Hey, Bible readers. I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible, verse 1 Samuel 12:22 says, the Lord will not abandon his people because that would dishonor his great name, for it has pleased the Lord to make you his very own people. Hey, guess what, bible readers? Happy 100 days. You have spent 100 days learning more about God. Who he is, what he's doing, and how much he loves his kids. So let's dive in. Even though he knows this won't go well, God tells Samuel to appoint Israel's first king and makes it clear who that king should be. Samuel tells a Benjamite named Saul that God has a plan for him to rescue his people. Samuel proves it by telling Saul three things that will happen to him on his way home. And of course, all three things happen. Do you remember when we talked about the Trinity? Well, God the Spirit comes upon Saul and people can tell that he's been changed by God. God gives Saul an incredible first victory over the Ammonites who were oppressing the Israelites. Samuel isn't a judge anymore. He's getting pretty old, but he's still a prophet. He reminds Israel that if they obey God, things will go well for them. He also warns them that if they sin, things won't go well. He tells them that even though they sinned by begging for a king, it's not too late to turn back to him. Today. Baja. God delights in his people. Delights. After all the times they've disregarded God, Samuel still tells the Israelites that it has pleased God to make them his own. And after all the times we've disregarded God, he is pleased to make us his own. Because of Jesus sacrifice. He rejoices over his kids and he's where the joy is. Can you believe it? We're 100 days into our Bible reading plan. Way to go, friends. That's incredible. We've made it through some tough parts of the Bible and I bet there were some things that left you scratching your head. You know what? Me too. That's okay. We're learning more about God and his character every day. He loves you so much and it makes him so happy that you are spending time in His Word. What are some of your favorite things you've learned so far? Whatever those things are, tell someone else about them. You and your other Bible reading friends and family can share your favorite stories. Remember, we're all in this together. And I'm here cheering you on. On. I'll see you tomorrow.
