Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids.

Today's bible verse.
A (0:13)
In 1 Samuel, chapter 13, verse 14, Samuel tells Saul, but now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people. Because you have not kept the Lord's command. Saul's biggest weakness is fear. Did you catch where Saul was when Samuel was going to anoint him in front of the people he was hiding? So it's not really a surprise that when the Philistine army gathers around Saul and his men at Gilgal, he panics. Saul is supposed to wait for Samuel's instructions, but instead he hastily offers a sacrifice to God. Only the priests are allowed to do this, and Saul isn't a priest. When Saul has the opportunity to repent, he insists his actions were right. He's fearful and he's prideful. And Samuel tells Saul that God will raise up his replacement. Meanwhile, Saul's son Jonathan is brave and busy winning battles against the Philistines. When he sins, and even accidentally, he repents and turns back to God. Today, Baja, God is sovereign. Do you remember that word? Let's review it. Because it is such an important word to remember. Word to remember.
B (1:51)
Sovereign means to have power and authority over someone or something. God has ultimate power and authority over everyone and everything he's created.

Because God is sovereign. He can use anything and anyone to move his plan forward. The people wanted a king, and even though this wasn't God's best plan for them, he allowed it and used it. Saul is fearful and prideful, and God still uses him to move his plan forward. Forward. Nothing any of us do or don't do can ruin God's plan. He is in charge of every moment and he's where the joy is.
