Hey, the Birch Show. So the question here is, how is your life changing, even in the smallest way? Like, you're going to be a different person on Monday, right? Good morning, Mary. You are on the voice disguiser. Hi.
C
Hi. How are y'? All?
A
Good. How are you? What's going on in your life this weekend that when we talk to you on Monday, your life's going to change?
C
Well, my fiance and I, we went and eloped a couple of months ago. Thought it would be easy to keep it from our family until our wedding, which is going on in May, our real wedding, which my family is helping me pay for. And we're actually going to be telling everyone this weekend that we are already married and probably are not going to get any funding for our wedding in May. Not really sure how it's going to work.
A
Can I ask, why are you now telling them?
C
Because both our families are very, very religious people. We can't act like we're married. It was a lot more difficult than we ever expected it to be. And we can't sleep together. We can't live like we're married. We can't do anything. We have to act like we're still dating, and it's just too difficult to keep going until May, the end of May. So.
A
So, like, one of you guys would have to spend the weekend at, like, a hotel. You'd have to rearrange all the pictures in the house, get clothes out of the house and all that.
C
Yeah, I mean, we. We haven't been able. We've just been. We're still treated as. We're. As if we're in high school when we're at each other's houses now.
A
You said your weddings later on. So was your wedding really to please your family? I mean, would you still have the wedding?
C
No, I would love to still have the wedding. I still want to have the wedding. My fear is that they're not going to pay for it. And, you know, in their opinion, we're already married. Why pay for a big wedding? And I don't even want a big wedding. I just want. I want a very simple wedding.
D
I just.
C
I just want to have that traditional get together, celebration, ceremony type thing.
A
All right, well, let's talk to you on Monday morning around the same time and see how your parents took it.
C
Okay, great.
A
Okay. Hold on one sec. Don't go anywhere. Okay. So that's going to be stressful. Yeah, sure. This one doesn't have to go on a voice disguiser. Good morning, Ashley. You're on Q100. Hi.
D
Hey, y'. All. Well, my mom and I are driving four hours right now down to Valdosta, and I'm auditioning for a dance major, so. And this kind of is determining what I'm going to do for the rest of my life. So I'm pretty nervous.
A
Stay off the pole now. Why is it the rest of your life. I mean, why is it this one audition holds so much?
D
Well, it's kind of like it's in order to get into the dance program. And if I don't get in, I'm sure, hopefully I will. But if I don't, then I'm going to be an education major, so it just kind of determines which one I'm going to do.
A
Wow. So you really. That's a lot of pressure to put on yourself this week. So you're really making a decision, like, if I get the audition and I'm successful, I go one way in my life. If not, I go completely other way.
D
Right. And I'm always going to have dance a part of my life, but it might not be as important as it always has been for me. So. Okay, good luck.
A
That's a lot of pressure you're putting on yourself right there. Like, I wonder if it's not better for you to go into the weekend saying, look, even if it doesn't work, I'll give it another shot the next time in a couple of months. Because you're putting so much pressure on yourself on this one.
D
You're right.
A
Or at one point, you just have to say, look, I've been trying so long that this is my final day. My mom always used to tell me to dance like nobody's watching.
D
Yeah. That's kind of what I've always believed in. So I'm just gonna try my hardest and, you know, I've been dancing in companies and everything since I was 11, so I know what I'm doing, but I'm just nervous, you know.
A
I bet. What is your style like, you really focus on?
D
I'm more contemporary, lyrical. I don't know if you know what that is, but yeah, of course he does.
A
A lot of people don't know this, but the mov Billy Elliot was based on Jeff's early life.
D
Oh, okay. Well, there you go.
A
His dad wanted him to go into boxing in Ireland and he's like, no, I want to dance, dad. I want to dance. And it separated the family for a long time and this was sort of the compromise that they all came up with. Getting ready. From time to time, I'll get together and Melissa and I do our interpretive dance routines. I videotaped. Yeah, he won't take the ribbon stick and do much with it.
D
Well, you guys need to put that on YouTube or something.
A
That would generate more, more hits than anything we have ever done before. I promise you that. Like that Cirque du Soleil climbing the ribbon up to the ceiling and then twisting down. Dude, that ribbon ain't gonna hold that guy. Hey, the bird show. Tyler redick here from 2311 Racing. Another checkered flag for the books. Time to celebrate with Chumba.
