that men can boost intimacy by pitching in more with household chores. Through honest, humorous debate and phone calls from men in various relationship stages, the hosts set up an informal weekend “study,” encouraging guys to quietly tackle neglected household tasks and report back. The show features light-hearted jabs at traditional gender roles, acknowledges the shared workload in modern relationships, and lands on a simple takeaway: small acts of contribution and appreciation can strengthen connection—sometimes in unexpected (and rewarding) ways.
