The Bird show this is something we want to replay that happened on the show yesterday and.
Co-host or Commentator 1
We'Ll find out like the follow up on Monday. That's why we got to get everybody caught up right now.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Yeah, we're going to do a follow up of this on Monday. This is Mia and Ryan and the short version is he's married but wants to take her to breakfast to find out if they are soulmates.
Co-host or Commentator 1
Here's the a little bit longer version. Is that Mia and this guy she's calling Ryan dated for years and years and years.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
It's all in there.
Co-host or Commentator 1
And then he was traveling for biz. Oh, okay.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Were we playing the whole thing?
Ryan Seacrest
The whole thing?
Show Host (possibly Burt)
The whole thing. So this is the tale of Mia and Ryan. And the update comes Monday morning on the Burt show on all the hits. Q100. Hey, Mia.
Mia
Hey, good morning, guys.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
How are you?
Mia
Oh, I'm torn. I'm so torn because this is not just some random married guy. This was the love of my life for several years and it's a very complicated situation. There's a lot of thief. I'd like to give you the story so that you'll know how hard this is for me to deal with.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Ok, the floor is yours. Take it away.
Mia
Okay. We'll call him Ryan. That's not his real name either. I just don't want anybody to listen and know us because, you know, I have a lot of friends in the city. But I was with Ryan from the time I was 22 to the time I was about 25. I mean, we were together Right out of college. And it was perfect relationship. It was passionate, it was wonderful. We were, you know, destined to be together. He felt the same way. You know, work issues came up. You know, he needed to travel for a few years. But basically he said he was going to start out, you know, leaving Atlanta for about eight months to go to Nebraska for a job offer. And then he was going to come back or he was going to go to a major city where I could work because I need to be in a, you know, metropolitan kind of area. So his job in Nebraska really lasted only six months. So I was ecstatic thinking he was going to come back right away, you know, because we had agreed to really wait for each other. And we kept in touch all the time. We talked, like every other day, crazy phone bills. But after Nebraska, he ended up in Canada for three months. And I thought, well, I could do Toronto. Okay, I'll do Toronto. But then he goes, no, no, I'm only going to be here for three or five months. Then he was in Miami for a month, and then in Oklahoma for eight months. I mean, it was just. It just kept getting longer and longer and longer and moving around, so I could never really join him. And we stayed in touch and were very much in love. But I got really frustrated because I kind of felt like he wasn't thinking about me as much. He was thinking about his job opportunities. So I did a really stupid thing. I was like, you know what? Fine. I'm gonna go out on a date. I'm gonna show him that I'm not gonna sit around and wait. Never really intending to be with this other person, just to get out of the house a little bit, because I was kind of waiting around. And he found out through a friend of ours, because we're all very closely knit from school still, that I had gone out on this date. And I' forget it, you know. It was Thursday, January 16, 11:36pm 2003. He called me on the phone. He told me that he found out I had gone out with somebody else and that he never wanted to speak to me again. And I mean, it was devastating. I didn't know what to do. I felt horrible. I tried to reach out to him through an email or whatever. We really lost contact. He was truly done with me. So since that time, it's been three years I've thought about him. Every morning when I wake up, I think about him. When I go to sleep, I dream about him. I have been Googling him, finding out what's going on with his Work kind of keeping tabs on him. But the really big issue is that I know that he met a girl. This is all through friends because some of my friends keep in touch with him. He met a girl who was a second grade school teacher. They knew each other and dating for like nine and a half months. Then they got engaged very quickly and got married like six months later. So they've been together, you know, less than, you know, 18 months. They live in Washington, D.C. now, which is, you know, a nice city. And I thought, wow, he's married. What am I gonna do? Well, I guess it's over. My heart's broken because I really believe we were always gonna get back together. But he called me on Sunday out of the blue. He called me and then, yeah, he called me and left a message and said, you know, this is Ryan, I need to. I need to speak. Please call me back. So I called him back Monday morning. We had a brief talk, but basically he said to me he was going to be in town this weekend for business and that he's thought about me every day since we broke up and he thinks about me every night and he really needs to see me and speak to me. But then he said, you know, I don't want there to be any alcohol at our meeting because I want us to be responsible. So we're meeting for breakfast on Saturday morning at around 10, and he has a 2 o' clock flight, so I was pushing for maybe a Friday night dinner. But he wants to see me Saturday morning before his flight. So of course I'm ecstatic to see him, but I'm also really freaking out because what does this mean? Does this mean that he feels unresolved? Does it mean that he's thinking about leaving his wife? I mean, if that's the case, I wish he'd just deal with her first and then does she know he's gonna see me? I'm overwrought with all this emotion and I want to just. You.
Co-host or Commentator 1
He didn't give you any indication of what this is about. He just said he wants to see you and kept it short and sweet.
Mia
And that was it? Yeah, he said he didn't want to get into it on the phone, but, I mean, the hopeful part of me was when he told me he thinks about me every day just like I do. That means he must, you know, love me still somewhere, but at the same time, he is married and he doesn't want it, you know, he doesn't want it to be irresponsible, which means he Maybe he's afraid something will happen between us because he feels the way he feels. And so I just. You know, I don't want to, you know, marriage. But I don't know what's gonna happen. It's been so long. We might be different people, but we might be the perfect match, too.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
So.
Co-host or Commentator 1
Yeah, you're not asking us whether or not you should go, because you're going. I can hear it in your voice. You're totally going to meet him for breakfast. You're gonna be looking so fine when you do it, too, aren't you?
Mia
Yes. I have a hair appointment Friday morning.
Co-host or Commentator 1
I mean, we can help you. We can. I mean, we can help you speculate. We can help. You know, we can give you advice on how to handle yourself. But you're not asking us whether you're going or not, because I know no matter what we say, you're going.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Being devil's advocate. They've been married for less than a year now, right? How long have they been married? Okay, less than a year. What if he got married, and once he got married, he suddenly realizes that Mia is the love of his life? Like, that's what it.
Mia
I'm thinking.
Co-host or Commentator 2
Yeah, right.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
That's what it took him.
Jessie and Lenny Ware
We know.
Co-host or Commentator 2
You've been dreaming that for three years.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
It better that he addresses it now with Mia to find out yes or no before ruining his marriage.
Co-host or Commentator 1
Well, it's. I mean, just meeting with her for breakfast is potentially going to ruin his marriage. We don't know if he has been upfront with his wife about it, you know, we don't know.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
I mean, well, what's he gonna say to his wife, I gonna go have dinner with. Or breakfast with. Who might be like, he can't tell his wife. Like, what if he. What if he gets together with Mia and the chemistry is not there and he's like, oh, I was obviously having newlywed, you know, honeymoon jitters or whatever.
Co-host or Commentator 1
Yeah, well, I think that he could be personally meeting with Mia to have closure.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Right?
Co-host or Commentator 1
He's the one that dated somebody else. He's the one that was heartbroken. You know, I mean, he could be meeting with her to say, leave me alone. I know that you call my friends all the time to find out about what I'm doing. My new wife hates you. I really need you out of my. I mean, he could be doing that. We don't even know what his intention is.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Hey, Mia.
Mia
Yeah?
Show Host (possibly Burt)
You said part of the thing that he said to you was that she or that he said to you that he is also checked up on you and thinks about you every day. Is that accurate?
Mia
Yes, yes. That was the thing that floored me.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Now, are you sure he said it that way, or did he. Something. Say something like, yeah, I know you moved into a new condo. That would be like, big news amongst a group of friends. And you heard, oh, he Googles me every other.
Mia
No, he told me, you know, he's following me up on me through friends. He knows that I'm doing very well with work and that, you know, that I'm single. He actually mentioned that. He told me he was married, but that he thinks about me. He said, but I can't stop thinking about you. I need to see you. Those were his exact words. But he sounded kind of stressed out and freaked out about it, too. I mean, I wanted to talk right then and there. The phone, I was like, oh, thank. I'm so glad that, you know, I kind of got a little gushy, which I'm going to try to work on. But he. I don't know. It's. I mean, I haven't seen him in years, but he sounds like the same guy that, you know, I last saw when I was 25, except he's married.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
I am going to be in the minority and say that you should go.
Mia
Thank you. I have to go, right? I mean, I have to go.
Co-host or Commentator 2
Well, I knew that going, she doesn't care.
Co-host or Commentator 1
That's the first thing I said is it doesn't matter what we say. You're going, you're going, you're going.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
And the reason is the. It is unethical as it is and as wrong as it is. If he made a mistake in getting married because someone else is the love of his life, then he has an obligation to address that issue. However, he did take vows and he is married. So now that he is in that relationship with. He has that relationship with his wife. As wrong as it is and as sick as it is, it's not right to end the new marriage with his wife or bring this up to her unless he knows for certain.
Co-host or Commentator 2
Mia, let me ask you a question since you're going on Saturday, because, like, I agree with Jen that that's not the issue.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
I know. I say, I think you should go. And she's like, I know.
Mia
I know it.
Co-host or Commentator 1
I've been saying that for the store.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
That's why I've already. I've already got my shirt picked out. I got a hair party.
Mia
I do, I do.
Co-host or Commentator 2
She's already there. She's already at the restaurant now. Mia, let Me Ask a question. So let's say the guy comes to you and he says, she's already at the restaurant.
Mia
Yeah.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
She's standing at the counter and Goldberg's going toasted again and looking at her.
Co-host or Commentator 2
Exactly. Just look at the menu. I'll have another glass of water. If he says, I just wanted to let you know that I am married. I'm gonna stay faithful to my wife. We need to end this. And I do want closure. Are you gonna agree to that?
Mia
I guess I'll have to. I just want him to know how much I, you know, know that I messed up. But I was, you know, I was. I was angry and frustrated, and I just wanted to know how much I love him, regardless of what'll happen. You can't say that forever.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
You can'. I don't know if you can say that to us.
Co-host or Commentator 2
Did you just say you love him forever?
Mia
I will love him forever. I mean, you know, just because our circumstances have kept us apart, Even.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Even if I be with him, his marriage.
Co-host or Commentator 2
His married to another woman. But, you know, that's just a bump in the road.
Mia
But I mean, I still love him. I mean, I've tried to date other people, and it's. There's just nobody even remotely like him.
Capital One Bank Guy
But see that.
Co-host or Commentator 2
I mean, Mia, you haven't tried to date other people. You're going through the motions.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
What's the longest relationship you've had since that. That cold, dark January day?
Co-host or Commentator 2
What was the time again on that. What was the date again in the time?
Mia
Thursday, January 16, 11:36pm 2003.
Ryan Seacrest
Right.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
So since that day, how many relationships have you had?
Mia
Probably. I mean, relationships are such a weird term. I've dated guys probably like from four to, I think six and a half months was my longest one. But there was no passion there. It was kind of like we were having a good time, you know, hanging out. I mean, I've never been with anybody who was as is. You know, that connection. You know, that connection. I mean, you can go through the motions, but, you know, at the end of the day, you lay down next to somebody, whether or not they're your soulmate or not.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Now, Mia, do you. Cause you spent so much time Googling him or whatever. I'm just curious. Just answer these questions yes or no.
Mia
Okay.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Do you know his home address in.
Mia
Washington, D.C. i know pretty much the vicinity. The street? Yeah.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Do you know the name of the school his wife is a second grade teacher at?
Co-host or Commentator 2
Yes.
Mia
I've even seen her picture.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Do you know, is she pretty than You?
Mia
No.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Do you know his email address?
Mia
Yes.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Do you know if he has a MySpace page?
Mia
Yes.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Do you know what the MySpace page is?
Mia
Yes.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
How often do you look at it?
Mia
Every day.
Co-host or Commentator 2
Mia.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
This is gonna be fun. All right, Mia, we're gonna talk back to you again on Monday, okay?
Mia
Thank you so much for your help.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Hey, how often do you. We didn't help you.
Mia
We just talked to you.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Jenkabby called it 30 seconds into hearing your voice.
Co-host or Commentator 1
How often do you appointment you're going. Just don't do any. Anything. Don't think. Do anything.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
How often do you call his office when he's not at his desk in order to hear his.
Mia
I haven't done that very much. Maybe once a month.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
All right, we'll talk to you on Monday.
Mia
Thanks, guys.
Show Host (possibly Burt)
Thanks, Mia. The first show.
