Show Host
You're on the Birch Show.
Male Host 1
So this Victoria's Secret fashion show is tonight, right?
Female Host 1
Yeah.
Female Host 2
10 o' clock. CBS Tonight.
Male Host 1
CBS Tonight. And I'm not exactly sure where to go with this, but like, who watches it? I think the ratings are pretty good on it every year. But I mean, are these like fraternity dudes to sit down or is this like, who's watching that thing tonight?
Female Host 1
Didn't this thing start on the Internet and it got such good, you know, good views? I didn't realize that Ratings that it now is televised. So it started out online only. So I don't know, because I have never seen it.
Male Host 1
Me neither. Not once.
Male Host 2
Pay per view. I remember, watch. It's one of those things that Jessica will put on, and then I'll pretend not to watch. I can't believe you're watching this.
Male Host 1
You gotta be. That's a really tricky situation tonight. If you're watching with your wife or your girlfriend, like, you can't be too invested in the show or she's gonna be in. She's gonna be insulted.
Show Host
Right.
Female Host 2
Like, there's a potential to get really insecure if you were way over the top into it. Yeah.
Male Host 2
Well, I don't think.
Female Host 2
I think your wife would be like,
Male Host 2
all right, I'm not throwing my stuff down and sitting crisscross applesauce on the floor like it's Saturday morning cartoons. But I think because of what it is, because it's the Victoria's Secret fashion show, at least with Jessica, like, there's an acknowledgement that those women are flawless. So you're allowed to watch that.
Female Host 1
There are things that you'll say that women will absorb that you don't know they're absorbing. You know what I mean? Like, what Jen's saying is, you better
Male Host 1
sit there in silence. Don't even. I mean, you gotta really monitor. If you're a guy, monitor your breathing.
Female Host 1
Yes.
Female Host 2
If I were you, I would pretend I was on your BlackBerry or reading the magazine or doing something else. And then kind of every once in a while, like, take a look, check it out. If she says anything, then you can comment. But if you comment on your own, I think it's gonna hurt her feelings. It would mine anyway.
Male Host 2
There is a. I'll address that part second. But first, I wanna tell you about this thing I came across online yesterday.
Male Host 1
Hey, Brittany. Hold on one sec, okay?
Caller 1 - Female
Okay.
Male Host 1
It was just launched into a two pronged story. We may be here a while.
Male Host 2
It was a thing that you rig up to your laptop. Like, you use your. It was for a Mac, but you use your little webcam thing on your Mac or whatever. And it was instructions on how to turn the webcam so that it was pointed at the tv and then watch like you're basically watching, but then replay whatever's on the webcam on your computer screen so you could pretend to not be watching. So you could sit in the same room with its while it's on with your wife or girlfriend and pretend like you're answering emails. Meanwhile, you're watching the whole thing.
Male Host 1
How offended Would she be up in
Male Host 2
the corner of the screen?
Male Host 1
And if you're a guy, I mean, you can't be in your living room watching that alone when your wife or girlfriend walks in the room.
Female Host 1
No, no, no.
Male Host 1
She has to initiate the set tonight. Right. Because you can't volunteer for that.
Male Host 2
Yeah, you can remind her. Oh, don't forget that fashion show. What is it? The.
Female Host 1
You can't even do that.
Male Host 1
That's entirely be her idea.
Female Host 1
Absolutely.
Male Host 2
You can just turn it on the channel and hide the remote.
Male Host 1
Hey, Brittany. Good Morning. You're on Q100.
Caller 2 - Female
Good morning, guys.
Male Host 1
Hi.
Caller 2 - Female
Yeah, I was just listening. And I watch the fashion show every year. I love it. The whole. The wings and. I don't know, everything's just so pretty, and I actually end up watching it with my dad.
Female Host 2
With your dad?
Caller 2 - Female
Yeah.
Male Host 1
That's kind of creepy, isn't it?
Caller 2 - Female
Well, kind of. I don't know.
Male Host 2
Isn't that, like, taking your dad?
Caller 2 - Female
And I walked in, I was like, what are you watching? Like, I'm watching the Victoria's Secret fashion show. I was like, I'll sit down and watch, I guess.
Male Host 1
And then you got roped in. You've been watching it every year since.
Caller 2 - Female
I have. And actually, my son's 3 years old, and when I was in the hospital after I had him, it was on tv. And I remember watching it then while I was in the hospital after I had my son.
Male Host 1
So you would think, like, women that just delivered a baby would be least apt to watch a show like that because, you know, you're not feeling all that confident about your body.
Male Host 2
You watch that Heidi Klum, though, for motivation.
Male Host 1
That's not motiv. She's doing more harm than she's doing good.
Female Host 1
Yes. Anybody in the spotlight that loses baby weight so fast is.
Caller 3 - Male
Ugh.
Female Host 1
It frustrates me that women in the regular world think, wow, they've done something special. And it's like, well, if I had a nutritionist and I had a workout guy and I wasn't. And I wasn't going to work, you know, during the day, then, yeah, I could lose that, too, in three months.
Male Host 2
I think it's positive energy. I think it's. Hey, it can be done. Hey, look at, look. Look at what's within your reach.
Male Host 1
You know, I think if you're a. If you're a woman, would you rather watch it with your dad or with your husband?
Male Host 2
Never your dad.
Female Host 2
It doesn't sound like a father daughter bonding thing.
Female Host 1
Oh, my God.
Male Host 2
Come here, honey. Sit on my lap. We're going to Watch a special TV show.
Female Host 1
Jeff, shut up.
Male Host 1
It's a new tradition. Good morning, Stephanie. You're on Q100.
Caller 2 - Female
Hi. Hey, guys. How are you doing today?
Female Host 2
Good.
Male Host 1
How are you?
Caller 2 - Female
Good. Okay, so my husband and I watch it every year.
Male Host 2
Really?
Female Host 2
You don't get offended at all?
Caller 2 - Female
I don't get offended. And get this. I'm actually overweight. I'm overweight, probably by about 30 pounds. I feel great about my body because my husband lets me know so that I should be. But that's not the point. I love the show. He loves the show. But guess I get a new bra every year because of it.
Male Host 1
See, there's always intent with a woman that's right there.
Caller 2 - Female
Like, I don't get, like, the diamond gem one, but I get a new bra every year, and it's one of their new lines. And that's the ticket.
Female Host 1
And those are expensive, too.
Female Host 2
That's bribery.
Female Host 1
That's the way to get you to watch it is to promise, honey, I promise you I will buy you a Victoria.
Male Host 1
That's what they're hoping for.
Caller 2 - Female
Absolutely. But I also get to see, like, I don't know, it sometimes helps. You guys were talking the other day about how you compare butts or whatever at the. At the mall. Well, this is my chance to see exactly like. So which model does he love? Like, he's always responding to a certain model. And thank God it's usually one that's brunette with long hair. Because I have brunette hair and it's long. So things like that. Like, I get to compare and say, okay, so that's the girl that he likes. That's the one I want to look like.
Caller 3 - Male
Okay.
Male Host 1
I want to. I want guys to listen to what she's saying very, very closely here. Because you can learn a lot from what Stephanie's saying. Because Stephanie is saying when she asks her husband while they're watching which Victoria's Secret model is the hottest. Guys, listen to this. Find the one that most closely resembles what your wife looks like, and that's the one you say verbally, out loud, that one. And she'll pick up on the queue. That's an important lesson right there.
Female Host 2
That is a good lesson.
Male Host 1
That's a real good lesson right there.
Female Host 1
If you say anything at all.
Female Host 2
So no brunettes, Burt.
Male Host 1
No.
Female Host 2
No pointing out any brunettes for you.
Caller 2 - Female
I would.
Male Host 1
I don't. Well, A, I'll be sleeping by 10 o' clock tonight, but B, that is certainly not something that Stacy and I would sit down and watch together.
Female Host 2
She wouldn't do that. I Bet she would.
Caller 2 - Female
Mmm.
Male Host 1
I don't think she would right now. No, I don't think she would. Good morning, David, you're on Q100.
Male Host 2
And if she did, hide the golf club.
Female Host 1
Hidden, mean.
Male Host 2
All right.
Male Host 1
Hey, dav.
Female Host 1
And moving on.
Male Host 2
Awkward moment. Awkward moment.
Female Host 2
But I'm not going to.
Male Host 1
I'd appreciate you don't.
Male Host 2
And everybody make a noise. And we're back to the show.
Caller 2 - Female
Hong Kong.
Female Host 1
Don't look in front of the eye. Don't look in front of the eyes.
Male Host 1
Well, there's a good reason, but I just don't. I wouldn't. I wouldn't publicly say it unless she knew I was gonna say we're making noises.
Male Host 2
Making noises. Making noises.
Female Host 1
Don't look.
Male Host 2
Hey, David.
Caller 3 - Male
Good morning. Hey. Good morning, guys.
Male Host 1
Hey, what's up?
Caller 3 - Male
I got a quick tip for the guys who would like to watch this with their girlfriends. They know they're going to be in the room. You got to approach it the same way that women approach watching, you know, a football game, any kind of sports. You know, men's sports, where they're sweating and the bodies are showing off. You have to make subtle comments to let them know that you're interested but that you're not, you know, totally into it and totally enthralled with it. You know, you've had this in your planner for weeks now. Same way that women watch football. They're not watching football for the actual competition. And, you know, they don't know the stats and all that stuff.
Caller 2 - Female
I mean, that's not.
Female Host 1
That's not accurate.
Caller 3 - Male
There are some. There are some that's like, I completely appreciate that, but most women are watching it. To look at the guy's packages.
Ad Voice - Spinquest
To look at the guy's packages.
Male Host 1
If you get past the second argument, I think his first. His first point is really valid, that if you're a guy and you're watching it tonight, you're allowed to enjoy it. Just don't let her know you're enjoying it.
Female Host 1
Yeah. And because you have to also. Especially if you're in a relationship in which she complains about how you don't seem interested in things that you're doing together anyway. Like, if you seem bored with her throughout the day and then you turn on this Victoria's Secret thing, and then you're all enthusiastic.
Female Host 2
Right.
Female Host 1
You ain't having sex for a long
Caller 3 - Male
time,
Female Host 1
this is where you should be consistent. Seem bored with it, but enjoy it internally.
Male Host 1
Hey, Hannah. Good morning. You're on Q100.
Caller 1 - Female
Good morning. I wanted to say that I watch it Every year with my friends, because it's so much fun. It's just a performance. It's kind of campy with all the costumes. And then don't forget, you have the musical performances at the end.
Male Host 1
Oh, I forgot. Black Eyed Peas are on this thing tonight.
Female Host 2
Right?
Male Host 2
That's why I'd be watching.
Caller 1 - Female
And then this year, it's the Black Eyed Peas. But it's just fun. The costumes are humongous and it's totally unrealistic. I mean, I don't watch it to emulate them, but it's just good entertainment.
Male Host 1
That's the way to get into it tonight is go, hey, there's a Black Eyed Pea. A live Black Eyed Peas concert on TV tonight. Do you want to watch? And then you turn it on and there's all these Victoria's Secret models and you're like, where is this damn concert?
Male Host 2
You gotta start. You gotta start loving Black Eyed Peas. Like, you gotta come home wearing a Black Eyed Peas concert T shirt. Where'd you get that? Well, don't you remember when I traveled to the Black Eyed Peas show, I was on the road with him for three weeks.
Female Host 1
Man, guys couldn't pull off acting like that.
Caller 4 - Male
Who knew?
Male Host 1
Good morning, Andrew. You're part of the Bird show.
Caller 4 - Male
Hey, guys. I was actually told last week when the catalog came in the mail that we're watching it by my wife. She's like, heidi Klum just had that baby. I want to see how she looks.
Male Host 1
And you're like, okay, now, is she hoping that Heidi Klum does or does not look good?
Caller 4 - Male
Well, she. She watches. I mean, we watch Bravo all the time and all those shows, so she knows what she looks like already. But she's just. I'm listening.
Caller 2 - Female
I'm like, okay, it's all lifetime.
Female Host 1
Now.
Male Host 1
Did you sort of like mentally high five yourself when she made that suggestion to you?
Caller 4 - Male
I've done that many times in my life with her, so this is just one of the many. But yeah, it was totally. I was like, darn. But it makes up for me sitting through four seasons of Dancing with the Stars now.
Male Host 1
So there's your payoff here. Bird show.

In this lively throwback segment, The Bert Show team (Bert, Kristin, Abby, Cassie, Tommy, and callers) tackle a playful yet telling question: Who actually watches the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show—and why? The crew explores the social dynamics, gender roles, relationships, and even personal insecurities tied to watching this annual TV event. The conversation blends humor, honest reflection, and insightful confessions from listeners, with the hosts riffing on the awkwardness, allure, and traditions that surround the spectacle.
On relationship viewing dynamics:
“If you’re a guy, monitor your breathing.”
(03:17 — Male Host 1)
On personal confidence and the fashion show:
“I don’t get offended. And get this. I’m actually overweight... I love the show, he loves the show. But guess—I get a new bra every year because of it.”
(06:48 — Caller 2 - Female)
On harmless deception for marital harmony:
“Find the one that most closely resembles what your wife looks like, and that’s the one you say verbally, out loud, ‘that one.’”
(07:51 — Male Host 1)
On why some women watch:
“It’s just fun. The costumes are humongous and it’s totally unrealistic... I don’t watch it to emulate them, but it’s just good entertainment.”
(10:57 — Caller 1 - Female)
The tone is playful, irreverent, and candid, with equal parts gentle ribbing and honest reflection. The discussion is a mix of hosts poking fun at the social awkwardness surrounding the fashion show and listeners sharing their real-life, nuanced experiences—often with a humorous twist.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is truly a pop culture event with a surprisingly diverse (and occasionally reluctant) audience. Whether people tune in for the spectacle, the models, the musical performances, or just as a quirky tradition, the show brings up real questions about relationships, self-image, and how we approach entertainment—and each other—with humor, honesty, and a touch of strategic misdirection.
